Night inside the resort is a thing of beauty, the courtyard leading into the deep forest became alight with numerous blue fireflies and strange bioluminescent escaping tube-looking flowers that exited they’re protective shell, apparently underground to escape the light of the sun for thy thrived in the moonlight, at least, according to the Yuki-Onna.

An unusual spectacles nonetheless, one that made carrying lamp unneeded and gave a beautiful vision of the sleepy forest similar to a strong full moon, but you unfortunately didn’t had more time to observe this romantic scenery, you only caught a brief glance of the outside by one of the rare windows.

The commune room was packed with everyone you came to know on this island for supper, you only had to wait a few moments after you came back with Athena and Sylphis looking like fools to resolve the problems brought by your empty belly, and it was a wonderfully active time that made you completely forget about your upcoming duties, where nonsense and simple fun reigned supreme amidst some people being uncomfortable, especially Hadraniel when you sat next to her.

You didn’t spot any kitchen or food storage during your earlier exploration of the place, but the mistress certainly didn’t seemed to be short on supplies and the large group, you included, had more than enough to be satisfied, even music was added as the Sea Bishop began playing a harp in the background, a soothing melody that felt briefly out of place during the activities but it was welcome nonetheless.

As for how she moved on land, she used magic to hover above ground, it was a very… unique process that stunned you the first time you saw it, after recovering from the initial shock she revealed (timidly) that it was a process of water magic that act with her scales, apparently all of them are magical, but have to be activated when she enter Trance.

You feigned to lose interest after that to give the poor girl some breathing room, she was so red and shy you actually felt sorry rather than wanting to squeeze her.

Time flew during and after the meal, you made sure to have your fun and forget about the imminent future, but now a certain serenity has settled inside the commune room, for good measure for the girls have almost all vacated, only Kyorn and the mermaid, who is still playing her harp, are present, Lady Elicia took all the plates at once thank to a healthy dose of water magic in the form of very precise and dense steams, quite a feat since you are, after all, an aquatic mage and in the know for everything related to water magic.

Now, why would you be left alone, not only by Mylen, but also Emeth? The aim of this little trip was a hot spring and now was high time for the girls to get in, collectively, and that meant disregarding the presences of gentleman such as your and the raven winged Hero who was looking lonely, despite trying to act tough and wise by crossing his arm and thinking deeply.

The melody of the harp brought by the skilled mermaid is enough to soothe some of your worries as you ponder your next move, seems that you’ve crossed paths often with this man today, how will he take your betrayal?

Right now, you could easily walk away and do some preparations for your… inevitable action, maybe make some notes and hide it on your person, rummage through your belongings and decide what to leave or simply ponder alone…

Or you could try to sneak a peek in the populated bath, everyone beside Elicia and that aquatic girl is in there – is it not the duty of man to observe the Garden of Eden?

You rummage through the papers as you find a blank one, most of the notes seem to be about troop’s compositions, supplies and the layout of the land with a few crude drawings but, by the look of it, all of this look discarded, perhaps she was thinking up some strategies?

The alchemical lamp grows a sad, half consumed white light but you finally beat down your curiosity and gently take the quill to write a simple ‘’Trust me’’ in the middle of a blank pages, then fold it as you look on and about for a hiding place…
Where? These papers are likely to be thrown, if you hide it in the desk she’s likely to miss it, on the bed and she’ll find it, in one of her spare kimono and she’s likely to find it as well, Tsu is sharp, unnaturally so.

What about your mask? I say tuck the note behind the mask, have it stuck to it and leave in on our desk when we get back.

The have a tendency to ignore advice from the ground and just do things the party likes. Like a recent by-election we had, advice from the ground was to bring in local grassroots leader. Instead the ruling party brought in someone from the outside who nothing to do with politics or the party until a month or two ago and fielded him. Of course he lost and promptly disappeared from the spotlight. Probably back to his old job

They also come up with odd pieces like a recent population white paper, wanting to increase our population to 6.9mil or so, from our current 5.1mil, when our transportation network is already lacking in muscle, due in part due to mass privatisation of our public transport, and no impetus on their part to increase service quality. A good number of other problems here but that will take at least two more full posts to go into.

The government also isn't corrupt but they are still crooked. Our electoral map has an all or nothing system for teams of representatives. This means the ruling party can get away with a 60+% approval rating and yet hold on to almost all 100+ seats in the government.

The situation is now a house of cards, just waiting to collapse and it's a pity since they have made good decisions regularly instead of playing the populist card. Their presentation, though, is still shit and if they don't change, they'll be in power for maybe just one more election and with the way the deck is stacked, once they're out, they'll never get in again.

I wonder what it'll take to destabilize them enough for that house of cards to fall if they refuse to give up power.

Moving does sound like a solid option so I'd recommend it from what I understand of Singapore.
I'm gonna toot my own nationalistic horn and suggest Australia, we're great if you have a stack of cash ready and a trade, we have a high entry level economically but once you're in it's pretty dang solid, plus our export based economy means we're not going to be irrelevant as long as developing nations still need our raw materials.
Otherwise Canada is your best bet.

Seriously nothing is that deadly here, I was out catching yabbies yesterday, grabbed three and got bitten twice, even walked casually past a snake. Nothing here gives a fuck if you leave it alone. I had to walk a good 3km away from the town I was out to get there too, Urban and even sub-urban Australia is safe as hell compared to America, about on par with Canada.
