Wiki:
http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Blatant_Fetish_Quest

Previously on Blatant Fetish Quest, our protagonist, Max Power, learned that 'he' was actually a female with male genitalia, as a result of having an incubus as a father. Three years later, Max flew to Romania to enroll at the prestigious Scholomance, a school for magic, meeting Liz, your new girlfriend, on the way. On arriving in Romania, you learned that the Scholomance is extremely deadly and that only half of each class proceeds to the next grade each year.

You joined the Lotus prestige society, and befriended Lotuses. Upon arriving at the Scholomance, a city-sized school hidden in a cave that's bigger on the inside, you discovered a tower and found your father chained up in the basement.

You're currently trying to balance Dextra Domini, rivals, commitments to your society, relationships, and studying while trying to survive. You're about a month and a half in. Liz made it into the Society of the Archmagi. Your dryad hatched and your mommy-instincts kicked into high gear. You were nearly taken out by a mysterious attacker.

You just woke up and are getting your cuddle on with Liz.

What do you do?
>>
>>23838393
Let's stay like this for a little bit longer.

We're going to have to get up soonish though so we don't wind up late or anything.

I want to give her the collar now, but I'm sure more people still want to wait for Paris just like they did yesterday.
>>
>>23838393
I think our banked action was keep cuddling and try to read Liz for any change in mood to something more active in bed, but not to push for it. Nothing wrong with waking up to some intimate cuddling every once in awhile.
>>
>>23838393
Cuddle for a little longer, then we should get up if we don't want to be late.

No reason to push for anything more, both because we don't have much time, and because sometimes something like this is a nice change of pace from all the kinky sex.
>>
>>23838459
also inform her that she's a good girl.

>I picture these beautiful moments and reflect on how adorable it is but then I always crack up upon remembering that Max is still bald and has a gibberish as fuck purple tattoo right on top of her head.

As for what to do, lets just stay for a minute. This is a nice change of pace from full throttle dickings.
>>
>>23838441
Well, I mainly want to wait to give her the collar on a weekend, so we don't have to worry so much about school and responsibilities. But reguardless we still need to make/acquire a lock first.
>>
>>23838568
Her hair's actually grown more than a week in, so it's not quite actually bald anymore.
>>
"Good morning," you whisper to her.

She plants another kiss on your lips. "Good morning, Mistress."

"I could stay like this all day," you say, giving her just a bit of a squeeze.

"Me too," she agrees. You stay like that for a while longer, holding each other, kissing, and just enjoying each other's presence before Liz finally starts disentangling herself from you. "I'll go make breakfast. You should probably get started with Selene or your morning workout or something, Mistress."

What do you do now?
>>
>>23838675
Quick workout, get showered and dressed and whatnot, then go see Selene.
>>
>>23838675
I wonder if Selene would be up for some tai chi again.

If not, let's just >>23838687

>>
>>23838675
Quick workout, rinse off then grab Selene (if she's awake) for a little mommy time while breakfast is being made. Have a nice family breakfast for once.
>>
>>23838675
Tai Chi is a good stretching workout in the morning, hell get Selene involved again it can be a daily thing with us and her or at least bi weekly
>>
You head on downstairs to see if Selene is up yet. You find her playing with Fap, and she runs up to you excitedly as you enter. "Mama!" she calls out.

"Hey there, sweetie," you say. "Do you want to do more tai chi with mama this morning? We could exercise together."

She thinks about it for a moment, then clearly decides that more slow-dancing with her mama sounds like a fun thing to do. She nods vigorously. You two get started, and you start trying to show her how to move.

Roll Body to demonstrate for her. You get a +2 for Focus and a +1 for Calm. I'll consider the first seven linked 1d100 rolls.

She's not terribly coordinated or focused, and she has a habit of giggling at inopportune moments, but she follows along as best she can and pays attention when you show her how to do it right. When you finally finish, she goes from tai chi 'dancing' to just silly little childish boogieing. You dance along with her for a minute before scooping her up.

"Breakfast time!" you tell her.

"I wanna stay with mama!" she says, thinking you meant you were going to drop her off with Breakfast.

"No, I mean it's time to eat, sweetie," you explain.

"Oh," she says, then gives you a squeeze.

You carry her upstairs, where Liz has set out bacon, eggs, and juice for you and her and a sippy cup with a couple bacon strips for Selene. You sit Selene down, sit next to Liz, and get started. Lin comes climbing on down, yawning, shortly thereafter.

"Save any for me?" she asks groggily.

"Yeah," says Liz. "Check the pan."

Lin doles herself out a plate and sits down too, giving Selene a little rub on the head as she does. "You're planning on taking Selene and her sister home with you this winter, right?" she asks you.

What do you say?
>>
>>23838921
Probably?
>>
>>23838921
"That was the plan."
>>
>>23838921
Of course we are.

The first year we should be fine going back to our house, but we might actually want to set up some wards there if we plan on going back in later years.

>>23838968

>>
"Yeah, probably," you say. "I haven't figured out a way to disguise them yet, though."

"You should get to work on that," she suggests. "While you still have a couple months to work out the kinks. Something reliable that doesn't require you or them doing constant upkeep, you know?"

"Yeah, that makes sense," you agree.

Lin grins after that. "If their leaves fall out - because, you know, it's going to be wintery outside - are you going to reshave your head to show solidarity with your daughters?"

What do you say?
>>
Here's a question for you Femcock - are we going to NEED to disguise them?

I recall in the first thread you mentioned Max found out that she was really a girl from the doctor's scrying spells. That kind of implies that magic is around in public - but then we've never heard of a lot of it.

Given Max's knowledge of the world, what would the reaction of the average person gonna be seeing something clearly non-human walking down the street?
>>
>>23839060
You misremembered. It was a counseling session for non-magical families whose children had been invited to the Scholomance.

And then they stop talking to us or run away and get eaten by [wild Scholomance beasty].

>>
>>23839259
Selene would prefer Rafiki or Mulan for sure.
>>
>>23839287
She would make an awesome rafiki! Also that kind of a costum could easily hide her lack of eyes and bat like ears in the false head.
>>
If Selene's vision works by overlaying color onto her echolocation, can she see things that are too far away for her to echolocate? Like the sun? Can she see through glass? Can she perceive brightness, or only color?
>>
>>23839315
Well, she could perceive brightness through the intensity of the colors she's skimming. She is probably a bit short sighted though. (considering that her brain lacked a visual cortex at time of Brits I don't think any direct vision we could have given her would have been that precise)
>>
>>23839349
I don't see how Selene's brain structure holds any relevance since the visual processing is done by whatever construct we give her to see.

Magic, yo.
>>
You rub your head. "I was planning on growing my hair out for me slut," you say, looking over at Liz. Then you look at Selene. "If that happens and it really upsets, her though... I don't know. I guess if it would help I might."

"Mama, wats a dis guys?" Selene asks you around a bit of bacon.

How do you answer her?
>>
>>23839449
A costume. Like what Timon and Pumba were wearing when they tricked the hyenas.
>>
>>23839449
"It's something you put on to make you look a bit different and blend in. Like when Mulan pretended to be a man."

"Halloween?" she asks.

"Yes!" you tell her. "That's where you dress up in a costume - that's another word for disguise - and get tasty treats from people! What do you want to dress up as?"

/tg/ sure does love its guns, even in settings where they are either non-existent or will quickly become obsolete (like this one).

The time we spend teaching our daughters to shoot could be spent teaching them more skill with magic so they don't need guns in the first place, and have a ton of extra skills besides.

I love that people in this quest keep discounting guns when they've actually been very prevalent and useful.

Vampire Lord? Shot him (Ok, the final kill was telehearted, but the handgun would have worked)

Liz vs Sanjay for killing those dog things the gun beat out his gay little fireballs in that SotA trial.

The tengu was a sniper. Lunch had a dartgun that would have fucked us up a lot worse if we hadn't had backup. She could have just shot us with a normal gun and ended it.

The dextra 5th year that fought dad and Petrov was a specialized sniper.

Dad and Petrov kept an armory full of guns up into their 5th circle.

The dextra's buddies that I can't remember the name of hunt demons with guns and papal artifacts.

That dextra upperclassman who was standing outside Breakfast's dorm room was carrying a gun. It was her go-to for if Max had gotten aggressive, not magic attacks.
Save the magic for "nuke it from orbit sun summoning".
>>
>>23840132
Some basic proficiency and gun safety is a must just so they have a decent non-magic ranged option for when they need it. But you are right it is a sideline and or backup to there magic skill.
>>23840138
is probably not worth the effort
>>
>>23840010
This >>23840238
Should we invite Liz or just tell her we will take care of her costum?
>>
>>23840132
But magic in this setting takes a LOT of prep time and foci, even then it can fuck up or fail. You don't need prep time to whip out a pistol and shoot somebody.
>>
>>23840247
And you forgot how a 1st year kinetic shield completely nulls out bullets.
>>
>>23840288
Pistol, no, but people talking about making our daughters into some OPERATOR team with specialist weapons is just retarded.
>>
>>23840267
We should let Liz do it, that way she can bond more with Selene.
>>
>>23840247
I thought guns were primarily for dealing with low level monsters (first circles are probably considered low level monsters).
>>
>>23840308
That goes without saying, but we should atleast teach them some rudimentary gun use.
>>
>>23840301
>>23840322
You're ignoring the higher circle members keeping guns.

Specifically that Dextra sniper. He made it to the 6th circle with Petrov

Getting our shit wrecked by that simple shield is more an example of us being unprepared than it is an indicator of guns being useless compared with magical attacks.
>>
>>23840329
No problem with that, I just saw this thread getting awfully /k/ on us suddenly, which in this setting seems like a fine way to get killed.
>>
>>23840346
Do you honestly think he got through all 6 years by sniping?

I would imagine that the sniper rifle was used in conjunction with a lot of magic. Relying on guns to carry us through to the later years is a stupid idea.
>>
>>23840346
>Specifically that Dextra sniper. He made it to the 6th circle with Petrov
And you forgot how he died like a bitch as soon as he went against someone who was competent.
>>
>>23840346

magic piercing, alchemy bullets.
Magic enhanced guns.

the possibilities!
>>
>>23840346
Sniper implies the use of a gun but does not necessarily mean that. We sniped pre-Lunch with a mind bullet, for example. I'm not saying the dextra didn't have a holy rifle, I just don't think we should assume that's the only option.
>>
>>23840392
Femcock specifically said that by the time we needed to enhance guns by magic, it would be counter-productive to keep using guns.
>>
>>23840374
Of course he used magic with it.

>>23840379
>And you forgot how he died like a bitch as soon as he went against someone who was competent.
Claiming that he didn't face one competent target before Petrov is just wrong.

Also we don't know if he died or dropped out. The dead body in the tower was the other Dextra, not the sniper.
>>
>>23840352
Yeah, this happens every once in awhile. Agree it's probably a dead end as far as survival strategies go.
>>
>>23840405

i missed that, bit of a shame really.
>>
>>23840374
Also forgot to mention that while it's obvious he was using a ton of magic being a 5th year in murderhogwarts, you don't have people calling you a sniper unless you do a lot of sniping as well.
>>
>>23840392
>Magic piercing alchemy bullets
How exactly do you plan on making a bullet pierce magic? And don't counter with 'lel magic', because the other side already has kinetic and conjuration wards.
>>
>>23840267
Liz and Max can work on it together.
>>
>>23840440
Dad only said he was a sniper when we asked why his body wasn't in the tower, and we were told his body was elsewhere because he was sniping, as I recall.

Doesn't necessarily mean he was a full-time sniper, just that he was sniping in that instance. The fact that he never returned to the tower and discovered Dimitri locked up suggests that he's dead.
>>
>>23840010
>>23840309
Has it right we want Selene to bond with her Mommy more and having Liz make her a tool she will a lot probably for the rest of her life is good. Liz can also make her her Halloween costume. Also now is a good time to ask how far she has gotten on her and the meals tattoo designs.
>>
>>23840521
I can go look for it in the archives if you really want it, but dad said "the Dextra just left me in here to rot because they're evil". Suggesting that he lived.
>>
>>23840556
But would Petrov take that risk? After all, it seemed he didn't want anyone to know about Dimitri, and leaving a Dextra alive who knew about the location of a trapped Incubus would be a slight flaw in his plan.
>>
>>23840554
This reminds me, weren't we going to help Liz with tattoo design at some point?
>>
>>23840613
IIRC she said she had it under control.
>>
>>23840583
I suppose that would be a pretty big flaw, but we simply don't know if Petrov killed him or not. No body, he could have just gotten behind wards or holed up in the Dextra sanctuary and teleported to classes each day and then back until Petrov scored higher and won out through scores.

We just don't know, but the fact remains that he made it to the top 2 and whatever his ultimate fate was doesn't change that.
>>
>>23840711
It's been fifteen years, odds are Petrov sun'd him somewhere along the line to keep the tower a secret, otherwise someone would've broken in long before us.
>>
>>23840711
Other guy apparently scored higher than him.
>>
>>23840732
Or he lobotomized him and is using his body as a power source or experimental specimen. There are a number of ways Petroc could have taken the sniper (gender?) out of the game with or without killing him(?). Also plenty of uses he could have found for the beaten dextra, employing him as a sniper for example.
>>
>>23839715
I love every aspect of that gun, we should get six.
>>
>>23840132
But if we make magic guns for our daughters when theyre still young, they will still be useful. We are like that max leveled guy giving a newbie world destroying artifacts that happens in every MMO.
>>
>>23840908
I have been saying this for awhile, guns might be fairly useless to us by the end of next semester, but they should be safe enough for our daughters to play with before they get serious about learning magic.
>>
>>23840908
I'd far rather keep our daughters out of harms way until they're skilled enough to rely on magic.
>>
>>23840908
The problem is we don't really have enough free time for hobbits that don't contribute to Max's attribute growth or produce long term equipment or plot items (the collar).
>>
>>23840977
Hobbits should be hobbies...
>>
>>23840908
> world destroying artifacts
Or we could just teach them basic and intermediate conjuration so they can just sun nuke people.
>>
>>23840442

You know the anti-[school of magic] wards? Rig a makeshift power cell out of a bullet (or other type of) elemental, and cover it with wards.
>>
>>23841057
That sounds like far too much time and effort for one bullet which may or may not hit.

Honestly, we shouldn't even be thinking about sniping people. If at all possible, we want to kill our enemies from the safety of our own sanctum.
>>
>>23840966
So would I, but it would be nice to know that just in case something goes horribly, horribly wrong, Selene still has that anti-tank sniper we gave her.
>>
>>23841092
Or an emergency teleport charm.
>>
>>23841081

Then make Sorcery penetrate the wards, and have a self-aiming bullet. Point in their general direction, fire, and watch them die (probably)
>>
>>23841092
But a sniper rifle is not a "shit is fucked up" weapon, it's a careful ambush weapon.

You do not whip out a sniper rifle when you are taken by surprise.

Pistols are fine as backup panic weapons, but a sniper rifle has an entirely different function, which can be achieved far safer through magical assassination.
>>
>>23841128
But if we're going to all that trouble, we may as well just cut out the gun and use magic to kill them.
>>
>>23841142
This. Just think of all the damn foci we would need for each bullet, then assume the target is intangible.
>>
Given what we've able to do with enchantment and alchemy so far, anyone who's incapable of thinking up ways to make guns viable weapons at the equivalent of high-level play is creatively deficient. OP included. The shit we ought to be able to do to ammo even now would be terrifying if it weren't for the fact that we've realised we're also capable of teleporting the sun onto people.
>>
>>23841128
Or a bullet that contains a piece of the sun that is kept in check by wards. The moment it enters their anti-conjuration wards the containment fails and they die
If we use a piece that is small enough, collateral damage can be minimized
>>
>>23841185
It's not so much that they are inviable as it is the fact that they are grossly inefficient.
>>
>>23841205

They're only inviable if they don't teleport back into the gun after stopping.
>>
That would be too dangerous to take outside the shelter. We are the only one that can throw up anti-conj wards, any competent kidnapper would start off with that gambit, instantly setting off the sun bullet.
>>
>>23841243
Should link >>23841200
>>
>>23841200
Or we could bind various elementals to rounds for various effects
>>
>>23841205
That's the thing, though. It means a lot more prep-time - making a bullet that can do something amazing is harder than doing the same thing with a spell, and takes more time. But it's also exponentially faster to deploy, doesn't cause us strain at the time of deployment, isn't dependent on a ton of foci, and if we've sunk the time in to make multiples can give us a hell of a lot of firepower in a short space of time. It's basically the oh-shit backup weapon - we wouldn't use guns as a primary attack when we're on the hunt because then we can come up with magic to do it better, but we should have fuckawesome guns to hand in the event that something unexpected happens or things go tits up because they're reliable backups. Could save our life.

I mean, frankly, if I were Max I would have already alchemised our 1911s and the casings used in the bullets to be incredibly hard so we could make ridiculously overpressure rounds, and hell, transmuted bullets out of Osmium or something - with the superhuman strength and durability we have we ought to be able to use a gun like that and it would be amazingly powerful. Unless I'm mistaking how this system works, people can't just put up magical anti-bullet fields that make firearms completely ineffective - they can have shields that protect them, will help deflect bullets or slow them and shit, but if basic physics is at all involved the heavier and faster we make our projectile the harder it is for those shields to effectively protect against them.
>>
>>23841411

Plus it's harder to enchant bolts of energy with wards.
>>
>>23841411
And I'd also have had the guns engraved and enchanted to use as permanent foci for a variety of attack spells in the same as we've done our tattoos, because it'd be an amazing way to feint against people who expect us to be shooting us with boolets just because we're pointing a gun at them.
>>
>>23841411
We should have dad make a few bullets like that to test out the next time he alchemizes up a batch of ammo.

Might want to reinforce the gun though so it doesn't blow up on us or something.
>>
"That's a great choice, sweetie," you tell her. "I'll help you with that, but your mommy especially can help, okay?"

"You can, mommy?" Selene asks, turning to Liz with an excited look on her face.

"Sure," says Liz, giving you a smirk. "We can figure something out. Are you sure you don't want to dress as Mulan at the end?"

"Ping," says Selene flatly, like she can't figure out why Liz wouldn't want to let her costume be of someone who's in disguise. Like it's incredibly obvious.

What do you do now?
>>
>>23841524
Assuming the bullets we've currently been using are jacketed lead, osmium bullets would be about twice as dense and would need a lot more oomph in the propellant department to achieve similar muzzle velocities, necessitating strengthening of the cartridges, firing chamber and barrel. Personally I'd like to make the guns as strong as we possibly can and make rounds as powerful as we possibly can, then scale downwards if necessary to make something that's still usable. Even if we can't make maximum use of the materials we can make, we're still capable of using guns with way more kick than these peashooters.
>>
>>23841411
Good point about the shields, which actually brings me to something I've been wondering about. Could you make a selective translocation shield with conjuration? Anything that hits the barrier with enough kinetic energy gets teleported somewhere else. Seems like an easy way to deal with physical attacks if possible.
>>
>>23841606
How're we doing on time?
>>
>>23841411
I really like the Idea of making a mental attack foci gun, with the bullet being a temp foci, casing with a brain with a light blot through it, replacing the gunpowder with a roffie, and semen. cause its unexpected method of attack. from a gun.

>>23841606

>>
>>23841720

>>
>>23841662
The gun part is cool the other bit is retarded because the utility belt dose the same job better.
>>
>>23841774
I don't know, it's kind of like setting up a disguised mental attack kit. Work in around ten drain prevention foci and that could be very useful if we get ambushed.
>>
>>23841774
how does it do it better? would you like to search pouches for 1/2 a dozen foci of point a gun? speed id better some times. Utility belt is great, but some times you don't have prep time So the gun like this is a great idea.

also an enchanted holster so muggles can't see our guns would be great.
>>
>>23841905
You don't have to hold all your foci to use them though. If we know what's in our belt, we can just use some of them up for the spell where they are.
>>
>>23841905
Based on previous casting it appears that we don't actually need to search our utility belt for foci when we use them - just having them be present and knowing that they're there appears to be sufficient for using them on the fly. This makes bizarre temporary foci bullets unnecessary (although they're thematically interesting), and has the bonus property of letting the gun continue to be useful as an actual gun.
>>
>>23841926
And even if we need them on hand a single container with all the foci you want to shove into a bullet is as convenient and keeps the gun a useful gun.

You get Selene and put her back in her room, get cleaned up and dressed with the other girls and, once you're done, head up to outbound teleportation. "So," he says, looking down at you. "Will you tutor me, then? I've waited about as long as I can. If you can't, I'll have to find someone else."

You check your ranking. Yes! You're up to seven and Liz is back to number one! After that, the three of you head in to class and take a seat, not wanting Petrov to chastise you for being tardy again. The room is empty aside from you, and a few minutes later Petrov pops into existence in the front of the room and gives you all a chastising look.

"Don't enter the class room before I've arrived. I sometimes need to set it up beforehand, such as when building the obstacle course," he says as he strides to the classroom doors and pushes them open. "You're all tardy. Take your seats," he says to everyone outside.

You feel like he would chastise people no matter what they do.

"Today, we're going to be having an independent study period," he explains. "I'll be walking around answering questions and observing what you're working on. Feel free to get creative with your projects and show off your expertise. Try tricky things that you might want my advice on. Get to it."

What do you do?

Petrov is a special kind of asshole. Something tells me he's based on someone you knew. Is he your chemistry professor? Is his classroom going to catch on fire one day?

Lets try to work on some sorcery or conjuration. Sorcery because we need to get less god-awful at it. Conj because getting close to a 4box is neat.

We probably don't want it running all the time, could be awkward. Still, we could attach it to an object that we can either leave hooked up to a specific room, or carry around the rest of the time.

Fine, fine. Build it into a ring and set the field to draw energy from the ring wearer but otherwise not effect them.

I am still voting we work on a location fixed calming field, just throwing out ideas for future applications.
>>

Snapple is, horrifyingly enough, right. No doing anything to tip people off to our nature. Still, we can work on the theory of it without testing it out here.
>>
>>23845330
We could do calming field for now, sure, then build on the knowledge we get from that to speed up research into other, sexier types of fields later in the comfort of our own home.

The elemental environment is extremely complicated, and a fifth level mage (one of the top 6% of all mages who are accepted to Scholomance) considers it hard. For a first year, it's totally advanced.

We need hundreds of elementals. During a class period we can make, at absolute best, maybe a dozen.

It's probably a bit too advanced for us to do here. I think the pacification field is probably a better subject to research.

So, are you guys going with an extremely simple, non-robust test ecosystem, or are you going with an experimental, tricky passive broad-scale emotional field?

>experimental, tricky passive broad-scale emotional field?

Petrov told us to go for something complicated after all.
>>
>>23845594
The second one. Get flashy.
>>
>>23845615
I'm not trying to dissuade you. They're both tricky and have a lot of potential for failure, which is what Petrov suggested.

>>
>>23845629

Emotional field. It applies to the ecosystem project and has a range of applications outside it.

the second
>>
I vote emotional field. Let's see if we can get the whole class randy, it'll disrupt their projects.
>>
>>23845629
i think it's about time for us to make lantern cores and go darkest night on this fucker
>>
EMOTIONAL FIELD HELL YEAH
>>
>>23845792
Let's not do that, we don't want to annoy Petrov and the rest of the year in one fell swoop.
>>
>>23845594
The ecosystem. It's a lot more practical and we're more likely to be able to apply it. And it's not really a security breach to do in public, since if someone were to get to where he can disrupt our actual functional ecosystem, they'd be inside the wards it supports anyway.
>>
>>23845594
ecosystem
>>
>>23845594
Let's go with the emotional field, it has a very wide range of uses even beyond the ecosystem, which we should really be learning more about with dad.
>>
>>23845594
Lets go with the ecosystem, if we practice it rift now then we will be better at it later when we help dad. Practice makes perfect.
>>
>>23845980
But the emotional field is the tricky we're using to stabilize the ecosystem.
>>
>>23845980
I think the ecosystem is a bit of a bland thing to practice, considering that we are, amongst other things, using this lesson to get advice from and impress Petrov.

If we do something complicated, we could move up the rankings.
>>
>>23845594
>experimental, tricky passive broad-scale emotional field
>>
>>23845999
We have no indication that it will be applicable for that, do we?

>>23846015
If it's complicated for our dad, it's complicated for a first year.
>>
>>23845629
Emotiinal field, working on the terrarium might give other peope ideas on how to support their own wards
>>
>>23846040
You do realise that we have two squares of conjuration, and no foci to mitigate conjuration strain, right?

We can summon two spirits, which is hardly a test run for an ecosystem.
>>
>>23845594
Emotional Field is far more valuable for the lesson.
>>
>>23846058

Or we could try to summon micro-spirits, at a dime a dozen.
>>
>>23846111
Elementals are micro-spirits as they are unNamed.
>>
>>23846111
Researching how to do that would be a project in and of itself. Since we've never used conjuration to summon mass spirits before. On top of which, as another anon said, if others see our ecosystem in operation, they might take the idea.

The emotional field is far more subtle and hard for people to realise what we're doing.
>>
>>23846140

In that case, micro-micro spirits.

>>23846251

>>
>>23846255
We can generate them by speeding microspirits up to relativistic speeds and colliding them together.

So goes the quest to understand the building blocks of magic!
>>
>>23846282
Why would that destroy them? If we summoned fire spirits for example they'd probably just merge.
>>
I really think the emotional field is a better use of our time here. We have far more enchantment and will be able to get far more done without assistance. I would rather save conjuration work for when we have allies assisting us and access to more materials.

Plus I'd prefer we kept our ecosystem plan a secret from the rest of the year. Our dad was rather proud of thinking it up and no-one having done it before, it would be a bit rude to spill the secret to the whole class.

You decide, pretty much out of the blue to try the idea of broad-scale emotional-manipulation fields. After all, that might be useful, and it's definitely interesting and difficult. "Minor but broad-scale Enchantment. Similar to that illusion you used to introduce yourself to the class, but extremely different in result and execution. Are there any questions you have about the theory, or would you rather we jump straight into me pointing out where you went wrong in your notes so far?"

>>
>>23847643
Please tell me I don't have to account for the differences in perception of each individual mind caught in the field. That might be more labor intensive to set up than I have time for here.
>>
>>23847643

>>
>>23847812
not really I am sure it would be similar to the broad sweep set up for the sensory skimming spell that lets Selene see, just with emotion rather than sights.
>>
>>23847643
"One question more to do with application than anything else, would a field like this be able to affect rudimentary elemental.spirits in a general way?"
>>
>>23848345
Shit, this is a good point, we should ask this, it is one of the main reasons we're doing this after all.
>>
I would be almost certain that Petrov knew about dad's initial plan to try and make the spirit ecosystem ward powering system and if we go asking questions like "will this work on a bunch of small spirits?" he's going to immediately know we're trying to follow through on it, because he's a wily smart bastard. I don't know if this is necessarily a bad thing, but I'm just throwing it out there; he already knows where we're holed up, after all, so I guess it can't get much worse than that from a security standpoint. Nonetheless, if we want to be secretive about it we'll want to be circumspect.
>>
>>23840301

It doesn't completely nullify it. It just makes it harder. It was more a case of our TERRIBLE rolling.

from last thread:
>Wouldn't that depend on HOW the firearm is enchanted?
>You could just as easily make one that guides its bullets to target with sorcery as one that's basically a fireball wand with a trigger, or one that works like liz's collar and turns into a knife when you're in close combat, or even one that just cleans itself so you don't have to do preventative maintainance, or one that's a foci.
>There's loads of different ways to enchant a gun without being hurr durr more recoil bigger boolet.

Also, high ranking people keep guns. There's late year snipers, etc.

Lets get a handgun and do something crazy like bind a fire elemental into it, so it shoots fireballs.
