(2 Fate Points)

House: Ravenclaw

Millicent is Anti-Social. This is the system-specific trait, not the popular definition of anti-social. She is not socially awkward, shy, or lonely; she actively hates people. But she is not a sociopath (she does feel emotions, and she does understand social expectations and rules, and does follow them, and is not manipulative; she just hates people).

However, being thrust into an environment where she MUST interact with people, no longer having the safe haven of her own room or of Dad and Mum, and with the threat of being disowned, has forced Millicent to begin accepting more people.

This does not mean that Millicent is lonely and wants friends for the sake of companionship or for the sake of friendship; she still feels hatred for people outside of the very small circle of family, familiar, doll, and acquaintance(s).

And that hatred will only subside with time, or her being forced to get to know the person better and becoming acclimated to them.

Her hatred isn't an uncontrolled thing either, unlike her fear of bodies of water or nausea regarding seafood; she can push down that hatred enough to work with people. People can do things they hate, and be unhappy with it but do it all the same.

Traits:
Near-Death
>A fear of large bodies of water and being unable to stomach foods with obvious fish.
Hexer
>Natural aptitude to hexes, but not trusted by others because of it.
Supernatural Luck: Able to refresh a Fate Point on an 8, 9, & 10 on a d10.

"We can wait until after break" you tell them as you look out the window to the castle grounds, the smoke no longer rising in the distance.

Silence. Birds twitter outside the window. The chill morning air caresses your skin. The adrenalien seeps out of your vains.

"How did you cast that fire spell?" asks Nigel as he prods the embers of the dying fire, not directly looking at you.

>It just happened I couldn't control it.

Nigel sits back on the sofa and raises his eyebrows in a judging manner, Oliva and Joel remaining silent.

The morning flies by and so do your lessons, more than once you jump in your seat at the sound of a slammed door or hastened footsteps. At the beginning of Potions Professor Trib addressed the class and told them little of what was found in the forest, only that they know it was students messing around.

You have Flying Lessons for lunch.

"We better get as much done as possible before break" says Joel as you walk down the corridor "what's first?"

Nathaniel is the ghost

Oh yeah, the ghost who was disembodied under unknown circumstances, is desperately trying to regain a body, and at one point freaked out when we defied him (I recall something along the lines of suddenly getting red eyes and being very angry).
Now, what character from the HP universe does this remind you of?
>>
>>23808290
I don't remember him ever freaking out about us defying him. He got angry once because we... insinuated he had caused what's-his-face to poison the slytherins.

You walk to the Great Hall and look for her there to no avail, which leads you to library instead. On your way there Harriet comes across your path, her face is pale white but otherwise she looks unharmed.

"Hey" she says "...everything okay?"

>Reponse

Guys, I'm all up for making more friends, but until 'antisocial' gets magicked away, we just don't do that easily. We specificly didn't like her when we met her on the train even

We could go towards that if we pump her for information though, maybe she got a better look at whoever's been in our heads?

We can, however, try to stay civil, if gruff, to get information from Harriet.

"I'm fine" you say, stiffly.

She plays with a lock of her hair as she looks over her shoulder, making sure to look every passer by, her eyes erratic.

Going home could be some really neat RP. I'm interested in learning more about her family and father who seems to be able to turn a complete 180 on his previously favorite daughter. Protego. Since Joel and Olivia showed some of the utility stuff with muffliato and accio, are there some defensive jinxes we could use? Or hell, just learn some more hexes, it's something we have on our character sheet that we apparently NEVER USE

Also, we're far from being a mary-sue. We're clumsy as fuck socially. And we also occasionally fumble spells left and right. We're not Hogwarts model student either. Perhaps the one thing going for us is that we're ambitious--I think. Are we ambitious?
>>
>>23811481

thing is, we got fucked by rolls in such a way that we're massively disposed to do this

I mean, we get over it, we're warming up to the other ravenclaws, but it's ALWAYS going to be a massive struggle for us as a character barring a serious piece of character development
>>

>barring a serious piece of character development
We're not going to discuss the definition of anti-social again are we? Oh, I hope not! But yeah. I see your point. The /tg/ dice gods have not been good to us, and it's caused us to act poorly. But I don't agree. We're just not proactive enough to interact with other characters, be it who we know already or not. And its being done in purpose due to a trait that neither of us have chosen but the dice-god themselves. Being anti-social bites.
>>
>>23811559

yeah i wasn't saying we were anything like a mary sue currently. I was saying as long as we avoid making actions that will lead us that way like the plague i will be happy. I love that we are a clumsy social retard it makes the threads fun to read and offers better story telling.

I'd really like it if we could work through the main story while still doing all the things us fans of harry potter want to do like get lost while exploring and finding some crazy asinine quirk of the castle. You know something like the room of requirement or doors that lead to stairs that lead to doors that lead to the bottom of the same stairs.

Yes but we don't know we killed someone. to a pure blood slythrein house elves are more appliance than people.
>>
>>23812312
I feel the same. Its our upbringing.
>>

What will this do to our character once Millie realizes she's taken someone's life? Or, will she just treat it as if she just killed a fly?
>>
>>23812452
some eleven year olds don't even understand what death is, and we have grown up to think of house elves as lower then the messes they clean.

I don't give a shit at all. But yeah. I have no idea why people think we're smart. I mean, we only have a 16 in our intelligence score.
>>

Given that in the background, we were apparently taken hostage right? Like that's how we got our near-death experience?
I'd say with that in mind, and considering she was raised a Slytherin, Millie is the type of person who's fully capable of taking lives in self-defense.

The problem with Joel is that I wouldn't be surprised if he fancies himself some kind of chosen hero, with the way he immediately decided to trust no one, and relied only on his natural talent and some pilfered potions to save Harriet.
No idea why he isn't in Gryffindor, with an attitude like that.
>>
>>23812879
He is hero-material.
>>
>>23812818
I haven't thought about it in that way.

Because he knows everything forever

Which is why we have to be proactive if we don't want to fall by the wayside and become a sidekick.
>>

Arrogance is gonna be his downfall then. I wonder what the hell is happening to Sam, even if he is a cat, and I'm curious about Robert. He hasn't made a move in quite a long time.
>>
>>23812916
And that's exactly why he has no place in Ravenclaw.
He's intellectually lazy and seems content to just coast on his innate potential instead of bothering to learn things.
And the worst part is that so far it's been working in his favor.
>>
>>23812951

I still think he's the slytherin candidate

So he's probably a zombie-slave now

Kind of remembers me of those jokers who thought they could cruise through college without putting much effort since they cruised through high school without lifting an intellectual finger. They struggled soon enough eventually.

We gotta have steadfast studying habits, guys.
>>

But that's me right now.
>>
>>23812996
I still wonder whether we're zombies ourselves...

HELL! Are we even alive?
>>
>>23813093
STUDY HABITS, MOTHERFUCKER! DO YOU HAVE ANY?
>>
>>23813076
