You finally finish - after burning through thousands of dollars worth of chunks of pure gold as foci - and are left with the collar finally functional. You try it on - just to try it out - and it slowly shifts through a few different shapes as you think at it. It grows cold as it does, drawing heat from your skin and darkening for a moment as it absorbs light hitting it. It works, though, shifting faster with more heat and slower with you don't warm it with your hands.

You suppose you could add some kind of magical clasp for it, or make some kind of magical lock to put on it. Still, the self-powered semi-passive shapeshifting function is complete.

Just leaving electronics in it will recharge them over time, which is good, because this place is pretty far off the electric grid. You find Lin reading a book in the sitting room, listening to music. She doesn't even look up as you come in. Breakfast and Lunch are busy doing lewd things in the corner. You grab a quick bite to eat on your way through the kitchen.

In the bedroom, Liz is helping Selene ride around on Gaviscon's back. They both smile and wave as you come in, and Liz gives you a little apologetic smile for doing something so silly.
