You lobby hard for the notion of scouting ahead, and work your way around to volunteering your services as a scout when pressed so that you can fine tune your strategy. In the meantime your group has swelled to almost a dozen lesser hollows discussing the plot, with a handful cycling in and out of the area to spread the word about it. The Dog seems to be more the cautious type while the Panther quickly becomes the balls of the group, urging you to get started immediately before some other group of Hollows heads over to the place.

After a bit more argument it seems that cooler heads will hold at least until the scouting is done. It seems that they are leaving matters to you, although fellow volunteers for the mission are scant.

Of those who are interested in joining in on your scouting most notable are a bat hollow, a Wurm, a Lizard, and a strangely plumed sort of Hollow that seems a bit... lumpy.

How you choose to organize things is up to your discretion, but keep in mind that the other Hollows probably don't trust you and might have eating you in mind as well.

It is night time, and the moon is gone from the sky. Another hollow might smell only the scent of the flowers nearby, but you can smell the heavy scent of pungent decay that seems to be seeping out from a million places. Through a copse of trees ahead you can just make out the sound of a babbling brook, and on the other side you can feel just barely muted a sense of accumulated dark spiritual presence.

You creep from your place on the hill as the bat takes off over the trees, moving ahead quickly. Your scouting party fans out as it hits the trees, and just as you get out of sight of the others you become as intangible as you can manage.

You slip in behind your fellow scouts, specifically the lumpy one. You've got a feeling about that one. You creep quietly in toward the little creek, and freeze as the lumpy Hollow pauses by the water. After a long moment he proceeds across, and you slip over behind him.

You already know that something must have gone unexpectedly given that the bat was supposed to come back and fly over once to indicate that things were fine up ahead. You ponder the inherent difficulties that Hollows have working together on missions like this. You ponder what the other are doing, possibly even creeping up on one another just as you are creeping behind the lumpy Hollow... wait, where did he go? Damned inner monologues.

You move forward rapidly and glance around, and spot him coming out of the forest ahead. You pass through several trees as the evil feeling reiatsu grows in strength. As you come to the clearing you see a number of hollows standing around waiting out in the open. They seem to be the source of the dark and heavy aura that permeates this place.

As the lumpy hollow steps forward into the clearing you hear one of them pipe up. It gurgles, and after a moment you can tell that it's some sort of snail.

"Well, I took the last one, I suppose someone else can have this one."

A white hollow with long ears strides forward to face the lumpy one. The lumpy hollow begins to grow in size, bulging out along the lumps, and you realize that the strange plumage are actually hands. As the Hollow begins to swell up in size the tiny hands grow into full blown talons, and it begins to resemble some kind of monstrous tree.

In a flash the fight is over: the White Rabbit hollow strikes the lumpy monster directly in the mask, striking with its feet and laying the big hollow out. As it is stunned the White Rabbit begins to dig in, gnawing voraciously at it's body. While you watch the hollow shrinks down and is quickly consumed by the rabbit.

"Well, that was anti-climactic. I suppose we'll have to hope that the next one is a bit more entertaining, since I do so hate it when our tea parties end in boredom."

It is a tattered hollow in a tall hat that says this. It flexes its long hands as it speaks, each finger quivering unnaturally. The snail like hollow glances over in your direction.

"I wouldn't have noticed you if I weren't sensitive to picking up certain types of reiatsu. Care to step forward? The rules are simple: make a meal of one of us or be made a meal of. We were expecting more than this so that we could have a full blown hunt, but it seems that it's just a few today."

"This one, make a meal of one of us? Don't joke, this will be over in a flash." Growls a fox Hollow.

"Now now, we always have new faces cycling in and out here."
