Being a ghost was... awesome. It was amazing to be able to fly around, pass through walls, spy on all of the people you had always been curious about, and run around with absolutely no rules whatsoever. You made your way from place to place playing games you invented largely for your own amusement. However you were even more blown away by something else, a driving curiosity about what hand of fate had dealt you such sorrow in life only to strike you down and give you everything that you had never had in death. What others might have seen as perverse you found... fascinating. You pondered life and death often.

You decide to keep on having fun, because what is food without presentation?

You slip down into the ground below, keeping most of your form intangible as you rush toward the group of souls. They seem to take notice of the big bear hollow as it closes in on them for the first time, and they freeze in terror. As it's paw swipes down to snatch one of them up, the bear raises it's hand to devour... nothing. A simply push and you slid one of the souls aside lightning quick.

Next is the owl's turn: a sudden reversal of direction and a dive from overhead to produce... a lovely bouquet composed of some of the nearby shrubbery courtesy of the old switcheroo.

And the snake, well he just can't resist banging his head on the side of the nearby building every time he tries to strike.

It has only just occurred to the ghosts that they should be running, which they start to do, and it only now seems to occur to your fellows that something is off.

At some point during the chase the herd of ghosts mysteriously thins out to one.

As the ghost reaches the end of his chain he looks up in panic as the great bear hollow snatches up the lone ghost, only to have the ghost snatched from its paw by the owl hollow up above. As the owl attempts to fly off the end of the soul chain is yanked hard and the ghost comes free, slamming into the ground nearby. They both look around for the snake hollow, but seem to realize abruptly that it is nowhere to be found.

An interesting predicament, you ponder, as you pick bits of snake from your teeth. The flavor of the souls is mediocre but not bad, the flavor of hollow is... well, you know you certainly prefer it. As the owl and bear square off you pop in right next to the last ghost as he watches the fight in bewilderment. Only your smile is tangible as it hangs in the air.

"How fine you look when dressed in bewilderment. Your enemies are unfortunate your condition is not permanent. You're lucky, too. Confusion suits so few. "

Before he can ponder what you mean he finds his companions in your stomach and you find yourself alone contemplating the struggle before you.

We should make her one, then.

We're just her guide on her path of utter destruction. Hers... or her enemies. Either or. We shouldn't be picky. But on the other hand, we should teach her the lessons of other hollows we have found... The Walrus and the Carpenter, of course. A testament to gluttony. The Red Queen... a testament to arrogance. The Caterpillar... to laziness.

And so on and so on and so on. It should be too hard to find hollows to fit these archetypes for our use.

And if not, we can just influence their evolution then.
