(3 Fate Points)

We are Millicent Fauxly. Young witch newly accepted into the prestigious Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

We are in Ravenclaw house. Mum and Dad are furious. Our relationship with our rival Maud, a third year Slytherin student, has taken a turn for the better.

Traits:
Near-Death
>A fear of large bodies of water and being unable to stomach foods with obvious fish.
Hexer
>Natural aptitude to hexes, but not trusted by others because of it.
Supernatural Luck: Able to refresh a Fate Point on an 8, 9, & 10 on a d10.
>>
Reading up on the Trident there is a listed event of when it was used in Hogwarts. According to a very old book you found detailing the history of the Slytherin house, Rowena Ravenclaw had the Trident stolen from her possession by Salazar so he could covet her knowledge.

As for the Mannequin you get very lucky. You discover that it is possible to capture spirits and other otherworldly ethers in crystal balls. What's more the entity inside the ball has a degree of control over it...muggles have been known to find these crystal spirit orbs and use them for theatricality.

If you were to build a clockwork mannequin with an orb heart in the middle you might just be able to give Nathaniel the body he desires.

After using up your lunch studying with your Olivia and Nigel you pack up and make your way to Defence Against the Dark Arts. As you enter the classroom with Nigel and Olivia you notice that Joel is nowhere to be seen. Desks and chairs bump idly against one another on the classroom ceiling beside the dragon skeleton as Professor Olivier emerges from the back office.

"Today we will be learning to defend ourselves against harmful spells" he says, drawing his wand and motioning for the other students to come closer. "I will teach you the disarming spell 'Expelliarmus'"

He tells you to pick a partner to duel with.

Millicent is Anti-Social. This is the system-specific trait, not the popular definition of anti-social. She is not socially awkward, shy, or lonely; she actively hates people. But she is not a sociopath (she does feel emotions, and she does understand social expectations and rules, and does follow them, and is not manipulative; she just hates people).
However, being thrust into an environment where she MUST interact with people, no longer having the safe haven of her own room or of Dad and Mum, and with the threat of being disowned, has forced Millicent to begin accepting more people.

This does not mean that Millicent is lonely and wants friends for the sake of companionship or for the sake of friendship; she still feels hatred for people outside of the very small circle of family, familiar, doll, and acquaintance(s).
And that hatred will only subside with time, or her being forced to get to know the person better and becoming acclimated to them.
Her hatred isn't an uncontrolled thing either, unlike her fear of bodies of water or nausea regarding seafood; she can push down that hatred enough to work with people. People can do things they hate, and be unhappy with it but do it all the same.

tl;dr
People have to work hard to be liked or even tolerated by Millicent; Average Joe's can go take a hike, Real Relationships Only.

The blue hued ether of Olivia's spell shoots across the classroom as you scramble in a panic to cast your protective ward. You not only fail to cast the defensive spell you also have the wand shot out of your hand and onto the floor. The wand hits the ground so hard you think it might crack, thankfully this time it doesn't. The sheer power of Olivia's spell hits you in the chest and sends you flying back into the wall with a hefty thud. It hurts.

You pick yourself up. You're going to get this right.

I don't know how many times I have to say this.
She knows how to be polite and even friendly, because that's What Is Done when at a high-society gathering.
But that doesn't mean she likes it, or enjoys it, or will even do it if she doesn't have to.

Sewage workers have to go into the sewers and endure the stench of decaying human offal; they do their jobs and they do them well because that's what's expected of them. But that doesn't mean they like the smell of the sewers or of rotting garbage and sewage.

In the rush of combat you fail to successfully cast the Expelliarmus spell whilst Olivia erects a solid protective ward around herself that would have shielded her from your attack if it were successful.

"That will do for today class" says Professor Olivier as he puts an end to the duels. "Very well done all of you"

The bell rings for the lesson to end.

"Before anyone leaves I would like to mention I am running a theatre performance piece and I need students to parcipate in either a performance or technical role. All those who are interested please see me after class"

Olivia clearly isn't interested as she keeps walking, as does Nigel.

You keep walking. You definitely keep walking. There is no way in hell you'll be helping out considering all the other stuff you have on your plate right now. Besides you've been toying with the idea of joining the Ravenclaw Qudditch team when that opens up.

After a long day you return to your dorm. Thankfully with the rush of students returning you don't have to bother with answering a riddle to enter.

You go to your dorm room where you find Tara on your bed. She leaps down and snuggles up to you immediately. Olivia slumps tiredly onto her bed.

Olivia doesn't consider it that big a deal "he got a permission slip so it wasn't like he was ditching class or anything"

Anti social does not mean we are a social recluse. It means we have a tendency to sociopathy..

We go to parties we have friends. But we find it very easy to hurt them, and we are some of the closest peoples to go shooting our wand at everything that moves if they push us off the edge.

I am tired of this stupid social recluse thing.

its high time we get over it. Would we have a easier time getting over it in Slytherin, basing our social interactions on intimidation and strength? Sure. But Raveclaw is the next best thing, in their meritocratic society.

I read it and it completely misinterprets the summary of Millicent's character.

>I think the majority of the anti-social confusion is coming from how people perceive the name of the trait
Yes, this does appear to be the case. People not understanding what it meant by this specific usage of the phrase Anti-Social. They bring their own assumptions about the term to the character, rather than reading the actual description in the rulebook. Misanthropy would perhaps have been a more accurate term, but we are going by the rulebook here.

>They read it as super hatred and disdain of all life
That is the definition of the term, as it is used in this system. "The child simply has a hatred of everyone and everything around them, driving
them to isolation and performing cruel acts with frightening ease."
Our hatred drove us to social isolation even from our peers in Pureblood high society.

>when in practice it really just means Millie is introverted and doesnt usually like to be around people.
That's using the colloquial definition, neither the definition describing the trait that Millicent has on her character sheet and backstory, or the technical definition from psychiatry.

>The way >>23397116 explained it is almost an exact definition of introversion.
No, it is not. Millicent actively hates people. It is not that she feels drained interacting with them, or that she gives away energy during social contact, or any other the other descriptions of introversion. She hates people, except those that she has made into friends, and is not lonely.
>>

>Why did they ask you?

Also I bring gifts! inb4 I missed one tiny post about how they looked and they are completely wrong.

Still working on the Maud comic, I just had this almost done.

Just nod and tell him we tried to talk to the headmaster about the investigation but he wouldn't tell us anything.

Oh, well then I apologize.

>I was saying that Millie is both hateful and introverted.
I think that the former led to a bit of the latter-type behaviors. But because Millicent isn't necessarily a true introvert, I think that working on the Anti-Social Trait (hateful part) will automatically work to make her more sociable.

Hey, when you finish the Fauxly's, can you do a portrait of the dad looking at the viewer with disdain and the caption "Daughter I Am Disappoint"

I love that tiny cape on dad.

Yes we do. We want to know who pushed the idiot to it. Because he sure as hell does not have the capacity to think it up for himself.

We are a pureblood after all and intrigue and politics are second nature to us.

Someday we'll pass a roll in this thread. One that's actually needed.

We COULD use a Fate Point to reroll.

No.
Unless it's something *really* important, but then HPQuest would have to tell us first.

I'm loving these rolls.

Could we get a one time, "You might want to use a Fate Point" from HP?

We only have 3 per adventure, right? I recall someone saying before there were ways to get more, but I forgot what they were.

I do too. All these Anons trying to roleplay "dangerous bitch" but thanks to the rolls we are "comic relief"

"Do you know anything?" you ask

Joel shrugs "Not really, I was one of the first students to enter the great hall"

"So why did they ask you?"
"I'm not sure. Like I said it was probably because I was one of the first"
"Was anyone else with you?"
"I was alone. There were a few other students and teachers, why do you care so much?"

"It just doesn't make sense - it bothers me. How did he get his hands on the poison? They keep that stuff locked up tight and he's a first-year and was sorted to Hufflepuff, for Merlin's sake, so I don't think he's capable of such a deed as poisoning Slytherins unless he was under a spell or being blackmailed. And he couldn't have done it alone."

Or something like that, I dunno.

1 for the trident
1 for emergency.
