hello, /tg/. How has your week been?

>Last week, we started to prepare for the Gate's opening, but instead ran into a group of angry spooky ghosts. Whom we then slaughtered in our first round of combat. Sally and Frimon Digivolved, and we bonded a little more over their corpses.

"What...what is this?" I ask, and I can hear Sally's breath hitch.

"...a Digivice." She whispers, and I can see a sort of untold joy in her eyes. "It's the final sign of a bond between a human and their Digimon. The sign of our pact, of our partnership." She looks me in the eye, and I can see a veritable ocean of exuberence just waiting to burst forth.

"It's a sign that our bond has been recognized and approved by the gods."

Blinking in surprise, I look between her and the small thing in my hands.

Really? This was of that great a significan-

"Wait...gods?"

Before she can answer, one of the remaining Bakemon cries out in that wailing voice of theirs, reminding me that it's not over just yet.

"...Sally, I'm loving the new look," She virtually preens at that, soaking in the compliment readily. "...but I think one of the things I liked most was the way you kicked that ghost's ass. You in the mood for some more of that?" Now, her proud look twists into something a bit...crueler.

"Of course, Wayne." And then she lifts her other hand, pointing at the sporting goods store.

"Aquary Pressure."

In front of her finger, a circular series of runes appears, glowing bright blue in the night air. At first, nothing happens. Then, I start to notice the air getting heavier and heavier with water, mist forming and settling on the ground.

And then all hell breaks loose.

A torrent of water pours from the rune, twisting and undulating in the air, before pounding into the gathered Bakemon, blasting them through the doors of the store, and through several walls, out the back of the building.

Only a few words come to my mind as I take in the carnage that ensues.

"Holy fucking shit."

Yeeesssss.
I was updating, looking for Gale, and here we are!
Time for Digimon!

Anyway, here's my vote
[X] Stare in open amazement at what Sally just did
-[X] Bring jaw off of the floor, look up at Sally.
-[X]"I'm...thinking we might want to leave, soon. Are the bakemon all taken care of, Sally?"
-[X] "Let's take the stuff we've paid for, and head out of here."

We go with Sally, Zoe goes with Liollmon.
(And, we need to talk to her about giving the guy a name, since that's probably why he's so cold with us)
>>
>>23200533
>We go with Sally, Zoe goes with Liollmon
Just to clarify, I mean Liollmon lets her ride on his back, while we fly around with Sally, as we head off.

This will be the safest, because it keeps us closest to our digimon.
>>
Will this end up with biomerge shenanigans?
>>
Hey, question - the cat around Sally is basically part of her, right?
Or would this be something better to ask of her?

Because i'm kind of thinking Sally carries us, while we carry the part of her that's the cat - Inception carrying, while we head off

So yeah, that seems like something we should probably ask, especially since Sally is our partner, and the gods approve of what we're doing, here.

Ah, ok.
Here's my updated vote, then.

-[X] After a brief moment of silence, look at Sally "Ehm, not that I don't enjoy this whole thing, but how about we get down to solid ground for a bit? Need to find a bike."
>>
Hey, I hope this doesn't annoy you, Gale, but how many points do we have, now?
We spent almost all of it getting Witchmon (which was awesome, and I'm overjoyed that we did it), and after that our dear Sally kicked the ass of lots of bakemon.

Also, I'm still of the opinion that we need to get Sally some homemade food as thanks for saving us from those Bakemon
>>
>>23200619
Hehe, it'll be fun still getting to carry Sally - clearly the digigods understood what is important here.

Anyway, we seem to have some idea of what to do now, I think?
>>
>>23200604
Ah.
Well, not too bad - if we get several days of Digimon Quest, it'll be worth it, IMO.
>>
It shouldn't take long to dig out a bike, drop money for it and then get out, I think?
Especially since it wouldn't be just us looking for it.
>>
>>23200667
>It doesn't annoy me, but you currently (after the last thread's points have been tallied up) have 205 points.
>This isn't based on how many bakemon were defeated, but on the events themselves.

Because from what I can tell, this seems like a decent option.

>>23200822
>200 points gained
It's confirmed, Sally is the best.

How about asking her about the cat first, then >>23200635?
That seems like a decent setup.
>>
>>23200866
Definitely ask about the cat.
>>
have we made sure that all the Bakemon have been dealt with?
maybe there is one we can interrogate. Digimon are not common things in the real world, thusly something big is happening, so getting any information on it will help...
>>

Sure, ok, seems fair.

I'm all for more conversation with Sally, anyway.

better slightly longer, and higher quality, than quick and poor...

except when you take over 10 years to develop something in stages, so that there is clear differentiation in styles...
than that makes it only good as a reference point for stylisation over the period of it's design and development...

It takes me a few seconds to pick my jaw back up, and look away from the destruction Sally's just caused, and back to the digimon herself. The satisfied smile on her lips makes me wonder just what, exactly I've gotten myself, and Zoe, into.

I hear a purring right next to my ear, and turn to confirm that it is Sally's Cat, standing on her arm, and looking at me with its slitted eyes. The little animal's presence brings up a question I hadn't had the chance to ask previously.

"Sally...this cat," She looks at me, a curious look on her face, and I take it as a sign to continue. "Is it...part of you? od just something from your change, or...?" I trail off, and she nods.

"It's the first one. Why?" She cocks her head questioningly, and I smile as I pick the spectral creature up, placing it on my own shoulder.

"Well, now I can carry you, even if you're bigger, right?" She's surprised, like she hadn't even thought of that, and then starts to laugh, before holding me closer, her claws just barely touching.

"If you wanted to be closer to me, Wayne, you need only ask..." She says, and the teasing smile on her face only serves to quicken the blood rushing to my cheeks. Taking a moment to look away, I notice Zoe on the ground, one of her hands on Frimon's head, looking up at us. I can't tell exactly which one of us she's looking at, but the glare tells me it's most likely my partner. As unsure as I am of why she'd be giving Sally that look, I turn to my Digimon and nod to the ground subtly.

"Not that I don't enjoy this whole thing...but how about we get down to solid ground for a bit? We need to get a bike, and I want to see if any of those ghosts are left."

She gives me a bemused look, but nods, the broomstick we're both on lowering slowly, drifting down to a much safer height. Slowly, almost reluctantly, her hands slacken, and she allows me to hop down to the ground.

The concrete is still very wet, and the puddles scattered everywhere are just another reminder of what exactly Sally DID to defeat those digimon. Pushing the unspoken wariness and nervousness down, I head over to Zoe, and, giving her a once over, am relieved to see that she has no injuries to speak of. Looking at the lion-like creature beside her, I'm struck by a sudden realization.

"..Zoe, did you ever think about naming him?" She blinks, and I can see the idea begin to dawn on her.

"You mean Frimon isn't his name?" I shake my head.

"No, it's what he is...was. He's something else now, but it's like calling you or me 'teenager' or 'human.' It's their kind, not their name...I don't think they have names like we do."

The idea is, frankly, just a little depressing, and I can see from her expression that she thinks the same.

>before the rest of the options are carried out, do you want to suggest a name for Liollmon? If not, you can leave it Zoe, and move on to the wreckage and search for your stuff and bike.

>Sualzar poetica

Leon?
>>
>>23202962
I honestly think it'd be better if Zoe came up with a name for him, just like we did with Sally.
It seems it'd be better for them, really.
>>
>>23202948
>Taking a moment to look away, I notice Zoe on the ground, one of her hands on Frimon's head, looking up at us. Oh you poor, naive fool...

But anyway, this was a nice scene.
>>
>>23202974
I like this name - can we have Zoe come up with it on her own? Or would we be the ones who'd have to respond?
>>
>>23202962

Let Zoe come up with a name on her own.

Start searching for a bike.

Complement Sally more.

And fail to realize why Zoe was glaring even if she continues
>>
>>23202962
Aslan
>>
A random idea, seeing as Sally is connected to the cat...
Anyone else curious what'd happen if we scratch the cat behind its ears?
>>
>>23203327

GALE. THIS. NOW!
>>
Zoe should name her partner. we chose Sallys name by ourselves, so Zoe and Liollmon should be granted the same situation. Though, tonight can be spent personally getting to know our partners. After all, some questions are best left for private...
>>
>>23203281
Oh, man, I like this idea.
I'm really hoping Zoe goes with coming up with a name of her own, but still, this is a good name.

>>23203358
Heh, glad i got a response to it; it seems like something would happen, right?
I'm hoping we'll get a chance to do that
>>
>>23203361

>>
>>23203361
Yeah, you're right; I for one would like to talk more with Witchmon in a more private setting (can she remain a Champion for as long as she pleases? Plus, it seems some want earscratching of the cat), and I've already mentioned that I think Zoe should be the one doing the naming here since it's not our place to give a name to her partner (remember how overjoyed Sally was? I don't think it's fair of us to rob that from Liollmon).
>>
So, the general idea seems to be letting Zoe pick the name, far as I can tell.
>>
>>23203629
>Alright, then, any META votes for the name? If not, I'll choose one you've suggested, or come up with one.
>>
>>23203662
I'm fine with either of the ones suggested (Leon, Aslan), really.
Either one would be fine with me.
>>
>>23203662

Lets go with Aslan. I want to make jokes about it with Zoe
>>
>>23203777
I can definitely see Zoe as someone who reads lots of stuff.
>>
I decide not to offer any suggestions, since this is something better done by Zoe herself. Leaving her with a reassuring smile and a hand on he shoulder, I turn to the utter carnage that Sally has wrought upon the poor outdoor and sporting goods outlet.

The building is still standing, but it's flooded, and the hole in both walls is absolutely enormous.

cautiously stepping through the rubble, I find the bags we had placed all our purchases in, only a little damp, and proceed to lug them out of the building. As I'm pulling the last one out, something catches my eye; digging it out, I'm pleasantly surprised to see that it's a collapsing bicycle, the kind that folds in half and is made of lightweight aluminum.

Checking the price, I see that it's easily within range of the money my dad gave us. Putting the cash on one of the checkout counters, I haul the bike out as well, before pausing;

I still have some money left, and there are some useful things in there.

Should I go back and see if there's anything left that's worth paying for?

Rain gear
Binoculars

I snag a length of climbing rope and some equipment from the clearance aisle, and then hunt the shelves for other useful things, finding some water-purification supplies and adding them to the pile. Shelling out the rest of the cash, I pack the purchases up in another of the bags, and set the bike up.

In the distance, I can hear sirens, and it strikes me just how long they took to respond to the situation.

Looking back at the rubble, I can't see any more of the Bakemon, and I can't spare the time to check thoroughly.

As I walk out, one last thing catches my attention:

A pair of goggles. I can't say why, but I'm drawn to them. Plucking them off the wall, I shrug them over my head and onto my shoulders, next to Sally's cat extension.

Finally hurrying out of the destroyed store with the bags and bike, I see Zoe and the Digimon both looking around nervously, and I can hear the sirens getting closer by the minute.

Setting the bike up, I strap the bags to the handlebars and seat, and...

I don't think Zoe can get there on her own, with a bicycle.
So, I think we need to handle it ourselves.

[X] Take Zoe with you on the bike
-[X] Have Sally sit along as well, and use her powers of flight, directed to the back, to speed us up.

This way, we can move really quickly, and be far more flexible about where we go, compared to the cars.
Plus, it keeps us together with Sally, and I don't want her to leave us.
>>
>>23204754

Yeah, I'd say having Zoe ride with us on the bike is probably the most fruitful option, as seeing how Zoe, Sally, and Liollmon will respond is likely to prove insightful.

How late is it? If it's still around midday then we should probably take her to our house. If it's getting late we should take her back home. Also see if we can't get her to bond with her partner.

Is it common for us to spend the night away from home?
Because if not, we should head back, I think.
Especially when this gets on the news.
>>
>>23205961

there is no shame in either dropping hints, pointing out various things or adding attractive options. HK does it all the time...
in the last thread he purposefully put in

because he wanted it to happen while making it look like that is what tg wanted...
>>
>>23205961

a slight bit of realisation has hit me.

That shop had CCTV, yes?
Therefore WE are on said CCTV in the midst of the shops destruction...

also, whatever happened to the staff, or were they slaughtered along with the Bakemon?
>>
>>23205961
So...
I vote we not risk de-digivolving Sally.

If we get to our home, Sally could fly up and through our window, couldn't she?
>>
>>23206029
Yes, I would not mind a hint.

>>23206054
We blasted the whole story with a high-pressure water blast.
I think we'd be safe from being identified.
>>
>>23206054
>I'll address this first:
>Yes, you were on CCTV, but from a camera's standpoint, you're a concerned bystander who is trying to protect his girlfriend(?) from monsters.
>Outside the store, where the real shit started flying, there were no cameras. And if there were, they got hit by all that WATER.

>>23206029
>Your dad KNOWS Zoe wants to spend more time with you, and that she's recently had a relapse.
>He also knows you've been to her house before when you helped take care of her.
>You staying over, and calling your dad on the way, or heading to your house first, then to Zoe's, or even sending Zoe to her own house with Sally then following behind, would not be out of place to him.
>Just a thought.
>>
>>23206171
Hm...
Well, honestly, I think I'd be fine with staying over at Zoe's, then.
It seems like it could be interesting.

Besides, she'd tell us if her parents would come over, so since she hasn't said anything like that, we'd have the house to ourselves, opening up a chance for us to spend time with Sally, and Zoe to spend time with (and name) Liollmon.
>>
>So, Zoe's? Wayne's? Call Wayne's Dad to bring your stuff?
>I'm writing the bike part already.
>>
>>23206388
Well, unless someone changes their vote...it looks like we'll be heading to Wayne's.
>>
>>23206171

does Zoes house have a guest room?
we still both need to spend some private time with our digimon partners...
and we also need to pack our adventure equipment ready for immediate departure. after all, you never know when the gate will open up. hell, it could form in our door-way...

>>23206388
see if we can get Liollmon to take Zoe to her house with the supplies we just got, while Sally and us go and pick up the other bits from dad, with Sally staying out of sight. wouldn't want dad to get any more ideas...
then we shall meet up with Zoe at her place, assuming that it would not inconvenience her. After all, we are a Gentleman, so the ladies wishes are to be respected...
>>
>>23206463
>In the third thread, when Wayne went to Zoe's, there WAS mention of multiple bedrooms, so yes.

>Counting the votes, it actually seems to either be a Tie, or in favor of Zoe's house.
>>
>>23206571

I say to Zoe's house we go! We can call dad later.
>>
>>23206571
Oh!
Well, hey, that's nice.
Yeah, off to Zoe's it is.

It'll give us time to interact with Sally in a calmer situation, while Zoe can talk and Liollmon, so we get everything we want.
>>
im just a little confused as to what were supposed to do now, we got all our stuff, we got our party together now were essentially just twiddling our thumbs
>>
>>23206978
>you are also escaping a crime scene, if that helps.
>>
>>23206388
Wait, why are we calling it a night already, when there are ghosts to track?
>>
>>23206978
Heading to Zoe's, since we can't let the cops see us after what happened.
After that, it's bonding time - between us and Sally, and between Zoe and Liollmon (who seriously needs a name).
Plus we need to pack everything together, in a decent way.
>>
>>23207001
Because this place will be crawling with cops.
We can't stay here, so we can't pick up any trace of them (we didn't even notice any bakemon were left as we hunted for stuff).
>>
I sling my leg over the seat of the bike, and turn to look at Zoe.

"Get on, quick. We need to be out of here, now!" I'm even a bit surprised at how calm I am, considering how bad this will look if and when any cops arrive. Zoe, for her part, seems just as oddly calm as I feel.

It's with a somewhat detached sense that I realize that both of us might be in a state of shock, and a part of me readily accepts that. We DID just watch what we thought were cute little monsters transform and destroy what was basically an army of ghosts.

With Zoe's arms clamped tightly around my waist, and the bags strapped securely to the bike's frame, I begin pedalling, and we take off. A quick glance confirms that Sally and Liollmon are following us, Sally from above and slightly behind, and Liollmon directly to my side, staying as close to Zoe as he can.
>>
>>23207077
The sirens are far behind us now, and I'm pedalling faster than should be reasonable, but I can't find it in myself to care.

Rather than head home, however, I instead steer us towards Zoe's neighborhood, hoping that with her parents gone, her house might be a better option.

We pull up to the front of her house, and I ask if it'd be okay for us to spend the night here, instead of my home. Though a bit hesitant, she does agree, her cheeks a bit flushed, though I dismiss it as adrenaline from the night's events. She manages to unlock her arms from my waist, and slowly climbs off the bike, as though reluctant to set foot on the ground again.

Sally, landing beside us-or, rather, lowering, since she still does not touch down- looks at the house with a thoughtful look on her face.

"It doesn't look as big anymore," she says, and I have to laugh at that. Zoe doesn't, fishing out her key, and unlocking the door.

Once inside, I set the bags down, the bike folding up and going inside one of them, and pull out my cell phone, not the "Digivice,"my actual phone, and dial in the number for my home phone.

My dad picks up, and I tell him that I'll be staying over at Zoe's tonight.

"Wow, son, you work fast, don'tcha?" He ribs, and I have to surpress another sigh.

"No, dad, I just need you to bring over the bags I packed before, alright? And my computer, too."

He laughs, and assures me he will, before hanging up. With an exasperated sigh, I stuff the device back into my pocket, and...

[X] Go talk to Sally
-[X] Try and maybe hint towards Zoe that she should be working on that name thing, while we've got the time?

We're talking to Sally, Zoe should be talking to Liollmon.
>>
>>23207129

this is the plan. let us put it into motion...

however, might i add that after dad has delivered the other stuff, that we ensure that everything is packed and is ready for immediate departure. we could do this while talking to Sally, as it can provide an excuse to either 'miss' questions or to change the subject by asking her to pass us something to put into one of the bags...

after all, in any situation you need contingencies & exit strategies. social interaction is no exception...
>>
>>23207089
>Though a bit hesitant, she does agree, her cheeks a bit flushed, though I dismiss it as adrenaline from the night's events

Oh we're so naive...

[x] Free response: Make food for everyone and then: [x] Talk to Sally

Because if i have been taught anything it is that food makes Digimon go around.
>>
>>23207129
agree, we have a lot of things to find out, like if Sally's new form is permanent or not, whether she'll need to eat more, whether she can even get off the damn broom, etc. etc. and im sure Loe needs to do the same with Liollmon
>>
>>23207193
I like this plan.

Can...can we maybe do the ear scratching thing as well?
>>
>>23207193
>>23207249

RIGHT! The ear scratching, we must scratch the kitten's ear.

Might as well find a whistle too. Ask if Zoe has one.
>>
>>23207221
We were a guy who saw some strange stuff, protected this girl who was with us, and when we got a chance, we ran like crazy.
That seems like a decent enough story, since it's basically what happened.

>>23207231
Oh, yes, good point; we should be able to get something for everyone, that could help with the whole group thing.
>>
>>23207089
Maybe try talking to Sally about what the whole 'digivice' and 'gods' business is about?
Because that seems like something that could be important.
>>
So...
[X] Make food so everyone can eat
-[X]Go talk to Sally, while working on packing everything
-[X]Zoe goes and talks to Liollmon
-[X]Scratch behind Sally's cat's ears, when we get a chance.
-[X]See what we can be told, about the digivice and the whole gods thing.

This is about right?

Seems okay.
>>
>>23207278
Long as we do it in a private place away from Zoe and Liollmon (which would, hopefully, also give them an opportunity to talk about the whole name thing)

Plus, I remember thinking we should offer homecooked meals to Sally, and it's only fair we offer some to Zoe and Liollmon as well.
>>
>>23207278
If she doesn't, I don't think we can really get her one.
>>
>>23207424

I have a question, if we continue to fail to notice Zoe's feelings. for a very long time, it could it perhaps all come out midway through a fight by Zoe yelling at us, calling us an idiot and opening up a new digivolution path?

I'm just asking.
>>
>>23207895
>It very well could, if you play that way.
>I cannot promise you anything of this nature, since it's all dependent upon your choices.
>>
>>23207931

>>
>>23207895
You mean a path for Sally or a path for Liollmon?
>>

-[X]Scratch behind Sally's cat's ears, when we get a chance.
>>
>>23207985
Hell, I like him not having a clue what Zoe's deal is, so I'm behind this.
>>
>>23208021

It would probably be Liollmon Ala Sarah in adventures, bu it could work for Sally too.

Either way free digivolving for someone.
>>
>>23207985
It could probably also just end up being HER alternate path / path to Ultimate/Mega though.
>>
>>23208076

Does Liollmon seem like the jealous type? That could be Hilarious. Damnit Wayne I love you!

Liollmon digivolves.

"Really Zoe? Loving him gets me to digivolve?"
>>
>>23208055
Hm, yeah, ok, I approve; with any luck, we might get some points from such a thing happening, as well.
>>
>>23208105
He seems more focused/cold than anything else, from what we've seen.
Well, ok, we've only seen him while we're around, but still.
>>
>>23207985
You know, to be fair, I don't think we need to put in any special effort to keep him oblivious to anything like this.
>>
First thing's first; I'm sure the others are all hungry. Zoe's sick, and the last time she ate was around noon. Then there's the Digimon themselves to consider...

Yeah, they're going to be hungry.

I head into the kitchen, and take a look around.

The pantries and shelves all seem to be stocked, but there are so many things in here I have no idea what to make. Looking through all the different items, I can't believe that anyone could need this much at any one time.

The fridge, however, is a much more organized affair. Perhaps, I think to myself, because Zoe uses it more often. Sifting through the contents, I eventually happen upon a packege of shredded beef and a bag of wheat buns.

Hamburger it is, then.

I try my best to cook quickly and efficiently, but without hurrying too much and ruining the food. At the same time, I don't want to leave the others alone for too long.

Once the food is done, I toss the patties onto the buns, put the assembled foodstuffs onto a large plate, and carry it with me into the sitting room, where Zoe, Sally and Liollmon have migrated to.

The two Digimon brighten up instantly upon catching sight of the food, though Zoe's reaction is a bit more subdued. Setting the plate down, I notice that Sally is still riding the broom, though she's taking great care not to hit anything with the broom handle.

We all begin to eat, Zoe and myself at what appears to be a sedate pace compared to the Digimon, who are absolutely ravenous.

There's no discussion while we eat, instead enjoying a comfortable silence unbroken save for the delighted sounds of our partners eating.
>>
>>23208384

Once finished, however, I look to Zoe, and suggest she take some time to speak with Liollmon more. He's her partner, after all, and she does have yet to decide on a name, I point out.

She looks a tiny bit apprehensive, but does concede that it's a good idea. Liollmon, ever vigilant, takes the initiative and pads over to her, a serious expression on his furry face.

Sensing the mood, I stand.

"If you'd like, we can give you some time alone," I offer. Taking a moment to think, she agrees, and I head upstairs, Sally following lazily on her broomstick. We end up in a guest room, with myself sitting on the bed and Sally on her broom, still floating, in front of me.

Sending a glance at her means of transportation, I have to ask,

"That broom; are you...I don't know, are you stuck to it?"

She stares at me for a second, then begins to giggle, before shaking her head.

"No, no, nothing like that." Sally then points to a series of belts along her waist and lap, which I hadn't noticed before, leading to the seat bolted onto the broom. "These just make it much, much easier to stay on when I'm flying." To prove her point, she begins to unbuckle the straps, her giant claws actually managing the dainty movements without slicing the leather-I'm assuming it's leather, anyway- into pieces.

With her legs and the broom now seperated, she's free to stand on her own, and immediately, I take note of several things:

One: Sally has very long legs.
Two: Sally, by virtue of these long legs, is actually as tall as I am, where I has previously thought she was just a little bit shorter, closer to Zoe's height.
Three: Sally is standing in front of a window. A window looking out into the street, where I can see my dad's car driving up the road.
>>
>>23208400

She seems about to say something, but the doorbell rings right as she begins, and with a hurried apology, I dart out of the room and down the stairs. Zoe's already standing by the entrance, Liollmon out of sight.

When she opens the door, my dad is standing there, with his goofy grin and a pair of duffel bags in his hands; the bags I had packed earlier.

I'm ready to cut in and send him on his way, but as I get nearer, it seems Zoe has the situation under control, my dad already laughing and making to leave. As he catches sight of me, though, he pauses and yells about being "careful."

My face burning now, I push him out of the hallway and onto the porch, shutting door in his laughing face.

I can still hear him cracking up as he walks back up the drive and into his car, the engine revving as he departs.

Now painfully aware that Zoe knows just what it was my dad thought we were doing, I mumble that I'll let her get back to her talk with Liollmon, and, carrying the bags, climb back up to the guest room and Sally.

Zoe, also red in the face, nods hurriedly, and we both do our best not to speak about my dad's antics.

Sally, on the other hand, has no such thing in mind.

"Wayne, what did he mean by 'be careful?' Who was that, anyway?"

"That," I sigh. "Was my dad. And...nevermind what he meant. It's not important."

She doesn't seems to buy it, but doesn't push the question, thankfully.

She has her cat back on her shoulder, and she's sitting on the edge of the bed, her legs swinging idly.

I could...

Yeah I like those priorities.
>>
>>23208417

well, the first three are directly related to the 'adventure' we are to embark upon, while the fourth is less vital information, and more directly applicable information.

i would suggest business first, in so far as getting the info about the Gods, the Digivice and what the Bakemon were doing in the real world if they didn't have human partners...

Then we can indulge in the personal conversations.

though questions i think would be good to ask her include;
"When you were Sallimon, did you know you would Digivolve into this form?" - does she know her own evolution path(s)?
"how much additional weight can your broom carry?" - how many passangers / gear can she effectively carry?
"in your short time here, do you have any preferences in regards to Foods?" - favorite foods?
"What do you think of my friend? Liollmon seems to... be uncomfortable with me being with her (NOT IN THAT WAY! I SWEAR IT!!!)" - what is the extent of partner relationships (in Sallys opinion)?

we can experiment with the familiar cat petting during the personal conversation part.

Secondly: "How are you feeling now that you're... actually I don't think you've told me the name of this form. Also how did you know you could do magic, and is there anything else you know now that you didn't when you were Salamon?"
Third: "So what was the deal with those... I think Liollmon called them Bakemon? I got the impression that digimon being in this place was kind of a special/rare occasion?"

>7393 words out of 2000 available
>You have no idea of what you speak

"Earlier, you mentioned something about 'gods.'" I say, and Sally nods, her expression shifting to something more serious, now that I've determined the mood of the conversation.

"Yes. I don't know all of it, but I do know that there are five gods who sent us here."

At her mention of "sending," I think back to one of our first conversations.

"You mean...sent to Zoe and me? They're the reason you're here?" She leans back, her large claws propping her up on the bed.

"They are. There's...something wrong, and they need help. Help they haven't been able to get for a long time. It's not all clear to me," She gives me an apologetic look. "But what I do know is that you and I, and Zoe and her partner, are a part of it. A big part."

That all by itself sounds very ominous, especially coming from Sally. I move on to my next question.

"And the 'Digivice?' What exactly is that? You said it's a sign that your gods approved of our partnership, but that doesn't explain much."

She shakes her head at that.

"I myself only know the significance of it. I'm not familiar with them at all, and I only know what I've been given; that it means we are, officially, partners, and that without it, digivolving would be much, much more difficult."

That there piques my interest.
>>
>>23210918
"Why? Didn't you digivolve fine without it earlier?" I ask, and she makes a so-so motion with her hand.

"Sort of. I digivolved from my lowest form, to a form that wasn't much stronger. When I was Salamon, I was, I will admit, very weak compared to other Digimon. That's pretty much natural for my kind in particular. But from Salamon, to this?" She gestures at herself with both hands at 'this,' and I have to admit I can see what she means. There wasn't that great a change in size with Sally's first evolution, but now, she's not only much, much stronger, she changed so drastically.

"So, that's why I need a digivice? To make you stronger, faster?" She nods.

"Stronger, and better suited to my partner. Can you imagine if I had become something unhelpful, or even dangerous, right when you needed me?"

That, too, is a very good point. Though it does beg another question.

"So, Digimon don't have set changes? You could become anything?" She just shrugs.

"Within reason. There are many forms I'll never be able to take, and there are forms I can take that many others can't." Now she grins, and leans forwards, batting her eyes. "You're looking at one of them."

Keeping my eyes locked resolutely on her face, I continue with the conversation.

"So not a lot of Digimon can become...what you are now?" She leans back, her smile still in place.

"Well, if you mean this form, then there are...maybe eight? Eight total, that can become a Witchmon like me." She then stands from the bed, striding closer to where I'm standing. "But if you mean 'your partner'..." She's right in front of me now. "Then no."

"No?"

She nods. "I will be the only 'Sally.' I am your partner, and together, we are meant to do great, great things."

There's something in her words that keeps me still, that captivates me. I try to concentrate on what question I was going to ask next.
>>
>>23210931
"What about those ghosts...the 'Bakemon' we fought earlier?" She frowns, and it's like the haze is lifted.

"What about them?" She's pouting slightly, but she does back away a little, giving me some space.

"I was under the impression that digimon being, well, here, in our world, was a really big deal."

"It is," She says, and walks back to the bed, sitting back down. "They shouldn't have been here at all, as far as my recollection goes. Only digimon given leave by the gods are sent through, and they're in very small numbers, not in packs like that."

"Oh." This is somewhat worrying, but Sally waves off my concerns.

"But that's what I'm here for; to keep you safe. So don't fret about that, alright?" Surprisingly, this time, she's the one who changes the subject.

"But you know, I myself didn't know I'd become a Witchmon. There were a good many other forms I could have taken, but for some reason, this one was what I got." She then shoots me another smile. "But I don't mind about that. This way, I'm able to protect you much better, I think."

"Does that mean you don't know what you'll become next?" I ask, and she nods.

"Unfortunately, I won't know until I actually change. But it's not so bad, I think. No matter what, from here on out, I can only get stronger." She's serious about protecting me; I can read it in her words, her body language, her expression. She means every word of what she's saying.
>>
>>23210938
She then taps her chin with one of her claws, humming while thinking to herself.

"Though, I had thought I would have changed back, by now... it's been quite a while since I digivolved."

"...you can change back?" I ask, honestly surprised. The way she had been talking, I'd assumed all the changes were permanent.

"Of course I can. Some digimon don't change back often, though that's usually after a long time, not a short period like this..." She's still thinking, but I don't see anything wrong with Sally staying the way she is; like she said, she likes this form better, right?

She laughs when I tell her as much.

"That's true, I suppose." She says, "I think I got lucky, mostly. For one thing, I have such a good partner." I have to fight a blush as she laughs. "And then I was able to become powerful enough to protect you in such a short time. That's not something that happens very often with us digimon."

Trying to keep the conversation flowing, I ask her about herself.

"Oh? Haven't we been talking about me this whole time?" She looks a little bemused, but also pleased that I asked.

"Well, that's you as a digimon," I say, trying not to stumble over any of my words. "But I mean you as a person. What you like, or don't like. Favorite foods or anything? That sort of thing."

"Well," She says, "I DO have a fondness for apples...not that I know why, really." But when I ask her about the other things I brought up, she laughs and wags a finger at me. "Those are things people should find out over time, aren't they? There's no fun in telling you everything about me in one go, is there?"

I'm forced to concede defeat here; not because I agree, but because she won't say any more on the subject.
>>
>>23210946
Moving on, I somehow turn the topic to Zoe.

"So...what do you think of my friend? I mean, Liollmon doesn't seem to like me being with her-" I stop as Sally's face falls. "huh? What's wrong?"

"Are you two...a..." She searches for the right word, "A couple?"

"What?" I ask, then I realize just what it sounded like I said. "OH! No, no! I'm not- We're not a couple! We're good friends, I took care of her when she was sick years ago, when we were kids." Sally's expression brightens immensely at this, and smiles widely.

"Oh, alright then." She seems to be in a much better mood now. "As for Liollmon, I can't say I blame him- Zoe's his partner, and she's already sick, right? Naturally, he'd want to protect her as best he can, but when she's in a condition like that, he can only protect her from others, not herself. So to him...maybe everyone is a potential threat to her?" I blink, and just think about that.

In a way, it does make sense.

Idly, I wonder if I should go check on the two, or if I should continue talking with Sally. And then there's always the option of checking on my laptop...

It's happening.

Lets check our laptop.
I want to see if we're smart enough to know what DGDSTND means if you fill in the vowels.
Or hell, maybe Sally knows.
>>
>So are we talking to Sally more?
>Looking at the laptop?
>The digivice?

Check the digivice while talking to Sally. Ask if she has any questions. And scratch cat!Sally's ears.
>>

I'd say try fiddling around with the digivice, but first we should check with Sally to make sure we won't accidentally make her explode or something.

I walk over to the bed, sitting next to Sally and pulling out the Digivice. Taking a closer look at it, I can see that it has two screens, and opens like an older phone than the touch-screen ones that are everywhere these days. It also has what appear to be the standard buttons a normal phone would have, yet they're all unmarked. At the end, it does have the slits associated with a phone's microphone, but why it would have that, I can't say.

As I have no idea what any of these buttons or the thing itself do, I show the device to Sally. She examines it for several minutes, not pressing any of the buttons, but just observing. Every now and then, she'll make a hm noise, turning the red and silver contraption over and over in her hands, before eventually handing it back to me.

"I have no idea what any of that does." she says, finally.

Giving up, I lie back, staring at the ceiling. Sally, looking at me from her own vantage point, looks between me and the ceiling, before mimicking me and lying back as well.

"...What're we doing?" She asks, and I have to chuckle at her.

"I don't even know anymore." I mutter, and reach out to where Sally's cat is sitting, reaching behind its head to scratch its ears. As my hand nears the cat, Sally stiffens, but doesn't say anything. As I begin to scratch, she shudders, and then sighs. The cat itself keeps purring.

"Hey, Sally?" I ask, still scratching.

"Y-yes?" Her voice sounds a little shaky, but when I glance at her to see if she's alright, I can't see anything wrong.

"...I've been asking about you a lot. Anything you want to ask about me? What do you think about me, as your partner?"

She 'hm's, and then falls silent, thinking.

"I don't have much I want to ask you," She says, pausing as I scratch a certain spot on her cat's ear. "But...I think you will be a good partner. You're a good person, I can tell, and you focus on those you care for. Those...are the most important things for us. For me, that is." I stop scratching, and look at her out of the corner of my eye.

"Really?" She nods, and closes her eyes.

"...Wayne, could you keep scratching?"

I blink.

"What?"

"The cat. I feel what it feels. And what you were doing to my ears...it felt nice."

Looking between Sally and the cat, I realize just what exactly I'd been doing.

"...oh. You mean..."

"Yes. That was quite relaxing. Something akin to...a massage, maybe?"

Working extra hard to keep mental images from springing to mind, I laugh nervously, and keep scratching.

Sally sighs again, and is soon asleep, an utterly peaceful look on her face.

I get up slowly, grabbing one of the spare blankets and placing it over her, before quietly leaving the room.

>Last post of the night, I'm afraid, and like I said, tomorrow won't be a questing day.
>However, I will do my best to clear up other days for questing to make up for it.
