We join the Helghast Armored Unit, deep in the forests of Stormwood. For the second time in less than a year, they are fighting for a nation other than their own. At the request of Queen Arthur of Iffram, they have been dispatched to secure a staging point, pitted up against a group of insurgents named the Dragon Army. Refusal of this request would have spelled disaster for the Helghast, as their very presence in Iffram is enough to cause a diplomatic incident. The fighting so far has been fierce, and casualties are already rising for both sides...

Alright here's the deal. Suggested movement/firing targets are labeled in green/red respectively. You can ignore them if you have a better idea, don't feel like listening to me, etc. Blue flags are prospective flag locations for maximum coverage (this does not necessarily make them optimal locations).

Conrad, move to the side and get that giant on its knees so it exposes its head to attack. Azure, spot it for me while you move up, I'm going in for the kill. And Sergeant? Watch out, they seem to be using siege weapons to bombard your location.

Perturabo, get into a position to disrupt both their casters with that earthquake, it'll hopefully tie them up long enough for us to gain some ground (and prevent them from doing anything tricky with that fire). I would have you do it to that giant but that risks penalties to friendlies. Alternately you could try and kill one of those casters now but I expect you'll be safer underground than above.

Rest of you avoid those flames. Alternately find a way to put them out, we don't need a forest fire on top of our other concerns.

Don't expect as coherent a battle plan from me once the game gets going. We've got some planning time now so I intend to use it.

Alright. I think we've got the logistics in place for two more platoons. I think I'll be using one myself but I'll approve a platoon for someone who wants it.

>Platoon Squads: From the old manuals
Units can now have platoon strength troops comprising of up to 3 combined units and no more than 2 types. Example; a Platoon with Vanguards and Assaut will be [VAV1] , [AAV2] [VAA3] or [AVV4]. Upgrades will be communicable across all members of your unit.

Platoons cannot break unit cohesion and cannot be spaced more than 1 hex apart. Unless given the order to " Post " in which the unit will remain stationary until called. In which case they will make it to your Platoon at their best possible speed and only that.

At the end of each action Platoons must take special care in how they are formationed. Box, Circle, Arrow, Line, and Wall formations are among the most basic formations. With sub variations in scatter. 2scatter means no more than 2 members occupy a space. 1scatter means the unit is fanned out as best as possible. Also take into account which units will favor the front, and which will bring up the rear, this is important in determining attack patterns as the front will typically attack first with rear on clean up.

Attack Pattern:
Designate attack patterns in chunks of Front, Rear, Leftern or Rightern in combination with unit type to make processing easier. With 3 squads under your unit, micro ordering by single units will not get processed.

Movement: The platoon will move only as fast as its slowest Unit. However, faster Units can extend to the front of elongated formations.

And other AOE capable units like Enemy Armor, Ms Casters, and easily identifiable traps.

NEW RAGNYLL UPGRADE RULES !

Class upgrades - 6, unique to each class, numerical stats only except ACT*

Aspect upgrades - 3, follows each class, qualitative, fits animal loosely
-Numerical aspect bonuses are now available as class upgrades

Demihuman upgrades - 3, follows each class, qualitative, fits loosely creature type

CO Aura - 1, tied to class, army ranking pre-req.

Act Rule:
Acts are no longer upgradeable as a class stat. And since it is a numerical stat, cannot be upgraded through Aspect. Acts also cannot be conferred through Command Aura. Indeed the only circumstances in which Act may increase is through personnel acquisition, changing classes, some aspects that confer it, and weapon load outs that re-configure act.

Class Rule:
Every class can have 6 upgrades that are numerical in nature. These do not transfer between classes. Each upgrade costs 10 xp. Act cannot be upgraded. Any upgrade purchased this way takes up one of the 6 slots available to that class.

Command Auras:
These upgrades can be upgraded again [10exp] to make them Command auras that will confer these upgrades to units of lower rank.

Command Auras may be improved by upgrading a personal upgrade of a similar type once again .

CAs can only affect Infantry, Armor, Weapon Type, or Class type depending on the nature of the CA.
Units must be of lower rank.

Aspect Changes:
Once you purchase an aspect their base upgrades can now be an upgradeable stat that counts as a class upgrade.

How does this effect my aspect upgrades:
1) Corpse Stealth: Stealth is automatically achieved (no actions or movement required) when occupying a Hex containing the remains of a unit (infantry or armor).

2) (new one) Beetloid Readiness: Autoreload at the end of each phase. Must declare what is being reloaded if applicable
2[alternate]) Fumigation: New Ammo Option: Poison Smoke. Acts as poison, but inflicts 1 wound per phase to any units remaining inside of it.
2[alternate2]) Dung Beetle's Building: Once per battle, construct shelters that absorb all damage (bar destroy) until the following action phase.

3) Scarab's Jaws: All explosive weaponry is now Destroy damage (Covers grenades, blast grenades, bombs, bazookas/missile launchers, rolos, and Heavy Rains, as well as any future "bomb" type weapons dependent upon explosive or incendiary properties).
