This place hasn't been messed with in 15 years, I don't think people have stumbled across those doors for a while or that they'll notice it being closed. The repulsion might only work if it's powered, if it had been found even with the wards someone would have found a way in. Closing them makes people less curious and less likely to barge in. If it's open people will try to come in thinking it's abandoned or see that there's signs of recent activity.
