Previous thread.
Right now we're weathering a blizzard inside our cave-fort. Twenty magically gifted goblins decided to leave, they seemed to make this decision with their own will. Oh well, more food for the rest of the goblins. The tribe has nothing but free time right now.

Seeing as how there was very little material to work with, the goblins began mining into the cave even further, creating deeper networks of rooms to sleep in, they found that the farther they mined generally the warmer the rooms became.

One of the dumber goblins stepped outside to get some fresh air, he came back screaming about seeing snow monsters lurking just outside the entrance. This is both strange and forboding, the goblins don't exactly have much in the way of weapons (spears and javelins) so if something big tries to enter the cave they don't have much to stop it. The cave entrance is somewhat fortified, many boulders are stacked to form a makeshift rock wall, the actual open entrance is just big enough to fit two goblins in.

Just to the east is a small forest that contains a lake, within this lake the goblins have been hunting the dreaded maw fish, carnivorous fish as big as a goblin, it has a huge mouth full of fangs. The goblins use these fangs in order to create spears and 'stabby-sticks'. Farther to the east is a large tower that pierces the skies, it is impossible to see the top as midway the tower becomes enveloped in an eternal blizzard. The goblins explored the first few floors, but was briefly stopped by a rock golem.

Under threat of attack the goblins start to create a new type of weapon, one combining both their deadly ice bolts and their superb creativity. Behold, the bolt launcher!! A large circular object made out of bone, a smaller circle is held in place at the center of the device by rigid wooden sticks. By focusing their magical power at this smaller circle the goblins can properly aim and shoot ice bolts at their enemies. They call this weapon the 'icey shoota'. The blizzard will clearly end soon.

A fight has broken out among two goblins, the first says that the other called his wife a maw-fish, the other says that the 1st goblin lost a bunch of good in a gambling game. The 1st goblin's wife says that her husband is telling the truth. The 2nd goblins son says that the 1st goblins wife is lying. The 2nd goblins boss says that he is telling the truth.

Goblins aren't known for their civility, or their speeches, but somehow it would seem Chief Grogut, our glorious leader, managed to calm down the unhappy goblins by giving a speech.

[B]
The goblins crafted wooden chest plates and bracers, these alone wouldn't protect them much, they had an interesting idea. They would take dozens of maw-fish teeth and attach them to the wooden armor, creating BITE ARMOR. It is glorious (for a goblin.)

The goblins go back to work fishing at the ice lake, food starts rolling back in. The goblins desperately want to explore, and even more so, go to war!! Bad things happen when goblins don't have someone to fight, we need to find another civilization to screw over!!

The goblins explore the land around them, trudging through the cold winter wastes. The cold seems to get intenser as they travel farther and farther away from their home. After a few days they find a cave, and not just any normal cave. This cave had shiny silver metal inside, it was just filled to the brim with the ore. Knowing that this was a blessing, the scouting party built an encampment inside the cave and fortified the entrance. They mined out a bunch of the ore and returned back to the tribe. "Chief, this ore is valuable, it's easily shaped, we can make things out of it! It is far, far away from this place, we will have to send a large party to build a proper town at the mine if we wish to fully reap it's rewards." The ore is experimented on, it's silver and shiny, it seems to be easily crafted, but it's soft and weak, not fit for the creation of weapons. The ore itself is imperfect, stone is still embedded in it, the goblins don't know how to purify it. Grogut names this ore 'winter-rock'.

[B]
A particular warrior found that a short spear is only good for certain situations, he created himself a custom spear, one that was many times longer than the original. He found that it works very well at keeping opponents at bay, he was awarded honors for his great idea, and soon a new type of spear was created for use among the warriors, the long-spear.

[A1]
The goblin has been promoted to the official craft master, he is honored and now spends his days creating weapons and thinking up new weapons for the warriors to use.

[A]
The goblins start to dig deeper into the ground, creating huge shafts in the earth, they start to find more minerals, copper, tin, and iron. They also find a new species of creature, rock-fiends, giant 10ft creatures with thick black flesh, they are humanoid and can see in the dark, they seem to spend their time literally eating the rock walls, they have incredibly strong jaws and they can secrete a special acid from their mouth. Tunneling down any further is dangerous, as it is likely that they will tunnel straight into another rock-fiend cavern. Meanwhile better pickaxes are made to allow for better mining.

Disaster! A few hunters come back reporting that over a hundred human warriors charges out from the forest and slaughtered all of the fishermen! They are the only survivors. The humans had large black beards and wore rugged fur armor, they wielded metallic axes and swords, wearing thick wooden shields with symbols painted on them. They also recall seeing what seemed to be their leader riding a large white bear and holding what seemed to be their flag banner, a red flag with a black sword symbol painted on it.

The twenty missing goblins return, they glow blue with magical essence, they explain that a demigod of ice spoke to them and awakened their true powers, they are no longer goblins, but manfiestations of ice magic.

[B]
The goblins can't seem to mold these new metals into anything, they're just too hard and rigid. Some goblins try to mimic the swords that the human raiders had, but they can only mimic the rough shape of them. They basically wittle a thick stick of wood until it looks like a sword (albeit with a flat edge) and then they attach a bunch of maw-fish fangs to the edge to form a 'blade'. The end result is somewhat similar to a sword, but instead of a blade it just has a bunch of sharp teeth. The weapon is named the 'teethed-blade'.

[D]
The stealthiest goblin in the clan tracks the human raiders, but he loses them after a few miles. Their tracks seemed to disappear into the snow, one of the many disadvantages of living in such a cold environment.

[D]
Trying to tame a rock fiend was a bad idea, one goblin almost died in the process, these creatures are territorial and hate it when others encroach in their caverns. Attempts to capture one of these strong creatures ended in complete failure, the goblins have no way to really hurt the beasts let alone knock them unconcious, hell, even dropping a large rock on their head didn't do anything. Perhaps if they can lure them out of their caves they would be weaker? The denziens tell the chieftan that the demigod of ice might be kind enough to provide more of their kind, but unlikely. The denziens show the chief their power, they are very powerful at magic, they can shoot volleys of ice bolts and summon up blizzards if they work together.

The children have grown to become adults, they may now fight and help work on projects.

It's fairly difficult to find food in the dark cold caves, besides the occasional giant spider or cave bat there's nothing to eat. Perhaps the rock-fiends? They'd be extremely difficult to kill though. For the time being the food supplies have been supplemented, but it is unknown how long this can be kept up.
[D]
On the search for some sort of mushrooms, sadly the goblins do not find any mushrooms, maybe it's just too cold in this environment. You'd think there'd be some in the caverns, but there isn't . Maybe the goblins need to dig deeper.
[C]
The goblins can now create objects and small structures out of pure ice. The unique property about these ice-goblins is that they do not require wizards to use magic, every one of them has the innate ability to use and improve their magical abilities, all that is required is time.

[D]
The goblins dig deeper into the ground, they punch into a new cave, a much larger one than before, it's full of strange glowing mushrooms and glowing mice that feed on the shrooms.
[D]
