Hello again! Let's wrap this up, shall we? In this arc, an assault on the freighter Kurage Maru by a fresh band of Cayman Pirates turns hairy when they find Triumvirate soldiers inside! And then from hairy it gets bloody, and it's like some kind of demon barber mess afterwards. Also, what is this 'Epsilon Drive' the Triangles speak about?

Allrighty, here is the ENEMY PHASE.
Grog has managed to gain control of the left engine, turns out it's also linked to the right engine. You can hack the right one from the left console this way.

In other news, Chrysalid the killbot stops due to unopened doors and overwatches instead. Everybody in the bridge is tensed up, ready to jump on whoever's in the cockpit...
Meanwhile, Jonsy tactically retreats, his meat shield tactic seems to be working. But how long can he last?

And here we go. You guys are racking up quite a lot of Tacs.
The pilot yelled, "OH GOD DON'T KILL ME!" as the conscript behind him goes in a hail of gunfire.
Jonsy's frenzied laughs reverberate and echo through every local comm channel, indicating that the ship is theirs. Only one enemy left in the engineering section, continue fighting y/n?
Because it's pretty much MISSION COMPLETE at this point.

The pirates rejoiced, for they have managed to spear the whale and took the holy grail that is loot! And now for this 'Epsilon Drive' thing, we gotta ask Hoshino about it.
>>
very nice. Alright kiddies, lets collect the passengers and get em squared away. Then we can exmaine our prize.
>>
>>23060355
Ah yeah, you see that 188 Tac points? You can convert them into exp at a 1 to 1 rate. Or you can save them for next mission, or trade them in the black market... possibilities are endless.

And oh, speaking of Hoshino, I've gotten ahold of her channel. She should be connecting anytime now.
In the meantime, steer this rust bucket to Blue Angel! Ya can't miss it, it's near Ceres and the biggest Cayman hideout in the asteroid belt.

"So yeah, any questions and such, while we're here?"

Allrighty, if you guys want. 92 Tac points for next mission, while the rest gets split 8-ways. Which means 12 extra exp for each of the survivors. Don't spend them all in one place.

Got anything else to ask Captain Hoshino about?

"Man, you guys ARE fresh off the habs. Well, there's been this big war going on between the Aquila Union and the Triumvirate, right? This happened in Earth. Now, the Aquila won, and they rule Earth. And the Triangle guys get kicked out to Mars. Lucky for them, they found lotsa metal in the red planet."
"And then there's us, the Caymans! We can exist because we raid both sides, and we stick to the shady parts of the solar system. Like the asteroid belt or the Oort cloud. Anyways, for you newbies, stay clear of both Earth orbit and Mars orbit, there's tons of Aquila and Triangle bases and cap ships patrolling them."
"So far there's a kind of uneasy peace between the Triangles and the Aquilas, but who knows what will happen tomorrow. Which means bad for us as well if they ever get hot again, we can get crushed hard if they do."
"That's why us Caymans are starting to organize, by letting small crews like yours to choose a Captain to 'work' under, so we don't fight against each other. Or something like that."
"As for technology, you can see that us Caymans scavenge from both Aquilas and Triangles, and so we need to know about their tech as well. Aquilas, they're the high-tech guys, having hovertanks and shielding on their every damn thing. Triumvirate, on the other hand, they have pre-war tech, but their tech is quite robust. > >I am very interested in whatever this is and would like to participate.

Pirate Gentleman needs to upload the character classes each map. Since he hasn't, for you newbies, here's the class list: At the first mission we could only buy Skirmish Crew, Assault Crew, and Combat Hacker, notice how there's an abreviation in the bottom lefthand corner of each upgrade box? They correlate to a class.

Your character can pick 1 class.

Your character can switch between the equipment of that class between missions, and inside of the "Starting area" of your mission (usually a drop-ship, or a boarding pod), you cannot, however, switch between classes.

You write out your name as a Tag with your class and equipment type, and a number in it (see mine? Notice how on the maps above there's the symbol for an Assault Crew member, with a little 3 hovering over it? That's why there's a 3 in my tag). Then I write in my character's name, and then I have my tag of "#blahblahblah" so that people know it's actually ME posting, and not some poser trying to crib on my posts and ruin the game.

All rolls in this game, ALL ROLLS, are done with a d10. Lower is better. Any time you see a number in a box, you are trying to meet or get lower than that number. No matter what though, 1's are always critical hits (doubly effective), and 10's are always critical misses (you miss, and there's the potential of something bad happening. Very occasionally this works in your favor, for example, I once got it on my turn, and didn't shoot at all, so my ammo wasn't used up, but if I hadn't had somebody shooting at the same target, I'd have gotten a face full of BULLET).
>>
>>23064065
>Pirate Gentleman needs to upload the character classes each map. Since he hasn't, for you newbies, here's the class list

sorry about that, he uploaded it between sessions.

There are two other classes he hasn't uploaded yet, we don't have access to them yet. They are Sniper (Snpr) and Assault Suit (Ass), Anything with just those abbreviations on the upgrade sheet can't really be bought yet.
>Going out on a limb here and assuming that PG will let people who don't spend exp on their class when they start playing early, will be allowed to freely switch to those two when they become available.

Anyway. MORE RULES

Your character has 4 resources.
-Health (represented by the little Hearts): Larger hearts = 1 HP, a smaller heart = 0.5 HP. So Skc have 2 HP, Asc have 1.5 HP, and Coh have 1 Hp. If you run out of HP, you are dead. You will notice that you can die very, very, very, very, VERY quickly in this game. Which is why it's a tactical bullet hazard, and not a quest. Do not get attached to your character, chances are, you will die, or, you might end up being freaking awesome like Jonsy managed to be (and that was by sheer, dumb, fucking luck and using bodies as shields all the damn time, one lucky shot after that first hit and I was toast. I was running around with only 0.5 hp that entire map, so I thought 'fuckit, might as well be a crazy pirate and do crazy shit before I'm capped!')
-Movement (Mov): This is how many hexes you can move per turn.
-Actions (Act): This is how many THINGS you can do. Shooting is an action, most special abilities are an action (Adrenaline Rush and Combat Focus, the class abilities of Asc and Skc are free actions however, because they're entire purpose is to give you a single turn boost).
-Ammo (represented by the little revolver cylinder): Every time you fire off your weapon, you use up some of it's ammo.
>>
>>23064182
>Going out on a limb here and assuming that PG will let people who don't spend exp on their class when they start playing early, will be allowed to freely switch to those two when they become available.
Correct! And if they did spend some exp, they must pay at least 50 exp for a class change. This reflects the fact that they have to learn the specializations of that particular class. And if their upgrades conflict, they can sell it back to the Black Market... but at a lower price than the buying price, of course.
>>
>>23064182
YET MORE RULES!

Now then, what can you actually -do- in this game? Besides move that is? Each of the following uses up AN ACTION! SO LISTEN UP!

-Attack: This can be melee or shooting. You will notice next to each picture of a weapon, there is a range in Hexes (Hx), this is how far away you can attack. Obviously melee can only hit adjacent stuff except in special cases (there's a melee weapon called a buster sword with a 2Hx range because it's bigger than most people are).
-Hack: Anyone can do this. Once a consol has been hacked, you will have access to all other consols connected to it. You are able to hack along those connections for however many hacks you have. For example, a Coh has 3 acts, so they can hack one thing, then hack (through the connections) 3 other things. You can see an example of it going on in this page, where our combat hacker in the engine room shuts down both engines from just one of them!
-Overwatch: If you have actions left at the end of your turn, you can overwatch, which is to say, shoot the enemy when they act on their turn when meeting the criteria specified in your overwatch. Usually it's simply "When they move into my arc of fire in the direction I specified when I declared the overwatch action"
-Run: You can give up ALL your actions to double your Mov for a turn. This means if you have 1, 2, or 3 actions, you can only double your Movement ONCE, and even then, you cannot act after doing so.
>>
Okay, I think I get the gist of what I'm being told here. Next session is supposed to be in two weeks, right?
>>
>>23064497
FINAL RULES

You can also do things like go prone, which is either a free or a movement action (uses up a point of movement) to go prone. Going prone increases your hit rating (the number in the box by your weapon) for ranged weapons by 1, and makes you harder to hit, but you move at half speed. Pretty sure the Assault Suit (really needs a better abbreviation) can't go prone (you'll see why when we get it).

You can also climb, which is half movement, and lets you climb a surface vertically

You can jump, (vertical jumps are half move, horizontal jumps send you as far as your "Speed" (how far in a straight line you moved that round). Unlike climbing and regular movement, jumping lets you bypass gaps in your way. So if you have to jump across a trench, then you can take a running jump at it. If the trench is say, 2hx wide, and you move atleast 2 hexes in a straight line towards it, and jump from the edge of the trench, you'll jump over it.

That covers pretty much everything that's formalized within the game. You can do other things (like my deal with grabbing a body and using it as a shield) but that's all basically roleplay and made up on the fly. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If you've seen somebody of your class and with your equipment do it before, it's a safe bet you can do it too.

>>23064550

>>23061659
"Soooo... Bambang. I think I'll get some of that armor... and how fast acting are those sleep darts ehn? Instant take down or do ya need to hit them once for each normal bullet you normally would? How long does the toxin last? And does where you inject it matter? Like, if it works on the brain, then a headshot would be an instant takedown with one anyway right? or if it were to the muscles, a shot to inject right into their heart would pretty much do it right? And I'm guessin' armor and shields will out right nullify it..."

> -20exp for Additional Armor
> New EXP Total: 24

"Secondly, we're in the market for some... special ammo. Explosive rounds as it were. Preferably for all weapons, but if we have to pick just one, then we want 'em for our Hacker's shot guns you know? Another good thing, something we're not in the market for -yet- but are lookin' to be, is some kind of ammo that'll get us past shielding, I'm none too comfortable with my pistols not being able to headshot -everyone-, but since I doubt we're going up against the birdbrains in blue any time soon, it's not priority"
