You know the rules, 2d20, first determines priority of action in case of conflicts, second determines success of the action itself.

What happened last time? Well the acolytes went to a mining platform and managed to semi-commandeer a merchant vessel that dropped by, got themselves some weapons and gear, and now are just entering the warp, 4 days of travel away from the coordinates given by their Inquisitor, Karras, to deliver that box everyone loves so bad. Aside from a bit of a standoff with the miners, not too much else happened as far as fighting goes. But, Berold may have met someone, we can see how that goes. (Cont. in first post)
>>
>>22912421
The acolytes, along with a few character traits they seem to have picked up:
>Sebastiano Berruti - Scum - Autogun/Obnoxiously-Gold-Trimmed-Handcannon/Flamer. Thinks himself a ladies man. He's actually not half bad. Right eye's been replaced with a pretty high quality aug made my Hadrak, able to shoot lasers and such. Is able to pull a higher gothic accent off really well for some reason.
>Hadrak Abajian - Techpriest - Lasgun/Mechandrites. Kleptomaniac, particularly keeps on stealing Sebastiano's autopistol. He's friendly enough, although a bit cold while he's working. Doubles as the medic. Got a hold of a deflector field generator and fixed it up. Also has Seb's autopistol, and has built him a leg that he hopes to replace the organic one with at some point.
>Nora Hinfalliger - Arbites - Combat Auto-shotgun/Revolver. Not originally with the party. In a relationship with Kirstin. Doesn't seem to care for most of the party members aside from Kirstin.
>Kirstin Fritzen - Guardsman - Lasgun/Heavy Stubber/Grenades. Burn on her neck from a lasbolt. In relationship with Nora. Closest thing to a straightman in the group, except she isn't straight and isn't a man.
>Berold Schuster - Assassin - Longlas/Silenced Pistol. Very shy. Very bad at talking to people. Met a nice girl at the shooting range though.

And we begin:

It's 1250 hours. Berold sits in the bunk, clutching the note from yesterday. Hadrak lies in a bed in the same room, exhausted after his all nighter (doing what?). Sebastiano lies on the floor, suffering from two layers of hangover. Kirstin's trying out her new stubber at the firing range. Nora's looking around the shipboard merchants for interesting odds and ends to buy.

What shall we do?

>>
>>22912458
Hadrak gets up and pulls the leg out from his bedside chest, where it stays alongside the courier-box. He looks it up and down for a little while, before coming to the conclusion that not much else can be done with the leg before stepping into the realm of tech-heresy. He then decides that he might as well occupy his time with a different project, grabs the little field generator he now carries with him everywhere, and walks off to the workshop, mentally planning out a new arm for Sebastiano.

In his hungover state, Sebastiano doesn't make it far out before dashing into a nearby washroom and closing the door. He can be heard retching for a little while after. And no, no one goes to join him in there.

Berold meanwhile finds himself alone in the bunk, and decides that now's as good a time as any to go up to canteen B to meet that girl from the range. He stands up, and looks at himself in the mirror. He tucks his shirt in. He untucks it. He wishes one of the girls was here to comment on this, they'd probably know how to dress up. He grabs his rifle and leaves.

Canteen B is on the same floor as the bunk, and sits atop a balcony above an open space where various vendors have set up shop. Berold enters, and sees no one around. He checks his chrono. He's two minutes early. He doesn't feel hungry at all, and sits down at a table by the edge of the balcony, scanning the tables. It's mealtime, but most of the menials and vendors go to the larger canteen A.

She's one minute late when he sees her walk in. She gets a tray of gruel with a glass of water, then spots him, smiles, comes over and sits down across from him. He looks across the balcony, and when he looks back she's frowning at his rifle, leaning on the third, vacant chair. She looks back at him with a slight grin.

"Why did you bring you're rifle? We're off duty, you know."

Berold stayed up late reading that book on social advice. "It's just in case. You never know out here." She smiles, and he smiles back.

"My name's Ellyn. What's your's?"

"Berold. How long have you been shooting?"

"Long as I can remember. You?"

The conversation continues, and her gruel goes cold, her glass still full of water, the tray forgotten.

>>22912858
He's already repaired it actually. Shame to let a 20 go to waste, but he just fashions a little harness for the thing to hang from his belt.

Hadrak attaches the generator to his belt and admires his handiwork, before going to his scrap bin and laying out bits and bobs of wiring, scrap metal and electronics on the table in the rough shape of an arm. He ponders the workbench for a moment before taking Sebastiano's autopistol and placing it alongside the scrap. He gets his lascutter and solderer, and gets to work.

You read my mind.
>>22913225
Not so much... gimme a few posts.

Before Berold and his date can get too comfortable, alarms go off. A PA announces that all crew available for fighting are to arm up and get ready, and to heat up weapon systems.

Ellyn is confused. "In a warp jump? What the hell could attack us in-" She doesn't get to finish that thought, as the ship is hit by something and violently shudders, knocking her and Berold off their chairs. Berold grabs his rifle, sees that she's unarmed and gives her his pistol. Downstairs the makeshift marketplace is in chaos, vendors grabbing their wares and trying to defend them from the customers, who themselves simply want a weapon for the fight about to come. A few shots ring out and someone screams in the crowd, but the chaos continues. (What next?)

On the other side of the ship, Hadrak looks up from the arranged parts on his workbench when the alarm goes off. He groans his displeasure after the hit knocks the pieces on the table into dissaray, grabs the vox-caster, his lasgun and the krak grenades Kirstin got for him and leaves, a mechandritesnatching the autopistol from the floor on his way out. (Where to?)

(Others in next post, too long)
>>
>>22913277
Sebastiano is almost finished emptying the contents of his stomach when the alarm goes off. "Fokkin' really rite now?" he mumbles, wiping his mouth and looking at himself in the mirror. The alarm is loud and pounding in his head, and he's knocked clean to the ground by the hit a few seconds later as he tries to get back into the bunk to his weaponry. Where's Hadrak and Berold? He thinks he should find them, he can't shoot straight in this state. Maybe the flamer will work. (Next?)

Kirstin just finishes firing off a belt of her heavy stubber when the alarm goes off, and begins to pack up in preparation for a fight. She doesn't know where the guys are, presumably at the bunk, but Nora's by the merchants, so that's a good place to start.

Nora's wading through the crowds among the vendors when the alarm goes off. Everyone panics, but she keeps her hands on her weapons to stop pickpockets, while trying to force her way out. Eventually she fires a few shots from her revolver in the air to clear the area and makes it somewhere less crowded, before leaning against a wall. "I knew we should have stuck together..." she mumbles to herself, before taking the shotgun off her back and looking around.

Berold and Ellyn make their way back to her quarters to get her better armed.

Hadrak contacts Sebastiano through his eye (because he fucking built it; do you really think it wouldn't have this function?), telling him to locate Nora, who should be in the market, and Kirstin, who should be with her, and bring them back to the bunks; and Sebastiano rolls to do this.

Kirstin rolls to locate Nora in the market. Nora rolls to locate Kirstin, realizing that she shouldn't leave the market because that's where Kirstin will be running anyway. (Already rolled for.)

Hadrak hacks the ship's monitoring systems to attempt to find Berold.

Sebastiano feels around the room, and eventually finds what he's looking for. He pops the pills, and his headache vanishes. He's probably gonna have to pay for it later, but for now at least he can see straight. He grabs his flamer and autogun, and runs. Hadrak's probably in the workshop, so he starts to head there.

Hadrak is on his way back to the bunk when he runs right into Sebastiano, almost knocking them both to the floor. Another something hits the ship, and that actually does knock them to the floor. Hadrak gets up and helps Sebastiano pull himself up.

"Have you located the others?"

"Nahh they be off somewheres, be fine I reckon, all brought their guns 'n can 'old their owns."

"Do you know what's hitting us?"

"No clue but is bluddy mental 'innit, what joker'd attack in a jump eh?"

"It does seem a high-risk action. Perhaps they-"

A loud explosion rocks the ship, quite close this time, and they both look around.

"We should locate the others and group up; probability of survival better that way."

He ducks into a side corridor and jacks into a console, accessing the security cameras. "Berold and unknown woman in Canteen B. Nora in marketplace nearby. Kirstin near firing range, running, location unknown. All armed."

"Tah the canteen then." Sebastiano thinks for a second. "Is she pretty?"

Hadrak doesn't dignify that with a response, and they prepare to go. (cont'd next post)

Berold asks Ellyn over the panic and screaming where her quarters are, and if her armaments are there. "Yeah it's a few floors up, the lifts aren't far."

"I'll cover you, can we go to your bunk?"

Ellyn looks like she wants to make a comment on his forwardness, but sees that now isn't the time. They depart together, Berold staying close and making sure she's not running into any trouble.

>>22913390
Kirstin, meanwhile, is running to the market where she knows Nora is, and gets there in record time. Nora readies her shotgun, but after seeing who it is relaxes, and they embrace. "Do you know where the others are?"

"No, I was at the range but didn't see anyone on the way in. I think Seb, Berold and Hadrak are still back at the bunks though, along with the package."

"We need more firepower, we have to find them."

Kirstin agrees, and they prepare to move and find the rest of the team.

"They're armour piercing, figured you might appreciate some more firepower." Kirstin grins a devilish grin, and loads up the belt after planting a kiss on Nora's cheek. She finishes loading the gun, closes the stubber, and opens the door. On the other side are Hadrak and Sebastiano, the former sighing in relief at the sight of them.

"Feared safety. Good to see you healthy."

Nora and Kirstin let them through the doorway to join, but before reunion celebrations can carry on further something happens.

A loud zap is heard, accompanying another explosion from somewhere in the ship, and three chaos terminators appear in the middle of the mostly-abandoned vendor's square. A few stragglers are still gathering what they can from the empty stalls, but they're spotted and immediately cut down by hails of bolt fire. One of them tries to run into the corridor with the acolytes, and his torso is reduced to a red paste as he staggers (well, is thrown violently by the explosion) in. The acolytes haven't been spotted though, and squeeze against the wall to stay out of sight once the terminators appear. Peeking around the corner with a camera mechandrite, Hadrak notes with dismay that the terminators are joined in short order by something else. He doesn't know enough forbidden knowledge to get an idea of what it is, but it's big, it carries a big sword, it has wings, it's heavily armoured, and it's daemonic. Daemon prince, Greater Daemon, whatever it is it's trouble.

He also realizes that he didn't have time to grab the box, and with a sinking feeling recalls that Sebastiano doesn't have it either...

While this is happening, Ellyn and Berold make their way to her quarters, swimming upstream through the tide of panicking menials and marching guards. The lifts were out, so they had to get up the surprisingly empty stairwells. Finally, they get there and Ellyn opens up the electronic lock on the door. It's a cleanly furnished pragmatic room, with a photo of her, an older man (presumably father or other relative) and a younger girl. She begins to rummage through some drawers, while talking to Berold as he stands watch in the doorway.

"My dad was in the PDF, best sharpshooter they had, and he saved the ship's captain once or twice, so I got set up with a few jobs. When he passed, the cap let me stay on board with them. Easier to get work in places you're not recognized, when someone can vouch for you."

She produces a key from the drawer, opens up a weapons cabinet and retrieves her rifle, a laspistol and a few knives. She tosses Berold back his pistol and joins him in the doorway. "You got any friends around here with you? If not we can stick together, try to find some of the guards to follow around. They're competent enough, not as good a shot as me. Or you." She smiles at him, and for a moment they forget that they're under attack and pretty likely to die. At that point the loud teleport from downstairs is heard. "In any case, we gotta start moving fast."

She doesn't, and they begin to move. Hadrak, Sebastiano, Nora and Kirstin meanwhile think the same way, and begin to head back, staying quiet to avoid attracting the attention of that huge daemon thing.

Alas, it isn't to be. Berold and Ellyn are moving down the stairwells, then into a hallway when... things start coming out of the hall's walls. Their rotten flesh peels off revealing yellowed bone and pink muscle. One is coming out right next to Ellyn, occupied with shooting another, and Berold pushes her out of the way and takes the hit, before she plants a (normal) bullet in its head from her longarm. They get their rifles out and begin firing downrange from the stairwell. (contd)

Hadrak "convinces" an electronic door to open up, and manages to find a single functional melta canister before following along the rest of the way.

They almost manage to get back to the safety of the bunk, to find that it's not very safe at all. Two garbled voices (power armour, or terminator suits, or just daemonic-sounding people) from inside are yelling about finding "the shackle", and as they argue a third figure steps out. He's oversized, wearing power armour, or what's left of it. Tentacles grow out of his right arm, writhing around as he looks up and down the corridor, and carrying a boltgun. His left arm is a huge crab-like claw. He spots a mechandrite peeking from around the corner, shoulders his bolter and moves towards to investigate.

Nope. Too late. The possessed lunges at the corner, and swats the meltabomb, unactivated out of Hadrak's hands with the tentacles. His claw darts forward and closes around Hadrak's midsection, lifting him in the air and squeezing. Being a techpriest, Hadrak does not feel pain as easily as an organic, especially in his more metallic areas. But this hurts. He can hear the metal bending as the obscenely powerful claws warp the metal where his ribs used to be towards his spine.

Berold steps forward, offers a hand to get Ellyn from a kneel back to her feet, and they resume their trip to the acolyte's quarters, this time running and on guard.

Sebastiano, Nora and Kirstin burst out, opening fire. The possessed shakes off the flames (Hadrak might be hurt by it but honestly it's not his biggest problem) and shotgun shells, but a good 5 seconds of armour-piercing rounds from Kirstin's stubber are enough to hurt him good. He turns towards her and aims his bolter at the (immobilized from firing) Kirstin. A hot-shot lasbolt takes off a few tentacles from the other side of the corridor, and the bolter falls to the ground. The possessed howls in pain and stumbles back into a wall.

An explosive shot from Ellyn's rifle to the side causes it to drop Hadrak, who crumples to the floor, near unconsciousness, activating his deflector field just in time to stop the krak explosion from finishing him off. The possessed marine falls to the ground, a corpse, just as his two friends come out, see what's happening, and duck back in to take cover in the doorway. The other two don't seem to have any obvious mutations, but one can be heard yelling for backup.

He clears his throat, cups his hands around his mouth and yells into the wall for maximum metallic echo, putting on the higher gothic dialect once more.

"Give yourself up to the EMPEROR'S WRATH chaos scum and we may grant you the privilege of an honourable death!"

The boltfire ceases as he continues to yell insults, taunts and (falsified) battlefield accounts of his exploits as Captain Berruti of the Ultramarines second company. Eventually he stops, and the two marines can be heard discussing what to do with each other before going silent. He peeks out; they're not looking down the hallway at the moment, and he can't see them from this angle if they're in the doorway or not.

They can't grab important stuff, they're not in the room, they're at either end of the hallway containing the room. The two marines are/were camped in the doorway of their bunk, looking for something that you can probably guess what it is.

Kirstin opens fire, and one of the marines steps out to try and shoot back. He's nailed in the back of the head by another explosive round from Ellyn's rifle. It doesn't kill him, but it stuns him, and the armour piercing rounds sneak through the weaker (but still pretty strong) parts of the power armour. A second shot, from the hot-shot longlas, finishes him off.

The other one steps out, but Kirstin resumes firing and he steps back in after firing a bolt that whizzes past her head. Nora slips back the bolt/lever/whatever on her combat shotgun, and Sebastiano relights the pilot light on his flamer...

The navigator of the ship stumbles into Berold and Ellyn, almost taking a shot from Berold's pistol before he puts his hands up and says he's friendly. "Th-the bridge is taken over, they can't access the consoles but I think they want to br-bring down the Geller fields! It's already bad, imagine if we lost ALL our protection?"

He's badly shaken, and leans against the wall to get a fresh breath. Berold can see that a bit of blood is dripping from his right pant leg, but he managed to run down here alright, if in pain. Berold kneels down by him and resights, ready to protect him if need be.

Berold looks down from his rifle, and takes a look at the wound. It's worse than he thought; some shrapnel has cut the guy's thigh open, and that's where the blood comes from, but a burn, presumably from a bolt shell explosion, makes it look bad. Probably already running a high risk of infection. He does what he can, but what happens next is somewhat distracting.

Sebastiano sprints out shortly after Nora throws a krak grenade. Kirstin fires her stubber once more, expending the last of her armour-piercers to make sure the marine doesn't come out just yet. Sebastiano turns into the doorway, jumping over the prone form of Hadrak and firing the flamer inside. The marine only sees him for a fraction of a second before flames fill up his vision, and then the room. It's enough to set the place on fire, covering marine and room alike with sticky, burning promethium. Even power armour can't protect from that kind of flame forever, and the marine stumbles out trying to extinguish himself.

Sebastiano slides for style and comes to a stop right next to Ellyn just as she takes another shot. This one strikes true, and the marine's head is blown to small red chunks inside his helmet. Aside from the groans of the injured navigator and the soft crackling of the burning room, there is an eerie quiet, before Sebastiano lets out a whoop of celebration and kisses Ellyn full on the mouth (without her consent of course).

Sebastiano pulls away and grins at her cheekily with a wink, before she recovers from the shock of this stranger trying to stick his tongue down her throat, and punches him right where it hurts.

"Not a CHANCE for you, asshole!" she punctuates the third word with a second kick, before flicking her hair out of the way, picking up her rifle and walking briskly to the dead marines in the hall. Hadrak flickers into consciousness to see Nora and Kirstin kneeling next to him, while Berold and Ellyn check the corpses. He hits himself with a second needle full of stimm, gets up and groans in pain, and assesses the damage to his servo harness. Only the medical mechandrite and one other general use one are receiving power. The servo harness isn't beyond repair or anything, but he'll need a few hours and probably some help to get it up and working. He tries to get up and walk, but his left leg sends jolts of pain up, and he realizes it's broken. He considers the possibility of a replacement, but the one for Sebastiano is meant for the right leg after all, and amputation will be messy and dangerous if done in the present. Nora holds his shoulder and helps him to walk along though.

Berold, upon confirming the deaths of the marines with Ellyn, tells her to wait with the others, then goes back to the navigator, ignoring the (still in pain) Sebastiano.

"I'll be fine, I think. You need to stop them, or get us into realspace, or something, just please leave me and go, I'll be fine..."

His eyes are closed and he's mumbling to empty air, sweating like mad. With Hadrak down, there isn't much Berold can do in the way of medical care.

Kirstin, giggling at him, drags Sebastiano to his feet, who grabs his flamer and begins walking with slightly crossed legs. "Next time, make sure she's not into one of our other team members, alright?" He gives her a look that could melt ice. The medbay doesn't seem to be en route, but they encounter a team of guards who somehow have survived. They've got a medic, and offer to stick around and take care of the navigator. Anything to stay out of the fighting, I suppose. The navigator thanks them profusely, and faints shortly before they leave. They make their way up to the bridge without further incident, avoiding more trouble until they get there.

They reach the bridge, and hearing discussion inside, Hadrak and Nora get over to an interface to try and get a peek through the cameras. All but one of the cameras are totalled. The last one shows that there are corpses, horribly mutilated by bolters, chainswords, explosions or just plain old torture arrayed everywhere. Amidst all of it are the three terminators that they saw in the vendor's square, their armour unscratched, and that one Daemon. One of the terminators, having just received whatever orders he needed, walks out through one of the alternative entrances, and Hadrak catches a glimpse of a few marines waiting for him, and following as the door closes. That leaves 2 terminators with big nasty powerfists and bolters, and the big Daemon, who seems unarmed, except for his claws. But claws are good enough for something as big and mean as that.

The two terminators left in the room begin discussing. "Heveloz, your men were sent to get the artifact, right? Why aren't they back yet?"

The other takes a step forward. "If you have something to say about me or my warband I want you to say it, Borak."

The back and forth rapidly becomes more audible, even to those not plugged in. Eventually the a loud thud and metallic tearing is heard, as one of the terminators swings with his power fist at the other. The other deflects with his own fist, and both send their gloves into a nearby console, completely wrecking it. They are then both blown back by the Daemon gesturing to the space between them.

"SILENCE! Your petty squabbles are of NO consequence to myself, or the one who I serve. If the artifact does not return here within the minute, we may go there ourselves before the Geller fields go down and tear whoever else may remain to screaming pieces. Then, you may settle this childish brawl."

The two terminators keep their balance and glower at the Daemon, then each other before turning their backs on each other to look around the bridge in silence.

Hadrak scans the area surrounding for reinforcements. A squad, not the one they dropped the navigator with, is torn apart by bolter fire from the marines and terminator who left. One of the terminators decides self-preservation is in his best interest, and fires only a few inaccurate shots before taking cover again. The other discards discretion as the better part of valour, and charges forward, powerfist raised and bolts firing. One narrowly misses Kirstin's head (but Nora granted luck), and he's cut down by cannon-shot after cannon-shot as he almost reaches the doorway, his powerfist carving a chunk out of the floor before deactivating. The Daemon, meanwhile has "jumped", as much as a huge Daemon can in a relatively cramped bridge, and is slightly closer to the right.

>Hooooolly shit
Sebastiano meanwhile has looted one last thing from the marine; the backpack. He tries hooking it up to the power supply built into his eye, and is almost finished when the door blows open. He walks over, and sees the Daemon.

Maybe it's the hangover. Maybe it's the pain pills. Maybe it's Ellyn's punch to his balls. For some reason he decides he should shoot it. And for some reason he decides to give it all he's got. The entire backpack's power supply is consumed, and his bio eye goes blind for the next few days, and never sees quite as well ever again, but it's all worth it; a beam, small at first but increasing in size as time passes and it gets further from his eye comes out square on the Daemons head. Within the second a force equivalent to a lascannon somehow forces its way through the capacitators. All the Daemonic deflector fields in the world... well they probably could deflect it. But not this one, all on its own. The Daemon takes the hit, and looks in a bad way. A few extra autocannon shots push it back further, until it decides that it isn't worth the trouble. It gestures with a gigantic hand, and vanishes into the warp that surrounds the ship. The last terminator looks back to see that his master is gone, his peer dead, and the crazy laser-eye man done firing. He stays out of the autogun's field of fire.

Plug into the security and take a look around. A lot of the cameras are destroyed or missing, but a fair amount of them are still functional. The information overloads the weary techpriest, but he sees that indeed there are marines, possessed, champions, even some cultists in boarding armour, and lesser daemons throughout the ship.

There are plenty of corpses, from both sides of the fighting, but the marines probably have the upper hand, particularly due to the daemons on their home turf. Of particular note are a few marines coming out of the acolyte's quarters, looking frustrated (punching the walls and such) and the squad of marines plus the third terminator approaching what seems to be the primary power supplies/projectors of the Geller fields.

Sebastiano gets on the comms; "Well whosis we gots us here, a pretty lil lady orks eh? The men we gots on board here are pretty tired but I say those devils are hot and ready to fight if ye get wot I mean eh?"

>>22915418
Nora shoves him aside "Listen orks just kill these things for us and we'll make it worth your while, alright?"

The ork on the other end thinks (if orks can think) and replies "Well why don't we just get us boyz a good fight out of the boths of ya and take all your loot for weselves, eh?"

>>22915412
Hadrak hovers next to the warp jump panel. "Chaos forces not yet at Geller field. Can still escape to warp for few seconds. Risk minimal. Get away from orks. Ready to jump if they attack."

As it turns out, it's not necessary.

>>22915441
>>22915426
Both the black ships of the inquistion and a small fleet of Navy cruisers arrive, and while the freebootaz try to escape or fight back, they don't stand much of a chance. Once the black ships arrive, the third terminator can be heard trying to make contact with the others, asking what to do? Without a response, he eventually swears and teleports himself out (as seen by Hadrak). Where to, is unknown. Perhaps planetside where he'll terrorize the feudals for years to come.

Ever since the ship popped out of the warp, the daemons have become weaker and less willing to fight, that sentiment also reflected by the marines. They begin to phase back into the warp, more and more rapidly as time passes and the on-ship guards and passengers finally begin to gain the upper hand against the now-heavily-undermanned attacking force. The acolytes stay in the bridge, but Hadrak can see the fighting dying down all around.

>>22915475
Unfortunately, the Navigator succumbs to his wounds shortly before the last cultist is captured and executed. Longer ranged warp jumps will be difficult if not impossible, for the moment.

>Sorry about ignoring, but post was long
>>
>>22915512
I guess there were grey knights on the black ship, although considering they kill dudes who fight daemons do you *really* want them to show up?
>>

>>22915586

Guys, if we were sent out on a ship to pick up an object, I think our boss dude would be at a set location for us to return to.

Rolling for him to be nowhere near us.
>>
Rolled 5, 9 = 14

>>22915586
Sebastianos remembers to drop the funny voice so they can recognize him and tries again.

>>22915576
>>22915586
>Well maaayb-
>>22915598
>He's got a point, and rolled high to boot.

Inquisitor Karras doesn't happen to be on board any of the ships. Furthermore, as much as Sebastiano pleads with the black ships and navy fleet, they have a job to do.

>>22915608
>>22915644
Hadrak eventually gets online, and asks if they can at least send a navigator or someone capable of letting them complete this vital mission over. Eventually one of the navy captains folds, and sends a small unit of guardsmen alongside a new navigator.

The surviving crew of the vessel get to work on repairing it and making it warp worthy once more, while the black ships and navy return to whatever it was they were doing.
>>
Rolled 8, 13 = 21

>>
>>22915716
>Gonna need a higher roll than that for archaeotech :)
>>22915739
>>22915769
>>22915780
Over the next few days, spent in the relative safety of realspace with an entire Navy fleet right there, Hadrak quickly gets fixed up by himself, the doctors and some of the techs, before going out and leading repairs and improvements to the weapons, to prevent this from happening again. They draw more power, the missiles become faster and more efficient, and overall the merchant vessel becomes less of a merchant vessel and more of a tiny, bristling escort-type ship. The corpses are scoured for usable equipment then dumped from the airlock. Hadrak has essentially become accepted as the new captain throughout all this, walking around with a metal cast on his left thigh and crutches held by his mechandrites.

>>22915744
And on his downtime, he takes a look at Sebastiano's eye. Not much he can do to speed up the recovery, so he decides to make a replacement. He's unable to duplicate the strange magic Seb brought up against the Daemon, and can't even find the proper supplies to make it fire lasers again, but it's always nice to have a spare, and it still sees just as well as a normal eye would.

>>22915777
The navigator is not attractive. The navigator is also a man in his 70s.

(Probably going to wrap up in the next few posts, before they jump into warp space so don't try and start anything that will take a while, eh?)
>>
Rolled 3, 11 = 14

>>22915809

>>
>>22915835
Squats don't exist. What are squats? Go play shadowrun or whatever the hell squats come from.

>>22915848
>>22915874
The guardsmen are reasonably competent, well trained and disciplined (think Cadians, but not actually Cadian). There's 20 of them, and they get started training up those who were formerly merchants, so that the ship can still have a semblance of a defense force. There's enough time, and most people that survived had pre-existing combat experience anyway. And there's plenty of spare gear lying around from the chaos. No one has to know where they got it from, but Hadrak makes a point of blessing every weapon he sees anyway.

>>22915893
>>22915913
Hadrak finds a meltagun in the bony hands of one of the corpses being ejected from the airlock, and quickly grabs, blesses and loads it up. It should be useful, in the future... Among other things, some of the young, unaugmented techpriests who look up to him brought him a barely-functioning plasma rifle, they found next to a dead cultist, with half his torso burnt off. Hadrak is going to spend many nights in the workshop with this and his new servitors... and Sebastiano really could use an arm to go with his soon-to-be-leg, couldn't he...
>>
Rolled 19, 6 = 25

>>22915940

Rolling for them to have sex, wonderful, hot steamy, fade to black sex.
>>
>>22915991

>>22915940
>>22915992
Kirstin and Nora spend most of the next few days relaxing again, finding the less messy areas of the ship and having fine drinks. Fate isn't exactly on their side, as they agree, but at least they have each other right? Nora in particular isn't happy about that galaxy she wanted to explore so much, but tries not to bring it up with Kirstin too badly. Aside from that, fade-to-black and all that, I mean just fill your own head with that stuff, not much I can do to describe it mate ;)

>>22915903
Berold and Ellyn are glad to have made it out alive, and bonded a bit during the fighting. They spend some time together on the observation deck a few days after. Once the corpses are gone and the blood is cleaned up, it really does feel quite a bit more romantic. Berold leaves the rifle in his quarters this time, and they look out at the feudal world. She makes jokes about what life must be like down there, and he smiles back. At one point he looks at her quietly, and she closes her eyes. Nothing happens, and she opens them to see a very nervous man across from her, who looks down shyly. She smiles encouragingly; "Don't worry about it. We've got plenty of time." They turn back to look at Carrion IV and a few minutes of silence later he tentatively puts an arm around her shoulder.

>>22915855
The pilot is... somewhere. Somewhere far away. Singleminded and in pursuit. He's not where he needs to be though. Not yet. He'll get there. A ship shows up on his scanners. A small beaten up escort without a bigger ship to escort. It'll have to do...

And that's it for Chapter 4! As always, pleasure writing for you /tg/, whatever comments, praise or criticism you've got just feel free to keep posting. We can do it again Sunday at 9AM GMT, gotta get some stuff done tomorrow.

Until then, see you next time!
>>
Quickly dropping the trip so I don't forget to remove it next time I post somewhere else, ta!
