You are a Magical Girl. Earlier, you managed to drive off an insane Magical Girl wielding twin chainaxes with nothing more than two spirited slaps and a hefty dose of harsh language. Of course, you passed out moments afterwards, but no one else will be able to say that they managed to send Valnikov Kharn packing with a strongly-worded lecture.

No one else will be able to say that they stood up to the Betrayer and lived.

But of course, you still have to get out of the Witch Barrier you've willingly had yourself thrown into, before you get a bit too proud of your achievements.

The Barrier that is slowly, but surely, starting to make sense, despite everything. The strange, surreal, and mostly downright horrifying barrier that, you were told by a sickened, insane god, belonged to the girl you're supposed to be rescuing.

Madoka. The pink-haired monster that haunted your dreams as well as your sempai's.

Homura. The former name of your sempai, her previous self. Before the amnesia. Before everything.

Both of them, together, forced apart by something that happened. Something that...so defied description, something so incredible that it bore two shattered, broken minds that had no hope of recovery. Whatever it was, it gave birth to insanity that destroyed the barriers between time, space, and whatever lay beyond those two constants. It gave rise to duty that endured injury, corruption and betrayal. It created determination that kept burning even through failure after failure after monumental failure.

And, of course, love. It created love, a love that withstood pain, withstood death, withstood even oblivion.

Love like that comes but once an eternity.

Maybe you should've wished for it when you had the chance.

But nothing will be done if you stand there dreaming about lost chances. You've lost yours, and you must accept it. You still have a duty - a debt to repay the young woman that now stood before you, with a network of scars corrupting her visage and black armor covering most of her limbs and torso. Her eyes, the only aspect of her devoid of corruption - except for the pupils, which blazed crimson in the midst of cold purple irises - looking into yours, desperate hope and jaded disbelief warring in them.

Her question earlier was to question if you were, indeed, real. That you were not simply another fevered hallucination or a mimic hewn from the corruption that tainted the very air you breathed inside the barrier. Her sword - an ugly black thing of wicked, serrated murder - was held loosely in one clawed hand, not en garde, and that made it all the sadder. As if she had given up, that in case should you answer in the negative, it would not even surprise her or alarm her. She would not even defend herself.

You told her that yes, you are real. You even dared to touch her - a brief period in which you placed a hand on her vambrace. Her armor felt cold, inhuman, and seemed to shift in an almost biomechanical manner under your touch, like metal scales. You kept your hand there, however, and she seemed to allow it.

A few feet away from you, Malal is still talking to Kyuubey in muted tones. In the middle of the cleared restaurant, Chiaki is sleeping, with Homura and Mirai curled up on either side of her, restful in their own dreams.
In any case, it seems that this fragment of Chiaki is willing to talk.

What do you ask her?
>>
Oh boy oh boy oh boy it's that time again.

Hope you are feeling better Deculture.

This is the only fragment that recognizes and remembers Midori so let's ask her about that.

Also, about the rain. Of the three fragments that we have met, this is the one that reacted to it. It might give us a clue on how to deal with the remaining fragment.
>>
>>22750644
Ask whether she knows anything about the last fragment. When I think back to it, when we met Moemura for the first time, this fragment seemed to be guarding her. From Ribbonhomu, perhaps?

Finally on time for the quest and this early nonetheless. this will be a good day.
>>
>>22750644
"Sempai, now that you're with your other selves, do you know what to do to come back together?
"Can you tell where the last fragment is, or where Miss Kharn has gone to?"

And we still need to figure out a way to save Mirai.
>>
>>22750644

Tell her we're gonna get a little upset if she keeps wondering if we're not real.

Hold onto her arm again. Show here by touch that we're really here.

Ask her what she saw, that she thought she killed everyone. Then tell her its not true, that everyone else is alive back in the city and that we're still back in Alaska. Perhaps also turn on the transmitter, let her hear Misaka's voice.
>>
>>22750644
"Who was Madoka to you?"
>>22750687
What was the last thread you were here for?
We're currently playing as Midori inside Murderface's Witch barrier after Jyuubey did some bullshit with Mirai's soulgem that fucked everything up.
Murderface herself was split into four fragments rather than go full Witch, and we've collected three of them in the hope that we can put them back together to get our Senpai back.
The four fragments represent Moemura (pre-contract Homura), Murderface Classic (pre-quest Homura), Despair Homu (pseudowitch Homura) and RibbonHomu (post-series Homura, but with the added fun of wanting to destroy her other fragments out of some misplaced desire to punish herself for her mistakes).
Apparently, canon Madoka Magica plot happened, then Homura got sad that nobody remembered Madoka and undid her wish, bringing Witches back into the world and turning Madoka into Faust, The Most Powerful Witch Ever.
Also, Mirai (who didn't turn into a which like we expected), Malal (who seems to have not actually died completely), and Kharn (who is slightly [x] FLESH OF FALLEN ANGELS at the moment but we told her off so she ran away) are in the barrier with us.
Souji and Misaka are waiting for us to return, and Tiny Pete is on standby for orbital drop.
>>
>>22750789
>All of that
I stopped reading before the procedure was going to happen.
So, none of this makes sense.
>>
>>22750809
Well maybe you should go read the archives a bit. Quite a lot of plot happened.
>>
While waiting for this to kick off, I'm idly wondering about the cosmic hierarchy here. Is Godoka/Faust the most powerful thing in the verse? QB chapter mentioned some of his brethren never waking up from their voyage, probably eaten by some idling gods. I wonder what's their standing in the verse.

>You were never the sentimental kind, but sometimes you wondered what kind of fate befell those who never resurfaced. Those who never took up the call when you finally shook off the teleportation sickness, when the fumes of warp-matter thinned enough that you finally stopped choking on your own bile. Those who never pulsed their response back after the cackling of sleeping gods had finally faded from your ears.
>>
>>22750850
Those are either the Chaos Gods from 40k, or Lovecraftian horrors.
Or both.
>>
>>22750873
>Madoka ascends
>notices how she's in the big leagues now
>slowly corrupted by their influence
>hello Faust

Or maybe if this was closer to Lovecraftian works, Godoka could be trying to keep their attention anywhere but on the humans. So if Homu ever succeeds in getting her to descend, everything suddenly goes to shit because no Godoka to keep everyone relatively safe.

Fun times. I'm such a sucker for background stories.
>>
>>22750850
>>Is Godoka/Faust the most powerful thing in the verse?

Think in the question section a few threads back, Decu said that her powerlevel was "pretty much maximum". So, either she's the most powerful or very close to it.

In any case, as the personification of Despair, she's pretty much unkillable, though she can definitely be hurt.
>>
>>22750898
>Think in the question section a few threads back, Decu said that her powerlevel was "pretty much maximum"

Wasn't that in regards to her normal power level? As in she was nearly at the top of her game, no/minimum holding back.
>>
>>22750644

+There is one thing I think you should now, but I am not sure now to say it. You see those two sleeping people? They are.... they are you. From what I know, you have been split up into four people, and we need to get all of you back together+

We will need to tell her about the barrier sooner rather then later.
>>
>>22750916

Yeah, I think that's what was said. I'm not completely certain about the wording of it though. At any rate, she's definitely holding back now since she said she didn't want to accidentally tear the barrier apart and kill Homura.
>>
>>22750916
>>22750898
>>22750893

There is something I have been thinking about. We should never let Madoka/Faust have all the fragments at any one time.
I think that while Madoka would like to put Homura back together, but not as a magical girl but as a witch-goddess like herself. So "we can be monsters together"

To be fair, she already forced several different timelines to exist to do that.

You have questions to ask, but her lack of reply worries you, just a bit. Trying to lighten the mood, you tell her that you'll be upset if she keeps wondering if you're actually real or not. This makes her blink in surprise, before she inclines her head in a slow nod.

+Sorry+

Her pulsed apology is fainter, weaker than before, but you think that it's just her way of....trying to sound more human. To be more gentle than the jagged, barbed words that actually hurt to receive earlier. Your head still ached from them, despite how relieved you were that she could talk to you at all.

+Not used to talking for so long. Usually no need to.+ The armored fragment lowers her gaze in an almost sheepish manner, before looking back up at you, her words blossoming carefully in your mind while her lips remained motionless. +Only hunting, only killing. Surviving. No talking+

She glances back down at your hand, still on the cold, scratched steel of her vambrace.

+I missed you+

You very nearly broke down at that. Even if you didn't hear it with your own ears - the words made known in your thoughts instead, delivered by a mind so wracked and weakened with agony that each word felt like the fragile, half-forgotten memory of a dream - you were told by your sempai that she had missed you. It was one single ray of hope amidst...well, everything that you've known here, everything that you've seen and been made to understand in this barrier. Even when the fragments of her broken psyche seemed entwined to Madoka by sheer fate alone, a part of her thought about you. Remembered you.

This wasn't the time to break down, though, and you collect yourself after a few moments. It's time you asked her some questions. Questions that would hopefully help in getting everyone out of this nightmare.

You ask her, then, about what she remembers. How...she became like this. How she ended up killing everyone.

[1/2]
>>
>>22751273

She looks up at you, uncertain, the corners of her lips twitching slightly, as if fighting the impulse to speak. A small growl leaves her throat, before she pulses her words again, directly to you.

+Procedure. Siberia. I can still remember it.+

The words come painfully, slowly, and her eyes narrow with the effort. +Failure. Procedure failed. Woke up screaming. Souji tried to stop me. Killed him.+ She looks down at a clawed hand. +Was trying to push him out of the way. Slammed him into equipment. Neck broke. Kharn tried, Tiny Pete tried. Killed them. Killed you while you tried to protect Misaka. Tasted flesh of fallen angels, then.+

A sharp inhalation of breath through a mouth of too many teeth. +Killed everything in base. Failsafe there activated, locked down inside. Must have alerted Kyuubey too. When I got out, the entire Officio had mobilized. Sent to kill me. Kyoko. Sayaka. Mami. Everyone. Met them on the snow after I dug myself out.+

Another breath. This time accompanied with a growl. +Killed them. Ripped bodies apart. Crushed soul gem underfoot. Didn't stop. Made snow red.+ The fragment smiles, a tired, weary thing of a smile, and waves a clawed hand in front of her scarred face. +Sayaka's handiwork. She took the longest to die+

But...but the procedure was a success, you tell her after a few moments of silence. It worked. She woke up, although she didn't exactly remember anything. The procedure worked, and she didn't kill anyone upon waking. She even sparred with Kharn and interrogated a Magical Girl directly afterwards. That's the reason you're here. Why everyone is here.

+I don't even know where here is.+ The fragment replies. +I remember...I remember my shield clicking, and then I was here. I was here...years ago.+

How do you respond?
>>
>>22751279

>years

Goddammit. I am sad.

Hug, weep for her.

After recovering, ask her what she did all this time here? Did she meet anyone else?
>>
Then this barrier isn't just a barrier, it contains the past, present and possible future of you

You have a second chance now. All we need to do is find the last one and get you back together somehow and everything you suffered will be just a bad dream

You can go see Kharn and Misaka again, they will be waiting for you
>>
>>22751279

The most anyone in this timeline knows is 'time-stop'.

Malal and moemura might be the only people who knows enough to teach Midori all this.

But if you've been here for years then it can't possibly be your barrier. It must belong to some other Witch. That's been in Siberia for years. Without moving around at all, staying in one place the entire time.

Trust Homura's barrier to do weird things to time.

>>
>>22751385

Moemura might still be pre-wish Homura. I mean, it's a slim chance, but it's possible. Her turning into a magical girl here could just be her sort of merging with the base Homu a bit and getting the abilities she might not personally remember getting yet. So she might not actually have the exact knowledge of her own magic yet, even though she might sort of be able to use it.

Hell, the fact that all their shields still have the scar might be indicative that her memory of her exact wish and access to her strongest powers might be sealed away, or damaged.

>Surrounded in mystery, the object of fear, hatred, and even worship by members of the Church of the Final Atonement (the Shrike Cult), the Shrike's origins are described as uncertain. It is portrayed as composed of razorwire, thorns, blades, and cutting edges, having fingers like scalpels and long, curved toe blades. It has the ability to control the flow of time, and may thus appear to travel infinitely fast. The Shrike may kill victims in a flash or it may transport them to an eternity of impalement upon an enormous artificial 'tree of thorns' in Hyperion's distant future. The tree of thorns is described as unimaginably large, alive with the agonized writhing of countless human victims of all ages and races.

>>22751488
She will have at least SOME details about her life to offer. Even that would help.

i also believe that we are somewhere at a crossroad now in this quest. It basically depends on how we handle this situation that will determine the ending.

Will Chiaki Matusuda accept her Memories and the Truth about what she pulled as Akemi Homura, embrace what she felt for Madoka and work to undo it?
Will she bury her past as Akemi Homura, accept that she is a different person now, refuse the feelings of Madoka and live her life as Chiaki Matsuda until she expires eventually?

And independently from that stuff above, will she decide to spare Pinky despite all the people that Pinky got killed with ther golden weapon shit and help her fix things?
Or will she actively try to destroy Pinky after all the she pulled once and for all?
>>
>>22751550

Hyperion, by Dan Simmons. There's four books to the series, and it's a fairly enjoyable sci-fi series, though rather grim and somewhat pompous in places.
>>

Personally I think I prefer for her to bring the thing with her past to a closure and accept that she may have been Akemi Homura long time ago, but that she isn`t that Girl who once loved Madoka so fiercely no longer.

Basically move on with herself, live as Chiaki Matsuda, fall in love with Midori and despite wanting to live on as Chiaki Matsuda still trying to help Madoka make the things right that Homura did wrong in the past. Even if it means mercykilling Pinky.
>>
>>22751695
I really doubt that will happen
She said this was her last chance and if we do recombine the parts she will get a massive dose of Moemura and all the memories associated with it so she will go back to Madoka
>>
>>22751347
I don't like this, because it implies that her experiences were in some sense real. I don't think this is a second chance; it's a first, and that everything she suffered actually *was* just a bad dream. She seems more like an incarnation of Chiaki's fears.

Just reassure her that everyone, starting with Souji, is still alive -- and that you intend to keep it that way.
>>
>>22751718

We don't know if getting all of them in one place will result in Homura incarnating, or Chiaki suddenly getting a flood of memories from her past selves, or some sorta composite personality that blends all of 'em together.
>>
Well lets see that sort of threats we can still encounter.

1. RibbonHomura, I don't think she will have timestop but she has knowledge of what is in her shield and the experience she has gained in all the thousands of lifetimes.

2. Madoka. Remember she is a still insane goddess-witch, she might be putting Homura back for other reasons.

3. Kharn, bitchslapping her will not work a second time. Madoka might show up with her "To make sure that someone does who they set out to do" or "I see your sanity is whats holding you back, how about I get rid of it for you"

4.The pink haired girl who tired to rip Murderface's heart out". I think its a shard of Godoka who hasn't been assimilated into Faust yet.

Theres only one way to make kharn finally back down.

Have that weaksauce faggot climb into the mansized hole in Little Pete.

But the memories Moemura and Homura had would be tempered by the pragmatism and maturity(of sorts...) that Chiaki gained in her time. That's...you don't know how to reply to that. You know you've only been here a few...hours at the most, you're not that sure, but every moment had been horrifying to say the least. You don't think you'd last an entire day, or even an entire week. But for her to be trapped in here for years...it's not even something you could imagine.

+Not so bad, after the first few months. When you finally give up looking for a way out.+ That smile, again, one of resigned defeat. +Was afraid at first. Then started hunting. Demons. Witches. Monsters. Ghosts. Other things I don't know what to call. They hunt when it's raining.+

She pauses to look at you. +This...this is a Barrier, isn't it?+

You nod. It is.

She nods in return. +I. I always suspected it was. It changes often. It never stays the same. It shows me the Mitakihara I remember one moment, and a ruined one the next. It shows me the people I killed, monsters with their faces, chasing me. Trying to kill me in return.+ It's then that she turns towards the trio of sleeping girls at the center of the restaurant. +This is the first time I saw them, though. Fragments of myself. Or. Am I a fragment of them?+

It's carefully, then, that you explain to her what you think this is. Yes, this is in fact a Barrier. Whose, you're not too sure, yourself. But you believe that it's one that contains her past, her present, and her possible future. You've been told that the only way to solve things is to gather all four of her in one place, and...somehow, things will be fixed. A second chance, where she can see Kharn and Misaka again. Mami, Kyoko, everyone. Even Sayaka.

The armored fragment is silent for a few moments, before her armor creaks as she nods again.

[1/2]
>>
>>22751808

i am picturing this in a similar way as that scene in Naruto where Kakashi gets mind-crushed by Itachi, where in his mind he gets x days of being stabbed with katana's.

we could sweep the rest of her together with a broom.
>>
>>22751945

+It sounds impossible. But. Second chances are always difficult.+ She looks back out of the restaurant entrance, into the rain. +The last fragment. The one with the wings of hate. I know how to find her. She will be a hard fight, but I have killed things more. Dangerous than her.+ A grin, this time, showing rows of sharp teeth. +We should wait. Till the rain stops.+

You have no argument about that. Another moment of silence, before you tell her about...well, how she could ask her other selves about her past. About what her life was, before everything happened.

+I will. Perhaps when I am sure. Of what I can ask.+ It's then that she gives you one last look. +A second chance. Thank you, Midori. You met me. At a very strange time in my life.+

That's...that's alright. She doesn't need to thank you. Besides, you...owed her, right?

+I never kept score.+ Her armor creaks as she gives what seems to be her equivalent of a shrug. +It only seemed. Like a good idea at the time. I'm glad. I did.+

That's your sempai for you.

It seems that she wants to spend some time alone for now.

What do you do?

I still think Midori is the one most suited for getting in close to tranq RibbonHomu without getting murdered because of her illusions specialize in making her look like someone else.

>>
>>22752378
Yes, if you want MIDORI TO GET SHOT FIRST.
>>
>>22752378

I still believe the best course of action would be to confront RibbonHomu and tell her that we know about Madoka.

If this doesn`t impress her much, we tell her that we didn`t mean the Black-Eyed Abomination but that girl crying and asking about her friends. and that we know that she also is trapped in this barrier. ( Basically tell her about the person Pinky mentioned she hates. )
>>
>>22752363
Actually this. The person in this barrier least likely to be shot on sight is Midori. So Midori should not pretend to be anyone else while talking to RibbonHomu.
That said, the probability of being shot ANYWAY is pretty high so I think we should send an illusion to talk to RH while we hide behind a nice rock some distance away.
>>
>>22752394
Well jeez, if RibbonHomu wants to kill other Homus, and maybe kill Pinky, and she's still the Homura who doesn't know who we even are, then we might as well just disguise ourself as ourself.

You give the armored fragment another pat on her vambrace - the gesture creating a dull, iron sound as your fingers met cold, black steel - and it's then that you decide to leave her alone for now, to stand sentry at the entrance. She has a lot to figure out, after all, and you didn't want to overwhelm her by asking too many questions in so little time. If she has anything to tell you, she'll tell you herself - that's how your sempai is like, no matter what form she took.

You walk towards Malal, the Culexus still in the middle of repairing her suit. She's still got some repairing to do as it is, with the black leather outfit having quite a number of scars, scorch marks, and other evidence of combat. Her helmet is the worst of it, you reckon - the 'lower jaw' of the skulled headgear all but dented in, with the tinted visor showing hairline cracks on its once-flawless surface.

She's...well, she's doing her repairs with black electrical tape. Maybe that's all it needs, or something? You've seen her glance towards the Warmaster cap on the counter in front of her, an unsubtle movement given away by the helmet she wore.

"Hanegawa." She says just as you approach, not turning to look at you. Taping what appears to be a very serious rip in her suit's left sleeve with a generous amount of tape. "Either you're going to ask me something very stupid, or something very useful. I'm not in the best of moods, so I'd like it if you stuck to the latter."

It seems that she's a bit touchy, after...well, after what happened.

How do you react?

Malal grunts at your question. "That's not something Hanegawa Midori would usually ask, is it? You've been hanging around with Murderface for too long." A rasp of electrical tape being ripped from its roll, to be wrapped around a split shoulderpad in a crude bandage. "Anyway, I don't think it'll help much. Kharn stopped being a Magical Girl back when she had her accident. Not too sure if she'll be affected with it breaking. If you really want to know, though..."

The Culexus finally turns towards you, before pointing a gloved finger in the middle of her suit's chestplate. "She keeps it in pendant form. Should be right around here." She taps that spot a few times, before going back to her repairs. "That's what I remember, though. Kharn's a careful soul, so she might have hidden it somewhere else. Or maybe she doesn't even bring it around with her anymore, who knows." A moment.

...Alright. That's useful to know. You keep this information tucked away, making sure to remember should it come in handy.

But what about the fragments? They don't seem to be merging at the moment. Does she actually have any idea how this defragmentation of your sempai works? When does the Murderface Voltron start putting itself together?

This time, she snorts at you, the damaged vox-speakers of her helmet turning it into a digitized snarl. "I wasn't kidding when I said that I didn't know. But the reason why they're not merging is clear enough." She jerks her head towards the three fragments. "They don't want to. Not yet, probably. I have a few educated guesses of my own, but they're just guesses, and probably worse than anything you can come up with." She shrugs. "But I suppose that's where you come in, too."

Huh? But you're just here to--

[1/2]
>>
>>22753707

"That's the thing. Do you want to try your luck here with only three fragments? Mind, I'm not so sure of the risks. But you don't want to bother with the fourth fragment, well...you can try convincing them that it'll be fine with just three, rather than all four. I'm sure they'll listen to you. They like you quite a bit. The third one likes you the most, come to that. Funny thing, huh?"

Really? You feel your cheeks heat up at this. Yeah. That's sort of...f-funny.

"If anything, the logic is sound," Malal murmurs as she examines another scorch mark on her other arm. "The ones you've gathered here are distinct enough that they seem to be sentient on their own right. They could end up a good result. On the other hand, well, you get someone worse than the one you first had. If you decide to go with only three, then I'll see what I can do in trying to convince them. If you decide to try and get all four first, well..." She pauses here to glance back at you. "...it's going to be hard, but you'll have a better chance of getting her back in one piece."

The Culexus glances back down at the cap, placing the roll of electrical tape on the counter and picking up the symbol of office with something approaching reverence.

"I made this for her, you know?" Malal says, her damaged vox robbing her voice of its wistful tone. "Had to look up the pattern myself, and everything. The original got lost in a firefight that we nearly didn't survive." She shakes her head slowly. "I told her I found it again, after digging through all the rubble and the bodies. I think she believed me up until the time when she tried to put it on." A chuckle. "It was a perfect fit. The original was a bit too big for her. Sort of loose. The reason why it was lost in the first place." She sighs."She still thanked me for it, though. And wore it since."

Malal places the cap back on the counter. "What do you think, then? Just the three of them, or do you want to gun for four?"

Looking for fouth would be good.
It would be accomplishing something, perhaps achieving something that resembles the end of this nightmare.

Can we however, risk everything?
Because we really may lose much.

It's fine with three, right? We worked hard for that, It would be a shame to lose It. Or die. Sempai doesn't really need that destructive side, right?
Let's...
Let's go with three
>>
>>22753727

[x] "What happens if the 4th manages to kill one of the other three? Will Sempai be also incomplete if we try to uh.. patch her up?"
>>
>>22753727
...Before that, though. Can her Culexus abilities work on the last fragment? Even the third fragment seems to be a bit...intimidated by her. You want to know if there's an ace you can count on in a pinch.

"This is her barrier. Maybe, maybe not." Malal shrugs. "I'll try a full blast if we're really fucked, but I'm hoping it won't come to that." A moment. "But yeah, if you get them to merge, then all you have to do is have the amalgamation ported out. I'll do what I can to get Kharn out of here, and then I'll collapse the Barrier on whatever's left so it dissipates when you're back in the real world."

But what about her? What about Mirai? Aren't you getting out of here, too?

Malal seems to blink at you from behind her helmet's cracked visor. "And go back to what? We don't belong out there anymore. You do. Murderface does. Kharn does." She shakes her head. "It's how it works."

You pale at this, and turn back to where Mirai is busy cuddling up with a faintly-snoring Chiaki.

There...there has to be something that you can do, right...?
>>
>>22753727

What would happen to the unnerved fragment if we DID merge what we have right now? Would it just die, or would it persist in Chiaki's psyche? Or could it possibly manifest itself in the waking world and wreak terrible vengeance?

Let's aim for full Homu clear.

Let's get that fourth fragment.

PLANNING TIME!

We've got three main issues here:

1: Recombining Homu (either 3/4 or 4/4).
This is the trickiest one. As far as what Malal has said, "They don't want to. Not yet, probably."
We need to get the first three to talk to each other, and get them to rejoin, if they want to, as well as the fourth. The easiest way to get it to work is to start with "you'll probably die if you don't do this." and add "it'll be painful for her and you to be left out." And go from there. After that, the EXTRA hard part is getting RibbonHomu to go along with it. I think I want to rely on Pinky for that to talk to her, since she's the only one who'll last more than two seconds. Asking Pinky to bring RibbonHomu to returning, so she can have one last chance to fix things? That would work. "If you don't rejoin the others, you won't be able to fix everything."

2: Rescuing Kharn
This is the unknown factor. If she jumps in ??? probably someone will die. I say throw Souji at her, and then move away. If she goes to kill him, just teleport her out while she's attached to Tiny Pete. (hopefully this shouldn't fuck the teleporter). Other than that, if that fails, just stay out of her way and leave her for dead, or take her out.

3: Rescuing Mirai/Malal
This is probably the easiest bit. Ask Mirai if she wants to escape, and just teleport her soul gem with us, get a spare body to go. Malal, if she doesn't want to come, screw 'er. If we really want to be darstardly, we'll nick her soul gem before we teleport out.

Anyone see any problems with these plans so far?
>>
>>22754085
>2: Rescuing Kharn
Somehow I get the feeling that, when Kharn realizes we all left and she's the only one still in there, she'll be able to make her own way out of the barrier.
>>
>>22754085

We shouldn't really count on Pinky being our ally. While she will want to recombine Homura, she might recombine her as another goddess-witch like herself. Not to mention that she can easily kill us and take the fragments with her. Then again Berserk Homura is going to give pinky pause.

Kharn, I doubt getting angry and bitchslapping her is going to work a second time. The reason why Kharn didn't just chainaxe us the first time was that she was surprised at the gentle, shy Midori getting angry. Not to mention that Pinky might be accompanying her when he see her the second time. However I have no idea on how to rescue Kharn.

Finally, I am not sure if it is going to be that simple with just taking Mirai's soul gem. But if we do rescue her, what would we do with her? I doubt she is as eager to which incubators as Mirdori is.
>>
>>22754085

1. I don't think bringing Madoka into this is a good idea at all. While she cares deeply for Homura, she has her own agenda, and that involved getting into a fight with BerserkHomu and sicing Kharn on us. I still think using Midori's illusions to calm down RibbonHomu is our best bet.

2. I think she already left.

3. Sinking feeling that this side mission cannot be accomplished. Malal and Mirai are nothing more than echoes.
>>
>Finally, I am not sure if it is going to be that simple with just taking Mirai's soul gem. But if we do rescue her, what would we do with her? I doubt she is as eager to which incubators as Mirdori is.

It's that or die here. If she's not succumbed to despair, hopefully she won't be suicidal.

All we can offer her is a second chance, after all. Up to her to take that chance.

>We shouldn't really count on Pinky being our ally. While she will want to recombine Homura, she might recombine her as another goddess-witch like herself.

Eh. If she was able to do so on her own, she wouldn't have asked us to come along. I'm banking on she'd prefer an intact Homura to persuade - if we rely on Malal's comment that the fragments have to WANT to rejoin, all the force in the world won't do it, only someone who can reach out and touch her without clawed hands.
>>
>>22754275

>All we can offer her is a second chance, after all. Up to her to take that chance.

What I meant is that Mirai is more loyal to the saints then Midoiri was. If she does change from Jyuubey to Kyuuby can she face the prospect of fighting and possibly killing her former friends?

>Eh. If she was able to do so on her own, she wouldn't have asked us to come along.

Remember she is still a witch, and she could betray us if it suited her. Remember on the plane she refereed to Midori and Misaka as 'things'
>>
Given that Jyuubey literally puppeted Mirai, got her butchered, and then flooded her gem with despair as a last ditch self-destruct attack, I would not be to surprised if Mirai was willing to ditch Jyuubey. The only problem is making sure she ditches Jyuubey for Kyuubey rather than just dying outright. We just need to convince her that continuing to live is better than dying pointlessly, perhaps via power of friendship or something.
>>
Kharn might be be deadset on destroying herself.

I don't think we can get her to snap out of it permanently.
>>
>>22754382
>Remember she is still a witch, and she could betray us if it suited her. Remember on the plane she refereed to Midori and Misaka as 'things'
She can do that at any time, though. Asking her for help is better than nothing, and I'd rather she be weakened by Ribbonhomu where we can see her rather than stepping in and de-hearting us from behind just after all the incubator's horses and all the incubator's magical girls put Chiaki back together again.

>1: Recombining Homu (either 3/4 or 4/4).

Everything you suggested here seems stupid to me.

>2: Rescuing Kharn
Too many IFs. While it might be a good Idea to get him here I somehow think that it will end in "Nuuuh, then I shall die with my love in here, durr"-Moment and we still might need Souji later alive.

Should Kharn appear again we will need to try to talk to her again.
Either that, or merlin ourself to look like Souji and BlackRockHomu to look like TinyPete so we might bullshit her that Souji came here himself. This might either end well or utterly horrible.
On one hand Kharn is a complete utter retard that will fall for such an Illusion, on the other hand, maybe Pinky-Powers might allow her to see through it.

>3: Rescuing Mirai/Malal
If her Soulgem exploded like we think it did that plan goes down the drain.

If there is no way to somehow magically store her into our or Chiaki`s Gem for some time the only alternative might be to contact Madoka and ask her if she can do something about it, being a powerful cosmic Meguca/Witch/God-Abomination.

There's certainly no harm in trying to resurrect them, and I'm sure Madoka could do something about it worst-case. She's way into friendship, crazy as she might be.

> She's way into friendship, crazy as she might be.

This was pretty much the Idea.
I know Pinky is bad stuff. I know that relying on Pinky is also bad stuff. She is crazy, she is unpredictable and all the shit Midori and especially Chiaki`s been throught is partly her fault.

But at this point we don`t have any alternatives. We can try to save Malal and Mirai in a way we don`t like or we can leave them to die.
Midori might be a somewhat slefish person, especially if you remember her interactions with people other than Chiaki but I don`t think that she would leave her friends or friends of her friends to die here.

Isn`t it said that love brings out the best and worst in people? Maybe this is it? Maybe Chiaki managed exactly that with Midori. Midori was saved by Chiaki from a rather unpleasent fate, so, who knows, maybe that influenced her to also try herself a bit more.

At least since she`s stuck in this barrier she`s been more of Miracle Midori than ever before.

And Miracle-fucking-Midori does not leave anyone behind.

Uh.. anyway, sorry for the tl;dr, just my two cents.

This was also my immediate reaction.

Amen.
