Hey there, /tg/.
You ready for a second round?

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Digimon%20Quest

>Last time on Digimon Quest:

>We helped a pretty TA survive her own book tower, carried our sick childhood friend home, and dealt with an egg with a mind of its own.

I decide to show the doctor out, and he leaves with a strange sort smile. The kind of smile that older people have when they think "Young people do have manners after all."

He stopped just outside, and turned around , about to say something, only to stop as a crash from upstairs sounded, and a shout followed soon after. His head whipped to look me straight in the face, right as I closed and locked the door.

Ignoring the pounding outside, I dashed upstairs, throwing the door open, and was greeted by Zoe pushing up against the wall, backed away from the egg...shell?

But whatever was inside it, it's not there anymore.

A quick check of the closet yields nothing, and once more, a check underneath the bed reveals something that shouldn't be there.

It's...a Slime? From Dragon Quest.

All of my wat.

>(fuck, I just noticed all the tense changes in that first post. I am terrible and I feel terrible.)

Reaching out, I extend one finger, and with a great deal of pomp and ceremony...

I poke the slime.

It make a small, growling noise, and seems to puff up, almost as if it were holding its breath.

Huh.

I look back up at Zoe, who gives me a wide eyed look of confusion, and I give her a somewhat uneasy smile.

"I...THINK it's safe."

"You t-think?" Her eyes flick between me and the bed, before a rattling cough forces its way out of her, and I'm reminded of the situation.

I snatch up the paper bag from where I dropped it, and pull out a bottle of pills. Zoe catches sight of them, and holds out her hand, still coughing into her other fist. I hand her the bottle, but quickly take it back as she struggles to open it with just one hand.

"How many?" I ask, and she holds up one finger. Just one?

I open the bottle, and pour out a few of the pills, handing her one, and placing the others on the bedside for later. After swallowing the small capsule, her coughs begin to slow and get smaller, sounding much less worrying.

She gives me a wan smile and nods her thanks, as I look back at the slime-thing. It's not exactly the same shape as a slime; it has a small antenna and a pair of wings, and it's white, not blue.

"Um...." I begin, before realizing I don't know what to say, or if I should say anything.

Heh, poking it was kind of funny. Well, I think it's time we at least try and mend fences, because a strange creature being pissed at you can never be good.

[X] Give apologetic smile, for poking at it - no need to be rude.

I agree, but growl at it if it in any way appears aggressive.
>>
>>22716575
It's a tiny slime.
Growling at it could very well scare it, and it's in a strange place right now.
Especially when you consider how Zoe reacted around it, and then we poked it - talking in a soft tone will help calm it down.
>>
man I stop to read the 1st thread and look what happens
>>
>>22716613
That's fine - growling is better than trying to attack it or anything like that, so I'd agree with it.
But let's try and talk it out first - if it's sapient or not, appearing in a strange new place, and having an odd creature scream and avoid you only for another one to come in and poke you must be stressful.

So, talk first, and see where it goes, ok?

It's still kind of cute, I guess.

"Do you have a name, or something? I'm not really sure what to call you..." I'm rewarded with another "pu." for my efforts.

With a sigh, I get back up, and shake my head. It seems I won't be getting anything out of it right now.

With the Doctor gone, Zoe doing much better, and the egg hatched, I'm not sure what to do now.

Suddenly, I realize how how hungry I myself feel, and look at Zoe.

"You feeling up to eating something?"

She nods sheepishly, and from beneath the bed, I hear a hopeful sounding "bu?" and the little angel slime pokes out from underneath the bed, its large eyes staring up at me.

"You're hungry, too?" I can only guess that it's nodding, since there's no neck, but it does move. Well, that's another mouth to feed, then.

I head downstairs, and begin perusing through my kitchen, thinking about what I could make for the two of them, and what I'm going to eat.

I don't even know if the little thing eats human food at all, for that matter.

Chicken soup would be good, I figure. For Zoe anyway. And that little thing, I don't even know what it'll eat.

Maybe sandwiches would be nice. I mean, everyone loves sandwiches of some kind, right?

I make myself and the little guy some peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches, going for the most basic of basic.

At the same time, I get to heating up the soup, and perhaps a little tea as well, since I know the steam's always been good for her breathing.

With the kettle and soup heating up, I head back upstairs to tell her that it'll only be a few minutes, and find the slime-thing sitting at my desk, staring at my laptop. Zoe sends it an exasperated look, before turning to me, still stuck in the bed as she is.

"I tried to get it to get down, but it doesn't seem to want to."

I assure her that it's alright, and that I'll have some soup and tea ready soon. She smiles gratefully, and I turn to the little creature on my desk. Upon taking a closer look at the screen, I notice it's merely watching the screensaver, its little eyes following the swirls of light as they travel across the screen in wonder.

With a smile of my own, I head back downstairs, readying the soup and tea for Zoe, and placing the bowl, cup, and plate of sandwiches on a tray, before carrying that upstairs to the both of them.

Zoe's eyes light up at the sight of the food, and the little guy can't stop drooling when I set the plate of sandwiches down. I put the tray in her lap, and she gives me as close to a hug as she can manage, with the tray on her lap, and her lack of mobility.

I hear scrambling behind me, and turn, to find that the little angel slime has eaten the sandwiches. All of them. And he's licking the plate clean. Once he's positive that there aren't any crumbs left, he looks up at me, a pleading look telling me that despite the sandwiches being gone, he's not done just yet.
>>
>>22718958

With a sigh and an amused grin, I head back downstairs, the plate in hand, to make some more snacks for what is apparently a stomach all its own.

On the way, though, I think of something. If the egg was related to the laptop, then what else might the pc be able to do?

I shake my head, and continue back down to the kitchen. The computer can wait for now. The little guy is hungry. Seriously hungry, judging by the ratio of how much food he ate to how big his body is.

I'm not about to make something that hungry wait just so I can satisfy my curiosity.

Heading back into the land of food, I prep another plate of sandwiches, since he seemed to love the PB&J's so much. This time, though, I take the peanut butter into consideration and take a glass of water with me, with a couple bendy straws stuck together to reach his face.

Taking this new tray upstairs, I set it down in front of the eagerly waiting creature, who has a look on its face that I didn't think I'd see; it's very nearly crying with joy.

It begins devouring the sandwiches with an almost surgical precision, decimating each one by one.

Again, I think of the ratio of its body to how much it eats, and I still can't figure it out.

Once it begins to sip from the water, I'm pretty sure it's forgiven me for poking it. I might be even higher in its eyes than I was before.

...I'm not sure why I think that's important.

I turn to the computer, and dispel the screensaver, staring at my desktop.

The computer's responsible for the egg and what came out of it. I just know it.

Moving the cursor around absentmindedly, I notice another file I hadn't checked before; it's a text document, nothing special like the egg, but the name jumps at at me.

{Thou has surely met thy disciple at the time of this letter, and so I implore thee; become strong. Aid Us. Save Us.}

{Let not the bindings of your world impede your path, Chosen. And despair not, for thou art not alone.}

{We await ye on the other side.}

I turn to Zoe, and she meets my gaze somewhat nervously. I suppose this has been a trying day for her, so I try and calm down, if only to make it easier on her.

"Zoe, do you have any idea what's going on?" She blinks, then slowly turns her gaze aside. "...You do know something, don't you?" I follow her line of sight, and notice she's staring at the angel slime. Who is in turn staring at me. I look back to Zoe.

"...did you have an egg pop out of your computer, too?" She nods slowly. I sigh, and palm my face, rubbing my eyes.

"So...who answered the phone when I called your place?" That gets her to look at me.

"You called my home?" I nod. "and someone answered?"

"Yeah. That wasn't supposed to happen?"

"No. No it wasn't."

We both sit there for a moment, thinking about this development.

"So... it learned to talk?" I venture.

"What makes you think we can't talk?" I look at Zoe, and she looks at me oddly. I realize with a start that she wasn't the one who said that. She seems to realize the same thing.

Slowly, I turn to the thing beside me.

(Snark) Aww, they grow up so fast.

*facepalm*
"of course. Zoe, can you look after this one while i go and get the one at your place?"

[x]Where are you?
[x]Nope
>>

Who.. what... who are you?
>>
>>22721139
>>22721123
Seconding these
>>
>>22721057
Who are you, it clearly isn't the slime.

(We skipped straight to Rookie? I thought the slime was the baby? Did we skip In-Training because of all the food, or is this Digi treated as an In-Training for this quest?)
>>
>>22721334
treated as an In-Training
>>
>>22721334
>Puttimon has no bridge to plot/Salamon, which I find unusual, but eh. This was what was decided on previously.
>>
>>22721390
it actually does in the games Digimon World Dawn/Dusk
>>
>>22721057
>[X] Who are you?
Let's ask this question first.
Again, no "what".
>>
>>22721474
>Then for the sake of this quest: That food was enough to skip an entire level.
>>
>>22721527
its counted as in-training in the game
>>
>>22721527
We're the best at this whole digimon thing, clearly.
Whoever wrote that note clearly knows who to count on, that's for sure.
>>
>>22721155
Why would you go 'nope'?
The voice seems friendly, after all, and given who it is, well, we've just given her lots of food, so we should keep up the good impression we've managed to build up
>>
>>22721639

i think by the nope, he meant 'i'm not going to question this. i just don't even' as opposed to 'I DON'T CARE!!!'
>>
>>22721639
>>22721687
Well think about it. First this thing pops out of an egg that was on his PC. Then it eats more than it should be able too. And after that it transforms into a weird dog-thing in the matter of seconds. He just turned his back.
There's only so much one can take befor NOPEing out of the room.
>>
>>22721751
Eh, to be fair, he did try and talk to it before.
And he's managed to spend some time with it, getting use to her presence.
But eh, fair point.
>>
>>22721751

exactly. so much nonsensical stuff has happened that we could resign ourselves to believing that it is a dream thusly zero fucks can be given.
>>
>>22721828
I can definitely see another day being when he might need help from his digimon to understand the situation, yeah.
>>
>>22721978
>Another day

>Does this mean you don't want to find out more today?
>>
>>22722165

no, i think he means that this will not be the only 'What The Fuck, I Don't Even' day, that there will be many, many more.
>>
>>22722165
No, no, didn't mean it like that!
I meant that, come tomorrow, it'll be hilarious to see our interaction with the digimon.

I definitely want more.
>>
>That's 3 or so for "Who are you", and two for two "other" options.

"..." I stare at the dog-like creature for a couple minutes. It patiently stares back, a smile on its face. I rub my eyes, then look back to see if it's still there.

It isn't.

I sigh in relief, and turn back to the computer, and come face-to face with the thing I thought was just a hallucination.

"Whaaatcha lookin' at?"

"GAH" I push myself back, which of course leads to me falling over. The little creature giggles to- herself? Itself? I can't really identify a gender. "What-Who the hell are you?"

I won't say I'm not a bit disgruntled with the day's events.

Because I am.

The dog-like creature sniffs in disapproval, and pouts.

"It's not very nice to ask a girl 'WHAT' she is. 'Who' is better." She hops down from the desk and paces towards me. "As for WHO I am; I'm Salamon." She sits down beside my head, a small smile on her face. "And those sandwiches were delicious. D'you have any more?"

I nod slowly, caught off guard by the change in topic. "Sure, yeah, there are more."

Zoe takes this moment to interject.

"Um...I'm sorry for asking this, I know it's rude....but what ARE you? You're not any dog I've seen before, and dogs don't transform and-" She breaks off with a single cough.

Salamon tilts her head, as if confused by the question.

"Why are you two so confused by me? You-" She looks at Zoe, "Already have a Digimon, don't you?"

Zoe and I look at each other.

Digimon?

Salamon?

What?

[] kindly explain further. (wat)

[] Zoe, we may need to go to your place

[] other?
>>
>>22722497
wat?
>>
[X] kindly explain further.

This is a good opportunity to find out more, before we go out and start working on our goal.
And it seems Zoe here is just as confused as us, so I do think we need some info here.

...Can we ask her if she wants to call back home to tell the digimon she has if it's possible to come over here?
>>
>>22722497

"Zoe, we now know who answered your phone. and based on this one, i mean Salamon's hunger, i fear for your cupboards."
"Salamon, you can explain everything to Zoe while I go and pick up the 'digimon' at her house before her parents find it..."
>>
>>22722575
IF we do go there, we definitely would need some way to make whoever answered the phone not attack us.
I'd honestly prefer to bring Salamon with us, if we do go out, though - at least that way, there wouldn't have to be multiple explanations done.
>>
So, the side wanting explanation seems to have this in the bag, right?
>>
>>22723046
>That's where we're going with this, then?
> I've been waiting for more votes.
>>
>>22723133
Seems getting some form of explanation is what the 2 posters above me want (Faceless Archivist wants info to go to Zoe first, but still want info)
>>
>>22723217

this is true. you didn't want the others putting the egg in the fridge, and i think that leaving a baby/in-training digimon in an unfamiliar house on it's own is also digimon cruelty. that and we have a legitimate concern about the status of Zoes food cupboards and fridge...
>>
>>22723285

for clarity when i said 'you didn't want' i was referring to Gale, not anon of post >>22723217
>>
>>22723285
>Would you have put a babby in the fridge?

>And your logic is sound. Any others in favor of this?
>>
>>22723385
As long as we can get some kind of proof that we do know Zoe, sure, why not.
I don't think Zoe can move safely on her own right now, after all, so it'd be up to us to get and try to help out.
>>
>>22723385
If we can bring with us our own digimon, sure, I'd be fine with it, if we want to head out.
Then we can come back, and everyone gets to listen to an explanation about what's happening here.
>>
>>22723436
Actually, that's another thing - if we bring our digimon along, maybe it'll calm down Zoe's digimon enough to let us tell it we're friends with Zoe?
>>
Anyway, I'm off for the night - looking forward to reading about how the Quest goes!

Will this be about the time you run it come this saturday, Gale?
Because that was pretty good for me!
>>
>>22723674
>I'll usually try to run it much earlier.

>>22722575
>Zoe's Parents
>In her home
>Any day of the week
>you might have missed something in the first thread...
>>
>>22723728
Yeah, her parents aren't really home much, or anything.
>>
>>22723728

hey, there could be some kind of accident near their work or something that causes them to have to go home early. that and 'Sods Law'
>>
>>22723728
Hah, sweet!
Looking forward to the one this coming week, then.
Saturday will be fun.

Thanks for running this, Gale.
>>
>>22723791
>My pleasure.
>I'm going to archive the thread just in case, while I type up what I think might be the last post of the night.
>Unless you guys want to end it here and save some of the mystery for next week?
>>
>>22724115
>save some of the mystery for next week

Ha ha ha. You funny guy.
>>
>>22724531
>Darn. And here I thought I was free.

>Oh Well.
>>
>>22724563
I'd like to make a suggestion. When taking votes make it "first to X votes." This would make things go at a faster pace, and it would ensure that more things get done.
>>
>>22724614
>That's pretty much what I do. Three is usually my signal to go, but if there's a tie, I'll go for four.
>>
>>22724695
You could also roll the dice. Evens for one choice, Odds for the other.
>>
>>22724891
>No, I'd like the choice we go with to be one a majority votes for.
>It'd feel cheap otherwise.
>>
>>22724956

there is always the 'most votes in x period of time' method, though that usually makes people slightly irate at missing part of the thread and makes it slightly vulnerable to unwanted options i.e. 'apply the dick to problem A' shit.
but it is an option none the less...
>>
>>22725052
>I also prefer to get multiple opinions, even if it takes longer, because then I have longer to type. Especially when something is going on. Like now.
>>
>>22725885

i assumed that was the case, i mean just look at HoboKing... he hasn't updated his quest in what, 6 hours, but once he wakes up from his alcohol induced stupor, he'll update and then disappear for another 6 hours...
i trust that you will end this thread in a similar way to the last one.
>>
"There's one of you...Digimon at Zoe's."

I slowly turn to look at my friend.

"...I think we need to get to your place. I fear for your cupboards."

"Um, I don't know if-" She looks down at herself, stuck in the bed, and I quickly amend my statement.

"No, you don't have to, if you don't feel up to moving! I can go myself if I have to." She nods, and reaches into her pocket, pulling out a key.

"This goes to the back door. You don't want to be seen going in through the front, since the neighbors might be watching."

I grimace and nod as I take the key. I know annoying neighbors.

"Thanks." I tell her. I don't want to make anything difficult for Zoe.

She's already got it pretty hard, and if I can make it easier for her this way, then I'll try my hardest.

"I'm going with you." Salamon sends me a small grin. "I might be able to convince the other Digimon to help us out, don't you think?"

A bit hesitant, I agree. The "Digimon" may be a bit unusual, but so far I don't have any reason not to trust her.

Plus, she looks like a dog, doesn't she? That'll keep people from looking too closely. I hope.

The collar's kind of weird, though. I mean, Gold?

As we leave the house, all my sense are on full alert. I can't be caught unaware, not with things as weird as they are.

[] head straight to Zoe's

[] see if I can pick up some more food for the other Digimon

[] other?

>This is the last entry of the night. Sorry, guys.
> I'll see you all next week, Yeah?
>>
>>22726408

it has been a pleasure, and the honor has been mine. do you have a twitter thing to announce when you'll be starting, or do you have a time in mind?
(if you have a time, please post the time-zone with it)
