It was possibly the happiest day of your career. The Director and his cronies have finally decided to acknowledge your skills, and you’ve been placed into Team 108. The best minds, magi, and shots the Society has to offer, all in a convenient eight man package. Naturally, being the best also means getting your hands dirty. A whole fucking lot. On that day’s agenda, investigating a dimensional rift out in California. Nothing out of the ordinary, especially with humanity’s Lafayette Drive experiments. The threats that Lafayette Rifts produced were nothing too threatening, a few minor Lovecraftians, and on a bad day, an Infernal, nothing worse than that.

That was what you were expecting, but not what you fucking got.

What was there was a far cry from either. It was this black goop, that clung to everything, it seemed to weigh the air itself down. It made you feel wrong. You’ve dealt with such feelings before, but this crap had exuded some force that simply made you want to curl up and cry.

Holmes, 108’s leader, a real bloody charmer, that one. Intelligent, skilled, and naturally magnetic, had simply called it discharge from the Rift, a byproduct of said rift’s opening. He and the rest of the team had practically bent down to fucking lick the crap, during their experiments.

Worse fucking mistake they ever made. Guess curiosity really did kill the cat, huh?

Time seemed to be hazy after this, but you attribute this to your currently dreaming state. You know for a fact that the next scene always takes place two months afterward. Or a week ago from now. The Shanghai Incident. Holmes, and all of 108 had gone completely batshit insane, whenever you tried talking some sense into them, it never worked, they spouted some bullshit about how humanity were the rats among giants.

They arranged for a transfer to the Shanghai defense facility, and tore the fucker wide open. That same black shit.

It left nearly a third of the megapolis either unlivable or wiped off the map. Nearly a million people dead, without counting the number of infectees, or killed by Filth walkers. Predictably the dream ends there and you bolt into an upright position. You’re phone is vibrating violently, indicating you’ve received a text message.

From: G. Gabriel
I know you’ve had a rough time in the past few days, with your family’s death and all. Just wondering when you’ll be coming back to work?

“Rough time” it putting it fucking lightly. You struggle to remember the encryption authorization patterns for a Society message, you carefully trace a few runes above your phone, careful to not let your arcanely charged finger touch the screen. The final hurdle emerges.

You congratulate yourself on managing to decrypt the message in your semi hungover state. Man’s best friend is the whiskey bottle, after all.

From: G. Gabriel.
To: W. Brown

“You’re rebuilding 108. From scratch.” Oh, you like where this is fucking going already. You’re practically the authority on Dimensional Mechanics, but the Society’s too pants on fucking head retarded to give you the resources to simply call the people you need, like their other scientists. They’d rather be wasting their time and money on chasing arcane and extraplanar wild bloody geese. Oh well, nothing much you can do there.

“I’ve compiled a list of people I think you’ll like. Note: Not all of them are human.
Lin Huang Ru-Heavy Weapons/CQC. Mercenary. Outside of New York, investigating possible rift
James Ambrose- Infiltration/Hacker. Master Thief. Currently in Empire State building, actions unknown
Mikhail Zaitsev- Magi (Kinesis)/ Marksman. Unknown. Hitman, assisting Ambrose
Yuuka Sasaki- Magi (Elementalist). Lower East side, actions unknown. WARNING. PSYCHOTIC TENDENCIES.

>What do?
>>
>>22716872
>WARNING. PSYCHOTIC TENDENCIES.
My kind of waifu.

Let's look for her first.
>>
>>22716872
Check Yuuka Sasaki's profile. Are there anti-psych meds we can force-feed her?
We should get her, then Lin, then get James and Mikhail.

We should be able to set up a teleportation circle to Yuuka's place.
>>
>>22716872
Test exactly how much we like them by attempting to kill them after sending them each 5 minute's forewarning. It's a good chance to test out those new weapons we've been working on too.
>>
>>22716933
Yes, because teleporting into a psychotic's home territory is a Good Idea.
>>
>>22716953
Who says we're going there, instead of teleporting her here, into a nice containment cell?
>>
>>22716906
Let's not. Right now she looks more like a liability than anything else.
Lin Huang looks like the most reliable one at the moment.
>>
>>22716976
Psychotic Tendencies always work out in the end, trust me.

I'm hoping for her to be a replica of Yuno, but with less knives and more fire.
>>
>>22716872
What is the political structure of this world?
>>
>>22716976
Yeah, Yuuka is probably going to be a liability, but it appears that she's one we'll have to work with. Anti-psych meds might be a solution.

Lin Huang is investigating a dimensional rift; we might want to look for him loaded for bear.
>>
>>22716906
Agreed
>>
>>22717028
Not mush as changed from the early 20th century, the EU has stabilized, China and Japan fought a war that stemmed from the Senkaku Island Dispute. This war ended in a stalemate.

China has declared martial law in Shanghai, and refugees have scattered across the world. A large number of them ended up in New York and San Diego Chinese cultural enclaves.
>>
>>22717113
Yet we apparently have a worldwide military organization?
>>
>>22717165
Right, I forgot that, except the Society doesn't get involved in such trivial affairs.
>>
>>22717189
Are we a secret multi-national organization? Do we have any working relations with the various intelligecen agencies of the nations of the world?

>>
>>22717258
And whats our organization run like? Elected, appointed, hereditary or what?
>>
>>22717258

Majestic 12 is the only one who's been a thorn in the Society's side.

You consider your choices, you don’t like the sound of Yuuka, the last time you dealt with a psychotic magi, you almost got your head turned into a bloody fucking pulp. James Ambrose, you’ve heard of him, one of the richest people in the world, you’d bet a good deal of money that he’s currently building his fortune further. You’d assume Mikhail’s helping him. That leaves Lin Huang Ru, you’ve worked with her before, you’d wager that she’s the most mentally stable out of the bunch. You’d also wager that she’s the non human. You haven’t met anyone who could cave an Infernal’s head in with their bare hands. You draw a teleportation circle, with coordinates for said dimensional rift.

You feel like vomiting upon reaching your destination. You lean against a tree and do just that. Note to self, drawing a teleportation while hungover like a bitch is not a good idea. The good thing is, that there isn’t any Filth around the area. The bad news, there’s gunfire. And lots of it. Nothing like a good gun battle to keep you on your toes. You venture towards the source of the sounds, and spy Huang Ru as well as a few other Society members firing at Lovecraftians. Oh fucking hell, you hope you’d only see something like this in your nightmares.

>Specialization: Applied Dimensional Mechanics
>School: Conjuration

Hmm, I immediately see a couple uses:
>Summoning - Could use it to summon extra-dimensional allies, though the loyalty of lovecraftian monster will probably be questionable at best. In my opinion to risky to to be relied upon.
>Un-summoning/reverse summoning - Could be used to remove hostile/dangerous extra-dimensional entities, if possible reverse summoning a mundane enemy to a hostile dimension would be a very effective method of eliminating them and leaving few if any traces.
>Teleportation - If it's possible to establish two or more portals in the same dimension it could be used as a means of transportation. If the portals can be established and dispersed sufficiently quickly it could be used as a sort of short range 'blinking' (see nightcrawler). Otherwise long range teleportation is still highly useful.
> Scrying/information gathering - If teleportation is possible and you can look out to the other side of the portal it could conceivably be used to 'scy' a location with the added bonus of quickly transporting to said location. If an object maintains it's kinetic energy when entering a portal it could be placed in front of a large stationary gun with the other end of the portal being placed in front of what you want to destroy.
If not you could still use a bomb of some sort.

Like, a molecule of antimatter?

I mean, you've got to be careful with the size, so that you don't end up killing us as well.

A molecule of antimater reacting with a molecule of matter would create several thousand joules of energy. AKA, a big ass explosion.

You breath a sigh of relief, the Lovecraftians may be Filthed, but they’re nothing too difficult to handle. It seems that the Deep Ones have a agility bonus from the Filth. Though Huang Ru is doing a good job of keeping them pinned to anything her heavy machine gun can’t tear through.

A pair of Earth Golems should do the trick. You fall to your knees, chanting as well as drawing the proper runes into the ground. The ground warps and distorts as a pair of temporary rifts emerge. two hulking Earth Golems look to you for guidance. You point at the Deep Ones, they acknowledge your order and break into a surprisingly fast run. barreling through the titanium bulkhead the Deep Ones were hiding behind. The first few were trampled underfoot. The other tried to run, but efforts were quickly stymied by a golem grabbing two of them, and slamming them into the ground. Needless to say, even with Filth enhancements, they’re deader than dead. You dispel the golems into mist. Hunag Ru seems to be staring at where the golems once stood, slack jawed in awe. She looks back at you, and you take a bow.

“A brilliant show, if I do say so myself.”

1 gram of matter equals 20 kilotons of TNT equals a kill radius of roughly 2 kilometers against humans. Probably less against what we're fighting.

We could try summoning it inside a small vacuum chamber and teleporting it to the target if we're worried about survival.
>>
>>22718112
Targeted teleportation of a bullet into a target's brain, or teleporting out their jugular or heart.
One-time use teleportation circles written onto playing cards to allow for fast casting.
Compressing spell formulae into other spell formulae, so that expanding one spell results in 15 sub-spells being extracted and cast.

Creating a large teleportation circle and spatial inversion field, and bringing in a part of the Sun the size of a thimble into the center of the circle.

Oh, you know what else you could do with the teleport cards? Place one on a door or wall, and have it teleport out a section that its attached to.
Or give them to people for emergency teleport out to a pre-determined safe zone.

“Doc Brown. It’s been awhile, hasn’t it, Lin?”

“So, you finished here, or do we have to slot more things?” You ask, Huang seems to have regained her composure.

“Yeah, there’s a possibility for an Echo Tango class contamination around here. I have no idea what that means, I was hoping someone more in the know would show up. There’s still those weird looking Lovecraftians further down in the warehouse of the docks.”

Echo Tango. Erasure Teams. Fucking hell, that’s not good, better nip this one in the bud before the Society decides that it’s Exterminatus time.

“Anything worse than Deep Ones out there?”

It'll let us see everything from above without a drone.

Also, is the one-time use teleport card idea plausible? Can we have a deck of them?

Oh. Mechanical Incubi, sounds like fun. It’s not like vanilla versions aren’t already difficult enough to deal with. You mutter a different set of chants in frustration, and trace runes in the air. Huang seems to be apprehensive of what you’re doing, Within a few seconds, your incubi contact, Solomon DeVille materializes.

“Hey! If it isn’t my favorite summoner! What needs doing, old chap?” He’s only been in existence on this plane for a little less than ten seconds, and you already want to fucking strangle him.

“Mechanical Incubi. Docks Warehouse. Tell me about them. Don’t get seen. Go.” You growl. He nods quickly and hops into the air, flying to his destination. A few seconds later, and energy bolts have torn the warehouse roof open.

One thing. You’ve told him to do one simple fucking thing, and he’s already fucked it up. You motion for Huang to follow you to clean up DeVille’s mess.

I knew that a pair of air elementals and a portal in the air would have been better.

Take out a pair of cards, get a pair of air elementals for scouting ahead.
Take out another pair of cards, and get some Earth Golems to be our tanks.

Move out with the golems on point and the elementals scouting ahead.

>>22718990

We can have an air elemental take a couple of our teleport cards and place them either underneath or on the backs of enemies. We remote trigger the cards and force-teleport parts of them somewhere else.
>>
>>22718981
Can we see through our portals? You're imagining them like the videogame, but placing one in the air and looking through them might not work.

You suppose you’d better try to rescue him, you focus on him, and bring him back to your position. He almost blasts you in the face with a bolt of black energy.

“I could have handled it! Why’d you do that?!” You swear that every word that comes out of his mouth drives you closer to insanity. He’s not even a fucking Lovecraftian.

“Were you going to kill them by flailing helplessly in the air?” Solomon seems to be in the process of developing his own clever retort.

“Don’t answer that. We have to clean up your mess.” You air elementals, they might be childish, and might not be able to spell subtlety, but they sure as hell knew what it meant. Plus, they’re adorable, you can never stay mad at them for too long. You give them a few teleportation cards to place in the warehouse. They flit away. A few seconds later, and they’ve accomplished their task.

“See Solomon? You just got beat by a pair of little girls. Step up.” You summon another Earth Golem. You throw four cards on the ground, and step through. You feel the hair on the back on the back of your head stand up. Suddenly, a clawed appendage tears through the Mechanical Incubus like a monomolecular blade through butter, leaving it ruined and sparking on the ground. Several other Incubi appear to be guarding something.

“Stay on your toes, Doc.” Huang says.

“Huang, were they supposed to be guarding something?” She finishes setting up her heavy machine gun on the ground. She rubs her chin in thought.

“Come to think of it, those Deep Ones only seemed to attack after a few eggheads went into the docks. It wouldn’t be a stretch to think they are.”

“Solomon, make yourself useful, and tear those mechies to pieces.” You order, you summon another Earth Golem. It stands idly. You order both of them into the fray. Chaos quickly erupts. You could always use some extra magical firepower, and you consider summoning Aszathlos. What you don’t need, however, is a scantily clad succubus distracting you in the midst of battle. Fuck it. You draw the runes to summon her.

“Hey there, Wyatt, it’s been a while, why don’t we have some fun~?”

“Y’know what would be fun? If you could throw a few water spells at those Mechanical Incubi” She puffs out her cheeks in frustration. Before carrying out your orders. Huang is loosing torrents of plasma at the incubi, letting your Golem and Solomon do their grusome work with relative ease. Solomon’s laughs still unerve you. Aszathlos is unleashing streams of water at the incubi, disorientating them, or outright short circuiting them. An incubi is sneaking up onto Huang’s position. You’re about to yell a warning when her arms become draconic, she tears the titanium plated incubi open within a second. Now it’s your turn to be awed. Within the next minute, the mechanical incubi are in ruined heaps. They appeared to be guarding some sort of shrine.

“Huh, dragon arms, I didn’t expect that. Neat.” That rules out who’s the non human on Gabriel's list. You give Aszathlos a pat on the head, which earns you a sultry look. You have Solomon and the golem take point around the shrine, with Huang ready to perforate anything that moves. You set up a few protection wards around the shrine, in case it’s hiding any nasty secrets. You begin your examination of the shrine. Huh, you’ve never seen that for awhile, the glyphs for “dead gods can still dream”. Another three glyphs adorn the shrine. You translate them roughly to mean “Filth” “Dirt” and “Taint”

So whoever set up this shrine had intended to use it to taint Lovecraftians with Filth for God knows what fucking purpose. You’re just glad that the incubi seemed to have shut their operation down. Well, all's well that ends well.

You call for a clean up crew, hopefully, said team won’t be a fucking Erasure Team, otherwise everything that you’ve just done had gone to waste. You have Aszathlos patrol the perimeter of the docks, in case any other nasties decided to come late to the party. You give Solomon free reign to do what he wants with the shrine, and predictably, he gleefully smashes it to stone pieces. The rotor blades of a VTOL drones, signalling the arrival of the clean up team. You call Lin over to you, you’d wager that she isn’t aware of 108’s “defection”, as well as their part in the near destruction of her hometown.

“Remember Holmes?” She nods “He was Filthed” You struggle with the next part, you can’t just blatantly tell her that your mutual friends were directly responsible for fucking up Shanghai.

“Uhh, you see, Holmes, and the others were ‘compromised’, they may have had, a small part in the Shanghai Incident” Her face pales in shock, and remains in that state for a few seconds. Then, her face contorts into a visage of pure hatred and anger.

“When do we kill them.” She growls.

“Soon, but first, I have a job offerin-

“If it means beating each of them to the brink of death, count me in.” Excellent. She shares the anger for Holmes with you. Asztalos reports no other threats. You inform the VTOL pilot that you need transport.

Yeah, but they're both in the Empire State Building, most likely in the middle of a job. It would be best to give him a call first to see if James is in a place where we can talk, or if he's busy trying to break into something.

You take the VTOL back to the Society field camp just outside the docks. You never really realized it, but the East River looks quite pretty at night, even if it's filled with Deep Ones and Draug. The sky looks even better, with lights of starships and orbital solar collectors dotting the sky in all sorts of blues, yellows, and reds.

You shake yourself out of reverie, and have Huang reload her weapons. You take a compact SMG. The model's favored by hitmen and corporate assassins. It should do just fine.

You call James, and it goes to his voice mail. That's odd. He's probably mucking about with Mikhail in the Empire State building. You've heard rumors that he's stolen the bloody Mona Lisa. You call again, this time, he picks up, a says a few words to someone that you can't hear, and then hangs up. That confirms your suspicions.

Welp; James doesn't want to be bothered.

ACCESSING
GRANTED...
===Yuuka Sasaki===
An especially skilled Magus, who has access to all four classical elements, as well as manipulation of plant life, as well as lightning.

First contact with the [FILTH], though it was unknown to us what is was at the time. Somehow, her body managed to [EXCISE] the [FILTH]. Though her mind remains severely affected by the [FILTH]. She is under watch from the [SOCIETY] to prevent incidents. She has taken a refugee from the [SHANGHAI INCIDENT] into her home. Anti psychotics will prevent incidents, if they don't [BULLETS] will.
>>
>>22724602
Grab anti psychotics. Go to her house.

See if there's any further information on her, her episodes, and her personality.

Also, what information does the Society have on the refugee?

Granted....
Relative standard bouts of psychosis,[PARANOIA/AUDIO/VISUAL/HALLUCINATIONS/DELUSIONS]

ACCESS: "REFUGEE"
Magus, no experience, though extremely powerful. [EXTRACTION] to occur on [REDACTED]. Preferably when Yuuka is not present.
>>
>>22724792
Yeah. Lets deal with her first. Go to her home and knock on the door.

Damn REDACTEDs.

Let's pay her a visit, knock on her door, bring snacks and some tea to share.
>>
>>22724792
Extracting the Refugee seems like it would result in Yuuka going into another psychotic episode.

Anyway, let's get cleaned up, and if we're over our hangover, teleport to grab some Japanese green tea and some appropriate snacks, then teleport to in front of Yuuka's place.
Ask Huang if she wants to come along, or if she's got a report to file first.
>>
>I forgot to add, you had dispelled your summons when the VTOL landed

"You comin' with, Hunag?" You ask, you shouldn't need her help, you probably wouldn't end up doing much anyways, you don't have claws that can tear through fucking titanium.

"I'll go check on James and Mikhail, in case they need the help" Sounds like a good plan, killing three birds with two rocks.

You give the pilot the address to Yuuka's apartment, James and Mikhail are big boys, they can take care of themselves. Right? The VTOL lands in the alleyway, and you disembark. You conjure a cup of green tea, as well as a tray of snacks, best to keep her calm. You rap on the door, only to find that the lock has been shot out.

Have an Air Elemental come up and look inside for us. Have it take a couple of teleport cards, and order it to give the cards to Yuuka and the Refugee if it can find them.

Get our offensive teleport stickers ready. Have another Air Elemental ready to slap them on anyone who attacks us.

Look through the shot out lock to see inside.

You look through the lock, reveling men in hardsuits. Military fucking grade hardsuits. You're not sure if they notice you, they seem to be investigating something out of the way.

You dive behind a wall, and reach for your SMG and deck of spellcards. you summon an air elemental. And give it a pair of teleportation cards, and set it off to look for Yuuka and the
Refugee. You summon a few others and give them offensive teleportaion stickers, and send them off to their targets.

Unfortunately, the buzz of their flight signals the hardsuiters. They get dispelled via mass accelerator bullets. Fuckity fuck. One of them is walking towards to the door. Your SMG isn't going to do much against them

>What do?
>>
>>22725257
Make a bunch of teleportation circles spread out. If some of the hardsuits come through, do a partial teleport to tear them apart.
>>
>>22725257
Place a teleport spellcard right on the ground of the door so that when he steps up to the door, it'll teleport him away.

A couple other stickers on the ground to tear apart anyone else that comes through.
>>
>>22725257
Set up murdery teleport stickers at the door so they get ripped apart as they walk through. Get to cover and prepare to summon some elementals, maybe give fire a shot, to assault the rest of the hardsuiters and burn their faces off.
>>
>>22725384
>>22725331
Shouldn't we try to find a corner or someplace to not be in the line of fire when the guys come out?

Also, does the Society use hardsuits? The Society was going to separate Yuuka from the Refugee; could this be a Society snatch team?

I think we need to get in touch with Gabriel before we kill people who could be our allies.
>>
>>22725507
The Society does employ the usage of hardsuits, though only high risk operators, like Erasure Teams get to use them.

Any operation against Yuuka could be considered "high risk".
>>
>>22725581
Maybe we shouldn't go straight for the murder stamps, then.

Can we have the teleport spellcard on the floor set up to teleport the guy away and into the waiting arms of an earth golem?
While we call up Gabriel (from the safety of the alley of the apartment building the VTOL set us down in) and ask him if we just stepped into a Society sanctioned snatch job?
>>
>>22725654
If we can get Gabriel on the phone quickly enough this would work.
>>
>>22725581

Fuck fuck fuck fuck. They're armed with assault rifles, no doubt the MWhateverthefuck that fires death at 200 round a fucking minute. You're wearing a teeshirt and a pair of jeans. With hardware like that, you may as well have been wearing nothing at all. You bolt down the hallway, throw a teleportation card down and step through it, emerging in the alleyway that you were dropped off in. You stumble around for your phone, and you manage to call Gavin Gabriel.

"H-hey, Gav? Yeah, yeah. I know. I know. Were we ever supposed to pick up a refugee from my aunt's house? No? Then who was?" You scurry further down the alleyway.

"Majestic 12? What the fuck could they want with a refugee?"

"No, 108 was going to kidnap the Refugee to spark a psychotic episode in Yuuka, they were going to plant her in the New York defense facility, and I'm sure you can fill in the blanks from there"

"You think MJ12 is trying to pull the same shit?"

"There isn't any other reason to kidnap a refugee."

"Thanks for the info, look, I gotta go." You end the call as one of your Air Elementals returns, it reports where MJ12 are, but it couldn't get it's payload to either Yuuka or the Refugee.

Your phone rings, and the amount of shit you're willing to take hits a critical mass. It's Zaitsev.

"Holy fuck! MJ12 goons are everywhere! Wyatt, get your fucking ass over here!" You call for a VTOL to be on standby, just in case.

>What do?
>>
>>22726131
Goddamn, we need to clean out these goons and secure Yuuka and the Refugee, but we also need to bail out Zaitsev and James.

Have the Air Elemental place a destination spell card on the roof of the apartment building. Summon Aszathlos, have her go invisible and look in through the windows of Yuuka's apartment to find out what's going on.

Meanwhile, we teleport to Zaitsev's location with a pair of Earth Golems in case we're teleporting into a gun battle. Our priority is to get him, James, and Huang out and back here to find the Refugee and secure them.
>>
>>22726131
"You with Ambrose? Lin should be inbound to you and him, once you get together hold up somewhere so I can get you all teleported to a VTOL on standby to get out of here if you can't make it there yourself.

I'd love to help more but some chucklefucks are after Yuuka and the Refugee with her, I don't need to tell you what'll happen if she gets set off."

Summon up Solomon and a pile of Fire Elementals, to attack and distract them so Air Elementals can lay down telefrag cards on these fucks.

Once Zaitsev is together with the others teleport them to the VTOL or somewhere else safe.
>>
>>22726131
>I forgot to add that your Codex is 108's Codex, so you'll know everything 108 was planning to do, up to and after the Shanghai Incident.

Pretty much if there's a Filth infestation, that is, or has the possibility of getting fuckhuge, then the Society sends in the Erasers to magically nuke the place. Nothing survives within a three kilometer radius.

Luckily, Erasure Teams haven't seen action yet.
>>
>>22726458
We're going to need to read that as soon as we're in a safe place.

Right now, we need to see if Lin Huang has linked up with James and Zaitsev, and if they can hold out while we try to get the Refugee and Yuuka.
>>
>>22724602

>>22726901

So the Air Elemental meant that Yuuka and the Refugee weren't in the apartment, when it said it couldn't get the cards to them?
>>
>>22726901
>Your mana reserves are getting low
We need to create mana batteries and summoning circle cards that only require mana at the time of creation, rather than activation, to get around this problem.

Tell Solomon that we are here to fuck up MJ12 and help extract a psychotic mage.

Do we have a map of the facility, or where the original 108 was planning to release Yuuka? Is there any way to track her with a scanning spell?
>>
>>22726901
"Hello Gentlemen of Majestic Twelve. I am currently looking for a Ms. Yuuka Sasaki and her Refugee companion. Now as you've noticed that I have a friend with me, and I'm sure you know that he is only the first of many friends I have that would make your day extremely unpleasant.

I would suggest that you cease pursuing Yuuka, give me whatever information you have on her location, and let her go freely. Then you will withdraw your forces and go back to hiding into whatever hole you came from.

Unless of course you've been wondering what it would be like to have every single friend and family member you posses to receive a different body part of yours, I could happily do that for you if you're feeling curious."

Yeah, but wood and plantlife overlap frequently.

"I've sent you some help. Man the fuck up. You're Russian, for fucks sake." That shuts Zaitsev up quickly. There's a pause in gunfire as screams of both people and metal pierce through the air. Ambrose takes Zaitsev's phone

"Uh, not sure if that's the help, but some chick with dragonhands just tore through a squad." You give a grunt in reply.

"Get somewhere safe, I'll tele you onto a VTOL if you can't make it."

"I need to take care of a few MJ12 chucklefucks. They're after Yuuka and the Refugee with her, I don't need to tell you what'll happen if she gets set off." You set a few teleportation cards to the New York defense facility. You set another few for the Empire State Building and summon a few Earth Golems and Air Elementals. Your mana reserves are getting low. You step into a teleportation card to the location of MJ12's hostage. Apparently, they're waiting for extraction, probably to the defense facility. MJ12 is everywhere. You summon Solomon, and tell him to shut the fuck up and chill the fuck out.

>What do?
>>
>>22727206
Ah, so we've appeared near the Refugee. Are we next to them, or is MJ12 between us and them?
Can we teleport out with the Refugee?
Are the Earth Golems and Air Elementals with us as well?
>>
>>22727302
MJ12 has both Yuuka and the Refugee under heavy guard, with overwatch snipers in the buildings. You can summon maybe two more elementals before you'll pass out.

Note: Solomon can only be injured by blessed weapons, which are not in the MJ12's possession. You, on the other hand, can still get brained, so stick to cover, and don't do anything rash.
>>
>>22727206
>Yeah, but wood and plantlife overlap frequently.
This is the point. Rather than have her as an elementalist of the four classical elements, plus plantlife, why not just have her as a Wood elementalist? I would think it fits better.
>>
>>22727399
Agreed, minor retcon it is.
Yuuka specializes in Wood elementalism.
>>
>>22727389
>>22727206
Okay, we're not in the NY Defense Facility, but someplace else. We are not in the apartment building?

And this building we are in, there's MJ12 overwatch snipers in the surrounding buildings, and MJ12 guards watching over both Yuuka and the Refugee.

Where are we in relation to the MJ12 guards, inside the building, and to Yuuka and the Refugee?

Sorry, but that was unclear in your posts, and in this situation with snipers, the information is important.
>>
>>22727469
Right. Apologies. You teleported to a wide alleyway, similar to the one you were in. The snipers are on the roofs of the building to the right and left of Yuuka and the Refugee. You're around the corner from the MJ12 guards. The guards are surrounding Yuuka and the Refugee.
>>
>>22727590
How fast are the Air Elementals, and can Solomon turn invisible?
Could he turn invisible, take the teleport cards to Yuuka and the Refugee, activate them, then be let loose on the MJ12 faggots?
>>
>>22727694
Solomon's abilities are all focused in being choppy or shooty. Even if he could turn invisible, he's about as noticeable as a bright yellow elephant.

Air Elementals are fast, but noticeable, they work better in environments like this, where they can build airspeed faster.
>>
>>22727694
>>22727776
What happens if we create a field around him to dimensionally warp space such that he's invisible? Perhaps we could theoretically have light entering the field exist in two different places at once, one spatial clone travelling in to him and terminating there, the other passing straight out the opposite side of the field undisturbed.
>>
>>22727776
>where they can build airspeed faster.
So, could they go out, then build up speed of say, 100 mph, and barrel down the alley, slapping teleport cards onto Yuuka and the Refugee so that they get teleported away and Solomon can cut loose?
Would their buzzing be detected before they could build up enough speed or get the teleport cards activated?

This is probably all evident to the character, but not to the players.
>>
We need a distraction so that the Air Elementals can get through. I suggest we send one of the AE up with a Fire Elemental summoning card, and then have it activate it behind the group.
When their backs are turned then we send in the Earth Elemental.
>>
>>22727835
We could use the golems we have as a distraction.

OP, what would the guns that MJ12 have do against our Earth Golems?

We could have the Air Elemental with the teleport cards go straight up a hundred feet or two, then come straight down onto Yuuka and the Refugee, building up speed on the way down and having gravity help.
>>
>>22727876
It would be like shooting a modern day tank with a pistol.

>>22727827
See: >>22727876

>>22727808
That works.

Nice elements of surprise here, though I'd minimize gloating. Until after Solomon, the Elementals, and the Golems beat them half to death.
>>
>>22727935
Okay, how's this for the plan, since we don't have much time.

We have the Air Elemental go up a hundred feet with the teleport cards, then come down like a dive bomber onto Yuuka and the Refugee, teleporting them to safety.

We give Solomon one of our Cloaking Field cards so that he can go invisible. He goes up to the roofs and gets ready to make the snipers have a very bad day.
His signal is when Yuuka and the Refugee disappear.

And the Earth Golems turn the corner and start beating up the MJ12 goons.
The golems move in when the Air elemental is on its way down, so that the MJ12 goons point their guns and their attention towards the golems and lets the elemental do its job.
>>
>>22728047
We need to be careful about the Air Elementals though since apparently the release lights when they fly.
>>
>>22728047
I suggested the Cloaking Field offhand, but bear in mind that it interacts very strangely with liquids and solid objects.
>>
>>22728104
There wasn't any mention of lights, only of a buzzing sound.
>>
>>22728151
Ah, in that case it shouldn't be a problem.

Last post of the night, new thread up around 5:00 EST

You focus the last of your mana onto making Solomon invisible, warping the space around him making it impossible to be reveled, until you want him to be. That took a lot out of you, you're not doing that again. You summon a Fire Elemental, nobody with half a fucking brain would dare go up against the small team you've composed.
The Earth Golems lumber towards their target, crushing them as people shout, bullets pinging harmless off their hides. You have the Air Elementals divebomb Yuuka and the Refugee with teleportation cards. They're teleported onto the VTOL before MJ12 can even react. The Fire Elemental launches beams of heat, with laser like precision, igniting the snipers. Now, it's Solomon's part.

"HERE'S SOLLY!" Fucking hell. That doesn't even work. You facepalm at his failed attempted reference. Regardless, he tears through anyone who survived their initial fusillade of summons. You move up to examine the carnage, making sure nothing that could be of use later is missed.

One of the MJ12 troops is still alive.

"W-who sent you? " He gurgles.

>What say
>>
>>22728340
He doesn't get an answer. Have one of the Earth Golems knock him out.

Call up Gabriel, ask for a clean-up crew to bag this live trooper, then call up Ambrose and see how they're doing.
>>
>>22728340
>"The Naaaaaziiiiiiiis..."
Warp light into a camera lens while remotely activating it to capture his face, before knocking him out.
>>
>>22728340
"The other guys."

Let's see if he names their competitors.
I'd like to add that, so far this has been much more enjoyable than the other quest you made.
>>
>>22728461
>he gurgles
I don't think he can really talk right now.
>>
>>22728340
I dunno, I kinda like Solomon, "Here's Solly" isn't all that bad a line.

"Take a guess."

Then we should knock him out, strip him in case his clothes can be tracked somehow, take him with us, and then put him in a warded Faraday cage so he can't be tracked via spells or any hypothetical implanted transmitters.
>>
>>22728518
I'd rather let Gabriel handle the clean-up.
We don't know if James, Lin Huang, and Zaitsev are alright, or if they're pinned down and waiting on our teleports.
>>
>>22728552
That makes sense, knock him out, put him somewhere and have Gabe call in some clean up people.
