Tahira is, by comparison, long just about everywhere it matters. You fight to bring your focus back to what your master sergeant is saying.

What has to be done is to ask them what they want out of this training, and what they are willing to give up for it.

Your tankers are constantly going over their equipment, checking and rechecking that the systems and delicate machinery are still in working order. So far, everything seems to be working the way it's supposed to, save for the known striker issues.

You find Patterson sitting in front of her striker unit, staring at it intently, chin resting in her hand. Beside her, Ooishi is either maintaining, or modifying her M40. You can't tell which it is. Facing the other way and just behind the two of them, Rosalez has her .50 caliber M2 apart on her poncho liner, carefully going through everything with a fine tipped brush. A bottle of LSA lubricant sits next to her, it's cap tightly closed.

“Hey there girls, what's up?” You ask, tightening the straps on your plate carrier.

“Not a whole lot, sir. Doing some regular maintaining stuff. Mary's still bummed over her striker though.” Ooishi replies, not taking her eyes off Muramasa. It's barrel and furniture have been wrapped loosely with burlap strips, probably torn from a potato sack bought from the local market.

Her rifle is almost entirely covered, with incisions to allow her to adjust the scopes optics. In fact, the only parts that are left exposed are the trigger, barrel ending, and scope lens. Otherwise, almost the whole rifle is buried under burlap.

“Um, Sushi, whatcha doin'?” You ask, leaning up against the nearest tank, which just so happens to be the booze hound. Despite killing seven Saudi tanks, Nicky hasn't painted any new markers on. Probably just because it was a simulated exercise, not the real thing.

No, actually. We can argue the morality of the act all we want, but the fact of the matter is that we're an officer attached to a Special Forces unit. We are effectively untouchable, considering what those have gotten away with historically. The Saudis could bitch and moan all they want, we're not gonna gonna get handed over, and it's highly unlikely we'd be court-martialed for it.

Frankly, Special Forces get away with murder on a regular basis, and taking out that much of a bitch will garner nothing but appreciation.

Tomorrow starts your actual training of the 1st Royal House Guards and Princess-Lieutenant Fatima Tahira, something you can't honestly say you're looking forward to.
