Yachett Quest 1: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/22606789/

Meet Yachett.

Yachett is a little bird with big dreams. One day- Oh wait, we're past that part, aren't we? Our friend Yachett seems to be in a bit of trouble.

Yachett, and his new, plant-like ally, are currently about to try to fight off a duo of Gorglesprots which followed Yachett from the next cave.

Yachett was preparing his newly learned HEX, while Vinem was about to use his FEAR CLOUD. (Ash + Terror). The Gorglesprots, as usual, are preparing a few LIGHTNING BOLTS. (Sparkle + Radiant)

But before we see what happens next, perhaps we should give our newcomers a little time to catch up, and also maybe post a few more important bits of information...

And we can't forget these fellows, now can we? They always say, "Know your enemy!"
>>
Hello Narrator, hopefully this thread takes off as well as the last one did.
>>
More Yatchett Quest? Today is a good day.
>>
Awww, fuck yeah.

Also, to free up space so we can see the fight, let's just stack extra health on top of the original bars. I think that makes for a better narration.

Now, back to the story!

Spells are thrown back and forth, and damage is received. One Gorglesprot is FEARED, and won't attack next turn, while the other becomes HEXED, and will have to skip a turn entirely.

Hmmm. Their lightning bolts seems to deal quite a bit of damage. Unless Yachett continues to get lucky with status effects, things are not looking good!

Today is a good day

I say we keep focusing on Earth and Seduction, we're never going to get anywhere putting points in a bunch of different things.

Use our 2 in air to hit them with a Razor Wind. Have Vinem do a physical attack.

Perhaps Vinem could try to intimidate the Gorglesprots. Or use a Water/Earth attack. Or use an intimidating Water/Earth attack.

Yachett and Vinem decide to do two attacks on the same foe; a physical and an air attack. Very effective, a total of 3 damage. I wonder why they didn't think of-

Oh right. One point in intellect.

The lower Gorglesprot is now dizzy. The upper one has used his turn to CHARGE his attack for next round.
>>
>>22645552
Make an Earth Wall in front of the upper Gorglesprot to block the attack.
>>
>>22645552
I wonder whether Pokemon rules apply. Maybe one of them could use Earth magic to dampen the lightning attacks.
>>
>>22645574
Good idea. Vinem can do that, right? So Yachett can continue air attacking the downward foe.

Full offense on the bottom. Wind + Water.

Can we combine them to use Typhoon?

Continue to attack the bottom one with Air and Water.

Air and Water seems to be the most popular suggestion. Let's try that.

Two and a half damage! That isn't bad at all... But our team is losing four every turn.

Attacks seem to work best with multiple elements that are similar to each other, especially when separate people are using them. So, let's try to think of more combinations like that, shall we?
>>
>>22646139
Fear Cloud from Vinem, Air to drive it forwards from Yatchett!
>>
>>22646139
Vinem has 2 in EARTH and Yachett has 2 in AIR.

Can we launch some sharp rocks propelled by AIR?
>>
>>22646139
Try a combo DOOM and TERROR attack.
>>
>>22646139
I'd still like to see a combo Water and Earth attack.
>>
>>22646448
This.

Can we combine them to summon a Mud Elemental?
>>
File: 1358467402911.png-(9 KB, 600x400, Yachett40.png)
9 KB
>>22645913
>>22646224
>>22646225
>>22646228

All of these seem pretty reasonable... Doom and terror both seemed to have good effects before, so maybe we'll try that one.

Aha, very good! The EYE OF FEAR has hexed both enemies and dealt one damage to them, giving us an extra turn for free!

But as you might have already noticed, it's not possible for low level magic users to use the same attacks continually. If we want Yachett and Vinem to keep combo attacking, we'll have to use different elements continually to keep our damage and status effects high.

What else can we try? Perhaps something someone has already suggested.
>>
>>22646472
Putting my vote in for Earth+Water.
>>
>>22646472
Use EARTH and ASH to make a CHAFF CLOUD, thereby preventing them from using electic attacks.

Earth and water seems overdue for a tryout.

The combination attack doesn't seem to do much damage, but it petrifies the gorglesprot for two rounds! That will really turn this fight around.
>>
>>22646627
Quickly, kill the bottom one
>>
>>22646627
Let's try Earth+Ash now and see what that does, unless it's too soon to use Earth again? Maybe Air and Ash.

Vinem can't use earth this turn, so earth and air will have to wait.

>>22646596
>>22646781

We'll try combining earth and ash. Aha! That stops electrical attacks this turn and deals one damage to each. However, they still have their Radiant powers, so the unpetrified gorglesprot deals one damage to vinem.

I wanna launch some spikes like a badass

OP, this shit is whack.

A++ motherfucker, you are awesome.

You guys.
We should get some points in Intimidate and Terror.
Combine those with Seduction and Doom, and we'll be frighteningly sexy.
We be Slaanesh.

Anyway, combine Vinem's 2 points in Earth and Yachett's Air to create a rock shotgun effect.
>>
>>22646991
That is very likely but perhaps we can aim it at ourself as a protective spell

I want a glittering and sparkling Yachett!
Fabulous

Time for earth and air.

Swoosh! Slam! A little luck, some skill points and one good idea later, we have our finishing move! The Gorglesprot is defeated and its friend quickly retreats. We can't attempt to stop it since it's agility is so high, but either way, Yachett claims his first victory! And Vinem, too.

Yachett gains one PHYSICAL point to spend. He'll also take a little time out to use his LIFE magic to heal himself and Vinem.

We'll probably need more points in aerial to make it up those platforms without falling and become a yachett pancake.

Hmm..not sure we can take that thing by ourself, but is there nowhere else to go?

Can we get an updated stats chart with the 3 separating things again?

>>
>>22647908
This. AND the acid.
>>
If we want to go over there NOW, earth spike up once, then from that earth spike, we extend sideways over the acid.

We can lure the Meshdraught onto our bridge, and then retract it, dumping it into the acid if our seduction fails.
>>
>>22647916
Completely honestly? Life, because we need a stronger heal and possible necromancy.
>>
>>22647983
I think we have to level up Earth first. We've failed to extend Earth from pillars we already made in the past. Maybe we can go somewhere else for now to get skill points.

So let's return and climb the ledges, and make a note of this location for later.

We will probably need allies to fight something that has a warning sign and a pit of acid.

Yachett gazes upwards but he doesn't see anything. It's an awfully long ways up though, and it's kind of bright. Something might have gone up there.

In any case, Yachett will put a point in EARTH. With two points, the distance he can manipulate earth from, the damage he deals with it, and the frequency he can use it all rise. Not bad!

You can't do that with this low a level of air. When you're indoors, air magic is much harder to use, because there's no breeze to begin with.

You seem to forget that Yachett's vocabulary consists of "Yachett."

Yachett heads downward. The area to the right is blocked off by the Sworbius. Sworbiuses, actually. How interesting. In any case, when Yachett attempts to go through, they get in his way.

What's this down here?
