Welcome ladies and gentlemen to another edition of Succubus Quest! Herein we follow the adventures of our newly minted Demon Lord Brooklyn Browning and his adventures to boot out all the Demon Lords on Earth so he can become the sole ruler! The only downside to the deal was that he had to say become a Succubus in the process, but on the plus side, awesome cosmic power!

He is joined by a few of his friends. Such as: Mina Kazanari the Kung Fu Belkerian Succubus, Brodin the alcoholic Grim Reaper, and Ada Walter the Laminian Princess Ninja.

Last time we left off, our heroes took Demon Knight Blizzarios to meet the Demon Queens, who was promptly mocked for being a pedophile then devoured. We now have the ability to make a Gemelli if we bring two willing subjects to the demonic shrine. After that we met Sebastien, a psionic trooper that was an Old World holdover, and then we went home to recover.

After the battle, you manage to make it back to Fort Hope without any major problems. Brodin said he wanted to stay behind and talk to Sebastien a bit, while Ada went on ahead back to the castle. Leaving you to help Mina back to your house. Due to her injuries, she’s mainly leaning on you for support.

“Ah! Careful of the ribs!” Mina says as you take the step up into your house.

“Mina, if you’re this hurt then why don’t we just go see a doctor?” you ask, she’s been amazingly stubborn about not wanting to go visit the doctor.

“I told you I’ll be fine! I just need a bit of time to heal.” Mina protests.

“Fine fine, but at least let me give you some minor medical care.” you say as you bring out the first aid kit.

“Only if you do yourself first! You’re an Okarian, so you’re going to heal a lot slower than I will.” Mina reminds you.

“Oh fine...” you sigh as you remove your armour. You note that you’re going to need to get someone to patch it up. Even though they were grazing blows, Blizzarios’s ice shard attack still tore through the leather armour. You’re going to need to get that repaired in town. Another expense added to the pile...

You then look at the wounds on your arm. The wounds are almost to the point where you think they could use stitches, but you think you’ll be fine if you just used some bandages around it. You break out the old world medkit. You take out the rubbing alcohol, and wince at the sharp pain that comes when you put some over your wounds.
>>
>>22628017

[2/5]

“Baby...” Mina chuckles on your bed.

“I’m a scholar. I’m adverse to pain.” you reply. You take out the gaze and bandage, then wrap your arm up. You don’t know much in medicine, but you do know some basic first aid.

“Alright, now it’s your turn.” you say as you walk over to Mina.

Mina is already mostly disrobed and lying on the bed waiting for you. You can tell that she is in much worse condition than you. You think you can see evidence of some bones being broken, frostburn over various parts of her body, lower than normal body temperature, in addition to a large number of cuts ranging from minor to major all over her body. “...Wow I’m surprised you’re still standing Mina...” You say as you get out some rubbing alcohol for her wounds. True to her boasting, she doesn’t wince or even seem to react when you put alcohol on an open wound.

“Ha ha... You’d be surprised the kind of punishment the humanoid body can withstand...” Mina softly chuckles.

It takes some time and most of the medical kit’s bandages and gaze, but you manage to fully patch Mina up.

“Alright... Now all we need to do is cuddle together for the rest of the night.” you tell Mina as you blow out your lantern.

“C-cuddle! Sorry, but nows not the best time Brooklyn as I have broken ribs...” Mina apologizes.

You give her a small tap to the forehead. “It’s for sharing body heat. Heat transfer works by a warm object going to a cold one. So if I’m close to you then your body will warm up faster.”

“...OH yea! I think I heard that before!” Mina explains. “Then sure, cuddle up!”

You move over to Mina, cuddling up close to her. You can feel your breasts squish into the soft flesh and smooth bandages of her back, while your own legs intertwined with her own. You scoot up a bit more so that both of you are closer together.

“...Hey Brooklyn?” Mina asks.

“Hm?” You reply.
>>
>>22628026

[3/5]

“Do you miss your dick now?” Mina asks teasing you.

“Like you wouldn’t believe...” you reply.

******

You wake up the next morning, giving a long stretch to get your body into shape.

The first thing you do after that however is check what Mina’s body temperature is. Simply by putting your wrist on her head, you can tell that she’s warmer than she was last night, so that takes care of that.

You get out of bed, heading over to the light the fireplace, you need to warm your house up a bit. Brodin seems like he hasn’t returned yet, but you don’t give it much thought. He’s probably pretty good on his own and he’ll most likely be back soon.

“Mmm... Morning already?” Mina asks.

“Yup. Sleep well?” you ask her as you put a kettle on.

“Yea... Like a brick... It’s rare for me to sleep like that. Usually I only sleep about four hours.” Mina replies.

“Four hours? And you’re perfectly functional?” you ask.

“Yup! Though the Aides are more extreme in that. Most of them don’t even sleep.” Mina replies.

“...I somewhat envy that.” you mutter. You could probably get a lot more work done if you didn’t need to sleep.

“So do you have any plans today?” Mina asks.

“Yea, typical job of teaching. But you’re injured at home a-”
>>
>>22628034

[4/4]

“Brooklyn, I’m a big girl. I can take care of myself. Just leave me a good book or something. No need to hold back on my account.” Mina says.

“You sure?” you ask.

“Positive. Besides you probably have some other things to do today, don’t you? I mean those dresses you wear are probably in desperate need of some washing right?” Mina asks.

“Oh yea right. I’ll just drop them off at the baths. Everyone takes their laundry there anyways.” you reply. You don’t have a washboard, so this is typically what you do.

“Now you’re making me want to visit the bath...” Mina pouts. “But it’s OK! Once I’m done healing, we can go shopping and have a bath together!”

“Good idea.” you tell Mina as you pour her and yourself a cup of tea.

“Ah... Something nice and hot is nice for when you’re injured...” Mina sighs blissfully as she inhales the scent of the tea deeply.

You take a sip of your tea, noticing that the time is about 9:30 AM. You have a few hours before your job to do whatever you want. Taking your clothes out to get washed means that it’d be a few hours before you get them back again. There’s also those library books you’d need to either take back or renew as well, since it’s been roughly a week since you took them out. Or maybe something else entirely?
>>
>>22628041
We need to be presentable when going to our job, best thing to do would be to get our laundry done.

Besides, soaking in a good bath is good for wound relief.
>>
>>22628041
Choose an outfit to wear, drop the rest of our laundry off. We should have our soak later in the day so we have a chance to talk to Amanda and set up a teaching session with the girls. Then drop off the books we've read or don't need anymore at the library, renew the ones we're working on, and maybe get one or two more.

If we still have time before teaching we could use some energy, so finding somewhere emotional for a snack would be good.
>>
>>22628170
Oh, and make sure to leave Mina a good book, suggest one of our favorites that we think she'd like.
>>
>>22628170

Thank you for reminding me good sir!

Your current Aether levels are about 1/3 full after that large fight.

Hey Sandact, I have no idea where I found this pic, but this is about what Mina looks like, isn't it? Well, except a succubus instead of a half-dragon.
>>
>>22628240
What are Mina's at? She's almost certainly lower than us so give her some of our Aether with a kiss, we'll recover some of ours due to being in proximity to people, but she's staying in bed and resting.

Mina's health and Aether are virtually gone. She was basically in Focus mode for nearly all of the fight. Right now she's probably at 1/5th, maybe a little less.

Her health is doing better this morning than last night for sure. You can ever see some improvements in her. But she still has some ways to go.

>>22628277

Close. I originally modeled Mina after Nanako from VH. Though the picture is definately a dress that Mina would wear.
>>
[1/3]

“I think I’m going to have a morning bath then head off to work.” you tell Mina as you sip your tea while walking over to your bookshelf.

“...Oh no. You’re going to give me horribly boring and wordy books aren’t you?” Mina’s face recoils in horror.

“Na, I don’t think I’m ready to implode your brain just yet. Believe it or not, half the books I have here are actually entertainment. Most of the time when I’m done researching, I prefer to read mindless junk to relax my brain a bit.” you say as you pull out some old world bookslates. They’re basically a thin sheet of glass that displays a book to you. They normally need to be charged, but there is a merchant in town that charges them for a pittance with a small panel. Finding them in working order let alone one piece is a rarity. You bring a few over to the bed and turn them on.

“...What are these?” Mina says looking at the books.

“Bookslates. Move your finger across the page to turn it. Careful, they’re fragile.” You warn Mina as you flip a page as an example.

“...Well I’m not surprised an Okarian would own books like these...” Mina says looking over them. “...Super Robot Wars: Destiny? Fist of the North Star?”

“...Yea I couldn’t read the first one since it is in a different language. But by all means if you can read them, go right ahead.” you tell Mina as you finish off your tea. “And what do you mean you’re not surprised an Okarian owns them? I used to be human, and humans need to relax at times as well.”
>>
>>22629083

[2/3]

“I mainly meant that no matter how serious the Okarian, you almost ALWAYS find some kind of art amongst their books or scrolls. It’s nothing to worry about! You’re just fitting the stereotype!” Mina exclaims happily.

“...I’m not sure if that’s a good thing.” you say as you put your clothing into the laundry basket along with your teaching supplies. “Anyways Mina, I’m heading out. Make sure the house doesn’t burn down.”

“Hai!” Mina says as she begins to read one of the comics.

******

You head over to the Richardson bath house area. Just by looking around the lobby, you can tell that the early morning clothing rush has just died down, leaving only a few people casually chatting in the lobby before they go in or leave the bathhouse area. Relaxing imagery of mainly water based exotic locales hang on the roof as some sort of strong musk can smelled through the air, snapping even the groggiest of people wide awake.

But one of the things that you notice immediately is Amanda Richardson herself, wearing a smile while dealing with some customers at the check in desk.

“...Well this certainly saves me the work.” you reply as you head over to her with the laundry basket in hand.

Amanda greets you with a bright and sunny smile, somewhat catching you off guard considering how you know she’s a viper underneath that mask. “Hello Miss! Are you here to drop off some laundry today?”

“Laundry and a bath actually. Nothing else to do so I might as well blow time here. Also I’d like for you to clean the clothing I’ve got on right now and return it to me dry and ready by 12:10 PM at least. That possible?” you ask.
>>
>>22629099

[3/3]

“It is a bit extra for speed drying clothing like that.” Amanda warns. “Do you need any soap or towels?”

“I’d be impaled if I don’t show up to my job in proper clothing, so that’s fine.” you tell her. “No soap and... Yea I’ll take a towel since I’m getting mine washed.”

“Very well then! That comes to 5 silver and 5 copper!” Amanda says.

You fish out the needed coins and hand them to her.

“Thank you! Please pass your current dress over to one of the attendants in the change room and we’ll take care of the rest!” Amanda says as she takes your laundry.

“Thank you.” you say as you head over to the changing room, taking a towel from the nearby rank then remove your clothes.

You encountered Amanda a lot earlier than you expected. It should come as no surprise that her parents have her working here as well. You wonder how you’re going to contact her if you do want to talk to her.
>>
>>22629114
Not right now, we aren't staying overly long and we usually meet her in the evening anyways and we should be consistent and she's busy working so we can't have a big talk. Besides we'd have to switch to Sarah, talk to her, leave her presence, and come back as Brooklyn to get our clothes back.
>>
>>22629170
I concur.
>>
>>22629114
Indeed, not just yet.

But Do look around if any of the others are in there. And if nobody is there, Look for a quick snack.
>>
>>22628026
>Demonic Resilience:
>In addition to recovering from a wound 20 times faster than normal, mundane small arms bullets cannot pierce Mina’s skin.
Nothing about broken bones magically aligning themselves, just healing faster. Going to keep re-breaking them until they set correctly? Seems like the sort of stubborn thing Mina would do. Wonder what she has against doctors.

>>22629114
If she's working at the check-in desk we can't come out as Sarah and talk to her because she'll know Sarah hasn't gone in. And we can't leave and come back as Sarah because that would mean walking around town naked. And we can't do it after our clothes are ready because we won't have time. So no messages.
>>
You decide against it for now. She’s busy doing her own job right now. She’ll be free in the evening for you to plot around and deal with her. Add in the fact that you have a job coming up means that you probably don’t have that much time in the first place. You decide that it’s probably just best to kick back and relax in the meantime.

You walk out into the bath house area, rising yourself off quickly before heading into the large bath in the middle itself.

You sigh in bliss as you sink into the hot water. You can feel the tension in your muscles just seem to melt away into the hot water. You feel so...

*GROWL*

...Hungry. You’re not starving like you were when you first transformed, but still pretty hungry. ...Maybe you could get a snack while you’re here?

You look over to see what you can find in the bath house. There are some young kids and old people you can see wandering around a bit. You can also see another group of mercs from the Soaring Hawks relaxing in the hot tub as well. Unfortunately, there don’t appear to be any noble girls like the last time. Selection is a bit lacking right now as you probably missed most of the early morning rush.

Well, feed off the ambient emotion, people are having a nice time so we'll get a bit, but we won't get that much.

We'll do a puppet thing for kids after work to fill up.

We could do that now, we have some time, and everyone loves stories.

Storytime/playing with the children.

Children always are a heap of emotions anyway.

After many hours of walking through the desert sandstorm, you come across the bandit base. An old Prison complex that has been since been fortified and reinforced with such things such as additional razor wire hanging on the side. About 10 others can be seen just walking around inside of the camp, probably more in the buildings. You look down to the side, and while your face remains solemn, you cannot help feel a small pang of regret at the dead bodies of innocents laid about in front of the camp... and anger.

“...Oi! Oi are ye lost or somethin?” one of the bandit guards says coming up to you, wearing a hockey mask and holding a spiked club. “This ‘ere is Slab territory! Who d’ye think you r bein ‘ere!?”

Who do you think you are? You’re Brooklyn Browing. Master of the Hokuto Shinken style of martial arts. You were sent here in order to find innocent people these bandits have taken for hostage from the local village nearby. They cannot pay for the ransom, meaning that these people are as good as dead unless you do something about it. But that’s not all. Mina, a small girl that has been following you recently, was also taken by the bandits. You won’t let that stand.

But your mind wonders of what you should do with the bandit in front of you...

“Just a simple travelling travelling to his destination. ...By the looks of things, it seems that I have found my way to my destination.” you say.

“...Oh yea!? Well then we’ll see if you belong ‘ere when I git da boys to clobber ya!” The Bandit threatens.

“Oh, you won’t be getting them.” You say as crack your knuckles. “As you’re already dead.”

“Wa!?” The bandit looks confused by your statement.

Without warning, you reach out and plunge each of your thumbs into the bandits head. “I have just hit the Toi pressure points in your head. Once I remove my thumbs, your head will explode seven seconds later.”

“Wa!? What!?” The bandit says, you can feel his pulse rapidly increasing as he panics.

“Use that time to reflect upon your past, hopefully you’ll learn to regret the path you have chosen.” you say as you remove the thumbs from his head, then begin to walk into the prison facility itself.

“No! NO PLEASE! DON’T LEAVE ME! HELP! ANYONE HHEEEADBBAAGG...” the bandits speech becomes grabled before finally his head and torso simply split down the middle in a gory show of force.

“WOAH! WHAT THE... GREIG’S DEAD! EVERYONE TO THE GATE!” A Bandit from up above from the watchtower calls out.

As if on cue, all of the people in the courtyard begin to charge directly at you. Many of them dressed in typical bandit apparel such as street signs or motorcycle helmets. All of them carrying some form of melee weapon in one form or another. There are roughly about 10 in total.

You eyes gaze around the camp, trying to see if you can find any sign of the civilians, but try as you might you are not able to see any trace of them. They must be in one of the prison cells inside one of the five buildings around here, but first you need to... take care of the trash.
>>
>>22630610
Stoically walk past all of the evildoers as we jab the pressure points with lightning speed. Keep on walking as they explode behind us. Keep one alive, who looks important, and ask where the prisoners are. Once he answers explode him too.

Then go rescue everyone.

>>
[1/2]

You calmly walk towards the bandits, unphased by their war cries. As they approach, you lash out with a speed only a rattlesnake could every dream to match. Striking each of their nerve points in a specific way. It isn’t long before you tag each and everyone of them.

All of the bandits just suddenly stop, looking confused as they stop to look where they hit you.

“...What!? Is that it!? Just a little love tap is the best ye could manage!?” one of the bandits behind you laugh.

“...O-oi! Marcus! You face!” one of the other bandits yells out.

What follows next is a symphony of screams of terror from panicked bandits before their bodies finally explode into a gory red cloud. But you don’t look back. Rather your eyes are fixated on one of the bandits you left alive on purpose, now on his back trying to crawl away from you.

“N-no! No! Stay away from me you demon!” the bandit pleads with you. “S-spare me! I-I’ll do anything!”

“Where are the villagers you took from Fort Hope?” you ask coldly.

“R-right over t-there! Jailhouse number 4!” The bandit says as he points to a jailhouse. “I-I d-did good right!? Y-you’ll let me live right!?”

You don’t reply as you turn around to head over to the jailhouse, the side of your shoe tapping the bandits ankle as you walk towards the jailhouse.

“...I-I’m alive... I’M AL-” is all the bandit manages to say before his brain literally explodes inside of his own skull.
>>
>>22631309

[2/2]

You open the doors of the jailhouse, only to be greeted with the view of a rather round man sitting behind a desk while smoking a cigar. Bodyguards in metal armour sneer and attempt to intimidate you as you enter the building. You can see the townsfolk in the cells around you, many of them weeping at their misfortune of being here while others plead desperately for you to leave.

“Well... It isn’t that often someone disposes of my men like that...” the man says in a thick mexican accent. His fingers are lined with gold jewelery and dressed in a white old world tuxedo that is open at the middle, exposing his hairy chest and large body. His hair appears to be greased back, to the point where you’re surprised the cigar doesn’t light his hair on fire.

You’ve heard of this man. He isn’t like most of the other scum you’ve met before. He claims he’s ‘trying to rebuild society’, but in the end he is just making a profit out of human misery. But not only that, he is actually *very* strong despite his appearance. Many claimed that he knows the legendary arts of the sumo, and it appears that these tales are true after all. The Terrifying ‘Cablone’.

“Tell you what weddo. I need a new right hand man, and it appears that you just have the right skillset for it. So how about ye do the smart thing so we can both walk out of this being a little richer, eh?” Cablone says, raising his eyebrow and giving a rather large and sick grin.

Doubling checking the area around you, you notice that you don’t see Mina in any of the cells around you. They probably knew you were coming and moved her somewhere else...
>>
>>22631315
Pretend to agree with his deal, but ask that the lets the prisoners go and brings Mina to us. Once he's done that doublecross him and have an epic fight that ends with us barely winning, only besting him due to us knowing we had to win for Mina's sake and for the safety of all of the innocents who lived in the area.
>>
>>22631315

ask him just what he has planned.
let him reveal his grand scheme/evil plot,
then, assuming it IS evil, reject his offer and have an honorable fight with him, he will barely escape with his life, but not without a scar/missing hand.

(this allows us to expand upon the story at a later date by having an established BBEG)
>>

how can we puppet show with no puppets....

>>
[1/2]

“What’s your plan for his? Profiting from human misery and suffering?” you ask him.

“Tah! You have an awefully small minded view of the world weddo!” The fat man says as he points at you with a jewel encrusted finger. “I don’t inflict human suffering at all ‘ese! I am just showing these people their proper place while also getting paid for it as well. See... I’m trying to advance the world, but people like these are content to remain in their little huts and contribute nothing to society...”

“So that gives you the right to capture and enslave them?” you ask.

“As long as they’re on my property, yes.” Cablone smiles as he stands up, throwing his arms into the air. “And soon, ALL of these lands will belong to me! THIS land belongs to me! If anything, I should hang you for killing my own men in cold blood! But... If there is one thing I have learned, is that every man has his price...”

Cablone then snaps his fingers. As if on cue, a bandit carrying Mina comes out around the the corner of the room, being dragged by a bandit.

“Brooklyn!” Mina cries out as her small form trashes against the bandits grip.

“Stay still you little rat!” the bandit says, taking out a sharp knife and holding it to her throat.
>>
>>22631973

[2/2]

“So... How about a fair deal. All you need to do is just have a match with me. Winner can take the girl and all the people here. I must say as a fighter myself, I am quite interested in how you fight. But we have to lay out some ground rules first... Such as no attacking me in any sort of way.” Cablone says.

“That isn’t a fight! That’s an execution!” one of the townsfolk calls out.

“No, it’s a fair business deal, akin to the ones I usually make. Hell, you should consider lucky! It is not often I make such a generous deal such as an entire shipment!” Cablone laughs.

...Well this is hardly fair. It appears Cablone knows some of your fighting techniques, as that bandit is too far away for you to get to on time. He’d have more than enough time to use that knife against Mina, and while you’re good at medicine, all the medicine in the world cannot save a person stabbed in the heart. Do you accept as is, or see if you try something else?
>>
>>22631982
Accept, stoically take the beating, during the fight look for an opportunity to throw Cablone right at the bandit holding Mina to knock him away and rescue her from him.
>>
>>22631982
Sure, we'll just have to step aside at the right time, so he'll break his neck himself. Definitely within our abilities.

“I accept your terms.” you reply.

“Brooklyn no! Don’t!” Mina begs as she remains behind where the bandit is.

The rest of the townsfolk also break out in regretful mourning, as if you were already dead.

“Perfect! Then let us no keep the ring waiting ‘ese!” Cablone says as he heads out towards the ring.

******

The fighting ring is all set up. A ring no more than five meters in diameter across. A simple dirt ring with rope held down by metal bolts in the ground. All of the townsfolk were brought out to see the show in addition to Mina. All of their horrified faces being surrounded by the bandits, all of whom have large grins on their faces. A few bandits surround the ring, but stand a few feet away from the edge.

“Rules are simple weddo.” Calbone says as he takes a puff on his cigar and cracks his knuckles. “The fight lasts until one person is knocked unconscious or knocked out of the ring.”

“Fair enough.” you reply.

“Good! Then let’s not waste any time!” Calbone says before suddenly thrusting his palm at you.

You were actually caught off guard by this. For a man his size, he can *certainly* move. The palm collides with your chest head on, the hand hitting with the force of a sledgehammer and swiftness light lightning. You cough as you can feel your organs rattle around inside of your body for a second. But you quickly snap yourself back to reality, just in time to stop yourself from sliding out of the ring completely.

“Hhhooo! I’m impressed Cablone! Most people who take that attack usually have their ribcage shattered, but I’m impressed you managed to come out of it unscathed!” Cablone says. It sounds as if you’ve definitely caught his attention.
>>
>>22632917

[2/3]

You may be fine on the outside, but you can certainly feel that hit ringing through your body right now. Sumo’s can use their palm thrust with incredible force, but his was the strongest one that you’ve ever felt.

As you walk back into the ring, Cablone quickly gets back into a wide legged stance, bringing his palm back behind him before he thrusts it out again... and again... In fact, there are a vertical storm of blows raining down upon you.

You quickly begin to weave and dodge between the blows as best as you can. For as tough as you are, if you’d let all those blows hit you then you’d be pounded into a paste. It is quite challenging as you weave between his blows, unable to touch him at all lest he get spooked and count it as an ‘attack’.

You dodge the flurry of blows from his right arm, followed by a sneaky sweep, before he begins with the left arm. You painfully find out that he in fact left handed. For as good as you are, a few of the blows do manage to hit you, although not dead on like the first blow was.

Cablone’s attitude begins to slowly shift from cocky and confident into sour and annoying. You’re mocking him by dodging most of his blows, and he knows it. You play his temper against him, continue to dodge his palm thrusts, sweeps, and tackles just long enough for the critical moment.

“Stop moving around you little... WRAGH!” Cablone says as he tries to tackle you one more time, this time throwing all of his power behind it.

You have been awaiting this moment. All this time you have been moving towards the edge of the ring before this, and in his rage he appears to have forgotten about it. You sidestep out of the way, quickly letting Cablone tumble towards the bandit that is currently holding Mina.
>>
>>22632925

[3/3]

People begin to drive out of the way as they see Cablone coming, but unfortunately due to Mina’s distractions, the bandit holding Mina doesn’t see him coming before it is too late. He freezes like a deer caught in the headlights, dropping Mina, who scampers off to the side with all due haste.

Cablone impacts the bandit, tumbling over him as they both roll round before coming to a crashing stop.

“He... He won!” one of the townsfolk says. “Brooklyn won!”

The townsfolk begin cheering as you leave the ring like the champion that you are. The bandit’s faces change to one of horror, quickly running for their lives away from you. When you come to a stop, you come face to face with Cablone once more.

“H-hey now ‘ese! All’s fair right!? I’ll keep my end of the deal! All these people are free to go!” Cablone stammers in a nervous voice.

(Wat do?)

“Your strength has brought nothing but suffering upon this world. You do not deserve it.” you say as you get into a stance. Concentrating power into your own body and into your arms. One can almost see the aura coming up around your body.

“N-no! Wait!” Cablone begs as he sees this happen.

“ATATATATATATATATATATATATATATA!” You scream as your fingers fly out, hitting various pressure points all over his body. Cablone’s body is rocked by the sheer volume of blows raining down upon him, before you finally give one punch to send him toppling over.

DAN

KOTSU

KIN

(Cutting Bone and Tendon)

Cablone fails about on the ground for a few seconds, screaming incomprehensible sounds of terror.

“Relax. You will live. I did not it make it lethal.” you say.

“AH! A-... Uh?” Cablone seems confused by this, before he tries to stand back up. “W-wa!? M-my arms!? What did you do to my arms!?”

“I hit the pressure points that control your nervous system’s connection to your arms. You’ll never move them ever again. Now use this to reflect upon your past actions and sins.” you tell him.

Cablone looks upon you with a mix of horror and regret, before he finally runs away screaming from the camp.

“B-Brooklyn! What have you done! The man still lives!” one of the villagers says.

“...No... There has been enough death that has taken place here on these grounds.” you solemnly say as you look over not only to the bodies of dead bandits from earlier, but also the makeshift graves of all the dozens upon dozens of people who were put to rest here.
>>
>>22633888

[2/2]

The townsfolk look upon the scene, and dare not speak up to correct you about Cablone once more.

“Brooklyn... I was so worried...” Mina says hugging onto your leg, sobbing as she does so.

You only look down and give her a pat on the head, the gesture of reassurance being all that is needed.

******

“...And after that, Brooklyn and Mina set off once more on the quest to find Mina’s parents and find Brooklyn’s eternal rival.” you finish off to the kids.

“That. Was. AWESOME!” one of the kids say as you finish your story.

The rest of the kids begin to talk about this as well, clamoring about well they like your story.

You begin to feel the emotions flow into you, feeling the sweet taste of happiness on your tongue as you collect their ambient emotions. Sure it isn’t a lot, considering you only have six kids, but you are feeling a bit fuller than normal.

You look down, noticing that one of the kids is actually probably around 15 years old. He has his face turning away from you with a deep blush on his face.

You look down at yourself, noticing the very form fitting wet towel wrapped around your body. A slice taste of something spicy can be felt. He was probably paying attention to more things than just your story...

“Thanks for taking them off our hands for a little bit!” the old folk couple says as they walk past you. “We had hardly keep up with the youngsters in our old age.”

“Oh don’t worry! I’m always happy to do such things!” you reply.

(You’ve got about a half hour left before your dress is finished drying)

Just lie back in the bath for a while. Perhaps do some meditation. These last few days have been pretty hectic and we should take the time to relax.
>>
>>22633901
Ah, children. Let's not do anything with the 15 year old, it'd be rude to tease him more than we already do just by existing.

Just relax, enjoy the water, enjoy not having a Demon Knight hanging over our head.

Also think out lesson plans for today.

The main thing you got out of that battle is mainly an aether pool increase. Getting into taxing battles and blowing nearly all of your aether helps expand your pool a bit. The pro side is that, hey more magic juice. Bad news is that as you go up it'll take longer to refill your power.
>>
[1/2]

You go against your inner demons for now, not teasing the kid and just making you way over to the hot tub in order to continue relax in relative peace. You let the water seep into your body, calming yourself after telling that riveting tale. You begin to mentally think of a lesson plan for Brothen, as with Brock poor Brothen shouldn’t been scared shitless several times over.

While no one else interesting of note comes in, you do notice the shy kid from earlier occasionally sneaking peeks at you as you relax, but you pay it no heed.

With nothing else new and being near your job time, you rise up out of the tub and head off towards your job. You’ll have to make a note to later come back for the rest of your clothing.

******

As you walk through the castle, you notice almost nothing out of the ordinary. ...Well OK asides the nobles dressing a bit more flasher than normal since they still think Blizzarios is here. While there are more guards posted around, you have no problem getting through due to your job.

You knock on Brothen’s door then slowly begin to open it. “Brothen... Time fo-”

You’re nearly tackled by Brothen as he enters the room, his arms wrapping around your body as if for dear life.

“Woah woah Brothen! What’s wrong?” you ask, looking down while patting him on the head.

“That man yesterday was scary! It felt like as if gaze was the the Basilisk itself!” Brothen cries out.
>>
>>22634945

[2/2]

“Gorgon actually, and don’t mind Brock. He’s a decent man just... very determined...” you reply. You know Brock as one of your scholar friends. It is a very steady sort of man, he’s also pretty intimidating.

“Still I like you better! And Blizzarios too!” Brothen says. “Oh! Do you know where Blizzarios went Ms. Brooklyn?”

“...Ms. Brooklyn?” you ask.

“...Well you told me the other day to call you Miss.” Brothen replies.

...Well damn you did. Secondly of all it isn’t uncommon for Brothen to ask you questions you couldn’t possibly know the answer for. ...OK in this case you had a very active hand for Blizzarios’s fate, but you wonder how you should answer Brothen.
>>
>>22634955
Hug him back. He's a good kid.

"You can call me Ms. or Mr. Brooklyn, I'm still me, I just didn't want to bring it up for our guest. He probably had enough on his plate without worrying about me and my unique circumstances.

As for where he went, I don't have a single clue Brothen. I'd guess that he has pressing Knight business somewhere, duty first and all that.

Now let's review what you covered yesterday and continue with your lessons."
>>
>>22634955
"Well I am a Miss now; it just still feels a bit weird being called it. Blizzarios probably has work to do. He didn't come all this way just to play with kids." Except he did.
>>
You give a small smile as you reach down, giving Brothen a small hug.

“Miss or Mister. You can call me either one as I’m still me. Even though... I am technically a Miss for the moment yea. But I mainly didn’t want to bring it up around Blizzarios. An important demon like him has enough on his plate without worrying about me and my unique circumstances.” you tell him. “As for where he went, I had no idea at all. He probably had some pressing business as a Knight. No offense, but I doubt he came here to see children.”

It takes nearly every bit of force in your body to not snicker upon saying that last line.

“Yea... I guess that is true after all. Still he was really nice though!” Brothen says as she let’s go of the hug.

“That he was.” you lie as you stand back up. “Now let’s go over what you did yesterday.”

“Uh... Brock was going over this book by this guy named Sartre.” Brothen replies.

...Yea that’s Brock for you. Attempting to teach grade schoolers advanced level morality and ethics.

“Brothen, your first lesson is to forget everything Brock told you about that book.” you instruct.

“OK!” Brothen happily replies. That’s the great thing about kids. They’re so easy to teach... Unlike Teenagers. The thought of being broken to Blizzarios only barely outweighs the mental torture of teaching a teenager again.

******

“Have a good Brothen! And remember to read up on the first chapter of that geography book!” you tell him.

“OK!” Brothen says as he goes back to colouring.

And with that, you’re done your job for the day. You’re still within the Langy castle. You could just leave and get paid. Perhaps return those books you owe back or visit Mina. Or maybe see if you can find Leona, Erica, or Ada somewhere in this castle?
>>
>>22635349
We can visit Amanda later today in the baths and have her set up more lessons with her and the other girls. Ada is probably busy as all fuck doing her thing and consolidating control, we can bother her about the private Langy library later.

For now we should return our library books, see Mina, make sure she's doing alright, give her some Aether as we have plenty and she hasn't had a chance to recharge, might make her recovery faster.
>>
>>22635349
Brooklyn is very good with children, isn't he? Knows how to teach them properly, how to entertain them.
Maybe that should be one of his skills?
>>
>>22635475

You know, that's probably a good idea.

I was also going to give him a performance skill as well, considering his storytelling bit.
>>
>>22635349
Get paid, then go see Mina and return a bit of Aether. Might as well return library books.
After that we can see to set up lessons for the girls.
Did we have plans for the twins scheduled? like another date, or something.
>>
>>22635501
They're out of town for a while so we can't really plan for them.
>>
>>22635501

now would be the ideal time to try our hand at healing magic. we could use Mina as our 'willing assistant', then once adequately healed, a night on the town to fill the old aether banks...
>>
[1/2]
You decide that after your job, it’s just best to head home. Ada’s probably up to her neck in espionage action while turning into Sarah at this location safely is far too risk. Plus you want to check up on Mina anywho.

(NEW SKILL! PERFORMANCE (GREAT!) This skill is, oddly enough, favored for Okarians, meaning that you learn it at a far more rapid pace compared to other skills normal (Such as the same speed Belkarians can learn to use new weapons). Performance covers such things as giving public speeches, storytelling, and remaining in character. Given how often Brooklyn has been using this, he’d probably have it at this ranking by now)

******

You gently open the door to your house, only to see that Mina is fast asleep. You smile to yourself as you carefully take the slatebooks off the side of the bed and put them next to your counter, before putting another log on the fire so it’ll burn longer. You would share your aether with her, but right now she probably needs all the rest she can get. So instead of bothering her, you just take some of your old library books out in your bag and head out.

******

You enter the library, taking off your book bag and letting it land with a heavy thud right in front of Roger’s desk while he’s still stamping cards.

“You know a lady shouldn’t carry something that heavy.” Roger says as he stamps a card and slides it into a book envelope.

“I hate you.” you casually reply.

“Renewal or drop-off?” Roger asks as he reaches for your book back.

“Drop off. Don’t need ‘em anymore.” you reply.
>>
>>22635754

[2/2]

“Oh yea Brooklyn. I didn’t bring it up, since last time I assumed you were getting over the shock of getting your sex changed or whatnot, but are you feeling any better this week?” Roger asks.

“I... Still find it pretty hard to believe in of myself. But yes most of the shock is now gone.” you reply.

“Well why don’t you come over to the meet up tonight then? The other guys have been worried a bit about you ever since I told them.” Roger says.

“You *told* them!?” a small amount of disbelief in your voice.

“I’m sorry I’m sorry! It’s just that I thought it was probably something important to know about. We’re all worried about you is all, and they told me to ask you if you wanted to do the usual friday night thing. You know, hang out and discuss some of the latest books, roll a few die.” Roger says as he stamps your book.

That is a point. Last week you were so busy you forgot all about your usual Friday night deal with the rest of your friends: Brock, Roger, Tristen, and Leo. It usually starts at 8:30 and goes on till a little past midnight, usually in a resturant. Should you take them up on this offer?
>>
>>22635764
We're a complete nerd, and Mina is a jock, how did this happen?

Who's the DM? Because we would make a spectacular DM with our Performance skill. If we're not DMing we can try our hand at it once whoever is doing it comes to a good break point. Also roleplaying is a good source for emotion snacks and it lets us catch up with our old life a bit.

Yeah, we should go, it sounds like fun. Tell him we'll be there and find what restaurant it's happening at.

This library isn't that useful to us anymore now that we'll have access to the private Langy one but we may as well take a few out on similar topics as the last one, see if they have any new info.
>>
>>22635764
hmm, having something of old Roger's life still remaining would be nice, but. I highly doubt we can still be 'one of the guys'. At least not in their eyes...
Maybe it's for the best to distance ourselves from the past?
>>
>>22635849
I already voted. But we just have to act like we usually did and smack them if they get weird.

Also these guys are scholars, knowledge is power, and keeping in contact with them could be useful. Especially once we get the private library opened up we can have them read stuff for us and give us any pertinent info instead of having to trawl through it ourself.
>>
>>22635863
you know, I agree with you. I posted that before I read your post. So I'm changing my vote to your idea.
They are nerds, so they will be easier to control.
>>
>>22635883
That they will. Hell, we could even eventually bring other Succubi/women in on it, they might like that, and we get other Succubi into RPGs.

Also, we get a chance to rib Brock about giving Sartre to a 12 year old boy.

Rolled 9

>>22635764
this sound like a good idea, it'll be fun, we can probably get a lot of food and we'll socialize. we just need to leave a note to tell brodin and mina where we are just in case.

[1/2]
“As per usual.” Roger says. “Though I’m tempted to find a new place that can serve pork worth a damn.”

“Yea, you and me both.” you reply to Roger. “Yea I’ll swing by later in that case. In the meantime I’m going get a bit of light reading for myself.”

You head into the library and begin to scan for books related to your interest. You’d like to get some more books on Demonology or Occult theory, but it appears all the books left are either filled with stuff you already know or just so laughably wrong that you just facepalm. Making the mistake of claiming an Asura was a Pride Demon species? Bull. Shit.

Instead you think it is best to prepare yourself for access to the Langy library, as you will have access to that soon enough. You get a book detailing the history of the Greed Demons, mainly their earlier and “enlightenment” years. These guys are the spellcaster arm of the Pride Demon army, so you should be able to collect some famous names from this at least.

******

You head back to your house to drop off your book. It won’t be much longer until your laundry is done as well. When you enter, you can see Mina and Brodin’s reading one of your books.

“...Well I give this Kenshiro guy points for being innovative in his kills.” Brodin says while reading the book.

“Oh! Welcome back Brooklyn! I’ve been reading this Fist of the North Star thing all day! It’s awesome as hell! A lone man searching for the woman he loves, while upholding justice in a lawless wasteland and armed with the deadliest Martial Art of all time?!?” Mina gushes.
>>
>>22636159

[2/2]

“I’d knew you’d like it.” you chuckle to yourself. You then head over to sink to fill the kettle for another cup of tea. “Feeling any better?”

“Lots! Although I’m still quite a ways away from fully recovering.” Mina says.

“At least you’re feeling good. And Brodin, what have you been doing lately? You’ve been out nearly all night and don’t come home drunk? That’s certainly a change.” you tell him.

“Yea. After meeting Sebastein last night, I went out and had a little chat with him. ...Granted I had to hunt him down to do so. I had to... recruit a few bandit spirits to do the job for me.” Brodin says.

“That could possibly be interesting about that grumpy old coot!?” Mina asks, pouting as she remembers him.

“Well for starters he doesn’t have a time of death slated on him.” Brodin replies.

“Wait, what?” you stop just as you’re about to put the kettle on over the fireplace.

“Yea, like none at all. Not often you see that sort of thing.” Brodin says.

“So what does that mean?” Mina asks.

“It means he’s probably one of the luckiest son of bitches out there. A direct attack from an awakened being would probably kill him, but it seems that Fate conspires for him to perform one deed. And until then, freak occurrences like him being in the only safe spot in a collapsing skyscraper are common for him.” Brodin says.

“Does he know about this?” you ask as you put the kettle on.

“Never brought it up. That’s my own theory anyways, I could probably be completely wrong.” Brodin says. “Hell, he even asked me to kill him.”

“...What? Why?” Mina asks.

“Apparently his wife and son were killed ages ago right in front of his eyes when Demon Lord Articus was trying to hunt them down. Not only that, but most of his other squad when he even tried to lay low.” Brodin says. “The man has issues, in more ways than one.”
>>
>>22636163

Any other questions you’d like to ask Brodin about his conversation with Sebastien? They were talking for a few hours so about anything is fair game. In the meantime, I think it is time for mean to turn in for the night. We’ll continue this tomorrow.
>>
>>22636170
Exactly how uncommon are such individuals who lack a time of death?
>>
>>22636163
Well, I think that he really, really, really wants Articus dead, and we'd be happy to help when that time rolls around. Fuck Articus, we should set him on fire some time.

We should totally have this guy play Russian Roulette for money, this was a joke, but he does seem pretty much impossible to kill without using Aether.

>>22636170
Has he ever seen someone without a time of death before? What is Reaper policy with them? What happens when they fulfill the deed set out for them?

What is Sebastian's skill set, given the lack of death date does that mean he can't die of old age, how old to Vanishing Rangers usually naturally live, where does he get his equipment, what can he do with his Psychic stuff, how strong is he, is there any way to get in contact with him, where can he usually be found, what is his Pride Demon body count, is he trustworthy, does he work for or with anyone, does he have any big goals outside of taking down Articus, what are his current goals and methods towards that end, he said that he was probably the last of his kind, what happened to the rest of his squad that survived Articus, where did the "Vanishing Rangers" come from, was their creation due to Succubi or something else?

Does Sebastian seem like the kind of person who could use a hug, what is his favorite type of beer or alcohol, what is a basic summary of the dude's issues?
>>
>>22636545
Oh, and how did Brodin know he was a Vanishing Ranger? Is there anything else important like this that he hasn't mentioned?

Also, we need to spend a bit of time researching the Catpeople more so we can acquire us a catgirl, though we'll have to go somewhere not here as they live in Jungle or Rainforesty environments, which is the exact opposite of where we live.

>>22636820

>>
>>22636851
Well yea, iwas just saying what Brodin will try to brush it off as at first out of respect for the guys privacy. Pure guess work, but hey, he deserves a little privacy and that's what I would do
>>
>>22636900
We work with kids, we have probably perfected a powerful skill to get people to talk. Silence, a single raised eyebrow, and an incredulous expression. Maybe with a glare or slight stern frown.

It's amazing how many people crack under that and just keep on talking to fill the silence and reveal little white lies.

It might work on him.
>>
>>22636943

also, do not forget the most powerful and dangerous social ability we now possess. The dreaded Puppy-dog Eyes
>>
I still feel ever so bad about Blizzarios.
>>
>>22637927
don't, he was a pedophile
>>
>>22637927
Don't he was a pedophile, a bit of a creep, and would have happily broken us, Mina, and Ada while thinking he was doing us a favor.

Though I will admit the rose was a nice touch, but he just can't compare to our delicious brown martial artist snuggle buddy.

>>22637805
Ada is probably better at the puppy dog eyes than we are, she's literally got the skill "Little Sister Acting" at "Ooonnniiiii-ccchhaannn~". We can't compete with that.

Mina is better at normal seduction than we are.

But the social maneuver we have that they don't is the "this is bullshit" stare combined with our experience as a teacher which meant we've dealt with that sort of thing before.
>>
>>22638003

no, we all decided that having the twins was better than having Blizzarios. It's just the situation he would be in could be highly amusing.
from a tactical sense, we could make him an aide, then order him to stay in little girl forms, that way he would have gotten to be the little girl, and we wouldn't have to worry about him betraying us.

Would have been amusing. Anyone know what skill level Blizzaros was with ice? Cause sooner or later we will have to bite the bullet and start training to increase our darkness and light abilities.

I'd personally guess a level above Great, if not two steps above it, either Awesome or Master. He did stuff with Ice way beyond what we can do with Light or Dark. He was more powerful than us and focused on two things, Social Magic, and Ice, he was pretty damn good with it. We won because we had 5 people attacking him.

I think we should train other elements first. Given the way skills progress we could probably get all four to basic in the time it would take to get Light & Darkness from good to great, with time left over to learn healing. And each new element we learn comes with a free awesome passive ability like seeing in dark and fog-vision. We know from Ada that water's passive is immunity to cold which we'd be crazy not to go for considering the current environment and the fact that the first boss is Articus, and who knows what goodies the others have. Plus having everything at a basic level gives us flexibility if we ever need to set something on fire or whatever.
>>
>>22639856
I'm going to assume HQ means hobo quest.
but yes let's work on invisible dildos made from light, after that we'll only need to make very visible spiky dildos OF DOOM with our darkness and all will be good
>>
>>22639926
>free awesome passive ability like seeing in dark and fog-vision

Too much generalisation may lead to issues later leading it hard to specialise.

If generalising were so easy, everyone would do it just for the benefits.
>>
>>22640104
I'm not suggesting we try and get amazing at every field. Just train them one rank to basic before we carry on improving our specialisation which is light and darkness.
>>

We should work on that. Also perfect that aura hide.

If you want, we can work on turning our friday friends into little girls. Or just Roger.
>>
>>22640104
>>22640191
I also think we should definitely try to unlock as many elements as we can. More options can only be a good thing and I think we should take full advantage of our Okarian affinity for magic.

Perhaps the best option is to talk to Oksana about any limits preventing us from achieving general competence and specialist excellence at the same time.

“Exactly how rare are people without a time and date of death?” you ask.

“Certainly greater than one in a million, but less than one in a billion.” Brodin says. “I don’t know the exact numbers, but somewhere within that ballpark.”

“What’s the policy on someone without a time of death?” Mina asks.

“Leave them be and hope whatever they’re destined for is easy to clean up. If I did kill him, I’d get in a lot of trouble. Same goes for any other Reaper.” Brodin replies.

“What happens when they fulfill the deed set out of them?” you ask.

“Then their time of death becomes clarified again. As for how much longer they’d have to live? Your guess will be as good as mine.” Brodin replies.

“...Actually come to think of it, you called him out on being a Vanishing Trooper. How did you know such a thing?” Mina asks.

“I’ve dealt with a few of them before. I usually double check and make sure anyone who is enlightened has their soul pass on. Otherwise the ghost they could possibly leave behind would be far stronger than normal.” Brodin replies. “I was more shocked about the program actually existing myself.”

“Do you know what his skill set is?” you ask pouring up the cups of tea.

“While old age is catching up to him, he’s still very good at what he does. The man is a trained survivalist. Has been through the worst environments one go through and has thrived in them all. Hell, in the base I saw him in he had his own water purifiers, computer, and a small ammunition factory. Makes a damn good handiman if I say so myself. I’m not sure with his psionic skillset, but given that his will is fairly strong and his age, I doubt he’s lacking.” Brodin replies.

“How old do Vanishing Troopers usually live?” Mina ask.
>>
>>22643320

[2/3]

“Longer than most other mortals of their type, same with anyone else who has been enlightened.” Brodin replies. “I don’t know the exact answer, but I know that his age is certainly pushing it. I’m quite frankly amazed he’s doing all of this, but doesn’t seem to be slowed down by the issues that come with old age myself.”

“Do you know what he can do with his psychic abilities?” you ask passing Brodin a teacup.

“Typical telekinetic and psychokinetic abilities. If he’s like the others I’ve heard about, he uses his TK powers to make his bullets hit a hell of a lot harder. He probably has a whole new sort of ‘mental warfare’ that is usually open to psychics.” Brodin replies. “Most of my information is second hand, so I don’t know much.”

“Bastard could read my surface thoughts at least...” you mutter.

“Any way to get in contact with him?” you ask.

“I know a location of one of his bases. I also think he comes here to Fort Hope from time to time.” Brodin says.

“Does he work for anyone?” Mina asks before blowing on her tea.

“No, at the moment he just works to collect various bounties to support himself. I think the Church of Celestia may be paying for some of his bounties, but he certainly doesn’t have any particular brand of loyalty towards him. He’s just using them as a source of money. ...Assuming if he is paid by the church. I could be completely wrong.” Brodin says sipping his tea.

“Does he have any other big goals besides taking down Articus?” you ask.

“Probably die taking down as many demons who were sent to kill him. He does have the beginnings of a plan, but he’s still working on some of the big holes in it, at least according to him. All I know is that he doesn’t have an army or anyone else. Blessed by fate or no, I don’t think being lucky is going to help him that much when facing Articus, especially by himself.” Brodin says.
>>
>>22643329

[3/3]

“What happened to the rest of his squad?” Mina asks.

“Hunted down and killed by most of the Pride Demons. To be honest I thought they all died decades ago. I mean that is when the rumors of the remaining Troopers joining Celestia or Russia vanished. But true to their namesake it seems like one of them Vanished once again.” Brodin replies.

“Where did the Vanishing Rangers come from? Who made them?” Mina asks.

“They were a group of psionically enhanced supersoldiers made during the closing days of Earth’s war with the Demons. They were supposed to be something a next generation supersoldier, but the program was shut down once the government fell. As far as I can tell, all of his equipment is from the Old World too. Very old and used, but kept in immaculate condition.” Brodin says.

“Is he trustworthy?” you ask.

“He’s a grumpy old man, but he does seem to be rather trustworthy yes. Hell, I think he’d willingly go with anyone who has a better plan than him for taking down Articus. Thing is he didn’t me of his plan, aside from the factor that it has a few major holes and that he’d be doing it alone.” Brodin says.

(Anything else?)

“Interesting man then...” you mutter while taking a sip of your tea.

“More like a cyincal old man.” Brodin replies.

“Well enough about him in either case.” you say as you finish your tea. “Mina, how’s your healing coming along?”

“Oh slow but steady!” Mina replies.

“Well I know that you’re in no condition to feed so... If you want some of my aether...” you blush while saying this.

“Oh pfft! Don’t worry about me! My healing rate is independent of my chi reserves. If anything, this makes the idea of going out on a quest to refill all the more exciting!” Mina chirps. “I think I’ll probably ask to sing at the Adamant door again. That ALWAYS brings in a lot of chi!”

“...Well if you insist.” you reply, feeling a small pang of rejection inside of you. “Anyways, I need to head off to pick up my remaining laundry. It’s probably long since ready by now.”

“I’ll keep an eye on Mina for you.” Brodin offers.

“Hey! I can take care of myself!” Mina replies.

“With the condition you’re in? Yea right. Besides I want to continue reading this as well.” Brodin says pointing to the Bookslate.

“Oh yea! Good idea!” Mina says grabbing the bookslate once again.

You cannot help but chuckle as you head out the door.

After a bit of fooling around at home with Brodin and Mina, you head off to meet your friends at the Red Fox Inn. You can see Roger outside waiting for you.

“Where are the others?” you ask.

“They’re inside saving a spot for us, come on.” Roger says, waving you in. “I told them not to ask stupid questions in order to not piss you off.”

You head on inside the Red Fox Inn, being guided over to a corner booth by Roger. Sure enough, you can see your group of friends sitting at a table. Leo and Tristen appear to be leaning over each other in order to get a view. Brock however doesn’t even turn his head as much.

“H-hey guys...” you sheepishly wave. You thought were over this ordeal, but coming to see your friends as a woman, while dressed *up* as a woman... Bit unnerving to people who knew you as a guy.

“...Holy shit... You actually are a woman.” Leo says. Leo has short black hair, brown eyes, and glasses. His clothes seem to be almost constantly dirty, mainly because of his work as a historian constantly has him checking dusty tombs or dirty ruins. At least that what he claims.

“Does it matter? Brooklyn is still himself, regardless of the outer shell he may be currently using.” Brock replies stoically. Brock is a scholar like you, but from the sheer size of him, you’d be mistake that he was a soldier of sorts. The size of his arms made you look like a girl *before* you actually came one. While he is a nice gun, you literally need to be mining in order to open up his actual personality. In terms of skills, he’s similar to you but with more of a focus on metaphysical knowledge.

“I’m more curious to what kind of trap actually did this. I mean hell, it’d probably be a good idea to see if we can reuse it to see what kind of money we could make off it. To hell with the Blood magic users.” Tristan says. Tristan is an... odd mix of merchant and scholar. He’s extremely good with numbers, game theory, and dealing with people. Though the people think took you a while to figure out considering that whenever he’s with you all, his brain seems to turn off.

You then slide into the booth, giving a small sigh as you go in. “Guys, Brock’s right about this. I’m still the same person that I always was. You don’t need to worry about being sensitive about me either. The shock of my condition has pretty much worn off at this point. I prefer to be treated as a guy, so just treat me the same as you always have.”

“Oh... Oh yea of course. Most certainly.” Tristan, Roger, and Leo agree. Brock just stoically nods to himself upon hearing this, his arms remaining crossed at his chest.

After the agreements die off, there is an eerie atmosphere of silence that overcomes the table.

You give a defeated sigh. “Alright, you can ask.”

“What size are your tits?” “Why are you wearing a dress?” “Did you play with yourself yet?” “Did the magic that transformed also change your sexual prefers? Trust me I don’t want to date you, but I’m curious.” are some of the questions you’re bombarded with.

“Oh my god...” Brock sighs in disbelief as he hears all these questions, just shaking his head.

“Maybe if you go some masterwork armour instead of the one your character uses...” Leo mutters.

“I stab the bandit with my sword.” Roger states.

Brock simply just sighs and facepalms once again.

“Yea, no rules against it.” Roger states.

“I hate you.” you reply to Roger, wondering how to handle this.

Make note of it, get him to claim that his sword is out unless otherwise said, that it isn't Schrodinger's sheath. Then fuck him over later when he tries to do something with his sword in hand, like catch himself from falling, not scare people, that sort of thing.

We should be THATGMS and insert genderswap into the campaign. Have a little fun since everyone else has been giving us shit.

>>22645380

thirding this motion
>>
>>22645664
Don't do the jackass thing, but have there be consequences. The civilians they're rescuing in the base are scared of the strange sword wielding man, he has a harder time holding on to the edges of a pit with his sword in hand, he might manage to hold on but he has to drop his sword, he can't use that hand for other things. Logical consequences for always having your sword out.
>>
>>22645380
pretty much this.
But have bandit and him roll initiative to see if bandit will react faster then him.
>>
>>22645664
Perhaps maybe we can warm them up to the idea and then next session we can take them down to our "special table" in the ruins for a "special session" and convert them.

>>22645781
Forcible conversion is for enemies and thralls. These guys are our friends, and have skill sets that would lend themselves well towards being an Okarian or Miyan. But that's pretty far off and I'm not sure it's a good idea to offer.
>>
>>22645781
That's silly.

We need to build an army, eventually.

Maybe we shouldn't be wasting our time on "thralls" and work on building a better, more competent team.
>>
>>22645758

We have plenty of options already. We don't NEED them...and that's just not fair to do without their permission. I'm pretty sure we are giving the twins a choice anyway.

Also: I'm opposed to turning foes into Aides. That really feels like misusing what is supposed to be a downside. Not that it's not a useful one, just that it's not one that the queen of the Aides would approve of.

>>
>>22645818
The problem is that nobody in their right mind would want to be an aides
>>
>>22645845
The way to make other Clans of Succubi would be to get enough Aether to the Queens for them to do another one. A Knight sized Aether injection gave them enough to make one, it probably will take a fair bit to get another but it's probably doable to do it without having to give them another Knight.

>>22645871

“But alright... I’ll allow it.” you say. You make a small note on your GM screen. “NOTE: ROGER HAS SWORD IN HAND AT ALL TIMES, -5 TO ALL CHECKS INVOLVING HAND USE.”

“Excellent. Anywho I stab him with my sword, full power swing.” Roger rolls his dice, it coming up as a 17. “Safe to assume a hit?”

“Yup.” you reply.

“Perfect. I then activated my sword’s ability for fire, bringing my damage up to 4d8... Add in my bracers on each hand which also allow an additional 2d4 damage each... Is there another bandit nearby so my Mighty Cleave can kick in?” Roger asks.

“...WHAT THE HELL!?” Tristen screams as he hears Rogers action.

“Yea pretty good huh? But I couldn’t get the sneak attack damage in so eh.” Roger replies.

“No what you’re doing is bullshit! What level is your character! Lemme see your damn sheet!” Leo says snatching the sheet from Roger’s table, the colour from his face vanishing as he looks at it. “I-I’ve never even seen half the shit on this sheet before!”

“No, I ignored that one. The book is broken as hell.” Roger replies.

“I shudder to think what’s in that book when I see this character in front of me.” Tristen replies handing the sheet back to Roger.

“...You don’t need to roll. He’ll be quite dead after all that.” you reply. “Anywho, the death screams of the Bandit send the camp into alert. A group of three guardmen and two owlbear riders come rushing to investigate the scene.”

“I position myself in between the party and the incoming bandits. I stare down the bandits. I then roll intimidate to make them stop in their tracks, holding up my three-handed broadsword showing them just what I’m capable of.” Brock says as he rolls his dice, coming up as a 16.

“Wow good start tonight. Yea the Bandits have definitely heard of Arnfreid Zombolt before, so they stop dead in their tracks instead of blindly rushing in to their doom.” you narrate.

After a few hours of gaming, you all decide to order something to eat as you wind down for the evening.

“I still say a -5 penalty is bullshit.” Roger claims, recalling the pit trap.

“Oh gee... It is hard to grab hold of a ledge while you’re constantly holding a sword isn’t it?” Tristen remarks loudly.

“Yes, we get the point.” Brock states.

“Well at least we got some good loot out of it.” Leo states.

[3/3]

You wonder if this would be a good time to ask your friends about something. Brock is very good at metaphysical things, combat, and some general things a scholar should know. Leo’s a pretty good historian. He’s been around to quite a few places and has studied history far more indepth than you have. Perhaps he help point you in the proper direction for some things? Tristen is very good at dealing with numbers and people. He’s pretty good at social interactions. Roger, while being a min-maxer, is excellent at analyzing the processes of bureaucratic functions of governments and a bit of business.

(In the meantime, I need to go prepare for my own game. I'll see if I can't sneak in one more update for the night. I may try to post some more on friday, but we'll see)
>>

Lets increase our politics rank.
Also, what rank of Aether Sight would be required to gain the ability to see the "broken" condition. Or would that be a unique skill? If so, how would we develop it?
>>
>>22645987
Rib Brock about giving Sartre to a 12 year old.

Ask about the GPS coordinates we were given, see if they have any insight on them.

Ask Leo about the history of this area and any important or powerful figures that were around, the Queens probably had the Lord that was meant to bust them out hanging out around this area so he might have heard something about her fate.

Ask Roger about any improvements or changes he would make to the running of this place to make it more efficient, assuming hypothetically he managed to leverage control of it.

Talk with Brock about Aether stuff and Demonology, which ought to count under metaphysical. Having someone we can discuss this sort of thing with ought to be fun.
>>
>>22646117

I definitely think we should discuss demonology, but while we are doing it, we should kind of interview them subtly as future prospects for conversion. Get a feel for if any of them would be suited to it.
>>
Would using the suggestion power to make Amanda spill the beans about her plans to betray us come under suicidal behavior?
>>
>>22646656
I'm sure we could phrase it in a way to make it sound like a reasonable idea to fess-up. But she seems pretty strong-willed so whether we could roll well enough is another question.
>>
>>22646656
Maybe. Not sure. Maybe if we phrased it right using Hidden Message.

Also when we told her to wait and get back to us with her answers to our questions she was bitter about it.
>>
>>22646748
We have the hidden message ability and are Good! at it. Since I'm pretty sure she doesn't even have a way to tell if we do that we can simply try try again.
>>
>>22646748

idea. when we are talking to her about arranging the next session, use hidden suggestion to implant "you trust me enough to share with me all your deepest secrets and darkest desires"
this should give us a few minutes of which she should be perfectly honest with us. all we should need to do now is plan the questions to ask her.
>>
>>22646907
I was thinking something more along the lines of Hidden Messaging "Be truthful with her. She can tell if you lie and won't teach you if you lie to her."
>>
>>22646825
Eh, she's really smart. If she keeps getting urges to do completely out-of-character things like confess while she's around us she's going to figure out something's wrong. And once she's watching out for the suggestions, they're useless.

>>22646907
That is way too blatant and unreasonable.
>>
>>22646944
I like this. Some variation of "She knows, if you fess up maybe bad things won't happen"
Heck, even if she realises it is us who is doing this she'll know two things:
1. We are capable of magic
2. We fucking know.
She might crack anyway
>>22646998
I'm not sure how much watching out for suggestions helps. Remember how much trouble we, as a demon had dealing with Blizarrous and we knew exactly what he was doing.
>>
>>22647226
>The suggestion must be worded in such a manner as to make the activity sound reasonable. Asking the creature to do some obviously harmful act automatically negates the effect of the spell.
Staying there and letting him catch up with us when he said to was obviously suicidal. Blizzy's thing is a different spell. Suggestion seems to me more of a subtle *suggestion* than straight up mind control.
>>
>>22647355
True, but we also had trouble with his AOE "kneel" thing.
>>
>>22647384
That was the same spell, wasn't it? Blizzy's Pride Demon forced respect thing doesn't work on the same rules as our Lust Demon subtle suggestion thing.

Hey Sandact, we don't seem to have any family around. All dead, live in another city, or what? Do/did we get on with them? “So Brock, mind telling me what in the world you were doing giving Sartre to a twelve year old?” you ask him. “That’s like scholar level stuff, not student level.”

“The child needs to develop a sense of what is right and what is wrong, and the right thing that one must do. Sartre I felt was a good starting point for that.” Brock replies.

“It’s actually probably easier to start with Plato or Aristotle for those kinds of things I find.” Leo offhandedly mentions.

“Yes, but being linked to a man who has a vastly different vision of an ideal vision is... well flirting on the edge of danger.” Brock says.

“That’s because don’t like that kind of innovative thinking.” you reply.

“Yea they usually stick with the shit their ancestors spout and stuff.” Leo replies.

“Their ancestors may speak wisdom, but I feel that one should also know the human mindset, particularly the one’s of reason and morality. The biggest mistake one can make is raising the future generation without any sense of morals or ethics.” Brock states.

“Well... Yea I agree with that but... Twelve years old man.” Tristen replies.

“I disagree. I feel that the earlier one starts with this, the more prepared they will be in life.” Brock states.

You shake your head and give a defeated sigh. Brock is simply like a mountain when he makes up his mind. Tall, unmoving, and somewhat breathtaking yes. But the key word being unmoving.
>>
>>22659954

[2/5]

“Oh yea Leo, I was wondering if I can ask you for a few things.” You tell him.

“What’s up?” he asks while sipping a beer.

You slide him the piece of paper with a set of GPS coordinates. “I was exploring the old world city ruins for something, I managed to find this for a location. Do you know what this means?”

Leo takes it and looks at it while having a drink. “Oh yea, this are old world GPS coordinates. It was a mapping system that was used all over before the Earth was split. I don’t know what this location is off the top of my head, but I should be able to tell you where it is with my maps at home. Any reason why you want it?”

“No special reason. Just curious is all.” you reply. “Secondly do you know of any good history in this area, mainly relating to Demon Lords? I am about to discuss the more modern era of history, and I’d like to know about any major Demon Lord’s or Knights that existed in this area since the Scouring.”

“Aside Articus I assume?” Leo asks.

“Duh.” you reply. “Including any specific enemies that the Pride Demons triumphed over.”

“Thankfully that list is rather small. Lord Chill or Lord Frezia are two off the top of my head, but I can compile a more complete list when I get back home so you have some idea of where to start. Is by Tuesday OK?”

“Yea that’s fine by me.” you reply. “Also Roger... Assuming, hypothetically of course, that you managed to leverage control over this town, what ways could you think of to improve it?”

“That every good looking woman from the ages between 18 and 26 must go on a date with me.” Roger happily replies.
>>
>>22659962

[3/5]

“...I hardly see how that’d be an improvement for the community.” Tristen replies.

“No, but it sure as hell would be for myself!” Roger replies.

“Ugh...” Brock sighs as he rolls his eyes.

“That’s EXACTLY my point Brock. Langy does whatever the hell he wants, regardless of how efficient or inefficient it is. Nepotism runs rampant throughout the entire structure of the city. First thing I’d do is a very selective pruning of the current paperpusher lineup.” Roger states.

“...Roger you may want to keep your voice down.” Tristen whispers in an angry tone to him.

Roger rolls his eyes. Complaining about how the city is run is one of the major crimes here in the city. Proposing that you can do better without being on one of the inner circle of bureaucrats is nearly suicide. Hell, even if you do get to the inner circle, you need to deal with the egotist known as Langy himself, who thinks he can do almost no sort of wrong while ruling. You’d probably need to ask Roger about something like this again in a less public place.

“Also Brock, I was wondering about what your thoughts and opinions are on Aetheric theory and Demonology. If I recall correctly, you did study some of it.” you tell him.

“Indeed, but less on the scientific aspect and more of the metaphysical parts of it. The studies I mainly performed about it where things like the theory of higher and lower forms of Aetheric energies.” Brock states.

“Higher and lower? You mean like physical and conceptual?” Tristen asks.
>>
>>22627992
this sounds more awful than if gary glitter and jimmy saville had a child together
>>
>>22659970

[4/5]

“Yes, exactly. Aether itself is only one substance, aether. Something that is omnipresent and exists everywhere. But we have two... main planes that aether can be channeled into. The Physical, or low world, consists of things we can mainly see and notice in the physical world. Such as Water, Fire, Light, Dark, certain aspects of life, etc... The Conceptual, or higher order, of Aetheric energies are more difficult to grasp as we cannot perceive them with our senses. These constitute such things as Fate, Time, Space, Death, Spiritual, the consciousness, among other things.” Brock explains.

“So where would aether itself exist between these two layers?” you ask.

“That is still being debated.” Brock replies.

“And what about Demonology?” Leo asks.

“I probably don’t know the history as well as you do Leo, but I do try to keep myself up on what seperates man from demon or angel. Angels are said to to follow the ‘Good’ or ‘positive’ freedom. The main claim is that Angels are always compelled to do what they consider to be morally just or good in the world. Things such as Altruism, forgiveness, etc...” Brock says.

“So Demons have the Evil?” Tristen asks.

“Nope.” Roger replies.

“One of the few times I will agree with Roger. While Celestia claims that demons are compelled to only think of themselves, I consider that an exceptionally narrow world view, partially brought on by their rivalry with demons. Demons have what can be called in essence as ‘negative’ freedom. That doesn’t mean bad persay, but rather it means they have the freedom to do whatever they want. This means they have the capacity for positive freedom, but also they can do things that go against positive freedom. The fact that we’re here playing a game rather than helping the poor is an example of negative freedom. As is going out and killing someone just because you don’t like their hair colour.” Brock states.
>>
>>22659981

[5/5]

“...So wait, demons can do both?” You ask, somewhat confused.

“My own theory is that everyone has the capacity for both. It is just that some of the forces in Celestia are so rooted in the positive mindset, that they consider any negative freedom thoughts to be completely alien. They cannot conceive of any other way of being. This is one of the prime reasons that citizens of Celestia keep misinterpreting the views of the angels they so worship, as the Celestia angelic beings have immense trouble trying to explain something so fundamental to people accurately.” Brock states.

“So why do they hunt demons yet shelter humans?” Tristan asks, now getting interested in the sociology behind this.

“My guess is that they see mortals as a divine creature that has been tainted by demons and their negative freedom. The very idea that someone has the potential to do an immoral act is unjust in their eyes. They give some lenience to mortals due to their divine potential. Demons are a more complicated issue, and I cannot say for certainty whenever they actually believe that demons are only capable of egotistical actions. But even if they didn’t believe that, I still think they’d hate demons, simply because they have negative freedom, and therefore the capacity to have evil.” Brock states.

“So what would they think of demons performing positive freedom acts?” Roger acts.

“Won’t work. They’ll claim that the demon isn’t doing it for you, but rather for his own egotistical gain. Even if the demon would gain no material worth from an act, they’ll say that they do it simply because it feeds the demon’s ego, rather than the actual need to help a person. Am I right on this Brock?” Tristan ask.

Brock just simply nods in agreement.

>Angels are always compelled to do what they consider to be morally just or good in the world. Things such as Altruism, forgiveness, etc...
>The fact that we’re here playing a game rather than helping the poor is an example of negative freedom
So, uh... Brodin kind of disproves that theory. Beautiful lazy drunk angelic bastard.

>My own theory is that everyone has the capacity for both. It is just that some of the forces in Celestia are so rooted in the positive mindset, that they consider any negative freedom thoughts to be completely alien.
That one's pretty interesting. I find it unlikely that there are angels like that who can't do anything except the course of action that maximises good, but you never know. Maybe they're not just demons with better PR like the Queens said.
>>
>>22660399
Don't think Brodin is exactly an angel, otherwise he wouldn't be so chill with us succubi, or so drunk.
>>
>>22660399
brodin is an angel of death he told us it was pretty different from an actual angel.
>>
>>22660467
Reapers aren't exactly the most typical sort of angel but that doesn't make him not an angel.
> As for spiritual position we’re... odd. We technically count as a form of angel, despite the undead status
>“...You? An angel?” you say raising your eyebrows.
> “Yea we’re like ambassadors to the Underworld... Hell most of the Realm’s. Everyone puts up with us as if they know the natural order is violated, then their entire town will be overrun by ghosts, spectres, insert whatever undead baddie you want. Basically we collect souls if they go past their time and make sure they stay dead.” The Reaper suddenly lunges over the bowl gagging, but doesn’t throw up. “Even the demons put up and respect us, as an undead infestation can be quite a pain for everyone involved.”
>>
>>22660399
Angel Hypocrisy?
That's completely out of character for this quest.
>>
>>22660399
If I recall correctly from a discussion in chat, reapers aren't born angels so they haven't been indoctrinated enough to have the angel mindset.
>>
>>22660945
So it's not an inherent thing to being an angel, it's a cultural thing: i.e. exactly what the second theory said and proving the first theory wrong.
>>
>>22661183
I can follow it being a cultural thing, it would also explain the fact that even though succubi are demons, they are good.

Well you certainly have time for that now with the weekend coming up.
>>
>>22664463

also, being in the merc camp for training should allow us to nom on the heated emotions of the merc groups training. two birds with one stone...
>>
>>22664623
we don't get much out of ambient emotions now.
It has to be emotions centered on us (aka provoked by us). Unless it's a battle or something
>>
>>22665167

that is not necessarily true though. while yes, we do get more energy from focusing the creation of energy towards us, it does not mean that we do not get Any energy from ambient emotion. example is that during the scumball game, we had a good feed despite the emotions being centered on the game, rather than us. the reason we get more energy personally could be due to us drawing the energy out, rather than soaking up the rays. kind of like a tan, you could get one quickly using a tanning bed, Or build one up naturally on a sunny beach.
>>
>>22665258
>we do not get Any energy
didn't say that. I meant we only get small amount, barely to sustain us. We are better of telling stories.
>>
Just to be clear, it doesn't matter whom the emotions are directed at when you emotion feed. The important thing is that you just need to be near a group of people feeling a strong emotion.
