Welcome back to Marine Quest!

Last time on Marine Quest:
>http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/22498724/

We last left our heroes on Mining Island. Something awful has happened here. The village is ransacked, the townsfolk are missing, and justice has not yet been dispensed! Together with two of your newly appointed officers, you have investigated one of the abandoned buildings. Inside you have found evidence of a raid and the possibility of a mysterious third party. One of the miners was also found, scared half to death and convinced that you, the Marines, are responsible for all of this! It's time to put down the criminals responsible for all this, and clear the Navy's good name.
>>
Did you hear him right? The Marines did this? No that’s impossible. You’ve seen some corruption in the Navy, your old captain is a prime example… but making an entire village disappear for no good reason? The Marines were the ones who alerted them of the situation in the first place! Alfonso and Marianne look just as confused, but their faces turn grim just as quickly. It seems the wounds from Captain Blue’s betrayal still runs deep. You must get to the bottom of this, you’ve had enough of rotten marines.
The man is distraught, it won’t be easy to get any more information out of him.

Attempt to calm the man down, and roll a 1d100

Your reassurances do not do much to help calm the man's hysteria, but he at least looks willing to talk to you. You don't know how much you will be able to ask him before his paranoia shuts him up again.

>Ask the man a question
>Have Alfonso pose a question
>Have Marianne pose a question
>>
>>22553146
Not Marianne, she's probably in an extremely bad mood and is ready to kill something. Note to self, give her head pats when she does well.

Let's ask him a question, we're charismatic. Ask him for details about the attacks, if he remembers any names, distinguishing features, when they came and where they came from, information is key.
>>
>>22553146
Tell Alfonso to ask what happens. he's decent with people.
>>
>>22553184
And then head pats all around
>>
>>22553146
Alfonso. He's awesome at people skills. Ask him for any details about what happened.
>>
You know how good Alfonso is with people, and quietly ask him if he could try to find out what happened.

Alfonso carefully walks up to the ragged man and sits down in front of him. "Friend, it's alright, we're here to make sure everything turns out alright. We don't know if those men were actually marines, but even if they are, we'll do what it takes to get your friends and family back." The man looks at Alfonso through stifled sobs and nods, wiping away the snot hanging from his nose. Alfonso smiles gently, "What happened here?"

The man tries to put a brave face on as he speaks again, "Th-they came this morning. We didn't even see the ship. W... we didn't see them at first... a few people went missing including children, so we called it in to the Navy. When the Navy arrived, we were so relieved but then they... they just started firing into houses and taking hostages... they... they were looking for..." he breaks into sobs again.

The man's words are harder to make out through his sobs, "They.. they were looking for... for someone... some... Jeremiah guy..." He bursts into tears and shakes uncontrollably on the floor. The recent events were clearly too much for him. You don't think you could get anything more out of him.

You tell the man that there is a Navy ship at the end of the docks... a REAL Navy ship. He doesn't move, and you don't know if he will actually go.

Having gone through the house, you walk back outside. There is still the ransacked bar and empty well, everything else looks like it's on the verge of collapse.

First, make it clear that it doesn't matter if the culprits were marines or people pretending to marines, they shall be brought to Justice just the same. Then ask for their opinions on the situation, who they think this Jeremiah fellow is, and where to start looking for clues.
>>
>>22553419

Alfonso is poor at investigation, and Marianne is fair. The good Captain is excellent at investigation.

Rolled 84

Time to do some work ourself. Rolling to investigate.

>>22553471
Where are you trying to investigate?

>Consult your officers

You ask your officers what they make of the situation so far.

Marianne begins, "Sir! It is difficult to know the entire truth so far! It's... disturbing to think that the Navy did this sir! But the possibility is not out until we confront these men! Sir! I should let you know that I will not hesitate in executing justice! Marines or not, what was done here is a crime! They will be called to their actions, sir!" She ends with a salute, and you thank her.

Alfonso scratches his chin as he ponders, "I agree with Marianne, with what we know it's too soon to figure out what really happened here. It doesn't help that our one witness is half mad. I'm also wondering about this Jeremiah fellow he was talking about. They said they were looking for him... they were desperate enough to tear apart an entire town just to find him... why is he so important? Marianne do you know of any pirates named Jeremiah?"

Marianne shakes her head as she salutes again, "Lt. Commander! I do not recall of any Jeremiah of any noteworthy bounty! There are a couple rookies, but it wouldn't make sense for them to be here at the Grand Line! Sir!"

It seems you and your officers are still at a loss of what has really happened here.

There doesn't appear to be anyone in here.

>>
>>22553607
I was wondering how you handle the rolls, Admiral. Do you just take the first one, or do you average them, or what?
>>
You and your officers scour the bar. Unlike the home, you find the bar to yield more curious clues.

The most obvious thing to you, is that all of the liquor behind the bar was either stolen, or drunk on the spot with the bottle left behind. Curious behavior from marines of the Navy... but if they are half the wretches you imagine them to be you wouldn't put it past them to degrade to this sort of behavior.

The next thing you find is a map behind the counter, hanging by the wall. The map used to be in a glass frame, but the most recent patrons shattered it for good measure. You pick up the map and confirm that it details the island. You notice the port you are currently in, and the only other settlement on the small island: the mining facility.

Marianne asks for your attention again, and you're eager to hear what she has to say, "Sir! There's something odd about the room." you ask her to continue, "Sir! The way the room is ruined, it doesn't suggest that there was a fight or the kind of wanton destruction seen in the other homes. Sir! There are no weapon marks, no bullet holes, no attempt at arson... it's as if... it's as if they just had a rowdy party and left."

So we've learned a few more things about our marine friends...

These threads have a habit of dominating rolls when they actually matter.

You continue to search the bar, in hope for any sort of clue as to what happened. You trip and somersault once before comically falling flat on your face. Alfonso bursts out laughing, gouts of tears coming from his eyes, and Marianne only puts her mouth up to her face with wide eyes.

You curse enough to make a pirate blush, and you look back to see what the hell tripped you. It was just a rug behind the bar, but your trip removed enough of the rug to reveal a trap door!

You call the others to you and fully reveal the entrance. The door is huge, and both you and Alfonso had to work together to pry it open. You expected some kind of basement, or more villagers hiding from the marauding marines, but there is only a long and dark tunnel that seems to continue for you're not sure how long. What is this tunnel? An escape route?

You don't think you could go down the tunnel right now. If you just uncovered it, then the culprits must have missed it as well. Not to mention you have no lamp to lead you through!

You decide to investigate the well before the sun fully sets. You walk over to it and look down. Just darkness. There is a rope though, and you start pulling it up. Suddenly, it jerks around! What's with the resistance? You hurry Alfonso over to help you pull up whatever is trying so hard to stay down there. You continue for about half a minute, Alfonso and yourself looking like you're battling some monstrous fish that doesn't want to get caught.

With only a little straining you finally go for a titanic effort, and out pops a little crying girl! The girl flies into the air from your excessive use of strength, and lands neatly in Marianne's arms, crying all the way. She takes one good look at you, Alfonso, and then Marianne before sobbing all over again. Alfonso starts laughing hysterically again, and Marianne looks like she has no idea with what to do in this situation as she awkwardly holds the crying girl.

"I-I.. I WANT... W-WANT MY MOMMYYYYYY" The waterworks continue to jet from her eyes.

You're glad you have experience with younger siblings as you attempt to calm the girl down.

The little girl hasn't stopped crying, but you ask her where her mom is.

"MOMMMY WAS TAKEN BY BAD GUUUUUYS!" the water pressure seems to increase after being reminded of her mommy again.

You ask the little girl if she knows what the bad men looked like.

"THEY LOOKED LIKE YOUUUUU. I DON'T WANT TO BE 'MOOTLATED'" her kindergarten pronunciation of 'mutilated' pulls on your heart strings.

You assure that girl that she won't be 'mutilated', and that you're good guys who want to save your mom.

The girl's floodgates close shut immediately when she hears a possibility to see her mom again, "Really? You'll bring mommy back?" she sniffles a bit as she says this.

You say you will, but you need her to a brave little marine and answer some questions to help save her mommy. She wipes her eyes and nose and looks up with a determined face before giving you a sloppy salute. You hear a quiet "kawaii~" escape from Marianne's lips and look up to see her eyes have turned into stars.

You pat the little girl on the head, telling her she's doing a fine job, and ask if she knows where her mom was taken.

"I don't know! Mommy put me in here so the bad men wouldn't see me! But I don't know where they went."

You ask her if she knows what they looked like.

"They looked like you! Only scarier... One of them had cannons instead of arms!"

Odd. You don't know anyone in the Navy with cannons arms, maybe it was just her imagination. You ask her if she remembers anything else.

"Yea! Some of the bad men were talking beside the well! And they... they said..." she puts on a gruff deep voice as much as her tiny vocal cords can manage "We won't stop until we find him! We need... we need to get it back! Yarharharhar!"

That laugh... could it be? Or was it just a poor impression? Before you can ask anymore questions the girl has fallen asleep in Marianne's arms.

The culprits have been on the run for too long, and you don't know how much time you have before it goes from bad to worse. You need to go after these scumbags now! But you can't leave the little girl here...

>>
You pick up the little girl from Marianne's arms and gently wrap her in your coat. You then order Alfonso to take the girl to the ship, and have Big Ocean take care of her. You give him strict orders that Big Ocean is to do a quick checkup to make sure she's not sick and then give her as much warm food as she wants. Alfonso start to leave and you add that there is no rush, the girl's safety takes priority.

You go over to Marianne and ask her for suggestions.

"Sir! It would be wise to pursue the pirates immediately!"

Pirates? So your suspicions are confirmed. You ask Marianne to elaborate.

"Sir! It was the little girl's story. The obnoxious pirate laugh, that got me thinking about any pirates with cannons for arms and I know of one: Captain J. B. Bullough, of the Strongarm Pirates, sir!"

You breathe a sigh of relief. So they aren't marines.

"Sir! I think our best course of action is to go to the mining facility! It would be logical that that is where the pirates would look next for "Jeremiah". We could go through the main road, or we could take a chance with that tunnel in the bar, although I have no idea where it could actually lead. Sir!"

You agree with Marianne.

>>22555178

You continue upwards, wherever the tunnel may lead. The time passes by uneventfully, with only Marianne having a little scare at something she refuses to explain.

Finally you arrive at a metal door. Marianne looks about ready to draw her sword to cut it apart, but you reach your hand forward and just push it open.

You pass the door into a much larger tunnel, this one is well lit, with torches spread in a pattern on the wall. On the ground there are two sets of rail tracks. You guess that this is one of the mines.

To your left you notice the tunnel going further back up, presumably back above ground, you hear some voices in that direction.

To your right you hear nothing in particular, and the tunnel continues downwards into the mine.

>Go left

You head left. The voices don't become clearer, but they certainly become louder.

You see the entrance straight ahead, and stop dead in your tracks as you see a pair of marines... no, pirates... standing guard over the entrance to the mine.

The man and little girl were right! They're in marine uniforms! Are these really pirates? Marianne taps your shoulder and points at the uniforms. You look closer and you realize what she's pointing out. Blood. Blood stains the fabric of the uniforms, and the fabric is torn in places. So, these pirates raided a marine ship, killed the captain and her crew, and took the uniforms so that they could go play dress up.

It makes you sick to your stomach, and you light a cigar you had in your pocket and take a few puffs. Marianne looks horrified as you blatantly give away your position.

One of the pirates turns around, "Hey!" then the other one, "what are you doing back up here? Don't you know you're supposed to stay nice and quiet until we get... hey... YOU'RE MARI-"

Before he finishes you dash forward and grab both of the pirates by their skulls. You slam their heads together and relish the loud crack that's made.

"Dismissed.", and you take another puff of your cigar.

Marianne rushes over to cuff the pirates and gag them. You take note of them as she does this, there's no doubt about it. The bad hygiene, the stink of alcohol, the myriad of tattoos. These men are pirates dressed as marines.

After concealing the bodies of the unconscious pirates as best you can, you and Marianne continue outside of the tunnel.

Coming out of the entrance you see a large square, with tents and various buildings organized around it. Working frantically around the mining camp is a swarm of disguised pirates, tearing the place apart to look for Jeremiah or whatever the hell it was that he stole. You notice that many of the men looking don't look like pirates. They must be the abducted villagers, but where are the women and children.

"You don't get food or rest until you find that rat Jeremiah or that damned chest!" You hear a deep booming voice from the center of the square. On a pedestal stands an enormously obese man with cannons for arms. Captain J. B. Bullough.

One of the men from the village collapses from exhaustion after trying to move a crate of ore. Bullough shrieks at the man and shoots him with one of his cannon arms, obliterating him and anything close by.

You're tired of hiding, you start to get up to walk up and punch Bullough in that fat pirate face of his. Before you leave your hiding spot, Bullough's continues screaming out orders, "SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T WORK?! Work faster you lazy no good landlubbers! You stop working and I detonate the explosives and blow apart your precious mine and everyone in it to THE MOON! YARHARHARHARHAR!" The bastard is holding the mine hostage! You've decided to head back into the tunnels to find the damn explosives and get those people out of there!

"JUUUUSTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCEEEE!"

A loud voice suddenly rings out from across the mining facility like a mighty hammer falling on an anvil. Alfonso came back! But you forgot to tell him you went through the tunnel! You and Marianne share a look of horror as Alfonso proceeds to butcher his way through the swarm of pirates. Up and down goes his mighty tetsubo. With each swing a pirate goes flying into the air, but two more appear in his place. Alfonso continues to tear through the pirates like a giant terrier in a rat warren. Two loud booms pierce the air, and Bullough's cannonballs slam into Alfonso, slowing his berserker pace.

You move to go help him, but Marianne holds you back as the mass of pirates begins to overwhelm Alfonso.

"YARHARHAR! You stupid marine! Thought you could save all of these people did you? NO ONE GETS THE BEST OF THE STRONGARM PIRATES!" a cheer comes up from the pirate crew.

Damn it Alfonso, you just couldn't hold yourself back could you.

>Alfonso has been captured! The pirates are more alert now

You move deeper into the tunnels, going past where you originally started. You see the wire that seems to connect the explosives to Bullough's switch, but you're not trained enough in such things to know if it's wise to disconnect it. The tunnel opens up ahead and you and Marianne hug the wall before you're spotted.

You hear sobs and whispers, and you're all but sure that the women and children are being held hostage in the next area. You can't see them but there has to be more pirates guarding them. Marianne has her hand on her katana, she gives you a determined nod.

How do you procede?

The time for stealth is over, you give Marianne a nudge and charge through the gate.

You slam your fist into the first person you see wearing a marine coat. The body goes flying across the room and collapses a set of crates. You continue this pattern a few more times before you start to look for anyone threatening the villagers.

You see a pirate raise his pistol at a little girl. Time slows down as you rush forward to take him out. His finger begins to cock the gun. You're not going to make it in time. The gun is cocked. The finger begins to pull... and his hand begins to fall of the sputtering stump of his arm. Marianne kicks the fake marine in the stomach for good measure, making him collapse while he screams in pain.

You breathe a sigh of relief as you and Marianne fight around the prisoners protectively. Your punches have no lack of targets, and you could practically just wave your arm out to hit a pirate.

Marianne's defense is impeccable, her stance changes fluidly as the attacker's try to get past her. The movements she makes with her sword makes it look as if she was wielding water, and not a metal blade.

After a few more minutes, the pirates are done. Your rush strategy seems to have worked, but you're not sure you could have forgiven yourself if you were a second too late.

>talk to the prisoners

You decide not to bother the poor citizens with any questions. You let them know that the men involved are actually pirates, and that the real navy is here to help.

You give them directions to the hidden passage to the bar and tell them that there is a Navy warship waiting at the docks that will assisst them.

Once all of the people have filed out, you and Marianne get to work finding the explosives. After a minute, you find a crude satchel filled with explosive material, and Marianne brings you two more. They're all connected to the same wire, and you're sure there aren't any more. Marianne plucks the cigar out of your mouth and tosses it away. Ah, yea that could have been bad.

You look over the explosives with no idea on how to disarm them.

...wait, maybe you don't have to disarm them, just relocate them, and you know the perfect spot.

You now have the explosives!

You head back up the tunnel with explosives in hand, careful not to accidentally disconnect any of the wires.

You're back at the entrance of the tunnel. Alfonso is now set up on a stick, stripped and bare for all to see at the entrance of the mine... those bastards. Bulloughs is at the center of it all, you just have to get the explosives near enough...

You tell Marianne to stay hidden for now while you hide the explosive. You order her that if you get captured that she should go back into the tunnel to save herself, there's been enough heroics for one day.

You start to move into the crowd of pirates. Your uniform actually works as the perfect disguise. If a certain pirate gets too suspicious then you just dissappear into the busy crowd. Still, just being around this many criminals is hard enough for you. It takes all of your willpower to not attack them... You don't know if you can keep it up anymore...

You continue through the pirate camp. All of them look so busy looking for whatever it is they're looking for.

"You! In the fancy suit!"

You freeze, it seems some kind of pirate overseer has singled you out. You turn towards the voice, putting on your best pirate sneer.

"Yea, you. Aren't you supposed to be in the mines guarding the prisoners? What's your name again?" The overseer is apparently not familiar enough with this massive crew to pick you apart. He's a thin wiry pirate, but you don't doubt his abilities since he's out here on the Grand Line.

"Excellent! That Jeremiah Crowe thought he could get away with stealing from me? YARHARHARHAR"

"KILL THAT MARINE!" Bullough screams as he jumps up and down. In his jumping fit, the Devil Fruit accidentally slips into one of his cannon arms! Bullough's eyes tear out of his socket as he shrieks at his newest predicament. He tries desperately to get the Devil Fruit out but it seems stuck! You have a chance!

A group of pirates close to the mine's entrance have exploded up into the air! Pouring out of the gate and entering the fray is Marianne and the rest of your crew! It seems they came back after the hostages told them what was happening! They are fighting their way through the pirates towards you and Bullough!

The Marines are here! What do you do?

The mining camp has turned into absolute chaos. Your crew has joined battle with a vengeance, and the image of marine against marine is a bit disorienting for you. The pirates around you have their jaws dropped as the tables abruptly turn on them, and you take the opportunity to appreciate the power and dedication of your crew.

Big Ocean is the most notable, his massive frying pan cleaves through several pirates at once as he bulldozes through the pirate ranks. You notice the little girl from earlier riding on Big Ocean's shoulders, giggling as she tries to hold on, your jacket tied around her neck.

Cage's attacks are precise and efficient, as he fire gas grenades and nets into the pirate ranks, eliminating whatever is the greatest threat at that moment.

Hitoshi is a complete blur, and uses his Six Forms to full effect as he dashes around the pirate ranks, eliminating leaders and overseers silently before disappearing again.

Marianne is wreaking the most destruction against the pirate mob. Her sword cuts down swathes of foes at once, and you swear you can see a dark aura from all the way here, like some massive beast hangs over her and strikes against the enemy pirates. The biggest problem for her is that she seems to quickly run out of pirates to fight.

You look away smiling, as pride fills your heart. You take out your last cigar, and light it. You couldn't ask for a better crew.

You leap towards Bullough, and immediately you are blocked by two of his officers. "Think you'll make it to the Cap'n that easy eh marine scum?" They strike at you simultaneously, their blades going right for the killing blow. You let your body go limp. The blades pass you by mere inches, but you dodge each blow. Like paper, you think to yourself with a grin.

You deliver two devastating punches to the vulnerable pirate officers, knocking them out instantly. The way to Bullough is clear!

Roll 1d100 and announce attack!

I believe the fun of the Devil Fruit is the complete randomness of it. I also think hoarding something like a Devil Fruit until everyone finds out exactly what it is is no fun, as it could take a couple play sessions before they find someone who COULD know what it is exactly.

However, I will not be against an overwhelming decision to NOT eat the Devil Fruit, I'm not that kind of quest manager.

BUT... it's no accident that poor rolls had the Devil Fruit wind up in your mouth, as ingesting even a little bit of the fruit gives you it's powers. So dislodging an entire Devil Fruit from your mouth could be challenging.

So to hurry this along and make it simpler for everyone:

You look around you, the pirates are on the run, your own crew are mopping up after the wanton destruction you've caused. A couple of squads are being led by Cage to pursue the fleeing pirates, and you have no doubt this island will be cleaned up and pirate free. You see Alfonso being pulled down from his post, with Big Ocean already treating his injuries.

You try to sit up. Your arm is in a tight sling and even the little movement is too much for you right now. Instead you just turn your head to see if you can see anything more. There's a window to your right, with the clear sky in view you can see sea birds flying lazily overhead.

To your left is a door, and out of the corner of your eye you see some kind of bedside table. You crane your head to look at it and it's the Devil Fruit that got shot in your mouth. You examine it more closely now. It's purple, with swirls covering all around it, looking at it now you have no idea how it fit inside your mouth.

You decide to wake up the little girl with a gentle pat on the head with your left arm.

She stirs awake slowly and rubs her eyes, "Mmm?" her smile then widens to supernatural proportions as she realizes your'e up. "Onii-chan is awake! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!"

She continues to say 'YAY' and jump on your bed, she's crying again of course.

Yeah, and if this girl was worried we were going to die imagine how freaked out Marianne is about us.
>>
>>22558484

we should give all the officers a chance for the Devil Fruit. anyone who wants it, enters a game tournament. Winner takes the Devil Fruit.
either that or we eat it or we take it back to the Marine base and hand it in for more stuff.
>>
>>22558514
Good point, but we need Alfonso to know that we care about him too. Just get them both in, tell her to get them both if we can
>>
>>22558523
That seems a bit overwrought. That said, some of the strongest characters don't use a fruit.
>>
>>22558523
I like this idea
>>
>>22558523
Or we could give it to Marine Command, just sayin'.
>>
>>22558538

we are not making them play. IF they want a shot at having Devil Fruit Powers, they can participate. If they are not interested, they either pass, or just spectate. it is an option for if either we don't want to eat the fruit OR if we want to be a nice captain who gives his officers the chance at such things.

>>22558572 did mention that at the end of the post there...
>>
>>22558572

Good point, with the money that would bring in, we can pimp out our ship even more.
>>
"I seen you on the battlefield. You had those pirates running scared. If I'd known what great a fighter you were, i wouldn't have had to blow them up." you say.

Her smile gets even bigger, "Mm! Ocean onee-chan said the same thing! He said that he was just carrying me so that everyone could see how scary I was!" She giggles at this, and you can't help but laugh along with her.

>Get Alfonso

"Mm! The other big man? He is also worried about you! Almost as much as nee-sama!"

Who is-- but before you can begin to ask she's out the door to find Alfonso.

Less than a minute later and Alfonso entered through the door. He breathes a sigh of relief and laughs hysterically, "GAHAHA! You look even worse than I do!". You laugh with your friend, and you're glad to see him alright after he was strung up like butcher's meat by those pirates.

Ask:
>after the battle
>the rest of the crew
>the villagers
>the devil fruit
>>
>>22558591
Whoop, didn't notice that. In my defense it's 3 AM here.
>>
>>22558595
Ask about all of those, and then tell him to get "nee-sama"
Also ask if he is alright after getting captured
>>
>>22558595
>rest of the crew
>the villagers
>after the battle
>the fruit
>>
>>22558595

Ask after the villagers, then the crew.
>>
>>22558595
Yes, all of those are important. Start with asking if he's alright.

Start with the rest of the crew, especially if Marianne is doing okay, then the villagers, then the aftermath of the battle, then the devil fruit.
>>
>>22558595
all the options!!!
Captcha: ututchi seeds
Well I don't know if we can use the Devil fruit's seeds to grow more I don't know about that
>>
>>22558595
>onee-chan
Is she referring to Marianne (which would be correct) or Big Ocean (which wouldn't, since that's the phrase for older sister)?
>>
>>22558595

inquire about the Villagers then the Crew.
afterwards we can ask about how much of a mess the explosives left of the mining camp.
also ask about the state of our prisoners, if any were left after the explosion...
>>
>>22558648
nee-sama
Onee-chan is us
Nee-sama is a female term
>>
>>22558648
We could just be REALLY bad at gender identification. She did say Ocean onee-chan when referring to Big Oceon. By nee-sama she's probably talking about Marianne.
>>
>>22558621

no problems. i know the feeling. is 8.30 here, haven't slept yet...
all hail the magical powers of Coke!
>>
>>22558657
Onee is still feminine. Onii is masculine.

Rolled 75

>>22558595
>ask about the rest of the crew
>the villagers

>see if Alfonso wants the devil fruit.

We badass leader already, don't need no devil fruit. Using it to supplement the people that support us, people that we know have our back makes us that much stronger.

Giving a trusted subordinate the devil fruit is essentially as good as having it yourself. Taking the long view, presumably we'll end up mastering at least some of (if not all) the six forms and/or learning some kind of Haki.

tl;dr: Alfonso eats it, he's basically our left hand anyways, so we still have access to all its powers without any of the seastone weaknesses; and with Hitoshi teaching us we don't really need its powers to increase our combat effectiveness.
>>
>>22558754
er, forgot to clear email, my bad
>>
>>22558754
But I want to be a Rubber Man!
>>
>all the options
>I don't even know why they're an option probably just so I can buy time

>After the battle

"Well after your big explosion it went completely downhill for the pirates. Cage did a fantastic job of rounding them up after they fled, really I don't think there's one pirate alive and not in custody on this island right now." He scratched his head, "I don't really know too much after that, I was too badly injured. Guess I went a little overboard huh Captain? Gahaha!"

>the crew

"The crew is fine, the pirates put up a good fight, and we lost some men, but it was a complete rout. There were some tough officers, but from what I hear our own officers put them in their place and did the Navy proud.

Marianne was just in the hall with me actually. Hitoshi is commanding officer on the ship right now. Big Ocean is here in the hospital, taking care of any who were injured in the battle. Cage is out hunting down any trace of pirates left. Ricochet is still recovering in sick bay. And let's see, ah! and Rosewater is just preparing the ship for departure."

>the villagers

"I have to say Captain you did good, almost all of the villagers made it back safe and sound. You can't save them all sometimes Captain, especially not with pirates, and especially since Bullough had that explosive trap set up in the mines... it could have ended up a lot worse. I'm proud of you, Cap."

>the Devil Fruit

"Ah, now that is another matter altogether. Well I'll be honest Captain it would be very useful to have another Devil Fruit User on board, especially since we'll be trekking in even further past the Grand Line... And that being said, me and the other officers have talked about it, and we think you deserve to have it, for whatever you want, the crew feels the same way. You've done so much for us already, David."

The villagers are saved, you and your crew is on it's way to recovery. Just hearing that relieves you.
>>
>>22558708

I will definetly remember that in the future for accuracy. In this case, Big Ocean and Captain are onii-chans and ??? is nee sama, so yea it's pretty clear on who it is.
>>
>>22558820
Alright if we can make actions, call in "nee-sama"
>>
>>22558820
I personally we say we should eat the Devil Fruit, once we get back on our ship and have our crew around for it, make a bit of a ceremony out of it.

For now let's thank Alfonso, brofist him with our good arm, and have him help us to our feet.

Then we can go to the hall and see Marianne, she's almost certainly the nee-sama who's been worried sick.
>>
>>22558855

But if we sell it, think of all the loot we can get!
>>
>>22558862

we would not sell if for personal gain! we would hand it in to the Marine Base, and we could upgrade our ship/weapons/crews gear/better supplies ect.
>>
Rolled 52

>>22558855
Also, just a reminder, if we eat the fruit we won't be completely in the dark as far as training goes for it since Hitoshi is user, so he should theoretically be able to give us a few pointers if we decide to go down that path.
>>22558862
Who needs loot when you have JUSTICE?
>>
>>22558862
We're a Marine, money isn't a big deal. Justice can't be bought with any amount of Gold. We could give it to base for some upgrades, but I'd personally use it.
>>
>>22558896
Just eat it. Everyone has gave us the go
>>
>>22558855
>>22558862
How about we figure out what the fruit is first, then we make decision.
>>
>>22558904
WE CANT FIGURE IT OUT
OP HAS SAID WE CANT
>>
>>22558902
I say we give it Marine Command. We don't need a Devil Fruit.
>>
>>22558902

yes. it is better to eat it when we are not in a combat situation, so by not eating it in the heat of the moment, we have given ourselves the chance to learn of its powers.

though i still think that we should offer it to our officers as we seem to be aiming to be like Garp.
>>
>>22558948
As long as someone eats it in our crew and everyone understands once and for all that we can't figure out what it is because thats been said a good 5 times
>>
You ask Alfonso to see Marianne.

"Arara... I'll leave the room for this, leave you two alone, Captain."

You assure Alfonso that that is not the case at all by leaping out bed to deliver a flying kick to his legs. You immediately fall back onto the bed, yelping in pain.

Alfonso hops up and down clutching his leg, "What is wrong with you, you idiot! Ah! I just got better too! Good! You can sit there gasping in pain!" He leaves the room grumbling all the way.

Marianne walks in a few minutes later. She is in full uniform, although it looks as if the clothes came right from the tailor and not straight from a battlefield.

"Sir! Lieutenant Marianne reporting as asked sir!"

You ask Marianne how she is after the battle.

"I suffered no injuries sir! Sir! I must ask as your Lieutenant that you refrain from detonating explosions that have the possibility of blowing you into tiny little pieces sir!" She seems quite distressed at the idea of you being blown up. "I-I just don't want another Captain like Blue sir! I feel much more alive hunting down pirates and bringing them to justice with you and the crew! S-sir!" she quickly adds.

Well to make this less awkward for Marianne you might as well ask about the Devil Fruit.

"Sir! I will only say that if anyone deserves to have it, it is you! Sir!" She salutes smartly, her glasses once again perilously hanging onto her face.

Hours later Big Ocean arrives to tell you your condition. Your arm and a few ribs are broken from the battle. It will be some time before you are in complete fighting condition but you can be moved to the ship immediately, and can be walking around in just a few days.

It's time to leave soon.
>>
Before I write a conclusion I feel obligated to settle this Devil Fruit matter right now so we don't spend the next thread arguing about it for 200 posts. I'll review and decide what the majority seems to be.

Going to go make some tea. Be back in a bit.
>>
>>22559014
Eat it is my opinion
REMEBER THAT WE CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IT DOES UNTIL WE EAT IT
>>
>>22559014

I'd rather give it to someone else, but I won't be upset if we eat it.
>>
>>22559014
Eat the fruit, in front of the crew. No matter what it does or what it actually is, we'll say it was the Seigi Seigi No Mi.
>>
>>22559014
Namefagging for vote purposes. I vote we give it to Command. We don't need a Devil Fruit to bring people to JUSTICE, look at Garp.
>>
>>22559024
I'll also vote for eating it. Also namefagging for the sake of the vote.
>>
>>22559014
Just eat it
>>
>>22559014
Go on a quest to find the book that identifies all the Devil Fruits and identify it!
>>
>>22559014

seems like we're eating it then.
i would advise on eating it once we are back in fighting form. we will need to get to grips with whatever powers we gain from the fruit.
>>
>>22559121
Maybe it will help us heal or someshit.
>>
>>22559121
If it's a Logia we might just heal up right then and there.

I'm hoping for a Logia or a damn cool Paramecia. I don't want Zoan unless it's a Mythical Zoan, which would be hardcore.
>>
>>22559145
This.
>>
>>22559145

fair point. but at least let us heal up enough to give the crew a good show of us eating the MOST DISGUSTING FOOD IN EXISTENCE!
there is nothing like having some laughs with the crew over such things.
>>
>>22559145
I'm crossing my fingers for the JUSTICE JUSTICE Fruit.

Oh god imagine

Rolled 4

After a few days you've made a well enough recovery to walk around. Your arm is still in a cast, but already on it's way to recovery. While you and some other marines are healing, you have ordered your crew to assist the town in rebuilding. It's times like this that remind you why you became a marine.

Hitoshi called in the Navy to pick up the Strongarm Pirates and take them to Impel Down. They are currently crammed in a closed off area in the mines until the Navy has arrived.

You have decided to eat the Devil Fruit, with the encouragement from your crew. Alfonso and Big Ocean thought it would be fun to make a big celebration out of it. You're not one for ceremonies, but your crew needs something fun to help get morale back up.

After feasting, singing, and dancing. You call everyone's attention as you remove the Devil Fruit from your jacket pocket. The atmosphere is still, and everyone waits with bated breath as you open your mouth to bite into the Devil Fruit...

Salty! Ugh! It's the most disgusting thing you've ever tasted! You dance around trying to swallow down the disgusting fruit, and everyone in your crew starts laughing at the ridiculous dance you're making. What power this fruit will give you, you don't know, but you're sure it will bring you one step closer to bringing justice to the Grand Line.
