"95%! Just a few more minutes!" Yellowman urges as Tzeentch explodes into blue radiance.

"YOUR SKULL IS MINE!" Khorne roars as he cuts into Oni-Akuma with his axe, almost leaving the fighter in two pieces. The raging warrior screams and falls into the whirling abyss below as a mangled Khorne bellows a victory roar.

"Damn it, the fat guy's regenerating!" Shinobu curses. "And we're going to have to take on Mr. Rage over there pretty fast!"

"You're one to talk about anger, Fujiwara."

"Shut up!"

Another series of three portals flare to life around the downed Nurgle as a familiar voice speaks over your communications channel.

"Why don't you leave that to me?"
>>
>>22442104
Who's voice is that?
>>
>>22442104

What other allies do we have to call on?
>>
>>22442104
I have come back, now, at the turning of the tide. Let us see the end of this long struggle.

At the familiar voice: "Who are you?"
>>
>>22442104

Looking at that patch, we really really need a campaign patch.

It's been a long ride.

The LiBrasta streaks out of the portal, already taking aim at the disgusting form Nurgle has taken. Two other machines follow behind, one taking to air, the other landing to ground with an earth-shattering impact.

"God of Plagues! I'll show you my sphere!" Crowe shouts, the LiBrasta's weapon charging. "VX! FULL BURST SHOOT!"

A blinding green-white pillar of energy slams into Nurgle from the LiBrasta as its two compatriots circle around.

"Block off his regeneration with your spheres! This is the Riot Wrench!"

The first companion, an orange robot with a gigantic wrench starts pounding into the god's form, flaring with green energy as it does so.

"I... I want that wrench..." Engineer says, gaping at the sight.

"Gunnery Carver... Answer to me," the last companion says, deploying a large, cruel looking gun that glows ominously. As power builds up, a female voice shouts. "THE GLORY STAR! FULL SHOOT!"

Another lance of energy strikes Nurgle and this time the god lets out a low groan and begins to shake as its form devours itself until nothing is left but a crater and the totaled skeleton of Great Mazinger.

CROWE

YOU'RE LATE. I'M DOCKING YOUR PAY
>>
>>22442301

Good to see you, Crowe!

We'd get you all caught up on this, but we're running on a tight schedule. The quick of it is: that big red guy is the last standing foe. We need to prevent him from getting to the device that all of our sciencey-types are huddled around.

Also, the skeleton wearing ornate robes and a crown is tentatively neutral, but still dangerous as all get-out.

>Arbalest covered in spores

Is Elaine in range for an Esuna? If we really want to get those spores out quick, we could try having her double-cast it with Lyla.
>>
>>22442301
>>22442311
Like fuck you're docking his pay! I'm giving him a raise!
>>
>>22442301
Make sure we're prepared for any hijinks from azalin's end- don't want him popping in to take control of the device at the last second. Maybe have Cheryl cast out her mind to try and find him?
>>
>>22442329
I'm not sure an Esuna will cover this. Can anyone cast a Holy Aura on him? That would probably make the fungi shrivel and die.
>>
Things are going well.
...Too well.
Like Khorne's all that's left, and Akuma took a lot of fight out of him.
Everyone make sure to take note of Azalin's position.
Maybe check to make sure there's not any illusions?
>>
>>22442301
"Hey Crowe. Was wondering when you'd finally show up. Next target is the angry red guy. Azalin is the lich over there, you remember him from the briefing way back on Raccoon City? He's neutral for now."

>>22442311
"But you're still getting Combat Pay and that bonus you were promised, so don't worry about it."

Can we move our perspective around so that we're close to Azalin?

"So, Azalin Rex. Was the fight entertaining enough?"
>>
>>22442359
Fuck, right, I don't think we've had anybody watching him.
>>
>>22442301
Avatar, quick, during this lull in the battle, fly down and use an Elixir to restore your Mana.

Cheryl, be ready to intercept anything that comes our way while the Avatar is refilling mana.

All forces, anyone got a visual on Azalin?

Aeshma, can you use See Invisibility?
>>
>>22442301
Crowe, Rand, Setsuko! Welcome to the party, better late then never! Crowe, shoulda grabbed the Red one, man. Glad to have you back, all the same.
>>
>>22442359

If Aeshma has a level 5 spell slot free, she could cast "True Seeing" on a nearby touchable ally or herself. That would take care of illusions and other magical deceptions, including invisibility/transmutation/polymorph and other such things.
>>
>>22442400
She has <See invisibility> as a spell like ability.
>>
>>22442383
Speaking of, where the hell did you end up, Crowe? And how did you get back here?
>>
>>22442430

True, but "True Seeing" also sees through magical disguises. It wouldn't hurt to do a quick sweep and see who doesn't belong.

"Elixer isn't nearly enough... I'm spent. Holding back Tzeentch's magical ability was... one of the most extreme trials I've faced. The best I can do is swing a sword right now."

>>22442383
"I see our fame precedes us!" Rand laughs.

"Darling, don't be so egotistical!"

"Oops! Sorry."

"We're here on behalf of Crowe," Setsuko says over the comms. "When he returned, he told us of your struggles, but we weren't able to lend a hand until now. We were busy with... other foes."

Yosuke, Teddy, and Yu spill out of the TV, behind them a number of robots.

"We got 'em working!" Yosuke cheers.

>Received Pharaoh Man, Skull Man, HK-50, the two Huitzils, 12 Securitrons, a Mobile Emitter Squad, a Caster MP5 and the remaining Staves of Negation

"Quite entertaining," Azalin says, rising. "And I have kept my promise. I sat and did nothing until you tore the fat one and the arrogant one to pieces. With the idiot beserker keeping your machines tied up... It's time to fulfill my wish."

"-OP!" the Abjurer finishes as Azalin now stands at the very edge of the Barrier of Life, surrounded by strange looking robots and screaming ghosts. At his side is a bizarre, heavily armored machine the height of a man that looks almost like a demonic turtle. Undead continue to march onto the field from two glowing gates to either side of him.

"I assume you remember the Army of the Dead you summoned?" Azalin says, a prismatic sphere shimmering around him. "I've been following you for a while, picking up pieces you discarded, studying you, learning from you. Biding my time. I do appreciate the help, but I have my own plans for such a device as this."
>>
>>22442611
"R-right!" Touya says. "It'll be ready next time!"

"That move was similar to the Larseilam, but different... I think I can calibrate the Brigandy to stop it, just give me a few seconds!" Katia says.

"Cursed lich... I won't be off my guard next time!" Agrias vows.
>>
>>22442629
Shit! Everybody, shoot him in the face! WITH EVERYTHING!
>>
>>22442629

We are going to need a giant ghost trap...

Egon, did you happen to have one on the ship?
>>
>>22442629
Abjurers, get those Staves of Negation. One of you negate Azalin and those gates.

Matthias, find a weak point on that turtle machine and destroy it.

Douglas, use an Anti-Magic Cartridge and fire it at Azalin.

Aeshma, Darius, Agrias, Lavian, Alicia, Sonya, Knights of KI Tactical Squad A attack Azalin. Aeshma, use a Holy Aura burst to provide protection to the squad as they advance.

KI Devastator Squads A & B, KI Tactical B & C, use your proton phasers set to wide-beam and keep the ghosts back.

Delta Greens, use your Mass Rifles.

Pharaoh Man, attack the robots. Skull Man, use your Skull Shield to protect the White Mages.

Star-Lord, use NeiShot at that turtle machine, I don't want to know what it can do before you destroy it.
>>
>>22442717
Wait, we were working on one! We took the Eiffel Tower AND Big Ben for it! Ah, but crap, that probably won't work. Still, we can ask Egon if it'd be possible to set it up fast enough for it to be of use.
>>
i swear him exploding is still 'just as planned' for Tzeentch, even if this outcome only leads to him winning a bet or getting an edge in his Saturday game of paradox poker with the Deceiver, Emprah, and Cegorach.
>>
Abjurer, surround his undead with <Wall of Fire>

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/w/wall-of-fire

Then, hit Azalin with spells in this order. Cone of Cold, Gust of Wind, Disintegrate, Pass Wall, Magic Missile, Dispel Magic.

Vitun, Cast <Pillar of Life> It shall heal living beings and harm undead.

Aeshma, Cast <Holy Word>
>>
>>22442629

I'm guessing that the protection that Azalin has up is "Prismatic Sphere":

http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Prismatic_Wall/Sphere,_Minor_%283.5e_Spell%29

Kiryu can attempt to erect an AT field to slice Azalin and/or that machine into two.

Also, Staves of Negation cast all around him.

Hurl Ebon Lance of Longinus at him to try to shatter the barrier? It may be legendary enough to ignore qualifications for the barrier.

Otherwise, we're going to need a whole lot of stuff cast at him real quick.
>>
>>22442748
Also, Paladin-Proctor Johan Kreuz, we ask that you and your men help defeat this lich. I assume the name Azalin Rex will give you some righteous fury to act on?
>>
>>22442777
Why not just staff of negation the barrier?

>>22442629
So Azalin, how did you get the ghost army, I thought they were all revived by the Silver Crystal. Also, Robots don't really seem like your thing.
>>
>>22442735
>>22442629
Have Aeshma use Holy Word instead of just Holy Aura.

"Dammit! Those souls were all supposed to have been laid to rest! How could you have gotten them without getting picked up by our sensors?"

Gotta keep the lich talking.
>>
>>22442629
"Okay, in order, how did we continuously miss that an immensely powerful Lich was essentially stalking us?
How did you get those ghosts?
And what even are your plans? I assume they're not anything we'd find reasonable."
>>
>>22442823
Prismatic Walls ignore Anti-magic.
You need to break it the correct way or it doesn't work.
>>
>>22442748
May as well have Vitun use a Bit of Luck to make the Pillar of Life extra effective, if there's going to be a roll involved.
>>
>>22442846
Ahem: The wall can be destroyed, color by color, in consecutive order, by various magical effects; however, the first color must be brought down before the second can be affected, and so on. A rod of cancellation or a mage’s disjunction spell destroys a prismatic wall, but an antimagic field fails to penetrate it. Dispel magic and greater dispel magic cannot dispel the wall or anything beyond it. Spell resistance is effective against a prismatic wall, but the caster level check must be repeated for each color present.
>>
>>22442748

Seconding this.

Everyone halt all attacks on Azalin until this spell order is cast. Protect the Abjurers in the meantime.
>>
>>22442902
Thirding. Flambe that smug skeletal bastard.
>>
>>22442886
Someone can attempt using the Rod of Negation to disable the spells, but I doubt it will work.

It's worth a try though.
>>
>>22442916

We can still probably keep his Undead army and whatever else at bay, though. Just no direct attacks on Azalin until that prismatic sphere goes down, since it has nasty effects that activate when someone attempts to directly assault it with the wrong stuff.

Also, Yellowman, what is the status of the device?

"I needed a new servant to understand this strange world of metal and wires you inhabit. Luckily, I found one while following in your wake. A strange child, but with an incredible talent that was only enhanced by her transition to undeath and the shedding of her mortal form," Azalin says, gesturing at the turtle-machine. "Say hello, Kaolla."

"Multiple mechanical targets detected. Initiating override codes," a dull, lifeless voice echoes from the machine, but one that you recognize as belonging to Kaolla-Su. Azalin's eyes flare as he laughs.

"You gave me more than even that... the poor child managed to access your probe droid during a rare moment of malfunction. Acting as an extension of my will, it wandered your ship and gathered what I needed," Azalin says. "...and like a ghost, when she was finished, Kaolla left, leaving you none the wiser. Also, guys, something to consider:

This may be a diplomacy event. Azalin's got enough cold bodies to throw at us until we're out of troops, and has a lot of countermeasures in place for any spells or stuff we can think of.

But perhaps there's a slim chance that we can convince him that it is in his best interests to let *us* use the device.

Surely you've read up on the purpose of the Transspace Guard. If we were truly formed by the metaverse for the sole purpose of combating SUEs (who may as well be chaos personified), then our policies reflect that. We fix canons that move too far out of what is established; though this mostly occurs when SUEs or other meta-factions arrive to plunder/rape it, we are also obligated to use full force to stop any attempts to better those canons. It is fortunate that most of our missions have been morally black-and-white and that most of our opponents have been either wholly dedicated to warping the universe to their own ends and/or idiot-gods who just wanted to be the main character in every story, or wanted to have horrible deviant sex fantasies with various characters.

But we imprison and even kill people who attempt to "fix" a canon for the better. Not to mention the Requisitions branch. If you've done your homework, Azalin, you know that hardly everything that went on in there could be called "soft". There are elements of the Transspace Guard that are dark and light, but it serves to keep the faction as Objectively Orderly and Neutral as possible. Our very purpose for existing is to ensure that all of the metaverse moves along smoothly in perfect lockstep, regardless of the evil or good that goes on in those canons. As long as the events in those canons are restricted to their native corners of the metaverse and don't spill over into anyone else's shit, that's perfectly fine. I think we can be very accommodating as far as returning you to your kingdom and restricting the last Dark Power to an Impenetrable Shithole Of Shittiness, since that overlaps with our original intent.

Unless you just mean to say that you apparently know more than an entity that saw fit to create an equal and opposite reaction designed explicitly to hunt down and kill SUEs.

In which case: Oh.

If it'll keep him talking, go ahead and shoot your mouth off at him to your heart's content.
But he's already in the middle of chanting a spell, so I doubt that you'll get a response from him.
Also, this close to victory? He won't be swayed by your words.

Yeah, I guess you're right. We should at least see if the orders we sent out will do anything, or if he'll at least deign to explain to us what his plans are.

Abjurer, surround his undead with <Wall of Fire>

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/w/wall-of-fire

Then, hit Azalin with spells in this order. Cone of Cold, Gust of Wind, Disintegrate, Pass Wall, Magic Missile, Daylight, Dispel Magic. One spell per Abjurer in order to speed this up.

Vitun, Cast <Pillar of Life> It shall heal living beings and harm undead. Use Bit of Luck.

Aeshma, Cast <Holy Word>

Matthias, find a weak point on that turtle machine and destroy it.

Douglas, use Fireball Cartridges on the approaching undead.

KI Devastator Squads A & B, KI Tactical B & C, use your proton phasers set to wide-beam and keep the ghosts back.

Then follow this:

Suffice to say I Wanna Be The Writefag, but I'm lazy about it. So it's kind of a personal jab at myself. If I post somewhere else I drop the name because I haven't done anything to earn it and don't wanna be one of *those* guys; y'know?

Maybe one day... Plus the fact that I'd like to get *some* kind of tabletop experience but lol if I can find a game anywhere of any sort due to my fucked up work schedule. Kinda hard to come up with writefaggotry pertaining to something like D&D or Warhammer or whatever if I don't have any hands-on experience; I would think.

Though I must admit, I've tossed around an idea about a Soroitas befriending a Vulpix... Why? Because I find the idea of a Sister with an adorable little fluffy flamethrower to be an entertaining mental image. Maybe with a little Fleur-de-lis on the Vulpix's collar...

Here is some advice from the venerable Glen Cook:

"Write. Don't talk about writing. Don't tell me about your wonderful story ideas. Don't give me a bunch of "somedays." Plant your ass and scribble, type, keyboard. If you have any talent at all, it will leak out despite your failure to pay attention in English. And if you didn't pay attention, learn. A carpenter needs to know how to use a hammer, level, saw, and so forth. You need to know how to use the tools of writing. Because, no, the editor won't fix it up. S/he will just chunk your thing in the shit heap and go on to somebody who can put together an English sentence with an appropriate sprinkle of punctuation marks."

"THE FIGHT ISN'T OVER YET!" Khorne bellows as he charges the gathering of mecha between it and the Device. God Gundam catches the brunt of the attack on its chest and falls back, spewing sparks and fire.

"Grrrrr... Not yet..." Domon growls.

"Domon, get out of here, you'll make Rain worry!" Sara scolds as Dancouga raises its sword.

"Give us the likeness of love's soul..." Shinobu whispers as a portal opens and a massive beam of light bursts through to envelop the blade. "...to purge the evil dimension!"

Final Dancouga raises the blade over its head, now a towering pillar of reddish purple light.

"DANCOUKOUGAKEN!" the crew shouts in unison. "YATTE YARUZE!"

The pillar falls, cleaving into Khorne and slicing off a wing as the Lord of Rage shakes with pain and anger. A metal fist slams into his gut before returning to Mazinkaiser, the robot flying up to support his ally.

"God or demon, Mazinkaiser will take you on!" Kouji shouts. "You won't take a single step forward!"

Khorne roars and charges as the giant robots that remain fly to meet him.

Azalin only laughes as the Abjurers strip away his magical protection, the Barrier of Life shivering at the lich's touch. A breach in the barrier slowly begins to grow, while a chain of fireballs, delayed in blasting rip across the ranks of the Space Marines, slaying some, wounding all.
>Lose 9 Tactical Marines.

A pillar of divine light burns away a group of wraiths as beams of energy play across the undead horde that surges towards you. Aeshma manages to destroy a group of undead that closes in on her with the Holy Word, while fireballs explode among the corporeal undead thanks to Douglas. Despite an impressive bombardment and the hissing holy rain burning into their flesh, the undead manage to close. More and more of their fellows pour from the Gates Azalin set up as your troops hold the line against abominations ranging from stitched-together multi-limbed corpses, to giant flaming skeletons, to zombified Tekkamen and Black Ops bioweapons.

A group of slavering ghouls hop towards the melee team and Darius is there before they can reach the others. Ringil sings through the air, slicing apart ghoul after ghoul, zombie after zombie, before suddenly he cries out in pain. A heavily armored robot appears from the air to his side, shoving an unholy blade into his side. Darius yells a battle cry and attempts to press the fight, but the robot matches him move for move, accurately predicting each of his attacks and countering with exactly the right technique. Battle-wounds, the EBOC hacking, and the apparent prescience of the robot take their toll, and the unholy blade slides through his last heart.

Darius utters a long sigh as he collapses, Ringil clattering from his hand, the others already fighting for their lives against similar robots.

Matthias fires and swears as the round plinks off the heavy shell.

"Zat shell is too heavily armored! Something incredibly good at piercing vil be needed to crack it!" he reports.

Kiryu offers heavy fire support, his Triple Heavy Masers burning apart a dracolich arriving through the gate before it can take to the fight.

"Worker Eight you ain't!" Mustadio shouts, firing his phaser at the robot. The beam burns a small hole through the Robot Master, and Mustadio pays for the wound in blood, a metal disc humming through the air to slash open his stomach. The Engineer grunts in pain and staggers back but remains standing, one hand on his pistol, one on his gut. Two UNIT troopers are already pulled Dr. Cossack to safety while the rest fire. Metal Man is forced to go on the defensive, leaping around the area with impossible speed to dodge the shots while his homing blades cut into the UNIT ranks.

The Techno Wizards call down Firestorms, but a barrier of pure force springs up around Azalin, deflecting both the fire and Star-Lord's shot. The Psions immediately attempt to use the rods, but one by one their attempts fail... Until they reach the last remaining Auror.

When the eve of battle was dire
his footsteps on the field were heard;
he left in a blaze of scorching fire
off to battles long without a word.

From Cadia to Terra of yore,
from northern waste to southern hill,
through mine-field and great war
and darkening skies he walked at will.

With Psionics and Mages, Elves and Men,
with mortal and immortal folk,
with bird on bough and beast in den,
in their own secret tongues he spoke.

A deadly sword, a helping hand,
a spirit that refused to bend,
a trumpet-voice, a burning brand,
a weary warrior on the road.

A lord of wisdom throned he sat,
swift in anger, quick to laugh;
he suffered great in combat
and many fought on his behalf

He stood upon the field alone
and Chaos and Ruin both defied;
his sword was broken on the stone,
in Transpace his wisdom died.

To our friend Darius, he will never truly die for his brave soul shall be forever remembered.

"Uh... Uh... SHIT!" Fumbles swears as he repeatedly tries to use the staff like a wand. Something strange happens, though. The staff thrums with power and Fumbles utters a shriek of panic as electricity discharges all around him. Azalin is struck by the beam, convulses, and turns, glaring. His eyes glow for a moment as he looks at Fumbles.

"What?" he hisses. "What insanity is this? A mage imbued with anti-magic?!"

"Most of his defenses are down," the Avatar murmurs, fighting to keep on his feet. "...but beware his minions!"

The Nod Avatar stirs to life as Yamada races to it, the pilot promptly being slain by the machine's laser.

"Remote control enabled," Kaolla Su whispers from within her metal shell. "Engaging."

Char races for the device and the Farseers while your forces continue to struggle to hold off the ever increasing hordes of undead.

"I remember what my life was like back when it was normal!" Yosuke shouts, throwing up a card and summoning his Persona while ducking under the axe of a Death Knight.

"No you don't, you wouldn't know normal if it bit you in the face!" Chie counters, directing her Persona to Rampage across a group of skeletons.

"WHAT'S TRYING TO BITE ME IN THE FACE ISN'T NORMAL!!!" Yosuke screams, his Persona barely saving him from a spear by leaping into the air and driving his attacker into the ground with a super heavy kick.

As the hordes of undead press your troops harder and harder the ground explodes just in front of your troops as a small building slowly emerges from the ground, a bright sign proclaiming a single word for all to see.

"SHOP!"

"Well, this isn't exactly what I was expecting to find!" Sylph says, smiling despite the carnage as she exits the door. Right behind her are two hulking soldiers armed to the teeth.

"Heh. Isn't it always this way?" one says, hefting an assault rifle.

"It's more fun for us anyhow," the other says, bringing up a shotgun. Two more figures exit the SHOP, a black and white haired man with a huge pistol and several swords, and a fox-eared blonde in a Chinese dress.

"...this will do. You'll get paid when we get back," the man says to Sylph.

"Glad to hear it! Oh, there are some of my customers now! Hello!" Sylph calls, seemingly oblivious to the violence around her. Until she pulls a shield from nowhere to block a hail of barbed arrows.

"Bruce and Regina told us about your group. We got what you sent," the black haired man says, crossing his arms. "I'm not sure what's going on here, but I can assume the undead are the enemy, right? They always are."

"Hey! Some of our friends might resent that remark..." the fox-eared woman shouts back. "...or resemble it, but Reiji, enough talk!"

"Right. Everyone out! Time to fight!" the black haired man shouts as people begin flooding from the entrance of the SHOP and into battle...

>>
>>22446645
Hey, Rock. I want your autograph when we're done with this!

Vitun, Grab Cheryl and use <Dimensional Hop> to get up here. It's short range so it should be fine.
>>
>>22447802
Are you sure that'll be safe?
Have Vitun use a Bit of Luck just to be sure.

Marc can pick up the Avatar and fly up to the Control Room as well, with the X-COM Commando Squad providing cover.

Elaine, Raise2 on Darius. His service to the Emperor and the Guard aren't done yet.

Azalin didn't take down the Barrier of Life, only made a small hole in it; we can't snipe him.
But that doesn't mean we're completely out of options.
Douglas, grab up the Caster MP5 and start hosing down Azalin's minions.

Aeshma can launch the Ebon Lance at Su, that can hopefully create an opening for Mouse, Isel, and the Hacker Team to take control of the mechanical forces back, and maybe even counter-hack her network control.

Data, set your phaser to maximum and vaporize the stairs going up to the control room. That should slow down Azalin. Then assist the Hacker Team.

Techno-Wizards, cast Firestorm again, center them on Azalin's Gates; that should keep his reinforcements busy.

Pennysworth, hit Azalin with another negation burst; you get this to work and you can keep the staff as a wand.
>>
>>22448987
We should add on a bit to this. Spy give a few sappers to Kanako so the both of you can get close and sap Su's ass
>>
>>22451593
Yes, having Spy attempt to Sap Turtle-Su sounds good.

Pyro, Demo, Soldier, and Heavy can help hold the line, with Medic providing healing.

Scout should use his speed and follow Azalin in and do his best to slow him down in any way possible.

Engineer should try to erect a Sentry to slow down Azalin, though I'm not sure how well it'll work.
>>
>>22448987

We could also have Egon use his Proton Pack to try to ghost trap Azalin, with any other phaser-equipped personnel using the proton setting to try to assist. It's especially suited to incapacitating ghosts and undead, so it might be worth trying.
>>
The end is nigh...

WHAT WILL WE DO AFTER?!
>>
>>22453123
Maybe have Scout pick up a vial of Aglaophotis-C as a final fuck-you to Azalin? Also grab someone's canteen of Holy Water on the way, and use his bat to bat the canteen at Azalin's head.
BLU (minus Engineer and Spy) can give Scout, Cheryl, Avatar, and Marc the covering fire they need to get past the mooks and get into the breach made by Azalin.

Ryu should get in there and try to slow down Azalin, as well.

"He's casting Time-" an Abjurer begins to shout, as Azalin begins chanting.

"STOP!" Touya shouts as the Bellezeute Brigandy emits a wave of Orgone energy over the battlefield. Azalin curses as his spell is countered, immediately beginning another.

"Larseilam Canceller activation successful, but it's on cooldown... If he tries it again..." Katia reports.

"Leave it to me and Gurthang. Time Cleaver, show us your power!" Agrias says, slashing apart a robot that strays too close as she raises the blade on high. Lightning crackles in the sky above as a bolt streaks down from the dark clouds to strike Gurthang. Agrias brings the sword down just as Azalin speaks the final words of his next spell, transforming the lightning bolt into a wave of energy that slams into the lich. Azalin staggers back, magically energy dispersing around him as his spell fails.

"Come on, Cheryl. Take my hand," Vitun says, reaching out to the young psion.

"Such a gentleman," Cheryl chuckles as she takes the hand and the two vanish, reappearing at the entrance to the Control Chamber.

"Go! Now!" Vitun gestures, drawing his mace. "We'll hold him here!"

Data fires his phaser, destroying the walkway up.

"That should slow him down," Data nods. Azalin finishes a new spell and disappears in a flash of light to reappear behind Vitun. The android grimaces. "...or not."

Vitun swings his mace, but the weapon rebounds off an invisible barrier around the lich. Azalin, for his part, ignores the cleric and pursues Cheryl. For a few moments your perception slows, is distorted, and then a katana splits into Azalin's side.

"You aren't the only one able to stop time," Ryu growls as he thrusts the Dragon Sword into the lich's side. Azalin just screams a word of power and grabs the ninja by the throat. Ryu struggles, then convulses as his life leaves him a withered corpse which Azalin tosses aside.

Just a repost of the wording of the wish or whatever:

"Restore all casualties and damaged or destroyed equipment of Taskforce 38, TSAB, Void Engineers and Grand Crusade as well as repairing the fabric of reality damaged by the STOB to it's normal condition. Also, repair all canons damaged by the detonation and return them to their original state. Seal the Orz in their Native Canon and remove all knowledge of the meta from them and their cross dimensional counterpart. Seal the Warp Gods in their original canon permanently. Create an empty copy of the Starcraft Canon for the Protoss of Zerg Quest to inhabit."

>Also, repair all canons damaged by the detonation and return them to their original state.

There was some concern that "Original" might mean a reset button for those canons, and it might be better to reword it as "Normal". But since the device is part mental and somatic, it may get the gist of what we mean.

Should we just add 'and other allies' to the list?
Like if any of the native inhabitants of the SRW canon died helping us, or those goddesses who were Lind's reinforcements?
Or would that be covered repairing the fabric of reality
>>

I dunno. This is the wish that causes the minimum amount of harm while restoring the good guys as much as possible. Since we're not exactly clear on what canon is, we might try to do so.... but the repercussions could be dire.

Also, I noticed that Grand Crusade should be Great Crusade. Should probably fix that.

The Ebon Lance sails through the air once more, piercing deeply into the mechanical turtle shell as Kaolla emits an electronic shriek over your comms that pains you to hear. The Lance changes shape, wicked barbs pushing apart the sides of the shell where it made a breach, widening the vulnerable spot.

"Come on, Avvie, we've got a date with destiny!" Marc says, scooping up the exhausted demigod.

"She paying for dinner?" the Avatar groggily jokes as the two fly up.

BLU team attempts to fight past the undead horde, but all that is rendered moot when Data torches the stairs. Then Kaolla-Su's shell suddenly sparks with electricity and another shriek echoes over your comm channels as your Robot Masters and the Nod Avatar slump over, their rampages paused.

"Not what I expected, but I'll take it," the BLU Spy says, uncloaking and dashing away from the machine while Azalin's undead minions close in on him.

Across the battlefield your troops struggle to hold off the undead hordes and the robot assassins mixed in with them. Armed with the knowledge of your combined troops and the armaments to use that knowledge effectively, the robots are by far the more dangerous. Several of your troops have already fallen, and as the attack on the Control Chamber unfolds, your White Mages fall under concentrated attack, the Redemption Platoon struggling to maintain a barrier around the healers.

Other way around. It's Grand Crusade, not Great Crusade. Somewhere along the line the two terms got mixed up and I started saying it too and yeah...

Grand Crusade.

>>22459250

If Kiryu isn't busy, he could jet back to the remaining troops and erect an AT field to shield them from the worst of the Robot Assasins' attacks. AT fields are only one-way in terms of firing, right? If so he could still keep firing while shielding the remaining troops.

In this case, the healers and the triage area (including where the Redemption Platoon members are) might be the most concentrated area to fall back to and erect the AT field. Unless Kiryu can do delicate tasks like picking up the remaining survivors on the field before falling back.

"Got it, but not enough punch!" Matthias complains as his fireball detonates in the breach, wrecking a portion of the machine but failing to shut it down.

Then Megaman's Shining Laser bores through the opening and out the back, causing the shell to explode open in a spray of fluid, mechanical and electronic parts. A puddle of slick translucent fluid leaks onto the ground as the pale, mangled corpse of a young teenage girl slides from the interior of the device to collapse there.

"...it ...it was a girl?!" Megaman exclaims, taken aback by the sight.

The flow of reinforcements from the Gates is substantially slowed as roaring infernos suddenly cover each one, incinerating the undead as they come through and giving your troops and allies valuable respite.

Your troops begin falling back to better shield the White Mages, firing as they go. The Prawns pull back the fallen Darius and his sword while their brethren fire lines of lightning and missiles into the onrushing undead. Proton phasers keep the ghosts at bay while conventional arms blast apart the more solid enemies. Your White Mages are quaffing potions and casting as fast as they can, the stock of supplies the kids brought being swiftly depleted from the sheer demand of healing.

A rotting giant roars, slamming a giant club against Heat's energy shield, the super-soldier forced to her knees by the impact as she struggles to maintain the barrier. The giant raises its club again and suddenly its head explodes. Heat breathes a sigh of relief and takes a moment to wave to Star-Lord, who waves back, then resumes firing, blasting apart a bone golem at the center of a cluster of slime zombies. The ground shakes as a platoon of Skeleton Warriors flies apart under the destructive power of Flare.

"Outta juice!" Seifer shouts, drawing Hyperion. "Now it's time for the real fun!"

"Gurthang, lend me your power!" Agrias cries as she brings the sword around again, sending a rippling wave of white light into the undead ranks that causes what it hits to fall to ash immediately.

The Securitrons had long been destroyed by your forces, but the Robot Master swiftly re-activate, rejoining your side of the fight. Mouse and the Deckers release their virus and some of the enemy robots shut down, though most remain. However, there is a notable drop in their response time and combat ability. Your troops begin to regain ground at a fast rate.

Then the cases of BPM-115 are broken out.

"Some form of Energy Drain... I can, but I'll have to immediately begin casting additional spells or he'll just die again," Vitun states.

"Close enough," Finalon wheezes.

The Shadowrunners down the potions and immediately begin to sprout purple fur and immense muscle. With a howl of joy, they leap into combat, throwing around undead of all sorts like they were tinker-toys. They smash through black-plate, bone, and carapace alike with huge meaty fists while arrows, wraith-touch, and unholy blades simply rebound off their flesh. At this display, your forces begin to press the enemy back towards the fiery Gates from which they originated.

In the sky above, Khorne lets out a baleful howl as a massive Orgone Spear, a Final Dancouhou, a Meiou Attack, and a Fire Blaster catch him in the crossfire. Unable to maintain his physical coherency after such a prolonged and devastating assault, the Blood God's form falls apart.

Marc and the Avatar reach the entrance to the Control Chamber as Cheryl bursts into its inner core. Mouse and the other technicians wave.

"Shoulda stayed in your Castlevania-clone prison plane!" Mouse shouts, chucking his canteen at Azalin after unscrewing the cap. Azalin shrieks, his spell ruined as the holy water burns him. The gem in his hand drops to the floor and he screams a spell at Mouse. Mouse vanishes with a puff of smoke, a tiny field mouse crawling around in the pile of gear where he was a moment before. The Sandmen shout and rush to attack the lich with their own canteen, but the undead overpowers them, tossing them aside and draining their lives with a touch as he makes his way towards the recovering Cheryl.

"Now, girl..." Azalin hisses. "It's over."

"Override code..." Cossack wheezes. "...Kalinka."

"Target locked," a cold, mechanical voice states as twin metal discs fly from the darkness. One rebounds off of a shield of force, but the second shears into Azalin's side. Metal Man mk. II advances from the shadows and leaps towards Azalin, Cheryl finally making it to the center of the chamber.

Also repair the damage done to the fabric of the Meta, and restore Canons to their normal state.
Seal the Orz back in their native Canons and remove all knowledge of the Meta and Canons, as well as agencies and entities they have encountered after breaching the Meta, from both them and their higher dimensional counterpart.
Seal the Chaos Gods back in their original Canon, repair the dimensional damage caused by the Zerg Swarm's actions in the Zerg Quest Canon.
Create a copy of the CnC Canon that our Sector HQ is currently in, and restore the original inhabitants to the copy.
Provide Soulstones and a restoration of vitality to the Eldar of the Craftworld from which the Farseers originate.

When you regain consciousness, you are no longer bodiless or a merged entity. You are in what you recognize as the medical bay of your old Sector Headquarters, fully repaired, restored, and staffed. As if no damage had even befallen it.

"You're awake!" the cheerful voice of Lt. Col. Eva says as all of you stir in your hospital beds. She smiles. "They told me you'd be coming around soon, but I didn't believe it'd be this fast."

Eva walks over and activates a display, easily visible from your beds. It shows the familiar sight of a time-space stability gauge. Completely normal.

"We don't know what you managed to do out there, but all abnormal readings suddenly cut out a few minutes ago," Eva says, clicking a remote. The display now shows a battered fleet. Task Force 38, minus the Protoss, and minus the EVE fleet among others. "Your ships are being repaired now. According to the data I've got, not a single loss. Quite a miracle you pulled off!"

Eva clicks the remote again and the display slides shut. She turns to you. "Are you feeling all right? If you can make it, you should probably be at the meeting."
>>
>>22461944
...What if we
"Restore all casualties and damaged or destroyed equipment of Taskforce 38, TSAB, Void Engineers, Shin-Ra and Grand Crusade as well as repairing the fabric of reality damaged by the STOB to it's normal condition. Repair all canons damaged by the detonation, New Chaos, and SUES and return them to their normal state. Cure all forces tainted by Chaos and return them to their normal state.

Seal the Orz in their Native Canon and remove all knowledge of the meta from them and their cross dimensional counterpart. Seal the Warp Gods in their original canon. Seal the Zerg of Zerg Quest in their canon until such a date arrives when Cerebrate Anon decides to continue his quest. Create an empty copy of the Starcraft Canon for the Protoss of Zerg Quest to inhabit. Move all equipment and forces stationed in C&C canon to the copy of the Starcraft Canon. Restore the Eldar from the home canon of the Farseers of Taskforce 38 and move them to the Copy Canon UNLESS that would cause permanent distortion to their native canon, in which case instead Provide Soulstones and a restoration of vitality to the Eldar of the Craftworld from which the Farseers originate."

>>

Meeting. Yes. Let's go there. Now.

Lt. Col. Eva, we do not mean to stir up bad memories... but can you tell us briefly about what has transpired in this sector?
>>
>>22462115
Well, things seem to have worked. Thus far at least.
We need a list of people to see whether everyone was restored.
>>
The only thing I would add is adjust this new universe so that using the STOB again doesn't cause things to start all over again.
>>
>>22462115

>>
>>22462115
"Yes, let's go. Lt. Colonel, what's the date?"
>>
>>22462115

Also, date, time, spatial position, and I need a list of every active asset TF38 had, both before and after the anomalous readings cut out, preferably from the AUH's telemetry.
>>
>>22462115
>minus the EVE fleet

They weren't counted as part of the Taskforce?

Oh Hell.
>>
>>22462115
DAMMIT! UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES!
Time got wound back and we've probably lost most of our task force because we were retconned to have never acquired them in the first place.
>>
>>22462215

It could also be as simple as the Protoss deciding not to stick around and re-colonize their own corner of the Metaverse.
>>
>>22462215

>>
>>22462250

We're missing more than just the Protoss and the EVE Fleets.
>>
>>22462258

That's a simply check, we just need to send a meta-capable ship to the nearest canon where we can easily contact our personnel, and see if they're there with their gear and awaiting pickup.

We should do this ASAP, in case some of our troops are in dangerous situations.
>>
Dammit, we should worded it as "Resurrect all casualties and repair all ships, with resurrected personnel being on their respective ships and ships at their last home port."

Eva names a date a week after your assault on Kane began.

"Protoss? Armorfleet? I don't understand?" Eva asks, blinking. "High Command has called a meeting to decide what's to be done about the Firemen going rogue. That, and also to discuss the establishment of an alliance or formal relations with the Grand Crusade now that you've managed to make peaceful contact with them. With the defection of the Fireman, the Black Ops loyalists need to be reorganized as well. From what I've heard, the entire Guard might be undergoing a reorganization. Between this war showing us our limits and some of the revelations breaking out from investigations into reality-science formerly banned, they're talking about rebuilding from the ground up. Project Codename: Editors or something. It's above my pay-grade."

She pauses.

"There's also talk that most of our maps and coordinates aren't matching up anymore. Like someone reshuffled the location of each world we had cataloged. Hopefully it's just leftover information warfare from the Firemen."
>>
>>22462355

Yellowman mentioned that the device used part semantics and part mental intent. I hope that OP doesn't try to catch us with a monkey paw wish.

At any rate, let's just wait until the rest unfolds.
>>
>>22462359
"Damnit. We'll discuss all this at the meeting, I guess. Please, Lt. Colonel, lead the way."
>>
>>22462359
...I think our memories are a bit fuzzy.
If we made peaceful contact with the Grand Crusade, what were we all doing in hospital beds?
>>
>>22462359
Seems we did reset things quite thoroughly then.

We need a list of assets currently assigned to TF38 as soon as possible.
It's possible that casualties we restored may not even remember the events they've been through if we have reset things this extensively.
>>
>>22462359

Eva, could you list the assets that Task Force 38 currently held after we attacked Kane? Where's Section Manager Holtz, is he OK? Or are you going to tell me that there was never a Holtz and that there's someone else in charge of this sector?
>>
>>22462359

... Fuck.

Eva, we need an immediate manifest of all personnel, robots, ships, mecha, and vehicles TF38 has or had in it's current possession, and it's last known combat action and who it was against.
>>
>>22462359
"Yeah, it's not leftover info-warfare. We'll talk to Holtz about it."
Let's get to this meeting.

"Someone on your medical team reported you lost consciousness shortly after shutting down that strange machine Kane was planning to activate," Eva responds. "Your brains got scrambled and needed time to re-sort themselves or the like. I wish I could tell you the exact terms, but I'm no doctor and he used a lot of words that didn't make sense to me. What does 'wibbly-wobbly' even mean?"

>>
>>22462668

>>
>>22462632
"Consider yourself lucky, or unlucky, to have met the famous Doctor of Gallifrey.
"I'm surprised they didn't make you watch the Dr. Who box set as part of your training; the Timelords of Gallifrey are a force to be reckoned with. Or at least, they were, until the Doctor killed them all."
>>
>>22462634
"Ravel Puzzlewell? Why would... Well, I'm sure we can find him. Commander Celeste and Paladin-Proctor Kreuz are here too. After all you did for their organizations, I'm sure they'll be glad to help us find a cranky drunk," Eva says, pointing to a stack of neatly folded uniforms. "I'll let you get changed and will be waiting outside. Hurry if you can, but don't push it if you feel unwell."
>>
>>22462590
"Wait, was Holtz traveling with us for some reason? Or did he just disappear out of HQ? God I hate time travel."
>>
>>22462748

Well, better not put this off any further.

Let's get to that meeting.
>>
>>22462748
Get changed, let's go.
Are any of our commlinks working?
"ANON, what is the status of the following ships: TGS Valiance, TGS Relentless, TGS Hercules, TGS Spirit of Triumph?"
>>
>>22462748
Well, let's get this over with I suppose.
At least we did some cool stuff in this timeline.
>>
>>22462748
"Thanks. Man, TSAB and the Grand Crusade are here on a friendly visit. Things are really changing."
>>
Now here's a question, do we go into the meeting assuming that TSAB and the grand crusade remember what we do?
>>
>>22462909

We can probably ask them for an accounting of what happened. They'll probably be accommodating, given that our brains were apparently scrambled for a week or so.
>>
>>22462909
No, because we don't know what's happened in this timeline.

It'd help if we could get a quick summary from Cheryl and the Avatar of what they changed in the timeline.

I wonder if Cheryl depowered herself and is living a normal life back on her world.
>>
>>22462796

What about our research? The SUE cure? The paradox cannon? The transpace lances?
>>
>>22462967

That is something to think about. We were probably part of that wish, but Cheryl was also directly interfaced with the thing. She acted as a proxy for us, but she probably had power over the device as well, and probably modified any parts of the wish that may have been too selfish or otherwise too reality-altering or damaging.

If that is indeed true, we'll just have to trust in her judgment.

And hope that OP comes up with some closing Vignettes.
>>
>>22462985
I very much hope we kept all that. We'll need it to fight the Firemen.

Sunlight streamed into the old house. Birds sang outside, occasionally muffled by the pass of a car. The clouds were white and fluffy, with no hint of storms or mist.

"Well, everything's back to normal, now, or as close as I could get that damn hunk of junk to make it," Cheryl sighed, stretching. She was standing in front of a dresser in a messy room with clothes, books, and odds and ends scattered around.

"Everyone made it out OK?" the Avatar asked. The Titan of Ether was in a simple polo-shirt and jeans now, leaning against a window. "I tried to find any trace of that Dark Power Azalin mentioned. Confirmed Azalin's demise, but..."

"It's OK. Can't get everything," Cheryl sighs. "Yeah, everyone's OK. Everyone's home... or most of them, anyway."

"And every prisoner freed was caught, and every abomination made, destroyed," the Avatar laughs. "Not bad for half a year's work." Cheryl smiled.

"I guess not. And it's time for a loooong vacation," she admitted, finally pulling a small machine and headphones from a drawer. "Ah, found it! How are the Protoss holding up?"

"Just checked on them. I don't think it'd be possible for them to be happier. They have a new home thanks to that machine, and a far brighter future," the Avatar says. He pauses. "I think we've accounted for most of the changes."

"Well..." Cheryl pauses. "I did... add... one teensy little thing."

"Oh?" the Avatar asked.

“Cheryl!" a voice from downstairs called. "The car's all packed, you ready?”

“Just a minute, dad!” Cheryl shouts back over her shoulder. A small smile spread over the Avatar's face.

“...I think the Guard can make an exception. Just this once. Want me to drop them a line?" he asks. He tilts his head as Cheryl turns on the headphones. “Is that Tears for Fears?”

“Shut up. It's a good song.”

"And it doesn't help to have a mountain of Gil and magic armor when planning a vacation!" Lavian puts in. "Hey Elaine, what happened to your entourage?"

"They know where I am," Elaine said, smiling. "I asked for a little 'me-time'. They'll be serving with the Guard for a while yet."

"And Gurthang cleaved through the barrier of worlds to return to its resting place," Agrias nodded. "Everything back in its place."

"Agrias, you look almost lost!" Lyla chuckles. "Not used to not having a mission?"

"I... uh... that is to say..." Agrias sputters.

"Looks that way," Mustadio grinned. "Come on, there's a feast with our names on it in that town ahead. Then we track down Ramza and everyone else and have a huge party for the hell of it."

"Now that's a mission I can get behind!" Alicia says, spurring her Chocobo forward. A cheer went up from the White Mages behind her.

"Our vision clears. The danger is passed," the first Farseer proclaimed.

"Another will take its place in time," another stated. "But for now... we are safe."

"A place beyond this world has been created for our people," a third said. "When the time comes, we will seek it."

"But for now, we stay and help our brethren... perhaps even our unlikely allies," the fourth said, conjuring a glimmering sphere that held within it an image of a Space Marine leading his battle brothers to victory over a Necron strike force. "With the deities of Chaos recovering from their wounds, we have a respite. And time will tell if Captain Fortes manages to carry with him the wisdom earned from this campaign."

"Time will tell," the Farseers echoed.

....Captain Darius Fortes, the Knights Inductor Chapter of Space Marines, and the Farseers!

"Never you mind that!" Mouse scolded. "...wait, I need you to help me sort it. Yes, mind that!"

"I don't see vhy I have to help you vith zis... project," Matthias said, crossing his arms.

"Because with a few strokes of my fingers, I can rewrite your file to state in big glaring letters your affiliation with the Nazi Party," Mouse says with a lazy grin. Matthias gave an annoyed growl.

"Zere vasn't even a Germany left on my planet! Just megacorporations, I'm from the Dystopia, remember?!" Matthias growled. "Not mein fault my parents had... odd enthusiasms."

"Explain that to the committee if you don't help me get this stuff ready for shipment," Mouse says, the grin widening. "I need everything not classified into one pile and everything classified into another. Then the editing begins. Then we get paid."

"I don't understand how Spike never gave into ze urge to SHOOT YOU," Matthias growled, beginning to pick up the stacks of discs and sort them.

"Who's there?" the woman demanded, hand on a pistol as she stood up from her desk. She hadn't left the window open, and she was positive the colony's maintenance staff had already gone to bed.

"...Irene..." the voice came. The woman's grip on the pistol immediately slackened.

"...R...Ryu?" she murmured.

"Is it... It IS you..." the ninja asked, stepping forward from the shadows. "I... I've been trying to find you for so long..."

While generally well-received amongst most viewers after heavy editing, the creators of the series never revealed their identities. Legends say that shortly after the release, the producers were forced to flee from known space from a hammer-wielding wraith dressed in white rags, accompanied by a host of twenty banshees wielding blades of light.

"Our contract with the Guard is up," the priest said. "...but resting on our laurels isn't our style. And Desna still has a few tasks for us."

"You... want me to come with you?" Gondegal asked, stroking an ethereal beard. "I suppose I might. Provide me with a body, and another romp around the Prime might not be such a bad thing."

A loud scream split the air as the farmer looked up with wide eyes. A humanoid figure streaked through the air to slam into the ground just a few feet away, forming a large impact crater. The farmer grabbed his pitchfork and ran towards the crater, stopping with a start as he saw a balding man in a rumpled and torn suit shakily stand up within.

"Reraise magic..." he murmured, reaching into his coat for a flask and unscrewing the top with trembling fingers. "Gotta... gotta love it."

"Sir? Sir... uh... who are you and what... how'd you survive that?" the farmer asked, looking over the man. "Are you... Are you OK?"

The suited man turned and fixed him with a glare.

“My name...” he said, with great deliberation. “...is Sector Manager Garret Holtz. And I want you to know, from the bottom of my heart... that no matter how bad your day is, it cannot begin to compare to mine."

Battered, but not yet defeated, they wait for word.....

"Behold those who balk at the burden of their duty and continue to rule! The crossover war is proof enough that mankind needs braver guardians to safeguard what is true and real! Without doubt, the fabric of reality that is Earth is threatened by many evils that hide. To destroy all those who threaten our blue Earth, to destroy all those who denied us our reality...We serve as the greatest and best hope for humanity. We are the defense against all that threatens the one true Earth. WE WILL NEVER GIVE UP! WE WILL BURN ALL THEY HOLD DEAR! THE FIREMEN SHALL RISE!"
