You are Michael Clairmont, Ex-Alliance Sentinel, madman, and one of the butchers of Torfan, this is your story.

"When you put it like that, how could we possibly refuse? Very well then, we shall dispense some violence, if it means the chance to meet the lady who tends to this beautiful ship close up and.. personal." you say over the comm.

Switch rolls his eyes, and even with the helmet on you can nearly feel Rin do the same.
Amazing how that crosses evolutionary boundaries.

"Looking forward to it, we'll send down a team to help out, I have so many questions..." she says as the comm goes off-line.

Crew List
Michael Clairmont – PC, Sentinel, multiple personalities and identities, known as Bob Drake by most of the crew with the exception of Oolot and Switch. Skilled with most weapons from years in the Alliance.
Rox Oolot- Krogan Solider a member of Clan Rox, famous for having many well-known athletes and media-personalities throughout the galaxy. Extremely large even for a Krogan his experience in battle dwarfs that of the rest of the crew several times over.
“Switch”- Salarian Engineer, nervous, energetic, and a whiz when it comes to programming, conceptual design, and using the latest tech. His experience in software wetwork left him many useful traits, while not as handy in a firefight he’s got may skills to help in a pinch and can pilot damn near anything thanks to his love for hyper-realistic sims.
Sushoo- Hanar Master Chef and Hand-to-Hand combat expert, Sushoo is the overly polite enigma of the crew. One thing is for sure, you haven’t spent a night hungry since he can came aboard.
Luke Grey- Ex Blue Sun Merc, you took him hostage initially but honestly working for you is better than the Suns ever was, his backstory bored you a bit so you don’t remember much, something, something family…whatever
Rin Z'tela nar Rayya- Quarian Mechanic, the quiet genius of the crew, has the ship running well enough to take on multiple enemy military ships and come out smiling. Not very talkative, you don’t know much about her.
Dr. Kelisa Janios- Asari Doctor with degrees in Internal Medicine for most of the major Council species and several Terminus races. Also has an advanced degree in Psychiatry.
Sel Sola- Drell Bodyguard, trained to serve since a young age to protect her ward and eliminate any threats to them required.

It's been around a week, that's a long-term investment, you'll see it in a few months time. I'll let you know, promise.

Rin pings the planet, you see a few structures, you get a good map of each, look to be research facilities. Some AA and military capabilities, they didn't want anyone to come knocking.

Rin admits she ship is a bit of a mystery to her but she deduces it must have state of the art heatsinks for capturing emissions that were likely damaged in the battle. Even so the ship obviously has more tricks up it's sleeve, it can easily overtake your ship in a chase and seemingly has a superb amount of firepower and superior electronic warfare capabilities and that's only what you've seen so far. Past that shields are powerful for a frigate and seem to be restoring back to full power quickly, it must have a huge eezo drive for a ship of it's class.

Sweet lady luck smiles!

Although to be fair, every one of our personalities can stand its ground in a fight.

What powers did we have again? Tech armor, and...?
>>
>>22433544

Have them pick what they feel most comfortable with. What is the layout of the base? Small, compact bunker in a hostile environment? Or a sprawling camp on a garden world? Or something else entirely?
>>
>>22433544

same with sel
have Luke grab extra ammo for Oolot

>>
we should call over and find out what we are going to hit

have ever one take what they want If they have Luke be our mule grab some extra ammo and a launcher
>>
>>22433547

Sentinels are Tech and Biotics, they specialize in close quarter and able to take unreal amount of punishment before going down. More walking tanks than anything else.

>>22433570
Best you can tell there are 4 locations, 2 small outposts guarding a larger facility and finally what appears to be a mine based facility dug into the side of a mountain sitting a few clicks away from the rest.

>>22433599
You do so, it's a little heavy for Luke but he assures you he's got it.

The Midway responds with a tactical layout showing they plan to move their team through the far camp and recommend you start with the other and rendezvous at the facility, you can decide about the entrenched location once the other 3 have been eliminated.

They are vague on their exact gameplan along with how much they're bringing to bear on the location.

>Oolot has equipped an Avenger AR, a Scimitar shotgun, a Carnifex handgun, a ML-77 missile launcher along with his customized Krogan battle-armor.

>Sel has a lightweight combat suit fitted with environmental seals to create a controlled environment within the suit. She equips a Mantis sniper rifle, a Tempest SMG, and an M-3 Predator.

>Luke also has an Avenger AR, Carnifex hand cannon, and the ML-77 Launcher. He takes enough extra for Oolot to have double the standard take for a Krogan (nearly 4 times what Sel is carrying already)

"Planning to topple a government?" Sel asks Oolot and Luke with their load.

"You never know what you'll encounter when you hit the ground, Rox battle doctrine is to take more than you could ever conceivably need, you'll often find that's precisely how much it requires to get your sorry ass off-world." he laughs loading his shotgun

>Your loadout?
>>
>>22433873
grab a heavy pistol and a good shotgun

M-100 Grenade Launcher
take some specialty grenades smoke, lift, incendiary exct...
>>
>>22433873
do we have a M-622 Avalanche ?

if so take that our best shotgun with an Armour pricing mod and a heavy scoped pistol

some smoke lift incendiary and HE grenades
>>
>>22433954

>You grab a Scimitar, a Carnifex and manager to poke around until you find a crate of M-100s, you find the standard explosive, delayed, incendiary, and smoke.

>Lift? Like a biotic grenade, never seen anything like that, as far as you know there is no way to use biotics for anything other than melee weapons
>>
>>22433873

>let's have enough ordnance to make our own exit
I like this doctrine.

Take a shotgun and a rifle, along with some grenades. Also, what sort of tech/biotics tricks we are proficient with?

Are we taking captives?
>implying cerberus troops surrender

The commando that cerberus wants us to take out is a male vanguard. The girl we were talking to was probably his pilot or engineer.

I'd say let's give a single offer to surrender, then take them out. Our present persona does not seem the squeamish type.
>>
>>22434044

With the heavy weapon you're not sure you can get a full length rifle and ammo for it as well. It could slow you down a bit

Oolot shrugs "Your call, personally I think the only good person that shoots at you is a dead one"

"Not enough information to make a judgment call." Luke informs you

"Depends on how you want to play it, I'm not squeamish but I question the necessitation of killing people we don't have to." Sel says adding suppressors onto her guns and a higher powered optic to her Mantis.
>>
>>22434186
"If the opportunity arises that you could easily knock someone out instead of killing them, do so. I don't want anyone going out of their way for hostages though. Obviously, things might change on the ground. Keep an ear open on the comms."

We have given up on stealthy approach by taking Oolot and his bags of fun, so there's no point in landing too far out. I suggest the middle ground approach. Furthermore, once we disable AA weapons, Switch could give some air support.
>>
>>22434252
If Switch thinks he can reasonably run us in for a hot drop without getting the I<3Ponies torn to shreds, that's what we're doing. We're all CQC after all. If not, then lets insert far out into the jungle and try to avoid alerting them to our presence. The whole point is to catch them unprepared.

Switch is nervous about a hot-drop and Rin looks physically ill with the premise of having to fix the ship.

You decide on a jungle drop.

You breach the atmosphere of the planet, it's rich with fauna but doesn't seem to be inhabited with any life besides the Cerberus troops, that's odd...

>Do anything before you land?

"Sel, take point, I want an update if you see anything, scout ahead. Luke bring up the rear, but stay close." you tell them.

Sel dashes ahead into to the brush and you don't hear her again after that.

Oolot takes careful steps but due to his immense size it's hard for him to be very sneaky, Luke as well is having a hard time being quiet while keeping pace.

After about half an hour your comm pings, "3, wandering a path, don't seem to be looking for anything in particular, they're heading away from us. Orders?" Sel whispers over comm

>You see a window open on your HUD, some troopers clad in jungle gear wander aimlessly towards the east. You believe this trail runs the perimeter of the two camps due to the distance it goes out.

"Did you come to find them too? That's why they brought me here, to help them find the Gods. so what are they doing biotic? drugs? bio weapon? cyborg ?
>>
>>22437912

She nods and Luke sheepishly moves over to the station.

"I was taken by the Geth when I was still human, they put me and all my friends onto the spikes, I was the last, but before I could turn into one of the Gods servants I was saved. But my condition only attracted the attention of Cerberus, I found I could sense them, I knew where the Gods works hid from mortal eyes. They used that and I led them here, they sought to use what they left behind, but it used them instead... Now they wander aimlessly, they'll kill any who trespass here, they tried to complete my conversion when I murdered them. I see things, I pained them in their blood, I hoped it would protect me from the voices...it did not. Perhaps they will mean more to you."

You scan the walls, huh...it almost looks like a Star chart, but you can't be sure, and you're positive some of these have to just be describing things at various locales. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense but you tell Luke ot capture everything on his Omni-tool.

"Commander, you may wanna hear this..." Luke tells you before hitting play on the audio file she pulled up.

>>
>>22438232

oh and if she stays inert, just leave her there. We can deal with her later, and Geronimo is probably already tapping his foot.
>>
>>22438133
Ask her if she wants to come with us. If she refuses then just leave her for now.

Finish our business here and continue on.

we will take care of them

lets move on give her a smoke grenade so she can hide better
>>
>>22438583
"We have to leave now." If she doesn't come just leave her there
>>
>>22438583

>geth flagship
Yes, do the heroes recognize the sound and associate it with what attacked the Citadel?

>orders
"Very well, we were going to clean them up anyway. Be safe, girl, we will take you from this lair of villainy."

Go for the main base.
>>

>>22438633
>>22438645

You leave a smoke grenade with her to use and tell her to disappear into the jungle if anyone tries to hurt her. She nods.

You don't recognize the sound, it is otherwordly and bizarre.

You head out and see Sel taking point looking to the north.

"I heard gunfire, I think the other team is ahead of us." Sel reports.

"We'll let's not waste anymore time. Oolot, grab what's left of whatever was in that crate and let's move out." you command moving to take point.

The sounds of a firefight draw closer.

Flank seems good enough. They don't know what we look like, so let's not be in the direction they are gonna charge in.
>>
>>22439125

speaking of which, how are we going to tell who they are? We're about to enter a firefight of clandestine criminal organisation operatives with undercover Alliance commandos. It's not like we could expect either to have uniforms.
>>
>>22439000
>[ X] Try and sneak in to flank
always flank
>>
>>22439125

You move to flank your targets, you're coming up to a small hill that according to the readouts Rin gave you sat just short of the facility.

The facility is in pademonium, dozens of men firing at each other, one tearing into a female officers chest with a knife while her soldiers flee. Most of them have a wild look in their eye, the others are running, occasionally turning to fire, but running nonetheless.

A gruff voice comes over your comm.

"Enjoying the fireworks?" the man asks
>>
>>22439554

"You could say that. Which ones should I not kill? Have you offered them surrender yet?"
>>
>>22439554
this place is kinda fucked up who should I shoot?

>>22439636

"You could say that, this place is pretty fucked up, who should I shoot?" you ask

"Heh, I've just been asking myself the same damn question. Look to your left." says the man, you do and see a light flashing, must be a signal mirror.

Meet up our new friend. If I were to venture a guess, seeing what happened to that girl was all the reason we needed to determine our allegiance in this fight, although getting to know our target/partner can't hurt.
>>
>>22439696

(I meant the cerberus/N7 dilemma)

Incidentally, give signal to Switch to be on alert for additional cerberus forces. If Volkov or his ilk realize what we've seen here, he might decide that we're too much of a liability for him after all.

You make your way over to his team as the carnage continues below.

His team has guns trained on you but as they see Sel and Oolot draw their arms back.

"Well that confirms it, Cerberus doesn't like non-humans, now that leaves the question. Who the hell are you and what brings you to this corner of space?" the man asks taking over his helmet and running his hand over a short mohawk. A long scar juts up his jawline and over his eye.

"Oh, my apologies, I didn't even introduce myself. Staff Sergeant Briggs, damn good to meet cha." he extends a hand

thing is now there going to be on my ass so I was thinking bit of your blood and hair burnt up in an N7 helmet should be all the proof they need for me to get my credits. you go into hiding and maby i get in a little deeper help you fuck them reall good

what do you think?
>>
>>22440692

if we're going for the big reveal:
"I've actually been contracted by Cerberus, but what I've seen here removed any doubts that whatever their business is, I will have none of it."

If not:
"A mutual acquaintance of ours was willing to expend ridiculous amounts of credits for information on your whereabouts. We were scouting out uncolonized system close to mass relays and chanced upon you."

Although I doubt he'll buy the bullshit version.
>>
>>22440692
My employer is less than fond of you at present, but I was rather uncertain of his intentions in the matter. I would love a chance to more deliberately hash this out with you after dealing with our more immediate problem, what do you say?

I think a cutie cyber mad zombie girl is even a bit much for our moral lax killer to go fuck no
plus they got a better war ship I would rather not risk it when a lie to Cerberus avoids any fight and nets us a profit
>>
>>22440853

Drake has struck me more like true neutral than anything else. Besides, even evil has its standards. Torturing innocents with nanotech seems stretching it a bit.

Seems like a general "no" from the group.

"Well essentially there are a few parties very dedicated to finding you and helping you end up on some noble monument somewhere back on Earth and payed me quite a large sum of money to this end. However from what I've seen here I'm less inclined to believe what we have is a long term relationship. With that in mind I'd like to continue assisting you clear this planet and assuring my assets are well protected." you tell Briggs

"In other words Cerberus sent you here to kill us." he says

"And rape your corpses before biotically crushing them into a bucket which we will then lob into a large star...essentially." you finish

"Well then..." he says

"We could still do that you know." Oolot mumbles

addendum:

"Don't worry Oolot, I expect that from now on, you're gonna see a lot more action. And by that I mean a *lot*"
>>
>>22441011
our new friends sure do find interesting fights hopeful they will find some work opportunists for us as well

lets think of this as an audition
>>
>>22440974

"Looks pretty par for the course as far as Cerberus Ops go, and now you understand why I'd bombard this place from orbit if it were practical to do so." Briggs states matter of factly, his men look ill at ease, "Well let's get moving, it looks like this shit is sorting itself out. We'll blow this mine to kingdom come with a nuke, throw up a quarantine sat and call it a day." he waves his squad on-wards.

"We appreciate the help, you mentioned a girl with red hair, we'll have to make sure to extract her with us as well. I'll signal our shuttle crew to do so. Come on, it'll be night soon and I'd like to make good time."

TO BE CONTINUED
>>
>>22441093

Quite. Besides, even if Alliance budget might be stingier than that of Cerberus, what we have found and heard suggests that Cerberus deals with the Geth. Getting hands on some Geth tech, we should make a killing! Plus, if there is any threat of another Geth invasion, forestalling another Torfan would be an additional boon.
>>
>>22441143

Sounds good. Cheers and nighty night, OP!

Appreciate you hanging out, sorry I had to do a lot of running about today. Still cleaning up from the holiday season, had to replace my headlights too. Pain in the ass...

I will try to be in again Friday at noon US Central time.
