Hey there followers of the Great Blue Whale! If any of the collaborators from last night are on I have a good chunk of the background we made written up onto a google doc.
Here's the link
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NEATlELr--rWuV4TOwenXJAznCxk1an4dopxjaeA7S4/edit

Let's add some more!

One addition per post. Three vetos for one post to dissapear. No dickgirls(?).
>>
>>22424863

Oh awesome, someone made a thread.
Archive of the previous one.
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/22408772/
>>
>>22424953
Yep OP from last night. I have a good deal of the old thread written up in slightly decent writefaggotry. Mostly just so we know wassup. Feel free to add anything.
>>
Something I though up yesterday after the thread hit the bumplimit.

Ceramic armor is a popular choice, though fragile, it can save you from a few otherwise lethal blows, and protects you from the scorching sun.
>>
>>22425040
That makes sense. I was thinking that the desert should have lots of canyons. More interesting to explore that sand and gives some more things to think up when talking about random encounter.s
>>
>>22425078

Not just canyons anon, some are immense trenches that can be many miles long, and even a mile or more deep.
>>
>>22425198
oooh OP here and I've been reading all of our old post and apparently someone put up a waterless coral reef full of parasite folk. Maybe that's where the reef lives. In one of the deep trenches.
>>
Most clothing is made of leather or silk, due to the lack of haired animals, and the difficulty growing plants in the deep desert.
>>
>>22425363
Dire Bears are the only reliable way to get a hold of good hair to make clothing out off, so the rich generally wear it and will pay handsomely for the skin of one.
>>
>>22425442

Dire Bears have long silky hair. Regular bears tend to have hair long enough to work, but it is often too thick to make good clothing out of.

>>22425511
Glorious Dire Bears.
>>
The people of the vine tend not to wear clothing, do to being able to control what way their bodies grow off of the base form. They effectively use this growth of their bodies, to cover themselves as one of another race would with clothing. Often with leaf like structures.
>>
>>22425750
They do wear clothing when wearing armor though, due to rough edges of the armor sometimes cutting into there bark. An easy way to figure out if one of the People of the Vine's a warrior is if they're wearing any type of clothing.
>>

Around the desert, remnants of old, forgotten civilizations are scattered, like antennas, old motorbikes etc. Some people have come to worship them and decorate them with bones etc.
>>
>>22425838
man what the hell happened to our world to make "this" post-apoc?
>>
>>22425802

Due to the convention of warriors wearing armor, and thus clothing, the mages of the people of the vine who fight, also wear some clothing, even if they would not wear armor. Denoting their position as a individual who sees fighting as part of their occupation.
>>
>>22425838
Any Druid worth his grain knows of every remnant around his land. They are known as Old Dreams and a touch can kill or bless. Only a Druid knows what each will do.
>>
>>22425876
That's the fun part: Nobody knows, nobody cares. It's not like, say, the Cavemen found remnants of an older civilization and thought: "Hey, what happened to them?".
>>
>>22425943
true. man I shall always wonder though...OP here and a New Rule if everyone is on board with it. You cannot explain why the ruins are there. Maybe the DM in your game makes a reason. Maybe not. But it is one of the mysteries that we won't solve while world-building. Deal?
>>
>>22426019

Sure.
>>
>>22426019
Yep.

Also, this idea: >>22425931 i particularly like because it might make for a good quest / campaign goal. Like, some kind of, Eldorado-like ruin / artefact that is rumored to grant you unlimited power / wealth etc. etc.
>>
>>22426066
man that could fuck over an evil party. a group of five is all evil except for the druid. he tricks them into following him to the ruin. Right as the touch it they all turn into sand. Druid does victory dance.
>>
Man, I'm just liking the sound of this desert. Always love deserts.
>>
Another idea for the the ruins / remnants: They MAY cause anomalies around them, as in storms of psychic energy, regular storms, people rising from the dead (maybe), etc. etc.

That wouldnt be the case with all of them, of course, but i'm talking the more hidden / desolate ones, as their powers are running wild.
>>
>>22426185
Nice. We have really weird tomb dungeons. "The Dreaded Subway of the Pale Sword."
>>
There are the ruins of other civilizations in the deserts, separate from the remnants, including cities buried in sand.
>>
>>22426259
The biggest of the Old Dream Cities is called the "Serpents Burial" due to the five giant skeletons of Dragons that lead to it like an entrance.
>>
>>22426330

How about, not all of them are known. I mean this is actually a kind of brutal world, magic storms caused by psions, dreamstorms caused by demons and gods, high average heat, little water, demons that take over people progressively over time. Belief affecting a reality, say a rumor was spread that a civilization just vanished, it isn't true, but if enough people believe it, it could cause it to happen.
>>
>>22426396
I like that more too. Half of the "Old Legends" could just be Bards being crafty.
>>
>>22426422

There could be ruins of a civilization which never actually existed, because a bard made a good tale once.
>>
>>22426450
That could be. Not going to give a definite answer myself. Also I think Kyary Pamyu Pamyu should be like the basis for some weird Psychic Dreamling that wanders the desert to help/trick/prey/due weird shit to people she comes across.
>>
>>22426581
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GivkxpAVVC4
She's the Bard Queen of Mania. Wandering the desert with her band of Monster Bards she stole the heart of she gives bizarre dreams that help and hinder to any that she encounters. They say she was a Princess once.
>>
Dude back from last night who thought of
>the desert
>the underground cavern and its ancient cities
>the mantaray people
>the obelisk
and a bunch of other stuff. I think I must of contributed 1/4 of the thread last night lol

I think we should work on the major cities of this realm this time around.

Also
Ancient races city underground with the tower, the cities although abandoned with the exception of the repair golems and wander dwarfs should be called "Lucity" as a play on words for "lucid" dreaming and city
>>
>>22426712
Im just gonna take up a trip for this thread alone for the future, I believe the other major world builders should do this along with OP.
>>
>>22426712
I agree whole heartedly. So our major cities so far are The City of the Vine, Kiriplact and its Orc Tyrant, The Fortress City of Desh Home of Halflings, and a Waterless Coral Reef City somewhere in the deep trenches and canyons of the surface.
>>
>>22426800

Nope, not doing it, and I came up with a lot.

New city, Aquaos, a city on the water, in the middle of a wide desert. Though they have all the water they could want, the sands are without any nutrition for plants.
>>
>>22426823
City of Coral with the parasite people. thinking a good name for it might be something along the lines of Cay - http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cay. Thoughts?
>>
>>22426874
I like that. People have pilgrimages to Aquaos to get one of the only fresh water areas in the world.
>>
>>22426991
my name left me lol

Also, OP, are you writing out the doc right now during this thread ? Its looking pretty good so far!
>>
>>22427029
I've been putting some stuff up. Love to get some help, I'm trying to finish some homework while I do this.
>>
>>22427006

The pilgrimages are dangerous due to quicksand and a shifting landscape in the desert. Also lots of water, lots of heat, and a desert of all similar colored sand would greatly imply a fuckload of mirages.
>>
>>22427043
Alright, i'll bring up the old thread and start writing out the Ancient Races if you want me to. Then post them here and you can copy/pasta (and edit a bit) to the doc
>>
>>22427055
Just like the pilgrimages to the City of the Vine for a new seed, the pilgrimages to Aquaos are sometimes done by well paid mercenaries for larger towns.
>>
>>22427072
sweet! sounds good man! man I wish I had the "feels good man" pic now.
>>
Its possible to make linen from the people of the vine, while some of this is merely a safe removal of their grown additions, the highest quality, and strongest linen is made from their base form. Often harvesting this kills, and at the least maims them.
>>
>>22427134
The Orc Tyrant of Kiriplact knows of this method and most of his men are decked out in armor and clothes made from People of the Vine.
>>
>>22427164

The people of the vine can easily recognize this linen, as easily as a human can recognize a human skull.
>>
The Ancient Races

These are the races who build the great underground with cities and technology currently foreign to the people of the sands. This races are all nearly extinct.

The Calamant or Manta Ray people are humanoid beings ranging from 7 feet to 9 feet tall. They have a leathery skin which ranges from black to blue which fades into white on their chest area. They have large black pearl like eyes and no mouths with gil like holes in their chests and long thin barbed tails. They were one of the psionic ancient races known for the construction of the golems which now wander the cities unwatched.

Someone want to go over this for spelling errors and what not.
>>
>>22427342
my trip hate me
>>
The Deadmen are a race of tiny inteligent organisms which take on larger hosts. These hosts can be nearly any race, it is known that the hosts they took would slowly "dry out" till there was nothing left but a withered husk. This is where the deadmen got their known name. There is little currently known on the deadmens culture as an ancient race.
>>
The Cockroachkin were one of the two ancient races which built the cities of the underground. They had the form of lion sized metal cockroaches. This race appeared to be sentient mechinery with no ability to communicate to the other ancient races without help of a psychic (which their people could not produce). It is sead that they eventually betrayed the other 13 races for some unknown reason and they are the ones who locked the great tower at the center of Lucity.
>>
>>22427587
Nice thanks man!
>>
>>22427587
forgot name
>>
Can anyone think of a better name for the race of protohumans other then "protohumans" ? lol
>>
>>22427731
Hmm...maybe some bits and peices of a knowledge deity's name?
Like Ganesians?
>>
>>22427731

Well I picked protohumans just because they wouldn't quite be the same race as regular humans, and in general I suck with names. We could call them troglodytes, which just means cave dweller.
>>
>>22427731
The Burael.
>>
>>22427809
That sounds goodish. Between Ganesians and Troglodytes I like both. What do you think?
>>
>>22427826
I like that the best actually. It sounds awesome.
>>
>>22427834
Glad you like it!

I should get a trip for this thread too. How do you get one again?
>>
Feel free to change this if wanted, im going off of VERY little to write this race up.

The Purple Pipers were a race of humaniods with chitionus exoskeletons. They had multiple fingerlike appendages running down the length of their arms and were known to carry a pipe seemingly of their own being. They ranged from 5 - 7 feet in height. They were known to be masters of sound, so much so that they could create lasting barriers comprised solely of it. Parts of the ancient cities are sead to be still protected by these walls of sound.
>>
>>22427809
Well as I imagined them being more advanced then the current humans of the surface I think we should stick away from Trog as its usually seen as lesser being.
>>
If anyone who thought up the ancient races are unhappy with the lore im giving them please speak up. Most of their discriptions are very vague and im trying to fluff them up a bit. They might not come out as you pictured them.
>>
>>22427844
A trip?
>>
>>22427932
I think it's pretty good. Gonna read all over them again, might need a new name, but the idea of purple pipers being the name of a mythic race is really cool for me.
>>
also I think that the common slang for people in this world should be a combo of Old Wild West and Aborigine and Aussie slang
>>
>>22427844
Enter a name in the name field followed by one or two # (no spaces at all) and then a series of letters or numbers that you'll remember after it
>>
>>22428025
Like this?
>>
>>22428025
>>
Yeah, this'l do.
>>
anyone think my idea for the slang is any good? I love both styles and never get to use any in a game.
>>
>>22428113

Eh, whatever, I kind of know old wild west, but am completely ignorant of aborigine, and, um, aware of aussie slang.
>>
>>22428123
I had this great old Palladium book that had a ton of different ones in the back in my youth. Can't think where I placed it. I thought it might fit this "rough and tumble harsh land" feeling we have. And aborigine slang is really weird and focuses almost entirely on dreams. Thought that'd work well unless we wanted to come up with a brand new one. We could pick and choose.
>>
name subject to change

The Griy were the most savage of the ancient races. They appear in the height range of humans but were very muscular with light grey to darker grey tough skin, having four eyes, no nose and a large tooth filled maw of a mouth in the middle of their heads. Their weapons although ugly in deseign are sead to be some of the best craftmanship this world has ever seen. Those who find a relic weapon of theirs are lucky indeed.
>>
I like the name a lot. I was thinking that the Griy Celestial made the Orcs so his race could survive in a fashion.
>>
>>22428185
hullo friends, didn't notice this had started i kinda like the idea of getting a name based on previous creations, so if you'll excuse me.
>>
>>22427451
There could be a city remaining of the husks of what the deadmen left, Not really a "ghost city" just bodies repeating the same actions endlessly.
>>
>>22428185
if that's happening I need to change my name
>>
File: 1357465203825.png-(777 KB, 1023x649, it's cute how you don't h(...).png)

Not all objects found in the desert are literal relics of the ancient races. Some of them are symbols or images that have been only recently dreamed into existence, maybe even by the subconscious minds of the PCs.
>>
>>22428217
That's creepy. Man a psychic deadman is gonna be super-hate-crimed.
>>
>>22428230
We still going with people occasionally getting pulled into the realm in a revenlofty way?
>>
The Sporas were a race of fungus people. Ranging from 2 - 3 feet in height they were molted grey to light purple in colour. They had long thin arms with the ability to grow more appendages, they have no heads to speak of. They sense the world through vibration, only vibration, taste, and touch. This race was known to create the most beautiful of music and did so to compel their emotions and thoughts to others.
>>
>>22428264
I still enjoy that. Some group of bored players will get drunk in an inn and *TADA!* crazy fucking campaign time motherfucker.
>>
>>22428270
You are awesome Manta
>>
>>22428264

Sure, stability is not, common, in this world, I mean hell, its called acid trip.
>>
>>22428304
To quote from the last thread,
>Eberron Warforged gets sucked in
>error logic circits malfunctioning
>finally gets a hold of self, FLYING WHALES!
may or may not have been paraphrased a bunch
>>
>>22428264
I really like the idea, that way if someone wanted to use this world in a campeign their pc dont have to know much about the world. They can be from known worlds and be pulled into a completelly alien and insane realm.

Imagine a wizard from faerun or a warforged from eberron or a gladiator from darksun being pulled into this setting.
>>
>>22428270

Sporas only communicated through the use of music, as their bodies could not produce sound on their own. The most simple way for them to communicate was through hitting a rock on the ground in a set pattern.
>>
>>22428330
>Hey guys, look a bear, let's kill it!
>OH DEAR GOD WHY
>>
More ancient races, since we apparently need nine.

Personae are a race of wooden figures whose personalities are entirely derived from the clothes they're wearing and from a role inherent in their structure, similar to that in a play. They are broadly divided into two "sides": protagonist and antagonist, with more specific roles like love interest, close friend, and ally found among both sides. They treat reality as a drama, acting for the purpose of creating a good performance or compelling drama more than the benefit of one or another party.
>>
>>22428312
Thank you lol, I just love the idea of a /tg/ made setting so unlike anything we've seen.
>>
>>22428330
Man Darksun would spend so much time thinking he just found a weird area full of nice mages. Then bears.
>>
>>22428349
Actually, we had 13, previous thread has them in a list
>>
Chernoroch

The Chernoroch supposedly are a race of Nomadic people. Next to nothing is known about them, except that they travel in airships and whoever encounters one almost certainly never lives to tell the tale. The Chernoroch fly high up in the sky in their airships and use projectile weapons at pinpoint accuracy. They shoot at their target from higher than it can see them, impale it with a hook and pull it upwards, into the sky. Chernoroch are rarely seen, and it is often the case that they capture someone without their presence being known by the captured himself until it is too late. They travel much higher than most races can see, and with extraordinary eyesight you may catch a glimpse of one of their ships if they're flying low. Even the winged ones and the whales seem to fear and / or avoid the Chernoroch. An omen of an approaching Chernoroch attack is the sky being completely clear of any whales etc. etc.
So, boogymen for the setting.
>>
>>22428349
We actually have 13 races , im just fleshing them out.

You can check out the previous thread here
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/22408772/
>>
>>22428264
Interesting idea... anyone sucked into the world would be confused, and unable to base their logic around "the way the world works". Like they did in their home plane.
>>
>>22428345

What is with this bear? Why is the sand attacking us.

>>22428349

We had a list of them, Manta is just transferring them to this thread, and cleaning things up a bit.
>>
>>22428349
We have all 13 haha. they're on the last thread.
Non-Celestial
Dwarves
Proto-Humans
Cockroachkin

Celestial
Deadmen
Four-Eyed Savages
Wrestling Gorons
Psychic Manta Ray-Men
Archeans
Living Fungus People
Sentient Fire Elementals
Purple Pipers
Asrai
>>
>>22428362
>>22428349
these might make awesome current races though for the land of sand
>>
>>22428370

Oh yea, to expand on some stuff from the previous thread. Sand, and dirt just does what bears want, for a normal bear this mostly amounts to a sand dune not collapsing on them, for a dire bear, it can mean reshaping the landscape to their will.
>>
>>22428349
Holy dicks those guys are perfect. Since our gods are concepts of story having a race of story makes sense. and the boogeymen are pretty damn cool too. Specially since we don't have many monsters in the game besides Bears and Demons. And I'd rather fight the demons.
>>
>>22428361
Hm. If races are all accounted for, more acid trip stuff then.

The GM needs to pay careful attention to the moods of his players and their characters, since they shape the fabric of reality. The more frustrated and confused a player/character gets, the more difficult things get for him; the more relaxed and passive he is, the easier things are. You want to get to the top of that mountain? The height of it depends on how difficult the task is in your character's mind. Somebody smarter than me can try to put this into manageable crunch.
>>
>>22428413
well, any monster the DM can think of could plausibly be in this world
>>
>>22428430
Wow. This is gonna be awesome. So many fucking will saves heh.
>>
The Archeans were a race of snake like people. Human sized with scales for skin ranging from grey all the way to yellow or red with complex paterns based on their lineage. They had four arms and legs with a large tail. This race was extremely cunning and quick witted known as masterful assasins and tactitians. They were the most warlike of the ancients.
>>
>>22428413
Do know: You dont FIGHT the Chernoroch. You dont even know they are there (unless you are really, really aware of your surroundings) until they shoot you / stab a hook through your chest and haul you up into the sky. This is more of something like an ultra-deadly random encounter than a fight.
>>
>>22428430

13th race are the forgotten, there are ruins, and ruined writing underground, but nothing to tell us who or what they were. The memory of this race was removed, or otherwise forgotten.
>>
>>22428449
Ahh so run the fuck away encounter.
>>
>>22428448
you forget the melding with the earth part
>>
>>22428453
Haha yea we came up with that last night too!
>>
>>22428449
>>22428462
The whales still don't give a shit.
>>
>>22428386
I think that's 14 races, unless one counts as a "lesser" race
>>
>>22428476
true, but the forgotten were decided when we had 2 ancient races to go, and then we got an extra somehow
>>
>>22428476

Non-Celestial and Celestial are divisions, not races. Most of them ascended to Celestial, the others did not. 13th race are the forgotten.
>>
>>22428476
No Celestial and Non-Celestial aren't races. That's what the races became. Just a second I typed it better in the doc.
>>
>>22428462
You could call it that, yeah.
>>
>>22428463
crap, I did

Adding to this then
>>22428448
They had the power over stone and could will the landscape around them to improve odds of their tactics success among other things.
>>
>>22428494

Also from the other thread, some of the dead men didn't become celestial, as well as some of the Asrai didn't become celestial.
>>
What was that name for the Proto-Humans someone came up with?
>>
>>22428515
The Burael.
>>
>>22428521
Dammit ,forgot mah trip.
>>
The Nine Celestials are one of each of the Nine Ancient Races that are trapped inside the Obelisk. They protect mortals dreams from Demons. The Proto-Humans and the Dwarves both escaped the Obelisk before it closed. The Archimantles were cursed to die dreamless. The fourth non-Celestial race was forgotten forever.
>>
>>22428521
thanks
>>
We also have to remember the races which did become Celestials are trapped inside the tower in Lucity (the tower connected to the obelisk) in a stasis of sorts.

Or are we ditching that idea.... im not sure how its all gonna work out. Shit gets confusing in acid world lol
>>
>>22428538
Shit gets confusing is practically the mission statement
>>
Pools of Blood:

Throughout the Acidscape, there are splatters of blood across the ground, recalling the primitive, violent part of human nature. Being near them infuses people with a soothing mental clarity -- don't bother thinking; your instinct tells you to fight -- but also a powerful urge to kill any living thing that comes your way. You may even kill yourself if no challenger appears soon enough.
>>
>>22428538
That's where there bodies are kept dreaming and all. Like the Obelisk helped them achieve Celestial-hood, but they're still trapped.
>>
>>22428551
Veto.
>>
>>22428567
Holy shit, our first veto in two threads
>>

>>22428576

That isn't true, the tree was vetoed, and transformed into the obelisk, with a tree growing around it feeding off its power. Sure the tree is still a thing, but there was a veto that made us make the obelisk. Though the tree only actually got two vetos cast against it.
>>
>>22428593
oh, right, it just wasn't explicitly stated veto. welp
>>
The Burael were the ancient race of humans, humans of the sand world are sead to be decendents of the orignals. One of the races who did not become celestials they fled to the surface of the sand after the fall of the under cities. Its a wide held belief by the sages of the sand that the Buraels were librarians of sorts amongst the ancient races.
>>
>>22428593
Yea but the guy who made the Tree I think said that the Obelisk was a better idea.
>>
>>22428551
I think im going to veto this as well, it seems very edgy for this world.
>>
>>22428612

Nope, I did not. Though I will say the Result of the obelisk is WAY better than the tree.
>>
>>22428610
>Buraels

Burael is Burael both in plural and single form.
>>
>>22428551
I like this for a magic potion maybe. If you spill blood in the dreamscape and take it out it becomes this maybe? It's sorta kinda cool, not sure if I really want it in the world. So Veto if we can't figure out a better way to implement.
>>
>>22428558
Ah okay
>>
>>22428628
thank you for pointing that out. With names you never know.
>>
Here's a nice confusing one for you.

Memory chains:

While people in the Acidscape may have known each other in the real world, their perceptions of one another are no longer the same. The most basic bond between people is a "chain" of memories that the two share of each other, which allows them to maintain constant perceptions of others that are fairly consistent with their real-world memories. Some chains, of course, are stronger than others. Individuals bound by a weak chain are more likely to see their chainmate transform (though they may not actually see a transformation) and will see such changes sooner. If a chain is broken, each chainmate disappears from the other's experience, though each is left holding some links, making it possible for them to bond with others, including rebonding with an old chainmate. Forming new memories with a person strengthens a chain; traumatic experiences, especially at the hands of one's chainmate, weaken the chain.
>>
>>22428665
...well fuck
>>
After a magic or dreamstorm in the desert, sometimes the intense power leaves the land glassed over.
>>
>>22428683
makes sense
>>
>>22428681
Basically, the less you knew someone in real life, the more likely it is you're going to see them turn into a maneating squid or some shit and the sooner it will happen.
>>
>>22428665

Testing a trip, because it Might clear things up.

Also, the people of the vine can be born immortal(vs ageing, and thus the stress of magic), however the result is random, and none are sure they are immortal to to equally random lifespans, tens or hundreds of years. They also show no signs of aging but an increased risk of illness.

And now it's just flat out terrifying. So is the Acidscape what we're gonna call the Dreamscape from now on? Cause if so you sir have my bow.

The person who is changed retains who they are, just how they are perceived is different? Am I reading that right?

Dwarfs are kinda tricky writing up... since they are an ancient race and very few exist im not sure how to word it all. If someone else wants to take a shot on the dwarf disription they should go for it.
Key points to them
>non playable characters
>locked in a stasis for the past who knows how long
>looking for a way to enter the tower either to become celestial themselfs or to free the other races from being celestials.
>they wander the under cities in hopes of finding a way to unlock the tower

This is what Lovecraft would've wanted us to do.
>>
>>22428717
Might as well, it's what we've been calling the threads

Yeah. They don't see themselves as being changed. Only one person sees them that way. A person who is bound to multiple people can be perceived by each of them in vastly different ways.

Gorons were a race of stone like people, large and bulky they looked like a mass of animated boulders. The race is thought to be the oldest of the ancients and made from the plane itself. It's pretty different for sure, but not impossible. It's basically just roleplaying a constant state of hallucination;" no matter what the other player's character sheet says, the weakening of my chain with him has caused me to view him as a snarling lizardman barbarian, at least for a while". Memory chains are just a concept, but putting them into mechanics shouldn't be too hard. Assuming point-build, you can put points into chains with other PCs, and then they can get weakened or strengthened by negative or positive events.

Speaking of which, how about this: when all of a PC;s chains are broken and he is unable to form a new one in a suitable period of time, he either a) flips out and snaps back to reality in a sweaty, traumatic panic attack, fearful of reentering the Acidscape or b) loses all contact with reality and memory of the world, including the ability to form relationships, and has no option but to go deeper into the Acidscape, possibly becoming assimilated into the Scape itself after a time.
>>
>>22428838
I think the name should be Jargles. It sounds fun personally. Like they probably were.

>>22428853

Silphy, a race seemingly comprised of light, they are actually made of small filaments of fibrous material, which caries light from their core. Their core is a small sphere at their center, wrapped in the fibrous material, the center of which is a glowing liquid crystal.

They are hard to find, and wander the entire world, mostly indifferent to the people living there. Its said they repair the land and seek to maintain the physical stability of the world. If someone attacks a Silphy while others are around, they will still only fight the single one they attacked as they will not come to the aid of anyone.

I say we make it Dragons, to honor our world building friends here, a massive Manta Ray that is said to have made the Sand Realm and a mysterious Lady of the Vine who holds the one secret The Great Blue Whale doesn't know. The entire Language of the Vines and the spells with it.
>>
Since y'all needed something to fight besides Demons 'n Bears:

The Raup

The Raup is a giant insect, something like a cross between a crab and a fly. It is a parasite, and it feeds off the whales flying through the sky. In fact, Raups are born on the whales, and some are lucky enough to die on them. But most of the time they simply fall off, not having enough strength to hold on. On the ground, the Raups must learn to fend for themselves and for their food. They are as big as a sturdy closet, have 4 legs, strong jaws and a sturdy carapace, which is valued amongst armorers across the land. The Raup's tactic is usually to bury itself beneath the sand and then bite into the unfortunate souls that happens to wander above it, hauling it into the sand to consume. Once the Raup spots a prey, it shall not let it go. That is because Raups are still accustomed (most of the time) to the constant feeding from the Whales. This makes the hunger of the Raup nearly limitless, and they will pursue and try to eat nearly everything that comes into their sight. After living 10 years (a lifetime most Raup will never reach) the Raup grow wings and become much larger, stronger and toughter overall. They abandon their burying methods and often make nests for themselves, using pheromones to attract other Raup to serve as guardians. They may fly off to drop off their eggs onto a whale from time to time, but the rest of the time they're sitting in their nests and creating a massive amount of eggs to haul off with them on their next whale-trip.
>>
>>22428920

But we already have societies and towns, which would be neigh impossible to develop in a world of constant hallucination.
>>
>>22428982
Since Orcs were made by the Griy Celestial and given a hatred of the Cockroachkin but no knowledge of what those are, they hunt the Raup ritualistically. No one, including the Orcs, know why they do it. It's just what's done.

______ were a race of sentient beings composed of flames. These fire elementals were known as greatest artists of their time. This was the race who built the artificial sun for the underground. Zibdobons, a race resembling golden-scaled Chinese dragons. Their presence causes everything to take a different, more beauteous form: fiery explosions becomes showers of paint; fights become dances; rectangular skyscrapers become organic tree-cities. They also induce harmonious outcomes to nearby events (and, crucially, increase the likelihood of memory chains being strengthened).

They are capable of flight and telepathy, as well as extending their bodies and minor feats of conjuration. They are attracted to the emotions of Hope, Faith and Wonderment.

cool, it should be noted that the Dragons were cursed to never fly as high as the Sky Whales because of a betrayal long ago. This was stated in the previous thread
>>
>>22428970

I was meaning to get around to the name I grabbed.

The Lady of the Vine is the leader of the people of the vine. She is said to be the oldest among them, she is both immortal, and still able to reshape her body's growth at will. She is treated more as a deity than as a ruler, and spends most of her time away from her people within the great tree that grows around the obelisk.
>>
>>22429023
Dragons and the massive Manta Ray. BUT! I'm not talking no cliche-dragons. We're going to think of our own Dragons. Lady of the Vine seems too cliche for this world.

Maybe, maybe not, I don't care myself. Though I guess I want the lady of the vine to not be one of the primals, as I grabbed the name in reference to some of the stuff I added. Namely the people of the vine, and I was the one who came up with the tree, and then shifted it into something that feed on/was produced by the obelisk. I have had a bit of a plant theme.

DRAGONS or in their original tongue: The Tzimiteotl

The Tzimiteotl are massive serpents, with scales glistering in the sun, once ablaze with divine fire. They are often horned, and have snouts as if they were mammals. They have giant eyes aglow with ever-burning light, and are powerful psychics. One look into their eyes can kill a man or turn him to stone, lest he can resist the powerful energy the Tzimiteotl radiate. They are gigantic in size, easily rivaling the length and height of a big skyscraper. The Tzimiteotl were one of the few primal races, and they once ruled over the desert in peace with the whales. However, a betrayal (that i do not know of yet) has condemned them, and the whales tore off their wings. Because of that, most of the serpents died off, and only those that adapted survived. The serpents now still have some of their past energy in them, and still are mighty, but they are scattered, hidden and few. They are very intelligent. They traverse beneath the sand, and hide in caves and canyons. This is why they are so hard to find.

I like this, and would like to add the betrayal was stealing knowledge (as it seems to be kind of the whales thing) of how to kill. Appropriate enough to condemn a race, yes?
>>
>>22429157
In the early days of the Acidscape, The Great Blue whale nearly ascended to godhood, but was betrayed by his draconic allies/children/friends/whatever the hell they were to him. For this, he cursed them to never fly as high, and gave/took away their wings as a cruel reminder
>>

That's it.

I'll do Dwarf.

The Dwarves were one of the younger races, found and brought up by the Lau (Gorons placeholder). They learned to drink with the rockmen, in fact besting them many times, and became as boisterous and battle-ready as the Lau were soft-spoken and kind-hearted. Though war nearly broke out many times a simple meeting was all that was needed, mead included of course. The fall, as some say, of the Ancients came as no surprise to the Dwarves. They never trusted "da roaches" as the called them, so a betrayal was never far from there minds. The Lau Chief would hear no such thing though, so the Dwarves left by themselves. Though few remain, a burning passion unites them. To find the Archimantles and watch them burn...for the Lau.

.>>22429464
I was musing on the implications of "melting into the Acidscape". I was thinking that you would retain your consciousness, or at least some of it, and become something akin to a local god of a little geographic area, or basically a face in a hill. Being merged with the Acidscape cuts you off from independent movement, but it means you are bonded with the other Lost Ones who comprise and experience the Acid alongside you (yes, every time a soul is Lost, the Acid gets bigger and more powerful).
>>
>>22429374
that actually gave me an idea. A race that is exclusively carnivorous, but far beyond the norm. Think wood elves, in reverse. Due to pyschological, and physical needs, they refuse to use anything that wasn't part a creature, for any purpose.
dark black, with black horizantally white slitted pupils, with gangly limbs, and myriads of fingers. They select a town/city/country, and feed off its living. A couple go missing here, some blamed murders there, and rarely, very rarely, they kill everyone, and take everything (usually the youngest overthrowing the eldest do this) and some time after they move on. They could have an exceptionally long metabolism, so aren't widely known, due to how little they eat/how fast the victims dissapear.
>>
>>22429476

Yea, I threw in the twins only get one soul pretty early last thread. Maybe twins are both very well suited to being in the acidscape, and more susceptible to its risks. Such as if only one of the twins goes, they have a high chance of at worst coming back to reality next to their twin. However though twins would naturally have a very strong memory chain, as they only have one soul, that chain doesn't count.
>>

Not people, not monsters....ALL FLESH!
>>
>>22429628
Inside are the Demons. Better explained in the doc but copypasta.
The Nine Demon Lords and their ilk are the nightmarish creatures that prey on our dreams. Each lord owns a few fears (ex. the Demon Bear Ursus owns bears, caverns, being eaten alive, and shares darkness with another Lord and rules over the Animal Fears). A mortal can become a Demon if they are filled with enough dark emotions. Generally that means they committed suicide (not all suicides make you a demon, just some). Any newly created Demon starts at the lowest caste and has to work his way up. One Demon Lord is said to have been a Mortal once.
Bears. Bears are like the scariest motherfuckers in the history of motherfuckers in the sand. One is even a Demon Lord.

Swords out of bone are cliche.
Why not swords INSTEAD of bones? Personifications of war and aggression, clanking around and destroying life not for food, but simply out of instinct. Perhaps they can add the bones of their victims to their bodies, making them even more formidable. Perhaps these can be the Acidscape counterpart to this Sand-world species.

>>22429668
And now the Carnivores. I saw they're the Fleshmen, mages of there's are called Fleshsmiths.
>>
>>22429599

Actually animal part weapons may well be popular in this setting. We need more animals from which to take armor and weapons from.

Derferon, Spindly clawed creatures, with both an exoskeleton and an internal skeleton. Their two skeletons connect through structures within the body making them incredibly resilient. They have long thin limbs, and a bulbous core body, which holds their hearts. They move their limbs with hydraulic forces by pumping their hearts. They have great strength, but do not move rapidly, and also move in a predictable fashion.

They eat metal ores with which they strengthen their claws and exoskeleton.

So about our elves, we have two types right now. Winged ones, who are all psions, and a group of land elves, who are not psions.

Can we keep it there? Because people do have big tendency to split them into everything ever.

Surface elves should also be brown,(like everyone on /tg/ likes) because of the suns, and some possible interbreeding with humans. The winged ones living on the sky islands and being sheltered from the suns are pale.

Since we need more bony animals, here goes:

An animal that rolls around in a ball made out of its own bone. All through its life, a hollow ball of bone grows on its head, until it grows too big and breaks off. The creature (I'm seeing something like a horny toad) then crawls inside through a hole in the structure. The ball is about six feet in diameter.

no no no no, ask them to create characters for a regular world then spring this world on them with the whole "characters can be pulled from other realms into this one" thing.

I have something the reverse, since everything here seems dangerous, or explicitly trying to kill you (except the one you made)
Its called the nutrund, and its its like a big squirrel without the teeth. They don't feel much pain below the waist, as its in their genetic makeup for a very specific reason. Apart from the head, they can regenerate a decnet bit of their bodies. However, they don't have children often, and regenerating anything more then a foot drastically cuts their lifespean. they can survive in the harsh deserts by eating (insert a weird desert fruit here) and are used by the modern races as sort of a facsimile for cows.
>>
>>22429785

So sense you are all with my on that post, here is another on elves.

Max life span,(ignoring life extending methods) is 1000 years. This is like a human reaching 110. Most elves, particularly do to using magic, live only to 500, which is their average life expectancy. Average may be nearly 600 for winged ones, and closer to 400 for surface elves, do to the relative dangers of each environment.

Hey, Orcfag from the previous thread. Have some ideas. As always, if you wanna change something, go for it.

The Halflings of Desh are extremely isloationist. Their stronghold is all but self sufficient. When they do require something from the outside world they select a citizen that has not been pulling their weight or doesn't tow the line. The intention is to make them see the harsh reality of the outside world, though often these outcasts find themselves much more at home in the desert and take up the mantle of wanderer after returning with the item they set out to retrieve (if at all).

All metal is highly sort after in the desert, coinage is often made of base metals such as Iron and Bronze, as Gold is so spectacularly rare. As a result miners and mine-owners are disproportionately wealthy. Miners are usually Humans or Dwarves. The only profession more highly valued is that of Blacksmith. Smiths are considered great artisans, and only the wealthiest families can afford to have their children apprentice under them. Every country and faction attempts to keep a high number of Smiths under it's employ, and they are treated very well by all but the most short-sighted rulers.

While to an outsider two Orc caravans might seem disparate in both ideology and countenance it is extremely rare for Orcs to turn on each other. All Orcs know that the preservation of the Secrets outweighs any petty squabbles and only the most ruthless and unscrupulous of Caravaners would ever put a Knower at risk. Whenever a pair of Caravans meet they exchange some of their younger members to keep the bloodlines varied, unless the Caravans are hostile for some reason, these rare meetings are always cause for great celebration.

The arid conditions of most of the world make farming difficult. Crops must be able to thrive with little-to-no water while livestock must be hardy. Large land-dwelling lizards make up the majority of herd-animals, alongside goats and oxen.
>>
>>22430037
Agreed! Once we polish it all up nice and shiny I saw we send it in.

Cuz it's always good to have more monsters:

Nerlots are hairy (fur is brightly colored, most often blue or yellow), goblin-like beings who have the bizarre ability to hitch rides with travellers between the Acid and reality by parroting a suitable amount of their personal mannerisms. In the Acid, Nerlots can drain power from people by learning and demonstrating information about their true selves, feeding off their energy and threatening their personal identity; however, if the psychonaut becomes aware of this jiggery pokery, they can reclaim the mimicked attributes, siphoning off power from the Nerlot. Doing this enough will scare the Nerlot away. Nerlots native to the Acid and can't either dimension of their own power; they must hitch a ride with a traveller. Nerlots can live for extremely long periods of time, as long as there are beings with mannerisms around.
>>
>>22429961

The nutrund have thick, hollow hairs which insulate them from the heat of the world and are bright, reflecting much of the suns' light. Do to being hollow these hairs are impossible to work into clothing, as they break easily in processing. (for sense of squirls being hairy, and making that mesh in the world, and the comment above about only dire bears being the only reliable source of good hair for clothing)

They like to eat Lefor fruit, Lefor trees growing in the desert are hard and woody, often short and without leafs, they grow only in magic rich areas, where they absorb some magic as part of their biologic process. They help to stabilize these areas to an extent. Their fruit is hard for most races to digest, and is either cooked for a long time, or used as feed for animals.
>>
>>22430045
Dwarves are supposed to be few and rare. So maybe they aren't the miners.
>>
>>22430059

>>
>>22430061
Hm, Like glaringly reflective? or like, a white sheet of paper reflective. either way, i like it.
>>
>>22430077
that would be hilarious
>>
>>22430063
Well, they don't make up the *majority* of miners, but those Dwarves that do live on the feel a primal urge to be close to the city beneath.
>>
>>22430045
Im against the whole mining thing, since the world beneith the sands is a giant cavern of different terrians and landscapes.

Maybe ores are stupidly rare because of what the ancient races and the only ones left are naturally forming but very hard to find viens sticking out of the sand or buried just beneath the dunes

Im kinda picturing the sands only being 2 or 3 miles deep before they break into the caverns of the under cities
>>
>>22430093
I can get behind that
My capcha was racist. It said House Nigga. Kinda funny since I'm listening to the Django soundtrack
>>
>>22430063
Dwarves aren't miners. Mining is mostly done by giant domesticated dung beetles, overseen by orcs with whips and trained to point to ores (since they can't extract them themselves).
>>
>>22430102
I like that. The Reefs and Canyons are random dips due to Ancient Tech collapsing.
>>
>>22430060

We get fae goblins? YES!

>>22430085

Think almost a metalic tan, kind of bright, but more refractive, you see lots of metallic sheen in their hair, but you also see tan.
>>
>>22430113
I like this more. Orcs that were banished and humans.
>>
>>22430124
Mostly humans, as banished Orcs should be the exception, rather than the rule.

Or, perhaps an Overseer race. A race of large pig-nosed beasts for whom the instigation of order is an almost orgasmic experience. They are considered the best Lawmen and Guards in the world, though they are rarely put in charge of such opperations, for fear of getting carried away.
>>
The birds that roam the desert waste a gigantic things. As long as two humans they are a fearsome signt. Most are birds of prey who's primary food sources are the sentient races that roam the surface. However if tamed from an egg they can provide loyalty and transport. Just be careful your mount doesn't go feral.
>>
>>22430151
They also came from the Acidscape and, even though both races hate the name and each other, are called Lorcs due to the similar nose and pigment.
>>
>>22430045

Eh, gold shouldn't be that rare. I mean no rarer than in our world, which is still pretty rare. Also, Bronze is two metals, copper and tin.

However we could make things like coal, and other fuels rare. No processing iron without a lot of heat, and there isn't much wood in a desert, so the most common fuel is basically gone.
>>
Geological you might the Acidscape:

Rivers of snakes
Hollow mountains, hills and rocks
Diamond glaciers
Cotton clouds
Blood volcanoes
Snow that changes into sand (and vice-versa)
Neverending oceans
Drifting islands
>>
>>22430183
the Yornis are fearsome battle mounts and used in abundance in Kiriplancts military. Most merchants just use the Camel.
>>
>>22430186
Yessssss ...

While Overseers are hostile to any Chaotic-bent race, this false-accociation with Orcs has acted as a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy, and any ruler that wants to employ many Overseers risks never seeing a Caravan again.
>>
>>22430186
racial slurs? yes. conflict is good.
(although, orcs being treated badly is nothing new. at all)
>>
>>22430209
Orcs are generally just mysterious holy men from the desert. Mostly psychics too. They aren't treated badly *much* because of their travelling caravans, rare merchendise, and fearsome warriors.
>>
>>22430183
Multiple species appear.

One of which, the Talaga, resembles a giant red eagle. It's wingspan is rumored to reach up to 36 ft and are feared predators. A small cult worships them and wanders the desert telling of their power and grace. They call themselves The Enlightened
>>
Oh only other race I can really think of as mining, would be the deadmen, but I think they should be rather rare on the surface.

>>22430209

If you want racial slurs, when I thought up People of the Vine, I also thought up Vinelings, which is a slur, maybe not just a slur, maybe a very common word for them.
>>
>>22430224
Oh, that works. Its more "fear what you don't know" then? ok, then yeah, i rescind any complaint i might have had. i like it.
>>
>>22430248
Weedlings should be the slur
>>
>>22430254
ooh, that's a good one
>>
>>22430254

Maybe a more extreme slur, Vineling being a very common, but still considered by them to be a disrespectful term.

>>22430205
Mercy, did I really really forget all those words?
>>22430209
Orcs getting treated like shit is due to their species' rotten luck. This extends into the Acidscape, and means that Orcs have a harder time getting the Acid on their sides -- and there are more drastic consequences when it reacts badly.
>>22430254
I think just "weeds" is a catchier slur. Just my two cents. Harsher slurs would be things like "dirt-feeder".
>>
>>22430262
twiggies? It could kind of like a way to call someone without being outright hostile? I really like weedlings though.
>>
>>22430262
I like that. They're still the most populous people, but it's like the word cracker being thrown at a white person in the ghetto. They think it's a joke we think it's about to mean I get shot. Weedling is usually used within the People of the Vines society to taunt weaker ones. Schoolyard bully status.
>>
>>22430284
Dirt feeder is fantastic.
Also River of Snakes sounds horrid! And awesome!
>>
You know, I'm sure we've gone past the bump limit again.

>>22430295

My original wording, was,
>one of the most populous

I was thinking roughly on par with humans or whatever was the most populous. Currently looking at the setting I think that humans and the Vines should be roughly on par with each other.
>>
>>22430300
Wow we have more than ten people looking at the google doc. haha awesome.
>>
>>22430284
>Diamond glaciers
I'm reminded doctor who. A planet made of seemingly diamonds, but deadly to humans.
It's such a great idea though. People would get pulled into the acidscape with stories of them, and come out forever changed (or never come out at all hahahaha)
>>
>>22430310
I like that. And makes sense.

I was also thinking that our common slang should mirror slang from the old west, the aussie outback, and most importantly Aborigine slang. Anyone else into this idea? I proposed it awhile ago but I don't want to add it if someone new doesn't like it.
>>
>>22430205
Oceans? that would shatter the mind of most inhabitants of the normal world, along the lines of
How the fuck can so much water exist?!?
>>
>>22430310

I must admit I am not entirely happy with People of the Vine as their name. Maybe something like Versileson is the actual word, but its hard to pronounce and just means people of the vine.
>>
>>22430335
man that really would...those would be the weirdest stories. Sure sure sure, rivers of snakes, hills made of skin, glaciers of diamonds...but seriously water only appears in Aquao
>>
>>22430335
Actually, that does bring up a very good point. on earth/other round realms, you can't see past the horizon. How would it work in the acidscape? asking cause i have no idea.

>>
>>22430348

Well, we could always go with, people think it isn't possible to see that far away, and thus make the light bend through their belief. It isn't the world that is curved, but the light. Also certain things may well always be visible, like the tree.
>>
A city exists that at first appears to be a Utopia but is actually filled with xenophobic, cannabilistic demon worshippers. Hell yeah cliche

Its likely to keep happening.

>>22430364
Y'know how our world has several suns and many, many moons? Well there is also the "King Moon", a vast orb that perpetually hangs on the "horizon". It is said to be omniscient.

Captcha: eneasiz SHE man.
I think Captcha's right, we should have a race of Amazonian warrior-women called the She Men of Eneas
>>
>>22430379
Think I'll have to agree with my bro here. May the Demon Bear overlook your dreams.
>>
The orcs and vinelings share a long and difficult to understand rivalry.

They both seem to be knowledge seeking peoples.
>>
More ideas for Acidscape features since my fatigued brain can't handle anything more complicated. Ideally, the Acidscape for each campaign would be different.
The sun is an eyeball; when it blinks, there is darkness. There is no night or day, only randomly-interspersed periods of light and dark.
Waterfalls can take any shape (and of course don't have to be made of water)
Cities whose buildings are full of miniature cities that become full-size when you enter them -- the idea of some things being concentric when they shouldn't be is disturbing sometimes

>>22430326
Give some examples of slang terms we could use. The idea sounds cool, but what exactly do you have in mind?
>>22430348
You see as far as you feel. If you feel that this ocean is indeed infinite, you can spend forever looking out over it, constantly seeing new parts of the ocean.
>>
>>22430326
Swag for items
Nunga for some nomadic race
Fair Dinkum for true or correct
>>
>>22430409
The Orcs already have a rivalry with the Overseers. Seems unfair to heap more shit on them.
>>
>>22430413

Well from the past thread
>Each gods have their own "dream" so each will exist in different realm.
And the acidscape would be all of those, and more. It would likely also have many more realms. Every dream a person can have exists there, somewhere, because it is the dream realm
>>
>>22430433
I'd like to see fair dinkum as a tier of item quality, and item quality referred to as swag quality (though I guess "swag quality" sounds super dorky).
>>
>>22430436

They were first written as
>No one knows the origin of these Orcs, or how they came to be the guardians of the Secrets. What is known is that the Secrets are powerful, and many eyes, Both mortal and godly, look to them with hunger.

So they sort of have a lot heaped onto them by their nature.
>>
>>22430436
Fair enough. This would be far less of a hate thing, more of a friendly rivalry I guess.

Also, what if we had a race that produces purely asexually?
>>
>>22430409
If the Vinelings need a foe, it should be the City-State of Kiriplact. The Vinelings hate and fear the Tyrant's men for the atrocities commited against them in the name of war.
>>
>>22430433
>>22430473
No swag please.
>>
>>22430486
Think pirate swag, not douchebag swag.
>>
>>22430478
Yeah, I know, I wrote that. What I mean is, the hatred on them should be political, rather than racial.
While a powerful Arch-Mage might seek to destory Orcs to learn their secret, the man in the street knows nothing of this, and views them as strange traders that sell the best beans.
>>
>>22430504
Still, people will just associate it with douchebags. No swag please.
>>
>>22430517
I have to agree. I hear it far to often for me to bring it into my life.
>>
>>22430479
I was thinking of something like this for an Acidscape monster: a giant snake whose primary method of attack is unleashing a wave of baby snakes through its mouth, which got turned into the river of snakes idea.
>>22430517
Looks like you're getting outgunned in the polls, though. And by poll I mean opinions of three people.
>>
Shit, as an Aussie it's decidedly harder to think of Aussie and Aboriginie slang words.

Druids still need more fleshing out don't they? What if they gain teiresias power by being able to see and manipulate the dreams of plants. Thus altering the physical world.
>>
>>22430506

Could only be a rivalry with a particular group of the vines, as they are one of the most populous races they should be varied.
>>
>>22430538
Nah, it's a fair 2 vs 2.

Also, one more veto and it goes out.

A smaller group of Vine-Sages have arisen to oppose this group, understanding how their at-first-glance noble cause will enviably lead them to ruin and self-destruction. They are the Void Lilly, and they teach clarity through emptiness.

>>
>>22430895
I would have thought so.

To the people of the Vine, small pollinating insects are both vital and rather shameful. Almost all Vine-homes have a hive hidden away at the back.
For a Vineling to share honey with another is the most intimate of acts reserved only for close "family" and friends.
>>

Um, no? at least I never meant them to be asexual. I really did mean for them to have genders. Kind of pointless to be Lady of the vines if there aren't gender differences.

Anyway most wizard schools should be in and around the tree at least, very near to the obelisk. But maybe not an All.

Also, in regard to "Lady of the Vines," as a Asexual race among traditional genders you'd naturally struggle with their nouns and pronouns.
A high up Vineling needs to have a title, and, male titles strike it as too brutish and authoritative, so they pick feminine ones. Baroness Lithe rather than Baron. Some would identify as genders, some would not.

Oh, one idea I had. Desh's greatest export is poetry. Halfling poetry is said to be the most beautiful, moving and, therefore, powerful literature. While a bard might slightly shift the sands of dreams with a story or verse, a great Desh poem can alter the very course of history if used correctly.

The most famous poem is "The Dance of Ages" which allows the reader to control the actor/manequin people from earlier. It's last owner, a great Elf Warrior, was killed by assassains, and it's current whereabouts is unknown.
>>
>>22431057

Still prefer them with genders, and will defend that they are born male or female. Course you cant tell until they are no longer saplings. Being born as seeds would make it hard to identify gender at "birth".

I've got an idea now, with all this Orc stuff.

(This is all purely lore.)
All Orcs and Lorcs came from one creature, created by the same folk that created the Orcs, a sort-of Adam and Eve prototype of both.

The Horcus.

The Horcus is a big, towering creature. I'm not talking Dragon sized, but i'm talking Giant-sized. It has four hooved legs and a lizards body. It has 2 arms, one holding a book for the Orcs knowledge and one holding a golden mace / baton with which to strike down disorder. The creature has a green skin, a crown and tall black hair. It has a pigs nose, 4 eyes (yes, he's got eyes on the back of his head) and tusks, as if those of a wild boar.

Horcus is generally depicted as surrounded by books and with hundreds of smaller humanoid servants of various races performing tasks around him in an orderly fashion.

He is worshipped by the Orcs for his knowledge and the keeping of it, and by the Lorcs for his love for order and the ability to find and eliminate whatever is causing disorder / chaos and what's not working right.

It is much common for Orc caravans to carry a Horcus statue with them. Some Orcs and / or Lorcs also have Horcus talismans. These talismans grant Horcus' blessing upon those Orcs / Lorcs but losing them means losing your honor.

Ahh I was hoping to make them the creations of the Griy Celestial. I had this idea that the secrets all came straight from the Griy.

Pretty sweet.
Though I think it'd be better the Horcus' personality was slightly different depending on whose telling the story. Orcish Bards portray him as a seeker of Secrets who was noble and just and fought tyrants, while Overseers view him as a protector of secrets, who made sure the fledgling people of the desert worked together and weren't killed by marauding beasts.

We can do both. We can make it so Horcus stands for protecting those secrets.
>>
>>22431341
I actually posted that awhile ago. Problem is your idea is awesome so I'm trying to find some way to combine them.
>>
>>22431341
I maintain the origins of the Secrets should be unknown. They're more powerful that way.

Just because they were made by that race, or whatever does not mean that anyone but a few of the orcs know that.

Can not come up with new ideas. Sinus pressure too high, can not brain.

Ahh Lady is gonna blow up like that poor warforged. Get some sleep bud, think I am going to also.

Hey.

Sand Relics will also appear underneath any large enough body of sand separated from the desert. Many noble houses of The City of Water will trade water for sand pound to pound in hopes of gaining a favorable artifact to give them luck over other families.

The accepted Dwarven goal to break open the Tower is to find a material that acts as a defined gate to the Acidscape and use it as an unstoppable weapon against anything in the waking world. Due to this most Dwarves are alchemists or purely scientific geologists. Though there is no reason all Dwarves inherently believe that the key to this material is in the undercities, and cannot trust anything that goes against this. More fervent Dwarves often develop mental instability from this conflict, resulting in paranoia-like states.

Albinos, born untouched by the sun, can never become psions, but as a whole develop more self reliance and sharper minds. Albinos inside of the Acidscape have deteriorating Memory Chains, often with a bent to becoming more cold, stoic, and inhumane.

The Great Demon of The Lost Ozymandias encompasses fears of spaces around a person, unawareness, fear of crowds, and obfuscation. He is regarded as one of the weaker Greater Demons, due to his Fears smaller effects in everyday life, but is said to have one of the only alliances between the Great Demons with the Great Demon Ursula, as one does not fear nothing when they see nothing, but the beasts that they may not.

The Demons of the Lost are more moving locations than any true beings, encompassing the ruins of patchwork hovels, discolored stalactites which seem to always fill the horizon, and endless rows of marble statues with no discernible features, even considering the many different forms inside of the Waking World.

I enjoy all of this.

The Dwarves are a somber and sober race due to being the only ones who really have any memories or stories of the times of the Ancients. Maybe they used to be great drinkers but the abstain from that in rememberance.

Eh, whoops. I guess you can consider these each one post if you don't mind, I was just kind of writing down these while I read through the whole thing

We're not adamant about that. And, for the most part, your stuff's good, so who gives a shit?

Okay, idea for Druid magic

Druids use a different form of storytelling magic, reinforcing ideas in their targets head in a cascading effect, until the target is moved to the purpose of this idea beyond their own belief/control, until reality surges back in and returns the target to their normal state. Druids can also use this to even greater effect on weaker willed creatures and themselves, fettering animals' emotions, or changing the nature of how bodies act, making punches into piercing blows, changing horizontal to vertical in their actions.

The Sun is a druid who successfully unfettered themselves from any real belief in the universe excepting the belief in this absence, and became a void of power devouring the ground it stood on, dooming itself to fall away from reality for eternity. To this day the black hole of belief in that one existence paints the edges of the waking world, and one hole with unscaleable walls from where The Sun fell. It is recommended not to look down the hole as The Sun is still very bright.

We have 12 suns, kind of doesn't fit with A sun being a druid. Also, sounds more like a psion than a druid.

Yeah, didn't read the first thread before this, the Druid magic also sounds like Fighters using the Aggression veins so they're probably out.
