Walking through the dark, farms to each side of you, you approached the city of Lys. Right outside of the city was the sandborn caravan, where you and your friends were staying the night. Tannis was walking behind you, silently, her head hung low and her hands clasped together. Ever since she'd donned the six silver bands around her ankles, forearms, and upper arms, she'd been acting strangely, almost awkwardly, her entire body tense.

Suddenly, she grabbed your shoulder, and dug her fingers in- it was mildly painful, but the pain tingled and burned, making it seem less so- like the Aqua Ignis you'd drunk earlier today was still affecting you.
"... Sorry. ... Do you mind? This... helps." Tannis said, after a moment, her voice low- she was almost breathing her words, instead of speaking them. A moment later, she pulled her hand away, refusing to meet your eyes.

> I didn't get any sleep last night.
This thread is going to be perfect, the kind of thread I've dreamed since exabutt first quested sleep deprivated.

"It's okay, I can handle it."

Also, why is she wearing them?
She just said that her mother wore them before...
>>
>>22375571
>I hear large volumes of whiskey helps sleep.
"No, no, I don't mind. Go ahead."
>>
>>Fun fact- I was sleep deprived the first time I ran NearFuture Cyborg.

"No, no, It's okay, go ahead." You say. "I can handle the pain."
"... Reminds me of Astora." She said, digging her fingers into your shoulder again. "Saying 'it's just pain.'"
She shook her head, and together, the two of you made your way back to the caravan.
"I hope you don't mind." She said, quietly. "But I won't be sleeping tonight. The new moon is making me too..." She trailed off, and shook her head." I'm going to go see if I can talk to Kale. He's easier to be near, when I'm like this. And maybe I can see if he can read that book we found."

She gave you another strange, tense hug, and then crept away, toward where Kale and the dissected dragon parts were. You sit down near the bonfire and find Cass sitting there. Her golden sunlight dress had vanished at sundown, and so she'd borrowed some cotton and the strange, black straps of leather that the sandborn wear, cobbling whatever clothing she could into something passable, revealing her muscled midriff.
"My eyes are up here." Cass said, a grin in her voice. "Come on, sit down."
You do so, and she leaned back, eyes half-lidded.
"I'm in a really good mood." She said. "Slaying a dragon, going berserk, and I only took half a day to wake back up. I've accomplished things that most people never have- or will."
>>

"You have indeed. Any idea what you want to do with your dragon pieces?"
>>
>>22375721
"Remind me not to make you too angry."
>>
>>22375721
"I think that's worth getting a tattoo over."
>>
"You have indeed." You say. "Any idea what you want to do with your dragon pieces?"
"Well, we can't lug it around." She said. "So... have someone make the scales into armor, smoke as much of the meat as we can. Sell the rest, if we can. I don't know how useful the body will be, really. They're supposed to be magical, aren't they? Maybe dragon bone or dragon blood might come in handy. Astora would know more."
"Remind me not to make you too angry."
"Just a reminder- Don't make me too angry." She responded immediately.
"... You know, I think that's worth getting a tattoo over." You say, after a moment.
"Maybe, but troll regeneration, remember? Next time I get angry, the ink will all get pushed out. Tannis's dad told me about the time she got tattooed. And I'm not sure if I want to risk putting cold iron in the ink- it might slow my regeneration entirely, when I really need it."

Dragonscale-shard tipped arrows. Not a bad idea.
>>
"True, better safe than dead." You say.
"That's what I figured." She said.
"How was the sunlight thing?"
"The dress Kale made?" She asked. "It didn't suit me. I mean, it was interesting how warm it was, and I'm thankful he gave it to me, but I really disliked it. Even this leather ensemble is better. It's tighter on me, which I like."
"Hmm... I wonder if one could make a bow of dragongut and bone..."
"... That's actually a really good idea." Cass said. "Jaeden had this whole way of cutting slivers out of horns and bones and stuff, and laquering it into place to make bows... I don't remember exactly how, though..."

"Well, we could always give it a try, couldn't we? Want to help?"

"Well, we could always give it a try, couldn't we? Want to help? Do you have a rough idea of the shape of the tools he used?"
"I'm really not very good at this sort of thing." She said. "I've, um, ruined entire projects before."
"Well, we could look for a good weapon and armor crafter in the city." You say. "Shouldn't cost too much to make what we want when we provide the material."
"Yes. Let's do that instead." She said suddenly, as if the idea was a beacon of hope. "Tomorrow."

>>
"But only after we find the market and sell the dragon meat." You say. "Putting it's head on display should attract a crowd."
"I thought you were supposed to mount the heads of creatures you've hunted up on your mantle." She said, with a grin. "But yeah, that should help us find some buyers. Maybe Tannis or her father could help guide us around the city."
"I'm looking forward to tomorrow." You say. "Will be a nice change from boring desert."
"Maybe we'll go somewhere that isn't so dry, next." She said, with a slight grin. "But I'm going to go dunk my head in some water or something. Sleep well, Abel."

You make your way away from the fire, passing the sleeping Ariana and Tori, and passing Kale and Tannis, who were both talking, before you get to your bedroll and lay back. As usual, the moment you decided to sleep, you were asleep.

---
Your dream, this time, was strange. It wasn't one with Gabriel, or the voices in your blade, or anything abnormal like that.

This time, your dream was of Lyra.
She stood there, on the front end of a ship, wearing light mail of chain and plate, blonde hair streaming out every which way, a long, naked sword in her hands.
"Are you sure?" She asked a knight, brushing her hair out of her eyes.
>Field too long!
>>
>>22376297
"I'm certain." Crios's voice responded from underneath the knight's helmet. "She is, after all, the sister of a noble, and your brother is taking care of her. And a little birdie told me that he's been quite busy."
"And you can take care of things here?" She asked.
"Oh, don't worry." Crios said, and chuckled. "I'll be fine."

Lyra nodded to the captain of the ship, and the ship shook, sailing away from Angvard.
---
You wake up to Tannis snoring on your chest, nibbling on your arm in her sleep, the dawn's light shining into your eyes. It looked like the sandborn were rousing, but your group seemed to be sleeping in.
>>
>>22376305
Nibbling with teeth?

Get up, grab some food, and wear tannis like a scarf.

See if we can find Talbot and ask him about help with the dragonmeat stall.
>>
>>22376332
She's humanoid form in now.
And no, nibbling with her fucking tail.

Ruffle her hair to wake her up "Morning Tantan."
>>
>>22376305
We should probably wake everyone up.

I guess the sister's coming to find us.
>>
With a ruffle of Tannis's hair, you wake her up. She twitches, and then opens an eye, staring at you with bloodshot eyes for a full three seconds, before closing them and lying back down.
With a few more ruffles and one shoulder-shaking, you finally wake Tannis up, while Kale wakes up the others
"So." Ariana said. "Do we get to explore the city today?"
"What do you mean 'do we'?" Astora asked. "This is your coming of age. Make your own decisions, Ari."
"Right, okay." Ariana said, and licked her lips. "I'm going to go explore Lys later on. Anyone who wants to join me is welcome to."
"Me and Abel need to sell whatever of the dragon we can, I think." Cass said, meeting your eyes.
"I can show you around I guess." Tannis mumbled, itching her ear, still in human form. She shook herself awake.
Kale just grinned, though his grin was unusual- he almost seemed positively *beaming* today.
>>
>>22376472
"Excited, Kale?"
>>
>>22376472
Something happen, Kale? You look like someone could make clothes from your presence, you're shining that much.
>>
>>22376472
"Could you show us to the market, Tannis?"

"Think anyone will believe it's dragon meat?"
>>
"Excited, Kale? You look like someone could make clothes from your presence, you're shining that much."
"I have... a feeling." He said. "That something good will happen today. The desert is telling me that something good will happen."
"Could you show us to the market, Tannis?"
"Yeah, I can." She said, nodding. "It's next to the arena."
"Think anyone will believe it's dragon meat?" You ask Cass. In return, she reached into one of the wagons, and taking a deep breath, clenching her teeth, she hefted the enormous dragon head onto her shoulder.
"Yes." She said, with a fierce grin. "Carry the spare meat, will you?"
Slinging the borrowed bags onto your shoulder, the group made their way into the city.

"And this is one of the many tattoo shops in the city." Tannis said, nodding to a nearby building, as tattooed atlaskans gave Cass's dragon head a wide berth. "The woman in here has a good reputation, and she's worked here as long as I can remember."
"... I want to check it out." Ariana said. "I'll hang out here until you're done at the market."
"I'll go too." Astora said. "I want to see what this tattoo artist says about my hand."
"I'll help you sell things." Kale said, with a grin, and Tannis continued leading you. The rest of you continued on until you reached the marketplace, and you can see a butchery shop, the butcher's eyes rather wide.
"Er... miss... would that be... the green dragon of the eastern forest?"
"I've heard him called Darjeh and Scaleface." Cass responded.
>>
>>22376583
It's pretty good eating, but there's far too much for us.

>So, my friends, should we get a tattoo for Abel? I think we should, something representing either our companions of the things we've done (killed a kraken/dragon, perhaps?)
>>
>>22376583
"You're correct, good sir, and this fine young lady here finished what my father started twenty years ago. Ever tasted Dragon?"
>>
>>22376628
>I'm for a tattoo, could be cool.
After we've finished negotiating "Do you happen to know any weaponsmiths in town?"
>>
"You're correct, good sir." You say. "It's pretty good eating, but there's far too much for us. Ever tasted dragon?"
"... You intend to sell it?" The butcher asked, eyes wide. As people started to crowd, eying the dragon, he spoke up. "Ten gold for the lot. Hasn't anybody tasted dragon in decades, and I'll pay for the privilege- and so will my customers."
Cass's eyebrows rose, and she glanced to you, and started to whisper.
"I have no idea how much that is." She said. "Do we take it?"
>>
>>22376709
"We got about 5 gold for the Kraken horns. I think it's a pretty good deal."
>>
>>22376709
"Thirteen. It nearly cost us more than wealth, just to bring it down."
>>
>>22376709
How about we hang around with the skull, and take half of what you sell it for?
>>
>>22376709
Whisper back to her, "Never hurts to barter."

to him: "How about fifteen? It's self spicing you know. Here, Llet me give you a free sample." and cut him off a little sliver of meat.

You lean forward and whisper back. "We got about five gold for the kraken horns. I think it's a pretty good deal, but it never hurts to barter"
"Okay." She whispered back. You turn to the merchant and speak up.
"How about fifteen? It's self-spicing, you know." You say. "Here, let me give you a free sample."
With a knife, you slash off a small sliver of meat, and hand it to him. He takes a bite, and his eyebrows meet.
"It nearly cost us more than wealth, just to bring it down." You say.

"Hmm... I'm afraid I can only spend ten gold." He said. "I don't have quite as many coins as that, adventurers."
"Well... are you certain?" Cass asked, a disdainful look on her face. She shrugged, and turned to leave.
"... Well, I can spare thirteen." He said, speaking up. Cass froze, and looked back.
"You have yourself a deal." She said, and the man transferred the coins as you hefted the bag of dragon meat to him. Luckily, you didn't have to strip out the bones or wait for the butcher to- Kale and Tannis had already done that.
"Well." Cass said, tossing you roughly half of the coins, seemingly unbothered by the enormous dragon head on her shoulder- trollish strength was definitely in action here. "That was a lot easier than I thought."
"I think you did well, for not knowing the worth of coin." Kale said, with a smile.
"Could you hear me whispering to Abel?" Cass asked, suddenly alarmed.
"No, it's just that you were raised in a swamp without commerce." Kale said. "It's evident that you wouldn't know."
"... Oh." She said.
Tannis, meanwhile, was slipping off the bands around her arms and ankles, slipping them into a pouch, rubbing at her wrists.
"I feel much better." The maenad said, stretching, still in human form.

Don't be mean to Cass. Everyone has to do things for a first time, and this first time was with one of the rarest available situations.

New moon's over?

"There you go, Cass, you're thirteen gold richer now!"

"Shall we find a blacksmith to deal with the scale armor?"
>>
>>22377012
She gave half to us.

"So Tantan, are you going to continue to wear them?"
>>
"New moon's over?" You ask.
"No, there's one more night." She said. "But it's daylight, right now, so it won't bother me. The silver isn't exactly comfortable. Like someone scritching your fur the wrong way."
"There you go, Cass, you're seven gold richer now!" You say. "Shall we find a blacksmith to deal with the scale armor?"
"Yes, let's." Cass responded.
"Right, blacksmith, blacksmith..." Tannis said, looking this way and that. Her ears poke out of her hair, and she suddenly points. Everyone follows the direction she was pointing, and you see a buff, masculine man, his teeth pointed and his eyes the same bright green as Cass's. He had a long tail, complete with six spikes. For a moment, Cass's eyes widened. He was currently twisting metal into loops, making a set of chainmail, using his claws instead of any tools. When he notices you, he sets the chainmail it on the lit coals, and nods.
"Hello." He said to the group. "Welcome to my shop. My name is Ode. I have shields, armor, weapons, silver and gold holy items, needles, cables, and anything we don't have, my father and I can make it."
>>
>>22377086
>Tantan
Just stop, anon. Her name is Tannis, and it always will be.

>>22377136
We were looking to have a bow forged.
>>
>>22377136
"Pleased to meet you, Ode. I'm Abel, this is Cass, Tannis and Kale. We were travelling here when we encountered a Dragon. We'd like to know if you can use it's scales to make armour and arrowheads."
>>
>>22377178
"as well as a bow from dragongut and dragonbone."
>>
>>22377136
"Nice to meet you Ode.

I recently came into the possession of a dead dragon, I was hoping to make armor and arrow heads from the scales and use the bone and sinew to make a bow. I was wondering if you could help with this or direct me to those who could?"
>>
"Pleased to meet you, Ode." You say. "I'm Abel, this is Cass, Tannis, and Kale. We were traveling here when we encountered a dragon. We'd like to know if you can use it's scales to make armour and arrowheads.
"And maybe a bow, out of dragon bone." Cass added.
The blacksmith put his hand on his chin, then looked down to the chainmail.
"One moment." He said, nodded to you, and made his way up to the second floor of the blacksmith shop. When he came back down, you saw someone... strange. A bright green creature of scale, with two arms, massive claws, and a spiked tail. It's head reminded you somewhat of a crocodile, and it was heavily built.

"Dragon scale?" The troll asked, tilting it's head. It held out it's hands. "Let me see it."
You reach into your bags and pull out some of the scale, and the troll examined it closely, poking and prodding at it with his finger.
"Yes." He said, and took your dragon scale upstairs. "I can do this. However, I cannot make you a bow. Ode, deal with the payment. I do not care how cheap it is- it is worth it to work on this."
The blacksmith sighed. "My father, as you can see, is not a businessman. Seven gold for the armor, I suppose, and five copper per arrow."
>>
>>22377336
should have saved some of the meat and paid him with it, i think.

How about a round 6 for the armor, and we'll take a dozen arrows
>>
>>22377336
"He seems like a lovely man devoted to his craft.

Do you know who I would see for the bow?

As for the pricing, is there a chance of haggling? Your father already seems quite keen on the idea of working with the scale and I would hate for him not to have the chance."
>>
Let's go with the seven gold because fucking dragonscale armour.
>>
>>22377336
Five.

Does Cass want armour as well?
>>
the armor's for Cass, right?
>>
>>22377441
I'm not sure, there ought to be enough for both of us to get armor out of it.
>>
"He seems like a lovely man devoted to his craft." You say.
"Yep, that's him alright." Ode said.
"Is there any chance I could get a second set?" You ask.
"Hmm.... It's likely, yes." He said. "If you purchase two, I suppose the cost will be merely ten gold. Likely since my father will make two sets anyway- he loses himself, sometimes. but he'll need more scale."
Kale tosses you a bag, and you pull more scale out of it.
"... well.." He said. "Yes, ten gold for two sets of armor. Is this fine with you?"
"I'll pay for my set." Cass said.
"Well, it will take some time for us to work." Ode said. "Come back tomorrow, and we should have everything ready. It'll be a relief to work on something except scimitars for a change."
He turned to you. "So, two sets?"
>>
>>22377556
"Sure."

We should get him to look at the sword, while we're here.
>>
>>22377556
"Yes, thank you. Do you know anyone who could make a bow from the materiel?"
>>
>>22377556
"That sounds good.

I have a sword, it's in excellent shape but I was wondering if you could tell me of the era of its construction and design?

And I do still want a bow, is there anyone in particular I ought to see for that?"
>>
>>22377556
Whisper to Cass "Don't you want to ask if there are some troll tricks for surviving in the climate?"
>>
>>22377653
eh, we can just ask.

"I'm impressed that trollkin live so well down here, I'd have thought it was too dry to be comfortable."
>>
"Yes, thank you." You say, and give him five coins. "I have a sword."
"So I see." He responded, dryly.
"It's in excellent shape, but I was wondering if you could tell me of the era of it's construction and design?"
"Right." He said, and tore it out of your sheath, twirling it in his palm. He laid it down on a nearby table, and started examining it... before handing it back.
"I'm afraid I can't tell you much." He said. "I haven't seen a style like that before, but the steel is superb. Better than anything I've ever seen. Better than I even believed possible. The weapon isn't indestructible, but... I could take any weapon I've ever made against that thing, and each time, my own weapon would break first."
"Thank you." You say. "And I do still want a bow. Is there anyone in particular I ought to see for that?"
"I'm afraid we don't use bows much here in Atlask..." He said, tapping his chin. "There is a tattoo artist who was from the Free Cities, and it was said she was a hunter. Perhaps she knows someone- or perhaps she could make one for you."
>Field too long!
>>
>>22377727
You nod. "I'm impressed that trollkin live so well down here. I'd have thought it was too dry to be comfortable."
"I've lived here my entire life, so i'm used to the environment." Ode said. "But my father does have issues, at times. Which is why he keeps a bathtub of brackish mud to sleep in."
"Mud?" Cass asked. "Do you think that would help?"
"It helps my father." Ode responded. "Apparently it helps more than dunking himself into water."
"I see." She said, and gave him five gold coins. "Thank you, Ode."
"Of course." He responded. "Your armor will be ready tomorrow."
>>
>>22377744
"Thanks, Ode!"

"Is there anything anyone wants to see or do? I wouldn't mind going to visit the tattoo place now."
>>
>>22377744
"Thank you Ode. I wish you and your father a good day. Do you need measurements for us? By the way Cass sometimes changes size and that might change the measurements."
>>
"Thank you, Ode. I wish you and your father a good day."
"You as well." He said, and nodded.

The group makes their way out of the blacksmith shop, Kale still grinning.
"Is there anything anyone wants to see or do?" You ask. "I wouldn't mind going to visit the tattoo place now."
"Well, maybe sometime today we could watch some of the fights in the arena." Tannis said.
"Do they let you fight in the arena?" Cass asked, and Tannis nodded.
"I tried once, but they have rules against using magic." Tannis said. "And I'm not very good without my claws. So I lost."
"Well, maybe we can go to the tattoo place, and grab Ariana and Astora." Cass said. "And then we all can watch Abel fight."

"I'm a hunter, not a fighter!"
>>
"It's nice to know that I have a choice in the matter." You say, and Cass laughed.
"I'm not exactly sure I'm on board with fighting in the arena yet. Are the fights lethal? What would I be up against? I've already fought one bear and I'm not exactly looking to fight another."
"The fights aren't lethal." Tannis said. "They use some kind of magic to heal people after they get hurt badly. And people *usually* only fight other people."
"I guess I could be convinced, but you'd have to pay the entry fee."
"Gladly!" Kale said. "We can all chip in. I can't wait to see Abel fight."
"I'm a hunter, not a fighter!" You say.
"... you say the day after dodging an innumerable amount of a wizard's stolen gifts to stab him with your sword." Cass said, dryly.
You sigh, and make your way back to the tattoo place. When you finally get there, Ariana was leaning forward, an ankh tattooed onto her back, while Astora smeared something on that patch of skin. There was a tall, darkskinned woman there, with high cheekbones and covered in strange, tribal markings. her hair was copper and tied back, and something about her seemed... predatory.

"... Oh my." Kale said. He wasn't smiling.
The woman, meanwhile, eying Kale, *was* smiling, with pointed teeth and fangs.

The burst of movement came suddenly, as the woman turned into a wolf and charged, just as Kale turned into an elk and darted out of the store, adroitly weaving through pedestrian traffic.

"... I was trying to get a bow and maybe a tattoo, and suddenly Kale gets chased by a woman who turns into a wolf." You say, looking back. "That was probably his lover."

"Probably." Cass said.
"Definitely." Tannis added. "Kale's been beaming all day. Said he felt something in the city."
"We should probably catch them."
"Probably."

As you give chase, the wolf and elk charged through the city, Kale running wildly, panicked, while the wolf's tail was wagging, her mouth open and tongue lolling out. You sling your bow off your back and nock an arrow, just in case.

Finally, Kale ends up cornered by the wolf, and so he does something you thought impossible- he leaped toward a wall, springing off of it with his hooves, and with typical elven grace, did a backflip *over* the wolf, charging right past you.
The wolf, however, leapt and knocked the elk over. the world shimmered, and Kale, once again an elf, and the woman, once again in the form you'd seen. Only then do you notice that she had pointed ears, and unnatural amber eyes.
>Field too long! Again!

"... Well." Kale said. "You win this time."
"You know it." She said, her voice low, and nibbled on his ear, before getting to her feet, and pulling him to his. "Took you too long to find me in the first place."
"... I lost track of time in the barrow." Kale said, and scratched his head, his cheeks going red.
"... So you wasted twenty years because you were reading that damn book again." She said, and flicked his ear. Kale twitched.
"... Yes." He responded.
"Oh well. At least it wasn't as bad as the other time." She said. "Come on back to the shop, and you can tell me about your adventuring party."

"... And finally, this is Abel." Kale said, brandishing his hand to you.
"Look at his eyes." The elven woman said- you still didn't know her name, and she hadn't yet said a word to anyone but Kale.
"Yeah, I saw." Kale responded.
"So have you fucked him yet?"

"Okay, so... Kale, would you like to introduce your friend?"
"I'll introduce myself." The woman said, shooting you a predatory grin. "My name is Leez. I'm Kale's wife."

"Oh, your eyes *are* pretty, sweetie, but that's not why we're interested in them." She said. "We're interested in them for an entirely different reason."
Kale sighed.
"Specifically, because we once knew a young boy named Ezekiel." She said, hissing in your ear, arms still wrapped around you despite your struggling. "His eyes were green, of course, but... his had the same... twinkle."

You give Kale a hopeful glance, asking him to win your freedom with his eyes... and he sighs again, shaking his head.

"I do." She said, and one of her ears wiggled. "But it'll... cost you." She said. "And it won't cost you gold, no no..."

"What?!" Leez said, suddenly exasperated. She rolled her eyes. "Fine. You'll get your bow. "Well, that's less entertaining." Leez said.
"But he killed the wizard that came with it." Ariana said.
"That's much more entertaining!" The elven woman said.
"... Also, I already got my boon. I'm slightly confused here. Is there some sort of boon sharing ritual between elves?"
"He *did* warn you that we elves play unknowable games." The elven woman said. "Just think of this as one of them."

You turn to Kale. "Why didn't you tell me that you knew my father?"
"I didn't even think of telling you." Kale said. "It didn't seem relevant. I apologize."
"Kale never knew your father like I did. That sparrow never stayed in one place- always wandered from place to place. I followed him most of the way here, then he fought a dragon, and up and vanished on me." Leez said. "Kale likely didn't even recognize you at first. "In only twenty years?" She asked, eyes wide. "Such short lives."
Just to make sure Tannis was alive, you scritch her ear, and she closed her eyes, cheeks going red.
"Petting a maenad on new moon?" Leez asked. "Nevermind, you're not shy. It's like you *want* to be pounced..."
She considered something for a moment, and then her grin started to grow- but Kale shot her a glare, and she huffed.
"Fine, fine, bow first." She said. "Materials?"

Tannis unslung the bag on her shoulder, and opened it, pulling out the dragon bones and some sinew.
"... This will work." She said, and grabbed at your belt, snatching some knives off of it.

"It seems like so many of the people I meet knew my father, when I never got to know him that well. He never told me about his adventures. Could you tell me more about him? Did he have any significant tattoos that he never showed me or that I have forgotten about?"
"Sparrow never had tattooes." She said. "Because they were supposed to mean something important, and he always said he hadn't done anything important yet. But he's done a few things that was rather interesting... He fought a Forged, once, and then pulled it open and somehow... Killed it. Then changed it. Then fixed it. We traveled with it for a while. Left it behind for some reason or other."
"... I don't remember this." Kale said.
"You weren't there at the time." Leez said.

Ankh represents love as well, like the wolf we have our little band of friends who care a great deal about. i'd say that would make the ankh fit in nicely.
>>
>>22378845
Why not both? We can get multiple tattoos, we're not in a huge hurry. And it'll give us a chance to hear stories about our father, scritch Tannis with our free arm and chat with the rest of the party.

So my father was a dragon hunting ladies man who went on adventures with elves and robots which he fixed with his own hands. And he never told me and never said he did anything important. I have a lot to live up to."

So, tattoos. A wolf does sound good, it works with our character and it makes sense to put it on our sword arm. The angellic sword, with the sword design obviously based on the sword we carry, points to our origin, either on our back or chest.

I could see an ankh working as well, either upper arm of our non-dominant arm or chest/back like the sword.

The Forged was in parts, it's veins strewn about the ground."

You nod... but continue scratching Tannis.

Everyone- even Tannis- gave you a Look.

>>22379272

>>
>>22379152
Stirge might work but I'd rather not get that one him. He focuses just as much on the protection and caring for strangers as he does the emphasis on duty, patriotism, and "no fun allowed" that some of his adherents follow. I'm worried about getting a tattoo of a chain sending mixed messages.

But I don't particularly mind it so if others want it I can live with that. Probably a chain around the other arm.

>>22379206
I think we should get one. We're not our father, and we have things that are worth it. Our companions, how they see us, saving a little girl from danger and protecting her.

I say wolf, sword, and while I'm not voting for anything else I don't really mind.

>>22379235
"But she's far too much fun to pet for me to stop.

Did my father ever talk about angels, strange dreams, or concepts, ideas, and machinery that felt like they belonged to a time period that hasn't yet come?"
>>
>>22379307
I think we should.
>>
>>22379235
Let's not get any tattoo at all whatsoever.

Also note that the Stirge we're sending a message to and the Stirge that the people know of represent different things. We'd be branding ourselves with the symbol of patriotism, for a country we don't belong to.
>>
During the resulting silence, you stand there, watching her make the bow, and think...
You could get a chain for Stirge- to show her that you forgive her for killing you- not to mention she's the god of protection.
You could get a wolf. Ariana's fairly certain that would be your familiar, and you do protect your 'pack'.
You could get angel wings... For some reason, in the back of your mind, the idea of wings and angels just... go together, and you're not sure why.
You think for some time, and you come to the conclusion...

Sword with the wings. Like in >>22379424 but with the sword design that of the sword we carry. Put that on our back, it's the best place to fit it.

Wolf on our dominant arm, make sure to tell Leez not to just do a self-portrait and to make it look protective and so on.

I'm not voting for chains, but if we do end up getting them a linked chain on the upper arm of our non dominant arm.
>>
>>22379516
Yeah, that sounds pretty good if it's just simple like that.
>>
>>22379424
This seems most fitting
>>
>>22379369
Pretty much all these choices are shit. Chains is some BDSM shit. Wolves? Gay. Wings? Gay.

none.
>>
>>22379531
I really like this one.
>>
Rolled 9

Rolling to see if we cry while getting a tattoo, and if so, how hard.
>>
>>22379369
We haven't really done anything spectacular yet, so I'm going to have to say none as well.
>>
>>22379617
Looks like we cry like a bitch.
>>
>>22379565

You realize "other" was an option, right?
Also, are you twelve?
>>
>>22379531
changing vote to this
>>
>>22379531
this is awesome.
>>
>>22379531
this is just a complete overload. you remember what they said about tatto's right, it's for memories, not just something you do because it's cool.
>>
>>22379673
these suggestions do all seem a little... much.
>>
>>22379369
I already voted None, but I'm agreeing with >>22379673. These things are meant to be for the things you've done and the memories you've gained. The only thing's we've done are killed a few overgrown creatures.
>>
>>22379508
Changing my vote to nothing, chains are also gay.
>>
>>22379726
well weve been an angel for thousands of years, has it not been something to remember? every time we get our legendary weapon and this time its our sword. i think the sword and wings would be good to fit it.
>>
>FUCK. Lost my post.
>Anyway, sword with wings wins.
>>
>>22379743
No we haven't. We aren't sure. We have no knowledge of previous lives. The Sword isn't a legendary weapon either.
>>
>>22379770
have you not been here for the last 19 posts?
also the sword is really tough, its ancient in nature, contains two creatures almost god like and writes the story of one who holds it. if that is not legendary explain what is
>>
>>22379770
It kinda is, it's the Avatar, it changes every time we do this and our consciousness is based on whoever holds it. It's important as all fuck and legendary as hell. Kale said that it's ancient as all hell and came from the heart of the world at the beginning of things.
>>
"I've decided." You say, looking up- Everyone looked at you.
"Oh?" Astora asked.
"About which tattoo to get." You say, and grab a small bit of parchment, scribbling out a simple bit of what you want. Leez takes a look, and raises an eyebrow. "That a symbol of your god?"
"Not... exactly." You say. "It's closer to a symbol of who I am."
"Seems a bit much." Leez said, all business now. "But I can do it- though I'll trim it down to simple, bold lines. Angular for the blade, softly curving for the wings... Take off your shirt. And everyone else, get out. No gawping."

Some time later, your back stung, as she wiped down your back, as you examined it in a silvered bit of glass she called a mirror- a simple sword, with sprawling angel wings reaching outward. Soon enough, she tossed you your shirt back.
"I'd normally charge you." She said, and then jerked her head toward the door. "But from what I can tell, you've taken good care of Kale. But now I'll get back to your boon. Stay in the city tonight and I'll bring it tomorrow. Make sure to leave a window open in Kale's room for me."
>>
>>22379770
The sword is the thing that made us start this journey. Without it we wouldn't even be here. The sword is the beginning of our journey. A journey can be symbolized by wings.

I like it.
>>

>>22379754
draw the sword, look at it carefully

"well, this little piece of metal started my life down this path; and I've been called an angel because of it; give me this blade with the wings of an angel,."
>>
>>22379871
"Thanks a bunch, I'll make sure to do that."
>>
>>22379871
>"About which tattoo to get." You say,
I can almost hear their faces fall.

"I'll pay you anyway, I have far too much money at the moment, I'm liable to get robbed."

"Kale has done more then gift me with a boon."
>>
Rolled 36

>>22379871
"we're staying outside the city, and kale tends to stay up and about around the caravan."

"if you intend to return him to us please leave him in one mostly undamaged piece and preferably before we move on tomorrow."
>>
>>22379871
"Thank you very much. I'll be sure to leave the window open.

I can see why Kale fell in love with you."

Don't bother putting our shirt back on, they're going to want to see anyways.

What else should we do in the city? Maybe take the girls shopping.
>>
>>22379945
No, keep the shirt on, make them work for it if they want to see it.
>>
>>22380014
True.
>>
"Thank you very much." You say. "I'll be sure to leave the window open."
"... Or you could just send him in here." She said. "I can close early... Or maybe you could send that flameclawed witch, too. the three of us would have some fun... "
She started tapping her chin, and you took that chance to sneak out before she grabbed you again.

You don't bother putting your shirt on, because the time you got out there, Ariana, Astora, Cass, and Tannis were all clamouring to see how it came out, and there were plenty 'oous' and 'aahs', mostly from Tannis and Ariana; Mostly because Astora and Cass were less focused on the tattoo, more on the rest of you.

"What else should we do in the city?" You ask, tossing your tunic back on.
"Arena!" Tannis said, grinning. "We'll win money if we win."
>>
>>22380044
"Alright, sounds like you'd all enjoy seeing me get beaten up."
>>
>>22380044
We? I'm doing all the work.

bet you 15 gold that gabe's going to be in the arena somewhere
>>
>>22380056
Nah, he's fiddling with his bronze bot army
>>
>>22380056
or the guy in dream
wth was that dream about anyways?
>>
>>22380056
I saw that coming from the instant the arena was mentioned
>>
>>22380044
"Fine, I'll get beat up for your amusement. The things I do for you girls. I'll be putting armor back on before I fight, I hope you aren't too disappointed."

>>22380071
He's polishing his bronze control rod.
>>
>>22380086
Ciros and Lyra? That's the Pallabro and our sister.
>>
"We?" You ask. "I'm doing all the work."
"Nonsense." Cass said. "I'm entering too."
"As am I." Astora said, with a grin. "I won't use my gifts, but I won't need to."
Kale started laughing, then gave Tannis a glance. "Aren't you entering?"
"Well... I might..." Tannis said.
"Don't worry, if anybody gets really badly hurt, I can make sure nothing goes wrong." Ariana said. "Fighting isn't bad if it isn't born of hatred."
"... Okay, I may as well enter too." Tannis responded.
>>
>>22380124
oh i just didnt know who ciros was, i mustave missed that
>>
>>22380145
"Sounds fun!"
"Lead the way, Tannis."
>>
>>22380145
Oh dear. With you as my opponents, I might have trouble winning.
>>
>>22380145
Let's knock some skulls
>>
>>22380145
"Well this sounds like a fun time. It'll be nice to fight something that isn't a dragon or a wizard. Have fun, don't get hurt, win.

We'll probably end up fighting each other at some point, I want you all to give it your all against me and I'll do the same for you.

Lead the way."
>>
Someone's going to have to look after our stuff.
>>
"Oh dear." You say. "With you as my opponents, I might have trouble winning."
"Obviously." Astora said.
"... Sounds fun!" You say, and turn to Tannis. "Lead the way."

"Tell me who wins." Kale said, with a nod. "I have a wife to get back to. I hope you all understand."
He blurred, and then made his way back toward the tattoo shop.

Meanwhile, you, Tannis, Ariana, Astora, and Cassandra, make your way to the Arena.
Astora, Tannis, and Cassandra meet eyes... and you had a chilling feeling that they'd discussed this while you were getting your tattoo.

The feeling wasn't a good one.

>End of thread!
>>
>>22380145
"Will they let me take the sword in with me? I'd...rather not leave it unattended."
>>
>>22380197
Oh no, they're going to say whoever wins gets first crack at us.
>>
>>22380197
Thanks for running, Exa!
>>
>>22380197
whoever wins gets us and the others stop?
>>
>>22380197
Well, I'm not sure what they're planning, but I'm sure it involves us somehow. And we may get pounced by any combination of the three by the end of the night.
>>
>>22380197
thanks for running the quest exabyte
>>
>>22380239
>>22380227
Obviously. The real question is why was Tannis not going to enter?
The best girl should be in the running, I'd even let her win.
>>
>>22380197
>"I have a wife
I thought he had a lover?
>>
So what happens to their wager when we beat all of them?
>>
>>22380298
We are treated like a leper and everybody beats us up and spits on us
>>
>>22380298
Then they all end up in our bed.

>>22380285
He usually calls her lover, but he called her wife that time. Maybe he considers her his lover when he's wandering around a lot, and wife when he's going to be staying with her.
>>
>>22380361
So how do we manage to get the two chocolate elves in as well?
>>
>>22380391
I don't think they need to win anything, we'd just have to ask politely.
>>
>>22380391
If we want to sleep with them we could probably just say "Kale, Leez, I think you're both very attractive and I want to fuck you both." or alternatively "Kale, Leez, I think you're both very attractive and want to fuck you both, Astora, Cass, and Tannis at the same time. You game?"
>>
>>22380415
Not even that. We'd just have to vaguely imply interest.
>>
>>22380450
I think we should start referring to Leez as 'Tits McGee'.
>>
>>22380787
Nah, Kale's beggar woman form is 'Tits McGee'.

"Kale, Leez, I think you're both very attractive and want to fuck you both, Astora, Cass, and Tannis at the same time. You game?"

but how do we get Astora, Cass on board ?
>>
>>22383574
You, I like you.
>>
>>22383574
It's getting worse? The scales in the corner disappeared, but now it has a black hole?
