Well, we've got enough runtime left to justify a second installment to tonight's thread. Thanks whoever archived the last!

old thread, while it lasts, is here: >>22340803

[x] “Not too bad, plenty of things to do and our housing is very nice. Uh, hey, what was in that book, anyway?”

“Call me Frank, Sir.” You say. “And Alaska isn't that bad. They're keeping us busy up there, but it's quieting down some. Our housing is really nice, but personally I can't wait to get back to sea.” You look over at Katya, then Georgette.

“So, uh. What was in that book, anyway?” You ask.

Georgette laughs. “It's a collection of Nicholas and I's correspondence during the war. Love letters, really.”

“I... see.” You say carefully, eliciting another laugh from Georgette. “Love letters?”

Admiral Mackintosh laughs. “Mostly. She and I sent a lot of mail back and forth.”

“Oh, we're here.” Georgette says, interrupting any further comment from you.

The white house. You can't help but be a bit nervous about all of this.

The witches exit first, followed by you, then Admiral Mackintosh.

Georgette reads your expression surprisingly well.

“Nervous, Frank?” She asks, linking arms with Admiral Mackintosh.

[x] “very.”

“Very.” You say, straightening your cover for the third time since putting it on.

Georgette laughs again. “The president isn't so bad. He was a pilot, like you, though I don't remember what he flew, or where.”

Admiral mackintosh smiles, but doesn't comment as you enter the white house.

Arriving with the older couple helps your nerves somewhat- they treat the President and first lady as old friends when they greet you at the door. The first lady unfreezes Ice by commenting on the lovely navy dress uniform, which opens the way for Ice to return the compliment on the first lady's own evening gown. The president returns your salute, then shakes your hand with a smile, saying you'll have to sit down sometime with Nixon and Swap stories- he doesn't see too many of his pilot bretheren anymore, these days.

Then, just like that, they're off, greeting the Japanese ambassador and his wife, as well as their guest, a high ranking IJN officer.

You let out the breath you didn't know you were holding.

[x] Find the parents!

While Ice and Katya mingle- Ice quickly being found by Nixon who, she accompanies while he greets a few other notables and with Katya locked in conversation with the Japanese ambassador, you take the opportunity to go find your folks.

Your dad's height works to your advantage, letting you find the old man with no trouble. Smiling, you salute him.

“Good to see you again, dad.” You say, after he returns the salute. “Sorry about this afternoon, we got tied up in Aberdeen, at the proving ground.”

He chuckles. “Don't they deal with small arms, mostly? You developing an interest in the infantry?”

“Well, no. We were there for the girls, really.” You say, causing your mom to laugh and your dad to shoot you a look.

“What? You walked into it.” You say, laughing.

[x] Hi Jessica!

You do a double-take as your sister greets you, swallowing your first response. “Hello, Jessica.” you say, diplomatically. “I take it you're under strict orders to behave?”

She nods. “You know the parents.” She says.

“Indeed.” you respond, trying to not get in trouble. White house or no, your mom is not afraid to yell at you when you're wrong.

The Christmas ball atmosphere can best be described as semi-formal. You're able to mingle some, linking back up with Katya and Introducing your parents to Nixon and the Mackintoshes. Amusingly, the admiral and your father, both MoH holders, can't decide who needs to salute whom, so they settle for a handshake. They make small talk as the band plays.

You're as surprised as anyone when Nixon heads over to your table. “C'mon son.” he says, as you stand up. “The old man wants to talk in the green room.”

The president and Nixon both sit down in the green room, along with yourself and Ice.

The president opens the conversation. “Dick here tells me you're making quite a name for yourselves up there in Alaska. I'm not ashamed to admit I haven't flown since the war. What can we do to help you out up there? The American people are screaming about the reds being able to put boots on our soil, even if it is all the way up there.”

[] “All due respect, sir, I don't know why you're asking me. Admiral Nixon's probably told you exactly what we need.”
[] “We're pretty well off, sir. We could use our reinforcements, but otherwise, the sky is ours.”

“All due respect, sir, I don't know why you're asking me.” You say with a shrug. “Admiral Nixon's probably told you exactly what we need.”

The president nods. “He has. But I want to hear it from someone on the line.”

You shrug again, glancing over at Ice, who shrugs. “Well, sir, we could use the reinforcements to bring us up to fill strength.”

Ice jumps in. “Relying on one jet for all our BVR isn't cutting it, sir.” She says. “WE cann call on other jets, sometimes, when it's a big mission, but when it's just us....” She trails off.

“Hmm.” the president says, thinking. “The boys in the Atlantic say they need the jets more, to keep the soviets from being able to launch bombers at the convoy routes.”

“All due respect, sir, that's bull.” Nixon says, some heat evident in his voice. “That's why the air force has jets in Iceland. Those carriers need extra antisubmarine birds, maybe. Not wyverns. And they need to stop poaching Pacific witches, too. They need sub witches, not flight witches.”

“I'll pass it along.” The president says. “Anything... oh, hello Georgette.”

1/2
>>
Georgette nods to the president. “I just came to fetch Commander Bishop. Can you part with him for a second?”

The president looks at you. “I think so.” He says. “Thank you, commander Bishop.”

“Yes sir.” You respond, as Georgette leads you out into the hallway- not the east room.

“Commander, there's a problem I'd like to discuss with you.” She says, as you walk back towards the ball.

“What kind of problem?” You ask.

“It's about your Samantha.” She says.

“What... what about Merlin” You ask, your heart sinking into your gut.

As she leads you back into the east room, you can see Merlin, sitting at the table with your parents, frantically looking around- looking for you, you realize. When she spots you, she runs over and latches onto you with a surprisingly powerful hug- earning a few looks from the dignitaries in the room. Admiral mackintosh walks over, calmly, to join you, and helps you and Georgette escort Merlin out before she starts crying.

Georgette doesn't really have to say anything, at that point.

From last thread

>She looks up at you, and nods. “Ok Frank! Don't go anywhere without me!” she says, then runs off to join Katya and the marine at the range.

Why didn't we listen?!
>>
>>22351336
From the last thread? What about all the stuff she's done for the past month? She won't give us back our jacket, she constantly sleeps in our room or even in our bed, and she cannot take losing sight of Frank.

This has been long coming.
>>
Now I'm wondering why Ice didn't have an evaluation done after Merlin went catatonic thinking we were dead...
>>
>>22351336
While, despite Frank being a very mature and sensible young man, he is also still a pilot.
>>
>>22351329

Given Merlin's reaction when we left for five fucking minutes to talk to the president, I don't think she'd be able to tolerate being separated from us for anything like an extended period.

Still, we should try to find her some psychological treatment.
>>
>>22351373
after this? she's getting treatment whether either of us wants her too or not.
>>
>>22351373

And then when we have to play metal gear when she refuses her treatment.
>>
>>22351373
She definitely needs to see a therapist. She's not in good psychological shape right now and we can't leave our adorable RIO like this.
>>
>>22351356

it hit the whole squadron, they were all wrecks, not as bad as merlin though
>>
I'm surprised no one's written yandere!Merlin yet.

Not just any pilot

> After completing the 10-month course, he was commissioned as an ensign in the U.S. Naval Reserve at Corpus Christi, Texas on June 9, 1943, just three days before his nineteenth birthday, which made him the youngest naval aviator to that date.

>Bush piloted one of four Grumman TBM Avenger aircraft from VT-51 that attacked the Japanese installations on Chichijima.[6] His crew for the mission, which occurred on September 2, 1944, included Radioman Second Class John Delaney and Lieutenant Junior Grade William White.[1] During their attack, the Avengers encountered intense anti-aircraft fire; Bush's aircraft was hit by flak[7] and his engine caught on fire.[1] Despite his plane being on fire, Bush completed his attack and released bombs over his target, scoring several damaging hits.[1] With his engine afire, Bush flew several miles from the island, where he and one other crew member on the TBM Avenger bailed out of the aircraft;

I look forward to it.

Aw shit, next Tuesday is January 8th, and AMoL is coming out that day. I'll probably have it written by then, but if I wind up not posting it on the 8th in the thread look for it on tofusaur.

It better not be lewd.
Merlin is not for lewds, even if she is yandere.
>>
>>22351784
I think when she's gone full insane yandere that could take her pure admiration of Frank and twist it into a different kind of love.
>>
>>22351811
This guy's close. Here's the last line:
>"Daddy has a saying that the best way to get what you wanted was to make it. He's wrong. The best way to get what you want is to take it."

sooo Georgette can heal with her magiks, hell she made part of our tomcat part of our rib cage, whats to stop her from magiking merlins head

I don't think Witch Healing fixes mental trauma. That seems a bit outside its field, a bit too complex. Though it would explain why all the witches in the TV show are not living in a constant state of PTSD/Shell Shock.

>More worried about the date with Katya than Merlin's mental health

This chapter made me even sadder that Aberdeen is being packed away to fucking Fort Lee.
