Okay this is a Competative Civilization game. That means each player adopts a name/trip and rolls dice as indicated by the quest runner.

Now our setting is a postapocalyptic fantasy taken from a concept called "Creature's Path" here are the highlights.

>Humans Only...Kinda.
Basically for whatever reason elves, dwarves, and what have you never evolved/were created here. All civs are populated by humans. Kinda.

>Monster Souls, how do they work.
Basically in the ages of yore mages destroyed all the goblins and orcs and stuff by casting a spell. These creatures had their souls torn out of them and flung into the ether. Now these souls are occupying humans and doing pic related. Depending on your culture mutation may be expected and encouraged or held back via magic and similar methods.

>Megitek Ruins
The civilization takes place after the Spellocalypse, or The Quint, the 5th in a series of increasingly vicious wars that culminated in the use of forbidden spelltek ruining the world.

I shall participate.

I will join.

>Fuckin monsters how do they work?
Monsters are either the product of Monster Souls fusing with normal animals and creating horrible mis matched beasts or they're outcasts and bandits who are using their mutation given powers for crime.

>Magic and stuff
Magic is one more resource, and for it to work you need resources the difference between normal wizards and magitek is quality vs quantity. Both need arcane components and both cast spells. The difference is that Magitek usually creates something like a spell-pistol that can be used by other people and old fashioned wizardry usually is dedicated to creating a single powerful mage.

>how do I play?
You need a name or a trip, I don't give a fuck as long as I can identify you. You need to fill out this form.

>Nation Name
>Biome Location (Swamp, desert, forest etc. etc.)
>Main Resource (Coal, magic crystals, slaves etc. etc.)
>at least one sentence of fluff concerning your nation's history.
>>
We should make up our own human-monster people, right?

>How do I play
You start out at "Tribal" level meaning you're a bunch of primitives and if you want to say, build a wall you at least need stones to pile up as a wall. I will record your resources and roll up 2 random resources that you start out with and give you the occasional challenge or disaster that will strike the region, this will effect everyone and they'll each have their own way to deal with it.

oh and you roll d100s unless I specifically tell you not to. Please roleplay as your nations president, warrior, priest...whatever. Or don't, as long as you have fun I'm happy.

As the republic roams the plains they call their land their own. A proud people that were birthed from those who fled to the wild when the empire fell. Actual citizens, from the age of fifteen to twenty five, are required to be slaves for their family along with slaves gathered as prisoners of war. This forces them to know the life of a slave to better understand the plite of those they will someday rule. For government a high chieftain is decided by electing he who killed the previous chieftain, however each chieftain maintains a council of advisors made up of the powerful family heads.
>>
>>22241591
So we leave the Main Resource part empty for now and roll a 2d100 to see what we get of the start?
>>
>>22241574
If you want yes, a person's monster soul is inherently random and some people may never actually mutate beyond an unusual eye color or pointed ears.

Your population is more than likely made up of several roughly homogenous forms of mutations. (Spider people, Rat people, and Slim people with the rare dragon person being a destined leader for instance)

If you prefer to have a roughly homogenous population of monster folk thats your thing though bro. Keep in mind that people are born human and mutate over time though.

>>22241623
no choose one and I'll roll to see what your other resources are. Those resources also tell you what the other environments of your kingdom are.

So it's not passed down genetically or anything?
It's random?
Like, if kingdom that wanted to be 100% homogenous a breeding program wouldn't help, they'd just have to kill anyone who showed signs of being something else?

The Signar plains are adjacement to the polluted Junkheap of the Lion'shead research facility. This place is infested with Malfunctioning golems and living weapons like salamanders but it is an excellent source of choice stone and magical materials like orichalcum and mythril.

They are also adjacent to the ruined Metropolis Jaxxadrall, this city was once home to 100 million people, now its a festering ruin populated by mimic slimes and spider people. It's dangerous but it has its fair share of magitek devices for the looting.
>>
>>22241708
yes I'm afraid so. The monster soul chooses a person that is compatable so personality plays a roll but in no way, shape, or form is it genetic. Short of developing magitek or a spell to replace or force out a monster soul there's nothing you can do about it.

and yes your civ can develop a monster soul replacement/removal device.

>Nation Name: The Empire of Ra’h

>Location: Small Tribes in the Forest

>Backstory: The Empire of Ra’h was formed when a small group of humans started to invade Elf homes in the woods. The drove the Elves out the Forest and made their own homes. Using the large Forest as a hunting ground for animals and killing any “evil” monsters enter the land. The souls of the beast they killed started to enter the bodies of the Ra’h people, transforming them into hordes of monster-hybrids. The tribes of “humans” became very wild and broke down into groups known as Caste. There are three Caste; The Elders (The Leaders), The Full Bloods (Mostly transformed people), and the Half-Lings (Slaves or untransformed people).

Building Matrials, Monster souls

The Barony of Thrace was founded on the ruins of a long dead culture, specicially the culture of careless disposal of resources. As such they live in swamps which were used as garbage dumps. This however has given them access to a very high supply of sturdy materials such as enduramic (A ceramic substanc similar in use and qualities to plastic) and busted Magitek dishwashers.

They also have an easier tim training stronger Monster Soul champions.

1, Magitek, 4, building materials.

Along with the petrified wood of their forest the Falcrious have an unusually large number of obsidian deposits in their area. This glassy stone is both aesthetically pleasing and useful for creating a variety of primitive weapons. The obsidian happens to collect near small volcanic vents which bubble with magma once out of every day on the month. Thes unusual geologic formations (which also provide heat to a natural spring) were under observation by the old world and the area is riddled with ruins full of scientific devices.

>>22241853
(Pick a name please.)

The Fetts are host not just to large deposits of Star Metal but also to deposits of Petroleum and natural gas. Many ice flows are seperated by small lakes of viscous tar and more than a few areas are considered taboo places to enter due to the vents that spew flaming gas.

Th Fetts have unusually active monster souls and find training them easier.

The nation of Kelm was founded when a group of tradesmen and women that had been fleeing the ruins of their city encountered a group of natives living on the coast next to a mountain range. The scarred moon sunders the Earth!

Th once Idyllic valley of the Gaians is torn asunder by collossi. These creatures tear themselves out of the earth and begin walking the land. Gaia is now home to 3 distinct gashes that form an odd sort of spiraling pattern. Thes thre canyons are home to vast resources of coal and petroleum so the gashes are now full of a sort of thick hydrocarbon slurry.

On the plus side Gaia is now litterd with stone ripe for the shaping.

Th Kelmans find themslves wracked with headaches and hungr pangs that cannot be satisfied during the scarred moon but are otherwise unharmed.

Your shamans discover that careful channeling of the Stone's Energy allows them to warp the structure of an object it is pressed against. This can mean people, animals, or tools. So far they've usd it to make some nice stone and metal tools.

The half-lings make their way to the mines, like all slaves they work slowly and sullenly but they manage to get a shallow mine going. It's just enough to pull in some stones but its not what you'd call a whole hearted effort on the part of the slaves.

B: WELL SHIT. FOREST IS BURNT TO ASHES. In that case, it's time for damage control. First of all lava rivers. I don't see the vents stopping. Find any plant life and save them, put it in pots, we need those to regrow the landscape. Use whatever materials we can muster to rebuild shelters, now is not the time to be snooty, we're all in this together people.

The people of Gorp live not just on the coast, but next to the sunkn ruins of a onc grat mtropolis. This city, and its oodles and Oodles of mutagenic magical substances are responsabl for more than a few of the horrors the Gorpers face. (and probably for the gorpers violent psychosis as well.)

After some trouble setting up a forge your mn manage to create a fairly decent workshop in which they can create weapons, armor, tools, and experiment with all things forge rlated. This includes metallurgy. After some time and effort they manage to rediscover steel. Water and coal, along with iron ar both required to make steel but spell-engine is more effective when it comes to making good steel if used in place of water for quenching.

Your men find plnty of iron and coal underneath the earth for taking. Clean water can only be found in the wells near the Pre-Quint sites or by gathering via barrels set out during the storms. Pr-Quint devices are guarded by spell-turrets and automata so your men face some measure of dangr retrieving those.

Sveral of the crystals explode and more than a few of your apprentices have earned the Nicknam "stumpy." Your study into the ancient products of Senor Clean has taught you the basics of Magitek, in short programming a spell-crystal with a basic function and forcing that spell crystal to carry out that function whenever the correct command is given. This command can be verbal or tactile in nature.

D:Establish a Smith caste, only the best smith are to be allowed to learn how to make steel.

any attempts to acconmplish anything come to a standstill when one of thecrabsharks manages to get ahold of a Pre-Quint construction device and smash its way across the Etherite Reactor, eventually it falls into th ocean but your people were way to busy hiding from th crabshark in the 2 story construction mech to do anything of use.

Ah, in that case I'll post my next actions now.

Try and get a forge going, or some way to shape those crystals into weapons, and see if I can domesticate the winged jelly rats.

So that's how it works eh?

A. research metalurgy, especially to combine star metals, and forge blades and pipes.
C. harvest more star metal

Well, at least we're no longer naked.

Damnit Mr. Porky stop being such a goddamn racist to the Dryads, we're lucky that they clothed us as it is!

Oh look, the research team, they survived the lavapocolap-oh. How about that. they're gloating. Bastards.

-RESEARCH TEAM-
Uh guys. Can we like, you know, stop flaunting over the others? Mind you there's like, 18 of us and a whole bunch of them. can we get back to, you know, research something? Like I dunno, maybe the ruins again? just take notes, examine ruins, anything! Hey, hey jonesy, put down the bee- oh goddamnit...

-FALCRIOUS 'EMPRIE'-
D: Alright. Let's try rebuilding. we don't need the Dryads. Sure we got no materials, forest is nothing but petrified trees, lava rivers, and volcanic vents with fire birds, which by the way, the research team has YET to report back and rather just get drunk and all. Well? what are we waiting for? LET'S REBUILD OUR EMPIRE!
>>
>>22243412
apologies for the wait, should've done this first.

There are at least some bones left over from the magical incidnt. Using some of the jelly taken from a vicious bone snapper your people manage to make bones as strong as forged steel. The source of this discovery is costly though. (Bone snappers ar a plant that places a mouth at ground level, they use inch long thorns as teeth and powerful jaw muscles to rend flesh and bone, a lot of warriors lost hands and feet to them,)

You set up some beds in a series of huts and your shamans begin tending to the wounded.
>>
>>22243716
You manage to create crystals that explode, and lose a few apprentices to them.

You dig deep into the mines and discover an ancient system of tunnels. It seems this was a salt mine that was used to store data crystals by the pre-quint movie industry. Apparently it was an archive of sorts. The place is empty of life but there a few vid players left over and thousands of barrels full of data crystals.
>>
Rolled 74, 29 = 103

>>22243871
So do I get my post soon? sorry for all the Double-posting.
>>
>>22243756
You manage to establish a smith caste, they immedietly take to putting on airs and wearing steel jewelry but they do their job well enough.

The warriors clear out several tunnels wearing makeshift iron armor and using well crafted iron shields and spears. They fight vicious Termite Lizards and manage to force the hideous creatures back into the dark. They also manage to find a set of tools, chains and saws made of transperant orange crystal that glows and radiates heat when activated. There are 3 crates of these items.

Your attempt to establish a ritual hazing of warriors goes reasonably well, your youngans have taken to looting the most dangerous sites however and missing eyes and fingers have become fashionable.
>>
Urgh, I'm going to bed after my result. I'll check by the thread when I wake up. If it ended, I hope it will have the date and time for the next time, cause bad luck aside I'm enjoying this.
>>
>>22243607
There's a great deal of confusion, a surprising amount of sex, more pregnancies than usual and then everything goes back to normal, well sort of normal. Except your society has taken some hits to combat effectiveness since all your warriors are weaker than they used to be,

Your men study the metal tools in the mine, and they manage to figure out the basics to metallurgy and forging within a week. These skills become quite prevalent and just about everyone can forge or a bit of copper or some similar material.

[apologies for the wait]
>>
>>22243796
The good news is you have more star metal. The bad news is you're out of fuel and aside from Sky metal maces (the light mostly useless kind) and a warhammr that no man on earth could lift you hav little to show for it.

Oh and everyone who went out to the tar pits is dead and there's anothr tar lake on fire.

C: Send more men for the hunt on Magic Crystals

A: Study the use of Magic Crystals on souls, mainly extracting them and forcing them into a body.

The research team manage to find some functioning spell-rifles. and a Image-Recorder. The head of research manages to list out a detaild and well thought out list of instructions for the spell-rifles and sends them back to the settlement.

The instructions are written on picturs of his genitals and the spell rifles are out of ammunition.

The dryads decide to loan you their help, after you agree to punish Mr. Porky by spanking him with a cactus. They help you make some burrows and grow living sapplings together to create walls for the huts. They help you gather stones for making a forge and shape dead branches together to create walls for the hut. These walls are held togethr by vives and mud. They meticously and carefully help you build a farm and an orchard but they also expect you to help them repopulate the forest with plants.

your head researcher manages to animate a pinting press with one of the crystals. The printing press devours him, uses his blood as ink to print out something called "The Twilight Cod by Stephanie Brown" and then goes dormant. Your men dump it and every copy of its infernal work near the lair of the Jelly Spider.

The Jelly Rats have learned speech thanks to your vigilant efforts.

They use this new found gift to tell everyone how much you enjoy sodomizing eachother.

Oh, and in addition to fighting them, we are going to, do some research on them in the lore. It might give us a way to defeat them or something.

You manage to find 10 metric tons of sex toys and sexual lubricant, which amusingly enough is still quite good at lubricating things. You also find a half sunk Magitek caravan of trucks they are full of recording equipment and the corpses of 3 porn producers.

Due to a monumental fuck up the jelly rats escape with a data cube chock full of homerotica and 10000 different ways to to say "The Barony is the Capital of Sodomy!"

Your men find magic crystals, they also an automata that is home to a creature from the far realms. The only survivor has cut out his tongue, yes, and destroyed his ear drums.

You have learned the art of creating soul traps, extracting souls, mixing and matching souls. This is mostly due to a chance find of ten text books labeled "Magic and its interactions with the human soul 1-3, a history of the monsters 1-3, and Magic for complete retards 1-4" As a rsult your mages have taken one of your mine chambers and coverd every single square inch of it in eldritch runes. Apparently it will serve as a storag site for souls in the event of any fusionor extraction expriments you wish to perform.
>>
>>22244179
The good nws is that the crab sharks are dead, or the ones on the therite city block are dad anyway. The ones in the watr below have been in a feding frenzy for days and anything in, on, or near the water is as good as dead.

Your rsearchers manage to discover 5 tons of canisters labeled "BAT SHARK REPELLANT" in the Etherite plant. Bat-Sharks must be pretty nasty they reason, so this has to be the good stuff. From the looks of things the stuff is basically in an aerosol canister and can be loadd into a spray bottle or dumped into water.
>>
>>22244188
Lol, goddammit.
First order of business, those in charge of killing the rats are to be executed immediately.

Now, on to the rolls: Firstly, the mages clearly need more training. Very, very clearly. Secondly, some research on the trucks would likely prove fruitful.

You manage to find some childrens shows that explain the basics of programing, charging, and otherwise making us of magical crystals. This should allow you to use them for spells or in magitek devices.

This also allows you to cobble together a simple magical tool. One battery crystal attached to a healing crystal should allow you to make use of the things for a longer period and make them more effective.

Evry day you wake up to see two enormous humanoid figures on the horizon bickering like and old couple. Their arguements consist of whether or not things are better now than they used to be and whether or not the monsters are more terrible now that they hav multiple souls or whether or not you can be a hero and a monster at th same time.

In general the old gods agree that things were better in their day.

You manag to cobble together a forge. It's kind of inefficient what with all the wood you have to burn but at this rate you'll take any success you can find.

Thankfully your men manage to find several soldified chunks or Enduramic junk, apparntly its a combination of model making kits, (for som faction called the Battle Sisters) Crappy Furniture, and food packaging. With a little magic programming they should take whatever shape you command.

Aside from making metal spidrs that flee upon awakening and spin wirey webs deep in the mines you haven't had much luck with the metal bodies thing.

The good news with the Blood Wood staves at least is that its hard to fuck that up. Your staves so far are crude and power transferance could be better but you have a fairly decent alternative to channel your mystical power when it comes to the magical crystals.

wll thanks. But a part of this was supposed to be players interacting with one another via some roleplaying and battl would'v eveolved from that.
