Good evening /tg/! It's time for Civilization Quest! Today's quest is rather special however, for not one, not two, not THREE, but FOUR reasons!

FIRST, this is the 50th thread of Civilization Quest! Wooo! This has to be the most effort I've put into anything for quite some time and it's all thanks to you folks, so thank you so much for sticking with this for so long.

SECOND, today is the last thread before a brief break for Christmas! I know I'm going to be giving this my all, as my little treat for Christmas! It's literally the least I can do!

THIRD, this Civilization Quest brought to you by Mayan Calendars Inc.! A super-special, end-of-the-world, once-in-a-lifetime APOCALYPSE SPECIAL!

FOURTH, come hell, high water, frost, fire, alien invasion or the dead rising to eat the flesh of the living, the battle against the Sun People will FINALLY be over today!

Who's ready to get this party started?

Previous thread is archived here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/22103916/

> I ran out of good art okay? So sue me...
>>
Britfag, I have a few question I need to ask you before we begin to clarify a few things. Because I have been brainstorming strategies. I would like to make sure that the information I have been basing this on is correct.
>>
Also I think people can't find the thread due to you keep changing the art.
>>
>>22139408
Seriously, did we just drag out this war, so we could get fucked the day before the world ends? Because if Trym bites it this thread, then I'll be looking forward to it. A world without Trym isn't a world I'm prepared to live in.
>>
>>22139531
But of course! Any questions you have, I would be more than happy to answer. I know there's a lot of confusion and concern about the future of this quest and if it's possible to 'lose'.

>>22139595
And he hasn't even had a proper quest yet! Imagine when you get heroes who actually go out on an adventure!
>>
>>22139595
I have an idea which I think could help save our asses. Now stay with me here, we ask Kihone (our snow goddess) for help.

> She has meddled before, saving Mickey from these guys and saving out scouts
> Way back when we only refused the help of chani and groza, so they should be the only pissy ones
> Mickey is in danger, she won't just let him die
> We're in the beginning of winter at night. The sun goddess is at her weakest and Kihone at her most powerful
> We have been shown in the past (Trym during the battle against the Lion Tribe) that those who are not a priest can evoke the gods power (the spear).

All in all, lets have Mickey ask for Khiones help, this could help save us.

Yeah... I need to pick an image and stick with it... I was planning on changing the pic every era, like... Bronze Age, Iron Age, etc, but it took so long, I got bored...
>>
The art, she does not impede me! I am a true son of the revolution and naught will keep me from victory.

After Tuesdays dismal thread for our people I was grasping at straws too, Refrek. The only thing I came up with myself was Khione stepping in to save Mickey and our people at the last minute. I mean, they are lovers and all. Despite the season not being quite right I imagine she'd freak out at the great possibility of him dying and start droppin' Sun niggas left and right.

Yeah thats right, I said niggas.

So, what exactly is the structure of the wall.

I assume it is lashed together logs in the front with an archer's platform on top (like in the image) and supports every few feet to keep it up. Also stairs every 40-50 feet for people to get off the wall with.
>>
>>22139621
Fuck it, sounds good to me. If we have to, have Mickey hurt her in some way. If we can't stop the Sun tribe, then the resulting cataclysmic snowstorm should kamikaze us to victory. These assholes aren't going to destroy the greatest tribe in the world without a fight. A reckless, emotionally-unstable fight.
>>
>>22139621
lol. Refreshing would've saved me some time.

At this point he wouldn't even need to ask. I'd honestly expect her to just show up and then bam horrendous ice storm that nerfs the sun people.
>>
>>22139641
I actually came up with several plans. I think I know how to kill the archers. If britfag confirms the wall structure I have a plan.
>>
>>22139674
Have him rip off her necklace, that's holding back the majority of her power. If we rip off he necklace most likely our army will die, but their entire tribe will die too. This is a last resort to destroy everything.
>>
>>22139697
I dont even think that will be necessary to be honest. And not entirely wise. I imagine she could merc the sun people just fine while wearing the necklace.
>>
>>22139621
Unless of course her last encounter with them has left her too scared and intimidated by them to be of any use to us in a fight. What we need is a dice spirit right now, I say we throw our chips in and just try calling for one. Can't hurt right?
>>
>>22139675
Also I have a guilt trip that I think will sway Groza. Let me lay it out for you.

"I have apologized for my tribes misdoings, we are but human, but mortals. Is a god so petty that he will watch those who defend his name fight and die without lifting a finger. Hrunti's wolves howl in the night, kihone's storms block out the sky. Are you truly the only god that will sit by and not fight, I thought you were a battle god, but you cower in the realm of spirits. Groza, prove your strength, prove why I became your priest! Show them your strength!" and on the last line he thrusts the spear skywards.
>>
>>22139725
She was injured and then kicked up the storm for our scouts. She has shown despite her injury to fight against them. We're fine.
>>
>>22139735
Dude, sorry to speak out of character, but I don't think Britfag's gonna bend on this one. We fucked up so hard...
>>
>>22139735

>battle going horribly already
>call battle god coward
>no me gusta
>>
>>22139755
I know, it's worth a chance. Besides, we could probably swing for at least Khione. Also, there is a possibility we can do my plan involving the wall if it is the structure I believe it is. If it is the same structure as my wall as soon as we break a hole in wall it will destabilize the whole structure. We send men running both ways to break supports. It will cause their archer platform to fall from under them and send the bastards on a 10-15 foot drop to the ground. We'll be able to fuck them up good.
>>
Stop changing the starter image or I won't be able to find you!

Also hello.
>>
>>22139806
I like that plan, but thats only good if we knock out a section of the wall itself and not just the gate. IIRC there was no update on the second ram if its even still working on the wall.

That said, it is a marvelous idea except I'd imagine the wall is on an incline from us and would probably fall down on us if it did fall.
>>
>>22139775
That is also a last resort scenario. Basically it will either cause Groza to smite Gerin and kill him on the spot, or power up his spear.
>>
File: 1356040626930.png-(15 KB, 576x428, Wall cross-section.png)
15 KB
>>22139671
The cross-section is as in pic related. So yeah, pretty much what you said. It's not the most stable in the world, but for stone/bronze-age society, it's effective as stone, castle walls!

Any further questions?
>>
>>22139852
Calling it, the next bone comes down on Gerin's head.
>>
>>22139838
Our rams are against a part of the wall right now. I'd rather ram against there and destabilize the wall than run for the gate. We can break it here and go with my plan. Also the thing with the wall, we're not making it fall, we are making the archer's roost fall instead. If we send them to the ground we can probably get one unite of archers defenseless and a few from the others.

We can't use normal combat, we need to gambit the hell out of this.
>>
>>22139860
Ok, instead of having normal men break the supports we have the siege rams break as many as they can. Honestly the archers can't shoot down through their platform, and their supports will be singular logs. With the rams we can knock them out of place and get the same effect, just a normal man can't do it. The siege ram will be able to crack supports easily.
>>
>>22139872
Well then, I guess we have to just trust in the dice tonight. We either win despite the horrendous losses, or we lose so hard that their people are too afraid to come after us because they know we will fight until the last man.

Nobody wants to fight crazy people. Nobody.
>>
>>22139870
If Groza smites him we're going to call him out after the battle for being petty and watching out people fight and die in his name while he threw a hissy fit. Basically he did throw us a big middle finger when we are fighting for his honor. Also, there is still whatever Derrik is bringing. I hope it's a few packs of wolves.
>>
Alright, read up now. As always Ref has some good suggestions.
Would be more agreeable if we try for a heroic-against-all-odds victory with that instead of a kamikaze "at least we don't die alone" defeat.

Only thing I disagree with, is calling Groza a coward... that can only go wrong. He'd rather smite us than the other guys.

>>22139904
I fear that the platforms will actually drop on our guys if we destroy the supports, but it's worth a try.
>>
>>22139907
Crazy Battle Hardened Barbarians vs God Evoking Super Zealots?

Yup, that's what we caused here guys.
>>
Also anybody heard any news from "scary shield guy"?
No reports of an invincible berserker rampaging through enemy lines? No? ... sigh
>>
>>22139937
Good point, we need to gauge the situation and if we can afford losing a few men to see their archers all turn into kills.

Also after the battle we can probably get a bunch of men back if we live. Most of our men fell to archer wounds. THe survival rate on those is actually pretty good in ancient battles if they receive care. They should be on the ground now, but the wounded will probably have a 50-60% survival rate. The sun cannon though... year nearly all of those people are dead 95% fatality rate at least.
>>
>>22139907
Don't forget, that's what got Japan an A-bomb to the face, and these guys have a god who specialises in explosions and fire.
>>
So what we're hoping for is Khione busting a cap in some Sun niggas, Derrik to come rolling out with a massive pack of wolves, and their wall coming tumbling down.

Do we have a Joshua in the crowd tonight?

Yes, yes we do. I fought the battle of jericho, this should be easy.
>>
>>22139959
Nothing yet, though with great battles come great heroes. Maybe what ever spirit infected him will make an appearance or something. Anyway though, I counted up the numbers we're at 60% strength at the moment. So... this isn't exactly a good situation
>>
Come on britfag, lets get this ball rolling. We have plans on ho to win this day, we shall defeat our enemies, we shall cast down their gods. The Riverlands Concord is still strong!
>>
>>22140075
If we do win, imagine how much stronger this battle will make us.

Or weaker. Our allies did totally get merced. That wont come across well. And we have weakened ourselves immeasurably taking this village.

All I do know is that we're going to need to be extra crafty after this either way.
>>
>>22140110
Yes, but the thing is this will put enough fear into us to realize we need to start creating a disciplined fighting force. A group of actual trained soldiers who will go to war in the name of the Riverlands Concord. I say we build a military training facility near our village and have those form every member of the concord come together to train there before heading back to their home. It will make it so every member has the some training and knows the same protocols. It'll help us immensely.

> If there are no further questions then...

n the dark of the night, the clash of arms and the screams of the dying rent the air! Moving forward to assault the walls, Gerin, Mikuhla and Derrik's band all come under fire from a hail of arrows from the walltops! Dozens drop, leaving Gerin's band down 16 warrios, Derrik's down 18 and Mikuhla, his band carrying the ram and thus targeted more heavily... Down by 36 warriors as arrows scythe into them, but the stalwart warriors refuse to break! Behind them, Trym Wolfsbane, hero of the Long Fangs, leads his warband into the enemy with a roar, his heroic presence spurring his followers to greater feats of valour! They cut down 16 of the enemy, in exchange for only five losses of their own. Sadly, the Lion Tribe are on the worse end of their battle and turn tail, fleeing as yet more of them are cut down, leaving only about a dozen remaining!

A solid BOOM echoes through the press at the gates to the Sun People village as Mikuhla's band slam their ram into the gates! Wood splinters and creaks, the fastenings threatening to break at just another solid hit! Even as they ready for another attack however, Mikuhla is suddenly struck by another sense of ominous dread and his eyes flick instinctively to the craggy mountaintop and the shrine upon it, hidden in the night.
>>
>>22140110
If we did win, we might benefit from the fact that we took care of this threat early.
Had they expanded (possibly finding allies) and all that, it might have become that much harder to cull the threat later on.
Who knows? Even if we do lose, I'm sure we will have several years of quiet afterwards.

>>22140151
Also this. And I like the idea of a centralized military institution for our different tribes. What do you say, we add a little bit of indoctrination or propaganda into the mix for added flavour?
>>
>>22140151
Not to mention having some form of battlefield communication. We have horns and such so that will be easy enough. I'm kicking myself for not realizing we had nothing with us to work with.

And a change in government. A more streamlined decision making process of some kind.

And defenses. Always defenses. But all of this will come after we get ours farms back up and running. None of that will make a difference if we are continually starving.
>>
>>22140151
Oh yea- when we get back. Shit. We're gonna have some 'splaining to do to the other tribes, mostly about how they're guys got so fucked up when we just stayed back. You know some survivor of theirs is gonna spill the beans, and we're gonna look like assholes.
>>
>>22140151
>>22140173
>>22140175
Man, I just wanna go back to the days when we spent whole threads talking gov't instead of how fucked we were.
>>
>>22140176
Well, the positive thing is, if all our guys get killed, then we don't even have any explaining to do. Yay.
>>
>>22140176
Oh yeah we are. We're going to lose face so hardcore it wont even be funny win or lose.

We initiated this attack and the outcomes falls squarely on us. I wouldn't put it past the other tribes to march on us since we'll be weakened so badly after this is all done.
>>
>>22140165
Have Gerin run over to Mickey's group and grab him by the shoulders shouting. "Call yer girlfriend here!"

He'll respond all like "What?"

"Khione, we need strength right now, she has plenty to spare. She saved you before in this village, and saved our scouts. Call her to come help us now, they're using the gods we need to too. Do it, call her power, we need her strength now." The Gerin needs to run back to his own unit. Our backs are against the wall, so the archers can not hit us because they can't shoot over the lip of the wall (thank god). Have Gerin form a defensive line and get ready for their unit to hit us. Besides that we just need to wait to break the wall
>>
I sincerely hope that our troops decided to impregnate their wives before they left for this battle. To be honest, that seems entirely likely to have happened and if it did, hopefully we'll see a nice rebound on population after this.

Granted it will take time for them to get older but still.
>>
>>22140229
Seconding this.

>>22140248
Thank god in civilization quest land babys mature after only 12 months.
>>
>>22140216
The thing is, we're gonna have huge losses as well. No one can deny that our men bled and died for this victory. We're going to lose face, but not nearly as bad as I think you guys are imagining. Besides, from the chaos of the battle everyone who was there known as much of a cluster fuck it was. I don't think they will just go the "they were cowards, if they hadn't stopped we would have won way easier" route. They have too much honor for that.
>>
>>22140274
Oh and also IIRC the lions routed on several occasions already. So no need calling us cowards.
>>
>>22140296
Did didn't route so much the first time. They chased the enemy off the field.

The second unit hauled ass after being routed. Nothing cowardly about that. Gave those sun folks almost as good as they got being as outnumbered and surprised as they were.
>>
>>22140296
Yeah, and they aren't stupid enough to not realize that if we hadn't have stopped the entire lot of us would have been slaughtered by the sun cannon before even reaching the gates.
>>
>>22140319

>>22140229
As Derrik's leaderless band moves forward, loosing arrows at the defenders as they run, they come under fire from the walls! Their own arrows have little effect on the defended position, but 13 of the band drop before they make it to the relative safety of the walls. To their flank, Mikuhla's band continues to batter the gate, but despite their best efforts, the construct holds firm against their ram's blows. Gerin's band, unwilling to wait for the gate to fall, begin to climb the walls and attempt to claim them that way. Despite their best efforts, the attack is repulsed, the band failing to claim the walkway, slaying only eight, in exchange for eleven of their own. Gerin is struck in the attack however, by a feeling of absolute dread. In a flash, through the clash of the battle, he hears the voice of his god, Groza. "BEWARE." Elsewhere, Trym leads his warband boldly. The heroic champion charges, personally dispatching two of the foe in a single stab of his spear, though he loses the soft copper tip and draws his bronze sword. His band account for another fifteen more, for only a third as many lost themselves, sweeping the Sun People back in a torrent of bloodshed!

Gerin leaves his own band, shaking off the feeling of dread and sprinting for Mikuhla. "Call her!"
"What?" responds the puzzled priest.
"Your woman, fool! Khoine! We're in dire straits and need all the help we can get! She'll answer you!"
Mikuhla stares, open-mouthed, "In the fall? Within sight of Ermetha's shrine?! Are you insane?!"
"Just do it!" Gerin responds, turning back to his own men, "Or we're all done for!"
>>
Is it wrong that I imagine Britfag sounds like Dick Van Dyke from Mary Poppins? You know, that horrible fake accent.

Ello, govna, be needin' a good ol' chimney sweep tuhday?!
>>
>>22140909
She'll be weaker in the fall, aye. But the power of love, well, it knows no limits, boys.

Oh dear god this is going to be terrible.
>>
>>22140909
Ok, have Gerin shout to have no more men scale the wall, to wait until they break the gate. Also have him hold up his spear and try to determine what that BEWARE was about. Because I do not like the sound of that. Anyway though, besides those two things just keep going with the plan.
>>
>>22140979
If she needs a power boost have Mickey rip off the necklace. Best we can hope for.
>>
>>22140917

>>22140989
I'm a tiny bit relieved that Groza seems to care a bit at least...
>>
>>22141020
Yeah, but I'm a little afraid as well. Groza can't read minds so he couldn't know what Gerin was planning, so what was that about? Because honestly at this point, if they have another ace in the hole I'm throwing in the towel and am going to order honorable suicides.
>>
>>22141052
Fuck the wise men, we don't need their research to invent hari-kiri. Though, as always, Trym bolsters my spirits in these times of peril. I actually have hope now.

>>22140989

Honestly at this point I'd be good with that, eliminate the thread. Our men at the back and the earth tribe can make it away. Trym is far enough away that he can probably run. Their men in the city will be the only ones stuck in the blizzard... unless they open their gates.

Depends on what Jeffry-unit Mark III understands as "fudge the dice rolls a bit"...

I'd say depending on hidden random events and our blizzard-kamikaze, we might have a chance of 20%.
The enemy might still try to capitulate if they start losing their children warriors or something. Maybe Trym breaks enemy squad morale or something.
I cling to every bit of hope.

He invaded italy to fight the romans, right. He won every battle but he kept losing more men than he could afford to lose. Eventually he lost.

Now a victory that costs too much to win is called a Pyrrhic Victory.
>>
>>22141535
Well, that doesn't sound so bad. We're only fighting one battle and heading back home, not fighting an empire (for the love of all that is holy let us not be fighting an empire... I will rage quit this game).

Anyway, lets just wait for next turn and hope Khoine is gonna do something.
>>
>>22141563
(also, I don't mean to rush you britfag, but we are at least 5-6 turns from the end of this. If it takes an hour for each turn we aren't finishing today. If you need to just make the turns less detailed so you can speed it up. I don't mind less detailed turns in favor of finishing. Also i am tired of this battle either way and want to get the whole thing over with)
>>
>>22141077
>>22141116
> Seriously, Trym seems to live a charmed life. You probably could have got away with just sending him in to kill them all!

Trym's band pursues the fleeing sun people and crest the line of hills... Just as a blast of light illuminates them for the whole battlefield to see. Men drop and stagger around, blinded by the flare of sunlight. A great wail comes up from the hilltop as they slowly regain their sight. Leading the charge, he was struck first... Trym is down! He is still breathing, but barely, his back terribly burned as he ran past the epicentre of the explosion.

With a crash of splintering wood, the enemy gate crashes open! Mikuhla's band just has time to raise a great cry of triumph... Before a swarm of arrows fly into them from the other side of the opened gate. They had not been fired upon from the top of the walls for a while, for a reason... The enemy had re-positioned. 17 drop, leaving only Mikuhla and seven survivors. Just as their nerve is about the break, a second storm of arrows flies through the air... And is blown apart, scattered by a sudden storm of wind... And a blizzard of snowflakes.

I just hope Khione doesn't get mauled. These arent the best circumstances to call her into and what britfag said is true about the shrine and all. Our best hope is that Ermetha is weaker at night for obvious reasons, but the way this has been going, she'll probably be more powerful for no reason whatsoever.
>>
>>22141611
Aw shit my nuts just tensed.

Am I the only one on that? No, wait, don't answer that.
>>
>>22141611
Fuck yeah, we have some hope. Now I have an idea for a quick action, we need to cheat our way to victory.
>>
>>22141645
Same for me..
>>
>>22141611
Also, Trym will be fine, he is a tough bird god dammit.

Also where is Derrik, we're in the fucking end game and he hasn't shown up! We need his help now or we're fucked.
>>
>>22141611
Standing suddenly before Mikuhla's tattered band is a woman clad entirely in black, a necklace of a burning-bring copper arrowhead around her neck. She glares at the Sun People with a fury none have seen on her before. "You will not touch him." A great blizzard instantly whips up around the walls, making even the simplest shots next to impossible! Even as Khoine reaches back her arm, a squall of whiteness so dense her hand is not even visible within, a shaft of blinding, bright gold streaks down, straight at her heart, only to be batted aside by the goddess with her snow-covered hand.
"You've got a hell of a nerve threatening my people within my own village, girl." Night turns to day as a spark of fire leaps from the shrine on the crag, landing before the Sun People and coalescing into the figure of Ermetha. "Not to mention protecting MY priest. He can't serve two goddesses at once. You know that. And to court you goes expressly against my commandments. Leave and I'll forget all about this. Stay and... Well..." She raises her bow, laying an arrow on the string. "Guess."

Khoine looks back at Mikuhla and closes her eyes for a moment, then looks back to the sun goddess and raises her arms, snow flurrying around her, "I don't care for you, or your commandments. Your followers wanted to hurt Mikuhla. I am not going to let that happen. Mikuhla... Run. You've already lost here."
Ermetha frowns, "Noble sentiment. Truth be told, I'd rather not lose him, but... Mortals will do as they do. I cannot just let this pass, of course."
"Of course."
"I have beaten you before."
"You have. I have taken a dislike to you however."
Ermetha draws the arrow back on her string and smiles, "Let's clear the air then."
>>
>>22141677
Maybe he and his wolves will come afterwards to clean the field of 500 nice (some even grilled!) meals?
>>
>>22141611
Trym's Back = Achilles' Heel
Seriously, it's like his spine attracts danger.
>>
>>22141709
Have Gerin run up and tear off her necklace, then stand beside her hefting Ya'jal and shout.

"Is this not combat enough to please you Groza? I shall fight among the gods, using the weapon you gifted me! This day shall echo through history, our greatest hero has cast beaten gods before, and now I shall join him!" Khione/Gerin mother..fucking..tag team.

Also have him men let out a war cry and charge, attack the archers behind Ermetha and have Groza engage her in combat. Also for battle talk.

"You say a man can not have too goddesses. Why can you support both sides in this war then?" THen have him attack.

RAWR! We need this fucking victory!
>>
>>22141796
Sorry, have Gerin engage her in combat... not Groza
>>
>>22141709
Maybe Khione should take off the necklace? My buttcheeks are clenching, hurry up the writing or I'll get a cramp!

>>22141768
>We can rebuild him. We have the technology.
>>
>>22141768
Actually, where the legen of Achilles comes from (the norse legend of sigefried) it is actually the the back that was the weak point. After Siefriend bathed in the blood of a dragon he killed a leaf fell on his back, causing it to be the only part not touched by dragon blood, and so be the only vulnerable bit.
>>
>>22141796
Sounds good. Although: all out war or watch the duel in awe?

>>22141809
I wouldn't mind Groza joining in...
>>
>>22141810
Like I said, gerin runs up and rips it off, then goes for a tag team with Khoine. We need both to win this dammit! With both fighting we could see a victory.
>>
>>22141810
Britfag, hey, hey, uh, did those troops crossing the bridge ever get up to the walls? I mean, by now they should be right there too.
>>
>>22141823
Wasn't it actually on the shoulder? Local legend, but hell if I remember.
>>
>>22141709
She can't just expect us to abandon her, not now! I don't know if I can live with myself if she dies... it's all our fault... WHY?!!!
>>
>>22141823
Oh and also: as always, it's a girl that ruins the show for everybody...
>>
>>22141834
Nah, we need to continue the fight.

Also we need a name for Gerin.

It's Trym God Slayer who defeated the great white worf....

Gerin Dawn Breaker. As he is the one to cast down the sun....
>>
Im not going to lie, to be honest, Khione did just tell Mickey to run because its already lost and all. I'll leave the decision up to you guys and now does look like the best time for us to go on one last kamikaze charge since Ermetha is distracted and all, but eh, dem numbas.

>>22141872
Screw that, running is not an option now. We need to press our advantage and go for a win. Also with their god engaged in combat I doubt their sun cannon will have enough power to work. We know gods have finite power.

Also Derrik needs to show up! K;OBW;EBGUWR!!! Where is he!
>>
>>22141709
I'm not sure we should keep fighting. There, I said it. Khione is taking one for the team, our stupid, unlucky team. I don't thing it should be in vain.

Anybody else find it odd that Ermetha never knew about Mickey and Khione before now? I mean, well, he is her priest and she is a goddess.

The battle between the two goddesses joins. Though Ermetha holds the advantage at range, her arrows are constantly turned aside by Khoine's blizzards, the snow goddess's movements almost graceful, like a dance, the gusts of wind controlled by great sweeps of her arms. Concealing her motions with obscuring gusts of snow, she closes with Ermetha, the two goddesses face-to-face for a moment, before they begin a deadly dance, Khoine lashing out with snow, punches and sweeps of her legs, while Ermetha dodges, countering with acrobatic, arcing kicks of her own, trying to bring her bow to bear again. So intense is the fight that none of either the Sun People, or the Long Fangs can pass the gate, for fear of being caught in the brawl! Not only that, the gusts of wind and snow speed along the walls, confounding the archers aim.

As the goddesses fight, Mikuhla takes Khoine's advice, calling aloud to the bands on either side of him, "Retreat! Khoine fights for us! Fall back! We've lost here!" At the sight of Mikuhla's slaughtered band running, the groups on either side peel off, Gerin privately relieved for some reason, unknown even to him. All the survivors begin to pull back, though in surprisingly good order.

BRITFAG, AS INSANE AS THIS SOUNDS THIS IS OUR PLAN. ALSO... GET DERRIK HERE, WE NEED HIS ASS.
>>
>>22141905
I concur to be honest, but, eh. I have an addiction to losing in the hopes of winning. Logic says gtfo, but my heart, it cries for victory and vengeance.

No better time than now to win or die trying, I suppose.
>>
>>22141917
What! No, we are not running Britfag! Turn around and have Gerin engage the enemy!
>>
>>22141917
That battle made me feel sexually aroused.

Although I'm a little sad that everybody retreats... I guess Brit really wants us to live to see another day. (So he can torment us even more later down the line.)
>>
>>22141917
I do not think we should end this here, we have not crippled their force, they will merely peruse us. Running now means our people starve and get chased down. We need to keep fighting or it's over.
>>
>>22141869
Ermetha is open, if ever there was a good time to strike, it would be now. I retract my vote to run, I say we use our control over Gerin as a chance to take down this imperialistic bitch while she's distracted with Khione. If these crazy fuckheads see us slaughter their god, then one of two things could happen:
1) They bow down to us in awe and shame, praising Khione as their new God, us as their new lords, and Gerin as their new pope.
2) They go full rage mode and descend on us with a blood lust, the likes which we haven't seen even from the most savage of beast.
I'll roll those odds.
>>
>>22141970
Have Gerin turn back alone, their sun cannon isn't functional and their archers can't fire. He needs to go kill that god and save Khione. We need to win something here, because cup until this point this battle has been nothing but losses. Also we just lost out only advantage, Mickey's powers. We need to kill their god and banish her for a year or we are fucked.
>>
>>22141952
No, Ref. This is for the best. We werent going to win. I hate to admit that, but it is what it is. This, right here, is the best we can hope for. And maybe killing that band currently attacking the retreating lion bros.
>>
>>22141917
Even if we decide to run, at least have Gerrin yell for Khione to take off her necklace. if she is this powerful already, just imagine what she will do
>>
>>22141970
Ok, final plan.

We use our control over Gerin and have him turn around.

You won't make us run, at least Gerin turns around. We need to do this Britfag!
>>
>>22141994
Have Gerin go back. He will die. Groza straight up told him going inside was a bad idea. He felt relieved when we turned away.

Sending him back now will kill our priest, I guarantee. Khione, hopefully, will survive this. Such is all we can hope at this point.
>>
>>22141996
If we run now we all die. We can't escape their lands without being chased. Also Derrik is still not here, he can help us dammit.

(Britfag, you said you wouldn't just take out one of our heroes. I am honestly kinda pissed at you for denying us our troops)

We need to banish their god for a year an a day. That is our only hope of a least making it out of here.
>>
>>22142035
Sending just his unit back, it's our only hope of making it our of this area alive.

Also, britfag, I have another bone to pick with you. You told us that we should be raiding, and you put us against a city that is raid proof. It seem as if the odds were stacked against us in the battle unduly. I will disregard that however and just call it a tough break, but really? This seems unfair.
>>
>>22142035
This makes too much sense. I hate it, but the wolf must return home and lick it's wounds. But it's fangs will taste blood again... though next time it will be on our terms. We have learned a valuable lesson here.
PS. Tell Gerin to go pick up Trym instead. We can't leave him behind.
>>
>>22142021
I'll cast my support for this, because as much as I hate the idea of us all not being to come back but I'd hate Khione dying even more. She is clearly very powerful.

If we can't have people remember us for how we lived, we will have them remember us for how we died.
>>
>>22142042
While Khione and Ermetha are fighting they cant come outside. This is our best chance to leave with the few men we have left.

Ref, we will rebuild. We will expand. We will come back stronger and better prepared with our pantheon of gods at our backs and we. will. win. We won't just win today.
>>
>>22142074
The remaining people in Tryms unit will grab him. We need to do something, if we do not we will be chased by their god and die. We need to defeat her and banish her now. We have control over Gerin, he may die, but if it buys life for our people I am willing to sacrifice him.
>>
>>22142095
I am not calling for a victory, we need to give ourselves enough of an advantage to run away. If we do not defeat their god in combat we'll end up being chased by their army all the way back home. I do not want victory, I want to stave off their counterattack.
>>
>>22142076
The survivors are the one's who decide history my friend. Let it go, even if she does die, she'll be back again one day. Khoooine the Snow Godess...
>>
>>22142095
Also, I don't mean chased right this second, I mean weeks and months from now. if their god is banished we have a whole year to prepare, at least.
>>
>>22142120
If we do not banish their god she will lead the charge after us into our land. We need to banish her or face death for our army before we back it back home.
>>
>>22142095
Im rather torn now... But I think I will agree with Josh here.

Remember guys: They can't follow us right now, when the battlle wages inside the gates.
Even if Khione dies, she too will come back in a year.
And if they follow us / attack later, then at least we got home turf advantage and they dont have a sun gun. By then we might have a river cannon or some awesome shit.

So as much as I hate this: retreat and live today. We might as well die another day.
>>
>>22142074
Ref, I will grant one point.

I vote to send Gerin in there and help. He will have no place in that battle and he will probably die, but at least he will die honorably fighting by the goddess this battle was fought for.

As we retreat, pick up our wounded and ask for forgiveness for the losses we incurred today. Their souls shall guide us and hopefully haunt their fields.
>>
>>22142125
Our village is pretty well fortified. With the combined workforce of the Lions and the Fangs, we should be able to lay traps in the woods, and build defensive constructs to better fortify our territory, in a short amount of time. And as we've just been thoroughly shown, defense>>>offense.
>>
>>22142142
I don't think we'll make it back to our village before they catch us. It'll turn into open combat somewhere between here and home, and we will be slaughtered. If they don't have their god they won't dare follow us till she comes back, and Gerin Dawn Breaker will strike fear into their entire tribe, the man who killed their god.
>>
>>22142137
Even if they follow us home, it will probably end the same like here, only in reversed roles. We discussed this last time: They are about the same level as us and can't siege really.

>>22142145
Torn on this one as well. Having him join the fight might return the favour of Groza... but did you never watch animes or cartoons where the hero's little sidekick tried to join battle with his idol, only to get him murdered because he was more of a drag than help?... Would hate to see that happen here.
>>
>>22142145
>>22142164
>>22142142
Send the rest of our force back, except Gerin who will head towards the battle and fight among the gods.

Also have our men pick up as many wounded as they can as they run back. We need to make sure at least some survive this battle.

Who supports this plan? At worst we lose a priest, as best we banish a god and stave off their advance.
>>
>>22142180
I can't see khoine besting her in single combat, but Khoine+Gerin I could see maybe managing it.
>>
>>22142165
They wont dare follow us anyway. The only real advantage they have is their sun beam shit. We are still a large force. Demoralized as fuck, I grant, but they cant support anything decent sized enough to give us much threat.

Like I said, send Gerin in and he will die, but screw it. Let him die gloriously. Or ingloriously. As one sided as this entire battle has been from the outset, he'll probably catch a snowflake in the face and his head will explode as he shouts his support.
>>
>>22142165
To be honest, I'm not sure they are all too comfortable with chasing us... We are still many scores strong, even if fatigued (just like them). I rather believe they will be licking their wounds first... And even in open battle they would lose many more than they would have in the assault just now.
>>
>>22142184
Yea, but that priest is the priest of the battle god, who it seems is a little ticked at our tribe, but is really attached to Gerin. Losing Gerin just seems like asking for Groza to come fuck us up.
>>
>>22142202
Also, think of what happens if Khoine wins this battle. She can freeze their whole village for us, maybe kill a few from frostbite while she gets Gerin out of there.

So we're in agreement, send Gerin back... also hope for Derrik
>>
>>22142226
He wants Gerin to fight in honorable combat, not run away. He is running away not instead of facing the gods in combat as a battle priest should
>>
>>22142196
She didn't even take off her amulet yet. She might get powerful (and granted: unstable) then...

>>22142229
>>22142226
I'm more with mojo here... I also got the feeling that Groza grew attached to his little apprentice...
>>
>>22142229
To be honest, I imagine Derrik is back at the village helping them hunt. He isnt here. I lost hope on that once we started our orderly route.

Honestly thats for the best if thats what he did. Maybe then our tribe hasnt been entirely decimated by hunger if he did that.
>>
Lets just call it to a vote:

Who votes for seeing Gerin back/having him tear of Khoine's necklace/facing Ertherma in combat along side Khoine

and

Who votes for a full retreat, rallying our forces and collecting the wounded and heading back to the village while the enemy can't pursue?
>>
>>22142229
Dude, what did I say a thread or two ago, Derrik is totally getting high and fucking around in the woods, he totally abandoned us. We're probably going to go back to the village and find him sitting by his tree, trying to act all cool and mysterious while his eyes turn as red as the blood that was spilled because he didn't fucking help. AT ALL.
>>
Good eveneing, bit late i see.

As for the current situation, my vote goes to Refrek's plan.
>>
>>22142269
>Who votes for a full retreat, rallying our forces and collecting the wounded and heading back to the village while the enemy can't pursue?
Clearly voting for this.

Only thing that would make me send Gerin back is if Khione can't tear off the amulet herself... Then I'd reconsider.
Britfag would have to confirm.
>>
>>22142279
Yeah, I call complete bullshit on Derrik. Taking away one of our heroes then having him not help at all. Bad form Britfag...
>>
>>22142269
I obviously vote for sending Gerin back.
>>
I hate this vote. Groza warned Gerin. He totally did. But Gerin is a warrior first and foremost. He will do as he will do. Maybe Khione could win without the amulet on, but with as fast as they're moving, who is to say he could manage to get in there and take it off of her before Ermetha launched a nuke arrow to kill her?

Its a hard friggin' choice.
>>
>>22142269
Fall back men! Let not her sacrifice to her tribe and to her love be in vain!
>>
>>22142312
If they win the Khoine will aide him in his escape. if they lose then we will lose our warrior priest and have to change him out for our shield maiden we created a while back.
>>
>>22142295
Yeah, Britfag, just to clear this up, can she take the amulet off herself or would somebody need to take it off for her?

>>22142327
>>22142289
>>22142269
>>22142312

Ok so we have:

2 - sending him back
2 - full retreat
1 - super conflicted
>>
>>22142337
I would also like this cleared up Britfag
>>
>>22142348
It all comes down to Josh... you hold a lot of power in your hand son... don't fuck it up...
>>
>>22142376
No pressure, right? We either lose one or we lose both. Honestly, it should be Mickey fighting with her. That's how the movies would have it go. I'll cast it once the necklace thing is cleared up and may god have mercy on my soul.
>>
Also, I would like to say this. I do not think sending Gerin back is an autodial. i think it will trigger a duel situation like we have had before. Which means Gerin will be in a duel and we all know we're awesome a duels (haven't lost one yet). Also Gerin is uninjured and the sun goddess will be weakened from fighting Khoine.
>>
>>22142392
We either lose one, or risk the possibility of losing both. If they manage to best her Khoine could freeze their whole village solid while we make our escape. Think of how much of an advantage that'd be.
>>
>>22142407
We almost lost one, actually. Almost lost one out of three. A lucky, lucky, incredibly lucky dice roll saved Trym against the Lion Tribe Champion.
>>
>>22142337
Khoine can indeed remove the necklace herself. It's just a necklace, when it comes down to it.

Incidentally, there is a reason for EVERYTHING that has happened, I assure you. I swear I have been nothing but fair and rational, unbiased this entire thread, or may the apocalypse start right beneath my feet!

Counting the votes though... Okay then! We'll go with the winner!
>>
>>22142426
She can remove, but she hasn't. Which means I doubt she will. We need Gerin to go over and rip it off. At the very least her increased power will freeze their village something feirce.
>>
>>22142392
Ah, but imagine how that might play out... she prepares to sacrifice herself willingly, knowing the one person she is doing at all for is safe, only to have him show up and get arrow'd in the chest. She can come back, but once he's gone, he belongs to the underworld. It is a sad, yet beautiful tale of romance we will tell our ancestors about for ages to come... The Tale of Mikhula, Servant of Fire, but Lover of Snow...
>>
>>22142434
>or may the apocalypse start right beneath my feet!
>inb4 news reports of england being swallowed by a gigantic lava eruption...

Also I always had faith in you, and the Derrik thing!

totall not sucking up to Brit

>>22142453
Well, if she ends up freezing their village, I doubt we will ever make friends with them... Oh well.
I guess their attitude towards us will turn rather... cold.
>>
>>22142475
At this point friends no longer seems an option. If we beat them in one battle I thought we might be able to force them into peace, but a prolonged campaign... the only choice is eradication.

>>22142474
Sounds depressing... that's why I say send Gerin
>>
>>22142434
Retreat. I'm sorry Ref. I don't see any gain from sending Gerin back in there.
>>
>>22142511
I stand by your decision. lets collect our wounded though, make sure as many as possible survive. Their archers are confounded, we could collect probably at least 60-70 men whom can survive.
>>
>>22142511
Groza warned Gerin. Khione is sacrificing herself for us to get away and Gerin may well just die for nothing.

Besides, we need to keep our priests for when the Sun People attack us, if they do. Ermetha is already pissed about Khione and Mickey and we'll need him for that. We'll need all of our heroes for that and the gods they serve.
>>
>>22142475
>>22142475
I should kill whoever goes back, just for that pun, but I don't want to give players the cold shoulder.

So, the votes are... Changed? Oh good grief.

Currently it's 2-3 in favour of a full retreat. I'll give you 20 more minutes to hash it out or I will go with THIS vote. Incidentally, is Gerin, or Mikuhla you'd be sending back?
>>
>>22142511
Also, a loss and narrow escape instead of a win will be a much better motivator than a victory for the true military structure idea. We need to do a few things once we get home:

> Increase our god lore, send out the priests on their pilgrimages

> Increase our defenses by a shit ton

> Add the organized military to the Riverlands Concord.

> Increase our war tech by a lot

> Get that priest to give us damned bronze tech already

> Prepare for their counter offensive
>>
>>22142529
This might end better than expected... Thanks to anybody who thought of releasing our icy goddess. I'll buy all of you a pot of berry wine.

>>22142554
I think if everybody confirms their vote, we won't need to wait. I'll keep with retreating.
>>
>>22142554
It'd be Gerin, he is the only one we control anyway. And we decided on retreat. Josh was the last vote. Lets get out of here and hope that the bay of wolves come to support Khoine.

(also, when we get back to the village we are calling out Hrunti and Groza for abandoning us in our time of need while Khoine fought and died)
>>
>>22142554
Naw Brit, it's retreat. This entire sequence of events has demoralized me to a ridiculous extreme.

Lets get our asses home and begin working towards a brighter, stronger militarized future of conquest.

I'd also like to ask one question, if I may Sir Brit of Faggington. Horses, man. When can we get some horses?

Also, when we get back we should demolish our temple to the sun goddess and convert Mickey to Khoine priest. THe sun goddess knows about the two of them now, she won't give us any power. having a temple to he run our village will only give her power staging point to mess with us from. We need to get Khoine's power up and wait a year for her to return. (also if she does die the winter this year will be very mild... which will be a good thing for our food stores)
>>
>>22142604
The southern planes beyond the Lion Tribe village would be my guess.
>>
>>22142554
Britfag, we are voting for a full retreat while gathering as many wounded as possible. That was the final plan (I change to throwing my support behind this instead of sending Geirn back)
>>
>>22142569
Agreeing with that. I suppose we can send any priests / heroes we don't need for immediate survival (derrik hunting, rina fishing) on a several month pilgrimage.

Also I hope by "military tech" you mean supply and comms, rather than weapons.

>>22142633
Yea, let's turn our back on the sun and worship the night instead.

>>22142619
I love you for that.
>>
>>22142633
And don't call out Groza. For the love of all things holy don't call out Groza.

IIRC gods can be killed permanently. lets hope that doesnt happen. Please don't let that happen, Britfag.

Also, seriously, horses.
>>
>>22142664
Yea... Let's not be mean to Groza. I think we got him back on our side after Gerin showed some balls. No need to call him out. I'm positive in the future he will be more inclined to help.

Though horses don't help with the siege situation. Still nice though. Alternatively: Dire goats.
>>
>>22142693
Horses would help immensely in the field though. A good chunk of our losses came from hit and run archers. Cavalry would eliminate that issue.

Plus they are faster than cows at pulling carts/shrines/siege equipment, make scouting infinitely easier, not to mention exploring open areas. Horses would make our shit soooo much easier.
>>
>>22142693
>Dire goats.
Seriously now, though. Just thought of this: Some dire mountain goats would be awesome. Have our cavalry just casually ride over their mountain range and hit them in the back next time.
Retarded enough that it might work?
>>
>>22142664
Screw horses, let's learn to ride the deer and be like the tribe from Princess Mononoke. Then the suns won't know WHAT to do.
>>
>>22142693
Yeah, I think sending Gerin on a pilgrimage to the spirit realm to be trained in combat directly under his god will do him good.

>>22142664
No they can't, if their physical form is destroyed they get banished for a year and a day
>>
>>22142729
>>22142732
Excuse me... we have a wolf god.

Dire Wolf Mounts? I mean come on.
>>
>>22142729
Maybe, just maybe. Goats eat just about anything too, easy upkeep.

What do you say, Britfag? Maybe a herd of horses or dire goats happen to amble past our retreating army on the way home and we capture a few. Ostensibly for food and all, but then we figure they might be good for riding and shit?

Let some small good come out of this debacle, please.
>>
>>22142734
>No they can't,
Well, to be honest, we never had a god kill a god before... only mortals.

>>22142732
Yes. YES.

>>22142726
Yea. Now add to that the possibility of climbing mountains. Dire goats, man, I tell you.
>>
>>22142765
>>22142771
Honestly I hope Derrik shows up and helps with our retreat. maybe as the enemy chases us form the forest comes dozens of packs of wolves.
>>
>>22142765
Lessons learned are good, but they are rather bitter. Maybe a little bit of honey would help the medicine go down?

After that Dick Van Dyke reference, I'm all about Mary Poppins references.
>>
>>22142760
Yea that would be awesome! Let's go tell his priest, so he can go and- oh yea, that's right, or wolf priest is a fucking 2edgy4u deserter.
I almost feel like killing the white wolf again I'm so mad. But I guess it's not his fault his priest is such a douche.
>>
>>22142760
A wolf god that doesn't care much for us... Just like his disciple it (right now) seems.

But I could dig wolf mounts. Or alternatively a hit and run squad of independent dire wolves.
>>
>>22142800
Id also settle for our villagers not starving when we get back.
>>
>>22142798
More like Derrik comes stumbling out of the woods, stoned out of his mind, talking about how he's been 'communing with nature.'
>>
>>22142801
We did tell him to do what ever he wanted.... maybe we should have been a bit more specific. We heard the baying of wolves though, I don't know what he was doing (maybe ambushing off screen sun tribe people or something). Derrik is a cool hero, he wouldn't have just abandoned us.
>>
>>22142815
Hrunti has never cared for anybody but Trym and Derrik to be honest. And we did tell Derrik to go do whatever he wanted to do.

Can't be too mad at him for doing whatever he wanted to do. Its on us for expecting him to help our battle. Brit has said time and time again that we need to be specific when we do things and we never do. Even though this time was pretty obvious what we meant but eh.

Besides, I still hold faith that Derrik did something helpful somewhere.
>>
>>22142838
Dunno. But I like playing the role of the paranoid jumps-to-conclusions loudmouth, and until I see some results to shut me up, I'm gonna keep talking shit about our deadbeat of a wolf priest. Heresy be damned!
>>
>>22142836
Also, us and the lion tribe are now a combined people. Their boost to our city will probably make up for the losses. I really hope we can convince them to stay... I mean, only twelve of their men survived the battle.

>>22142837
If he does I am having Gerin slay him on the spot.

Also does anyone agree Gerin should bring Ya'jal with him to train with Groza, and if Foza calls him out on it for being a joke gift say "Every gift from my god is precise, even those he does not mean to be."
>>
>>22142865
I bet on our retreat we see the dead bodies of an army 300 people strong that was about to ambush us from behind... with lots of what seems to be wolf poop strewn around.
>>
>>22142875
They have to stay now. The sun people survived, meaning they're still a threat- they can't defend themselves with just 12 people. Basically, we hold some leverage over them.
>>
>>22142884
I do find it kind odd though... their army is larger than their entire population. Does anyone think they have allies supporting them like we do?
>>
>>22142875
I second that training with the spear thing.

You know, the worst thing about this battle was the ruined expectations that somebody would do something cool. Trym did his best, but I expected that spear to have some hidden purpose or Derrik to do something spectacularly helpful at the last minute.

These things did happen and, well, slightly disappointed is what I am.

C'est la vie.

Also, that failed night attack was complete bullshit. Sure, it wouldn't have gone off without a hitch, but for them to appear to already know what was going to happen? That, that was bullshit and I will never forget that.

Once again, c'est la vie.
>>
>>22142899
Hey, nothing spreads quite like zealotry. It's not too hard to believe, I guess. Would explain a lot, certainly.
>>
>>22142910
Yeah, the failed night attack was bullshit, the far they could still fire the sun cannon and they could suddenly appear along the wall and know what was happening. It seemed very.... well planned on their part.

So you know what I think? They are using either our shrine to her or Mickey himself to spy on us while we planned.
>>
>>22142899
Allies would explain a lot. Britfag evening the population after our extraordinary gain would help too.

But mostly the fact that they probably trained their entire population to fight in what they thought would be a make or break battle against an army they believed wanted to exterminate their people.

Shit happens.
>>
>>22142918
This war is far from over then.
>>
>>22142941
Oh no. It's just beginning.a
>>
>>22142899

This has crossed my mind too. Good scouting might help us in this. We had no scouting done when we started this though...
>>
>>22142910
I mean, they probably knew they're gods powers would be weakened at night, and planned that defense knowing we would assume the same. And we didn't exactly make it hard for them, I mean we camped at a bridge, where we would have no means of easy retreat, they were probs planning to ambush us anyway. They're too damn smart too be this crazy.
>>
>>22142937
Yeah we do have like 350 trained warriors back at our city doing nothing. In a do or die battle we have a huge boost to numbers.

Also, as a gensture to the lion people I say one of our first acts upon getting home is build them shrines to the Lion god and the Crow god in our city. We need to make them happy.
>>
>>22142949
Thing is though I thought the fact Mickey lived in their village for an entire year would have provided us good intel.
>>
Anybody got an idea for our losses? Our tribe specifically. All of our allies lost well over half of their warriors in this totally somewhere around 130. Our losses are probably slightly higher around 150-175.

We got boned really hard. Thats a massive loss to our work force.

Lesson though, we start raiding and work from there.

Once we find something to ride, we'll become raiding masters.
>>
>>22142947
AND SO ENDS CHAPTER ONE OF THE ______ WARS.
(We should probably think of an official name for these things, since this is probably gonna escalate to that level)
>>
>>22142957
Agreed. Some reconciliation would be good.

>>22142937
Yea. TBH we don't really know for sure if all those guys were actual sun people, right? Could also just be guys from another tribe.
>>
>>22142996
We have lost a total of 136 individuals. This is wounded and sea, I think we can recover maybe half of them.
>>
>>22143010
They will be called the Sunset Wars.
>>
>>22143031
It's fitting, it's just it sounds so... pleasant.
>>
>>22143020
Our return is going to take forever. For. Ev. Er. It was slow coming, but now that we're carrying wounded its going to take even longer and we dont have the food for that.

We'll lose more men, I'm afraid.

Granted we have to feed fewer, but still. And its almost winter. Don't forget that bit.
>>
>>22142604
That would be telling, wouldn't it? I'm sorry; this is hardcore mode. You don't get 'see all resources' cheat codes.

>>22142910
Again, there's a reason for that.
Seeing their escape about to be cut off, Derrik's band surges forward into combat with the encroaching Sun People. The desperate fury of their charge quickly sees off the aggressors, the Sun People turning and running before they inflict more than a handful in casualties. As the tribe collects its wounded and pulls back across the river, the blizzard still rages at the walls and flashes of light reveal swirling snow at the gates still. Khoine is holding out well, it seems!

Break camp and retreat fully? Or continue to siege the village?
> Warning, warband food very low.
>>
>>22143049
Yea it fits. Although for some reason it makes me imagine a pleasant beach volley ball tournament (war...) on the beach...
>>
>>22143060
>Break camp and retreat fully? Or continue to siege the village?
>> Warning, warband food very low.

Sieging would mean death by starvation even faster... Retreat and after we ran for several days start scavenging as much as we can, while trying to stay mobile and fast.
>>
>>22143060
Send men out to collect as many wounded as possible then leave. We need get out of here. I do not want to leave until we check all the wounded or until Khione loses. We need to have as many survivors from each of our tribes as possible. Everyone in agreement?
>>
>>22143060
... I'm having second thoughts
>>
>>22143149
Also, have someone shout for Derrik to get his lazy ass out here and to help dob globbit.
>>
>>22143152
Ok, no. You are not having me run then turn around and say keep fighting. We are getting the fuck out of here after we collect our wounded.

Unless we go with the sending Gerin back plan now. If khoine wins in the fight she can freeze their village solid.
>>
>>22143149

Agreed
>>
>>22143149
Yep.

>>22143152
Don't. We can't always change our mind... Although: what about?

>>22143171
Maybe the wolves went ahead and hunted for some food for us?... pretty please?
>>
>>22143209
Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for. The wolves will bring us food so we don't starve on the way back, because the moment zero help is kinda pissing me off.
>>
>>22143198
Alright, alright, I'm just afraid Britfag's hinting for us to go back, but I agree, we're already in retreat mode, turning back would just draw out further casualties. Better to get back and prepare for a return fire. If Khoine actually manages to defeat Ermetha though, and she comes back to the village and tells us about it- even if we don't have allies we have to march back, they're wide open, and we have superior warriors on our side.
>>
>>22143273
But if we wait for the end of the battle and she loses then we all die. I am unsure if we should stay or not. Maybe... stay in the siege camp and get ready to leave but don't head out till we see the end of the battle?Collect our wounded while we wait and get ready to run.

That's what I think we should do.

Who thinks collecting wounded and wait for the end of the duel is a good idea. We can still run afterwards if she loses.
>>
>>22143323
Yea, but then we would lose our opening to escape without being run down. They're troops are in chaos, but once that battle dies down, supposing Khoine loses, they're going to use the chance to cut down some more of our men. It's a serious gamble.
>>
>>22143323
If we wait and she wins then we have a huge advantage over their village. Their raiders outside are crushed and their sun cannon will not work because she is banished. Khoine can press her super snow advantage and we can make for the city gaits while the archers can't shoot.

The tides will turn HUGELY.
>>
>>22143352
We stay back with the Earthsplitters and them. There will be enough space for us to make our retreat if Khoine loses, but we can still head back.

I vote for collecting our wounded and waiting for the battle's result.
>>
>>22143323
>>22143273
Can't agree to that... Even if she wins, let's leave it at a blow to their moral. No returning to assault them. We are badly beaten up and all that.

>>22143362
>>22143352
I'm against that... If she wins, she can still blizzard them and then run off... I can't agree on risking all our guys NOW after Khione made an opening for us to flee...
>>
>>22143380
Ok yeah, you're right. i change my vote again to breaking camp. if the wolves show up and khoine wins then they can kill a shit ton of sun people while we prepare. I change my mind once again.

Full retreat.
>>
Full retreat. We'll just have to scavenge on the way back. Maybe send some men out on our wings to scout for other villages we could barter with for some food.

I mean, it took two months to get here, there should be some other villages somewhere around here.

And if we come across sun people allies, well, we know their troops arent home and certainly they wouldnt mind us just taking their food, eh?
>>
>>22143417
Lets call a vote:

Gather as many wounded as possible then make a full retreat

or

Wait and see if Khoine wins

I vote for collecting the wounded then getting out of here. Who is with me? At the very least a god battle will complete ruin their village, I mean the snow is wrecking the place as we speak.
>>
>>22143455
Seconded, but I would like to add my point on looking for other villages on the way back to alleviate our food problems and maybe take a little retribution on sun people allies. Assuming we come across any.
>>
>>22143380
You speak the truth, I'll side with the retreat option. This is some pretty good battle strategy, if I do say so myself. Now let's hope and pray that the dice spirit favors our tribe this night...
>>
>>22143455
>Gather as many wounded as possible then make a full retreat
This.
>but I would like to add my point on looking for other villages on the way back to alleviate our food problems and maybe take a little retribution on sun people allies. Assuming we come across any.

This also. BUT ONLY IF THERE IS 100% SAFETY FOR OUR GUYS.
They probably didn't send all their guys to the suns, so they will have people at home.
>>
>>22143455
OK BRITFAG, WE ARE GRABBING OUR WOUNDED AND RETREATING INTO THE NIGHT. ALSO IF WE SEE ANY VILLAGES ON THE WAY BACK WE'LL GO AND BARTER FOR FOOD, BUT IF THEY ARE SUN FOLK ALLIES WE WILL TAKE THE FOOD IF THEY DON'T HAVE SOLDIERS.
>>
>>22143505
Oh course, of course. No need to lose more than we have to, but if we come across a smaller village that doesnt look so easily defensible as the Sun Village then I say we take our chances. But once again, only if they are sun people allies.

Any other village we happen to chance upon we should attempt to have fair dealings and make friends. If we can find a village somewhere round about half way, that makes our second attack all the easier.
>>
>>22143554
Then again, what WOULD we barter right now? Only things we have are carts and military equipment... Not that I'd mind giving a bit of that up for not starving.
>>
>>22143584
Well, carts are worthless once empty. We can build more and copper isnt scarce yet. And who wouldnt mind taking a slight hit in gain with an armed mob nearly three hundred strong standing just out of reach of their walls?
>>
>>22143584
We have surplus weapons now that a lot of us are dead and wounded and so can not use them. We can parter with our military equipment.
>>
>>22143619
I'd like to add that we would try not to be threatening, but considering we are still an incredibly large force for our current times, this show of force would lead them to act ... well, favorably to us.
>>
>>22143619
I get ya. Although if they don't have carts themselves, they might still be worth a bit.

>>22143629
I doubt any of our guys has the level head to think of collecting the weapons. I bet they don't want to spend any more time than needed near the enemy right now. Still, selling some weapons, even if we don't have an actual surplus is fine by me.

Theorising over a village that might not even exist...
>>
Epic thread is epic. They think you ran. Time to come back.

>sacrificing Khoirne
>losing support of all tribes
>being a general embarrassment

Lets not. Turn and fight!
>>
>>22143695
That's about 80% of what we do in these threads, speculate.
>>
>>22143701
Not a chance, it's far too much of a risk for far too little reward. We need to get out of here while we have the chance.
>>
>>22143648
Or the alternative- we use our tribe's advancement in the auditory arts to put on a smashing music number to pay for our meals.
>>
>>22143695
Might as well plan for the possibility before we get there. We don't do much of that and things need to change.

Also
>This is hardmode
Hello priest, we're the choir. What's that you're preaching?

>>22143701
>Lets not. Turn and fight!
You weren't there man... you weren't there. Oh the horrors!

>>22143724

I strongly oppose such God-whoring. It's night, Khoirne is pmsing. They think we ran away. Hit them.

Also, we can human-ladder the wall if we find an unguarded piece.

This is the worst Christmas present ever and I got socks one year. Socks that were too small. I hope that means something. haha.
>>
>>22143755
Too much of a risk, they have shown to be powerful enough. We are far below half strength on troops. Even if Khoine manages to win we will have a hard time beating them. if she loses we are all dying this day. I want my heroes out of there.
>>
>>22143755
Yeah, you can have your black ops if you let us just leave.
>>
>>22143755
We do not call that beautiful sacrifice made out of love and commitment "Whoring." She saved the tribe. She saved the thread. We owe her our lives. We can't waste them on foolish blood lust. We must repay her by regrouping, growing stronger, and then, when the day comes, we shall make it so that the sun shall fall, and the wolves howl eternally at the moon.

Junger Mann!

And with that, I'm out. Best of luck to you all with the apocalypse, and happy holidays.

Honestly I expected us all to die this day, but we didn't. We didn't lose any heroes either! All we lost were red shirts, and those are easily replaced.

Nein. Oh god, I'll try.

Young man! You are still green/wet behind the ears and far below me in rank! Watch your tongue, or I will have to remove it. Now is not the time for such brazen and rushed acts. It is now of far greater importance to keep our proud tribe alive.
We will live. Our pride may be hurt, but by far not broken! This will only make our revenge so much sweeter.
And now be dismissed, soldier. The colonel orders it!

>>22143897
>halfway
:'(
>>
The warband breaks camp that very night, travelling until daybreak to get as far from the Sun People village as humanly possible. They lost dozens of friends and family members on that battlefield. Spirits have never possibly been lower. Towards the end of the night however, who should appear in the middle of the march, but Derrik! As awareness of his presence quickly spreads, several of the warband grow extremely angry.

String him up right away, leave him, or question him? Up to you folks.
>>
>>22143988
Also, we learned from this mistake... and the Lion Tribe being absorbed into our numbers will make up for all those people dying. The combined House Lion and Wolf shall head into tomorrow.

Young man! You're still wet behind the ears and I with the rank far inferior! Beware of her tongue, or I'll have to remove you. Now is not the time for such indiscriminate and rapid action. It's just gotten much more important to our proud tribe alive.
We will live. Our pride cracked, but far from broken! This is our revenge just to make so much sweeter.
And then passed out, soldier. The colonel commands it!

Thats what google translator came up with, lol.
>>
>>22144009
Question him. Also, how many of our wounded did we recover?

Use him to replenish food supplies. Nah, question him first.

Question him. I grow weary and would appreciate some answers.

That made me lol harder than anything else today. Much better than what I came up with.

Also i am going to say this now. He's going to come up to us and say this.

"Their leaders lay dead, their upper echelon's blood have been spilled, their throats ripped out by a great white wolf. We may have lost, but this day they have lost as well."
>>
>>22143875

>>
>>22144087
that's true, if he did something he thought was treason he would have stayed away
>>
>>22144009
Also, I am writing up a speech for Gerin to present to all of them.
>>
Maybe we should propose some questions to ask? So Brit doesn't have Gerin or whomever ask the wrong questions... you know it's true.
>>
"Blood, on the fields blood has been spilt. We were defeated, and the Riverlands concord cracked. However, we are not broken. Our god, khoine sacrificed herself to give us another chance. We must do her honor and prepare ourselves for the next battle. This war, the sunset war, is far from over. Now we know that this war will not be won so easily, we know that only with half effort we can not defeat the sun people... and their allies. We must steel ourselves, we must create warriors to crush them. We must prepare for battle. We must prepare for war. The Riverlands Concord must remain strong, for the glory of the four tribes!"
>>
>>22144246
Ok, here are our questions:

"Where were you during the battle?"

"What was the sound of wolves we heard the entire time."

"Also, be honest with us Derrik. Hrunti granted you power, what exactly was it. We are your people, you can't keep us in the dark."
>>
>>22144009
The warband hauls Derrik before the heroes of the tribe, where Gerin takes it upon himself to ask one very simple question. "Where the hell did you vanish to? Do you have any idea of the time we had in that fight?"
"Of course I do," sniffs Derrik, leaning on a branch he seems to be using as a stick, "Why do you think I left you there?"
The warband seems momentarily stunned by this answer, so Derrik sighs and continues reluctantly.
"I know everything about what happened in that battle. The wolves told me," he holds up his hands to forestall Gerin's next question, "Let me guess... 'Why didn't you help out then?' Right? Well let me lay it on the line for you, shall I? It can't have escaped your notice... Look at me and what do you see?"
Again, nothing but confusion, so Derrik sighs and scowls, the sound halfway to a snarl, "I'm an old man, you dolts! And old, blind man! I would love to know what the hell kind of use you think I could possibly be on a battlefield like that one! I manage well enough, sure. When you have no way to look, you learn to listen and to smell, but in that kind of chaotic mess, I wouldn't be able to tell a damn thing about what was going on! And for that matter, I'm not as spry as I used to be, though Hrunti certainly helps. There you have it then. Still feel I should have stuck around to help out?"
>>
>>22144416
Well, shit. Guess we better get all our priests apprentices when we get back.
>>
>>22144416
Dafuq. He has a point, but telling us that up front would have been so much better. So. Very. Much. Better.

Screw it. Accept his answer and learn from the mistake. We've made so many, why not add another one to the list?
>>
>>22144416
Gerin comes forward.

"Yes, I do. You deserted us Derrik, in our time of need. At the very least you would have inspired your men. I realize you are blind, and I know your physical ills would have hindered you, but you could have done something. The wolves listen to you, you could have asked for their help. You could have asked for Hrunti's help. Something! You abandoned your men in their time of need and now they are dead. Maybe we shouldn't have put you in charge of those men, but if you thought yourself unfit you needed to say something! Not run when we were in need! You accepted your command, you needed to stick to it!"

We let him go, but if he does this again we'll kill him. Don't tell him that however.
>>
>>22144416
I'd also like to ask what he did while he was hanging out on the sidelines.

He said what he didn't do and why, but he must have done something. I refuse to punish him, his answers make sense to me, but I'd still like to know that bit of information.
>>
>>22144416

Oh wow, I talk a lot of shit about Refrek failing the tribe, but that was me failing the tribe when I let Derrik go, damn.
>>
>>22144508
>"Blood, on the fields blood has been spilt. We were defeated, and the Riverlands concord cracked. What will we do now? Roll over and show the enemy our bellies? So they can gut us quickly and end our misery? No! We are not broken! Our god, khoine sacrificed herself to give us another chance. We must do her honor and prepare ourselves for the next battle. This war, the sunset war, is far from over. Now we know that this conquest will not be won so easily, we know that only with half effort we can not defeat the sun people... and their allies. I call for Gerin making this speech to the men.
>>

Elderly blind man who everyone things can turn into a wolf, and has shown in the past to be able to lead groups of hunters on hunts masterfully. I get the whole confused smell deal, but still... he should have fucking said something!
>>
>>22144608
Also Britfag, you didn't answer me. How many of our wounded did we recover?
>>
>>22144596
I dont care what gets said at this point. Derrik still has his uses and we neglected to put him into a role he would fit into better. Our bad.
>>
>>22144557
>>22144508
"You're the one who told me to 'do as I please'. Or so your messenger said," retorts Derrik, flatly. I took that to mean that you'd come to your senses about having me in the middle of all that mayhem. As to what I did... I watched and listened. Wolves make fine scouts and hunters, but a battle like that? It's simply not in their nature. I feel no regret at leaving, though I do regret the lives lost. I could have played no part in it however. Consider what it would have done for 'inspiring' the warriors, if I had been killed. Even Trym only managed to slay a half-dozen in total and was still struck down. I would have been a hindrance had I stuck around, with others trying to keep me alive, instead of themselves. Now if you don't mind, I am going to rest these old bones of mine in one of the carts." He turns to go, muttering as he does, "And if you MUST know what I learned from Hrunti, ask politely next time and ask BEFORE sending me off into a battle." To say he seems disgruntled would be an understatement. 'Seething' is closer to the mark.
>>
>>22144623
Yea. I'm also getting weary of this. We should head home and rest for now...

>>22144548
Maybe deliver that when we are back home and rested for a day or two. I don't think anyone wants to hear bullshit right now about how we failed. Let's get them to our village first. No need to drop their morale any lower at the beginning of the long march home.
Also we can still question him at home then.
>>
>>22144623
Yeah, he should have voiced his concern however. I still want to ask if he did anything to help though, rather than just stand by.
>>
>>22144685
Send him a bottle of our remaining berry wine. Also, Britfag, how many wounded did we recover? i would very must like o know.

>>22144691
Good idea, we should do it when we get back.
>>
>>22144697
He didn't. That has been made clear enough.

Lets just head on home and keep scouts on the wings looking for villages to trade with or plunder depending on the situation. Scavenge as need be and all that good shit.
>>
>>22144725
I mean while he is resting, to try and calm things down. Also have Gerin go apologize, say this:

"Tensions are a little high after the battle. I'm sorry we put you into that position. Your place is not war, not any more. Your place is among our people, where you can rest your bones and train apprentices in the way of Hrunti. When we return we will establish a priesthood for you, like mine with my devouts." Gerin hands the old man a bottle of berry wine and smiles, saying this, "You still feel up to training apprentices, old man? They can be rather rowdy" He then leaves, leaving the man the very wine and going back to cumin at his temple cart.
>>
>>22144748
Yes, also make amends with Derrik. When we get back we will make our speech and prepare for war. You guys good with that?
>>
>>22144792
Sounds dandy. Of course we'll do all that fine stuff and get ours farms producing food again to boot.
>>
>>22144748
>>22144776
Agreeing with these.

>>22144792
>prepare for war.
speech yes, prepare for war? not for at least another 2 years... we still have a lot of fixing to do. defenses yes, but offense not right away.
>>
>>22144619
Ah, crap, yeah, sorry! Let's see... You set out with about 400... You've only got 196 now...

Wounded recovered from the field equal 84 wounded men and women, plus Trym Wolfsbane.
>>
>>22144832
That's what I meant, a defensive war, not an offensive one. We need to be prepared for a defensive war. Our defense can be increased by a lot.
>>
>>22144792
Oh and before or after the speech we should hold a ceremony, blessing the fallen and remembering them.
Maybe combine with the urge to stick together even more after such harsh events and that we may have to fast (as in low food consumption) for a while. We could disguise that as an honorary thing to our fallen.
>>
>>22144863
We set out with 350.

So 196 non wounded and 84 wounded?
>>
>>22144863
Oh god... This makes me so sad.

>>22144871
Indeed. I still want my goddam moat / irrigation combination. Or maybe seperate those two... we don't want corpses floating in the fields...
>>
>>22144884
I say after the speech. We lay the dead to rest then look to the future. Maybe add something into the speech about "looking towards tomorrow".

"Blood stains the road we have walked, but we must cast our eyes towards the horizon. We must look towards tomorrow, the next day. We must see the sun on the horizon, the sun we shall destroy. Let us run towards it, run towards the run rise."
>>
>>22144889
We left with 350 of our own men, the ES sent 80 and the Lions sent 120. 550 people all told. Coming home with 280 wounded. We should probably stop somewhere soon and try to patch up as many as we can.

And like I keep saying, look for villages. Any to be found would be helpful as can be.
>>
>>22144913
It's not that. We lost about 150 (or 80 if the wounded don't count in the 196). There should be around 150 lion tribe individuals living with us now so the numbers will be absorbed. We can maintain the workforce and keep moving forward.
>>
>>22144962
Pardon, 280 including wounded.
>>
>>22144962
he is talking about our men, not us plus the other two tribes.
>>
>>22144913
>moat
I doubt chani will really be eager for war, but imagine a river cannon, that simply flushes out any potential attackers...

>>22144936
Yea. We could use something to lighten morale. What I meant was a means of making the incoming starvation less obvious / avert it slightly by having our people fast (food abstinence, don't know the word) in honor of the dead. Get me?
>>
>>22144981
>>22144981
I think Britfag was talking about just the Long Fangs, not the Earthsplitters and Lion Bros too.
>>
>>22144995
And I'm including all of them in my total. We cant just write off their losses as not our problem.
>>
>>22145003
Yeah, I don't like the idea. We're gonna get control of our tribe again until our warriors get back to the city. We will use that time for all food to try and get the problem done.
>>
>>22145015
Wait, wait. So we ourselves only lost 100 people? That's not nearly as horrible as I would've imagined.
>>
>>22145015
Yeah, but we can't say they are completely not our problem. When the war comes to our doorstep they will be our allies. We gotta be... safer.
>>
>>22145025
Fudge it, the numbers confused me.

Regardless, I hope our tribe didnt do nothing this entire time and have been hunting and fishing during our misadventure.
>>
>>22145036
Yeah, we lost more than a hundred I think. Not sure. We gotta ask Britfag about our total alive individuals.

Britfag, how many people do we have alive? What is our total losses?
>>
>>22145025
Well, it's nearly winter, the deer herd is getting smaller, fish swarms might get smaller soon, our farms aren't working, and fruit harvest is a joke... I'm hoping we can do without it, but it's a possibility and also just a thought of making it less detrimental to morale...

>>22145036
100 for now. With trying to treat the wounded while retreating and all that, I'd imagine more than 60% oh them might fall....
>>
>>22145070
We don't have a gap of not controlling them. We lost control when the battle started and now we are going back. The actual battle lasted only like a day, so I think we won't have a gap of control.
>>
>>22145070
Well, our battle time didn't last too long actually. Not really a turn. While our army was on the way there, the tribe did stuff. Now while we retreat they will again do stuff.
>>
>>22145070
Let me make this perfectly clear:
Current un-wounded Long Fangs: 196
Current wounded Long Fangs: 84 + 1 Hero
Current living Lion Tribe: 49
Current living Earthsplitters: ...26 + chief

Yeah. You are HURTIN'.

That said though... Is this it..? I-is this finally it? Can I finally say...

TURN OVER?
>>
>>22145103
Ah, good point. Now I suppose after the break we'll return to a village in turmoil.

Fun after fun!
>>
Ok, we just do this and we head home. Gerin heads over to Derrik:

"Tensions are a little high after the battle. I'm sorry we put you into that position. Your place is not war, not any more. Your place is among our people, where you can rest your bones and train apprentices in the way of Hrunti. When we return we will establish a priesthood for you, like mine with my devouts." Gerin hands the old man a bottle of berry wine and smiles, saying this, "You still feel up to training apprentices, old man? They can be rather rowdy" He then leaves, leaving the man the very wine and going back to cumin at his temple cart.

Also, besides this we just have to head home. Gathering food on the way back as much as possible and covering our tracks as best we can so the sun folk can't follow.

Also one last thing: Mickey tries to summon Khoine, to see if she won the battle or not. If she comes that means she won and we can ask her how it went. If not we know we gotta move a bit faster.
>>
>>22145141
Well then, not so terrible. Yet. We're obviously going to lose more people on the trip home but I figured we were down at least 300 all told plus whatever we were going to lose on the way home.
>>
>>22145141
Nope see >>22145163

Also, one last thing. We have a lot more than I though. 281 alive? We only lost 70 men. Awesome! Also wounded lion tribe men as well (do they have any). Anyway, lets go back and lick our wounds.
>>
>>22145141
Also lets think about this. We lost 70, lets say another 30 died on the way home. That's 100 lost.

We have a 100 deficit, lets try and shore that up with our lion allies.

100
- 49
-----
51... so there only has to be 51 non combat lion folks and we will have the same number as we did before the war started. Woo!
>>
>>22145251
assuming they stay with us at all, that is.

We do hold some leverage and all, but its up in the air, really.
>>
>>22145261
Their warrior numbers are down a ton, if we make them feel welcome then I think they will stay with us. We just have to convince them to stay. Besides, moving back would sucks... I bet we can convince them to stay at least until the end of the war.

Anyway... this ended much better than i thought it would.
>>
>>22145308
Much better after considering how dismal the entire thing was. I mean seriously, everything we did was wrong. There was no way to win. Hard mode or not, this shit turned into mission impossible and Tom decided not to accept this one.
>>
>>22145410
The Khoine thing was the only reason we survived. Lets just hope we get her back when the time comes.
>>
>>22145251
Be prepared... Attrition from 0 food is HORRENDOUS for a reason. Let's just say the chief of the Earthsplitters is NOT looking happy.

>>22145163
"Fah! My place was never war, young pup!" Derrik snorts as he accepts the berry liquor and takes a deep draught, "It'll be a rare sort who I train, but I suppose it has to be done. I've got some wisdom to pass on yet, but it's folks like you and Mikuhla that need to lead the way. Sooner or later, you're going to realise relics like me are slowing you up. Thing is, sometimes you need to go slow, or you rush in too headstrong." He pokes Gerin in the stomach with his stick, "Like here. Lick your wounds and learn from it. Now leave me be. An old man needs his rest!"

The warband doesn't stop all that day and by the following night, they are exhausted, almost falling asleep as soon as the warband stops for the night. Fighting past fatigue though, Mikuhla takes the chance to pray. What he gets in response is... Unexpected. It is a rare thing for gods to manifest and walk among the mortals of the world whenever called to. Most often they simply rely on vague projections, if they chose to show any sign of their presence to aught but their priests. It's therefore unexpected when Khoine appears in a flurry of snowflakes, looking battered, tattered and worn, but very much alive, throwing her arms around Mikuhla at once! Even more unexpected however... Is the faint image of Ermetha that also appears, as well as the image of a man unknown to the tribe, both of whom stay politely quiet, until Khoine finally lets the Long Fang priest go.
Ermetha simply sighs and shakes her head at Mikuhla, "Well... That could have gone better," she states."

And although I know you ALL have lots of questions to ask... They will just have to wait, I'm afraid! That is IT for tonight, folks!
>>
>>22145163
*berry wine

*coming
>>
>>22145472
>inb4 ermetha and mikuhla are sisters and their daddy showed up
Thanks for the thread once again Brit.
Was a really nice one tonight.

When was the next one coming again?
>>
>>22145472
That is ALL for tonight, folks! Because I feel like leaving you on a cliffhanger for next time; it's a cheap way to make sure you remember me after Christmas! I hope you all enjoyed today's thread!

I can't believe it's finally over. The next battle will be much more streamlined, I swear. And hopefully it'll have better graphics too, though I can promise nothing... If any of you know how 2 sprite art or somesuch, I'd be very grateful. I hope the experience hasn't put you all off any further conflicts!

Now, the question is... When do I make my return? I can either have the next thread be on the 27th of December, or the 1st of January, 2013. Which would you guys prefer?
>>
>>22145472
This. This is why I continue to come back.

Brit, I hate you and your bullshit dice for that battle. Not really. But that is such an awesome fucking end to go out on for this break.

Everything else will happen as it will, but I have hope for a brighter tomorrow.
>>
>>22145472
Well... our snow goddess is alive. That's all I could have asked for. It seems as well that the two gods aren't too pissed, at least not enough to strike Mickey down. We need to talk to them when we get back, ask exactly what they want from us and what the future will hold from their tribe. Also I bet the man is their other god, the sun un decent, or possibly their moon god. Also it is a good think Derrik isn't too pissed.

Also, as a very last thing:

Our army will move slow, covering their tracks and gathering food on the way.
>>
>>22145520
Not sure if I'm available on either of those dates, so I'll let others decide. Though I think 1st has a higher chance of me showing up... don't wanna wait that long though.
>>
>>22145520
I would like december 27th please.
>>
>>22145520
I hate to wait so long, but I think it would be better if we waited until the first of January. Get the holidays gone and done with. I'm sure you have stuff you want to do other than run this thread right after Christmas so I'll leave it up to you and the rest.
>>
So, would anyone like to speculate about this whole business. I am now unsure whether we should destroy their temple or not. Now I think we should speak to Ertherma before we do that now.

Also I say we will see losses of between total 100-120
>>
>>22145568
Also I don't think I can wait that long. I vote for the 27th. How about brit just starts the thread on the 27th and if no one shows up after like 30min just abandon it.
>>
>>22145599
I see the ES getting furious and deciding it's time for internecine war.
>>
>>22145599
yea, some talking and questioning is now in order... like i said, i somehow predict (fear) that those people might be family...
then again, maybe that leads to friendly negotiation with the suns after all?
>>
>>22145615
Not going to lie, I'm greedy as shit when it comes to something I enjoy doing. The 27th would be awesome, but, once again, I'll let you decide this on Brit.
>>
>>22145626
Wait... the sun in ascent and the sun in descent created the goddess of winter? And we learn the khoine is not actually winter and is actually the goddess of darkness, the cold of night....

Holy shit... that would be such a twist. My head would fucking explode.
>>
>>22145639
Yeah, it's up to you brit, but I would prefer the 27th.

Also HOLY SHIT we're alive! We didn't die! Khoine is alive! We have intrigue and shit! Holy fucking horse shit!
>>
>>22145681
By the power of FRIENDSHIP

Also I will try and be there, on any of those 2 days, but I can't be sure.
>>
>>22145681

From low to high, this thread has been. Excellent work Britfag, excellent work. Speaking of, it's time for me to go to work. Good night anybody still here and I'll see you all when I see you.
>>
>>22145706
>>22145639
Seriously, coming into this thread I was prepared for a TPK. How the fuck did we make it this far?
>>
I'll be honest folks... I think I'm going to leave the holiday season be. Apart from anything else, a little break will help me stockpile new material (I need to handle this shit with care. I swear, I even re-rolled some of those dice in the battle, to give you a fighting chance!) And as I also have to run a DnD 4th edition AND an L5R game in the new year... I think I'm going to need a brief break.

Sorry to disappoint you folks! The Civilization Quest will return on January 1st of the year 2013! All of you stay well until then, do your best to survive the apocalypse and oh yeah..!

Merry Christmas!
>>
>>22145717
>>22145728
>>22145732
Awesome. Hope to see you all on the 1st then. Or in company civ, if I make it.

Happy holidays and all that. Get laid on new years eve!
>>
>>22145752
Company civ will be tomorrow then again on sunday. So there is that.
>>
>>22145732
That's fine britfag. Have yourself a rest and come back ready to see the Long Fangs rise again! We need to change our ways, we need to get ready for this.
>>
>>22145752
>Get laid on new years eve!
... That was a good luck wish...

>>22145777
Excellent.
>>
>>22145852
Well, there is minimal chance of that for me. I am going to be at a family party.
>>
>>22145880
Oh my! Made me laugh. heh
>>
>>22145917
Yup, and unlike most rednecks I do not advocate for anything involving cousins.....

also there is no alcohol...

or anyone else below the age of forty...

I hate my life.
