Welcome to the Magical Education system...or at least the system for the Kingdom of Salren. The fledgling kingdom and King has always seen the advantages in having Wizards on his side.

So he has chosen You, The final apprentice of the wizard 'Flaren Firebreath' the last Archmage of which the whole world knew of. And had countless apprentices who had...befell dark fates. But you got lucky, Five years of training and the old codger died.

You were hired by the king...well...less Hired and more Abducted from your bed with all your things and brought to a large complex out of the city with the simple order given to you by the king.

Make a School for those talented with any type of Magic. I don't care what type of magic.

The ax men and the men with crossbows told you what would happen if didn't do as you were told.

But first...what kind of Magic user are you?
A: Jack of All trades. (Can do all types of spells. Master of None.)
B: Conjurer (Better with Conjuration Spell)
C: Illusionist
D: Abujer (Abjuration magic)
E: Necromancer (Death Magic)
F: Healer (Healing)

The keep is large and on the top of a high mountain not far from the captial city. While old and slightly worn but still very nice.

Young Michel Lightarm goes up the many steps of the keep to his slight complaint. As he reaches the top he finds it is already...well...perfect. The king had gone to no expence to already stock much of the Larder, the higher tower rooms as small bed rooms for many students. Along with a master bedroom with study and connecting hall to the half full grand library.

You settle in and find that it is quiet to your liking and on your desk you find a scroll for you. As you open it up, you find the seal of the king and it says simply this.

"You have One month to find at least one apprentice from the surrounding lands. As such you may also take any sort of servants of beasts or any apprentices. Just inform them they will be serving the kingdom as a Wizard of the State for at least 10 years after their training is complete. Any magic is fair game for them to learn."

This puts something in your head...how will you find an apprentice? You have a month to do it and can put it off for a while...but what to do first.

A: Take stock of the surrounding forests and mountains with a Scrying bowl in your study.
B: Go out yourself. No need to use the magic.
C: Go explore the strange dungeons, which are locked.
D: Go look around the country side for an apprentice. (Sending letters and different postings.)
E: Write in
>>
>>22045899
A
followed by
E: prep magical defenses and a summoned servant or two.
then
B & D together, get the feel for them in person, magic is important like that, needs the personal touch.

As you drew a small circle on the stone floor of your study you focus on your summoning spell. After about Two hours of prep and then the spell itself, you summon a Dire Rat.

You start to fight the creature for about five minutes and fry it with a nice sized spell. This ruins the circle...seems it also wasted your daily summoner spell.

As you knock the door down...the smell of many cooped up creatures hit you first. You go down the steps as the light in your hand touches the stone walls as you go into the bowls of the dungeon built into the middle of the mountain.

Inside a few of the cages...are...wait. Goblinoids? As find a small clipboard from a nearby stool you quickly learn the castle was a prison for the bandits and other nasty little creatures the guard caught and didn't feel like killing.

Going through the small dungeon you find the creatures in the cage number as such.

4 Kobolds. (2 Females, 2 Males)
5 (Goblins. 3 Males, 2 Females)
And as such that's as deep as you go. You find the beasts are being fed by runes conjuring food from some unknown plain. (Probably some smuck's bag of holding)

The creatures are...well fucking BORED of sitting in the dungeons in the tiny cells. They walk out and quickly bow to your awesome wizardry...

They agree to a small contract between the rest of the goblin clan of 'Briarteeth' and the Kobold clutch 'Scalerot." They agree to be somewhat like servants. The goblins can make the basics of their own for the dinner for the night for all of them in the 'grand hall'. As they are left to their own goblin and kobold devices...they find the servants quaters are perfect for the goblins and the lower tower rooms for the kobolds.

As the night passes and you sleep in your huge bed you wake the next morning the normal things for wizards putting a new spell slot for a second summoner spell.

You sit in the highest point of your study pouring your magic spells and your focus into your scrying bowl. AS you study the images you notice that on a valley between your mountain and the mountain range away from the Capital you can spy a few small villages...seems like a good place to start your student hunt.

Along with that you spy a few small tribes of gobloids but not enough that would cause problems to anyone with a sword or pitchfork. As you watch you also see in that there are old ruins in some old cave on a mountain just in the edges of your vision.

As the goblins run around in their rags and the kobolds do the same in their scaly hides you decide this won't do.

You call them to the study, that you've decided would be your school office, and pick a few old tabards with the magic eye on it. They slip on the basic covers, making them wear the ponchos over their rags.

This shows their at least in the service of a wizard. So most will consider talking to the creatures before outright killing it.

At the choice of heading to the nearby village you set out with a small pack for the four hour walk there and back. The youngest of the goblins tags along carrying a few scrolls for you and a hammer to protect them.

After the long haul and meeting no beasts of the forest you walk into the small mountain town. Seems most were trappers and such, they were surprised at your robes and watch your minion carefully.

As you take a scroll from the goblin you nail it to a large wooden board in the middle of town with the location of the tower and the call for those magically gifted.

On the way out of town you see a young boy, not much was surprising about him except his size. Clearly the age of learning his place in the world he is very scrawny compared to the other children.

"Hello boy." You say as you sit next to the boy in the small square. He looks up at you and he has bright blue eyes and dark red hair, almost brown infact.

"Tell me...why are you sitting here?" You ask vaguely looking around as your goblin stands not far away next to you playing with a small puzzle you gave him to hold.

"Father does not want me in the house. Mother and Father are busy cleaning up the skins for market and they say my lungs cannot handle those chemicals used to tan the hides." He said simply looking with slight curiosity at the goblin not saying much else.

You raise an eyebrow and motion for the goblin for the goblin to hand you the puzzle. You offer it to the boy and say, "Try solving this for me. I can't remember quiet how to get the prize inside I put there for safe keeping."

The boy takes it for a moment and weighs it for a few moment. It was a small sphere made of metal made by a gnome from your youth. You had never figured out how to get it fully open but through years and stories your friend told you it held a bit of a gift for you. As you were lost in thought for a minute the boy pokes a few buttons in it, spins the top a bit, then presses the top indent causing it to glow and project a small bit opening up to a necklace with a bright blue necklace.

You don't even think before saying "How would you like to be a wizard?" AS he looks to you in surprise he nods quickly. You go to the parents and talk through, the father and mother happy to help their new king and have the boy serve as a wizard. He couldn't do much with soldiers and such...

The goblin and the boy quickly collect the child's possessions and he is given a good sack of gold by his father as a parting gift and a short sword by him to remind him of home.

As you go back you remember you had forgotten something and looked down at the boy walking next to you, "What's your name apprentice?"

"My name is Furin Arrowblade. Thank you sir, for all these chances." As you all reach the home castle you can set him up in a tower with a large dorm. He quickly gets settled and the goblins and kobolds are told to treat him as they would treat the master of the keep.

As you meet your young apprentice in the hall to eat at one of the many tables you give him the basics of reading and writing. The boy picks it up quickly, as his father showed him the basics after meeting the town's trader.

He picks it up and you give him the basic book of magic. He seems to be taking to this quickly.

You head to your master bedroom and quickly fall asleep. The next morning...

A: Take stock of the surrounding forests and mountains with a Scrying bowl in your study.
B: Go start your 2nd lesson.
C: Go explore the strange dungeons, which are locked.

SO BAD IT'S GOOD! Anything under 5 will be so bad it's good.)

As you draw the circle in the large with your young apprentice standing at a table writing notes about the circle and the ideas behind it. You stop a few time to answer a question and then start the spell...as you go on something happens.

The dimensions of the circle over lap something that was written long ago on these very floors and something falls through an over head portal. You can barely get out of the way before it crashes to the floor and breaking alot of furniture as it landed.

It was roughly the size of a Orc but in bright yellow armor with red symbols.

What do you do?

As you told your apprentice to get out of the room you go closer to the odd thing and poke it in the shoulder with your staff. You poke it a few time and it bolts up.

"FOR THE EMPRAH!" It shouts as it jumps up looking around. It soon trains it's head, or at least it's helmeted eyes at you. "What the fuck are you?!"

"I am the Owner of this castle and the Wizard-" You begin before he raises his hand.

"Don't care. Where the fuck is this planet in the sector?" He asked growling. It pulls it's helm off and has a small hood with crystals on it. "I need to get the fuck back to the squad or they'll not leave any Ork scum for me."

You blink and tap your staff on the rune for banishing the creature still the circle back it's world.

The light flashes around the creature and it drops some kind of Gauntlet and disapears. Your apprentice sticks his head and asks what happened.

"Shitty setting Happened. Lesson over. Don't summon shit in this room."

You go back to your study to scry around the forest. You focus on the area and find a bit of storms around the mountains, a few more small camps of things.

You also spy some small group of what looks like adventurers going down the road near the castle...your old master always was weary of them. Afraid he'd go and kill him or take all his treasure.

A: Go out and invite them to your home for the night as it draws near.
B: Don't do anything...hope they stay away.
C: Better lock those doors...

(So bad it's good.)

You walk out of your castle to the road where your road goes to your keep and wait for them. As you wait the adventurers come up and greet you kindly. One seems rather fidgety and others seem alright.

Inviting them up to the castle for the night they are rather Civil. The Dwarf enjoys the fine stone work, the Fighter enjoys the hearty climb, the Elf likes the fine nature around the castle, and the Orc...the orc makes everyone pissed for some reason.

As the day goes on the group is having a light bit of lunch as the Goblin brings out a nice plate of the fine fish the Orc jumped up and tried to smash it with a hammer.

A fireball is cast from your finger tips to knock the orc into another table as the Goblin yelps and runs back into the kitchens barely getting the trey of food onto the table in it's haste.

"You don't FUCK with my minions." You say looking Pissed. You nearly blast him again when he gets up quickly waving his hammer.

"That's a goblin. Those nasty beasts of Evil. I can feel it and I must destroy the evil goblin devils."

"Shut the hell up Grimtooth." The Dwarf said burping a bit. "If you keep up with being a paladin moron like that I will kick you down a gully and leave you there."

"But...They..." Grimtooth said and is nearly knocked down again.

"We thank you for your kindess Wizard. We will leave you for now and remember your house's kindness and loyalty to your staff, even if most would not consider them reliable." The elf said smiling. He was first thought to be a girl...but elves always did look a bit...fruity.

They soon leave and give you a map of the local area. Something you didn't have a good marking of that gives you a good idea of a recent movements of animals.
