Last time on Goa'uld quest:

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Goa%27uld

You, prodigal and magnificent offspring of Ra and Egeria, have nudged the host currently inhabited by thy illustrious self into getting somewhat more relaxed in drinking and carousing while at the local watering hole.
As alcohol progressively weakens your bonds with the host you focused on nerves and muscles to keep unimpeded function during the progressively more excessive consumption of said substance.

You currently are witnessing as through glassware your host winning a game of chance with lowly blaspheming criminals, while she attempts to enter the aforementioned blasphemy, as it seems the pair of lowlife scum are waiting for a third.
With your prodding from last episode your host, Alexandra has decide that she will not spite you out of sheer... spite, and will continue to drink them under while she herself becomes more number

As Alexandra patiently waits for the contact of the two, she noticeably reduces Alcohol intake and starts again to eye the exits of the room as well as remembering routes to various places of the city.
It is however not long and a very serious looking man enters the room, and without many words and much displeasure he mentions them to get outside and stop being sidetracked.
You see the options forming in your hosts mind, either to follow or to enter the party somehow.

As they walk outside your host sits calmly at the table and takes another sip of firewater. But then she walks calmly outside through the back door behind the counter when the bartender is not attentive.

Prowling after the targets, you overhear they are about to make contact with a garrison guard in the nice city of Berswith near the stargate on Tir na nog. It seems they will be arranging a payment of some kind and securing transportation for something.

They soon arrive at the local barracks meeting with a duo of jaffa, after certain procedures and after currency exchanges hands you see them checking on a Zat, a sample, it seems from a bag that it seems the Jaffa will forget at the side of the road, judging by the volume two dozen at the minimum, perhaps three if there is no padding and supports.
The entire scene is however overseen by a trio of jaffa who seem to ready staffs for aiming out of cover.

If a Zat, then yeah, taking out 3 Jaffa from cover is easy, especially since we kept the alcohol from interfering with our host's muscles and nervous system.

But if not, then just stealing the Zats might be safer.

After her thought of "You think I can't take them?" she proceeds to slowly make her way as hidden from sight and without noise as possible under a string of mental insults, blasphemies and profanities .

The first host is crouched behind a cart and she gifts him with a broad blade in-between the neck-bones, and splitting the vocal chords, letting the victim witness his and his comrades death in silence.

The rest of them similarly die by cold steel and have their staff weapons liberated as she proceeds to approach the illicit exchange.

>Also, try to bring those staves back if we survive this. I have an idea.

What I'm thinking is we cut them down to just the emitter and the power cell, then mount them on a small cage and wire the triggers so they fire sequentially. We then put a water jacket around it connected to a backpack radiator, which should let us overclock the emitters for a higher rate of fire, and finally fit the assembly with handles like we saw on the mercenaries' weapons. We were planning to replace the staff weapon later anyway.
>>
>>22042653
Or just cut down the staff to just the power cell, heat dissipator and the emitter, and mount two of them into a framework reminiscent of the mercenaries' kinetic weapons, and designed to fire in sequence to provide a steady doubled rate of fire.
>>

A staff opens up with a crackling shimmer to the back of a corrupt jaffa while another does the same pointing at the three characters ready to split.
"Looks like you boys need some help. Someone's on your trail, because three Jaffa were taking aim before I got rid of them.” Her voice tone however drops into a monotone of a lower tonality as her head darts towards the weapons merchants. ”Don’t even think about drawing anything on me. Better yet drop the bag and step away from the piled up arsenal.”
„ As for you two gents, i don’t really care if your commander has gotten suspicious and has you followed or you were about to doublecross or perhaps deliver justice onto your would be business partners . You have royally fucked up. You are now known to a lot of people, and they could certainly turn the story to become very problematic for you. I suggest you get one fast, about how the three dead jaffa were the sellers, and you managed to stop their depredations, but were to late to recover the last items they desecrated That would be more something that could get you a better ear to the garrison command I am sure.” With that she throws a staff to one of them “And while you are at it put a shiny bolt in their wounds to make it all look kosher. Else you just sold a lot of Zat'nik'tel. and are about to be told on to your commander. Go.”

As they start to wearily leave the scene her attentions turn to the weapon smugglers “ As for you, I think i will take the loot and take a fair share out of it for facilitating security. You can pick it up in my room in the morning. I am sure you can find me.”

>>22042730
Why would you do that? Gun design is a multiple century evolutionary process. Goa'ulds dont really care about that beyond ha'tak guns and hara' and kara'kesh depending on what said goa'uld is
>>
>>22042981
>Why would you do that?
Why? WHY? Because we are a GOD! And superior to all who have come before us!
And also because these tau'ri have shown the weaknesses in current Jaffa weapons and tactics, and how a determined and clever enemy doesn't need superior technology so much as superior military thinking to win.
>>
>>22042730
We could, but adding an extra emitter and a water cooler will at least double the rate of fire. If we get one shot per second from each emitter, that's 180 staff blasts a minute with greater accuracy than a Tau'ri firearm (since there's no recoil) and enough power for at probably least an hour of continuous fire before reloading.

>>22042981
Normaly it would be, but we've spent enough time with the mercenaries to see the end result of that process. As for why, we're starting out at the bottom of the pile and we need every advantage we can get if we want to reach the top.

Speaking of which, do we have a verdict on using gas to clear out the ships?

Wasn't it we make the ship think there's fires all over it, but delete the lifesigns from its sensors, so it thinks that its safe to pump in halon and carbon monoxide to put out the fires?

Water cooling tends to add a lot of weight to a weapon, and you have to worry about it boiling off meaning you have to carry more. Water cooled versions might be better for fixed emplacements where you could stockpile what you need,
Having an air cooled double staff weapon/carbine should be more than adaquate.

Once the Jaffa realise there are entities on board the ship that are undetectable to human senses killing everyone they encounter, they would probably be quite receptive if we open comms and give them a 'thou hast angered me' speech. They'll either ignore it, in which case we go ahead with killing them, or they decide they'd rather work for us, in which case we vent the gas and steal the crew along with the ships. I think High Admiral Leviathan has quite a nice ring to it.

Once we have a ship, we can probably cannibalize a death glider to produce a robot body, since it already contains a life support system and a set of actuators linked to a neural interface. The downside is it wouldn't be able to feel anything, so we'd probably need a personal aquarium to avoid going insane from sensory deprivation.

As your host returns to her sleeping arrangements she inquires in detail about the Tac units, which she places and activates in her room so that the first will shoot at the first step through the door and another at the second, of course after reporting to a fellow combatant about tonight's misadventures, and her idea of ingratiating herself with the less savoury elements of both human and jaffa society, giving a accurate description of all parties involved in the criminal and most likely capital business.
With defensive precautions and debriefing out of the way she goes to sleep, and you wearily would like to do so aswell.

I'll go with this if thw host knows her chemistry, otherwise procedures and protocols.

Quick thought: a ha'tak is said to cover a distance of 10 AU in 'minutes', which if we assume means 60 minutes from the perspective of an observer on board the ship, puts the top speed of goa'uld engines at around 80% of lightspeed. If we built a smaller ship with a similar top speed, say an al'kesh with all its cargo capacity replaced by additional power generation, we could equip it with a set of 1-ton steel lances and use it as a kinetic kill vehicle. At that speed each lance carries about 15 gigatons of kinetic energy, so the pilot just has to line up the enemy ship, accelerate to top speed, release a lance and pull away. A ha'tak can bring 30 staff cannons to bear on a single target at 200 megatons each, so that's 2.5 ha'taks worth of firepower in a ship the size of an al'kesh. If we can carry 12 lancers per carrier, then that's 30 ha'taks worth of alpha strike capability. Rearming time will cut into firepower quite significantly in a prolonged fight, but for blitzkrieg it's perfect.

Your soon find yourself in a labyrinth of compartmentalized memories hard to find and fleeting when you view them. However both of you are too drunk to be holding mental defences of immaculate designs and it all descends into a spindly chaos of thorny nightmares hunting you and your self punching through darkened old brick walls of foggy, cold and rainy surroundings
You witness betrayal after betrayal, treachery at every pace, lies and slander, deceptions and charlatanry. All done in the ranks of the enemy or in the ranks of comrades with little regard for who it might be the target, with half-hearted belief that the orders were right and with half-hearted reports of verifiable facts only.
You soon acknowledge the shadow organisation inside the beast of arms and how it keeps information from the enemy and from itself, how it creates fake information and trickles it down when they know or even hope that their counterpart will believe it, and the willingness to sacrifice people so that it is believed.
A great headache soon overtakes you and are able to go no further, however you believe you have the knowledge needed to create the rudimentary bare bones of such a secret police, should you have need of it.

>>22056469
You are however aware that goa'ulds prefer biological bodies, even in the comics with the robot rome.

>>22056281
And Ha'tak's and boauld bases and stations have FTL sensors, are not subjected to subjected time dilatation while on acceleration run and they usually
avoid them without much trouble.
You also see that most ships when they exit hyperspace stop at 0 momentum and start to accelerate afterwards.
>>22055851
Well is that not what you want to do with that Ha'tak you dream about?
>>
>>22056862
yes it is. I'm just quickly getting bored with this part of the quest. Can we speed it up?
>>
>>22056862
I did say sensory deprivation would be an issue in a mechanical body, but we can solve that by keeping different bodies for different occasions. You don't wear your work clothes when you're going out for a party.
>>
>>22056888
If you want to capture a mothership when all you have is a still-immature body, a somewhat antagonistic host, and the dubious agreement of a band of tau'ri mercenaries that they won't simply kill you when your usefulness is at an end, you have to do the legwork to make sure that the operation goes off successfully.
>>
>>22056888
Too bad for you, I'm enjoying the slow but very detailed pace. OP, keep on trucking.
>>
>>22056862
>not subjected to subjected time dilatation
Well that would mean that the ship's apparent speed is the same as its actual speed, which leads to the rather interesting conclusion that the sublight engines can reach a top speed of at least 1.38c

I don't know what to think anymore.
>>
Rolled 9

Disregard my poor use of English. The idea was that since they are stationary or not moving over 0.1 c they are not experiencing time dilatation barring a black hole.
While you they would be RKKVist are, and have already been detected. Now what do you think is going to happen.
A) they move away.
B) They move away and intercept you with white hot plasma shots
C) They move away, put something in your way (gliders are cheap), and then jump behind you and proceed to blow up your 0.8c speeding ship

As you wake up, your host has already stirred and is going for her small piercer weapon. You too become aware of the mechanical noise the lock is slowly creaking. Without a sound Alexandra gets out of the bed, and starts slipping into something more presentable. And then puts the bag square in the middle of the room.
A count late in the night yielded 30 Zat'nik'tels, and now there were only 26 in it, and four on the small wooden chest near the bed. Her small native weapon is concealed again on her person and she takes a Zat in the hand, going to the mirror, on the same side as the door will swing inside.
As soon as the door creeks the two men walk inside only to be struck for their impudence by lightning. With a sharp sound the you can feel the Zat springing into action like a coiled beast ready to strike. The last one through the door is the old serious looking man and facing the disapproving visage of a erect Zat and a displeased woman.
“Now are you so without manners as to enter uninvited. Oh well, for that i am keeping this one. And three others for the three problems i got rid for you last night. Please step inside. Call me Snow White. And what is your name? It is tremendously rude after all to enter someone’s bedroom without proper introductions. ”
>>
The man still looks at the Zat, his hands ready to spring in action, but in the last second decides for the wiser course of action. “ I am Torvin, and you did not have to take out my men.”
“Yes I did. Else I would not have gotten your name, nor my fair price, now wouldn’t have I? I am certain we will be able to do business again some time. It was a pleasure to help those in need. Please, sit.”
The man not having anywhere else to stay sits himself on the bed.
“Good Night.” And a bold of thunder resounds through the man body.
And with that said the room gets scavenged of everything that was not there before it was paid for, with the exception of three unconscious men, and a bag of 26 Zat’nik’tels

Staff cannons and death gliders are a non-issue, quite simply. A death glider at full speed can cover 250 kilometers in the time it would take a lancer to cover 1 lightminute, and plasma bolts might be able to cover a few lightseconds if their range even extends that far. It's like trying to shoot down a fighter jet with a bow and arrow. A is the only realistic option, in which case the question becomes whether or not a ship that's 10% engine can outmaneuver a ship that's 90% engine, and (since the lancers are smaller and cheaper than the ships we're sending them to kill), can it outmaneuver a swarm of them?
