As Ned Salter, we are a young manager in the Extreme Warfare Federation, where those gifted with extraordinary powers use their amazing abilities to beat the daylights out of eachother in the most popular pay-per-view in the history of mankind. From Earth to Phobos, whenever a star fight begins, humans take a break to enjoy the super violence through the OPnet´s FEELware, experiencing what it is like to have super strength enough to smash a tank, the ability to fly, breathe fire or turn into living metal!

Sorry I didint show yesterday guys, didint had net until lastnigth

On the plus side, took the time to look for interesting stuff for one of the newest additions. Since I was going with a succubi-like theme for Aura, I looked around for body mods and found her stuff that tickled my funny bone.

1) Horns, because there must be horny jokes, and it will help her with headbutts, which we love
2) Hyperdense skeleton, again to help her with headbutts and melee in general

Also gave her a different image on her sheet

The image by itself. Was also thinking about starting a "spin off" quest thread with Mai´s adventures as a spy
>>
Right... Where were we? Still dealing with our Utopians, IIRC.

And I think Python still needs a fight. Did Paladin move up to Omega? If not, he's the logical choice.
>>
>>21991916
Right, he´s still Gold. Losing to both people he admires convinced him to remain in gold for a bit more.

How are you man? morning. I still need to upgrade Aura some to get her to 2nd gen nova level, but for now lets say she has a chunk of unspent exp we can use on the following weeks to customize her some. I´m still looking for a good image for our new winged friend. All I could find was a hero guy from marvel comics that they made for politically correct reasons and somehow it doesnt really looks interesting to me. Also thought about giving her a tail, but it didint really seem worth the exp.
*******

Okaba´s english is quite good, tho he seems to pause every once in a while to mentally check for the right words. Aura´s is flawless, but her voice drips with a heavy, if sensual, russian accent.

Okaba: "I hoping you could schedule some charity work for us before my first real fight? I understand the XWF does arrange that sort of thing, yes?" -pause- "I want control and paper trail on charity money after event"

The limousine steers softly through the streets. There is thankfully light traffic at this hour
>>
>>21991988
Aura: "You mean to say "I´m hoping" or "I hope", O" -she says with a content expression as she lies on her side on the large back seat

Okaba: "I hope. Right. You can cook that, mister Salter?"

Aura: -softly- "Prepare. He can prepare that"
>>
>>21991616
Amusing.
>>
>>21991988

"If that's what you want, you'll need to set up your own charitable trust. Official XWF charity stuff goes through the Accounts department, for compliance reasons, but if you want to do stuff in your spare time, with XWF sanction or otherwise, you can control that; I can get the papers for that drawn up, no problems."
>>
>>21992087
Okaba: "Cook, prepare. Same" -he says his friend, then keeps talking with you.

He agrees, it seems, and keeps asking you mostly about legal stuff, but also how much money can be raised at such events, which media reaches more people, and the like. Overall, he is most interested in environmental and social causes, which is not unusual, given that Triton and Utopia have cured a vast amount of the diseases that had plagued mankind for ages, and are hard and fast working in curing the few that remain.

Aura: "Can you arrange a guide or escort for me? I´d prefer someone of my age. I´d like to check the local fashion and stores" -she had been paying attention while you were talking with Okaba, but now she sounds almost distracted as she talks with you, tho her golden eyes stay locking in yours the whole time

The game launches in 3 hours
>>
>>21992133
My guess would be introduce her to Ami?
She'll be a co-worker, so they might as well get to know each other.

Crossed fingers for the game release and all that.
>>
>>21992133
I am now Imagining her with the innocent Ami. It is quite amusing. Also there is a character that might work for Okaba from the web comic Evil inc.
>>
>>21992133

"A guide? I know the very person"

>Ami and Aura, hitting the town together!

"I'm afraid I'll have to vanish briefly once you're home, though - I have a merchandising launch to oversee"

I forgot. Are we taking them to a hotel, or to the penthouse we got for the show? its already paid for a year, anyway
>>
>>21992220

Show penthouse.

Even if we can't get the rookies to contribute much content, these two should become an instant OPtube sensation with their antics.

Sure, reality shows with Novas have always proven themselves to be highly profitable, but much like pro wrestling, the public knows they´re fake. Producers typically follow a pattern in who they include in such shows, including "the bitch" that everyone loves to hate and that should, by all rights, get "voted out" right away yet stays because she causes tension and raises ratings. A show where they genuinely just live there should be a nice change of speed for the fans of such things.

I get this feeling Aura is the type to walk around naked in her own house, tho. At least until Okaba admonishes her

Okaba: "Nice place. I enjoy heights"
Aura: "Excuse me, coming through" -goes in to pick her room first

The SXF has rented the top three floor of the building for the show. The top two are for the future tenants, and the third is to store the hardware like the cameras and whatnot, as well as living space for the crew behind the cameras and a tiny studio for editing whatever is needed. The show will have a one minute delay between what is going on and what is being transmitted. The crew is not there yet.

Aritsu gives you a call to tell you a representative from Nike wants you to call him back, and a private law firm as well, tho they didin´t say what about.
>>
>>21992356
What issue is this? I need it for... research purposes.

And after that I might fap to it.
>>

ugh, I don´t remember. It´s years old. It´s become something of a running joke on DC, tho.
Specially considering she can read people´s bodies like a book, so she must know she´s making people aroused/uncomfortable

Johansonn (Attorney): "Yes, we did call your office an hour ago. Nice of you to call us back so soon. You see, we are representing the Make A Wish foundation. A young child has asked to meet mister Wolfside and spend a day with him, if possible. We can´t afford a large fee, but we would gladly assist you in any way, in return"
>>
>>21992449
Sure. By the way, we don't actually know any Silver division fighter. I recommend a team of three guys who each champion a different martial art. That way the Char sheet can be identical, except for their specialty. Should ease your bookkeeping.
>>
be right back, gonna get some breakfast
>>21992576
Sure, but will eventually give them each different stuff
>>
>>21992576

>tfw Super Sentai

Not sure if want :/

To be honest, I don't know if we really need to have full sheets for everyone. We can't play out every fight our guys have; too many of them. Just as long as we know who they are and what they can do, we can let KoAND run the fights in OpenRPG and post the results.

Obviously, we'd play out major bouts (like Ami's debut, the Big In Japan main event, etc)
>>
>>21992586
Yeah, I suppose our opponents grow in level too.
>>
>>21992642
>>21992654

That sounds fine. I have been thinking in a very simplified way to do it, too

Anyway, the Make A Wish foundation is trying to get Brass to spend a day with a dying child. As you talk about it, it turns out the kid is going to undergo surgery the day Rob is scheduled to be interviewed for a magazine. You have to pick one or the other. The kid will be undergoing a final surgery after that, with a high chance of death (35%), so he wants to spend the day with his favorite tv hero and get courage from it
>>
>>21992732

Leverage it.

We delay the magazine interview, but give them the inside scoop on the Make A Wish event. Pics, PR, etc.

Hell, have the journo shadow Brass on the Wish visit, and they can chat in between (super-sick kid won't be able to handle 8 hours of constant activity).

We'll get the magazine and Make A Wish in on a conference call, and charm the hell out of both of them.

Failing that, we bribe the magazine to delay the interview by offering them an exclusive with Aura a few weeks later. Heck, if the mag in question is SI, we'll get them Aura for a photoshoot
>>
>>21992789
Alright, roll business, with a +1 difficulty (need one more success than usual). Its 12d10 so it isint a particularly hard roll for Ned
>>
Rolled 3, 10, 3, 1, 9, 6, 10, 1, 1, 10, 5, 10 = 69

>>21992804

Do we get Persuader bonuses for this?
>>
Rolled 8, 6, 1, 4 = 19

>>21992984

Explodes.

And that last 10 was Mega Dice, too...
>>
>>21992984
Sure. You can roll the extra dice if you want, but it´s already a success anyway.

Later, you tell Brass about the kid

Brass: "Sure, I don´t mind at all. I´ll ask Samuel for one of his cars for the day. I dont want the kid bouncing around on one of my jeeps. Want me to show him around the XWF building and such? or should I take him to a park, or maybe out for icecream? what is he sick with, could he handle going to the beach?"
>>
>>21993020

"I think he's a bit young for the full XWF experience, but we'll liaise with the Make A Wish people, see what they think. Maybe we could sit him down to watch the pilot episode of the new cartoon?"

"If you want a car, I can get you a limo, unless you want to
>>
>>21993020
Well since the kid's interested in wrestling, maybe give him a tour of the facilities, followed by some crap that kids like to do in general?

If he's not diabetic, maybe we could see if the kid can eat his own weight in candy or something?
>>
>>21993081

"...just borrow from Python"

>Damnable phone-posting...
>>
>>21993086
IIRC diabetes has been cured already in the standard aberrant setting. By the way, anyone knows if aberrant is gonna get updated to the nWoD soon?

The game starts downloading for all those who bour a pre-order. Within an hour, people already posting online about it, streaming it, and discussing about it on /vg/.

The game is a stunning success, and the company stock goes way, way up. Ned´s resources background goes up to 5. The servers collapse for 10 minutes from the amount of work in downloads, which in the OPnet era is amazing, given modern download speeds.

Aritsu: "A coffee, sir?" -she asks you while already handing you a cup of coffee, standing by your desk, her long blonde hair carefully braided behind her.
>>
>>21993141
Krav Maga lurker here again.
nWoD has been all but abandoned by white wolf as they focus on the 20th anniversary reprint of oWoD. Part due to fan demand, and part due to the new head of the company was one of the fuckers in charge of the Grand Masquerade.
>>
>>21993141
bought* a pre order
>>21993218
Oh, so I guess it´s a good thing I didint buy any of the nWoD books? I´d really like to play Brass, Ami, Python, Okaba or Aura in a WoD game, tho I´m afraid that would break it.

Aritsu: "Mister Wolfside asked me to put him in contact with the Make A Wish foundation, so I know what is going on. The head of medicine here at the company is meant to be a genius doctor who also has healing powers on top of that, right? Should I try to arrange for her to take a look at the child during his visit?"
>>
>>21993141

"Coffee? Champagne, more like! We've just reinvented a gaming genre!"

>>21993258

"Now that's an excellent idea, Ritsu. Inspired. Please send a memo to the good Doctor. And see how quickly we could get that champagne delivered"
>>
>>21993424
Aritsu: "Yes sir. I´ll see what I can do about the champagne"

You still have to get an escort for Aura

The following day, you get a message from the medical ward asking for the documents for the kid.
>>
>>21993609
You know, his medical history, what condition does he actually has, which doctor is attending him, stuff like that.

You want to send Ami with Aura, or someon else? is not like she´s going to get eaten
>>
>>21993609

Call Ami, see if she'd like to take our newest recruit on a shopping trip.
>>
>>21993693
Ami: "I suppose. We are going to be working together, right? but we´d have to go today because tomorrow I have dance lessons and later sis is going to have me help at the ranch, unless she wants to come along for that"
>>
>>21993681

Set up the info exchange between the kid's medic and the XWF ward.

And tell Make A Wish what we're doing.

Oh, and send a memo to upper management, asking them how hard they want to push the "XWF: changing children's lives" angle. If they let Ned promote this, you'd wind up with 20 dice successes and a five-year waiting list.

I'm in favour of selling this as "Brass uses his influence to get extra treatment". Management may want to be careful to make this a one-off, or they might decide there's a PR boost to be had by taking on a select few truly serious cases, at times when the staff aren't too busy with in-ring casualties.
>>
>>21993737

"Give how, uh.... 'enthusiastic' Aura is, she'd probably jump at the chance to do it today"

>and every other day, IYKWIM
>>
>>21993790
The next morning, you find the young doctor waiting for you at the entrance. She is dressed in her street clothes, a soft-looking, long white summer dress and sandals, that give her a fresh and clean appearance. Her long, raven-black hair is bound gently behind her with a long white lace.

Dr Minamikami: "Mister Salter, good morning. Could I ask you for a bit of your time?"
>>
>>21993886
Sure
>>
>>21993895
The doctor is a head shorter than you, but gives off an overwhelming (but somehow very kind) presence as she walks with you. Rather than walking next to a petite, delicate dark haired beauty, it feels as if you were being taken to breakfast by your mom.

The doctor asks for breakfast for the two of you on the cafeteria. She gets you a lot of grain and fruits.

Dr Minamikami: "I think you could use some more grain in your diet." -she gets herself a lot of pasta- "Please go ahead"
>>
>>21993936

>OM NOM healthy NOM

"So, what can I do for you, Doctor? I already owe you a vote of thanks for agreeing to look at the boy's charts"
>>
>>21994130
Dr Minamikami: "Did you? I´m afraid I haven´t reached my office yet." -she graciously nibbles at her food for a little bit- "You know, mister Salter. I believe you are a smart man. I am not quite decided yet about whether you are an ethical man, yet. After all, you are, first, a business man. But the fighters under your care have become stronger than they were just a year ago. They seem happier, and definitively healthier."

She refills your glass with orange juice, holding the bottle with both hands, somehow making you feel taken care of. A thin mane of her silky black hair falls over her pretty face, and just now, you realize she may have spent the night at the office rather than go home last night.
>>
>>21994189
The health of my fighters is my first priority. I am sure you noticed how I have advised them against taking ...shortcuts
>>
>>21994230
Dr Minamikami: "From your last check up, and looking at your charts, it has come to my attention that your cavity is gone. Your missing tooth is back, and it looks like the tiny bit of glaucoma you had in your right eye is gone." -she comments gently and in a low voice. "Mister Salter, you did not appear to have the gene potential to erupt. I have heard rumours about forcing people to erupt in the private business world. Is that what happened?"
>>
>>21994230

"There's also my guys' primary trainer, Mai Morrigan. Working out at the ranch, you eat Nova-sized portions of freshly-prepared gourmet home cooking. She considers diet a key part of an exercise regimen"

"Cheesy as it sounds, the secret is good food, exercise and clean living"
>>
>>21994269

Query: Do we lie? I don't think we should...
>>
>>21994305
Well, do you want to lie to your doctor? as a member of the XWF, she´s your doctor now.

She IS however senior management, too. How much do you want to trust her?
>>
>>21994305
I vote against lying, but I also vote we stress a bit more than is strictly accurate how limited our "eruption" is. We are not really a nova after all.
>>
>>21994331

She's our doctor. Ergo, medical confidentiality.

"You're very astute, Doctor. On the understanding that this remains covered by medical confidentiality, the answer's yes. I underwent a procedure at the BioLab to maximise my potential. I think the term used is 'Superior' rather than 'Nova'"
>>
>>21994382
Dr Minamikami: -you are rather surprised to see the delicate and proper beauty light up a large cigar after her breakfast- "It is amazing, is it not? Utopia cured cancer five years ago. Smoking is now no more dangerous than washing my hair, but people´s initial reaction is normally "How can such a pretty girl do that. And she´s a doctor, too!?". We live in a time of great innovation, yet because we are advancing so far, so fast, most people are having problems keeping up."

She adjusts her posture, sitting straight and crossing her long legs under the table.

Dr Minamikami: "I am sure that the people that performed this procedure on you believe that they know what they are doing, but I would like it if you began coming to my office once a month for a follow up and check up"
>>
>>21994454
Fine By me. Things to do:
1. get that training session for the newbs
2. Charity work for archangel
3. Arrange Archangels debut w/ the cheat goddess
4. Arrange debuts for everyone else
>>
>>21994454

"You're entirely right, Doctor, down to the assuraces that the procedue was 110% safe, and I can honestly say I've never felt better. However, you're the expert, and I'll agree to whatever precautions you suggest. I mean, if my M-R node starts to act up, better to spot it sooner rather than later.
>>
>>21994535
>>21994549
On the condition that that fact of our erupting remains confidential, last thing we need is bomber finding out we are a superior.
>>
>>21994549
She blows some smoke in your direction... it´s flower scented.

Dr Minamikami: "Now, about this child you want me to take a look at... his situation is, honestly, not as hopeless as it seems. My powers can´t "heal" him because he does not have a "disease". Rather, he was born with a condition. His spine is twisted, but I cant "just fix him" because that is how his DNA says it should be. What I could do is operate on him, and use my abilities to fix anything that goes wrong on the table, or even bring him back to life if needed. That sounds really nice, does it not?"

You can just taste the "but" coming your way
>>
>>21994535

Seems like we could book our newbies against our jobbers, at least at first.

Did we book Paladin for his tourney rematch with Python in the end?
>>
>>21994608
I dont see why not

Dr Minamikami: "In the end, however, that is nothing that the advanced machinery we have available today couldnt do just as well, mister Salter. What will save that child tomorrow, is my ability as a surgeon and a medic, not my powers. However, if common knowledge of my powers got around, thousands of wealthy and powerful people would demand treatment. After all, my ability will work one hundred percent of the time, while a machine always has a possibility of failure. But by staying here, doing research, helping to design better machinery, developing better techniques, studying the super resilient bodies of your fighters, I have saved tens of thousands of lives, anonymously, thanks to the work I publish under various names, and will continue to work to improve medicine and try to save many times as many people in the future. Do not make me look after outsider patients again, please. My research is the most important thing for me, right now"

She offers you a couple of her flower-scented cigars
>>
>>21994671

"I'll be honest with you, Doctor - While I didn't know the nature of your abilities, the question of the marketability of the facilities here did cross my mind, from a PR, rather than financial, perspective; I am, after all, a businessman first and foremost. But I understand your concerns, and if you would prefer not to treat the boy, I'm sure we can find a perfectly valid reason for you *not* to do so. I had no idea how deep your research went"
>>
>>21994749
Dr Minamikami: "I´ll treat him. It will take me only an hour. Then I´ll use my abilities and he will leave the building walking, running, jumping, whatever he prefers. Just make sure the press is gone by then. Also, you should make sure how your powers work. Some people develop phobias that impede their powers in some ways. Did you know that most cases of motion sickness only happen when the affected person is not driving? a driver with motion sickness is perfectly fine, but that same person as a passenger will feel ill. Somewhat unrelated, I know. But is it not surprising? translated to novas, that would be like an electricity used being fine with his own discharges, but panicking at the idea of using a electrical device. Or a fire user afraid of other people´s fire. Anyway, it was a pleasure having breakfast with you. I´ll see you tomorrow when you stop by the office together with that child"
>>
>>21994827
Oh wow its late already. Well, let´s stop here for today. We´ll continue the day after tomorrow. Remember I told you guys I wasnt going to be able to run the thread on wednesdays. Archiving the thread now. Take care.
>>
>>21994827

"No powers to report, as yet. I'm smarter and prettier than I was, but nothing more. Thank you for your time, Doctor"
>>
>>21994956
As usual, im gonna keep checking the thread just in case. See you on Thursday, guys
