the Central Operation Console, this is where the pilot is situated. it has a rear access hatch, which doubles as a rail system for emergency ejection encase the suit goes critical.
there are multiple displays each detailing a different aspect of the machines functionality.
the COC has relatively light Armour on its own, mainly due to the fact that any damage that reaches that far into the mech, is likely to overload the core, and Armour plating would slow the escape system long enough to render it ineffective.

The cockpit is slightly moved upwards, the head is attached to the mech, it is sleek to allow for a more low-profile appearance. The cyan pane you see is special glass that is molecularly interwoven to allow for exceptional strength and durability. This pane allows for the pilot to easily see outside, the glass can only be seen through one way.

Are we trying to to do a "Real" robot?

The arm is pretty much armour plating and an aiming system for the weapons inside. The plating is very heavy and dense, and so can cause major damage when just swung around. I'm a lazy bastard so until someone thinks of something better the weapon is a lot of missiles.
