As Ned Salter, we manage a group of superhuman fighters in the XWF, the extreme warfare federation, where being that would have been superheroes in a better world, duke it out in the highest rated pay-per-view in history.

Guys lets take today real slow-like. Had a terribad night.
>>
Sorry to hear that.
>>
>>21805640
On the plus side, a friend that actually does pro-wrestling said he would come co-host the thread soon, once he comes back from a tournament in perú.
>>
>>21805672
Oh and he was explaining me how wrestling is actually HUGE in japan
>>
Cool. So Mai had something to tell us?
>>
>>21805686

Oh, yeah. Japan legitimately loves its rasslin'. Very common for Western wrestlers to spend some time in Japan honing their craft.

Verily

Mai: "Hey Ned, come on in" -the barefoot redhead has you go into the house and leaves the door open.

One of the dogs is sleeping inside, taking shelter from the heat outside in the much cooler ceramic of the kitchen floor.

Mai: "You know, I did some digging around, and found something for you" -she leaves you a small data block (the quantum pendrive) on the coffee table- "Now, while you check that, would you prefer thai or chinese for lunch today?"
>>
>>21805782

And that one arc where a kid is possessed by a demon and throws around dudes thrice her weight.
>>
>>21805784
why is she always barefoot? is this your fetish?
>>
>>21805784
Be a man, go for either spicy Thai, or Sichuan Chinese food.
>>
>>21805789
>why is she always barefoot? is this your fetish?
She´s a highly paranoid former spy with ridiculously high martial arts skill and omnidexterity, which means her feet are just as nimble as her hands. That´s two extra appendages to grab/hold/swing weapons with.

Also it just seemed to make sense since she grew in japan, that she would take her shoes off inside the house
>>
>>21805789
Actually, where I live, (Canada) it's wierd as fuck to wear shoes indoors.

I think it's an American thing, or something.
>>
>>21805789
Actually, many Americans go barefoot inside their own homes. Plus, she's a nova so most shoes don't last long with her.
>>
>>21805784

Actually come think of it, she probably has sandals for visitors to change into when they enter her house instead of going in with mud from the ranch ground. Let´s just assume it´s always off camera but that she has been getting Ned, Brass or whoever else to take off their shoes and wear sandals inside the house

Anyway

You grab the small data block and plug it to your datapad. Instantly, it´s OPnet connection dies. Mai tells you that is normal, just in case.

The information is about Jackie Serrano, a former house maid from one of Bomber Lord´s manors. Miss Serrano claims to have been mentally controlled by Bomber Lord for close to a year. She used to be a model/slash actress (she really was eyecandy at car shows. I think those girls have a specific name but I cant remember it) when Bomber Lord found her and "convinced her" to instead become a ornament/housemaid at one of his manors. She says that most of his house staff are under similar conditions, but none of they realize it.

She escaped simply because he made her do such things that the shock eventually got her out from under his control. That and she waited until he was out of town to discreetly dissapear

>>21805838

We need to find a way to expose his dastardly deeds to the public, ASAP.

Mai: "Now, I dont think I could find any more on him soon, and miss Serrano is much too scared to testify, but if you manage to find something else, you will tell me, right?"

She dons a "Kiss the Cook" apron and starts slicing some habanero (holding them underwater) while the pan heats up on the fire.

Mai: "Well, maybe we should try to liberate someone else from his house staff? it would be technically kidnapping if we pick someone who isint mind controlled, however"
>>
>>21805917
"Well, I have convinced some Utopia nova's to come over to the XWF. The story is supposed to be that they're here to clear out the Teragen scum from the league. I suppose its going to turn out to be more true than the Bomber Lord expects."
>>
>>21805838

"Booth Babes" is the term you want.

>>21805917

If Ned were talking to someone who was mind-controlled, would he be able to roll to realise something was up? Would his 'Natural Empath' enhancement pick up on that sort of thing?

We should probably ask her if she can take a look at our prospective fighters and tell us what she thinks.
>>

Surveillance. Wait until one of his drones leaves his house on an errand, then 'accidentally' bump into them in the street.

Ned doesn't really have a Black Ops skillset yet, though if we wanted to get our guys to stage a full assault, I'm pretty sure they'd do it.

>Brass bulldozes through a wall, Python uses Time Dilation and Hypermovement to dash around and scout the place.

Failing that, if Aura Accussa joins Archangel as a Utopia representative in the XWF, I'm pretty sure she wouldn't need much persuasion to go all Mata Hari for us.
>>
>>21806067

Anyway, Adam was arriving right now, and called to tell you he would go to the office tomorrow, so you have most of the day free right now. Want to do anything specific? I assume you can read Aura´s medical/personal file since shes being transferred to you, to find out about her.. erhh... impulsiveness, so you could call the Yakazawa biolab if you wanted to get her an appointment, tho you probably need to clear it out with her first.

Also, she has little to no actual martial arts experience, since she relies a lot on her powers.

Mai: "Sure, I don´t mind, so long as you can bring them over"
>>
>>21806201
Brass should get his mental resistance bumped. And we ashould get a power for ourselves. Maybe something that forces a will save? We might actually do some damage that way.

>>

Today's next task - Booking.

The only question is whether Brass wants to fight alongside Python for the Tag Gold, or just go straight up to Omega.

If the latter, we can fix him up with El Novo Santo.
>>
>>21806407
Well, for Omega Division fighters
El Nova Santo
Bomber Lord (Obviously)
Farmer John (hillbilly gimmick, but goddamn he hits hard)
Crusher
King Monitor
Mauler
Father Rengar
Hyperbeast

These guys are all free this weekend for a reason or the other. Brb
>>
>>21806448
Can we get a quick summary of them all?
Ned's should use his gigantic brain to gather Basic Intelligence on Brass' possible opponents.
>>
>>21806448
El Nova Santo is old school with massive physical attributes, as well as abilities to boost himself even tougher. He does a lot of aerial maneuvers but can´t actually fly

Bomber Lord uses plasma explosions (mostly) and psi powers on the side, as well as physical attacks

Farm John is a brawler type with the ability to grow massively tall/strong/heavy

Crusher turns to a super tough material and gains a lot of strength. His fists turn into battering rams but mostly he wins by holds/grappling

King Monitor shapeshifts into godzilla, basically

Mauler dislocates limbs, breaks bones and tears muscle and ligament as his specialty. His powers are mostly about movement so he can close distance no matter what. He also can emit cold from his whole body (immolation: cold)

Father Rengar has this african shaman thing going on. He says he channels beasts during fighting to take on their attributes.

Hyperbeast is basically Kodiak on steroids, stronger, faster, more dangerous in every way. His claws can cut even ethereal forms.
>>
>>21806523
>King Monitor shapeshifts into godzilla, basically
Well the obvious choice is to fight King Monitor in Japan, then!
>>
>>21806581

Is there a power enhancement that means even unsoakable damage is soakable? A counter-power to the Really Hard Fists that Python has?

Suplexing Godzilla? In the words of referee Mills Lane, "I'll allow it!"

We need to book that to co-incide with the launch of the anime series

Japan is so short on land, though, I think they should build the arena to float offshore.
>>
>>21806746
I think we could put things in the "phased-out" zone, which already is beyond exiled anyway.

Yes, I´m such an oldfag at MTG I actually use cards with phasing, still.

Cards that are phased out are not even exiled, they dont even exist.

>>21806828

A-are you me? I was just thinking of that, maybe on the tokyo bay
>>
>>21806867
>Cards that are phased out are not even exiled, they dont even exist.

Actually it's more like quantum superposition. They do exist and are represented, and when they phase in, they don't actually "enter" the battlefield (and don't trigger ETB abilities), but they don't actually exist, as you say.

Also, hello.
>>
>>21806905
>quantum superposition. They do exist and are represented, and when they phase in, they don't actually "enter" the battlefield (and don't trigger ETB abilities), but they don't actually exist

Is Brass even ready for the fight?

We need to make Brass a lot more durable.

I do want the fight to be real, though.

What I think is important is not losing momentum. I mean, we've built up a huge fanbase now. To make sure our merchandise really, really hits the mark, we need to:
1) Inform the higher-ups how important it is that we are given more creative and logistic control over production (telling them the funds and the scope they've planned is way too small)
2) Power up the hype train and do more promotional videos. Especially Ami needs to be propped up as a fucking fighting goddess. I'm suspecting something's interesting about her that we don't know.
If Bomber Lord could have been taken out by Ami, it indicates Bomber Lord has a weakness that we don't know about, considering Ami has no anti-mind control things.
3) Start building a fanbase around Ned. If Ned becomes popular, he becomes harder to fire. Which is a real concern if he gets too valuable. The higher-ups will feel threatened, and they will just fire him, figuring the old profits were good enough, if that means not losing your job.
4) Start getting better relations with the higher-ups. Arrange for a dinner at a high-class dining establishment. Bring Ami, Brass and Python. Mai won't come, seeing as we don't want them to know all our secrets.
We'll get the executives to love us as well as fear us.
5) Start getting Ned trained in mental powers. Mega mental stats are a great fit for him, and useful.
>>
>>21807022
I say we shoot it, no matter who comes out victorious, the fans would be the real winners of the fight.

....We should also get Brass a costume for this fight, maybe some Brass armor or something.
>>
>>21807080
Brass has density manipulation. Should be decent enough armor/costume.

The thing about shooting it is, we don't get to see Brass' true capabilities in the Omega league. While the business aspect is important, I think the progression and the ability to predict what will happen when the overarching Teragen/Shit-going-down plot happens is more important..
>>
Well, I think we should use some exp in getting Brass a higher Eufiber rating to increase his soak.

Btw, Hi Brass Brawler, are you on a new job? you are joining the thread rather late.

Should we end the thread here for today? I remind you we are gonna try to play rogue trader tomorrow on openRPG an hour after the regular XWF questthread
>>
>>21807022

It will happen, but not for his Omega re-debut. Something like that needs full-on hype mode (aka Ned making a ten-success Promo Roll). Plus, it'd need to be approved by Upper Management, and the Krew would pitch a fit if they weren't given enough warning

I like the idea of a Bro Match between Santo and Brass.

Other options are Mauler (absorbing the cold) or Hyperbeast (soak the damage, smack him about)

Hyperbeast's damage is lethal. Don't we only have bashing soak?

It's two more meters per mega strength dot, one per normal.

So 21 meters total.

That's kinda silly, how little it is.
I mean, if you can club someone with the statue of liberty, throwing a normal-weighted guy a couple of kilometers isn't weird.

Maybe if we get quantum leap, grab someone by the neck, jump straight up as far as we can into the air, then seismic throw them back to the ground?

>"Iron Hand (1 experience point Asso-ciated, 3 experience points Non-Associated)
Prerequisites: 1st Boxing, Karate or Kung Fu specialty or at least 3 dots of Strength, Brawl (or Martial
Arts) and Resistance.
You have toughened your hands from repeatedly strik-ing hard surfaces, until your fists are as hard as
iron. All of your barehanded strikes ignore 1 point of soak, regardless of what that soak is derived from.
Novas with the Impervious enhancement are immune to this soak reducing effect. Your intensive training
has made your hands less sensitive, and you suffer a +1 difficulty modifier on Perception & Dexterity rolls
involving fine manipulation or tactile sensitivity."
This count?
>>
>>21807859
I'm the one supposedly making the Rogue Trader
I'm totally fucking lost though.
>>
>>21807938
Throw: The attacker grabs her opponent at +1 difficulty to hit, then uses the target´s own momentum to throw him. The target is launched a number of meters equal to the attacker´s Strength (opponents with alot of momentum may travel up to an extra two meters). The target suffers a knockdown automatically, and he takes Strength +1 damage plus an additional die of damage for every two meters he was thrown(rounded down). Characters with Mega-Strength automatically throw a target two additional meters per automatic damage success. Landing on harmful objects or debris can increase the damage effect.

>Two additional meters per automatic damage success.
Did you miss this part? with mega strength 5 you have 25 automatic successes on damage, so thats 50 meters
With mega strength 8 you would have 40 automatic successes so thats 80 meters (I do agree it feels like a short distance, tho)

It is a good way to get someone to be in knockdown, tho
>>
>>21808334
Why does it do a max of 19d10 damage?
>>
>>21808049
by my count that's actually 13 (mega strength+ strength) + 1 + 40 (80 meters/2)
>>
>>21808343
str + 1 attacker´s strength. Normal strength cannot go higher than 5, so the base damage is 6

Plus 1d10 for every 2 meters you throw someone.
You throw someone two additional meters per automatic damage successes.

So basically a throw converts your potential, automated damage successes, into damage dice on a 1:1 ratio

Normally, mega strength also goes to 5, and thats 25d10--- oh you are right, its 31d10, my bad.

So with normal maximum str (5) and "normal" maximum mega strength (5) you do 31d10 damage dice.

However, a ring is not that big, you know? come think of it, the maximum damage is determine by the length of the throw. How big is a ring?
>>
>>21808334

19d10 damage that are all autosuccesses

Plus extra Mega Strength damage

Serious pain

Don't our absorption things also play in?

I feel it's kinda ridiculous we do this much damage, most of which is automated, but hey, anything goes in Omega division.

Idea: we make the marks realize Brass has been going easy on the Gold division. Nothing explicit, just show that Brass is actually fucking shit up on a continental scale when he needs to, and set out some rumors.

This will culminate in a fight against Python where the two will have to prove they didn't fake it, since how could Python get so close to beating Brass if Brass is so incredibly good? Brass would have had to have been faking it, which will do disasters to Python's reputation.

Which is where we will have the first, real fight between Python and Brass.

there´s no such thing as a impenetrable anything, just a very strong one. But lets add +4 damage.

The fight vs Monitor may be the exception since the ring will need to be extra big to accommodate him.

Anyway, I´ll see you tomorrow guys. Gonna grab brunch. Will still monitor the thread tho

Of course, this will lead to Python getting into the Omega division when he (probably) wins.

Best intro to a new division ever?

Probably.
