You finish and Satori puts the dishes in the washer without rinsing them and starts the washer, Rin then announces, "We're leaving, it's time." But..your compulsions... You look over the house, so many small things wrong with it.

It takes all your effort to struggle away from it and walk out the door, though you do push the chairs in. "You did well." She said and with that you three set off into the distance.

Your trip takes you across a large series of rivers, as you would expect. You stop at the thickest part of a small forest on an isthmus between the rivers. "Ok, from this point on we're in River Country, and we'll be ducking patrols. My intelligence tells me that the shinobi of Taki are going to be searching for us. They expect something dangerous to happen, in addition to just being unusually aware thanks to the Daimyo's daughter being in transit." She said and pointed at a small red-dotted line, "That's her course. She's going south from the village to the Capital. We have to intercept her there. Expect a fight." She said and with that she tucked the map into her robes. "The goal is to get the girl and have her escape with Daisuke." The unspoken truth was it didn't matter if they died, all of their lives could be forfeit, except for yours.

The four of you make your way quickly down the river on a small boat that was seemingly waiting. Using a quick disguise Jutsu Rin covers you all up with foliage and makes the boat look like a piece of driftwood.

Eventually you move out from the boat and, from the trees you kneel in, you see the carriage with the girl inside it. You see two armed guards on either side, not shinobi. Additionally there are at least twenty guards on both the front and the back. Rin whispers, "There are also three shinobi in attendance, though I cannot tell how strong they are." She said and looked at you and Masahiro. "You two fire the first attacks, we'll follow after that."

Sniffing around you smell the three shinobi and get a vague idea of their location. They are moving using a long delta formation, there is a leader ahead of the procession and two lagging behind. You can't see inside the carriage, and while you can smell the scents of rosewood, perfume, and gold as well as a human, you can't tell exactly who is in there.

And as your memory serves Rin didn't want you revealing the presence of your bloodline to the world, wanting you to keep it a secret especially from your Father.

Basic plan, projectile barrage the guards closest to the carriage and work with Masahiro to get the girl as fast as possible, Rin, Satori and Masahiro tarpit the guards and keep the shinobi busy for as long as possible while we get the fuck out of there with the girl. Then they run. The goal is the girl, taking out 3 shinobi will take too long and the twenty guards will make a stand-up fight a bad idea. In and out.

Why not aim our first shots at incaping one of the shinobi in the back? They're hiding in the guards right? Just focus on area that happens to contain the shinobi as well as guards.

With a flash of motion you throw a peppering barrage of kunai all into the chest of a single man, the excess weapons flashing through the large number of guards at the front of the group.

Rin and Satori appear in the front column in a flash of motion and Satori starts spinning kicking and elbowing these grown men in the clavicle and knees as Rin twirls around like a dervish with her falcon-shaped kunai, ripping their throats out with ease.

The guards finally manage to react and start mounting a defense, charging the two women who have a laughably easy time defending against these shinobi. A few guards draw bows and shoot at you and Masahiro who parry them with ease as you detect the lead shinobi running back to you as the rear shinobi hurry. "Daisuke, do it!" Satori calls out.

Masahiro zaps another guard who gets in front of the door, giving you an opening. You dash for the door and wrench it open, seeing a young girl inside. She faints at the sight of you, fortunately, and you scoop her up. A blade whistles behind you, threatening to impale you, as a tug pulls on your back and a wire, held by Masahiro, jerks you to safety as he calls. "Now, RUN!" You turn and start to move forward, but your advance is stopped by a ninja with the River Headband and a sword. "Release her!" He calls out and swings, but you manage a hasty dodge.

We can't defend ourselves with our kunai holding this girl, and we're slow. Do you want to trust the team to protect you, or drop the girl and take him out?

We need to rely on our teammates. We cant go dropping her and have her snatched up by someone else

As the man pushes down on the younger girl Rin tackles him and stabs him in the ribs about seven times, leaving him very dead as she rises, seeing the guards piling up in front of you. You keep trusting her even as you hear her throw kunai right at you. They whistle past your shoulders and head and hit the guards, blowing them apart as the exploding tags detonate.

You finally get your opening! You run, you run and run and run. You head towards the rendez-vous point and wait there, the girl unmoving and thankfully unharmed. As you wait there you smell something suddenly, a little too late it seems! A man appears from the water with iron wire and wraps it around your neck. You hold up your kunai just in time and struggle to hold him off as you fight his weight.

The water explodes suddenly and the body is thrown onto the bank as you hear the sound of many footfalls. You turn around and see a group of assorted Rain shinobi including Miwa's son. "Hey Daisuke!" The younger man says. You saw him in class every so often, he was in his late teens and a nice guy. "Great job! We're just waiting for the Captain, he was cleaning up this guy's squad." he said, pointing at the dead man.

Another presence appears and you feel the air temperature dropping around you. "Daisuke." Oh no...that voice...that presence. You turn and see, standing in front of you, the Captain of the Second Squadron. Father. One of the other shinobi grab the girl and press a seal to her, chains springing from the seal and binding her full. "We're going to Point B. Let's go."

The unit sets off as one and as you travel your Father moves to travel beside you. You haven't seen him ever operating in the field. It's like watching a great cat move, slow and powerfully. "Your job was done." He said simply, meaning he was praising you? Maybe?

"We will move to points B, C, and D before returning to the village. Do not fall behind." He ordered you and took his position back at the head of the unit.

The rest of the men in the unit didn't look extremely powerful, but you assumed that they had to be worth something to work with your highly decorated Father.

"Our mission? We had to clear out the patrols within five miles of our locations. We've been at this since early this morning. That guy I saved you from was the last one in the area. They have a nasty tendency of hanging around in the water and ambushing you. Kazunori almost lost his arm to that guy." he said, indicating the man in the unit whose arm was bandaged completely.

(For real bloodhounds that is a problem. However, our scent ability comes from being part crocodile, meaning we can "smell" in the water better than on land. We're excellent in the water.)

A bolt runs through you as suddenly you smell something. Seven presences drop around your unit and sprint towards them. Now you realize why you couldn't detect them earlier, they smelled too much like water, they were submerged in pools of water and now attacked. There are five men in black cloaks with white masks featuring paint patterns of flowing water. In the middle of their forehead you see the wavering symbol, the symbol of the Hidden Mist. Standing at the head of this group you see a tall man with blue hair and an eyepatch, and a shorter young man with short spiky blue hair and glasses. The shorter man carries a bandaged sword on his shoulder. What are Mist shinobi doing here? Do we go intervene, or stay in hiding?

I have a mission to complete." he said, indicating the girl on the ground with a single finger. The man with the eyepatch laughed again.

Miwa's son requested as he readied a kunai. The situation was tense for a moment before a hailstorm of senbon flew towards the unit, aimed at everyone except your Father.

A cascade of water exploded around them as your Father lowered his hands, his seals amazingly fast. "Oh? So you won't let us? Alright, Chojuro, agents, kill Shirogane. His water can't stop us." The man said and more needles emerged from more sleeves, Chojuro hefting his sword in front of him and closing his eyes, a hammer of water appearing at the tip of it as they all jumped forward simultaneously, attacking your Father. The rest of the unit, of course, moved, but they wouldn't reach it in time.

With a flick of his wrist your Father unleashes the energy stored in his sword. Smaller swords of ice fly forward, spearing Hunter Nin after Hunter Nin in the chest, face, and stomach, leaving them dead. Chojuro smashes them barely and gets sliced through his side as he lands and jumps backwards to stop beside his comrade. The man with the eyepatch laughs, "There you go. Now your secret is out...But..." he says, hesitating just a second as you see the worry cross his face, "I....see you've grown." Your Father stands still, the ice forming around his sword again as the man with the eyepatch turns, "Alright, this missions a wipe, Chojuro. Let's retreat." he said and your Father shows surprise, a real emotion, as he slashes after them, but hits only water clones that fall apart.

"Captain?" Miwa's son asks tentatively as the whole squad looks at him. "What...are you?" Your Father doesn't respond and then, to your horror, turns and vanishes from sight, appearing on the other side of the unit, the ice gone from his sword. From this distance you see, high in the sky, a hailstorm of icy spears forming, right above each squad member's head.

Miwa agrees to go wait elsewhere while you pass the time. This city is terrible. The people are unfriendly and often try to confront you and rob you outright. Usually you run, which is good since you're extremely fast. At dusk you return to the clinic and the woman is just cleaning up. "Ah, don't worry, he'll be down soon." The sound of footsteps on the stairs makes your heart lock up.

Standing at the top of the stairwell is a haggard bombed-out looking young man. He's about sixteen from the look of him, and his face is emaciated. His skin is sickly and pale, and his eyes are listless and dull. He's unshaven and seems weak. "Mom...I'm going out." He says and kissed her forehead with his ashen lips, "Oh, sweetie, before you go, there's a young man who wants to see you. He looks down at you, looks away, and then does a double take and sees you again. His eyes widen and he says, "Gotta go mom!" With a great deal more energy. Before you can say anything he walks outside and takes off at a dead sprint, he's fast as shit!!
