Okay This is Fabrique General Civilization Quest, 200 years ago the world was hit by asteroid Geddon, this was the impact. It has inundated the world with a simple silicon based life form called geddonite. You are a Robotics Megacorp Remnant that operates out of Light City. You are at war with The Majesty, the militarised followers of "Queen Catherine" who is served by The Order of Cincinatus.

Recently you've been expanding out into the wastes via caravans. Light City is quickly becoming a hub for traders, You hacked into a satellite and you're doing stuff with it in near earth orbit, oh and you celebrated your first christmas since leaving The Tower.

Actions are taken on turns, you have Resrouce Units that let you do stuff, and actions are taken after consensus has been decided. Once that's done you roll 1d100s and get a maximum of 2 rerolls.

Oh and as for mechs.

I've decided that power armor comes in normal and ultra heavy varieties (pic related) You have fairly minor power armor. (some stealth systems with targetting hardware and strength enhancement tech.)

Now you could upscale your power armor tech to get guys in twelve foot tall suits of armor that are like the type 3 suit of armor on pic related or on the OP picture.

That would net you a hardy weapons platform that has some impressive mobility, and it would be relatively easy for a person to pilot compare to say, a six legged heavy mech.

But we really do need a buffer between us and the Order/Majesty, Republic would be great for that role.

As you said, we could supply them with weapons and armor (we can easily supply them with 300+ PA, for example). Although, I guess we should try to keep equilibrium between those two powers and only give heavy support if we feel that Republic is losing.

Also, anyone thinking that we should eradicate New Sparta and free the slaves? IIRC, Spartans are just one step above tribals and don't pose that much of a danger, the only advantage they have is the sheer numbers.

Some modifications are made to Goliath_1's Thunder Strike Cannon, specifically its automated loading system. Now it can load the experimental FLETCHING missiles. At the moment these are missiles that explode after reaching a certain distance and become clouds of razor sharp shrapnel, furthermore these missiles haven't even been put into mass production so your supply of them is very limited.

Future versions may include AP, Incendiary, or Guided Missiles.

You HAVE that. Its called a CIWS, its a gun with a camera and a tracking computer that you mount on a location. Its what your AA system is composed of. They can shoot down incoming missiles as easily as they can shoot down 'copters that stray too close.

Fully agree, a dedicated AA unit or a an AA variation of the MBT, we could make it a modular unit with turrets that can be switched out. That would make the mass production easier.

I say for the next turn we upscale our Power Armor to get something similiar to the OP's original pic and start work on researching more effective AA weaponry and a suitable platform of them.

You can already mass produce the things, its a resource issue. And yeah you can hybridize, but like I said, resource issue. you have more biofuel than geddonite, lots of people use biofuel so there's no reason not to have biofuel motorsat the moment.

I can't really think of any reason to have a hybrid geddonite battery since a fuel geddonite battery on an MBT would run for about 10 years without needing to be recharged (provided you weren't using gauss weapons) so it would be kinda redundant.

I've been pushing for joint development of PA but no one seems to like the idea.

It takes a Week of Effort and through the entire process R&R angel has to defend NEST_1 from the attacks of scavenger bots and the occasional roaming Satellite but the new Carrier Satellite is finally built. Only there's a lot of problems.

To survive Nest_1 needs the 2 dozen or so Fighter-Bots that she has produced, this is mostly because you ran out of solar panels and batteries halfway through her construction. To maintain R&R Angel's battlefield functionality youwere forced to keep the majority of the solar panels, but you were able to give Nest_1 the large battery you salvaged a few weeks ago.

As such Nest_1 needs to be recharged by R&R angel every now and again.

Nest_1 weighs 1 and 1/2 tons R&R angel weighs 1 and 1/4th tons.

They barely have enough land to produce enough food for themselves, you could upgrade their tech I guess but it would be more trouble than its worth trading for the BioFuel when you can proiduce the same amount of fuel for the same amount of resources.

Basically what I'm saying here is that you'd have to clear away 3 RUs worth of city ruins to get one RUs worth of Biofuel or geddonite.

Twisted Neck appears to be a very large farming community, or more accurately an Orchard Community. Trees of all kinds surround the small sleepy town. Nuts, Fruits, even Sap are collected and the town has a thriving spirits industry. Interestingly enough they also sell rubber products (made with stubstances taken from their rubber trees obviously.) They appear to provide much of the surrounding region with food.

Their architecture is simple but effective (baked clay bricks with simple mortar) and they use crude, but effective Fire Arms. Like Shmidtsburg they have their own order of protctors.l Though these appear to base themselves on PreImpact super heros or other characters from fiction and assemble their equipment accordingly.

The town's name seems to come from its habit of hanging criminals to death from gallows trees.

They don't find any subway tunnels but they do manage to find a map of the old monorail lines. It turns out that several of the lines, though not all, are in repairable condition. (Roughly 3 RU to repair 1 route) and you could easily link the DBRL, The Parish, The Tower, and an Outpost on the edge of Light City (one for each point of the compass) together by building on the old monorail lines.

I see we've now got a lot more in the way of resources a turn, so good on everyone for that and for keeping up with our caravan upgrading.

However, the bottleneck we have now seems to be power, and as such I will point out that we have not been working on OVERCHARGE in this thread as far as I can tell. We should spend one RU per turn on it at least.

Also, is there any reason why we want STARCARRIER to involve building a separate satellite and not onboard the Angel? I can see some utility during combat, if it is tactically viable, but we should probably make a coupling system so that they can stay together and share power, etc.

Hey OP, pic related is a user wearing thought control system built by Emotiv Systems, a detatchable device that lets people do things like steer cars through thinking the commands; the commands are mapped by electroencephalography by the module itself and map onto various functions. That's one of the newer generation of products.

In terms of a creed for the tribal members and scouts, I don't know that there needs to be one.

Also, not that this matters much but we're a cooperative rather than a corporation first. Corporations think about resource extraction and the bottom line, we think about the fact that third shift have been minding the reactor more than the rest and probably all have cancer now.

Long ranged combat in Near Earth Orbit is kind of a lazy affair, two satellites will trade blows, charging up their batteries and expending energy firing metallic slugs at one another. (the slugs themselves are probably made out of expendable parts of their mass) Existing in the vacuum with a constant source of power they don't have to worry about recharging as much as your troops do.

You've managed to develop a fullying functional Gauss Cannon, in roughly the size and firepower of a Recoiless Rifle (Bazooka.) Bt at the current recharge rate of its batteries it can only be fired once a week. With an external power source it can be fired once every second or so. (provided you have some ferrous slugs on hand.)

The idea with a standard Goliath is huge redundancy in a lot of areas.

If the main gun gets fouled and cannot fire missiles, I'd rather the people operating it just grab a missile off the ammo rack and stick it in the pop-up launcher than have a useless stock of gun-launched missiles sitting around.

Add to that the potential for a guy in a mech that is essentially a walking tank to warp the barrel, or for a laser to fuck it up, and a second barrel as a backup sounds pretty alright to me.

Dry River is a walled town, it is named for the simple fact that there is no water above ground for miles around, they get water by drilling into the Aquifer and using a system of hand powered pumps to send wter into a resevoir in the town, and into the fields of crops that they farm.

Like many people they use BioFuel Distilleries and use a conmbination of electric devices powered by steam engines, biofuel generators, solar panels (when such tech can be found, most communities have one or two.) Mostly though they get by on sturdy hand tools and old fashioned manual labor (aided by ponies, mules, and horses.)

They appear to have a militia modeled on legends of the old west, ponchos, dusters, and cobow hats are the order of the day when it comes to fighting bandits.

Yeah, CLEAR SKIES is a bit premature until we finish our own systems (we have a third skyscraper to retrofit) but something like it will be necessary to secure our monorail lines, etc.

One of the main issues with what will now be reffered to as Primus Building is that there was no dependable source of power for the building. However our eingineers came to a simple and obvious solution. The built several Goddonite power Generators and installed them in the Service core of the building. (One every ten or so levels) so that there would be a redundant power structure in the safest part of the building. From there it was fairly easy to stockpile ammunition and arm the building with Artillery and Anti-Air weaponry as well as facilities for garrisoned troops and surveilance equipment.

This new upgrade now adds six retractable "toes" which have some small measure of dexterity. These grant the Goliath the ability to climb out of holes and can serve as a fall back if the wheels and treads are destroyed.

Further more the original unbroken tread design has been replaced with four individual treads. Speed hasn't been sacrificed either, on a flat stretch of rode the Goliath can go from zero to 250 an hour in 30 thirty seconds.

Oh, and the old biofuel engine has been replaced with a hybrid geddonite/biofuel engine.

In retrospect, we'd be wise to wait until there is a need for superheavies. The trouble with an investment that great is that if your 2 RU superheavy gets broken, you have less options (fix it or scrap it) than with 2 MBTs (one is broken, field the other). You lose even more if it is seriously disabled, destroyed, etc.

Agreed our next focus we should be Air support/power.

In that regard i am thinking that we should upgrade AI a bit, followed by some more research in drone technology, then maybe some smaller mid-weights between a full-blown chopper like majesty got and drone such a vehicle would be piloted by only one pilot. After that develop some bombers and upgrade the Majesty Aircraft we reverse engineered.
