Seriously guys, we're getting off this damn planet tonight, come hell or high water.

TG QUEST!

When last we left off, Washu was dealt with, the Crusade was mollified, Yami was accounted for, and the current task was figuring what to do about your scheme to restore the planet using Sailor Moon's crystal.

Last thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/21568917/

Inventory: http://pastebin.com/HGsJUZZb
>>
But we're already off the planet. We're on a space ship in orbit.
>>
no thanks
>>
>>21614632
What we should do is METAL GEAR!
>>
>>21614632
You're early.

Yeah. As I recall, we were going to ask the Crusade if they had anything that could drag spirits out of the Crystal. Is that the plan still guys?

Who else do we have left to find? Are we trying to find Gondegal's essence to see IF he wants to come back / if it's even possible to bring him back? After this, I think we should leave the rest to the Crusade. We literally have so much other shit to do. We don't have the time and resources to do more than try and Deus Ex Machina this world back to order with the purified Crystal.

>>21615017
Oh you.
>>
>>21614632
Okay, we've got to try to get some of our people back.

Gondegal and the Avatar.
Vitun, cast a Miracle to see if Desna can help accelerate the Avatar's healing.

Then we get Vitun, Aeshma, Egon, Tosh, Cheryl, Okku, Elaine, the Psions, and the Guru's together and see if we can rescue Gondegal.
We have Motoko's sword in Containment so we might be able to get some trace readings on the energies used to banish Gondegal.
>>
>>21615064
Let's spend some 9th level spell slots and wake up Fujin and Seifer. We can put Fujin in one of those SUE Cure Bacta tanks and see if the shit does anything.

We've also got to do this shit to Ayane, Lulu, Rikku and whatever other corpses we grabbed.
>>
>>21615064
The Crusade said that they would lend us some exorcists for purifying the crystal.
According to the Solars, it's a dangerous operation, so we shouldn't rush into it.

We should let the Crusade's exorcists take a look at the Crystal, let them analyze it a bit, then we can start getting a better plan together.
>>
One thing we may want to do if we're going to be here is to skip forward a day so Vitun and our other spellcasters can rest. Exorcising the crystal may trigger another boss battle and honestly, our spellcasters are almost out of spells.
>>
>>21615130
if we're waiting a day, we can use the last of today's spells to start more testing into the SUE cure.
>>
>>21615107
First, we've got two other things those 9th level slots need to be used on first.
Second, the tanks aren't even done yet.
Seifer and Fuujin can wait because they're already dead. The Avatar and the quickly dispersing Gondegal can't.
>>
>>21615146
How about "Fuck No" and we use the spell slots to try to get two of our Heroes saved.
>>
>>21615149
Do you know how a bacta tank works? Or are you stupid? It's a tank, that you suspend the subject in and fill with fluid. IT'S NOT FUCKING ROCKET SCIENCE!

Second, the Avatar is fine. He's just resting. Gondegal isn't dispersing, he's gone. The sword fucking exorcised him something fierce. As in "Poof! Now you're at rest."

>>21615172
I'm just going to assume you're a fucking idiot and leave it at that.
>>
>>21615130
We may need the day simply to have our specialists come up with a way of communicating with the souls in the crystal and getting them to turn over Tranquility.
Fortunately the Crusade sent over exorcists to help us with whatever ritual will be needed to purify the Crystal.

Also we need that time for the planetary scan for Juraian DNA to finish.

Vitun casts a Miracle, praying for Desna's intervention.

Your crew tries desperately to get a hold on Gondegal, but it's no use. The ghost is gone.

>>21615110
It's worth noting that you don't even have the crystal yet.
>>
One thing we will need to do is have Vitun talk to the Solars about how long they're willing to stay. Depending on what they want for payment, they could help us True Rez the next day. Each one can cast four Lvl 9 spells but don't have it memorized by default.
>>

>>21615289
Desna is a little tired of your over-reliance on her. You're going to have to do better than diamonds to curry her favor from now on.
>>
>>21615289
>don't have the crystal
What? We got it at the end of the fight in Rome. Cheryl even picked it up and it was being put in Containment.

Also, are any of the bacta tanks we have modified to work with the SUE-Cure, and do we have enough to begin treatment?
>>
>>21615307
Desna will now take items of power instead of diamonds for resurrections. She may ask for a specific boon or task instead, depending on who is to be returned.
>>
>>21615323
Whoops! Yeah, you're right. I'd forgotten about that part.

You can manage to fill one tank with the SUE Cure.
>>
>>21615354
Well, we did have a plan to stop by a 3.5 or Pathfinder world soon.

Does she have a quest in mind, or will she think of one later?
>>
>>21615307
>other than diamonds
Is she going to want gold-plated latinum or dilithium crystals next?

Well, I suppose she just found out about the Diamond Monopolies and why they were overvalued. I hope she likes the dress we ordered for her at least.
>>
>>21615392
She will send a vision to Vitun detailing the service she will need of specific members of your forces.
>>
Where are our looter teams.

We need to loot the DeBeers vaults and other places of their holdings/diamonds.

She still is accepting them for resurrections, right?
>>
>>21615354
What is it going to cost to Resurrect White Mage Squad B?

And how long were you waiting for us to try a Miracle or True Resurrection so you could spring this on us?
>>
>>21615354
What? That's not how it works. If it was, we'd have no adventuring parties getting true rez'd every 15 minutes.

The diamonds are a material component that are used as a focus for the spell. They aren't Poof'd to Desna, they are literally destroyed by the magical energies released in the casting. She doesn't actually intervene in the casting of a spell aside from Miracle, and even then there are a few things that are auto-done unless it's shit that goes against her alignment.
>>
Last we left the Crusade, they were expressing confusion at the Transpace Guard method of 'preserve the canon, remove reality distortions'.
Should we tell them that we recently discovered that many of the reports that formed the basis of this doctrine appear to have been forged by nefarious elements within central command?
I don't really see any reason to keep it secret, aside from it kind of making us look stupid.
But I'm pretty sure we conveyed that relatively speaking, this Task Force barely graduated out of rookie-dom?
>>
>>21615460
High Level Divine spells are given by the gods directly. In the case of True Resurrection, the diamonds are used to have the god grab the soul from the world it was sent to and bring it back without damage.

If she wants a different focus, that's her choice. Remember. Clerics have one nasty weakness. ALL OF THEIR POWER COMES FROM THEIR GOD.
>>
>>21615460
Bro, Desna says no diamonds for Miracles, then no diamonds for Miracles. (Besides, DM call.) She kinda gets to make the rules for what she wants in exchange for certain things. Deific privilege.

No one said anything about no diamonds for True Rez. The spells are totally different. Chill.

But yeah. Let's move on to other things.
>>
>>21615374
Okay, so, who should we test our new SUE-Cure Bacta Tank on? Also, should we revive them before or after putting them in there? If the former, we're going to need heavy duty constraints and/or sedatives for probably any of them.
>>
>>21615537
Whoops, used the wrong name. Sorry about that.
>>
>>21615537

Not if we raise Fuujin. She was able to control herself rather well and if we tell her we'll bring back Seifer too.

I think bringing Seifer back first would result in him killing himself by attacking us again. He might relent if he sees a cured Fuujin.
>>
>>21615289
I think we're going to have to give up on Gondegal. Let's leave him at peace. Maybe we should just send him a message somehow, saying that the mission was a success, and we thank him for all the time he spent helping us.
>>
>>21615581
Sounds like a plan, but we don't know how well this is going to work. Maybe we should try it out on somebody else first? Just in case.
>>
>>21615590
Yeah that sounds good.
He wasn't obliterated, but merely sent to the underworld, and I'd say he's virtuous enough to have secured a good place for himself.
So give him a hearty thank you and wish him a happy eternity.
>>
Just so for the others to know, our irc is #tgquest at rizon.net .
>>
>>21615442
Build a church to Desna near the spot where they fell. One of the White Mages must stay behind as its caretaker/preacher for five years.

>>21615526
Actually I did say resurrections. I was under the impression that the diamonds were an offering, and can find no contradicting statement in the spell description. If the diamonds are clearly stated as a focus and not an offering... then you're going to have to use the diamonds in addition to the offering.
>>
>>21615698
You still haven't answered how long you were waiting for the inevitable low roll to screw us when it came to using a Miracle or True Resurrection.
>>
>>21615698

Uh... wouldn't that breach TG policy to do such a thing? I mean, there's a high chance that the White Mage can work as a TG operative in that canon as an operative and get dismissed as a crazy person hawking a similarly crazy religion, but that might not fly with certain people.
>>
>>21615698
That's not how D&D magic works though.
>>
>>21615698
Well, it seems fair, but there is the issue of the White Mages themselves. They might not want to stay behind.

>>21615797
God says rules for Divine Magic changes. She gives us the Divine magic, we have no choice.
>>
>>21615514
Actually that's not true. You can be cleric of a cause, in which case the spells are still given and you can still true resurrect with no additional offering given to any deity who intervenes.
>>
>>21615828
Yes, but ours is of a specific god. Not a concept, and unless Vitun wants to abandon his faith, it's not going to change.
>>
>>21615824
Except that's stupid and throws everything out of whack. If shit randomly starts changing, what's the point of having shit from various canons? I mean, why not start changing how Super Star Destroyers work. Maybe they're powered by Love Fluff and Farts now, so too bad, your current engine is useless.

We can have the Starfleet Ships powered by four dudes blowing into a tube!
>>
>>21615698

Oh... Oh dear.

Other more knowledgable tg brethren, are there any other spells from other canons we can use?

Or can we find a different canon's desna?
>>
>>21615794
Given how messed up this place is already, it's a bit of a gray area.
>>
>>21615853
Actually, according to Spelljammer lore, spells are given by the deity with the closest portfolio to the one you worship if the one you worship doesn't exist there/outside the sphere. They also ask for no additional offerings.

Suddenly asking one of her most devout followers for MORE is not the action of a Good or even a Neutral Deity. She is not the Goddess of Greed and Consumption, that would be Tiamat's portfolio.
>>
>>21615908
And considering the Diamonds are supposed to be worth 25,000 gold, and the average value of a gold coin is 2500 dollars.

Well. Do the math.
>>
>>21615931
All deities require that though. That is the basic material focus for the True Resurrection Spell. A diamond or diamonds worth 25,000 Gold. And it depends on the world you're on, if it's a world high in gold but low in say iron, suddenly Iron is worth 2500 dollars.
>>
>>21615908
You say devout, but what has Vitun done lately? Has he preached the word of Desna, or done something in her favor? Or has he constantly had running laps between the underworld and the materium, pulling miracles and rezzes left and right? Just saying, gods have needs too.
>>
>>21615892

Hypothetically speaking....

Would it help to mention that we're fighting against threats that can overpower or corrupt gods if the conditions are right, and that by doing this she is hampering one of this sector's best hopes of recovering? And given SHODAN's ambitions, that could literally shake or rewrite the whole of reality?

I can understand why she's upping the ante on resurrections, since you don't want miracles and resurrections to become commonplace and thus not become miraculous at all. But putting restrictions on this type of action may have some blowback.
>>
>>21615698
>building a church
I don't see any way around this.
I suggest we contact the Crusade and get their okay to build a church there in Tokyo. I don't see them complaining much, and we really need those White Mages.

Ask Lazarus if he can add some nanites from the Reconstruction Tanks to the SUE-Cure Bacta Tank to allow the bacta to also reboot a person's brain. Bacta itself can't but the nanites of the Reconstruction Tanks can.

Since we can't use magic to bring the infected back, we'll need to use our science and technology.
>>
>>21615698
>>21615892
>>21615931
>>21615970

Whichever the case, we should see if the Crusade is OK with us doing such an action. And also seeing which of the White Mages would be OK with being a preacher of Desna for five years. And seeing if we can negotiate the terms of preaching to ensure that the White Mage won't be labeled as a benevolent but kinda crazy cultist by the local populace.
>>
>>21616077
>benevolent but kinda crazy cultist by the local populace.
Actually, since the church would be built in Tokyo, and Japan apparently hasn't changed culturally much (besides Chaosbringer's influence), if the culture is restored, then the White Mage will actually fit right in.
I mean, she could just dress up as a miko priestess, have a Universal Translator implant to speak Japanese, the church is designed with a Shinto aesthetic, and she could get herself registered with the National Shinto Shrine Registry and no one would even blink.
>>
>>21616112

We may also need to see if the local deities would be alright with a shrine of a rival and very foreign goddess being built right under their noses. The more practical or level-headed ones would probably let it slide, but since there may be Roman/Greek gods that exist locally in this canon, that's not necessarily a guarantee here. The White Mage's tenure will likely begin after everything in this sector is settled and safe, but I don't want to send him or her to a five-year job where he or she will have to watch his/her back for backlash from local spirits or gods.
>>
In regards to reviving our troops, I need to bring this up:
All of White Mage Squad B was injected with RED-2-GENERIC. Their minds should be backed up and they can either wait a few hours for the nanites to resuscitate them, or they can have a dip in the Reconstruction Tanks to be revived in an hour, or the Magic Cryokit that Lazarus has.

The same is true of the Abjurers, Psions, and Aurors.

As for the other troops, they were all equipped with EBO Cortical Stacks, and they can be revived and repaired in a Reconstruction Tank in anywhere from 1 to 3 hours, or the Magic Cryokit in 2 hours.
>>
>>21616252
I think the Japanese Pantheon would be okay with it, really. Chaosbringer was a Greek god stomping all over their turf, and made worship of Gaea a state religion, effectively stamping out Shinto.
I think it'll be more like "You're part of the group that kicked that little shit's ass? Welcome to the Pantheon!"
>>
>>21616258

White Mage squad B's remains were obliterated during one of Ultimecia's attacks. That's why we're doing this resurrection business. I'm not sure if they had EBO Cortical Stacks "equipped", however.
>>
>>21616037
You're asking if the goddess of luck wants to take a chance?

>>21615908
That's odd, I recall reading a Krynn supplement saying that clerics of other gods there were SOL because the pantheon wasn't going to do squat for them until they converted.

>>21615828
This actually is evidence of diamonds of spell focus rather than offering, and a good point.

>>21616037
Another good point.

Since there have been some good points made and I'd prefer not to get bogged down in this sort of thing, I'll rescind the offering change for True Resurrection. Desna still wants a chuch built, but the White Mage doesn't have to staff it. Someone pointed out it was odd for a travel goddess to make someone stay in one spot.
>>
>>21616315
We'll build the church. We'll also do her quests when we get to her native canon.

Oh, and give her the dress we bought her. Oh. I hope it fits!
>>

>>21616315

Well, we CAN leave a programmed medical hologram there able to respond to people queries.

That way she might at least get a few more devotees and the medical hologram can treat 'travellers'. I say that'll sit well with her.
>>
>>21616315
Build an Observatory in Japan!? That's impossib...Okay, yeah we can do that. To Japan's Observatory Mountain!
>>
>>21616315
Alright, so, what's the reason that we can't wait for the RED-2 to work on White Mage Squad B?
>>
>>21616395
because they're dust? At least, most of them are.
>>
>>21616315

Alrighty.

D&D deities *DO* get power from worship. Desna probably just didn't want to get taken for granted. Perhaps Vitun can go see if there are crew members who wouldn't be averse to taking up the religion of a deity that has literally saved their lives and/or brought them back to life. Space Marines/Imperium of Man members excepted, of course.
>>
>>21616424
I just want confirmation from the OP first.
>>
>>21616366
That works.

Moving onto other matters, the Crusade doesn't have a problem with you guys building a Church to Desna here, and are you going to let their Exorcists have a look at the Crystal?

The Juraian DNA scan locates a large number of Ryoko's offsping slain around a palace in the mountains of Japan. Ryoko is among them.
>>
>>21616433
And convert that floor of the AUH to worship of her. Holographic butterflies everywhere!
>>
>>21616448

I am going to tentatively and cautiously and guardedly agree to the Crusade's paranormal experts taking a look at the crystal. Also for recovering the remains of Ryoko and performing scans on the palace to see what she was guarding.
>>
>>21616448
Tenchi must have gotten to them. Is there any unusual energy in that area of Japan?

And yeah, I don't mind Vitun preaching. Hell, we all appreciate Desna ALOT. Hell, I pray to her every thread for not-shit rolls.
>>
>>21616440
They're dust. If the bodies were intact, we'd dunk 'em in the tanks and not be having this whole argument.

>>21616433
That might help.

'Course if you guys keep spamming True Res, Pharasma might get peeved...
>>
>>21616448
>Ryoko and her kids
Get them. All of them. Throw them into any nannybags and stasis pods we have open.

Have Lazarus examine them to see if any of them are recoverable via our advanced technology.

Put them into Reconstruction Tanks if we need the space.
The RED-2 on the Spellcasters should revive them in an hour, and then they'll just need another injection.

>exorcists
Yes, allow the Crusade's specialists to examine the Crystal.
Also have Vitun and Aeshma examine it alongside them.

The Crusade reports back that its Exorcists have managed to prepare a ritual that would allow six people to enter the crystal and confront Tranquility, and also significantly empower them. They have also included in the ritual a way to harness the Crystal's power once purified to restore this world to its former glory. They propose that three of their most skilled Exorcists enter the Crystal alongside whoever three you choose.
>>
>>21616680
Can we at least wait till the next day to cleanse the crystal. Our guys are tired and need to get their spells back.

I'd guess Cheryl, Vitun, and Avatar if he's recuperated. Otherwise Darius.
>>
>>21616680

I forget; is Tranquility one of those abhorrent SUE-creations, or is it a supernatural entity/deity that was corrupted or otherwise subverted to do bad stuff?

In either case, let's ask the Crusade what their Exorcists can offer. We want to pick heroes that would complement their strengths and/or cover any weaknesses they may have. They don't need to mention anything explicitly confidential, but a summary would be nice.
>>
>>21616680
I suggest Cheryl, Vitun, and Okku. But tomorrow, since they need the rest.

In addition to what's happening in Medical and Containment:

Mustadio, Guru's, and Techno-Wizards, begin work on the new set of magitek guns (Project 0 of the Current Engineering Projects Queue, To-Do List).

Data, begin work on the ART Specs, and the Borg-derived Nanite Assimilation Network Tap.

Hercules, land in Carlin, Nevada for resourcing operations and to mine for natural gold to be paid to Syphie when we next meet her.

Have our Hiigaran Decoy Fleet rendezvous with the rest of the task force.

Have the Spirit continue sending resources back to the task force to supply our repairs.

Engineering Team, begin repairing and replacing all of the equipment lost by the Breakout Team during Operation Jailbreak.

Finally, can Dr. Cossack examine Washu's Lab and see if we can take it with us? If it can be repaired and made usable.
>>
>>21616764
SUE-creation. She's the one that convinced a majority of the former Queens inhabiting the Millennium Crystal to go along with Chaosbringer's plot.

>>21616582
Let's get them appropriately preserved or revived, as we can. Make sure to keep them unconscious until we can have the Aurors and Tosh get rid of their brainwashing and give them personalities that aren't slaves to Ryoko, Washu, and Chaosbringer.
>>
>>21616680
>>21616582
Oh, right, have Vitun and Aeshma cast Gentle Repose on as many of the dead as they can, which should be 12. That should help make it easier to revive them later, if we can't get to them right now.
>>
>>21616917
Vitun can cast 7. Aeshma 5, and each Abjurer except Otikas can cast 5 each.
>>
>>21616965
Ah, but the Abjurers aren't up and about yet, are they?
And we need to get as many Gentle Reposed so that they can be later revived either via technology or magic, before information death sets in.
>>
MetaOP, quick question:
Does RED-2 get rid of the timer limit that Final Fantasy Tactics Raises have? Since the user will revive on their own given a few hours?

Also, does Gentle Repose do the same, get rid of the timer limit?
>>
>>21616758
The next day is fine.

>>21616764
The Crusade's Exorcists are magic users that specialize in warding and fighting spirits. As such, they have a variety of spells that target incorporeal beings and undead.

Have them get down to Medical and assist Lazarus with raising the spellcasters to open up Reconstruction Tanks, the Magic Cryokit, and nannybags for people that need them.

>>21617078
>Washu's Lab is a total loss
Goddammit Mihoshi.

>rescuing Ryoko's kids will take time.
Have Lazarus do it, have him delegate to the Chief Medical Officers on the ships of the task force and to the Emergency Medical Holograms. I want to try to save as many as we can.
Oh, and Ryoko needs to be put in stasis and Containment, since she needs to be cured.
>>
>>21617142
Speaking of cured, let's get Fujin into a reconstruction tank, get her fixed up but have it keep her unconcious. Then we'll move her into the SUE Cure bacta tank or something.
>>
>>21617078
>>21617142
In addition, have Lazarus take Fujin out of Containment, and put her in a Reconstruction Tank. Lazarus is to program the tank to ONLY repair the absolutely fatal injuries, reboot her brain, and keep her in a chemically induced coma.

Once she's breathing on her own again, transfer her to the SUE-Cure Bacta Tank to see if it has any effect.
Make sure that the full SCP Team is there, with Reality Disruptor Rifles.
>>
>>21616777
With the decoy fleet with didnt have enough people to run it.

>>21617176

You transfer Fujin to a tank under sedation.

>>21617142
You fill the open reconstruction tanks with Ryoko's kids. You have no more open tanks.

A day passes. You complete resource gathering operations for Sylph and begin harvesting more diamonds for spell foci. At this time, the Crusade scouts have withdrawn, and your ghost army roams ruined cities and military bases. The remaining remnants of Chaosbringer's brainwashed masses have fled to a handful of heavily fortified cities.

>>
>>21617528
I suppose we should get on finding the crystal then? Or do we already have it?
>>
>>21617554
Damnit, I missed a lot. Curse my need to eat and my actual enjoyment of shared meals! Haha, but I kid. So, we recovered Ryoko's kids and the demon herself, have begun reviving and curing Fujin, started gathering resources to pay Sylph and to use in True Resurrections, and are considering filling our decoy fleet with Mega Man-canon robots....sound about right?
>>
>>21617728
We already have it. We got it just after killing Chaosbringer's physical form.
>>
>>21617554
Have the SUE-Cure administered to Fujin.

As for the Crystal, my choices are Cheryl (for pure power), Vitun (for divine magic and finesse), and Okku. They'll enter the Crystal with the three exorcists and try to contact Queens that didn't agree with Tranquility and oust her.

Cheryl, Vitun, and Okku meet three older men in many pocketed white robes on a deserted stretch of badlands. Each wears a sash festooned with many wands, amulets, and magical trinkets. On the ground before them is the crystal, inside an extremely complex series of drawn runes, mandalas, and magical patterns. Several focusing rods are thrust into the soil around the ritual circle. The leader of the three steps forward.

"I am Senior Exorcist Mave Steward. I wish our meeting could've been under better circumstances. Are you prepared?" the leader asks. Cheryl nods.

"Anything to put this planet behind me," she says.

"When you are ready, we can begin," Vitun gravely says. Okku merely growls his assent.

In a few moments the six take their positions around the crystal and begin a long, laborious chant. Cheryl boosting the magical powers of all present...
>>
>>21617897
We should totally record that ritual circle and give it to the TSAB as a "Thanks for keeping New Chaos and the Void Engineers busy for us" gift.

The six plummet into a formless, prismatic expanse, the ritual energy traveling with them and lashing out into the depths of that colorful abyss. A pain-filled shriek rends the air as the lasso of magical energy pulls back a graceful, elegant woman with platinum hair in a diaphanous white dress with many jewels. Before she even has a chance to speak, the Exorcists chant in unison, unleashing three walls of blue-white fire that move over the former Queen, burning her badly. Cheryl follows up with her own attack, balling her fists and glaring at the woman as the fabric of reality rips and tears around her, a Focused Blowout. The attack rends the very soul of the ghost, not to mention its incorporeal form. Limbs are broken and bent as Tranquility grits her teeth and wills them back into place, rapidly healing herself.

Okku doesn't give her a chance to complete, bounding over to her and sinking his teeth into her neck. The healing ceases as Tranquility sputters and gasps.

The Exorcists don't give her time to recover, summoning focused beams of the fire this time, directing them at the fallen Queen. As the beams begin to burn her away, her form flickers and begins to fade. Okku continues to maul and claw her as Cheryl shakes her head.

"Say goodnight, you crazy bitch," she murmurs, summoning one last blast of primal energy that is enough to tear the foe apart.

The formless expanse begins to shimmer silver.

"The ritual is acting to purify the crystal," one of the Exorcists explains. "This would be the time to leave. We do not belong here, and our presence may upset the restoration process. Everyone join hands, we must leave as we came."

Vitun nods, extending his hand. "Come friends, let us leave this place."

"Good riddance," Cheryl says, taking Vitun's hand and laying her own on Okku's furry neck.

"She tasted terrible," Okku complains as the Exorcists complete the circle.

A minute later, Okku, Cheryl, and Vitun tumble onto the bridge of the All Under Heaven. The planet beneath the ship begins to shine brilliantly as a sparkling silver crystal appears in front of the Command Crew, projecting the ghostly image of a crowd of women. A conference of Moon-Queens.

SCP Squad gets the bodies of the Senshi brought to the Queens.
A comm officer opens a channel to the Great Crusade and tell Admiral Veleth what's going on.

The bodies are brought forward and the ghostly queen smiles. The bodies vanish and the planet below seems to shine brighter.

"Admiral Veleth is on comms sir," one of your officers states. "Putting him onscreen now."

Fair enough, but be have one in the middle of testing. We have a compound that we hope will remove the taint of the SUE, but we're not quite sure. We're soaking the body in it.

"Yes.
"If you wish, we could discuss trading certain specifications and technologies."

I'm willing to give away the SUE-Cure, and trade the Aglaophotis research.

Also, we need to call up the TSAB. Should we do it now, or after we leave this Canon? The Crusade might be able to trace the call to the TSAB base.

>>
>>21618658
>>21618657
>>21618648
"Thank you," the Admiral says as his techs confirm the transmission. "How long did you want to keep the lieutenants for testing, and what left is there for you to do here?"

>how long to keep the lieutenants
"Quite possibly a week, at minimum, to treat all of them. As for us to do here, we owe a goddess a favor, so we need to build a church. Should be done very quickly."

Since Yami wants to leave, I think we should let him leave to the Crusade now.

While we discuss with the Admiral on what to trade, and what's going to happen to the SUE-Corrupted in our custody, let's get some stuff done.

MetaOP, can we please get started on the following, once the restoration is completed:

A 24-Hologram strong crew of Emergency Hologram Engineers and Vitun to beam down to Tokyo and build that church for Desna. Preferable if they can make it look like a Shinto shrine to not stand out. To be staffed by an Emergency Medical Hologram programmed with the scriptures of Desna and her teachings. Replicate a suitcase full of platinum bars as seed money for the EMH/Priest.
Dedicate Al'Kesh 1 and the Industrial Replicator aboard the Relentless for this task.

Dr. Cossack, can you see if Washu's Lab can be taken with us in any way. It was capable of Meta-Transit, it should be possible.

Dr. Mordin, please keep an eye on the progress of the SUE-Cure on Fujin, to allow Dr. Lazarus to analyze Ryoko's progeny.
Dr. Lazarus, we need to find a way to reprogram them, rewrite their memories and personalities. I know what the Magic Cryokit, and you, are capable of. I trust the task is within your capabilities.

And the other projects from >>21616777

Also, I think now would be a good time to send the Looter Team out, and tell them to rendezvous with us back at Sector HQ. We'll send HQ our location if we're not done somewhere.
I think we should first send them to Star Wars to pick up the items on our To-Do List.
http://pastebin.com/7hTAHGyg
>>
>>21618816
Currently, we're doing minor repairs to our ships, and resurrecting our allies.

We're also building a small church/observatory for our favorite goddess.
>>
>>21618841
Looters to get: get another HK-50. While in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, see if we can pick up some thermal detonators, repulsors (as spare parts for the TIE Defenders), Kolto medpacks, bacta replacements, agricultural droids (for maintaining the hydroponic labs), electrostaffs (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Electrostaff), and some lightsabers (as trade goods).

Engineering Team should have finished replacing all the equipment of the Breakout Team.

So now, they can work on repairing MechaGodzilla, which has major damage.
>>
>>21618841
Sounds good. But maybe we should have the Hiigaran fleet continue to harvest materials/repair the fleet while we're here? I mean, we do have more than a few damage ships. Also, did we ever give that glorious X-COM trooper a name and abilities?

And to be perfectly clear, we're only staying here until the end of Day 23, since we need to finish making the Church/Observatory for Desna in exchange for reviving White Mage Squad B.
>>
>>21618996
Actually, if we leave the holograms here to build the church, and just have Vitun consecrate the ground and altar now, we can probably leave within the day.

I don't want to waste any more time than necessary here.
>>
>>21618996
What? No way, we need to stay long enough to cure the smorgasbord of dead characters we've got in containment. Then we need to hand them over to the Crusade. Or talk the Crusade into simply reviving them so they can begin to restore their world and their own sanity.

"I cannot let you leave so long as you have them. You can keep them so long as you stay here, but when you leave, you have to hand them over," the Admiral stands, folding his hands behind his back. "I appreciate your cooperation a great deal, make no mistake. But given the relations between our two organizations, I cannot be more lenient on this."

Yami transits over to the Crusade Fleet, and then begin the process of ferrying him home.

When Dr. Cossack attempts to test the stability of Washu's lab, its subspace field collapses, annihilating everything left within and not even leaving the demiplane itself behind.

Rome wasn't built in a day, but due to the swift work of the Holograms, this Church to Desna was.

1st) Good. Hope he makes it alright.

>>21619129
Diana indeed wishes to return home and spend at least a few months making sure everything of the old regime is well and truly gone.

Previously...

After Cheryl and the others had left the bridge after the Queen showdown, she stopped suddenly in one of the access halls.

"Weird. Pocket feels heavy. I don't remember..." Cheryl says, fishing around in her vest and withdrawing a pink wand. Her face turns into a horrified grimace. "...oh no..."

"I would like to point out that Seifer Almasy was forced to join Chaosbringer's organization under duress, and that there were clear signs of mental control when we encountered him."

"Gah!" Cheryl shouts, nearly dropping the wand and turning around. "Where the hell did you come from?! You better not tell anyone about this..." Cheryl stuffs the wand back in her pocket. "As far as anyone knows, that reward got lost in the ephemeral mail or something."

Fujin's body is alive and restored, but sedated.

Diana pauses.

"I might, if the need is great enough. But I worry for my own home given how swiftly it fell."

Revive Seifer and reunite these two.

When the brilliant light from the planet dims, the planet is restored to its pre-invasion state. The vast majority of the ghosts have been reincarnated into new bodies, and the events of the past now only seem like what was surely nothing more than a terrible nightmare.
>>
>>21619603
Storm and Spider-Woman. They're alive.
>>
>>21619605
Well, that settles that then.
>>
>>21619564

We should talk directly to Tsunami and determine what exactly she can or will do for us. I don't want to seem ungrateful or nitpicky, but knowing what she can safely bestow upon us would help in determining in what could help us and/or this canon the most.
>>
>>21619615
Scry for them.

Also, have Tosh contact the underworld with his ability to talk to Spirits. I want to see if Gondegal is down there.
>>
>>21619591
"Well, Mr. Almasy, we are people of our word. Now, the Great Crusade still is determined to put you and Fujin on trial, but we are confident that you both will be acquitted of all charges. If you will come this way, please. Miss Fujin, we have replacement clothes over here, and a changing room when you are ready."

Better get them over to the Crusade.

>>21619605
Alright, let's see if Tosh and the Farseers, maybe with help from Cheryl, can contact Gondegal. I want to know if he's been destroyed, or if he's at rest.

>>21619615
They'll probably be needed to help defend this world from Meta-Threats. Let's leave them be here, to work with Wonder Woman.
>>
In determining how to use Tsunami's Boon, can we please have Tosh talk to the spirits and ask if Gondegal has passed into the Underworld, or is he destroyed?
>>
>>21619639
Leaving those heroes here seems like a good idea. I would have loved to recruit Diana, but she's probably one of the heaviest hitters this world has now.
>>
>>21619564

Possible Boons:

Speed our research teams and/or improve their rate of researching. Or possibly alter the time dilation on our Elysium research zone to expand even further, allowing for relatively faster research.

Get Yellowman in this canon and stabilize/disable his scoutship's meta-transit drive so that he won't warp out randomly anymore, and also preserve the data storage on his vessel so that we can directly get evidence of SHODAN's takeover of Black Ops.
>>
>>21619682
Or we could use it to upgrade Gurthang another step.

Gurthang: Time Cleaver and other stuff.
>>
>>21619682
We've already got Sylphie looking for him, though.

Improving the rate of research would be nice.

>>21619701
Gurthang the Time Cleaver, Blessed by 4 Goddesses, crafted by the Noldor of the First Age, reforged in Nargothrond, reforged again by the Three Gurus of the Kingdom of Zeal.
>>
>>21619639
It takes some effort, but you find out where Gondegal's spirit is.

Gondegal's spirit's was taken by Desna on his defeat, and conveyed to the Upper Planes, where he will rest free of worldly cares until he wishes to move on yet again.
>>
>>21619755
Okay, so he's taking a vacation. He's earned it. Not going to complain.

SO!
Let's talk about other boons!
Upgrade to Elysium?
Or make Gurthang pimpin'?
>>
>>21619755
Very well. Gondegal, you've earned your rest a dozen times over. Have a nice afterlife.
>>
>>21619775
I'm thinking Elysium. We need to get some Research done and Gurthang's already pretty strong.
>>
>>21619755
Okay, so, I guess Cheryl contacts Tsunami? Asks what the limitations of the boon are?
>>
>>21619792

On the other hand, getting Yellowman safely aboard our ship with the evidence of SHODAN taking over Black Ops might help in other ways. It would convince the Crusade that the TG is not bad as a whole, and that this whole crisis was just caused by a bunch of assholes. It would also alert other meta-factions of what Black Ops' ultimate goal is; the Crusade and/or other meta-factions who are friendly to us may lend us aid or intelligence on how to best deal with SHODAN.
>>
>>21619831

This needs to be done above all else. Perhaps we can also ask Tsunami if she knows if the Avatar is OK or not.
>>
Yellowman is off the table for now.

<MetaMan> If you do that
<MetaMan> The next thread's title will be
<MetaMan> TG Quest 114: Sequence Breaking
<Codeki-> So, bad idea then?
<Greyheart> That...doesn't sound good.
<MetaMan> I honestly have no idea
<MetaMan> I just know it will essentially murderize my plans for Yellowman Quest
<Greyheart> Oh my. Can't have that.
>>
>>21619840
>Avatar is OK or not.
Right, because Okku and Cheryl were unsure.

While we argue over the boon from Tsunami, I'd also like to send out our Looter Team to Star Wars.
List of stuff to get is here:>>21618898
>>
>>21619863
Sounds good. Maybe see if they can even recruit somebody?
>>
>>21619863
Oh, that's right!

>>
>>21619916
I believe so.
>>
>>21619927
Other than the boon, is there anything else you have to do here? Are you transiting back to the world you gave the Protoss or the Vault in the Shadowrun world?

Captcha: whydoit lous

Fuck you Captcha, I ain't no louse.
>>
>>21619960
Has Seifer been looked over by the Crusade yet? If so, what have they determined? Make sure to send Diana back down to a location of her choice, and ask Yuna if she'd rather stay here or come with us.
>>
>>21619927
Then all the Looter Team needs to do (they should have an Al'Kesh with them to aid in their *acquisitions*) is get an HK-50 chassis.

>>21619960

>>21619960

Might want to run some psionic scans on Mitsune and Kanako to see if there was any funny business going on in their heads before they agreed to help Chaosbringer ravage their world. If the Shadowrun base or the base in the Vaderverse has any spare psychiatric staff, such a diagnosis could help speed things along.

Is there anything we want to ask/say to the Great Crusade before we move on?
>>
>>21619960
Transiting back to the Protoss Colony/Sector HQ.
>>
>>21619976
Seifer's been looked over by the Crusade. They've determined that while he did effectively make a deal with Chaosbringer and serve him, it was under severe coercion. They're currently deciding whether to essentially let him go free or charge him with a penitent task. He and Fujin are in no danger of being imprisoned or executed at this stage.

>>21619982
OK, and the destination?
>>
>>21619976

>Great Crusade

Ask Veleth if the Great Crusade is intending to render aid to the neighboring realities. If so,

>Sonya

Ask Sonya if she'd prefer to come with us, or stay with the Great Crusade to help repair her world.

Do we want to try to reconcile our concept of reality with the Crusade, or do we have other business to attend to?
>>
>>21620040
>Destination
Looter Team Destination: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2.
They're in a war, items we want should be easy to come by.
Take an Al'Kesh, and an Emergency Security Hologram, just in case.
>>
>>21620040
If he requires a penitent task, why not have them come with us? What better quest to redeem himself than one where he can destroy things like the evil he served?

My vote for Tsunami's boon is the time upgrade for Elysium, or if she can't do that then let her decide.

I'm off to bed. See you guys next thread.
>>
I'm also voting for an increase in the time differential in Elysium for Tsunami's boon.
If that's too much though, powering up Gurthang would be nice.
>>
Looks like I slept through this one.

I hope everything went okay. :)
>>
>>21620070
Actually, they should take an Emergency Engineering Hologram as well in case they need to do repairs.
>>
>>21620042
Sonya doesn't have a problem remaining with you for a while, but at some point she'd like to go home. Still, not a lot left for her there, and she IS an adventurer.

The Great Crusade is in the process of rendering aid to all the realities affected by Chaosbringer, yes.

>>21620032
Admiral Veleth, with some hesitation, gives you a coded frequency as you transfer the bodies of the slain Chaos lieutenants to him.

"Either of us may find contacting the other useful in the future," he states. "This is a secure line to my flagship only a few parties know how to access. I assume your ship is capable of transdimensional communication? Good. Then farewell, and good luck."

The Hiigaaran Fleet rejoins with yours a few minutes later, and you make the transpace jump, emerging back into reality over the Earth housing the Vault.

"I was barely involved in that mound of crap, and I STILL want a vacation," Spike comments as he looks out an observation port at the planet below. "It's nice to be in orbit over a planet with SOME sanity left to it."

>You can assume the boon was decided on before you left.
>>
>>21620118
When she returns to grant you the boon, Tsunami states that she can increase the time differential from x4 to x5, or grant Gurthang an ability to manipulate waves. She does not get more specific.
>>
>>21620184
Okay.

Inform Ferricelli of the Vault that we're here, and that we've got some news. Open up a secure, encrypted channel and give him a mission recorder dump, and a summary of the Great Crusade.

Also, open up a Meta-Comm channel to our friendly neighborhood TSAB outpost. Request a secure, encrypted channel.
>>
>>21620209

Prepare to transmit to them:
All of our SUE-Cure research, all of our Aglaophotis research, and the information we've collected about the Great Crusade (but not the Admiral's Meta-Comm frequency; that's something he only shared with us).
>>
Right. So the Crusade will handle cleanup. Finding reality distortions, restoring people to their usual spots and all that.
I'd say everything managed to work out well.

So we came out of that mess +Yuna, +Sonya, +Research, +Mitsune, +Kanako, -Gondegal, -Avatar.

Our options now include:
>Nu Chaos homeworld
>Other lynchpin
>Void engineers vs. Nu Chaos ship battlefield

What's in the other lynchpin? I'm guessing it's World of Darkness, but assumptions are the mother of all fuckups.
We're also yet to encounter My Immortal in this quest, and if you're on a SUE slaughter without finding that, then you've skipped something.

>>21620238
That's a reasonable thing to do.

>>21622871
Sorry, I saw the question but forgot to reply. Seifer and Fujin consider the offer, but in the end it still depends on what the Crusade decides. Passing on the suggestion to the Crusade nets you the following: "An interesting proposal. We will consider it."
>>
>>21624331
So Seifer and Fujin's cases are still being processed by the Crusade?

Oh, and the Crusade would have asked for Seifer and Fujin regardless of them just being guards for the Floating Palace, correct? Seeing as they are Meta-Contaminants to this world and all.

Thank you. Let's get items on our To-Do List checked off.

Also, what happened to the other prisoners we rescued from the Floating Palace?

Has the Looter Team left yet? We might have some changes to their list of items to acquire and where to go.

Also, can we get some workers from the crews of the ships in our task force to assist in the construction of a hydroponics lab in Elysium during this down-time?
>>
>>21629043
Excellent. This will help get our research and repairs going even faster.

>>
>>21629092
The other prisoners would be requested they be sent topside when the restoration is complete. With the world normal again, they can go back to their old lives.

You can make last minute changes to the Looter Team if you like.

You can, but it'll be slow going.
>>
>>21629043
Sweet. Right, everything seems well in hand.
What's our choices for where to go next?
>>
>>21629163

Pity we didn't recruit an army of 2bil ghost but I think that would have been too game breaking, even for MetaOP.
>>
>>21629175
What's their current mission? A trip to Star Wars to pick up some stuff, right?
If they can get the schematics for the mind-shielding helms we should be able to make more of them. Don't know how hard that would be to get though.

Who should the looters take with them? The Al'Kesh is good for stealing, but perhaps they should take a bullshit artist + ground searcher to assist. Spike would do well in both roles. Has his "Not die" talent too in case of low rolls.

Is Vitun able to bless the Looter team before they head off?
>>
>>21629224
Ooh, let's send Mitsune with them. At least she'll be out of our hair, and she will be gaining field experience as well.
>>
>>21629175
>Last minute changes to Looter Team
Have them include acquiring R2 and R9 series astromech droids if they can, preference on the R2 since the R9's value their own existence a little too much.
If they can, go to Knights of the Old Republic II to acquire the HK-50 and lightsabers from dead Jedi and Sith, and then hop forward into the Legacy of the Force era to acquire the other things; droids should be plentiful and easy to get in used condition, as well as many lightsabers.

>ART Specs: completed
Can we also retrofit these upgrades into the HUDs of the helmets of the troops we have in power armor?

The team should already have an Al'Kesh with them. Also ask Pellaeon if he'd like to stick with them, to see some of the old sights of home.

>>21629269
NO, we are NOT sending Mitsune unsupervised into a Canon.
>>
>>21629269

I'm not sure sending a convicted felon on a long range acquisition mission with plenty of chances to slip away would be a good idea.
>>
>>21629269
I ... don't like the sound of that. Mitsune would make the Looters' mission harder for them, not easier.
>>
>>21629307
>Legacy of the Force era
Actually, change that to after the Second Imperial Civil War, 138 ABY.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Second_Imperial_Civil_War

Pellaeon can take a look at the venerable Pellaeon-class while they go around buying and looting stuff.
>>
>>21629224
>If they can get the schematics for the mind-shielding helms
You mean the Advanced Bio-Stabilization Masks?
We can already research those, it'll take 2 days to complete.
Schematics from a Star Wars Canon wouldn't be useful, because almost all of the research time is converting the schematics we already have into a format that the replicators can understand.
>>
>>21629319

Mitsune belongs in a holding cell where she will await transfer to psychiatric facilities in the Shadowrun base. It wouldn't hurt to plant a tracking device in her either, although the Geas that the Crusade put on her will probably keep her in line. We should probably get our own psych evaluation on her and do some psi-digging in her mind to see if she was influenced to act the way she did, or if she's just a terrible person.

Same goes for Kanako. A tracking device or other such things would be useful in case she starts dressing up like a staff member to do stuff.
>>
>>21629307
>>21629315
>>21629319
I apologize, the idea was very flawed. I'm just trying to find a way to get a use out of her if we can't drop her off at a base for rehabilitation.
>>
>>21629381

She can run the bar at the AUH Officer's club.
>>
>>21629224
In addition to stealing and scamming (Al'Kesh and Spike), we should send some mass-replicated guns with the looters.
Arms smuggling is a common profession in Star Wars, and a good way to get some initial credits.
If anyone knows of any black market dealers in Star Wars that our looters can trust to turn teleported-up items into credits, that'd be helpful.
If we're sending across guns, it might also be worth sending a few mass-producable drones with the looters. I don't expect the looters to fight, but we've got drone production facilities, and it can't hurt to have a squad of meatshields [metalshields?] available.
With that extra gear, the looters should hopefully be able to get stuff for us.
>>
>>21629370
Schematics would be very helpful, yes. There's a ton of stuff in Star Wars we could make use of. I think priority should go to the Masks and other protective technologies.
>>
>>21629391
Oh hell no. If we can't trust her to steal, I'm not trusting her withing five yards of my food or drink.
>>
>>21629391
>>21629448

We'll just find her drunk ass draped over the counter.
>>
>>21629466
Is that a canon trait?
>>
>>21629411
List the technologies, and I'm confident that we either already have them, have the Looters going to get them, or have better.
We already have the Bio-Stabilization Masks and only need research team time to add them to the replicator database.

>>21629392
The only guns we have that we can sell are the old A280's. MetaOP, can we replicate the A280 Blaster Rifles we have now?
>>
>>21629482
Yes. Booze, scamming, and never actually doing her real job are canon traits.
I don't quite know how she'll react if we MAKE her job "Booze and scamming", but she'll probably find some way to get drunk, scam us out of money, and AVOID doing her job in the process somehow.
>>
>>21629482

Kinda.

She canonically succeeds the Hinata Cafe and loves booze. I'm not sure if its in her to mess with alcohol by adding shit in.
>>
>>21629494
Well, we do need personal shields, if I remember correctly. Maybe get lightsaber crystals so we can replicate them to sell? Ship schematics we don't have, like X-Wings, Y-Wings, Tie-Defenders, etc.
>>
>>21629564
>personal shields
We already have kinetic barriers and Federation energy shields for everyone.
Light saber crystals can't be synthesized without the Force.
We don't need ship schematics because they can already get scanned by the Hercules; they'd have to be converted by our scientists anyway, which still takes time.
>>
>>21629494
It'll take a day to research the schematics.

>>21629224

>>

I don't care if it is. Enforced sobriety for Mitsune, as far as I'm concerned.

She is being punished, you know. Still, finding a punitive, yet not critical job (janitorial duties are freaking critical, yes) for her to undertake is rather hard.

As for Kanako... Fuck, what do we do with the pint-size goth? While sending Mitsune into combat/suicide mission would be legal, if not ethically questionable, we can't do the same to a kid.

If they don't know, and considering that the TG and the TSAB share a border, and currently a treaty, they could very well come under attack from a rogue TG or Black Ops unit.
Then the entire organization will get blamed, rather than some rogue operatives.

This is why we told the Great Crusade about the internal problems; rogue TG units have already attacked them and they were going to shoot first if they had seen the Oncoming Storm.

"Thank you Commander. While our two agencies may disagree on methods, at least we can both agree on some things. Staying out of the Timeline Wars, the Tannhauser Conventions, that Walter Page needs to be stopped.
"We are continuing our research on Aglaophotis. If we make any new breakthrough's we will transmit them to you."

I'd tell them about Shin-Ra, but I think it would be better if we gave the TSAB's number to Shin-Ra, so they can choose when to get noticed by another of the Big Players of the Meta.
>>
>>21629864
MetaOP, considering it's now likely late Day 24, has our Transpace Lance and Noosphere research been completed?

I'd like to give the TSAB the RED-2-GENERIC and Cortical Stack research, but I'm afraid that if they deploy it, it'll fall into the hands of the Void Engineers, and that must be avoided.
>>
>>21629872
Well, their fates would be altered by the geas so I would suggest having the Farseers check and see if they can divine the wording of the geas.

Also; Elaine, Data, and Douglas were picked because they have methods against seduction. Elaine is female, so no-go. Data can pick apart their logic and just flip off his emotion chip if anything starts happening (plus general 'hey, Troi did this for all those years and I *was* paying attention'). And Douglas can help them conquer any fears or inner demons they have; and if they try anything funny? SURPRISE OKKU.

>>21629864
"Yeah. Paige is a dick. Oh, and the Dimensional wards have been a big help so far. Thank you."

>>21629968
I second withholding the existence of Shin-Ra for now, and this plan to give THEM the TSAB's number. Better to let them have their way in contacting others.

Speaking of which, we should drop by and give them some "Welcome to the Meta" goodies and info to digest. Be neighborly and all. AFTER we check on our HQ and give Holtz an in-person update.
>>
>>21629816
"We'll need some R&R before our TaskForce is in any shape to take on New Chaos. That Arch-Sue clobbered us pretty good. Thankfully, time differentials will allow us to make that time far quicker than you might think.

As soon as we are ready, we'll move against them. I suggest however, that we remain in frequent contact in case of any alarming development and to begin strategizing against New Chaos. I think our best hope is to combine our efforts to deal with this threat. If we can eradicate them without the Crusade getting involved, I think we'll all be happier. If they prove too strong... well, at least we'll have the Crusade as back up."
>>
>>21630011
No, let's not rub it in her face that as her people fight an die on the front-line, we're taking R&R.
Saying that we're suffering severe damage to our task force and are repairing as fast as we can is enough.

>"An impressive feat, finally getting around to cleaning up a mess your organization made years ago."
What [mess your organization made years ago]?
Chaosbringer was one of ours, or somehow created/planted into the area by us? I know SUEs pop up from time to time, but I didn't know that the Transpace Guard would sometimes help them make messes of things.

>"Those would be worlds claimed by New Chaos."
Both of 'em, eh? Hm. One's gotta be Warhams and one's gotta be Eva, then. Grim darkness of the 40th millennium vs. Grim darkness of 2015. You know what Year it is those black blobs? I know you mean Resurrection and Repair, but come on, you can't be ignorant of its other meaning of Rest and Relaxation. It's not going to sound good when she was just saying that the situation was getting dire, and her patrols are barely able to hold on, and then we say that we have take some R&R.

>We are on very late Day 24
Okay, I think we should have the science team spend 3 days Elysium-Time/14.4 hours Real-Time to prepare the A280 Blaster Rifles and Advanced Bio-Stabilization Masks for the replicators. Fortunately, the Salarian scientists don't need much sleep, and VAX doesn't need sleep at all.
Then have Al'Kesh 1 and the Looter Team's ship filled with them in order to trade them for the items we've requested and Galactic Credits.

Ask Pellaeon if he'd like to take a break, check out the galaxy, his old stomping grounds, as it were.

While the Looter Team is going to Star Wars, after our own repairs and doing some shopping here in Shadowrun, we can go to a Pathfinder Canon and pick up magical supplies we need.
>>
>>21630354
My guess?
They've been implanted with a subdermal Meta-Space Beacon (we've seen how advanced their Meta-Tech is; their hand-held Meta-Communicator equals one that we have to mount on a starship, and I don't think we even have hand-held units), and possibly also with a memory recorder chip and communications sniffer.
The Great Crusade will know where we go, whatever those two see and hear, and all communications that go into and out of our task force.
It's what I would do, if I was in their place, and I wanted to know if the task force really was who they said they were.

We're not going there for a few days at least.

And I think the Battlefield is more important, since that's where the STOB components are, and where the TSAB is trying to hold the line. We should stabilize that area first, secure the STOB components, then attack the New Chaos stronghold.

Okay, I think we're done with the TSAB.
"Sorry to always be the bearer of bad news, Commander. I hope that the next time we speak, it can be under better circumstances."

MetaOP, since we're in the Shadowrun Canon, have the Spirit of Triumph and the Hercules make the hyperspace jump to the asteroid belt to begin resourcing operations. Have the Support Frigates finish up repairs. The Hiigaran Battlecruiser can be repaired by the Spirit itself.
During the course of mining, have the Spirit's resource collectors separate platinum and gold, which we will use to purchase some magic foci and talismans for our shadowrunner teams.
>>
>>21630899
As for the Looter Team, there's the preparations for them:
>Late Day 24, begin research, finish by mid-day Day 25
Have the science team spend 3 days Elysium-Time/14.4 hours Real-Time to prepare the A280 Blaster Rifles and Advanced Bio-Stabilization Masks for the replicators. Fortunately, the Salarian scientists don't need much sleep, and VAX doesn't need sleep at all.
Then have the Rodger Young and the Looter Team's ship filled with them in order to trade them for the items we've requested and Galactic Credits.

Ask Pellaeon if he'd like to take a break, check out the galaxy, his old stomping grounds, as it were.
Ask Spike to go along, to help negotiate.
Have them take a 12-hologram squad of Emergency Security Holograms just in case.

Before they leave, ask Spike if he'd like his eye upgraded with Federation ocular implant upgrades (all the stuff of the ART Spectacles).

Items to get:
another HK-50
thermal detonators
repulsors (as spare parts for the TIE Defenders)
Kolto medpacks
bacta
agricultural droids (for maintaining the hydroponic labs)
electrostaffs (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Electrostaff)
some lightsabers (as trade goods)
R2 or R9 astromech droids, preference for R2's

Star Wars galaxy post-Second Imperial Civil War, ABY 138

Upgrading the HUD's of the helmets of the power armor troops we have to the same standards as the ART Spectacles will take 1 hour per suit.

Resses, Fixes, Restocks.

What canon are we off to next? Someone said Pathfinder, to restock on magical scrolls and stuff. Would we be able to get Ethers there?
I'm up for a good ol' fashioned dungeon crawl. We've got a good amount of Heroes. If we're heading over to Pathfinder, it wouldn't go amiss to get your usual "Hark brave X, go to Y and bring me a Z" routine going on.

We'll just have to place strong tracking devices on them and keep a close eye on them. Kanako can disguise herself and her mannerisms, but she might be foiled by several subdermal tracking devices. We can also have Vitun place geas-quest spells on each of them with extremely specific rules-lawyering and legalese-level specifications to mitigate some risks.
>>

He say something to the extent "You will be completely open and honest in your dealings with this agency" or somesuch. Nothing to compel them to act in a rehabilitated way for a decade, but just to prevent them from doing anything sneaky while they're onboard. It's probably a bit morally grey, but we're running a tight operation here. I don't want to get wind of a transmission sent to the Void Engineers about our current research because of one of them.

Using words to change people stimulates chemicals in the brain that writes their brain structure to identify you as friend. So imo just directly injecting chemicals and rewriting structure is cool too. So long as you've worked out the errors in your method and don't end up accidentally making canon-enforcing zombies or something.
>>
>>21631399
We do not brainwash. That road leads to Editor-SUEs.
>>
>>21631437
But what's the difference between that and having someone with a diplomancer score of +80 talking to people?
Or, are you including uber-diplomancy as brainwashing?
In which case I suppose you're right and you can become a monster if you wield too much power too frivolously. Be that the power to destroy, or the power to convince.
>>
>>21631469
Being convincing is not the same as forcefully changing opinion through synthetic means.

>>
>>21631521

>>
>>21631500
What if you make a computer simulation of the guy's brain
and simulate various phrases/emotional intonations at the guy, until you find the ONE phrase that convinces him the most?
Then you use that speech on him and it convinces him.
You can even model the way his brain reacts to the phrases sent to him.

Now, you're saying that changing his brain directly is morally different to using the phrase, even though the result is the same?
I disagree with that!

We still need a new skill for Mustadio, a new skill for Isel, and confirmation on the new X-COM hero.

Tentatively, I have him down as:
Marc Lecointe
- X-COM NOVA Elite Veteran

Possible skills are:
Sky Ranger - There's a reason why Marc Leocointe was one of the few NOVA survivors in Dystopia, his combat and marcsmenship skills were among the highest in the world.

Terror From The Deep - When deep ones and lobstermen rose from the seas, They ran from Him. When slaying an enemy and snapping an appropriate quip, enemies besides those with unbreakable morale (even then its a tossup) test or break.

Who Dares - Alternatively known as "Knock Knock - It's Motherfucking X-COM" - Marc has done some of the craziest things ever attempted by any X-COM soldier, from either X-COM agency, and lived to tell the tale. The Command Crew can send this soldier to do the impossible, and the crazier it is, the likelier it is to succeed and for Marc to survive. Even if it is with critical plasma burns over 80% of his body.
Sort of an X-COM version of Spike's "How Many Pints of Blood Do You Have?"

You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry - Where most mental defenses falter in the face of pain and injury, Marc's defenses only get stronger the angrier he becomes, and he can get quite angry when he's been injured.
Marc's Psi Resistance approaches infinity, and psychics will feel like they're slamming their minds against an adamantium wall when they try to attack his psyche.

X-com precognition. - Whenever we fumble when using a group of X-commies, we can reload and go back a turn

Hidden Movement: Due to his lengthy service, Marc receives a bonus whenever he tries to do something sneaky; whether it's slipping past enemy patrols and surveillance equipment, or doing something downright bastardly that David Stirling would approve of, Marc can get it done.
>>
>>21631599
Terror From The Deep is pretty good.

Wasn't there an ability named "ROOKIES! FUUUU" that meant Marc could make other troops stop panicking and make them shoot straight by yelling at them?

X-com savescumman is also pretty powerful.
>>
>>21631649

The bright slapping ability. So that they stop losing their shit.
>>
>>21631599
Hidden Movement and Who Dares sound good to me.
>>
>>21631649
That's another skill that could be added to the list of potential skills.

If you want to add others, just make sure that it's written so that it provides a clear description of what it does, and what it can mean in terms of what happens in the game.
>>
>>21631599
Can Mustadio get some kind of research assist? Like, boosts research rate of projects he's involved in by x%.

As for Isel, maybe we can get something that allows him to upload drone patterns to the Creation Engine or Replicators?
Or perhaps a skill that lets him DIRECT CONTROL of an entire squad of drones at once?
>>
>>21631715
I thought it already existed. If it didn't, my bad, and just ignore it.
>>
>>21631521
I'd say Who Dares and should probably change the X-com precog slightly to make it more balanced.

X-Com Savescumming: Whenever a fumble is made in a battle where X-com soldiers are being used, we have the option to move the fumble to that squad instead of whoever it was originally meant for.
>>
>>21631760
So Rookies can literally absorb bad rolls now?

>Rookies! Fuuuuuuuuuuu
>This XCOM commander has seen some shit, especially of rookies shooting friendlies and panicking like pansies. Nightmares from too many incidents have made him very aware of the troops mental state and he is able to 'bright-slap' them before they can inflict harm on our own forces.
>>
>>21631760
I think I like these two. My vote goes this way.

Also, here's my idea for Isel Yew:

"You Didn't Say the Magic Word"-
Description something like this: Isel has become exceptionally more capable with creating hack-proof systems, and enemies have a harder time breaching security he's worked on.
>>
Mustadio:
- Those Famed Starfleet Engineers
"Working alongside the likes of Commander Data, the Guru's of Zeal, and Egon Spengler has given Mustadio the ability to do emergency repairs and jury-rig nearly-impossible magitechnological solutions while under pressure in much less time than stated.
"Turning rocks into replicators indeed."

>>
>>21631916
The important thing about this skill isn't the time-saving (though that's really useful); it's that it allows Mustadio to create a magitech device on the fly.
So with him and Egon, we could pull the power packs from a Type-2 Phaser and connect them to an Ioun focusing crystal via a PK conditioning array built from an ectoplasmic PK beacon to super-charge one of Lyla's Holy spells.

All Hands on Deck - Hacking attempts gain a static bonus whenever Isel is working with another hacker or computer expert.

Isel can attempt to perform another hacking-related action whenever he wishes. He can also lend insight to another fellow hacker, allowing them the same chance. Limited amount of uses per day, TBD. (Reroll ability for hacking actions)

Feedback - If Isel is forced to jack out of a hacking attempt, he can choose to send a feedback wave back to the opposing hacker/program that can hamper or possibly even incapacitate/disable it.

I'm voting for Who Dares and Rookies! Fuuuuuuuuuuu!

Also, these two

I'm fond of Isel making hack-proof tech mostly because it seems to be something that someone who had his brain hacked would do.

If someone turned me into a vegetable, I'd sure as hell make sure it didn't happen again.

Be prepared, that's the TG Hacker Team's new motto.

It's our motto too, when we get our heads out of our asses and actually GET to planning.

Oh, that's hard to choose.
So:
"You Didn't Say The Magic Word" is improved Defense.
"All Hands On Deck" is improved Effectiveness.
And "Feedback" is just a "FUCK YOU" to whoever tries to hack us, and it might make them more vulnerable to a second attempt.

>when we get our heads out of our asses and actually GET to planning.
You know there were people complaining that we plan TOO much earlier in the quest?

Anyway, back to choosing skills.
Maybe if we make "You Didn't Say the Magic Word" not only allow Isel to design and upgrade systems to have better defenses, any system that he is on, whether it be a secure data repository or a drone control network, will become significantly harder to hack.

You Didn't Say the Magic Word -

After getting his brain hijacked, working to crack systems held together by magic, and seeing impossibly advanced Federation computer systems compromised by teenagers using dated 20th century PCs, Isel has learned a few things about security. Enemy hackers and malicious programs will have an exceptionally difficult time breaching any systems that he has worked on. Especially when they have an obese and bespectacled sprite constantly reminding them that they didn't say the magic word.

I'm looking through our inventory.
We never assigned the Neishot or the Megacrash launcher to anyone.
Also it doesn't look like we're doing anything with the Holy water, despite it being pretty much ICE-9 but with holiness instead of solidity.

I like it. Nice upgrade to my upgrade.

Task Force 38 Hacker Team Motto - "If someone turns you into a vegetable, make damn sure it never happens again."

Zerg Quest Motto - "Not because it's a good idea, but because we can."

Task Force 38 Motto - "Damn it, not again. Vitun, we need you to rez someone for us over here in Aisle 3."

"If it moves, loot it. If it doesn't move - loot it."

Neishot requires research to understand how to fire properly, and Megacrash Launcher has very limited ammo (like a dozen shots). And while powerful, we've been more concerned with things that can be applied to the Task Force as a whole, or that will hopefully unlock higher tiers of research.

As for the Holy Water; we haven't met many enemies that it would work against.
I mean, we had 40 gallons of the stuff just made, but it proved ineffective against our enemies here.

I still think it should provide a hacking defense bonus for any network or system that Isel is in.

"After getting his brain hijacked, working to crack systems held together by magic, and seeing impossibly advanced Federation computer systems compromised by teenagers using outdated 20th century PCs, Isel has learned a few things about security. Enemy hackers and malicious programs will have an exceptionally difficult time breaching any systems that he has worked on or is currently logged on to. Here's the top contenders.
Marc Lecointe
Who Dares - Alternatively known as "Knock Knock - It's Motherfucking X-COM" - Marc has done some of the craziest things ever attempted by any X-COM soldier, from either X-COM agency, and lived to tell the tale. The Command Crew can send this soldier to do the impossible, and the crazier it is, the likelier it is to succeed and for Marc to survive. Even if it is with critical plasma burns over 80% of his body.
Sort of an X-COM version of Spike's "How Many Pints of Blood Do You Have?"

Terror From The Deep - When deep ones and lobstermen rose from the seas, They ran from Him. When slaying an enemy and snapping an appropriate quip, enemies besides those with unbreakable morale (even then its a tossup) test or break.

Hidden Movement: Due to his lengthy service, Marc receives a bonus whenever he tries to do something sneaky; whether it's slipping past enemy patrols and surveillance equipment, or doing something downright bastardly that David Stirling would approve of, Marc can get it done.

X-Com Savescumming: Whenever a fumble is made in a battle where X-com soldiers are being used, we have the option to move the fumble to that squad instead of whoever it was originally meant for.

Rookies! Fuuuu!: This XCOM commander has seen some shit, especially of rookies shooting friendlies and panicking like pansies. Nightmares from too many incidents have made him very aware of the troops mental state and he is able to 'Bright-slap' them before they can inflict harm on our own forces.

Mustadio:
"Those Famed Starfleet Engineers": Working alongside the likes of Commander Data, the Guru's of Zeal, and Egon Spengler has given Mustadio the ability to do emergency repairs and jury-rig nearly-impossible magitechnological solutions, even while under pressure, in much less time than stated.
Turning rocks into replicators indeed.

Isel:
"You Didn't Say the Magic Word": After getting his brain hijacked, working to crack systems held together by magic, and seeing impossibly advanced Federation computer systems compromised by teenagers using outdated 20th century PCs, Isel has learned a few things about security. Enemy hackers and malicious programs will have an exceptionally difficult time breaching any systems that he has worked on or is currently logged on to. Especially when they have an obese and bespectacled sprite constantly reminding them that they didn't say the magic word.

For Marc Lecointe, Who Dares is a definite pick in my mind.
