"Thanks for doing this," Chiyo says to you, casting sideways glances at you by the occassional lamplight. "You didn't have to, though."

"I know," you say, "But I wanted to see you home safe."

The two of you walk in silence for a small amount of time before arriving at her yard. "This is it," she says. She steps up toward her front door, stops, and turns around to face you. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Of course," you say. "We've all got tomorrow off, so I'm sure we could all do something if we really wanted to."

"Thanks." She hesitates for a moment, then asks, "Do you maybe want to come in for a few minutes?"

"Sure, thank you, Chiyo." You step inside and see Chiyo's parents sitting in the living room. "Oh, good evening, Okaasan, Otousan," you say.

"Ohh Anon-kun," Chiyo's mother says, "How are you doing?"

"I'm good," you say. "A bit tired, but I'm good. How are you?"

"Oh just fine," she says, a small laugh escaping her lips. "What brings you here? We never see you anymore."

"Just walking Chiyo back," you explain. "Things have been really busy lately, what with Mom on that trip."

"I heard about that," Chiyo's mother says, "She's a lucky woman to win that trip." Chiyo's father, who is absorbed with the news on TV, nods in agreement.

"Well, we're gonna get a drink really fast," Chiyo says.

"Alright, Dear," Chiyo's mother says. The two of you wander into the kitchen, and she gives you a drink of water.

"Sorry about that," Chiyo says. "You know how they get."

"It's fine," you say. "So what happens now?" you then ask.

Chiyo shrugs for a moment. "I don't know what I'm going to do," she says, "But you need to get back to the house. The others are waiting on you, and while I'm thankful you walked me home... It was a bit rude to leave them like that." She sighs, then steps toward you. "So get back there, okay?" She hugs you tightly and kisses you on the cheek.

"Alright," you say, shrugging. "I'll catch you tomorrow. Text me if something comes up."

"I will." She walks you to the door, and you bid a good night to her and her parents before wandering back off to your house.

You arrive back without a fuss and see the girls all in the living room watching one of your anime blu-rays. "I'm back," you announce.

"Welcome back, Anon-kun," they all say.

"Did you guys want to watch anime, or did you want to do something else?" you ask.

"Whatever you want to do," Miyuki says.

You stop when asked, then head into the room with the rope. When you reemerge, you say, "If you girls are going to make tying me up and interrogating me a regular thing I should teach you how to do it right. They all stare at you blankly. You can't read their expressions very well, but you think they just might be surprised. That or they're repulsed, but they don't know how to convey the feeling to you in a nice way.

"What?" you eventually ask.

"You do realize that it was all a joke, right?" Miyuki asks.

"Y-yeah," you say, caught off-guard for a moment. "Still, knowing how to tie a proper knot could save your life in the right circumstance."

"I don't wanna learn anything more~" Sayuri says, frowning. "I go to school to learn. I don't go to Anon-kun's house to learn, too."

"Sayuri has a point," Roslyn says. "That's kind of boring right now. Besides, I didn't tie the knot; Chiyo did. I know how to tie knots." She glances up at the clock and sighs. "I should probably head home," she says. "It's almost ten."

"So soon?" Miyuki asks. "Time really flew by, didn't it?" Roslyn nods. "I guess it can't be helped, though."

"Yeah..." Roslyn stands up. "I guess I'll head out now before I lose track of time again."

"Alright," you say, "I guess I'll see you later."

"Not going to make me stay?" she asks, surprised. "Huh. I thought you might've." You see a small frown on her lips, but you see her shrug, almost as if to herself. "Catch you guys later," she says after she gathers her belongings. She heads out the door, making her way back to her house, leaving you again with Miyuki and Sayuri.

The three of you enjoy the rest of the anime they had put on earlier, and when you check the time, it's nearly 10:30. "Were you going to stay here," you ask, "Or were you going to go home, too?"

"I should probably go home," Sayuri says sadly. "I didn't tell my parents I'd be staying at someone's house, so..."

"I understand," you say. "Want a walk home?"

"Yes please~"

"Alrighty, get your stuff." You stand and stretch, and Miyuki pulls on a corner of your shirt. "What's up?" you ask.

"I'm going to take a shower," she says, "So get Sayuri home and then get back soon, alright?" You nod, and Miyuki bids Sayuri goodbye, and you and the small girl head to her house.

"Anon-kun?" she asks you along the dark path.

"Yeah?"

"...Do you love me?" she asks bluntly.

"Of course I do," you say, slightly hurt. "I don't know why you'd think anything different."

"It's just..." She looks up at you, and she slips her hand into yours. "I can't help but feel like there's more going on," she says. "I'm not stupid. I know how the others see you... especially Chiyo-chan." She looks up at the sky. "I... I don't know what to make of it all, Anon-kun, and I need to know where I stand in your life if... if this means anything."

You can't help but look at the girl again, reexamining her features. Despite her childish personality, she proves time and time again that she does think about things on a larger scale, and with the maturity of an adult. "Well," you say delicately, "I love and care about you and the other girls. I don't want to lie about it, so I'll be up front with you. I don't know what to expect with the otehers, and I don't know where I'll be tomorrow, but as long as I am in control of my life, I'll always be here. You're a special person to me, and you can't be replaced."

"Really?"

"Of course," you say again. "But here, look." You gesture to her front door. "We're here already. It's late, and we both need to sleep. Text me in the morning, and we'll see about doing something later, okay?" She nods. "Alright, good."

"Anon-kun?" she asks, motioning you to get on her level. You kneel down and she kisses you on the lips for the briefest of moments before shuffling inside.

You take a breath. You can still feel the lingering sensation of Sayuri's lips against yours. You head back to your house, and when you get back, you see Miyuki already in in her sleeping clothes, a glass of water in hand. "Get a shower and come to bed," she says. You nod and do so, and when you climb into bed, Miyuki is still awake and looking at you. "Something bothering you?" she asks.

You contemplate the situation and try to decide if you want to talk about what just happened, or if you want to talk about something else entirely. Then again, you might just want to sleep.

For the next hour, you find yourself engaged in a deep conversation about the girls and how they all view you. As you're talking, you can't help but feel your eyelids grow heavier and heavier as the conversation progresses. Soon, you blur the borders between imagination and reality, and you fall asleep.

Over the next few days, you spend a great deal of time with the girls, from working together on homework to playing games and watching movies. Things really just feel like they blur together as the festival approaches. After school over those few days, you help Sayuri finish off the stall and then compile a list of tools you'll need for running the stall that weekend. Once you know what you'll need, you find yourself plesantly surprised that you have everything you'll need.

Classes go by as usual. You take your time out to talk to Sora during History and even during lunch. While she doesn't visit during lunch, she does make good on her word to help out Monday after school, much to Sayuri's pleasure.

Before you know it, Thursday rolls around and comes to an end. You're standing outside your school looking at the campus in thought while you wait for Miyuki. You'll have tomorrow and the day after, Friday and Saturday, off for the festival. While that means you'll have your chance for fun, you'll also have to help clean up on Saturday.

No matter what happens, you resolve to enjoy yourself at the festival and to ensure the girls do as well.
