Yup. It's TG Quest all right.

When last we left off, the breakout team managed to bust out Yuna from the Chaos Palace at a somewhat high cost. VP-98 finds the summoner exhausted and unconscious in her cell. With very little in the way of enemy forces left on the planet, things are almost to an end.

Rucks will be returning later.

As VP-98 attempts to rouse Yuna, her eyes flutter open and she gives a weak groan.

Check around, see if there are anymore notable prisoners aside from Yuna and Ultimecia. We should try and free everyone who doesn't belong here. And Ultimecia, seeing as we can't leave her here if we want to try and fix FF8 world.
>>
>>21522310
Have a member of the Medical Team get in there to go over Yuna.

Engineering Team, set up more of the disruptor turrets so that if any enemy patrols try to come here, they're in for a world of hurt.

Probe Droids and VP-99, check the other cells and see if there's anyone else we should rescue. Besides Ultimecia.

White Mages, finish reviving everyone.

Char, you should probably park the Gaia Gear for this.
Aurors, Shamans, Mages, Psions. Use Char's residual link with Gondegal and see if you can find any trace of our ghostly paladin.
>>
Okay, VP-98. Activate your user interface please.

"Yuna, wake up. We're aware you're groggy and probably in a lot of pain; but we're here to rescue you. Probably a stupid question, but can you walk? If not, tell us and we'll divert some friendlies to your location to help move you."

Alright, folks; eyes sharp. Watch your lines, sweep your flanks, and stay ready. We don't need ANY more surprises. I've had enough of this world's bullshit.

I believe we decided to call our new X-COM NOVA Hero Marc Lecointe.
Possible skills are:
Sky Ranger - There's a reason why Marc Leocointe was one of the few NOVA survivors in Dystopia, his combat and marcsmenship skills were among the highest in the world.

Terror From The Deep - When deep ones and lobstermen rose from the seas, They ran from Him. When slaying an enemy and snapping an appropriate quip, enemies besides those with unbreakable morale (even then its a tossup) test or break.

Who Dares - Alternatively known as "Knock Knock - It's Motherfucking X-COM" - Marc has done some of the craziest things ever attempted by any X-COM soldier, from either X-COM agency, and lived to tell the tale. The Command Crew can send this soldier to do the impossible, and the crazier it is, the likelier it is to succeed and for Marc to survive. Even if it is with critical plasma burns over 80% of his body.
Sort of an X-COM version of Spike's "How Many Pints of Blood Do You Have?"

You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry - Where most mental defenses falter in the face of pain and injury, Marc's defenses only get stronger the angrier he becomes, and he can get quite angry when he's been injured.
Marc's Psi Resistance approaches infinity, and psychics will feel like they're slamming their minds against an adamantium wall when they try to attack his psyche.

X-com precognition. - Whenever we fumble when using a group of X-commies, we can reload and go back a turn

Hidden Movement: give him a bonus when he's being a sneaky bastard.

No matter how nasty you think they are, I'm worse: Marc gets good leadership qualities which can allow him to rally a squad in almost any situation

Not being able to contact Gondegal right now isn't too surprising, considering the fact that metaphysical shockwaves are probably raging across this canon's higher planes due to the fight against Chaosbringer's essence. We'll try again once Avatar and Tsunami roflstomp the fuck.

Rodger Young, can you beam in a blanket and some clothes for Yuna?

Alright, we don't know who these other women are. Let's be careful.
Hologram Engineers, set up disruptor turrets along the hallway and in the entrance to the cellblock.

Security Holograms, take positions around the cells with prisoners.

VP-99, upload the faces of the women to the Storm.
ANON, run all of the faces through our database; are there any matches?
Aurors, Mages, check for magic from any of the women.
>>
>>21523078
He might not particularly want to come back.
Probably living it up in one of the outer planes, since he was sent to an underworld.
But if we want ghosts so badly, we could have Vitun cast

Proper State
Necromancy [Ectomancy]
Level: Clr 4, Ghost 4
Components: V, S, DF
Casting Time: 1 full round
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Effect: One willing incorporeal undead
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No
You transform a willing incorporeal undead creature into a ghost. If its previous class and level are unknown, it becomes a ghost of the same race as you, with warrior levels equal to its undead Hit Dice. If the undead’s previous race, class, and level were known (such as if the undead were a former ally that became the spawn of a shadow), it becomes a ghost of its former self. In any case, the creature’s character level is no greater than the Hit Dice it had as an undead. For example, a 5th-level dwarf fighter that became a shadow’s spawn and was turned into a ghost with this spell would now be a 2nd-level fighter. Levels lost in this manner are handled as if the character had lost levels from an undead’s energy drain attack.
A creature redeemed with this spell retains the alignment it had as an undead creature, although it is not strongly attached to that alignment and can change it over time or with the aid of an atonement spell.
Because only humanoids can become ghosts, this spell works only on incorporeal undead that are vaguely humanoid. For example, it cannot convert a spectral steed (a horselike undead), a nightwing nightshade (a batlike creature), a nightwalker nightshade (a giantlike creature), or a nightcrawler (a wormlike creature) into a ghost.

Just to make sure, we're contacting Ultimecia because the wards around her are weakening, she's probably going to wake up when we kill Chaosbringer, and there's no guarantee that we'll be able to keep her asleep even in stasis since even when under the effect of an Epic Sleep spell, she's still awake and a stasis pod won't cut it.

Most dodge the shots with impossibly fast reflexes. When they reach the Holograms, they cleave their mobile emitters in two with shining swords and axes. Your forces immediately begin taking losses.

Your Abjurers begin setting Ultimecia free.

Blasterbombs and grenades pound the area, slaying a few Amazons, but the women warriors press on. As your troops open fire, more Amazons fall, not all of them able to dodge or deflect the shots. Archers from behind the melee rank fire a barrage of arrows that go through the heads of the X-COM troops carrying Blaster Bombs, passing through the Power Suits as if it were paper.

Wonder Woman backflips over to the Confederate Marines and before they can draw a bead on her, she has already slain two of them.

All of your droids, holograms, the White Mages, the Marines, the Shadowrunners, and the Psions are slain by the sheer destructive force behind the spell. Everyone else is heavily wounded.

Something else happens as well. The spell's energy seems to react with something and the ceiling explodes outward, obliterating the upper stories of the palace and exposing the prison cells to open air as three comets of energy slam into the ground. They swiftly resolve themselves into humanoid forms. A ghostly image of Chaosbringer, made up of black energy, the Avatar's ethereal form made up of pure magic, and the form of Tsunami. Shit!
We need to get them into Nanny-bags and ready for a dip in the regeneration tanks as quickly as possible. Same with the Psions, and the Mages and Shamans of the Shadowrunners.
We made sure to have nannybags on-hand, so X-COM Squad, get bagging!

Well if the gods were having trouble... the release of ultimecia was the right choice.

Now would be a good time to send Mihoshi down. We're done there, but she still needs to be sent into Washu's Lab. And make sure that we put an interplexing subspace beacon on her so that we can track her into the Lab, and assault it in force when she starts doing her thing in there.

"This ends now, Chaosbringer," Tsunami declares as the dark god looks at her balefully.

"Your supporters on Olympus are gone, your mortal worshipers are slain, and your armies are destroyed," the Avatar states. "Honor demands I ask you to surrender, though Justice reminds me the best I can offer you is a painless end."

"You won't even remember the word 'painless' when I'm through with you two..." Chaosbringer hisses. He punches the ground. "This place is strong with my power... and I have something in store for you..."

"Nothing will save you from me now!" Ultimecia shouts. "It doesn't matter what you have, I'll grind your world to dust for the trouble you've caused me!"

"You've made such statements before and I barely exerted myself on you, witch," Chaosbringer growls. "Tsunami... You should've stayed asleep. What's coming will rend your heart."

The remaining ground of the palace shakes as a shadowy portal begins to tear itself open.

We're also fast running out of time.
Rodger Young, as soon as you finish beaming in the other healers, beam Mihoshi down from the AUH to the Breakout Team's location.

"Detective Kuramitsu, we need you to go in and find Washu's Lab, and free Lord Tenchi and Lady Ayeka. Keep this interplexing beacon with you, it will let us track you. The Al'Keshes immediately begin mass teleports for raising the dead, but due to the timing, you already know that some of your troops won't make it.

Wonder Woman doesn't respond at first, but stands. "What do you want?"

Well, that battle on the planet below raged for a long time by the standards of the Task Force, but it weren't nothing but a blink of an eye to types like gods. That Ultimecia, she tosses around those Apocalypse and Hell's Judgment spells like they're going out of style.

The others are more subtle. Avatar leads off with a few energy blasts, but then he starts weaving the threads of mana around the battlefield, cutting off the flow of energy to Washu and Chaosbringer, trying to subtly alter reality in ways that expose their weaknesses, redirecting the flow of primal essence from other worlds, the sun, the earth itself to keep himself and Tsumani going strong despite the beating they take. Tsunami is on the defensive for most of the battle, but her attacks are of a different nature. She tries to worm her way into Washu's mind, tries to find whatever Chaosbringer did to twist her and repair it. It don't work, though.

Meantime, Chaosbringer's summoning demons and trying to melt away the Avatar and Tsunami with darkness or the like. His spells don't work so well on multidimensional beings, though. Washu is more effective, but Tsunami's taking the heat from her for the time being.

Halfway through Ultimecia wises up and starts casting Holy on Chaosbringer, but that still wasn't her worst mistake. She got so consumed with thoughts of vengeance, left herself right open to a devastating double attack by Chaosbringer and Washu. Washu used those light wings of hers to cut apart her limbs, Chaosbringer summoned an oozing darkness to consume them into oblivion. And so passed the great sorceress.

She served her purpose, though. Weakened the two of them, distracted them. Made them stop attacking Avatar and Tsunami long enough to get some breathin' room for 'em.

It ain't pretty, but while Chaosbringer was busying himself with Ultimecia, the Avatar manages to slip in under his defenses.

"Beings like you don't deserve even this foul magic!" he says. Then he jams one of his blazing hands into Chaosbringer's chest, the place where his heart should be.

The Titan of Ether can pull a lot of stunts with magic even Mystra or them three moon gods the Krynnish worship might get a little jealous of. This is one of them. The Avatar reaches into Chaosbringer, locates the focal point for his essence, and grabs... Well, I guess you might think of it as a loose string. He grabs that string and PULLS, unraveling his essence, stripping away every last nugget of magic from that monster. Chaosbringer starts coming apart like the Calamity itself was hitting him. He don't go quietly though. Chaosbringer, he takes his hand and tries to plunge it into the Avatar, but he ain't having any of that.

A fiery barrier of raw Virtue springs up between the two, burning away the dark hand and keeping it away. It takes effort, though. A lot of it. The Avatar puts every last bit of his strength into that barrier and as Chaosbringer's magic leaves him, throws it forward, enveloping the dark god and crushing him in its blaze. The white inferno swallows him whole, his last words not even a curse, but a shriek of impossible pain as the cloud of fire contracts until it's smaller than a pinprick of pure light. Then it vanishes, taking the darkness with it.

The Avatar collapses, his energy near completely drained. Vanishes from sight shortly after.

The quick of it is that we want to repair this world back to its natural, normal state. Before Chaosbringer came here and corrupted a noble soul into the twisted monster you knew as Queen Ecstacy. His reach extends far beyond this world and has corrupted many others.

Defeating Chaosbringer here is the key to this plan. Once he is defeated, we can work on restoring these worlds, curing all the people whom he has corrupted, and returning them to their homes.

If the Crusade was powerful enough to deal with Chaosbringer on their own accord (as implied by the G-man), then Tsunami may not be able to hold them for long. Certainly not when she's trying her best to defend against a corrupted Washu's attacks while trying to cure her.

They're probably coming here to investigate just what made that huge reality distortion signature disappear. Judgement of this world may happen not long after they arrive.

It might be possible that Chaosbringer didn't corrupt just one reality. Given how powerful he was as a SUE, he could have cut-and-pasted portions of select canons into one patchwork canon. The Transspace Guard may have put the quarantine frame up in this space because they didn't know how to fix this unintelligible mess of canons and didn't have the resources to deal with Chaosbringer.

Rodger Young, get a lock on those network taps.

Okay, get a group of Security Holograms ready, and beam them and the network taps into the tap, using Mihoshi's interplexing beacon as a destination.

Security Holograms, your one goal is to attach and activate the network taps to any piece of equipment you can. Washu's entire lab is networked together, just one should be enough.

Mouse, get your team ready, and begin the attack as soon as a network tap goes online.

Spike, Douglas, Tosh. We're going to need you ready for insertion into the lab, just in case.

If our motley crew was able to defeat Chaosbringer and his essence, I think that the whole DCU (heroes and villains) standing against him could have made great headway. The powered up blast shears through the Indefatigable's shields and into its hull, taking heavy damage. The Defiant-class vessel limps away as space begins to shimmer and bend in orbit.

A multitude of portals begin to open, spewing forth millions of vessels from fighters to battleships. Your sensor boards light up as your bridge crew desperately tries to keep up with the skyrocketing number of energy signatures and failing. The ships seem to be mostly types you haven't seen before, characterized by hard angles and vaguely rectangular shapes. About a fourth though, seems to be a patchwork of recognizable vessels ranging the gamut.

"Intruder fleet one million ships and counting."

"Distance to portals and fleet approximately 40,000 kilometers."

"Two million and counting."

"Attempting to classify ships... uh... There's a lot of stuff we can't ID in there."

"Three million and counting..."

"Super-class Star Destroyers detected, Chmmr Avatars detected, What are... oh... oh, no, I got 'em, Zentraedi ships. FPA cruisers... There's... ah... Spirecraft Dreadnoughts? Maug Battlecruisers? I never thought I'd ever see those... Sweet Jesus, is that a Culture GSV?!"

"Four million, counting."

"What the hell are the rest of 'em though?"

"Commanders, we're being hailed!"

What are these?

>>21528398

Spool up our drives.

I want to be able to get the fuck out of dodge if we have to.
>>
>>21528448
Apparently this: http://www.arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=Spirecraft_Shield_Bearer

I couldn't fin the second one.
>>
>>21528476
We can't. In the time it would take to spin up our drive (10 minutes) they would be able to tear our task force apart.
It's a useless gesture.
>>
>>21528476
What about our people on the planet?
>>
The time for fighting is over.
The time for words is now.
>>
>>21528491

So can't we spin them up now?

>>21528493

I thought we recalled most of our troops already. Whos still on the ground? If they're down there, we should issue a recall immediately.
>>
>>21528476
>>21528508
You know that they'll be able to sense our drive powering up, don't you? Have you considered how it will look to them when they catch us powering up our drives to run away? With the world currently still in tatters as it is?
>>
>>21528517
I'm pretty sure that Mechagodzilla is still on the ground, the ghost army too (Which I still want to recruit). I'm not sure about any thing else.

But I think running is not going to be the best option here.
>>
>>21528531

As compared to our ships being on a war footing, i wonder which is more likely to invite an attack.

Also, posturing ahead of the lives and backups of everyone in the taskforce. For shame.
>>
>>21528569
Look, running isn't an option.
They have us technologically outclassed in every way.
Only high-stakes diplomacy can save us now.
>>
>>21528566

I agree that running is not the best option but I'd at least like a panic button we can slam down on if they start shooting and acting belligerent.
>>
Welp guys, we're trapped, and diplomacy is our only answer.
>>
>>21528589
Our only ship with the fast MetaDrives is broken. These ones take a long time, and if we seem to be running away, could be shot at.

We can not escape.
>>
>>21528517
Charging the Meta-Transit Drive would not be taken well by the Crusade, because it would look like we just broke a world and we're going to run away, rather than just being in the middle of trying to fix this mess.
It's a stupid, knee-jerk reaction, and it wouldn't do anything since they have enough ships to simply punch through our shields if we try to run or fight.

As for troops not within the transit envelope, there's still MechaGodzilla, a good portion of the Escort Squadron, Char, Crowe.

The Spirit of Triumph is still in the asteroid belt.

>>21528569
Our ships are on a war-footing because we are still fighting reality distortions down on the ground, you dolt.

>>21528589
That 'panic button' doesn't do jack shit since it takes time to charge up and charging it up will be seen as us running away from the mess on the ground and making it clear that we're not here to help.

>Read the title line.

The image of a dark haired man in a military uniform shimmers onscreen.

"Attention all forces currently operating in this plane. We are the Twenty Second Vanguard Force of the Great Crusade. We have arrived to pass judgment on the false god known as Chaosbringer, cast down those who served him willingly, and raise up those whose lives were destroyed by his madness. We will also judge accomplices and tertiary parties as needed. Identify yourselves now and state your purpose for being in a warzone."
>>
>>21528620

Oh good. This should be easy to applease.

I'll leave the diplomancing to others more adept at words.
>>
>>21528620
Do we say we already arrived a while ago and passed judgement on the false god?
>>
>>21528620
We are Taskforce 38. We just passed judgment on Chaosbringer and are preparing to repair the damage he did to this world.

My name is Codeki and I am one of the Command Crew of the vessel the Oncoming Storm.
>>
>>21528620
"This is Task Force 38, and we were engaged in hostilities with Chaosbringer and his forces. We have just finished our battle with him, and are currently still engaged with remnants of his military and in the process of attempting rescue of those who were able to break his control and wished to defect.
"We would like to be able to complete our current combat operations and rescue attempts before we discuss this further. Is this agreeable to you?"
>>
>>21528655
Task Force 38 of the Transpace Guard. The /loyalist/ faction, not those Black Ops fuckers who shot you.
>>
>>21528620
"We are Task Force 38, currently gone rogue from the Transpace Guard after their infiltration and corruption from the rogue AI known as SHODAN, and the unwarranted attacks on... well, you.
We have currently destroyed the false god known as Chaosbringer, are in the process of casting down those who served him willingly, but... have reached a bit of an impasse on raising up those whose lives were destroyed by his madness."
>>
>>21528683
Lets not say that.
What happened to acting casual man!?
>>
>>21528620
"Twenty Second Vanguard Force of the Great Crusade, we are Taskforce 28 of the Transpace Guard. We are operating in this plane on a mission quite similar to yours, which we are in the midst of completing. Chaosbringer is dead, his forces are in disarray, and our own soldiers are currently engaged in combat with remaining resistance as well as rescuing particular individuals. Please, do not fire upon us or otherwise engage us. We do not wish you harm and would prefer to work with you to fix the damage caused by Chaosbringer. However, we ask that you not act until we've sorted out remaining operations on the planet and secured our troops, as well as worked out how best to coordinate with your own. Please respond when ready."
>>
>>21528689
Damnit, no, we're not the ones who went rogue, and you're basically painting the entirety of the Transpace Guard as having been suborned rather than just Black Ops.
You're making the situation worse, not better, by saying that!
>>
>>21528689
We have not gone rogue. They did.
>>21528683

*Damnit, Taskforce 38.

Also: "In addition, please note that our forces were not at all affiliated with, nor were we complacent or responsible for, the attack by TG Black Ops on your organization."
>>
>>21528620
"Fuck Yes! Some help. Ok we are task force 13 and are currently assaulting the remaining hold outs of the Chaosbringer's power on this world and recovering operations for forces lost in the fight. Right now we have the location of the Chaosbringer's daughter and where organizing an attack group to take her down. Also do any of you have accese to a large supply of diamonds? We lost some troop that we would like to resurrect.

I think the best we can do is to be honest and hope they don't ask any hard questions before we can establish good guy cred. Also don't mention the Transpace Guard till they ask.

It's just a matter of semantics. The corrupted Black Ops are running the show now, and have been behind the scenes for quite some time now.
Even if we're following the original directive of the Transpace Guard, that doesn't mean we're not rebels.
>>
>>21528730
...They're going to find out who we work are eventually, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if they already did. Do you really think they're going to like that we hid things from them?

"Twenty Second Vanguard Force of the Great Crusade, we are Taskforce 38 of the Transpace Guard. We are currently in cleanup and recovery operations after having cast judgement on Chaosbringer and have destroyed him."

>>21528777
We aren't rebels. We are a sector taskforce following the rules of the Transpace Guard. Just because our organization is in the middle of a civil war doesn't mean that we abandoned it.

We are still in the Transpace Guard, and we will fight to protect it from corrupting influences.

"State your objective here again, what your forces are, what you intend to do, and what you have already done. For now, I will deploy scouts to learn of the situation and no more."
>>
>>21528777
No they're not. The majority of the Transpace Guard did not follow Black Ops when they revealed their duplicity and attempted a coup at the Council hearing. Hence, Black Ops is the rogue faction, not us.

>>21528794
We already stated our identification, and we need a longer explanation of our affiliation than what we can spare while there's still a major divine battle going on and we have people to rescue.
>>
>>21528806
Of course we didn't.
In fact we're fighting to reinstate the status quo.
But doing so, means going against the forces who are currently in charge of the Transpace Guard and the bold new direction of pointless villainy that they have taken the organization in.
And that makes us rebels.

>>21528794
Yes but we don't have to state immediately that we are part of an organization that attacked them when they have just warped in and are all geard for a fight.

"Our objective here is the termination of Chaosbringer's regime, and if at all possible, repairing the damage that he has done to this and hundreds of other worlds and Canons.
"Our forces are this task force here, a resource collector we have in the asteroid belt, some decoy ships a light-week out from this system, and several forces down on the planet. Tsunami is helping us either contain or undo the brainwashed Washu.
"As for what we intend to do, we have two rescue operations to start, and one containment and termination mission against Chaosbringer's spawn.
"We have already killed Chaosbringer, and many of his lieutenants. Their remains are currently being held in stasis for later revival, treatment to remove their corruption, and if necessary, trial."
>>
>>21528820
We are here to fix the reality distortion.
We have killed Chaosbringer and are currently working on freeing some of his captives.
Our current forces on the ground is a group of respawing mercenaries and some powerful casters.

Yeah, we're not any happier with them than you are.
>>
>>21528820
"Our objective is the protection of the meta and the neutralization of the forces that threat it.
We have already destroyed Chaosbringer and many of his lieutenants, and our goal is to finish what we started.
After that, we hope to restore this world and then travel to every world Chaosbringer has corrupted and restore normalcy."

"Well, that's our cue. Sorry, Bruce. Time to skedaddle, as they say!" Sylph brightly says as she closes the top on a pocket watch.

"What a shame," Bruce says, shrugging. "Not even time to properly say goodbye."

"I left a letter," Regina says, walking into the small building marked "SHOP".

"Yeah, I'm sure it was real heartfelt too. What did it say, 'Returning to base. Seeya?" Bruce chuckles.

"That is all that is needed," Strider states as he too, enters the building. "Besides I am sure we'll see them again."

"What a cliche line!" Bruce complains.

"Well it's true!" Sylph says, tapping a stack of papers. "I have to drop off my orders when they come in! I have a lot of tailoring to do, it seems..."

"Are those measurements?" Bruce asks, tilting his head.

"Touch them only if you are willing to lose a hand," Regina warns.

"But do you know how much some people will pay for Lyla's... Bah. Fine," Bruce scowls.

"And off we go!" Sylph sings as she hits a hidden button in a wall. The door to the shop swings shut, the ground around it rumbles and it slowly sinks into nothing, vanishing like it was never there.
>>
Oh, and as another heads up, the men Chaosbringer killed are currently a pissed off army of spectres and wiping out most of his forces, so be careful.
>>
>>21528820
"We apologize for your misfortune at the hands of those who bring shame on our organization's name. Our objective is the destruction of Chaosbringer, the elimination of his influence on this world, and the restoration of its people and those individuals he has brought here. We have already taken down Chaosbringer himself as well as a number of his elite, and intend to kill or purify all of his corrupted soldiers. We are currently attempting rescue missions for Yami Yugi, Tenchi and Ayeka, and we are searching for Paine. Furthermore, we are assisting Tsunami in either killing or restoring Washu, and we have a team readying itself to kill Chaosbringer's daughter."

>>
>>21528820

"Also, currently you'll see that army of ghosts tearing apart Chaosbringer's army. They're the ghosts of all of the men he has killed, and are the natives of this world. Not sure on your protocols in regards to natives killing natives, but we're staying out of that, since we still have major reality distortions to deal with."
>>
>>21528820

"We have currently destroyed Chaosbringer both on the physical and the astral plane. We have dealing with those who we judged irredeemably corrupt. We have very tentative plans for restoring this world. However one of the plans involves getting either Sailor moon or chibi moon to use the silver crystal which as been corrupted into the obsidian crystal. Also your scouts are going to detect overwelming amounts of specral activity. This is due to us awaking the murdered half of the world while we were about to take down Chaosbringer."
>>
>>21528820
"It is as we've said . Restore the stability of this world back to its canon. Chaosbringer has tainted here and more as we've set about the task of repairing that damage.
For starters, we've killed him, Unmade him. We've also done away with a number of his lieutenants. The people under his control are redeemable, we've seen evidence of that, so now its only a matter of time until the Guard can mend this world. We'll allow you scouts so that you can verify our story, but we'd prefer at this time maintain a state of non-interferance purely so there isnt an issue of conflicting commands."

>>
>>21528968
Canon which is another term for dimension. Layer of the universe and all that. You know, what you jump between with your space ships.

Meta would be our term for the over-arching thing that all these layers make up.

>Give info on Chaosbringer's daughter
Blah, blah, monster. Shows info on that thing.

>Info on Tenshi
Well, there's a person trying to rescue her allies from her homeworld, but I wouldn't go after her right now. She's jinxed and technology falls apart near her.

>>21528997
They were already loose. He killed them, not us.
>>
>>21528968
>>21528997
"I miss dealing with the TSAB; it's so easy when we both know the words that the other side uses for the same things.
"By Canon, we're referring to this specific universe and its associated planes of existence, such as its own astral planes. By Meta, we are referring to everything outside of the easily contained universes.
"Can the handover wait until we're finished with combat operations? Many of our ground operatives took a serious beating, and we're still repairing other damage to our ships.
"As for the spectres, they already existed on this world before we got here. They were already in agony for the years that Chaosbringer had them wandering this world. We didn't kill them in order to raise them as an undead army."
>>
>>21528968
"Meta would effectively be synonymous with 'multiverse'. 'Canon' is a bit more difficult to describe.
Lets see here... the world that our headquarters take place in exists sort of... outside of conventional time. For many worlds, we possess the ability to see a certain key sequence of people and events, which we call the "canon" of that world.
In our experience, altering that sequence appears to produce Reality Distortions which destabilizes the world and can even affect surrounding worlds."
>>
>>21529022
Yep. We didn't RAISE an undead army. We just let them KNOW they were ALREADY an undead army.

They already wanted revenge on the Chaosbringer, they just needed the help of some outside force so they wouldn't be instantly destroyed.
>>
>>21528968
"Canon refers to a distinct group of universes, such as the Star Wars canon or the Pokemon canon. Meta refers to the entirety of these universes as a whole. I'm sorry, but may I ask why you are requesting we turn over the remains and our prisoners? We already have a potential cure for the virus that has corrupted them, and we already have some experience in its application. Our medical team would be far better suited to handle this task. As for the rescue missions, we currently have Mihoshi Kuramitsu in Washu's lab, but we lost contact with her. We were putting together a Backup Team to send in and assist. If you could lend aid in securing the lab along with Mihoshi, Tenchi, and Ayeka, we'd greatly appreciate it. Also, we've received communication from Yami that he and a woman, possibly Teia, are open to defection. However, we're having trouble pinpointing them with our sensors. There was a plan to use pattern enhancers to find them."
>>
>>21528997
"Yes. It was admittedly reckless, but at the time we had a good hunch that after destroying Chaosbringer we would be able to restore this world to normalcy, which would include making the ghosts alive, and not an uncountable horde of vengeful spirits."
>>
>>21528997
Okay, I think we need to get this guy in communication with the ghost representative of the Legions of the Damned. To show that the ghosts are natives here, they already wanted to fight back against Chaosbringer, and they and us decided to take advantage of each other's abilities to get what we both wanted; a dead Chaosbringer.

"Cheryl, sorry to call up here, but can you get in touch with the soldier that was the representative of the ghost army? I think he should talk to the commander of the GC force here before we go any further."
>>
>>21529040
>>21529022
This isn't technically correct. There were restless spirits, but they weren't awakened into full spectre-hood until your ghost circle raised them up and supercharged them.

Or do you know that already and are just spinning the facts?
>>
>>21528997
And those specters were of great aid in defeating the Chaosbringer further more they where only to attack the military presence of the Chaosbringer and or those who were fighting for him, they should be leaving noncombatants and those who flee alone.
>>
>>21529074
I kinda thought we just let them know how to fight. Not that we gave them the ability to fight.

You know, like showing a kid with a knife how to knife-fight.
>>
>>21529074
>they weren't awakened into full spectre-hood until your ghost circle raised them up and supercharged them.
Actually, no, I didn't know that part.
I just thought that we simply made them aware of their capabilities and that they COULD attack Chaosbringer's armies, not that we supercharged them any.

"We needed their help. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that they'd grow out of control like this. Our forces, however, were preoccupied with slaying Chaosbringer and his lieutenants. And after that, we had to make an assault on his fortress. We're hoping that we can reign them in once all actual threats are eliminated. After that, we believe we can use powerful magics to return the innocent to life."
>>
>>21529091
They're not out of control, you know.
After Rome, they just continued to fight against any and all enemy combatants and continued fighting against Chaosbringer's armies.

It's not our fault that civilians tend to pick up weapons and try to fight, when they should be getting to shelters or running away.
>>
>>21529091
Actually we don't know if they are out of control or not, we have been kind of busy so have haven't really checked up on them.
>>

I wonder what happens if they decided to slay the crew of the crusader fleet.
>>
>>21529107
>>21529108
We probably should have kept a better eye on the billions strong army we raised from the dead. Hindsight, we have it.
>>
>>21529108
They've actually done a lot to keep the planetary military occupied and away from us.

That would have gone poorly, especially with all of those daughters of Ryoko and Ayeka, having both Jurai and Washu-programmed abilities.
>>
>>21529112
They'll be destroyed probably.
These guys don't fuck around.
>>
>>21529073

We could tell the ghosts that Chaosbringer is dead but I doubt that would get them to stop. I suppose some of them tried to reconnect with their loved ones only to be rejected.
>>
>>21529112
Absolutely not. No way in any Hellish dimension this side of the Painkiller canons that that would work. They. Have. MILLIONS. Of starships. With who knows WHAT technology and magic. At the first sign of aggression they will REND US ASUNDER. No, we must use words. Words will save us. Words won't get us shot up.
>>
>>21529132

I dunno about that. They've been busy engaging the armed forces of this world.
>>
>>21529122
What, they were keeping the planetary military occupied along with a whole mess of powerful corrupted characters.
I mean, would you really have wanted to have to fight against a corrupted Soifon from Bleach?

They did what was asked of them, and now that most of his lieutenants and Chaosbringer are dead, we can ask them to tone it down a little.
>>
>>21529126
>>21529141

Its a though exercise for a possible tactic to use in the future. Ship crews don't normally have defences against ghost attackers.
>>
>>21529132
We could tell them that Chaosbringer is dead, and that they can tone things down now, especially since the Crusade has arrived.
For that, we need Cheryl, though.
>>
>>21529150
Indeed.

>>21529151
Okay, that's fine, but no, not right now.
>>
So, have Cheryl call the ghosts and tell them that Chaosbringer and Queen Ecstasy are dead, and that they can tone things down now, and that we'll need the representative of the ghosts to talk things out with the people that have us outnumbered a million to one.

You know, the guy is acting all surprised that we called up an army of the dead to help us fight and that we're wiping out thousands of people in this military campaign, but it's not like he would have done things any differently.

The only difference would be that the people of this world would have died in an Exterminatus-style orbital bombardment as they try to destroy Chaosbringer through force of arms.

So, the ghost army is going to be a problem in this discussion with the Great Crusade. We can't lie about it, since they've got people that can suss out the truth, probably similar to Bene Gesserit or Farseers.

How do we frame this in the context that the Great Crusade would have ended up killing the same number of people, if not more, as collateral damage, than the deaths caused by the legion of the damned?

And we're really going to need that downtime.
There's a lot of equipment that needs to be replaced, a lot of magical reagents that need to be acquired and grown.
And we've still got to try to recover Gondegal using all of the means at our disposal, try to help the Avatar recuperate, and True Resurrect White Mage Squad B.

That the ghost army has been described by MetaOP as only engaging hostile forces, not attacking civilians who were busy running away?

I think he said "anything with a weapon"?

That's a good start.
Should we get that soldier ghost that seemed to act as their representative when we first called them up, and have him in our talks with the Great Crusade as a representative of the non-corrupted (and therefore dead) natives?
>>
>>21529308

wouldn't you count that as an enemy combatant?
(wheres that screenshot of LoGH when you need it..)

You mean this?
It fits, too, since all of the people on this planet, except for like 4, are all brainwashed religious fanatics.
>>
>>21529327

Yes that. Even if they're horribly outclassed, they obviously mean you deadly harm and need to be neutralised before they endanger others.

We'll just be forwarding that image to BLU Engineer after this mission.
We'll have to send the Looters to get some Australium, but I think it's for a good cause.
>>
>>21529345

The rest of BLU will complain though. What else can we cook up for them?
>>
>>21529345
It was GOING to be a surprise.

Oh well.

What happens if we throw Cheryl into XCOM Psychic Armour?

We captured Bleach characters, right?
We've got their zanpakutou's, right?
We've got the DVD's for Bleach, right?
We let BLU Scout watch a couple seasons of Bleach, stir, wait, and receive BONKAI.
>>
>>21529368
Not much. The Psi Armor was designed to keep intruding psionic emanations out. It doesn't affect the wearer's psionic abilities.

A better question is, "What if we give Cheryl a University of Planet Psi Gun?".

I though australium was to enhance the intelligence of the users?
(How in the world is it used anyways? Do they snort Australium?)

Ah, right. We've got to give them up to the Crusade, don't we.

Could we keep Motoko's sword, though?

>>21529413
Australium is both used somehow to enhance the intelligence of people (while also making their physique improve to human-perfect and making them extremely reckless) and as an essential component of the technology produced by Australia, and hence, Engineer.
