Harvest some rabbits and get the rest to leave
The roll was...99
Wuld frantically retreats to the lake to avoid the swarm of rabbits. While he does feel somewhat silly to be running from rabbits, he does not look back. When he arrives to the lakes' edge he spots something coming out of the water 30 feet out. Inching closer it seems to be a long knife of some sort. On impulse, he grabs the impressive knife. The instant he grabs the handle of the blade, all fear leaves his heart. He knows what he must do. Encouraged by near otherworldly determination, he rallies the panicking Greymen. The tribe reunites at the lake and begins preparations to take back their lands. They charge. The ferocity of their assault is stunning! For a night ,it is a though they were not men, but great spirits. The rabbits scatter and the Greymen have taken back their home from the lapine menace. They also vowed to never speak of this again. (So you guys got expy Excalibur...that's what that 100 way back when got you by the way)

The first roll after the turn report is locked in as the result for that turn.
The results of rolls have the following effects:
100: You tell the universe to shut up and sit down
90-99: Critical success; the best result physically possible.
60-89: Success; you accomplished what you set out to do.
40-59: Neutral; you accomplished less than you hoped but made your next attempt easier(+10 to next attempt)
10-39: Failure; you did not succeed in your objective but lost only time.
2-9: Critical Failure, you failed so spectacularly that you cause harm to the tribe or make the task even harder to do( -10 to future rolls for this task on top of specific penalties)

Fire. Fire everywhere. One of the Grey came to believe that if the awesome power of fire could harnessed, it would make an unstoppable weapon. He was right. The idea had been to ignite a small projectile and then throw it in a sling of sorts. It worked.

The first roll this turn is...83
Having been saved by the lake before, the great shaman Wuld once again turned to that which appeared to be their salvation. Running to the lakes' shores, he quickly entered a trance in order to appeal to the spirits of the lake. What he found surprised him. As he began his preparations for the spirit-walk, a translucent, robed woman suddenly appeared in the centre of the lake and began to walk towards him. ''Twice now you have asked for my blessing, mortal, and twice I have granted it. If I should grant it a third time, you and your kin bust become mine." The voice of the spirit echoes the sound of rushing water.

Yes,
Wuld immediately accepts the bargain. The instant he finishes speaking he feels a rush of power fill him. He can see nothing and hears only the the sound of a mighty waterfall. Once his vision clears the spirit is gone. Instinctively, he knows how to halt the flames. He calls for the storms. Dark storm clouds assemble in the sky with ridiculous speed and announce the beginning of torrential rains. The fire is no longer a threat, but the tribe must take shelter within the ruins as the cairns provide insufficient against such powerful precipitation.

Construction, enchanted minoan complex held together by demon magic
The first roll this turn is...100

The approach of winter promised, as always, death and hunger. Unsurprisingly, the Grey found this fact rather unpleasent and unsatisfying. Hunger was realetively simple to stave off, any difficulties that occured were circumstantial rather than systemic. The cold, however, was a different matter. Every year, many of the tribe were struck down by the icy bite of winter.

Taking inspiration from the ruins around them, the tribe began construction on something not seen for many an age. A great dwelling which could house the entire tribe and protect them from all external threats. Cutting bricks of marble from ancient monuments and statuary, they began building this massive complex. At first, they tought the idea impossible as they had no idea how to hold these exotic building blocks together but they cult of flame found a solution. Reasoning that if water had a great spirit fire must have one as well, they attempted to invoke said great spirit. They missed their mark. A great demon wreathed in flame appeared in the dreams of the first among the fire cultists an informed him of a way of binding the bricks together if he and his comrades would but tell others his name: that name, was Wrath.

Therefore, the Great Grey Halls came to be held together with this gift of daemon magic. Construction was almost supernaturally fast.

Did we just bind the souls of unknown creatures to create our home? that is pretty fucking awesome.

6 - I support starting a religion system based on balance, to stop any future religion fights in our clan.

We believe water as a force of life, but too much will drown us, or freeze us. We believe Fire also to be a source of life, for the heat it brings, but again too much will burn us.

We must know that balance between those will lead us to greatness. To celebrate our new religion, we will go on a hunt for food, and sacrifice some to the flame, and some to the water.

tl;dr - found religion based on flame and water, go hunting for food. burn some food for wrath demon and drown some in lake for lake spirit.

With the emergence of two great spirits, it became immediately apparent that the followers of these great beings had to be appeased. It is in light of this judgement that it was decreed that both water an fire were the progenitors of life. Fire begins life and protects from the cold while water maintains life and shields from the heat of the flames. An so it came to be that the song of ice and fire was spoken.

The rage of winter leaves much time for contemplation. It is during these long moments of thought that of the Greys' thoughts turn to the hunt. Said hunt is slow and often dangerous, especially in winter, if one desires more than the customary rabbit. It is during the rumination of this thought that this imaginative hunters' mind turns to the flexible trees that grow in vast numbers throughout the ruins. Perhaps wood from said trees could provide a useful weapon. (+10 to developing bows)

Hunting rabbits is rather unrewarding to the growing pride of the hunters of the Grey. Despite that fact, most people still like the option of eating rabbit. Perhaps if the rabbits could be caged? A group of hunters begin building pens that they believe will suffice to hold the delicious creatures. The only thing left to do is to catch the mouth-watering lunches on legs.

Weapons technology, hunting bows
The first roll of the turn is...93+20

The great hunter of the Grey wanted the new weapons to be strong and flexible. It is with this in mind, the hunter bound strips of yew, strung with sinew and reinforced it with the horn of an antelope he had kept as a keepsake. This weapon, a composite bow would be of great use to the tribe. When he had completed his work, he prayed to the spirits to bless his work and, to his surprise, it was not on of the present guardians of the Grey who answered his call. In fact, being a hunter and less than learned in the ways of the spirits, he had no idea which spirit might have answered his call. All he knew, was the the bow he had made for himself was now silver and that whenever he drew an arrow, he could hear whispers.

You don't know how to do anything with souls other than mortar/glue. You don't choose where the soul comes from.
>>
>>21522627
time for a culture improvement then
>>
>>21522627
Than I make the mortar with a bit of fresh rabbit blood. Dammit.
>>21522663
I guess a cultural event is cool
>>
>>21522677
But it will be a failed cultural event.
>>

Actually, mixing blood in with cement would indeed make a lighter mortar. If you used cement. That is actually a real thing.

I think I'm seeing a bit of a problem with my system. How would you guys feel if the rolls came after the decision of what to do on any given turn?
>>
Rolled 99

>>21522800
So we all vote, you lock it in, and the first one after is the one we roll with?
>>
>>21522800
That would be nice.
>>
>>21522830
Yes. Choosing what you want to critically fail lowers the stakes a lot.
>>
>>21522892
That it does. I think a system change would be for the best. starting to vote depending on what we want more or what we want to fail kinda isn't as fun, and it takes more time.

Anyway, I'll be going to bed. We got an estimate on next thread?
>>
>>21522800
also does this coun't as locking in the rabitt herding, if so then >>21522830
>>
>>21522942
Actually, I'm thinking of stopping here as we've advanced a year. I'll start the next thread with the turn post. I'm thinking tomorrow at 13:30.
>>
>>21523012
what time zone?
>>
>>21523075
Eastern time. I've got work to do in the morning.
>>
>>21523092
Ok i will try to be here, good night.
>>
>>21523012
I'm glad you didn't give up at the start of the thread, everything turned out alright, I really like this campaign.

Thank you.
>>
I'm going to archive this but I'll keep the tab open for an hour or so if there's something else you think needs to be changed with the system then speak up.
