I sigh and get dressed quickly, looking at the clock. Not quite six yet, I begin cooking some Eggs and toast, opting for a simple western breakfast. After a minute, I remember Taiga and Sakura coming over, so I turn to Archer and Saber, sitting at the table. "Hey, can you guys go invisible or whatever? It'd be a lot easier than trying to explain you..."

"I can." Archer responds. "I'd rather not eat your cooking anyway. You'd probably try to poison me." With that he vanishes.

"I don't think I like him very much." I say with a sigh.

Saber laughs, and then pauses. "Shirou, I don't think I can go into a spirit form."

I sigh. "Is that a limitation of the Class, or just me being a terrible Mage?" Saber looks at me odd. "Never mind, dosen't matter. We just need a cover story for you.... You knew my father? Yeah, that'll work. You're a friend of my father's and you needed somewhere to stay for a while."

Saber looks away. "So I just say I was friends with Kiritsugu? Are you sure that's alright?"

"It's a small white lie, and I don't think he'd care if I used his name to protect someone this long after he's dead." I pause. "Can you go let Tosaka know that breakfast will be ready soon?"

Saber nods and leaves the room, while I finish poaching the eggs.Tosaka enters a few minutes later, a small yawn the only thing breaking her ladylike poise. "Shirou, you took a pretty heavy hit. Should you be up and about this early? I would've cooked if you asked."

For you... someone tried to mug you, I stepped in, took a hit and allowed you to stay here since it was closer and we didn't know where he went?"

She thinks about it. "It explains why you're hurt if they ask, give me a reason to be here, and concern for us might help deflect suspicion." She blinks. "You're VERY good at this lieing thing."

"It's a talent I just discovered this morning." I respond honestly. "Never had to before, don't like to now. But the alternative means explaining magic and the whole 'Grail War' thing, putting them in danger."

Rin sighs. "It's an inconvenient fact, but friends are a major weak-point and liability for a proper Magus."

After that grim note, I set the food on the table, Sakura and Fuji-nee entering the room a few seconds later.

"Shirou, did you see the news? Apparently someone set off a couple of bombs over near the old church on the other side of the bridge." Fuji-nee asks, as she sits at the table. Sakura hesitates when she sees Rin, but after a moment sits down as well.

"Really?" I respond, taking my seat as Saber enters the room. Sakura does a double take, while Taiga merely bids them a good morning.

Sakura and I lock eyes. "Three... two..." We count down in unison.

"WAIT." Taiga says after a moment. "Why is Tosaka here?" She asks me, before turning to Saber "And who are you?"

I sigh. "Taiga, this is Saber. Saber, this is Taiga. She's a teacher and a friend of mine and my fathers." I turn to my usual breakfast companions. "Saber's here because she knew my father, and came here needing a place to say."

Taiga blinks. "Wait, you can't just be living here alone with some girl. It isn't proper! What do you think your class-mates would say if they found out."

"Probably 'Shirou's being taken advantage of again, the selfless fool'." I respond.

Taiga hesitates. "I guess that's true but.... Shirou-" She sighs. "No, I can tell you made up your mind. If she's a friend of Kiritsugu's, then I suppose I can't complain. He'd never forgive me if I chased her off."

Fuji-nee, apparently satisfied by the answers slowly returns her attention to breakfast. Sakura however looks between Saber and Rin with concern, and seems to be eating less than usual. Somehow I don't think it's just them that's bothering her.

They leave shortly after breakfast, Taiga reminding me not to be late while the two of them head off to the archery club."

"So Shirou." Rin begins turning to me. "Are you planning to go to school today?"

Archer's style seems different than the one he used against Lancer at school. First he steps in totally relaxed, hooking his arm and the twisting the blade at a weird angle. After several thrusts like this seemingly feeling out my defenses, he switches to a series of brutal and straightforward strikes that are hard for me to block, until I realize he's doing the same thing Berserker did. The same handful of slashes so fast that it's hard to see.

But I don't need to see them to block them, I realize after the fourth strike hits me. The fifth strike I block. The Sixth I parry. The Seventh I duck under and manage to strike him in the shins as he leapt over the blade.

"Now that we've warmed up and cleared the dust out, I'm gonna stop taking it easy on you." Archer declares, as he hands me a second sword. I look to Saber, who confirms with a nods that Archer was in fact, barely trying and still kicking my ass. "Let's see how you do with two blades." He says, as he grabs a second sword for himself.

He hits me several times, and attempting to block one of his strikes I manage to almost disarm myself. Then I watch him more closely as he comes to me, the way his moves flow and twist past each other. I can't win like this, so maybe if I try and do what he does....

I manage to block all but one of his next barrage. He then smiles and drops his other sword as his feet before launching a second, ten times faster with only his one hand.

I try to step back to dodge when my guard breaks, but then as I stumble backwards I realize the he kicked his discarded weapon between my legs to trip me.

As I hit the mat, he critiques my performance. "Your stance is too forward, and too tight. You need to loosen it a little bit so you can react better. You also need to tighten your grip and work on your awareness." He sighs. "Mostly things you can improve with practice, you've already got the body for it, you just need to know how to use it properly." He continues as he walks away. "Clean up and get ready, if you hurry you might only be a little bit late for school."

I rush and prepare, cleaning up and getting dressed. As I get to the living room, Tosaka gives me a weird look. "Why the rush Shirou? We've got another ten minutes before we need to leave."

"And it just went up? Probably isn't a coincidence." I respond, trying to get the mental image of dating Rin out of my mind so I don't burn the vegetables.

"No, I think that there's another Master at the school." She responds, as I finish packing the lunches. "Hmmm? Why'd you make three?"

"I didn't have to, but I wanted to. Besides, I was already making two, it's not hard to increase the ingredients to make a third portion."

A quick talk with Saber clears that school should be safe enough during the day, and that Archer will be with us besides. Saber agrees that drawing more attention would be bad, and makes me promise to call her if something happens, either with a seal or otherwise.

Rin and I head off to school.

Relationship things are based off of basic points and triggers. It's entirely possible that you could have several women fawning over you without shooting for a Harem. Or for you to piss off everyone in a romantic sense and end up alone.

Basically you need X amount to open the potential for a relationship with someone, and a slightly higher amount to get them to go against certain aspects of their personality to be with you.

Pretty much ALL multiple relationship things require this.

For instance, Rin's now fond enough of you due to events that she wouldn't immediately reject you for asking her out. You'd need to do a bit more before a 'guaranteed' relationship thing, and a couple steps beyond that before she would be willing to maybe share you with someone else.

It's also possible to lose points for coming on too strong, too weakly, or for seeming to flirt with someone else if their 'relationship bar' isn't high enough.

If they want you hard enough, they WILL proposition you, whether you're in a relationship and/or the other girl(s) is cool with it.

Beyond that, you are receiving exactly zero spoilers, ever. At least as far as relationships go.

I turn and see Souichirou-sensei standing behind me. Apparently he didn't see Rin go down the stairs ahead of me.

Well his Noble Phantasm is the Reality Marble Unlimited Blade Works, rather than any one weapon. But no, it wouldn't give Archer away because the only reason it reveals it is that any Master worth his salt will be able to figure out who he is based on what he used. Hell, even most Servants can. But Archer doesn't have a legend to give him away, so no.
