You snap awake, your tongue still pleasantly tingling from last night's dinner and the vinefruit cider, courtesy of Quaz. Kaliel's side of the bed is empty, and you vaguely recall her waking up earlier in the night, giving you a kiss, before making her way down to her workshop. You glance out of the window, and you see Tala, both thin, one-edged blades in her hands, squaring off against Lea, blades clashing as the two become blurs. You rub your eyes, quickly get cleaned up, and ready for the day.

We might as well work a session in the meditation chamber into our daily routine. Shame we can't take spellbooks in there.
>>
>>21326599
Yeah. Let's do that.
>>
You spend some time glossing over your spellbook, refreshing your memory of your spells, before climbing into the chamber to practice.
You spend an hour or so, from your perspective, practicing your wizardry, with and without components. Eventually, you climb back out to find Grayson laying on your bed, paws folded underneath his head. He harrumphed at you.
"Jelkul returned earlier this morning." Grayson said.
>>
>>21326680
ooc I have no idea who Jelkul is.
>>
>>21326680
"Where did he go?"
>>
>>21326712
Ogrish ambassador. He basically hasn't been mentioned since he arrived with the rest of the ogres.
>>
"Where did he go?" You ask.
"I thought you'd been told- while we were east, he rode his sgragol to orcish lands, to speak with the Venerable queen about orc and ogre kind." Grayson said. "He brought back an orcish surveyor- Richter, he's called. They're searching for likely places to find ore in New Arcturus right now."
>>
>>21326755
"I remember discussing the trip with him, but I didn't know that he'd actually done it yet. That's good though, since it would have taken Richter much longer to get here otherwise."
>>
>>21326755
"Ah, he did mention he was going to do that but I wasn't aware he had actually left. I hope it went well."
>>
"I remember discussing the trip with him, but I didn't know that he'd actually left. That's good, though. I hope it went well."
"It sounds like it did." Grayson said, his eyes closing. "Apparently he and Richter have a somewhat good rapport- or they wouldn't be working together."
The feline opened his mouth in a large, wide yawn, before rolling onto his back and covering his eyes with his paws.
"I'm tired." He mumbled.
>>
>>21326903
"Did you not sleep well?"
>>
>>21326903
"Stayed up late?"
Rub his belly.
>>
"Stayed up late?" You ask, rubbing his belly. He reached out with his paws, and pulled you into another fluffy hug, and he harrumphed again.
"Talked with Zeke." Grayson said. "Ended up talking a lot. He's asleep now, I think."
>>
>>21327044
"What were you talking about?"
>>
"What were you talking about?" You ask. Grayson grinned.
"It's a surprise." He responded, lazily. He flicked his ears, and got to his feet again. "What is your plan for today?" He asked, leaning up against your leg.

"I don't think I have one. Maybe go to the Kalak Homeworld? Without all the world ending threats everything seems to be kind of slowing down considerably."

I love this quest but it seems to be turning into a zombie.

Put it down, Exa. Plots over.
>>
>>21327160
"I suppose I'll have to talk to Jelkul and Richter at some point. And I should start planning for the expedition to the kalak world."
>>
>>21327224
There's still some stuff to wrap up, and Exa's already said it's pretty much over.
>>
>>21327224
Oh he could keep it going if he wanted to. These threads are just tying up loose ends and winding things down.
>>
"I suppose I'll have to talk to Jelkul and Richter at some point... and I should start planning for the expedition to the kalak world." You say, and stretch. "Without all the world ending threats, everything seems to be kind of slowing down considerably."
"That's the nature of peace." Grayson said.

The two of you make your way down out of your room, and down, into the courtyard. there you see Sardriel and Marigold, both sitting cross-legged, focusing, as Kell stands sentinel nearby. Practicing, no doubt. Far, far to the north, you see the red flash of scales near the top of the mountain- Mala, no doubt. Finally, high in the sky, you see a sgragol, slowly coiling down to earth, ridden by Jelkul and an orc you'd never seen before, with ashen skin, and a single broken tusk.
"Your majesty!" Jelkul called, as his sgragol- Helved, you suddenly remember- finally landed, sniffing at you. "I returned from the orcish lands this morning."
>>
>>21327402
Pet the fluffy.
"I heard, how did it go?"
>>
>>21327402
"It's good to see you again, Jelkul. I heard you've brought back an orc with you?"
>>
>>21327459
Kind of rude to talk about him to somebody else when he's right there.
"It's good to see you again, Jelkul. And I presume you're Richter?" or something.
>>
You scratch at Helved's chin, and the sgragol closed his eyes, relaxing as you do so.
"I heard." you say. "It's good to see you again. How did it go?"
"It went rather well." Jelkul said. "I was able to apologize, for all my kind, toward orckind. It won't fix everything, of course... but it's a start."
"And I presume you're Richter?"
The orc leapt off of the sgragol, landing calmly, before bowing.
"I am." He said, chuckling. "Your steward sent a letter to her Venerableness, and in response, she sent me. I'm here to find whatever valuable minerals there are, here. Iron, gold, silver, bronze, maybe even mythril, if we're lucky. Technically, I'm still affiliated with their Venerablenesses, but I'll be working for New Arcturus for now."
>>
>>21327550
"It's good to have you. Being able to mine our own materials would help out a lot."
>>
"It's good to have you." You say. "Being able to mine our own materials would help out a lot."
"And with your undead workers, you don't have to worry about health hazards or cave-ins!" He said, chuckling. "Good on you. Now, I'd best go talk with the steward about some places I'm going to need to check in person, and cross-reference with his maps. Good day, your majesty."
He shrugged, and made his way toward the keep.
"I find him rather interesting." Jelkul said, as the orc spoke to the guards. "When we met, he insisted that we'd become friends."
>>
>>21327804
"He sounds interesting."
>>
>>21327804
"He certainly seems like it. You should also inform your people on the other continent that we're starting up a magical academy, when you get the chance. We already have a few teachers lined up."
>>
"He sounds interesting." You say.
"He's focused on his work, too." Jelkul responded.
"You should also inform your people on the other continent that we're starting up a magical academy, when you get the chance." You say. "We already have a few teachers lined up."
"Hm, that's interesting." the ogre said. "Our magi normally teach their apprentices by folk tales and stories, as well as personal training, but an academy... I'll tell them, for certain."
"So, about this academy." Romulus said, creeping up behind you. He was leaning on a walking stick, and you hadn't heard him approach- or heard the castle gates even opening. "You still looking for teachers?"
>>
>>21328047
"Certainly. Are you interested?"
>>
>>21328047
"Yes we are. Azariel said he was going to approach you, are you interested?"
>>
"Certainly. Are you interested?"
"I've never been interested more." He said, and shrugged. "However... I have a single, sole condition." He said. "I'll even forego pay, if you want, provided my condition is fulfilled... Selene Brewsson. Make her a student at this academy. Talk her into it, talk her brother to talk her into it, doesn't matter. As long as she gets taught wizardry."
>>
>>21328138
"What's special about her? Marigold said you were acting unusually interested."
>>
>>21328138
"What did you see in her?"
>>
"What do you see in her? What's special about her?" You ask. "Marigold said you were acting unusually interested."
"My talent doesn't tell me explicitly." He responded. "Just that she'll become a powerful wizard. More powerful than some of those kalak, even, once she's trained up a bit."
>>
>>21328260
"That would be pretty powerful. Alright, I'll try to get her to enroll."
>>
>>21328260
"Interesting. I wonder what speciality she'll take. I'll try and talk to her."
>>
"Interesting." You say. "That would be pretty powerful. Alright, I'll talk to her and try to get her to enroll."
"Very well." He said, chuckling. "I'll go speak with Azariel"
He nodded to you, and then bowed deeply, before twirling his walking stick over his shoulder. "And Sirius, I suppose. He normally wouldn't be happy with losing his magister, but he's getting married to Lady Cerulean anyway, so he won't even notice."
>>
>>21328454
"Oh? Well, if the academy is successful, there'll be plenty of magisters to go around."
>>
>>21328454
"Ooh, a wedding. I hope I'm invited."
Two provinces uniting? Political shenanigans are ahead.
Anyway, let's go find Selene. We'll need to come up with a really powerful and persuasive opening, like "Want to be a wizard?"
>>
"Oooh, a wedding. I hope I'm invited."
"Probably." He said. "Sirius has always been impressed by you. And intimidated, I guess."
He shrugged. "Ever since you saved him from that love potion, he's viewed you as a friend. And you know that the high lady's going to invite Kris, at least. But Shh, I didn't say any of this. The marriage is secret. Right, Jelkul?"
"Hm?" Jelkul said, turning to him- he'd been scratching Helved's chin some more.
"Exactly!" Romulus said. He chuckled, and made his way into the castle, no doubt to find Azariel.

In response, you look down to Grayson, and then say your farewells to the ogre and sgragol pair, leaving the castle, and making your way down to the adventuring guild, where, once again, Lewin and Selene are sitting at a table just outside, in the sun, eating a late breakfast.
"Grayson, Ishelda." Lewin said, saluting the two of you. "We have some spare. You're welcome to have some food with us. It's just jerky and some bread, nothing fit for a queen, but it's good enough, I suppose."
>>
>>21328619
"I'm also an adventurer, you know."
>>
Rolled 49

>>21328619
Make it fit for a queen. We all now have proper breakfasts. Like waffles.
>>
You take a seat, and Grayson hilariously tries to sit down in one of the seats, his tail whipping this way and that as he tried to sit on his haunches, on the chair.
"I'm also an adventurer, you know." You say, and start gnawing at the jerky, trying to soften it with your teeth.
"You are." Lewin said, and chuckled. "I've been thinking... It's funny, how you blew in like a storm, and in less than two years, you change the face of the world. You're implacable and unstoppable. In a good way, of course."
>>
>>21328745
"Selene, I was wondering...would you like to come and study at the wizarding academy we're setting up?"
>>
"Selene, I was wondering..."
"Hm?" She asked, brushing her hair out of her eyes.
"Would you like to come and study at the wizarding academy we're setting up?"
"Me? A wizard?" She giggled. "Don't people need to be born with an innate power or something to become a wizard?"
>>
>>21328874
"Everyone's got a little power, and from what we can tell, you actually have quite a bit more power than most."
>>
>>21328874
"They do, and you have been. At least, that's what a good friend tells me. I'd be honoured to have you as one of the first students and would happily provide somewhere for you to live."
>>
>>21328874
"Romulus wanted me to convince you. He sees great potential in you"
>>
"They do, and you have been." You say. "At least, that's what a good friend tells me. I'd be honoured to have you as one of the first students, and would happily provide somewhere for you to live."
"You mean... I could learn to be a wizard... wizardess?" She asked, and gave you a smile.
"I think even women are called wizards." Lewin said, but she shushed him with a glance.
"I'd love to!" She said. "It has to be better than being a barmaid, and it with hopefully less touching."
>>
>>21328969
"Well that was easy."
>>
Laugh, "Well now if anyone does touch you, you can just threaten to turn them into a toad or something."
>>
>>21328969
"Great! I will tell Gehenna to assign you a place to stay. The academy isn't functioning yet, but it shouldn't take much to have everything ready."
>>
>>21329105
She's already staying somewhere, and when the academy opens she'll board there. She doesn't Gehenna for anything.
>>
"Great!" You say, and laugh. "Well, now if anyone does touch you, you can just threaten to turn them into a toad or something."
She giggled.
"The academy isn't functioning yet, but it shouldn't take much to have everything ready."
"Erm, there's no tuition or anything, is there?" She asked, and Lewin chuckled.
"Don't worry about it, Selle." Lewin said. "I have money."
>>
>>21329137
There may be fees, but your already bring sponsored.
>>
>>21329137
"There's no tuition at the moment. It's meant to attract people to the country and train wizards. I might introduce fees once it gets popular, but paid after people graduate and get work so they're not a barrier to anybody."
>>
"There's no tuition at the moment." You say. "It's meant to attract people to the country and train wizards. I might introduce fees once it gets popular, but paid after people graduate and get work so they're not a barrier to anybody."
"Good to hear." She said, as you went back to gnawing on your jerky, while Grayson finally got seated. "But yes, I'd be glad to erm, try to learn to be a wizard. And even if I don't end up very... very good at it, I'll at least end up with a little bit of magic."
>>
>>21329302
"You might surprise yourself."
>>
>>21329302
"I wouldn't worry about that. As long as you work hard you ought to do quite well.

I'd teach you some right now but I have a secret. I'm not a very good wizard and I'm an even worse teacher."
>>
>>21329363
Yeah, I don't think we should even try to teach her. Not only are we a crap wizard but we don't know *anything* about the initial training of finding your magic and shit that everyone who's not an amazing sorceress has to go through.
>>
"I wouldn't worry about that." You say. "As long as you work hard, you ought to do quite well."
"I'm no stranger to hard work." She responded.
"I'd teach you some right now, but I have a secret." You say, and give her a little smile. "I'm not a very good wizard, and I'm an even worse teacher."
She giggled.
"I'm sure you're better than you think you are." She responded, and continued chewing.

"Hey, guildmaster." A man with a long warhammer on his shoulder said, approaching Lewin.
"Yes?" Lewin responded.
"There's a problem with some of the spiders down south. They've started acting up during the day, so me and a couple of the others are planning to see if we can take out the nest. The captain of the guard lent us a few soldiers, too, so we can go in force. Are you in?"
"Of course I am." Lewin said.
>>
>>21329488
"Sound like you've got a busy day ahead of you, Lewin."
>>
>>21329488
"Oooh can I come? Please? I promise not to use magic unless really needed?"
>>
>>21329488
"I really would make a bad teacher, even my wizardry is highly intuitive instead of being based on study. It's not something I can really pass on.

Have fun Lewin. Don't come back with any injuries, if you do I'll have to berate you over tea."

>>21329528
We still have queenly duties to take care of, we can't just go off to kill spiders.
>>
>>21329488
Can I go with you? I've not seen these spiders yet.

Examine Selene
>>
>>21329488
<She agreed to join, Romulus. It was very hard work but I finally managed to convince her that being a wizard was better than being a barmaid.>

So, there will probably be a lot of people like her who just think 'well I doubt *I* have the potential'. We need to get some sort of wizard talent scout to go out and find people and give them the pitch.
>>
>>21329488
"Don't come back with too many new scars, Lewin."
>>
"I would make a bad teacher." You say. "Even my wizardry is highly intuitive instead of being based on study. It's not something I can really pass on." You say, and turn to Lewin. "Sounds like you've got a busy day ahead of you, Lewin."
"I do." He said, and chuckled.
"Don't come back with any injuries. If you do, I'll have to berate you over tea."
"Of course." He said, and nodded, quickly donning his armor. He saluted you, and then followed the man with the warhammer.

<She agreed to join, Romulus.> You say. <It was very hard work, but I finally managed to convince her that being a wizard was better than being a barmaid.>
<We all thought being a barmaid was better than all the magic in the world, once upon a time.> Romulus responded, chuckling.

You close your eyes, and focus on Selene, honing in on her power... and you don't sense anything out of the ordinary. Her magic power, or talent, was so deep inside of her that it hadn't blossomed. You can't discern a single thing that separates her from any other non-talented people you've met. She has the capability to become a wizard, yes, but hardly as powerful as Romulus was saying.
>>
>>21329639
Either Romulus is lying or there is part of her talent that we just don't see. I guess we'll find out.

<Azariel, is there anything I could do to expedite the process of making the school?>
>>
>>21329639
Well, we don't have the creepy 'know everything' talent.
So it's just her and us now? Let's go find Belle, she wants to learn wizardry. Then we can introduce them both to Azzy.
>>
Who Dickbutt.
>>
<Azariel, is there anything I could do to expedite the process of making the school?>
<Well, we have four people who have agreed to teach- myself, Romulus, Ezekiel, and Sardriel, once Sardriel's girls are okay with it.> He responded. <I'm talking with Romulus and Zeke now, and we're hammering out a syllabus. We simply need those meditation chambers, and we need a bunch of the books Kaliel borrowed, and then, well, students, and then we can start. We could even start without the books, as long as we have those chambers.>
>>
>>21329779
<I've already got a couple of students lined up. Selene Brewsson and Quaz's sister Belle.>
>>
>>21329779
<I'll get them delivered right away. I have the first few students and will message the various provinces seeing if they have any students they want to send in exchange for political favors.>
>>
>>21329779
<I'll bring the chambers over soon, and talk with Kal about the books. As for students, Zeke and Sardriel already have me and Mar as students, and there's Selene, and Belle wants to learn. But I need to get word out and attract a proper amount. How many do you think you can take?>
>>
>>21329779
I think that it is time for a journey to the provinces, to scout for magical talents.
>>
>>21329867
Why only humans? The other countries need wizards too.
>>
>>21329883
The provinces are close. The orcs don't have much in the way of wizards, elves do their own thing magically speaking, if there are any ogres in New Arcturus that want to learn we can teach them, and we should check with the hobgoblins and lizardmen at some point.
>>
>>21329911
>elves do their own thing magically speaking
They still have wizards. Somebody needs to enchant the crystals people use.
>>
>>21329926
They already have a magical education system of some sort in place.
>>
<I'll bring the chambers over soon, and talk with Kal about the books.> You say, continuing to chew at the jerky, trying to soften it up. <As for students, Zeke and Sardriel already have me and Mar as students, and there's Selene, and Belle wants to learn. But I need to get word out and attract a proper amount. How many do you think you can take?>
<Twice as many as we have chambers, at least.> He said. <I don't want to bite off more than we can chew, so to speak, but I trust in my ability to teach. But you needn't worry about finding students. Romulus has a few ideas for how to find students in the provinces and such, and we can speak with the ambassadors to get the word out in other countries. I spoke to Vithriel on the rings, as well.>
>>
>>21329949
So does everyone else. We want them to use ours instead.
>>
>>21329962
<Okay, I'll leave it to you then.>
Let's go find Kal and the books.
>>
>>21329978
We should establish ourself a bit more before we try that though.

>>21329962
Let's start by getting the chambers there, either load them up into the Jormungandr with earth elementals or just have the elementals carry them to the tower.

Then talk to Romulus about finding students and identifying talent.
>>
>>21329962
<Then I'll leave that to you. I'll bring the chambers soon.>
>>
Who the hell wouldn't want to study in the magic academy run by a half-human half-arakatoa part dragon sorceress princess from another world who has saved the world a few times over?
>>
<Then I'll leave that to you. I'll bring the chambers soon.>
<Good to hear.> He responded, and broke off the connection. You hear Selene and Grayson talking about how it feels exactly to be a cat, as you finish your meal and excuse yourself.

You make your way back up into Sanctuary, and then down into the dungeons, and into Kaliel's workshop. There she sits, a long, wooden staff in her hand, and as she focuses, you see the wood slowly turning into iron. Behind her, stuffed into the three cells that once held her experiments, were the books you were looking for. When she notices you, she stands, and gives you a grin.
"Morning, Ishelda." She said, and pulled you into an embrace.
>>
>>21330097
We're not really running it, just sponsoring it. Azariel's running it. But who wouldn't want to boast that she was their classmate?
>>
>>21330102
"Morning, Kali. Azzy needs those books for the academy."
>>
>>21330102
"Morning! Practising your transmutation?"
"Now that he's running a school, Azariel wants his books back."
>>
>>21330102
"Morning dear. What have you been up to? Turning wood into iron?"

Give her a good morning kiss and spin her around for good measure.
>>
"Morning, dear." You say, and give her a kiss. "What have you been up to? Practicing your transmutation?"
"I can get wood into bone easily." She said, giggling as you spun her around. "If it's all organic. It's the inorganic stuff that I have trouble with."
"Now that he's running a school, Azariel wants his books back."
"Oh, does he?" She asked. "Okay. I'm going to need Lea's cloak, then, or maybe just a big crate... No, I've a better idea!"
She turned to the staff, and snapped it in half, so that one side was mostly-iron and the other side was completely wood. Taking the wood end in hand, it swelled up into a large Berecien, which stared down at her.
"Go put those books on Jormungandr." Kaliel said. The large, ogrish troll nodded, and got to work.
"There." She said, and grinned. "We can take the books there with the chambers."
>>
>>21330218
Can you make them out of any organic things? Why not use some of your hair?
>>
>>21330218
"Perfect. Thanks, Kal. Anything I can do for you while I'm down here?"
>>
>>21330218
"Nicely done.

I wish I could help but inorganic stuff, organic stuff, it's all really the same to me. Would it help if I told you that they're all pretty much the same if you look at it the right way?"
>>
>>21330218
"Have you tried the chambers out? Might help you get the hang of that transmutation."
>>
"Perfect." You say. "Thanks, Kal. Anything I can do for you while I'm down here?"
She grinned. "You can tell me how... this looks." She said, and focused.
A long, snakelike tail burst from her spine, and large, draconian wings burst from her back. Her pupils turned into slits, and her canines lengthened. She got taller, and her limbs lengthened, her heels shooting up to halfway up her legs. She stumbled a bit, and then grinned.
"There! I was bored earlier, so I made this chimeric form." She said, doing a little spin as red scales started sprouting up around her hands, legs, and finally as small horns sprung from her forehead. She grinned, exactly your height. "What do you think?"
>>
>>21330344
"It's just like mine!"

>>
>>21330344
"It's like me. You look wonderful.

Though it takes turning into a part dragon for you to be as tall as me, shorty."
>>
>>21330344
"I think you're the prettiest un-fluffy thing I've ever seen."
>>
>>21330395
You charmer. Definitely need to say this.
>>
>>21330395
That is saying this is better than her human form.
>>
>>21330436
Naw, we're talking about her in general, obviously.
>>
"I think you're the prettiest un-fluffy thing I've ever seen." You say, and pull her into a kiss. You close your eyes, and focus, as you feel wings burst from your own back, and once again, you were taller than her as your heels shot halfway up your leg, as your canines lengthen again.
She kissed you again, your tail coiling with hers. It felt like your new tongue was forked, like a snake's- and it felt like Kaliel's tongue was the same.
"I'm better than fluffy?" She asked, grinning.
>>
>>21330485
"Mmm, maybe. For a lot of things, certainly."
>>
>>21330485
"Far better than fluffy. I could give up fluffy, I couldn't give up you.

And after a kiss like that I think you might be better than tea at this point."
>>
>>21330485
"I think so. Fluffy you is still better than non-fluffy you though."
>>
"Far better than fluffy." You say. "I could give up fluffy, I couldn't give up you."
She grinned, and kissed you again, her tail pulling your hips close to hers.
"I'm glad." She said. "For what it's worth, you're better than... squiggly, even in my eyes."
A long moment later, she pulled away, eyes half-lidded.
"Much, much, much better." She said.
>>
>>21330620
"That's good to hear.

So unless you have any better plans we should probably move the chambers onto the Jormungandr. Get the school up and running."

I thought you said you were the squiggles.

Push her back onto the nearest bed-like surface.
>>

"What if I was squiggly and you were fluffy?"
Catgirl tentacle rape, that's what. Sounds like a fun evening that should definitely feature at some point.
>>
>>21330733
I don't think there'd be anything rape about it.

>>21330733
We should be squiggly and She should be fluffy.

That's what I said.

Consentacles!

I think it's called consentacle sex.
Also, consentacle doesn't rustle spellchecks jimmies.

It has exactly the right ring to it.

I just noticed these threads and it looks like I'm waaaayy too late to participate, but if this ends in lesbian magic sex then it may be worth a read through the archives.

"That's good to hear." You say. "So unless you have any better plans, we should probably move the chambers onto the Jormungandr. Get the school up and running."
"Yeah, good idea." She said. "If I can have a bit of sparks I can make enough berecien to take all the chambers up." She said. "I do think that Aeriel and that one elven woman are working up on Jormungandr right now. Maybe we could talk him into just translocating the chambers for us, maybe."

You give her a straight, even look.
".. What is it?" She asked. In response, you kiss her again
"What if... you were fluffy, and... I was squiggly?"
Her mouth gaped open for a moment, and then her face suddenly went the same deep red as her scales.
"O-okay." She said. She closed her eyes and kissed you again, and her heart started beating the tell-tale rhythm of her passion taking control... tempered with her own will.
As she pulled you down onto the pile of pillows with her, you realize that she isn't just bringing forth her passion, but...
She's using it. Not the other way around.

One of the many eyes hidden in the largest bit of mass of your body open, to see Kaliel alternate between snoring and purring. You give her a kiss, tasting her sweat with your skin, and then with five of your smaller, more dextrous limbs, you cover her with a blanket, and slither away from the pile of pillows. The berecien have moved all the books by now, and Kaliel ... she won't be waking up anytime soon. That's for certain.
>>

Take a look at ourself in a mirror. Flex our tentacles, see how we look.

All these limbs will make moving chambers easy. That was a fun distraction but we should get back to work.
>>
>>21330893
If we're something.... Sanity destroying then we should change.

If not. Let's go out like this, freak people out.

Ooo! Mar. Let's have fun with Mar. She /always/ falls for shape shifting shenanigans.
>>
Rolled 1

>>21330893
Shapeshift yourself back to human.
>>
You examine yourself in a mirror- you were a mass of writhing, scaled limbs, all pure white, with blue eyes that opened seemingly at random. With a simple flex, long, scythe-like claws shot from your larger, most powerful limbs, and you estimate that you easily have the strength to move the meditation chambers- You even estimate that you could have juggled Grayson and Kell, back when Grayson was an enormous dire bear. You make your way up into the cargo room- where a page sees you, and faints dead away. Shrugging with all thirty-six shoulders (or so you guess, your true number of limbs impossible to count), you pick up four of the chambers, slinging them onto your 'back', or 'top', whichever one would call it, and you make your way up to Jormungandr, canisters on your back.
Joy screamed.
"... What the fuck." Aeriel said. "Damnit, one of Kaliel's things got free. Or, uh, she put it to work."
He clicked his beak. "And she isn't responding on the rings. Damnit."

<Hey, Aeriel.>

Ignore them, and just move the meditation chambers.

Ahaha. Now we're stuck as a tentacle monster for ever.

>>21331022
<Hey, I'm not a thing. I'm a beautiful sorceress.>
>>
>>21331022
Wave a tentacle at them.

"HeLlO"
>>
>>21331022
<Sup.>

And continue moving meditation chambers.
>>
>>21331022
"Hey Aeriel. It's Ishelda."

I want to see what our voice sounds like.
>>
>>21331043
I like this idea. Just ignore everyone. Get ready to head over to the tower.
>>
>>21331070
>Oh god it can pilot airships
>Where the fuck is it taking us
>>

This

Just ignore them, too many questions if they know it's us.

Think of what will happen if Father finds out!
>>
You turn to them, wave a tentacle-
And then as you open your mouth to speak, a maddening, squeaking screeching warbling came from your eight burbling mouths, making absolutely no sense.
"... what." He responded. "Fine, I'll just Move this thing back to Kali's workshop."
<Hey, Aeriel. I'm not a thing, I'm a beautiful sorceress.>
He blinked. "Joy, it's fine. Ishelda's the one in this form."
You wave a tentacle at them again, and continue working. Aeriel sighs, and the two of them get back to work on the waygate- It was smaller, and covered with dark stone, almost exactly like the material that Azariel's tower was made of.
Almost half an hour later, you slide the last chamber into the cargo room, and relax, your tense body flattening like pancake batter, stretching out almost three times the size. You feel your body mold around Joy's shoes and she squeaks, taking a few steps away.
"... Ishelda, I'm positive that I don't want to know why you're in that form. And I *definitely* don't want to know how you know how to use it so well."
>>
>>21331110
<Yeah, probably not.>
>>
>>21331110
<I can use all forms perfectly now. Magic. I was just curious to see what being a squiggly thing is like.>
>>

<We needed some extra muscle to shift the chambers, and Kaliel didn't have a form prepared.>

<It's pretty awesome though.>
>>
>>21331110
<It's actually pretty fun. This stretching thing is pretty weird though.>
>>
<We needed some extra muscle to shift the chambers, and Kaliel didn't have a form prepared.> you say, and coalesce yourself, standing on your many limbs, the mass of your 'body' packing up and serving as your head and body. You open another five eyes, making sure you can see everything around you.
<It's actually pretty fun.> You say. <And I can use all forms perfectly now. Magic.>
"Er... right." Aeriel said. "Uh, mind helping me test this?"
He pushed his palm against the top of the archway, and energy blazed forth, crackling, as a portal opened up within the archway.
"Just step through."

>>
>>21331226
Let's go.
I wonder where the other end comes out.
I hope it's crowded.
>>
>>21331226
See if we can squash ourselves to a normalish size and stick a few limbs through.
>>
>>21331247
I think you mean "squiggle through"
>>
<Heh, I can't exactly step, now can I?> You ask, and skitter through the archway, lengthening yourself so that you can fit within.

Where you come out at is the dining hall, with an archway in the corner of the room. Marigold, who was holding Kristoph's hand, alone, suddenly screamed and backed away as you peek at her. Kristoph takes two steps back, and grips his sword.

Lil'bubbles, meanwhile, poured you some tea.
"Your tea, your majesty." It said, somehow recognizing you. Daintily, your pinkie-scythe extended away from the orcish teamug, you pour it on your 'back', absorbing and drinking it.
"... Ishelda?" Marigold asked.
>>
>>21331295
<Hi, Mar. I'm squiggly!>
>>
>>21331295
Wave at her. Don't say anything.
>>
>>21331295
<Sorry if I interrupted you, I was just testing out Aeriel's waygate.>
>>
>>21331295
Wave some tentacles at her.

<Hi Mar. How's it going?>
>>
You give Marigold a wave- or a wink, since the limb had a single, enormous, everstaring eye. <Hi, Mar. How's it going?>
She frowned. "You killed the mood. Now I'll never-"
"Er, uh, I meant that on the rings." She said, giving Kris a look.
Kristoph started chuckling "Never get me into bed?" He asked. "Is that what you were going to say?"
Marigold blushed, and kept her mouth stubbornly shut.
>>
>>21331386
<Of course that's what she meant. Get to it, Mar.>
Squiggle back through the portal.
>>
>>21331386
<Well I guess I'll just have so squiggle off in the other direction then.>
>>
Grab some paper, spray a bit of ink onto one of our claws, and scrawl out:
'IOU 1 CANDLELIGHT DINNER UNDER STARS'
>>
>>21331386
<Sorry! I was just testing the waygate, I didn't know you were on the other side.>
Grab them both and take them to a bedroom.
>>
>>21331386
<Ooo Mar! We can play that game we were talking about.
Kris has to save his princess from the monster.>

Envelop her with our tentacles.
>>
>>21331451
Bahahah Yes, do it.
>>
>>21331449
I like that one.
>>
>>21331451
We must mercilessly tickle her as we do this.
>>
<Sorry! I was just testing the waygate. I didn't know you were on the other side.> You say. <Well, I guess I'll just have to squiggle off in the other direction then.>
Marigold giggled, and gave one of your limbs a hug.

You turn around, and climb back through the portal, where Jay and Aeriel were waiting.
"It worked?" He asked. "I'm glad. Now we just take this thing to the tower, for Azariel. Everything's loaded up on it, right?"
>>
>>21331518
<Should be. Unless we're taking a shipment of students as well.>
>>
>>21331518
<I think so.>
To the tower!
>>
>>21331518
<We've loaded up the books and meditation chambers. You've got the waygate ready.... Anything else?>
>>
>>21331528
Nah, the school's not open yet. They can take the waygate later.
>>
>>21331518
I think we should reach through and "kidnap" Mar.
Make Kris work for it.
>>
>>21331566
It was a fun suggestion but we've left them alone again now. We don't want to ruin the mood AGAIN.
>>
<Should be.> You say, over the ring. <Unless we're taking a shipment of students as well.>
"No need." He said. "Because... of that!" He said, pointing to the waygate, proudly. "They can just use it like a portal."
He chuckled, and you reach for the control crystal, moulding *around* it, as you urge it northward, to Azariel's tower. The ship shudders, and starts going north. "Shouldn't take long, I think." Aeriel said.
>>
>>21331566
>>21331597

Yeah, I think the moment's passed.

But we defiantly need to file this away for future shenanigans.
>>
>>21331611
<Aeriel, does the gate need to be in a set location or does it work even when moving?

If it works right now even as the ship is flying then we should build one for the Joumy.>
>>
>>21331611
Relax again. Let's see how much of the deck we can fill.
>>
<Aeriel, does the gate need to be in a set location, or does it work even while moving?>
"It needs to be in a set location, and I have to reattune it every time I move it." He said.
You lay back, and relax again, your unnatural body stretching out across the deck, seeing how much you can fill, as your body melts around the stalks of the galadriel's light, the grass scratching your belly just right. You close your many eyes, tasting the sun, and you relax...

You snap awake as Aeriel steps on you, almost kicking you. You jump, and your eyes open again.
"We're here." He said. "Also, never ever do that again. Snoring abominations will give you damned nightmares."
You coalesce again, and look over the edge of the ship, seeing the massive, constant sandstorm that swirls around the inside of the crater which the tower resides within. Jormungandr eases up next to one of the windows, and Azariel manifests there.
"I see you've brought- oh my." He said, looking down at you. "Erm... Hello there."

>"Also, never ever do that again. Snoring abominations will give you damned nightmares."

<Hey! I don't snore.>

Time to find out what a tentacled abomination looks like when it tries to pout.
>>
<Hey, I don't snore!> You say, and try to pout at him. Instead, one of your mouths just start... oozing. Some of the ooze drops onto a bit of grass, and it withers, as the ooze sinks into the dirt, before drying.
<Yeah, you just gibber madness.> Aeriel responded.

"Hearuugh, Azchalieazh!" Your many mouths attempt to say, and he raises an eyebrow.
"Just... go get your ring, Azzy." Aeriel said, and the ghostly kalak nodded, a small silver ring shooting toward his hand from somewhere within the tower.
<Hello, Azariel.> You say.
"Ishelda." he said, and chuckled.

An hour later, the meditation chambers were all put in various rooms, and with an impressive bit of evocation magic, Azariel had made the books put themselves into the shelves. You make your way into Azariel's throne room, and flatten yourself, easing yourself underneath the cracks.
"Be careful." Azariel said, as you stuffed yourself underneath. You poked your limbs out from underneath the throne, and gripped it tightly as you tensed every muscle, pushing the enormous stone dais into the air. You squiggled back out of the tower and onto Jormungandr, setting the throne down there and squiggling out from underneath it. Azariel stretched, cracking his ghostly neck as he did so. "Well, that's that, I believe."
>>
>>21331888
<Yep. See you later, Azzy.>
>>
>>21331888
<That seems to be that.>

<Kaliel seems to have learned to control her Passion.>
>>
>>21331888
Okay, NOW transform back into a human.
"Ah, now I don't need the extra muscles. Sorry for freaking everyone out like that, this was the only form Kaliel had on hand strong enough to move everything easily."
>>
<Have you figured out how to observe the meditation chambers?>
>>
>>21331888
<Azariel, do you have any idea what I am? Because I don't. I've seen squiggly things in Kaliel's dreams and passions, and... There was a massive Something, drowning out the stars, in the Outside where Ragnarok had a pocket. But I'm not sure exactly what they are, only that they don't seem to have a set, reasonable form. I should really ask Kal more one of these days.>
>>
>>21331888
<Good. Figured out anything about the chambers yet?>
>>
>>21331937
We still need to get the throne from the ship to the vault. Why do you want to not be a squiggly thing, anyway? Squiggly things are the future.
>>
>>21331937
You know we still need to unload the throne on the other end right?
>>
You stretch, real quick, large scythes bursting from every one of your limbs, and then you stand up, once again in human form.
"That seems to be that." You say. "Have you figured out anythign about the chambers yet?" You ask.
"I have." He said. "Outsiders can view inwards, with the right divination spell, and actually, it's possible to... connect two or more chambers together. That means that two students could have a competition, or an experienced wizard could show a student how to cast a certain spell by example, and quite a few things." He said.
"And... Kaliel seems to have learned to control her Passion."
"You can never quite control your passion." He responded. "You can call upon it, if you're very good, and if you're even better, you can force it away, but you can never quite control it."
>>
>>21331977
<Trust me, she was pretty well in control.>
>>
>>21331977

"Something is only impossible until the first person figures out how to do it.

She had control."
>>
"Something is only impossible until the first person figures out how to do it." You say. "She had control."
Azariel took a step back... and then looked thoughtfully at the ground.
"That would imply... mastery." He said. "True mastery. The more you know of the discipline, the more powerful the passion and the more control you have over it. If she can control it, then that means she knows more than the discipline knows about itself, which is preposterous."
>>
>>21332061
"It is a new discipline. Now that she's overtaken Mala she's doing things with it that have never been done before."
>>
>>21332061
Shrug
"Maybe she does. She figured out immortality, and that squiggly form was really, really easy for her to do."
>>
>>21332061
"Her eyes were the normal amber, but ringed with red. She had perfect clarity in herself and in her magic. I've never seen anything like it amongst the other Kalak's passions."
>>
>>21332061
"Well, she's been learning from an old hand at it, maybe she does."
>>
"Maybe she does." You say. "She figured out immortality. She had perfect clarity in herself and in her magic. She's doing things with it that have never been done before. I've never seen anything like it, amongst the other Kalak's passions."
"... If you say so, I will believe you." Azariel said, finally, as Aeriel and Jay came up the stairs to your level of the tower, having been on the ground floor, setting up the waygate.
"I'll keep an eye on her." He said. "This bears investigation."
>>
>>21332138
"You could just ask her about it. I'm sure she'd tell you anything you wanted to ask."
>>
>>21332138
"Well, I'll leave you to get set up. I look forward to the opening."
>>
>>21332138
"Which spell lets you look into the chambers? And how do you link them together?"
>>
"You could just ask her about it." You say. "I'm sure she'd tell you anything you wanted to ask."
"That's what I'll do." He said.
"Which spell lets you look into the chambers? And how do you link them together?"
"This spell will connect them." He said, holding out a scroll. You examine it- it's enchantment, and ironically, you have a feeling that you'll need to practice the spell inside the chamber to get it right. "And this second one will let you see into the chambers. It's divination, and it's not easy, so most young people won't be capable of using it."
>>
>>21332303
"Luckily, I count as really old for the purposes of magic, so this one won't be a problem."
>>
>>21332303
"That's good. Being a kalak you may not have realised it could be a problem, but you are naked in there. Don't want students spying on each other."
>>
>>21332345
I think you can have clothes on when you enter it.
>>
>>21332374
Sure, but they didn't seem to show up while we were in there.
>>
>>21332374
Yes but in the mental landscape thing you don't have any physical items at all.
>>
"That's good." You say. "Being a kalak, you may not have realized it could be a problem, but you are naked in there. Don't want students spying on eachother."
He chuckled. "That might be a problem." He said, after a moment. "I think I can modify the connection spell to fix that."
He pulled open his own scroll, and examined it. "Yes, I can do so rather easily. Just don't let that version of the spell leave your hands."
He shrugged, and started walking into the tower again, hunched over the scroll, thinking.

"So, you ready to head back?" Aeriel said. "We can send Jormungandr back, and then hop off before it starts moving, and take the waygate."
>>
>>21332431
"Let's do that, then."
Clearly the naked link is for Kali and us only.
>>
>>21332454
In fact, do we have any spare chambers? I'd like to go reality diving with Kaliel.
>>
>>21332431
"Then who will fly the ship?"
>>
>>21332478
We have one in our room and Lea has one.

We could borrow it for a few minutes.

Or we could just visit the tower and use those ones.
>>
>>21332431
Haha, what's he doing to the spell? The divination now sees big black censor bars or something?
"Sounds like a good idea."

>>21332478
She's asleep. We can come back any time through the waygate now and use these chambers.

>>21332489
It flies itself once you've put in a destination.
>>
>>21332478
We have two back at the castle. One in our room, and the other for Lea to use. I'm sure she wouldn't care if Kali used hers for a little while.
>>
"Let's do that, then." You say. You focus the ship's compass onto the tower, as usual, and touch the control crystal, urging it south. The ship shuddered, and you leapt off at the last moment, as the ship started flying south, without you.
The three of you made your way down the spiral stairs, eventually reaching the waygate. Aeriel simply walked into it- the portal opened around him as he walked in, and closed behind him. Jay followed, and you did, too, ending up in the dining hall again.
"Well, I'm going to go take a nap." Aeriel said, stretching. "I may not need to sleep, but I still get tired. See you."
"Hey, can you send me... up?" Jay asked.
"Yeah, sure." Aeriel said, and waved his arm. Jay vanished. "Night. Ishelda. Er, afternoon, I mean."
>>
>>21332563
<Night Aeriel.>

Let's find Lea, and ask if we can borrow her chamber and link it with ours and see what her magic looks like.
>>
>>21332563
"Have a good… whatever you do now, Aeriel."

Let's get back to cuddling with Kali.
>>
>>21332563
We need to build that tower. We should go see Gehenna about it.
>>
>>21332621
This is a great idea, let's give Kaliel the ooziest, closest hug she's ever had.
>>
>>21332654
Exactly!
>>
"Have a good... whatever you do now, Aeriel."
"I will." He said. "And it isn't sleep, exactly. Feels more like... drifting. Oh well."
He shrugged, and vanished.
You make your way back down to Kaliel, and curl down next to her, when she suddenly wrapped her legs around you, clinging to you tightly, her claws peircing your back as she pulled you into the tightest embrace you've ever been a part of, as she kissed you. When you finally get your breath back, she opened her eyes.
"Morning." She said, sheathing her claws again. She stretched, and yawned, making a strange 'nya~' noise as she did so, before rubbing at her eyes. "... I'm not entirely sure what happened, but the books are gone. Did you take it all to the tower?"
>>
>>21332654
But someone decided we should not be oozy any more...
>>
>>21332681
Squark at her.

"I did, I moved all the books, the chambers and the Throne is on it's way back."
>>
>>21332681
"Yep. I scared a few people with the squiggly form too."
>>
>>21332681
"Yes, I did, and the waygate is set up now. That squiggly form is great, I could carry four chambers at once."
>>
"I did. I moved all the books, the chambers, and the throne is on it's way back. The waygate is set up now, as well. I even scared a few people with the squiggly form, too."
"I don't see how the squiggly form would be scary." She said, her cheeks going pink. She kissed you again, and then got to her feet, leaning on you, before she stretched again.
She met your eyes for a moment... and considered to be thinking about something.

"... Ishelda." She said, feline eyes meeting yours. "My Ishelda. Do you... want to go somewhere? A vacation, just the two of us? To the kalak homeworld, maybe?"

>Wat say?
>>
>>21332790
I did offer the other Kalak a chance to come with us. But I think I deserve an extended vacation.

When do we leave?

"But before that, there's something I want to try out." You say. "But we'll need to borrow Lea's meditation chamber for a few minutes to do it."
"Oh? You want to see if two of us can fit in one of them at a time, or something?" She asked, still leaning into you. "Or did you figure out how to connect two of them together?"
>>
Uhh...didn't Azariel mention speaking with Kal's father in the afterlife?
>>
>>21332925
Azariel gave me a fancy spell to do just that.
>>
>>21332925
"Azzy figured out how to link them. But both of us being in the same one might be fun too."
>>
"Actually Azariel figured it out." hand her the spell page.
>>
"Azzy figured out how to link them." You say, holding out the spell scroll. "But both of us being in the same one might be fun too." You say. She giggled again.
"Well, let's go ask her then." She said. "I... might need a bit of help walking. I'm still sore, but that's no problem."
She closed her eyes, and was once again human, stretching again.
"There, that's better." She said.

The two of you end up in Lea's bedroom, as she lays back, carefully examining the enormous kalak sword.
"Ishelda, Kaliel." Lea said.
>>
>>21332979
"Hey Lea, we were hoping to borrow your meditation chamber for a few minutes. Azariel figured out how to link them!"
>>
>>21332979
"Hey, Lea. Can we borrow your meditation chamber for a few minutes?"
>>
>>21332887
No they didn't. All Ego's demons died with Ego. There are still 14 archdemons and their armies unaccounted for.
>>
>>21333040
Their sanity has been returned. Most of them have an hero'd or otherwise aren't threats.
>>
>>21333040
>Note that you've killed two archdemons now, if you count the one you killed while saving Kyvann, and Elizabeth\Intuition spent hundreds of years hunting down archdemons.

"Hey, Lea, can we borrow your meditation chamber for a few minutes?" You ask. Lea gave you two a smile.
"Because the other ones are at the tower, and Azariel figured out how to link them." Keliel said, nodding to the spell scroll.
"Go ahead." Lea said. "I don't mind at all."

You looked down to the scroll, and started to focus on the chamber... but nothing seemed to happen. You simply can't focus enough on the enchantment spell to bring it into reality- that was the biggest problem with those sorts of spells, that they don't have any components.
"Having trouble?" Lea asked. "Here, hand it to me."
You give her the scroll, and she examines it for a moment, and focuses on the chamber. It blazed into light for a moment.
"Looks like I need to use it on the other chamber next." She said. Kaliel climbed into the one in Lea's room, but left the door open.

You make your own way down to your own room, not far from Lea's. You and your sister enter the room, and she focuses on the second chamber. It blazes, for a moment, and then you feel a strange connection burst into existence, similar to the communication rings. Lea set the scroll down on your bed. "There you go." She said. "Now I'll go see if I can get Tala out of the smithy. Have... fun, whatever sort of shenanigans you're planning."
>>
>>21333071
Daedalus said they were all mass-murderers *before* they went insane. I don't see why they'd stop just because they're sane again. Some of them will have an-hero'd, some of them will have been killed by other people, but we don't know which one invaded the kalak world and he/she could still be there causing trouble.
>>
>>21333084
"Thanks, Lea. You too."
Then shut the door.
>>
>>21333084
It's not shenanigans! It's magical investigations. If you like, You and I could do this later.
>>
"Thanks, Lea. You too." You say, and close the chamber.

Something humms, and then, once again, you were standing on that strange stone, completely nude. Around you swirled red and blue energy, but the strange, purple background was gone, though those white lines crawled across the air behind you.

And in front of you, Kaliel hovered, in the distance, standing on nothing. Yellow and red energy swirled around her, like your own red and blue, and behind her there was something... pure black, and writhing, visible even despite the perfect darkness of the abyss surrounding the two of you and your respective domains.

<Hey.> She said, waving. She didn't seem to have a ring, so it must be the chambers that are doing it.
>>
>Note that you've killed two archdemons now, if you count the one you killed while saving Kyvann, and Elizabeth\Intuition spent hundreds of years hunting down archdemons.
I deducted those two already. Daedalus said 16 archdemons IIRC. The other 14 are unaccounted for because we don't know how many have been killed.

<Hey. Is that your passion back there?> You ask. She whirls around, and then nods.
<I... think so.> She said, and drifted toward you, more easily visible. You drift toward her, and pull her into a hug, but your arms go right through hers, as if she doesn't exist. <Aww.> She said, frowning, as she tried to give you a squeeze. <I guess these chambers don't let you touch eachother.>
<Look how amazing and inefficient my sorcery is!> You cry, and bring forth your magic. Bright, silver streams of energy burst from the stone beneath you, weaving into a beautifully complex, ticking and swirling spell, perfectly symmetrical. The spell completes, and you have a sphere of light in your palm.
Kaliel giggles. <That looks pretty inefficient, alright. But it's very amazing.>

>>
<It's different every time I try to use it, too.> You say. <Try using your passion for something.>
<Er, okay.> She said. She closed her eyes... and the red and yellow started fusing, blazing with power, bolts of amber electricity shooting from color to color... and the writhing darkness started getting closer, and closer, as if coming out of the mist.

Staring up... and around you, and behind you, hundreds of thousands of tentacles, writhing, scaled, pulsing... monsters start appearing, descending out of the fog. With a creeping horror, you realize that they aren't multiple creatures.
There's just one of them.
Snapping snake-mouths start hissing wildly, opening their jaws as if to eat you, venom dripping from their teeth, as billions of eyes simultaneously open, staring at you and Kaliel like a many-starred sky.
The largest, most massive head suddenly roars down, three eyes on one side of it's head, two gaping maws on the other, as it shoots toward Kaliel... and amber light shoots out at it, blinding it, before shooting at it, and the rest of the limbs surrounding you and her, binding it like spiderwebs. The writhing limbs try to struggle out, but it simply entangles itself.
Spitting and furious at Kaliel, the largest head starts growling at her, still struggling futily.
<So, what should I do with my passion?> She asked, patting the Thing's largest head, as it's teeth started buzzing, swirling around it's dual maws, like some sort of enchanted, circular woodsaw.
>>

<...Wow. Hello, passion thing.> You ask. <I can look past his appearance, but he's terribly ornery. How do you keep it in line?>
<I just do this.> She said. <And then I release it when it's time to cast, and it does the casting for me. At least, until lately.>
<Hmm... try making a plant of some sort.>
<Okay, let me just...>

She closed her eyes, and you see small marks appear around her head, identical to the ones she's always marked on paper to design a creature, and then she pried open a closed eye on one of the nearby... limbs. The eye read the runes, and then they vanished. She patted the creature's head once again. The limbs all went... perfectly, utterly still... and you see the creature's bones start to glow red, and suddenly, each eye... you have the feeling that it isn't some ornery, hungry creature, but Kaliel, looking through those eyes.

She was controlling it. You were certain.

The largest head coughed out a thick glob of transparent material, and you see different 'limbs' show up, putting different leaves, and stocks, and buds and roots into the glob. Finally, the amber spiderwebs vanish, and the black limbs of Kaliel's passion suddenly shoots away, retreating, leaving the glob. She watches it as the green glob dissolves, revealing a single, purple and white flower.

<There.> She said, giving it a kiss. She huffed, and then blew it at you, where it drifted. <Every queen needs to get flowers from their lover, according to Marigold, so I made this for you.>

<I know.> She said, floating toward you.

You close your eyes, and silver lines shoot from the stone, slowly shaping your magic into another deliriously complex spell... and what's left is a long, single rose, ashen gray with blood-red petals on the inside. You blow it back toward her, and it blooms, the petals spreading in her presence.
Gently, almost reverently, she reached out toward it, and gave you a big smile.
<... Okay, skip these chambers, I need to go give you a kiss.> She said. <I love you. So much.>

<Um, I don't actually know how to get out.> You say, and reach for her, your hands hovering over hers. You lick your lips, and slowly close your eyes, reaching for your sorcery, to try to cast a spell to allow the two of you to touch.

Instead, the stone beneath your feet- the object holding your sorcery- crumbles beneath you, vanishing below your feet. The red and blue energies surrounding you dissolve as well, melting into nothingness, and there was nothing left of your domain.
Hovering there, perfectly stationary, you feel something inside of you... break loose. Electricity shoots through your limbs. Kaliel's eyes widen, as instead of runes, or instead of spells, or shapes, or anything signifying order, something purple bursts from you, your back arched, spears of twisting, coiling light dancing along your fingertips. Eyes wide, you look back... and the great, purple nebula, the only thing in the abyss...

It doesn't cast a spell. You feel no magic, no spells in effect, nothing but the great light in front of you and Kaliel.
Instead, without magic, it... warps reality. You feel it changing.

Next thing you know, Kaliel's arm was wrapped around your hip, and she gave you a long, deep kiss.
>>
>>21334096
"Magic." Kiss her.
>>
>>21334096
"Well that was interesting. I cast one of *those* spells."

"Magic." you say.
Kaliel grins, and looks at the great, violet nebula.
"No it wasn't." She said. "It isn't. I felt it. It wasn't a spell. Even your sorcery has to pretend to be a spell, with the whole silver light thing, and rediculously complex orders that obey magical laws, and science, and... "
She shook her head.
"You're wrong, Ishelda." She said, and kissed you again. "That wasn't magic. That was something... else."
>>
>>21334253
"Yes, but I don't have a word for it, so...

"Yes, but I don't have a word for it, so..." You say. "It's the kind of thing that just makes artifacts from nothing."
"You do have a word for it." Kaliel said. "The gearworks called his fate changing thing 'rewriting', right?" She asked. "Then you can just call it... writing. Writing reality itse-"
She squeaked as you gave her fanny a squeeze, and then she started giggling.

Some time later, you were once again in the closed, inactive chamber. You pushed it open, and made your way out into the hallway, to go see Lea's room, and you see Tala there, hand frozen in front of her door.
"Erm, uh, there's nobody in there." She said, lying badly when she noticed you, alternating between pale and blushing. "N-not Kaliel at all."
>>
>>21334380

Or Kal was shlicking when she walked in.

"Ohoh." You say, and make to enter the room, when Tala dove in the way.
"Well, uh, Lea's feeling under the weather right now, and so nobody should-"
Kaliel opened the door from the other side.
Tala looked from you to Kaliel, and then she gaped.. and looked into Lea's room.
"... She's not in there? But I- I heard moaning, and- Nevermind!"
She paled again, and ran off.
Kaliel started giggling, and gave you another kiss.

"Seems you were a bit loud." You say. "I wonder what she thought was going on."
"Well, she heard me while we were in the chambers, so she probably assumed that, well, Lea was here too." Kaliel said. "And then I think she tried to protect me. Or Lea."

I think we should have Aeriel send us back to my mothers world. Then we should have a look at the tower.

If the tower was only a one way door then it wouldn't be all that useful. There must be a way to open it from the other side.

That way we can visit the Kalak world ourselves, without bringing Aeriel along for the portal."

"R-right now, but I have to say goodbye to everyone... and Azariel can't set up the Academy himself, and... and..."
You look at Kaliel, and her pout seems to make her eyes shine.
"... Let's get ourselves there." You say, and she kisses you again. You close your eyes, and focus...
Soon, the portal burst into existence, and you can faintly make out the other side.
<Kaliel's kidnapping me!> you cry. <Don't trash the kingdom while I'm gone!>
<As always, Arcturus will wait for you.> Marigold said. <I hope you have fun, wherever you're going!>

You tighten your grip around Kaliel, and take a step through the portal. Next, you were staring, once again, at the Arakoatoan night sky, the sphere of liquid hovering in front of you. In it... was an endless, numberless, teeming amount of worlds.
"... Ishelda." Kaliel said. "... Do we *have* to go to the kalak world?"
She raised a hand, hovering it over the surface of the sphere. "Couldn't we go... somewhere else?"

"... Everywhere." She said, and tightened her grip on you, before plunging her hand into the liquid. Next you knew...

You were falling. Falling through a lack of colors, a tunnel made of un-greens, un-blues, un-reds, pulled this way and that. Kaliel gripped you more tightly by your side, and you swear you can feel yourself growing and shrinking.

Far, far below you, you see a small wisp of light- something you and Kaliel were rapidly traveling towards...
And then you landed, beneath a bright violet sky, with a single, pure blue sun, with an enormous ring surrounding it.
You've been here before, with her, in a dream... Before you and Kaliel lay a field of broken towers... but high in the sky, you see a single, winged figure. A kalak.

You have a feeling... that this won't be your last adventure.

Not even close.

There's smut from at least 3 separate smutfags and Exabyte himself. None of it is finished.
>>
>>21335426
The Slut Queen one is finished. And it's glorious.

Next quest... I'm not sure. I've so far decided that it will be SCOUNDREL QUEST. And I have no idea when I'm starting it. Maybe in a week, maybe in a month, and if my muse fails me... maybe never. But keep an eye on my twitter (@futureexabyte) and on the IRC (#Exabyte on Rizon) and I'll be able to keep you guys updated.

There was no way, no way at all that I could've done an epilogue. SORQ isn't fit for it. It doesn't suit it. Ten threads ago I was working on how to end it, and even *took a day off* to planning the epilogue... and then I realized there's no way an epilogue would suit this quest. The theme isn't about a self contained story. The theme is the way life goes on, even when you're uprooted from your home.
Maybe Raziel and Abel ended up having a little, half-kalak girl, with fluffy white wings and the power of sorcery. Maybe Remus was born an obsidian, raised by Romulus and Neiriel. Maybe Lea ended up with Leon. Maybe the academy changed the face of the world, even reaching the dwarves.

Maybe, finally, Vithriel got to keep one of Ishelda's feathers. Maybe.

But who knows?
>>
>>21335448
>Maybe, finally, Vithriel got to keep one of Ishelda's feathers. Maybe.
Pffft, yeah right.
>>
>>21335448
Will we ever return to Sorceress Quest canon, even if we're not Ishelda? And what about the similarly end-ended Nearfuture/Space Cyborg Quest? And will Mind Eater quest ever get a retake, in light of that whole 'herp derp understandin hoo-manz' direction I kiiiinda pushed it in?
>>
>>21335448
:((((((((((((((((

I sad man.
But I have to thank you for this.
Thank you
>>
>>21335514
This is an option, and if we do... I'll pick up right where I dropped off, as Ishelda.

>>21335515
You're welcome. This actually got really hard for me about halfway through SORQ 2, and near the start of SCQ, but I was able to get over it.
>>
>>21335448
What would have happened if we saved Azure/The Lost?
Would we have gain Space Cyborg tech?
>>
>>21335550
She would have come with no memory, but magic would... ignore her, like it does Kristoph.

But don't worry, one things' for certain- If I keep questing, the Lost will eventually be found.

Man, I should have put on my 'Lord of the 96' title.
>>
>>21335448
So is the scoundrel going to be more... normal? Or do we get another reality-fucking power?
>>
>>21335616
The scoundrel will have no supernatural abilities.
>>
>>21335259
Well I'd say that was a damn good quest, but is there anything you want feedback on?
>>
>>21335448
Welp now I gotta read this whole thing since I just jumped in at the end. Should be fun. What can I expect?
>>
>>21335707
Everything! I can never have too much negative or positive feedback.
>>
>>21335747
Magic.
>>
>>21335259
You know, I almost feel like we've forgotten to do something.
>>
Did you plan on the classic sue archetype? (half demon, dragon ancestry, reality bending powers, female, blonde)
Not meant as attack, just noticing it.
>>
>>21335781
Actually, no. I abused retroactive continuity a bit too much. Actually, *way* too much.
>>
>>21335781

Magical Girl-on-Girl Love?

I'll be honest that's the first thing that caught my eye here but I like high fantasy in general so I'll definitely read the whole thing anyway.
>>
>>21335749
Well I can't really think of anything in particular to say at the moment, I was just wondering if there was anything specifically you wanted to talk about because now's the time to do it.
After SCQ the was a discussion about characters but I think the characters were mostly good in SORQ.
>>
>>21335795
As someone who's been here from the beginning- ever since Nearfuture Cyborg Quest- I'd have to agree, Exabyte. Is sneaky retconning your fetish or something?
>>
>>21335825
Actually for the first 40 threads, pre-timeskip, I disallowed any romantic waifuing or whatever since the main character was rather young. Just something to keep in mind.

>>21335838
Yes, yes it is! I am so hard right now! I've been hard for half a year, constantly.

Actually though it's a side-effect of not putting enough thought into my settings and so when it comes time that 'what happened before X' is important, I throw a few references or something in there, usually on the spot.
>>
>>21335825
We didn't get with Kal until quite a way through. The entire first half we were to young for relationships. It's more Adventure!

>>21335781
You forgot princess. And we're not blonde, we have unique pale silver hair that nobody outside our bloodline does.
>>
>>21335857
That's fine, I was kinda hoping that since you said she started off between 10-14 (I read the first thread already).

I may like reading about girl-on-girl antics in 4chan threads on the Internet but I'm still not quite into fictional underage sex yet.
>>
>>21335872
Also, fun fact- it's not always girl on girl. Kaliel shapeshifts things! I toyed with having Ishy and Kaliel both wake up male, one morning, for implications.
>>
>>21335887
I noticed the tentacle monster shapeshifting earlier. I think I can handle that.
>>
>>21335887
It's a truly stronglove that can withstand godlike beings devoting all their power to sexual deviancy.
>>
>>21335887
We shapeshift things too.
Are you implying that the gay lovers were gay lovers? Holy shit!
>>
Thanks for the quest Exabyte. I came in around quest #60 due to...reasons. It's always been a pleasure to know I had one of these to look forward to nearly every day. You could literally keep the fluffy character interactions going for another fifty threads and I'd still be reading it every day. The interactions and the dynamics was what kept me coming back, I think I'm going to go start reading the beginning of this series (Although I admit it was the non-human characters that caught my attention at first when scrolling through /tg threads, so I'm going to miss reading about all of them for the first few threads).

I look forward to whatever you start next and even more so if you ever visit this setting again.
>>
>>21335887
What's Kaliel's favorite food? Favorite colour?
>>
Thanks for the quest, Exa. Eagerly awaiting Scoundrel quest and whatever reality bending power MC will have even if you say they won't. Dickbutt kinda grew on me too.

I'm secretly glad he showed up for the last thread, it just isn't SORQ without him.
>>
>>21336129
her favorite food is Cassiel's cookies, and she likes dark reds, and yellow-greens.

Fun fact- Kaliel, 'accepted' and then rejected or cheated on, was going to go completely batshit zerg-queen-esque. Hell hath no fury like an insane, outsider-fueled woman-bird-thing scorned.
>>
>>21336159
Nice. Did you have any plans for what would have happened if we romanced our favorite angel?
>>
>>21336159
There's no way Ishelda would cheat. She's made out of pure optimism and niceness. And magic.
>>
>>21336202
Let's not forget the glowing core of inevitable vengeance, shall we?
>>
>>21336192
There would have been more rivalry between Raz and Kal (instead of none) but nothing major... unless you changed your mind. Choosing one person then going for another would have had very negative consequences (save for Leon or Grayson), due to their personalities.
>>
>>21336202
Some people associate that attitude with "free love," though.

Not me and obv society ensures most don't, but there are some. Some may interpret her optimism as naivete, and think things will just work out.

But I'm glad there was no cheating/rejection, I wouldn't have liked that
>>
>>21336221
Inevitable vengeance? I don't think she avenged anyone. She even forgave Ego, which I thought was a bit much.

>>21336245
Maybe she would go for free love but above all she wouldn't want to hurt Kal. Or anyone, really. I definitely can't see cheating.
She is a bit naive. Well, is it naivete to think that everything will just work out when it always does work out in the end?
>>
>>21336317
Well, it may have been naive to think she could cheat on her lover and have it all just work out okay in the end.
>>
>>21336412
Oh, yeah she's not that naive.
>>
Well, rip.
I'm going to miss you SORQ
>>

Everyone is. Except Oleg.
Hey Oleg, no more voices in your head!

"Epilogue: Oleg eventually ended up having an entire harem that dwarfed even Sardriel's, and without using his mind magic. He also eventually unlocked immense power that even dwarfed sorcer-"
"What are you babbling about, oleg?" A man said.
"... Nothing."

Sorry Oleg, it doesn't work like that.

Sadly, they're all ogrish, attracted to oleg because of his latent seer powers- not that they understand *why* they're interested in him, due to the 'cassandra effect' his talent has.
