Last time on Mobile X Destiny, Anon-kun and friends fled the arcade as the remnants of the storm broke, unleashing a torrent of rain upon them. Once everyone found themselves back at Anon's house, the girls changed into dry clothes (of Anon's) and everyone lounged around in the living room, where Anon started toying with Roslyn. Following that, the girls decided to make lunch for Anon-kun, and Roslyn made burgers with diced bacon mixed in. The rest of the day was spent watching movies together and ultimately achieving maximum relaxation. Tadashi came by once school was out and was rather cool about Roslyn skipping class that day, and promptly vanished. At the end of the day, Anon was left alone with Miyuki, who was grateful for all he had done for her, and reading the mood, Anon-kun gave her a gentle kiss, to which she responded in earnest. The girl then fell asleep on him, and not wanting her to be uncomfortable, Anon-kun carried her upstairs to the bed, where upon her request, they slept soundlessly, side-by-side.

The night passes by soundlessly, and you wake up to the buzzing of your alarm clock. You manage to shut it off with a lazy flop of your arm, and you glance at the clock. 6:30. You sigh and stare at the ceiling. You still feel tired. You feel the blankets shift next to you, and you see Miyuki roll over towards you, her face still locked in the serenity of slumber. It feels almost like a crime to do anything to disturb her, so you slip out of bed and head to the bathroom for a bit. Once you walk back into the room, you see her still sleeping where you left her.

You grin and head downstairs, starting a light breakfast for the two of you. You hear shuffling upstairs after about twenty minutes, and you figure she's stumbling over to take a shower. You pause mid-movement, and when you hear the shower start, you nod to yourself before going back to cooking. Once you've finished breakfast and set the table, Miyuki comes downstairs, fully dressed and still looking tired. "Morning," she says with a yawn.

"Morning," you reply. You get her a glass of water and set it down in front of her at the table. "Sleep well?"

She shrugs and takes a drink. "I guess you could say that," she says. "I had some weird dreams."

"What were they about?" you ask.

"I don't really know," she says thoughtfully. "It's a bit fuzzy, but there was something about..." You see her eyes unfocus for a moment. "Oh."

"Oh?"

"I remembered part of my dream," she says quietly. You have a bad feeling about this. "I... don't really want to talk about that right now," she whispers.

You nod. You don't want to start the day off on a sour note. "Well, I made breakfast, so let's not let it go to waste," you say in attempts to steer the current topic away from it impending disaster. Miyuki regains her composure, smiles, and then starts eating. You join in, and once you finish eating, you quickly clean the dishes. "I'm going to grab a shower," you say before you slip away to your room to gather some clothes. Once you've done that, you proceed to the bathroom, shower, clean up, get dressed, and then head downstairs to see Chiyo and Miyuki both talking on the couch. "Morning," you call.

"Good morning, Anon-kun," Chiyo says brightly. "You finally ready to go?" You nod. "Well, let's get going. We were waiting on you."

The three of you walk to school, chit-chatting about the different things that went on yesterday at the arcade. The girls share a few laughs when they start talking about their endeavors to make lunch yesterday, and for the most part, you're content to sit most of the conversation out. As you're approaching the school's gates, you notice that same fancy-looking car out front.

It pulls away as the three of you near it, and you see Sora standing there, her bag over her shoulder. Her face is blank as she turns and walks into the school building. This is the first time you've ever seen Sora arrive at school. It feels kind of weird. That car, though... You remember it from yesterday as it drove down the street past your house. You realize that Sora must have been picked up from school and they drive that way to get home. It would make sense, due to the fact that you saw Tadashi around that time.

You head into the building behind Chiyo and Miyuki, and up ahead, you see Sora duck into the classroom. When you three walk in, she's already seated in her usual spot, notebook on her desk, and pen in hand. She doesn't even seem to notice you walk in.

Chiyo and Miyuki sit down in your usual area, where Sayuri is already seated. You see Roslyn there as well, but from the looks of things, she's trying to catch up on make-up work from yesterday's adventure.

You walk over toward Sora, who starts reading through her notebook when you get close. "Good morning," you say in greeting.

She looks up at you with an almost vacant look in her eyes. "Good morning," she replies mechanically. She continues reading her notebook, uninterrupted by your presence.

"Is... is everything alright?" you ask, slightly perturbed.

"Everything is fine," she says almost immediately. There's no bite to her words, except maybe the slight tone of annoyance coloring her words. It's a small, almost unnoticeable thing. You get the feeling like right now might not be the best time to talk to her.

"That's good..." You feel awkward standing where you are, so you grin stupidly. "I guess I'll talk to you later." You wander back to your seat, and you sigh. What was that about?

"Mor~ning," Sayuri says happily once you sit down. You greet her, and everything blurs together as homeroom ends and math class begins. You don't even notice when the bell for that class rings, signalling the end of math as well.

You get up and head to history, and the girls are all clustered together as usual. Sora, though, isn't in the classroom yet.

You sit down where you normally sit when Sora is in the classroom and wait for her to arrive. She's a few minutes behind, and she sits down in her seat without a word. Like clockwork, the notebook comes out followed by the pen, and she starts her routine of writing and looking profound in the process. You wonder if you should apologize for earlier, or if you should say anything at all. She doesn't seem to pay you any mind, though, so you find yourself watching the movie. Apparently you're on to a completely different movie now; you never noticed. Then again, this change might've happened yesterday, for all you know.

You hear a clatter on the floor and notice the pen between your seat and Sora's seat. "Dammit," you hear her mutter. She picks the pen up before you can react and continues working. When she suddenly rips a page out of the notebook, crumbles it up and sets it aside, you arch a brow.

You decide to keep quiet. You know Sora's social habits by now: she'll talk when she wants to talk. The classroom is quiet, save for the dialogue of the movie. You glance over at Sora, who doesn't even look at you. She stops her pen mid-movement and glances at you, meeting your gaze. "Something wrong?" she asks.

"Er..." You feel like a deer caught in headlights, unsure of what to do in this situation. "I was just wondering what's up, I guess."

"Nothing," she says. "Though I expect you'll need to pay attention to the movie."

"Eh? Why?"

"We're having a quiz over it today. We started watching it yesterday, if you recall. Oh. That's right." She glances back at her notebook. "You weren't here yesterday."

Is she mad? "I couldn't help it," you explain. "I had a situation that I had to deal with."

"A situation that involved your entire group?" she asks coldly. "I'm going to guess that you all went out to have a good time." She doesn't exactly sound angry, but there's something there in her voice that you can't quite place. "It doesn't matter."

"Two nights ago, after school, I was going to accompany Miyuki to her house, as she wanted to get some stuff. Just before we arrived, the house erupted in flames." You leave out the part about Tempest. "Her father was inside, and he was killed. She was so distraught over it all, I thought it would be a good idea to get everyone together to support her through this, so yes, we spent time together as a group to have a good time. I wanted to invite you, too, since I consider you a friend, but I didn't have your number, so I had no way of texting or calling you yesterday morning before school started."

Sora is quiet for some time after you explain it all. It's like she's letting it all sink in before she responds. "Then I should apologize," she says quietly. "I'm—" She's cut off as the lights come on in the room and the teacher starts explaining the rules of the quiz. You see her rip a small piece of paper out of her notebook, and she scribbles something down then slides it to you quickly.

"I'm sorry." Then you see something hastily written underneath that, and you make it out to be numbers. 5014-5378. It almost looks like... a mobile number? You look at her wide-eyed, but she doesn't look back at you. You quickly stow the paper into your pocket and prepare yourself for the quiz, for which you are unprepared.

You answer the quiz to the best of your ability without even considering cheating. You aren't entirely sure about a few things, but for the most part, you feel confident in your final answers. You turn it in and then the bell rings. Everyone packs up and leaves, and you go to get your stuff, Sora is already gone. You frown, but you meet up with Miyuki on the way to lab. "How'd your quiz go?" she asks reluctantly.

"I think I did well," you say. "What about you?"

"I... I froze up on it," she admits. "I couldn't answer anything." She looks pretty distraught over it this.

"It will be fine," you say. "Don't fret too much. It's only one quiz." She doesn't look too sure.

"We'll work hard in lab to make up for it, alright?" She nods, and you make good on your word. The two of you work diligently on your assignment, making sure to double check your work. Time flies by without you even realizing it, and you both manage to turn in your work. You're not the first, but you're not the last. You actually walk out with Miyuki around the same time Sora does, which strikes you as coincidental.

"I've got to go do some swim team stuff," Miyuki says. "I'll see you later, Anon-kun."

"Alright, see ya." You watch as Miyuki departs, leaving you aloee in the hallway. Not too far off, heading toward the school grounds, you see Sora. You also know, hoever, that the others will be coming out of the classroom momentarily.

On a whim, you decide to catch up to Sora. "Hey, wait up." She turns and sees you approaching, so she does as you ask and waits. Once you're next to her, the two of you start walking side-by-side. "Are you going to get lunch?" you ask.

"Yes," she says. "Are you?"

"Yeah," you reply. "I forgot to make my lunch for today." She nods, and the two of you wind up outside on the campus grounds. You see some students clustered together into groups and others off on their own. Some are eating various types of lunches, while there are others, from what you can tell, trying to do homework they probably forgot about or put off the night before.

You see a few stalls selling different types of food. Sora approaches one and you see she buys some some gyudon. You buy some curry bread and before you eat, you see her start to walk off on her own.

You decide to sit with Sora for lunch "So how are you doing?" you ask before tearing off some of the curry bread and taking a bite.

"I'm fine," she says. She's really not too good at this, is she? Or does it say more about you when in this sort of situation?

There's a silence that grows between the two of you, and you eat your bread during that time. Eventually, you look at Sora, who you find looking at you. "What is it?" you ask. "Something on my face?" She shakes her head. "Well, tell me what's on your mind."

"Is it fun?" she asks. "Spending time with everyone the way you do, I mean." So she's curious.

"Yeah," you admit. "It's fun, but it can be stressful sometimes in different ways." She gives you a quizzical look. "Well, everyone has their own issues. That's a fact of life, right? Well, sometimes you get involved with other people's issues." You shrug a bit helplessly. "So I do what I can, even if it's stressful for me."

"I see..."

"Still, though, being able to have fun is a great thing. Why do you ask, though?"

"Do you want to want to, then?" you ask. "Because I'm sure we could all do something this weekend. I'd just need to talk to them about it."

She frowns slightly as she mulls it over. "Maybe."

"Well, tell you what..." You pull out your cellphone and the slip of paper she gave you. You add Sora into your contacts and send her a quick text. "You've got my number now, and I've got yours. I can text you if we come up with something."

"Okay," she says, a bit unsure. She looks at her phone and adds you into her phone book.

"Cool." You hear the bell ring in the distance, and you sigh. "Well, I'll see you a bit later." She nods, and you both get up and head into the building.

Your time in English is spent proving yourself when the teacher calls on you to read a passage in English, and gym ends up being a cakewalk yet again. You do about fifteen laps around the gym before you do two cool-down laps, and before you know it, you're waiting for Miyuki after school when you get a text from her. 'Head on back without me. I have to do some swim team stuff for a bit.'

You shrug and head home, wondering what to do with your free time, when your phone vibrates in your pocket. You pull it out and, to your surprise, it's from Sora. You can't help but smile at the simple message on your phone's screen.

'Hi.'
