Approximately one year and eleven months ago, you were an Incubator.

The Ninth Incubator.

The Ninth out of twenty, one of the chosen few. Sent from home, plucked from a comfortable and easy existence to serve. To protect. To see that the Universe, as it was, remained intact for as long as it possibly could. Using the abilities provided to you to create contracts.

A noble endeavor. Inherently altruistic.

Completely devoid of any ulterior motive.
>>
>>21285241

The Ninth out of Twenty, and you prided yourself to be the best among them - the most efficient, the most productive, the most competent of all your brothers. Of course, that's not just the typical arrogance seemingly bred in every Incubator speaking - most of them, even the unfortunate few who have strayed, had admitted as much. They agreed that yes, the Ninth was the one most suited, the most compatible to this onerous task.

You're still not sure if they meant their assesments to be taken as a compliment or as an insult. Then again, you never really cared enough to ask. Their recognition of your superiority was enough.

That left, of course, them surrendering their contractees and territories to you. Only then would you get any actual, significant work done.

That would be the challenging part, but you're not too much in a rush about it.

You have a lot of time. Quite a lot of it, in fact.

When your superiors used descriptors such as 'half an eternity', it doesn't really help to impress upon you the urgency of the matter, does it?

You are currently in your personal office. The screen array in front of you is displaying many data feeds at once - a simple tap on the keyboard makes one of them display the time in numerical format, down to the milliseconds ticking away.

9 AM. Morning. Breakfast time.

You blink at the screen again, before involuntarily yawning - the realization that you've once again worked through the night accompanied by the slight pang of hunger scratching against your stomach.

Hunger. It's a decidedly strange sensation, you note. Back home, hunger never really was an issue. Your species was not one that needed sustenance. It was an optional thing to indulge in, easily so that it could even be considered something of a vice, really.

This assignment, of course, had given you more than enough chances to partake in it, and you had succumbed to the temptation more than you can count. This minute growling worried you slightly - a symptom of withdrawal, obviously, and one you would need to take care of unless you wanted to be distracted the entire day. And you didn't. You can't afford to be, not on a busy day like this. Not when you have an entire Officio to manage, and contracts to make.

What do you do to start off the day?

[]Call Mami Tomoe in and ask for breakfast.

We have seen societies torn apart by gaian collapse or cleansed from the face of their planets by nuclear fire. Or worse yet, torn apart by internal strife before they even had a chance to develop a stable culture They bear sad testament to the danger of unrestrained emotion and grasping beyond one's reach. We will prevent such mistakes.

But first, we must have breakfast.

>[X]Call Mami Tomoe in and ask for breakfast. However breakfast takes time to prepare, there are several other things to do with our time. Has the expiry rate of the Officio changed? All of these can be done while ordering a simple meal.

You choose to attend to this bothersome problem by calling in one of your contractees to bring you breakfast. And not just any mere contractee - this was one of your most promising and most successful of prospects, respected by all the other personnel in your own Officio, moreso than the Warmaster you yourself had appointed. Exemplar in all aspects of being a Magical Girl. A contract that most Incubators could only fantasize about making.

Glancing down on the keyboard by your feet, you reach over and press the appropriate keys. There's a whirr as the multi-screen array in front of you rearranges themselves into a large, seamless, vertically-rectangular slate - and the words SOUND ONLY manifest in the middle of the newly-formed monolith, in stark crimson lettering.

"Hello? Ah, good morning, Kyuubey-san." The contractee in question greets you, and you note with a faint hint of amusement that she still insists on appending the honorific to your name, even after you've told her time and again that it was not necessary at the slightest. "To what do I owe the pleasure of this call?"

You give her your answer, and the smile is obvious in her voice. "Of course. The usual for you, Kyuubey-san. Give me a few moments, and I'll be right up with your breakfast."

The connection is severed, and the screens rearrange themselves once more to display the feeds from earlier. Scrolling information that range from the mundane to the noteworthy.

>>21285928

>>21285928

Mami Tomoe. A blonde-haired young woman, with soft amber eyes, an aesthetically-pleasing form, and an air of quiet elegance in everything that she does. Despite her contract being made out of desperation, she had accepted and acclimatized to the onerous task of being a Magical Girl with an eagerness that rarely, if ever, manifests in fresh recruits with circumstances similar to hers.
Instead of being alarmed or regretful about the choice she'd made, she'd actually attacked the role with vigor - and her rise in the ranks as well as in your favor was nothing short of meteoric. It's no secret that you hold her in high esteem, consider her rather important to the Officio's well-being.

You were certainly...concerned when she got herself trapped in the Witch Charlotte's Nightmare. In fact, you would have probably led the rescue attempt instead of Kirika, had not the Eversor stubbornly volunteered for it.

And you were surprised to discover the reason of her plight - that being a strange Magical Girl that you have never seen before. You consulted your fellow Incubators about her, but none of them admitted to establishing her contract, nor even spotting her as a potential candidate.

An irregular in every sense of the word. She should not exist - she should not even have the scarred Shield clamped on her right arm, or the stable form of a Soul Gem affixed to the back of her hand.

And yet, there she was. After spending two weeks in the Silent Room, being interrogated by two of your top Eversors, Mami had taken it upon herself to nurse the Irregular back to health, to see what she had to say without it on pain of being skewered by elegantly-wrought swords, or impaled on a brutal trident spear.

Another oddity was that the girl had no memory of anything at all. Nothing from the long term. She didn't know who she was or where she was from - any questions trying to discover that was met with unblinking, unflinching silence. It was as if her mind had been reaved completely clean of memories, a blank slate. Not even a name.

You make a note to ask Mami Tomoe about the girl she rescued. Nothing too prying, of course - just an update on what's happened so far.

While you're not exactly superstitious, something tells you this Irregular is not at all what she intends to present herself as.

You are wondering idly if this could be cause for alarm. Incubators are not supposed to be superstitious, or believe in abstract concepts such as fortune and good luck. Doing so would simply be...well, your brothers would certainly call it something that would not translate very well to the common vernacular. They might also call you some words that are not fit for any tier of high society, or even the lowest cesspit.

IT's only after a few moments more of such rumination that Mami Tomoe steps through the doors of your office, in her freshly-transformed costume. The dark brown beret placed almost jauntily on top of her warm, soft hair, accentuating the loose drills that had been teased into meticulous shape.

A smile on her face and a tray bearing a plate of pancakes - divine-smelling creations of flour, maple syrup, milk and eggs - in her hands.

"Will that be all, Kyuubey-san?" Mami Tomoe says after placing the tray on your desk's surface. Her hands clasped behind her, ever the patient, beatific saint.

You glance down at the offered breakfast, before looking back up at her.

[]Thank her for the breakfast and dismiss her. You've work to do.
[]Don't dismiss her yet. You have questions to ask.

It was pretty good, they streamlined the plot without really taking anything out, answered a question or two, and generally touched up the animation, voicing, and music. There were a couple odd choices around the moemura flashback since they couldn't just drop you in like the show did.

It wasn't, like, a completely new experience though, in the end it was just the same story, a little prettier, in 4 hours instead of 5.5.

>>
>>21286974

Thinking about Faust, I wanted to some write something about Faust cuddling a delirious Chiaki while blaming Godoka for all the pain 'poor Homura-chan' went though but I couldn't really get the story started.

Well there is part of the conversation I came up with, perhaps it will inspire another writer.

Faust: “To her [Godoka], you’re just her best friend in an ocean of best friends. I however I love you for what you tried to do, I understand what you went through.”

Godoka: “I never… never thought that Homura-chan would grow to hate the new world.”

Faust: “That’s because thought too much for ‘other people’. You abandoned poor Homura-chan with only a few useless hair ribbons and words of friendship. She deserved much more than that.... Thinking about it, you were so evil back then. Did you enjoy standing over her broken body, ignoring her warnings and then with a smile crushing and shattering all her hopes and dreams. All for the sake of making ‘other people’ happy.”

Godoka: “I just wanted a world where everyone was happy.”

Faust: "The only person who mattered wasn't happy"
>>

>>
>>21287243
yeah no fuck that. i kind of like the idea of kicking madoka to stop trying to hard to be a witch and point out how its possible for otherwise.
>>
>>21287209

well, we will be having a long nap with an angry Faust on our back, it is possible that hostile magical girls will assault the facility to get Mirai back/kill Midori/steal Kyuubey's secrets, or they make an attack on our officio as retribution which is unlikely but still possible.

It is also entirely impossible that when we wake up it will be just like or very similar to that nightmare we had where we kill everyone and everything

I hope we can smooth things over with Faust, spending an estimated month getting tortured/killed repeatedly in a dream can't be healthy.

at this point i think SOMETHING will happen and it probably will not be good.
>>
>>21287209
You're not the only one.
I drew the plausible connection between 2 week break from the main quest and the high probability of Chiaki in a month-long coma with only Pinky for company.

Everything will probably, if it hasn't already, go to shit when we wake up.
If we wake up that is.
Wouldn't surprise me if we'll get some mindfuckery shenanigans before that.

Homura's single motivation to spit in the eye of fate itself is to because she likes Madoka. After she contracted, trying to save her friend was literally the only thing she had to live for.

You can bitch and moan about feels and waifus my friend, but this is an argument you are not going to triumph in.

I am sort or tempted to go for an ending were We tell Madoka that we have decided to bury the past, give her back her ribbons and walk away. Saying "Good luck at being the universe's unsung Martyr"

That would be the BAD+ ending.

But then again, that ending would leave a bad taste in my mouth. So screw being melodramatic, we are going to go for an ending that achieves something material.

But yea, we shouldn't be totally submissive to Faust, she is going to be upset at us either way. Remember that whole 'Breaking our heart thing.'

Well to be honest I am fresh out of ideas of what to do with Faust. We can't just yell "MADOKA!" over and over again and hope she turns back to normal. That might work in other magical girl shows put not Madoka Magica

We made her, and thus we can end her.

Okay, since we're not allowed to use facetious shorthand to describe situations anymore:

I feel that Midori, as a character, is emotionally attached to our player character in a manner which is both more irrational than that typically attributable to such, and unhealthy for reasons beyond the fact that everyone we're around suffers. As such, I believe that it would be an interesting character development if we were to act to promote introspection in her with the ultimate goal of revealing the underlying motivations behind her actions to both her and us, as I suspect that she may have given them insufficient thought.

Also, I hate you.
>>
>>21289151

Arguing that we should all shut up and jump on the train is why you are grimderp. This isn't about meta knowledge.

Kyuubey: "It's strange, isn't it, Matsuda? How this particular rock in space looks. What you're looking at isn't a planet or an asteroid - it's actually a grief seed. We found it hiding in the shadow of this planet's moon. It's invisible to everything else - NASA has yet to even discover it - but we have enough technology with us to actually see what it is."

"We believe it belongs to a Witch unlike any other. A Witch who retains her presence of mind, thought, and has untold amounts of power - to the point that we believe that she is more of a concept than an actual being. Not something you can easily kill, at that."

""We call this Witch Faust"

If something could be done about Faust's grief seed, her soul gem, Kyuubey would have done so already.

You cannot shoot bullets at Gravity to make it stop working. You cannot shoot bullets at Faust to make her die. This is what a concept means, this is why killing her is a stupid idea.

The logical path is to take what we already know about Faust, that she's more a concept than a witch, and she's way too yandere, and act on it. This means getting on her good side, so she won't pull our heart out for a third time, and then convincing her to unwitch herself. Kharn did it, she can too. At the very least, getting on her good side should get her to settle down a bit about the constant death threats to anyone in her vicinity.
>>
>>21289749

... Didn't Kharn do it by being SO MURDEROUS that her murderousness ended up overwhelming tha despair and/or suffering?

The way I see it, Faustdoka can't really be stopped by conventional means. We're either going to have to diplomance her to either move on to wherever (probably nearly impossible, and we don't really know IF there's anywhere for godlike beings to move on to), or possibly erase/end this timeline. The shield-possessed Misaka told Chiaki that she had to end this world before Faust did. The most common way to interpret this is to either trap Faustdoka in a dead universe that will serve as her eternally silent prison, or do dangerous things to the timeline to ensure that Faustdoka will never come about.

There's probably more options that don't involve destroying this world as we know it. But we'll need to know more about Faustdoka's plans to do anything about it. She did mention that she was doing "all of this" for Homura's sake; perhaps Madoka is doing all of this to save Homura?
>>
>>21290362
Barring a harem endingGOD HELP US ALL, I think that Chiaki will end up with Midori. Yes, Mami seems like a nice person, but that's it. She's just a nice person. To everyone. Everywhere.

But then again, these are the ponderings of someone who has little of waifu shenanigans.
>>
>>21290426

That, also, would be acceptable.

But this story involves both meguca and noir. This makes it doubly certain that it will end in death.
>>
>>21290441

>>
>>21290550

Oh, no. We can have our romance. It will be wonderful and bittersweet and quite probably fleeting.

Noir romances tend to end in one of two ways: Either she betrays us (for the best of reasons) resulting in our death, or she gets killed to get at us.

>>
>>21290617
The point is that's only a tendency, not an absolute.
For example, The Big Combo has the big fight at the end, but both the MC and the Girl survive.
>>
>>21290617

Hardboiled comes with the territory, but you can be hardboiled without being bloodthirsty. That's what I think the big debate is: grimderps want full-on Murderface experience, while other players want cynical, not murderous.

Bloodthirsty hardboiled noir MC: Mike Hammer
Hardboiled non-bloodthirsty noir MC: Philip Marlowe, Sam Spade
>>

Why is full-on Murderface experience a bad thing?

It's just not a tremendously interesting character to play *as*. It's fun to watch vicariously as Kharn, but from the inside, it's too one-dimensional.
>>
>>21290717

Because the blood-soaked Murderface experience is what Chiaki Matsuda USED to be. The fact that she's lost memory of that time tells me that, whatever she was/is trying to do, the Murderface approach DIDN'T work.

So: going bloodsoaked again is just making the same mistake twice.

If you'll recall from the original series, Homura's tampering with the timeline is the ENTIRE REASON why Madoka was so powerful in the first place.

If we are indeed Homura, and Pinky / Faust is indeed a corrupted Godoka, we can theoretically pull the same kind of time shenanigans to deal with her. Not to mention, if we can fix our shield, we can just go back to the beginning and nip the problem in the bud.

That doesn`t change the fact that we still don`t know what Pinky actually is. Is there a way to kill her? Is there way to stop her? And does she deserve to be "turned back" if there is a way? And if you actually approach te subject without Meta - like you should - you`ll notice that Chiaki knows even less.

Shouldn`t it be easy then provide notable examples of grimderpy things we`ve done so far? Since we apparently do them oh so often?

It also kind of mindblowing how you people manage to complain about grimderp and that killing Pinky would be badd, grr, but at the same time you seem completly unconcerned about the high bodycount of victims when it comes to megucas and humans. How exactly is disregarding all the lives that were lost through her machinations and letting her go unpunished NOT grimdark?
On that note: How was the chinesee cartton not grimdark as fuck and despite a somewhat positive ending still managed to stay pretty ambivalent if getting rid of witches was a smart move.

if you guys claim to have an opinion and standby it you really should review that opinion because right now, it doesn`t hold together, especially the "Noo, grimderps are baaaaad"-part.
>>
>>21291834
Addendum: That said, we should go for a Cross-Channel-Ending.
>>
>>21291834
It wasn't grimdark, it was bittersweet. Madoka's sacrifice didn't make the world any better, but she made the people she cared about suffer less and gave them hope. The point was never it's effect on the world, which remained basically the same.

Also, the only people we know that Faust is responsible for the deaths of is the handful of meguca she gives golden weapons to. To paraphrase - golden guns don't kill people, crazed meguca with golden guns kill people.

And on the subject of crazed meguca with golden guns, our bodycount just while we've been watching is in the triple digits, and people have been commenting on how we've massively slowed down the murdertrain.
>>
>>21292125
Fact is, the golden stuff drives Megucas batshit insane.
Fact is, the golden stuff corrupts them.

Stop being a retard, its not "Hurr, weapons dont kill people" in this case. because they CLEARLY do. They drive them insane, those insane people kill other completly innocent people.
Like Kirika who started to murder the shit out of poeple just because she can.
Like Kilgore and his carnival of huge EVISCERATE ET LACTERATE
Like Ahriman who was willing to send 100 Girls that were loyal to her death just to please Pinky.
Like Chiaki who nearly cut Midori into pieces when she tried to stop us from going bonkers.

So no, you are an idiot, and the golden stuff DOES in fact kill people. And its being

>It wasn't grimdark, it was bittersweet.
No it wasn`t. The tone of the series was all in all pretty grim. And don`t even get me started on Kazumi Magica or Oriko Magica..

Right now, for all the shit Pinky gave is there is no reason to let her live or to try and help her, any other than being meta and trying to force Homura/Madoka-Shipping into it. None.

From what I see people get called out on waifushipping because they have no arguments to rebuke that claim the counter with "NO U! U MUST LIEK GRIMDERP AND HATE FUN!" when it doesnt have anything to do with it or being noir. You tards just throw it around carelessly.

The flashbacks were grim. The show, Madoka's whole fucking shtick was how it's never wrong to have hope, and she personally bitchslapped her ideology into the fabric of creation.
She punched a sparkly pink ray of hope into time and space itself. That is not brutal.

>Like Kilgore and his carnival of huge EVISCERATE ET LACTERATE
>Like Ahriman who was willing to send 100 Girls that were loyal to her death just to please Pinky.
We still don't know how the ritual works, or how these fuckers keep learning about it, only that it has something to do with Pinky. Considering that both times we've seen it, Pinky directly lent aid to someone trying to stop it, it's worth holding back on putting those on her neck until we know more.

Even if we give Pinky credit for all of those deaths, Murderface has killed a comparable number of people without being corrupted, and every single one of them was intentional and personal.

And past that, the gold weapons are obviously bad fucking news. Mami threw hers away rather than save herself with it without even knowing what it was. Anyone who uses one is either already a psychopath like Kirika, a fool who should know better, or a desperate fool.

You don't hate the Devil for tempting Faust, you condemn Faust for his weakness in giving in to temptation.

You know, I take it back. The arguments occasionally produce gems such as this. At which point I'm laughing too hard to hate everything...
>>
>>21292637

At the end of the day, all she managed to accomplish was the removal of witches from the system by her own hands. Which still leaves the alien race turning innocent girls into litches and forcing them to fight artificial monsters to harvest their delicious magical energy. Additionally, she erased herself from the memories of everyone except Homura, who now has to live with the fact that she wasn't able to save her friend and let her lead a normal life.

And you claim this isn't grimdark?
>>
>>21292637
>You don't hate the Devil for tempting Faust, you condemn Faust for his weakness in giving in to temptation.

Actually I blame both. Why shouldn`t I hate the devil for tempting him anyway? You know, the whole Action and Reaction-Stuff..

And Chiaki and we are aware of how fucked up she is. She is perfactly aware that she doesn`t deserve any kindness and does not work well around people. She knows herself that she doesn`t deserve a happy ending and I agree with her. That`s we`ll kick Pinky`s Ass and then perish with her.

Or we will find a way to banish her in the Parallel-Dimension our Shiled crates, this time without allowing her powers to afflict the real world and stay there with her, watching over her, for all eternity. As our punishment.

Yes.

She accomplished something. If it were grimdark, she would only have delayed the inevitable. If it were grimdark, she would have tried and failed. It may have been small, and it may have required a terrible sacrifice, but she made the lives of her friends better. She let them die with hope instead of despair.

Managing to accomplish a lasting improvement that doesn't blow up in your face is fundamentally not grimdark.

That's part of why this quest is fascinating, it's what happens if it goes wrong.

Why is there this massive divide? The way people are talking, it's like there can only be an ultra-grimdark ending or some sort of Waifu-Harem 'everybody goes home happy' ending. There really isn't that much dichotomy between available courses of action.

Why don't we take a semi-realistic course of action? We attempt to become a slightly better person for those around us especially for Mami and her delicious pancakes. All while doing our best to deal with the Golden Weapons and Faust.

We don't have to kill everybody or get in their pants. We just have to act like a human being.

>>
>>21293096
Well, taking what we know in character:
1) We are a broken miserable wreck
2) We cause pain and suffering to those around us
3) We're probably going insane

Knowing this, we can go several ways. They range on a spectrum of embracing to rejecting who we are.

We can take who we are and embrace that, becoming more of a sociopathic murderer. Destroying everyone around us and possibly ourselves in the end.

We can fully reject what we are becoming, and attempt to fight back against the inevitable. Fighting against what might as well be fate itself.

And in between, we have the multitude of choices on the spectrum. Personally, I would like to see personal acceptance, and perhaps a path towards redemption. We recognize what we are, and then accept that. But we do not like it or embrace it. We do our best to try and improve our life, and the lives of others. We yield to fate, but attempt to nudge it into a slightly better course rather than stop it.
>>
>>21293185
I like the sound of "fighting fate itself."

Original flavor Homura tried that, and it made great television.
>>
>>21293185

Perhaps yield was the wrong word. I simply meant to show the difference between this option and either embracing or rejecting the path we are currently on.

Perhaps a better analogy is in order. Fate is like a river. It is a force of nature, it dwarfs us completely in scale. The options I laid out earlier could then be laid out in this analogy, the extremes being either swimming with the river, getting to the end of our path quicker, or attempting to swim against it, only delaying the inevitable.

But those need not be our only choices. Instead, why don't we swim to the side. We work within the confines of fate to establish a better end. Neither submitting nor rejecting. We simply need to understand our own position and work from there.

The entire point of the anime was that fate need not be absolute. Homura attempted to fight against fate by herself, and undo the inevitable. But fate only changed when Modoka changed fate within it's own confines. She made her wish, submitting to the fact that she would become a witch, but redirecting fate by destroying the witch of her own creation.

Rivers change course over time. By the forces of human intervention canals can be dug, locks built, dams constructed, rivers dredged deeper or filled to be shallower. These techniques work because they do not stop the river, they merely suggest a new direction, and then make that new direction the path of least resistance. To change our fate, we do not need to become a saint, we only need to become good enough to avert disaster.
>>
>>21293436
I still disagree on what definition of good you are working on. The point of life is to enjoy life, so if you can enjoy life, you live well, which is a good thing. Putting Mami ourtight in the basment seems like a bad idea. We should at least try to be diplomatic about that.

First, we will stalk her for some time, check out who she meets up, what she does in her free time. You know.. Intel-Gathering so we know all that things about her that she tries to keep a lid on.
Secondly, any romantic liasons held by her will be dealt with swiftly by making them vanish and killing them in the most gruesome ways imgainable and discarding their limbs all over Mitikahara-Bay.
Thirdly, we will make our advances on her. Flowers here, some gifts there, should she, for whatever reason, pretend not to reciprocate to our feelings we will obviously show her that there is nothing to be ashamed off, after all, we love her just as much as she loves us. Maybe a tinybitsy bit more. And we know that she loves us. Because there is no way she wouldn`t. because we are made for each other, everybody knows that. She may need some time to adapt to her own overflowing feelings for us and act accoording to them, but there is no need to worry, we will make her. We will take our time, be patient , and we will make her love us. because this is how much she means to us, so she has to KNOW.ALL.OF.OUR.FEELINGS.FOR. HER! EVEN IF THIS MEANS TIEING HER UP AND HAVING LONG, LONG SESSION OF TALKS IN THE BASEMENT ABOUT OUR LOVE!

Do you know what love is?
It isn't the palpitations of your heart as you share in a wordless exchange, basking in the glow of fireworks, his eyes locked to yours, yours to his. That's nothing more than a fancy, possibly fleeting, ultimately meaningless. Incomparable to "love." It isn't the nervous happiness that wells up in every fiber of your being as you try to regain your composure, following in the wake of his charmingly clumsy confession as you stare at your feet. Those are children's games; pale imitations, misconceptions of "love" you play at to while away the time. A mere facade of "love." It isn't even the intimacy you share, locked together in an embrace, sharing your warmth, mouth pressed against his as you force him into you, eyes fixed together in a longing stare. There's passion, yes, as you cling to him bestially, trying to sink in your claws, leave your mark, imprint yourself onto him. And yet you only barely begin to see the enormity of "love."
Love is more than a feeling. More than a desire. More than a need. It's a connection. A bond. A chain, encircling everything of yours: your feelings, your desires, your needs, your actions, your story, everything. Everything of yours, and everything of his. It binds it all together, coalesces towards a single harmonious existence that encompasses you, him, and the love you share, and nothing else. Love means not only the willingness, but the ability to give everything to him, for him. For love. It means taking everything beautiful and everything terrible about yourself and allowing it to wither and die, fester and grow. For love. It means surrender. Absolute surrender. Surrendering yourself to him, having him surrender himself, to you. For love.

I love him. Can you say the same?
Well. I guess you can't say much of anything, can you?
Do you know how I can say that you don't love him?
Because.
If you did, why, you'd be the one holding the knife.

Knowing our luck, Mami is dating Iori because Pinky convinced her to comfort the distressed Iori and it all span out of control from there.

It's built on UDK, which I've gotten smooth-skinned meshes/rigs/animation sets into before. Hopefully they haven't tinkered with TOO much stuff to change that.

I kinda doubt it, anyway, Thin Men are pretty obviously smooth skinned. Iunno what the influence limits are, but I tend to work to three anyway, which a modern Triple-A engine for primary platforms (as opposed to portable) should be able to handle with ease.
>>
Wow I leave you guys alone for a couple of hours and come back to this?

Grimderp crowd came from people wanting to cut all ties and go full murderdeathkill on everything, it became linked to anyone who anti waifu'd from the fact that originally the people who reacted the strongest to the waifuing were ridiculous about it and had no clue what noir was

Now we have waifu and grimderp not as proper examples of the original argument but any time someone disagrees with someone else about what should be done with waifu being the "let's be nicer to people" side of things and grimderp being the "let's just be honest we are a cunt so let's act like it" side of things

>get accused of metagaming/waifu-shipping when first reaction is not "HURR KILL EVERYTHING"

>mfw

Best example of grimderp:

>apologizing to Kharn for whatever Murderface did to her
>not apologizing to Pinky in the elevator when she's crazy-emotional and playing along with her while she's bawling might make her say more than she intends to and yield more clues as to what she is

Philip Marlowe was god-tier at using the "good cop" routine along with large amounts of alcohol to get information out of people (though I doubt getting Faust drunk to loosen her lips would work).

Instead, we get:
>provoke Pinky into ripping Chiaki's heart out
>>
>>21295060
Getting Faust drunk would probably work brilliantly
All we need to do is get an Olympic swimming pool full of kong and introduce pinky to the secrets of getting soul drunk
>>
>>21295171

She's a witch. She doesn't have a soul gem, just a grief seed.

... So obviously we need to talk to QB about launching a couple hundred tons of Kong whiskey into orbit.
>>
This thread is a clusterfuck of opinions. I'm sure mine will make everything better.

Chiaki would be a lot better off if she had stayed in bed and made all of Midori's wet dreams come true. She could've avoided Pinky, for a bit longer, at least. That heart-wrenching visit probably kicked the corruption up a notch. Which may make Chiaki's current situation worse.

And Midori deserves it, damn it. Poor girl's a wreck.
>>
>>21295171
>>21295242

Problem is: Faust's Grief Seed is the size of a small moon. Even if we got enough whiskey to dunk it, we don't know if the Dunk the Soul Gem trick works on Grief Seeds or not.

Nevertheless, my point of >>21295060 stands: an opportunity to get more information/plot wasted due to "lolsorandumb" and "HURR Dick Mode engaged". I predict the grimderps will try to alienate Mami next.
>>
>>21293663
Actually I think we were mostly hoping to convince Mami to come out of the closet.
>>
>>21295317
Then we get a planet sized booze tank and dunk that shit

We would never have learned about soul drinking, soul gem licking or the secret of whiskey pancakes if we didn't try things because they seemed like a good idea at the time
>>
>>21295317

The only thing I supported was saying Madoka Kaname's full name, but considering the shape pinky was in I doubt she would tell us much even if she didn't just kill us anyway.
>>
>>21294461

been fiddling with x-com files all morning and all I managed to do was break my x-com......

I may need help with this, on the plus side I now have INSANELY powerful lasers by fiddling with .ini files

going to open a thread on the x-com Nexus, which is where this would be put anyway. so if you hang around there that would probably be a better place to discuss things

I've been wondering about Kharn...it's implied that she and Misaka's brother are in a relationship. Yet during the flashback, she was the godempress of lezkind. Is that guy really a girl? Did whatever it was that happened to Malal cause her to swear off women? Can magical girls wish to be male?
>>
>>21295500
I think it is more Kharn was the god empress of sleeping with anything slightly attractive or intriguing ( remember the culexuses that Malal said weren't blonde ) more than lezkind

And even then she might be bisexual which given Kharn wouldn't be surprising
I still think that whatever happened between what we saw and Kharn retiring to Siberia really did change her and she went from wanting to just screw everything possible to wanting to settle down with a side interest in screwing only people she has wanted for a long time like Mami
>>
Am I the only one who really wants to know more about what Misaka's whole deal is?
We know she is a tech priest, loves anything that is a weapon or mechanical and is supposedly proficient with all the equipment she stocks but things like her little episode while drinking and just how she makes all the crap she works on work really is raising questions for me

Hokay. Been prodding at it a little myself. Looks like it requires either a full paid license of UDK (nope) or some byte-editing of the package files. From what I've seen they're working on a program to do that, though. So'll probably be good to go in, hopefully a week or two, but more likely a month or two.

I'll look you up on the Nexus thing.

Remember, we are watching.

>get accused of noir GRIMDARk when first reaction is not "APOLOGIZE FOR EVERYTHING EVER!" Even the Jews, man. Especially the Jews!
>mfw

>apologizing to Kharn for whatever Murderface did to her
Except there was a shitload of people who were against is because it was retarded. Including me.
I also never enjoyed Kharn`s Perspective, especially nor her chucklefuckey BLOOD FOR THE BLOODGOD. She was great as a Side/Mentor-Character but it was an awful move by chuckefucks/waifufags to want to play as her what ruined that character for me.

>not apologizing to Pinky in the elevator when she's crazy-emotional and playing along with her while she's bawling might make her say more than she intends to and yield more clues as to what she is
Right. Because that worked so good in the past and she did provide us with SO MANY INFORMATIONS when we asked directly about it, right? Oh wait, except she didnt, we still should suck up to the cunt though..because? Because.. uh.. ehm.. . Oh. There is no reason whatsoever. What a surprise.
And then you still manage to wonder why it looks like you are shipping her. Wow. Just wow.

>Philip Marlowe
I would rather go with Gillian Seed from Snatcher.

>>provoke Pinky into ripping Chiaki's heart out
YEAH! RIGHT! We totally did provoke her! By truning around and wanting some answers! All that provocation , man! Instead we should have apologized about shit we dont even know about! Right!

I am sorry, but you sond like a complete retard to me. And its probably because you are a retard or highly autistic, its like in your world there are only two switches, FULL WAIFUFAG and GRIMDOOORK!, so let me be clear, I consider myself neither, nor do I consider myself noir or grimdark, if that would be the case, I doubt I would have proposed for Chiaki to steal those MIGs.
So yeah, it would be nice if you could se past black and white, But I doubt that your autism will allow you to do that.
>>
>>21295734

yeah people are saying The main problem is that game files are stored in cooked upks that cannot be modified easily with the UDK.

this is what's really causing the issues, that and the X-COMTEEAAMMM!! really didn't factor in people wanting to mod their game..... I mean really!?

but yeah people on the nexus are working on their own programs to delve into the game and rustle around with it's innards and we just have to wait.
>>
>>21296170

Fairly standard practice. You can't really charge people for DLC if they can just mod that shit in, so stuff tends to be fairly locked down. They'll probably be dropping modding tools in 120 days or so once the first DLC's been out for a while.
