This is Edora...
It's a barren planet, but the only planet in it's solar system.
It orbits a giant sun, easily ten times as big as itself.
The thick atmosphere forbids any sort of life, constant thunder storms litter the planet, sometimes so fierce that they carve great canyons in the dry earth.

You, /tg/ will play as gods, your identity such as your name, associated symbols, and background are of no matter, all that need be known is that you will be the ones to shape Edora into the world you want it to be, however despite your godly hood you are not all-powerful, and your power fluxuates randomly.

Here's how this will work, the players will suggest new features (species, locations, planetary effects) and then roll 1d100 to decide how successful the action is. You may not suggest things that would decimate the other gods' works on a large scale. If and when sentient life and civilization takes over the world, gods will have to convert them to worshipping them before they can directly influence what the civilizations do. Without direct guidance the civilizations will do as they please (directed by the GM), random events may occur at any time.

The blank slate has been presented, the painting will be up to you.

Furthermore, how does a Thunderstorm create canyons? Rivers create canyons, or glaciers, due to very slow wearing down of rock and earth over huge periods of time.

Does.... does the thunder vibrate the ground so hard that the dirt just... i dunno, gets jiggled out of place?

If so, you'd better make sure no critters on your planet have ears, to say the least.

>It orbits a giant sun, easily ten times as big as itself.

So the sun is ten times as big as itself all the time? It's expanding constantly by a factor of 10?

Or is the planet one tenth of the sun? If so, a solid planet of that size would have the sun orbit the planet or they would collide, or in an extreme case, whirl about and end up fuck nowhere.

It seems you cannot into cosmos.

Hold on a sec. I'm merely expressing curiosity about the size of the star or Edora. The line about it being easily ten times as large as Edora is what sparked my interest. From what I know of stars, they are often orders of magnitude larger than their planets.

It is technically true that a star is easily ten times larger than a planet, but if you stuck ten planets in a ball next to a star, the size difference would still be insane, so this description put me in mind of the star being relatively closer to the size of the planet. Which means either crazy small star, or crazy large planet.

And I implied no such thing about giant stars.

A significant portion of the barren world is overgrown with a strange sort of plant life, it comes in many varieties, but most of it is strange and impossible to understand, the dense forests is full of geometric impossibilities, within the forested patches it is impossible accurately navigate in any direction. The first drops of water are introduced to the strange planet, small streams trickle down precious liquids to fuel the growth of both life and the cryptic forests.

>>21270082
A strange species is born, the only mammal to grace the cryptic forests of Edora, these deer-like creatures have four legs which they stand on, they lack any sort of arms to grasp objects, however they do have two long furry tails. Besides that they are practicly identical to deer on earth, they can however stick to organic things (plant life) like glue, their bodies can secrete a sort of chemical that allows them to stick to such organic material, which proves invaluable to their survival. As of yet they feast on the plentiful vegetation that the forest provides, however many of them are being eliminated by thunderstorms, as are the forests being set on fire and burnt to the ground...

(EVENT)
Life has sprung forth from the recent introduction of forests and water! Minor amphibians and reptiles now live in the early Edorian forests.

A semi-large crack in the sky appears in the north of the forest, and moves with it, it does nothing but look like a crack that looks big enough to fit a man, no trees can reach and and due to an ever shifting ground, building up to it is not feasable. The only way to get to it is via flight or something. In the daytime, looking through the crack shows a nighttime sky. In the night, it shows the day. This is because the "crack" is actually a portal to the future, exactly 12 hours. Whenever someone enters the crack, they "black out" (when they enter they instantly forget what happened, and black out for ~3 minutes, in this time they slowly float to the ground of the forest.)

The Sren come in large swarms, born onto dead animals they wait to infect water sources, those animals that drink from the infected streams are infested with the Sren, the animal soon grows weaker and weaker until the Sren finally destroy the creatures internal organs and begins the feasting process. Each cell has an extremely weak psychic power, in large numbers they can combine this psychic ability to form a sort of sentience that allows them to exist, think, and make decisions on a primitive level, often times each hive colony will try to infect and eat other colonies as food, at this level they can't tell the difference from friend and foe.

Some of the plants in the cryptic forest become carnivorous, using long vines as appendages to trap animals and consume them in their large acidic maws, though they aren't as successful as intended and are begin to decline in population quite quickly.

>>21270786
The Sren create small 'nests' in the root systems of the carnivorous plants, protecting themselves from being trampled underfoot by reckless animals and allowing them to settle down and gain food from the roots of the plant, however the communities are unable to grow as the plants can only provide so many nutrients at a constant rate without actually being harmed (eaten.) These small communities slowly start to die out over milleniums...

(EVENT)
Recent evolutions have turned the cryptic forests into jungle-like terrain, the thick foliage and undergrowth has created something not so dissimilar from jungles on earth, except of course their non-eucildian geometry.

The trees, named shock trees are quite remarkable, they manage to do the job of containing the thunderstorms, but more often than not end up releasing the energy in a huge electrical explosion that devestates nearby vegetation and god forbid, wildlife. Large open fields of barren soil can be found around the shock trees, as for the De'renai, they lack any decent way of manipulating their environment, and they aren't intelligent enough to form communities, as of yet they are solitary creatures, only forming groups when threatened by predators or when the breeding season comes around.

The rocklings are created, creatures born from magical power, held together with divine bonds, they roam the land (mostly the barren land, they aren't able to traverse the cryptic jungles) looking for rocks to consume and add to their mass, they end up as giant rolling clumps of rock, often times remaining dormant for years before finally moving to go consume more inorganic material to add to their body mass.

>>21271040
The giant crater is consumed in complete turmoil, the hurricane of fog, wind, and lightning causes the whole crater to become a death pit, the only safe spot being just around the remains of the impacted meteor.

>>21271058
A land of gripping winter waits in the north, a land barren to the core, the only moving creatures in this land is the Vennklogs, giant four-legged creatures with black skin, similar to dogs but with demonic jaws, the creatures are immortal and evil to the core, their only reason for existience being to create chaos and promote insanity. Such dreadful creatures are left to suffer and be tortured by their own existence in the icy north, it is there they will reside for all time....?

>>21271100
The De'renai start to develop claspers of some sort, furry bone-like things on their hands, similar to fingers. They slowly form into hands, currently they only have three fingers, but they are quite flexible and can be used to grasp nearly anything, their hands are protected by natural bone platings, the last remaining evidence that they used to have hooves. Because of this they cannot travel on all-fours affecitvely, thus they are forced to move around with their backs straight, they have become the first true sentient species! With this they will be able to develop communities and build villages, however they still need to improve their intelligence...
>>
>>21271132
The moles aren't well suited for the intense colds and begin to decline, they require some sort of internal heating method. Besides that the creatures are small baseball-sized creatures with gray hard skin, they have small clawed hands to dig through soil and small beady black eyes and whiskers to sense their environment, their mouths are filled with gnashing teeth to chew up the energy-rich crystals.

>>21271164
The garden of the gods ends up being a land of fake beauty, those who arrive there are assaulted by evil shades disguised as good-willed spirits, those who are weak-willed and ripe with temptation will be coaxed to their doom, the shades will feast upon them viciously, however, those who prove themselves stout of heart and pure of mind will pass through unharmed.

>>21271240

>>21271295
The Sren grow to be visible to the untrained eye, they appear as small wriggling jelly-things, sliding around surfaces and such, secreting deadly acid that eats away at organic material, however because of their size high intelligence is virtually impossible, they get just a tad bit smarter, and stop killing other colonies so frequently, but they still fight if they infest the same corpse, resource wars and all that. The Sren will have to develop a brain if they want to get any farther (by conventional methods.) As a side note they begin to communicate primitively by changing colors with a new found chemical that they now produce.

Without the aid of graspers or higher intelligence the Iguanos continue to bide their time in the canopy of the cryptic jungles....

>>21271468
The De'renai seem to gain minor intelligence, allowing them to cordinate and understand the world much better, they become primitive tribesmen, many of them form tribes all over the cryptic jungles, their villages consist of small shelters made from sticks in the canopies, they use sharpened sticks as weapons, but have no discovered fire. Giving them knowledge through divine means will be difficult from now on, they must advance on their own, or you must aid them through indirect means. One tribe of De'renai seem to be able to grasp the concept of a divine deity, and are now worshipping Ericidal as a god, Ericidal will recieve a slight boost to his godly power. There are four tribes of De'renai, represented by yellow dots, it is rare for the De'renai to conglomerate, as they are mainly solitary creatures, thus the tribes that have formed are quite special, and should be nurtured accordingly. Each tribe has about thirty members so far...

The priests of Ericidal seem to fail to work his magic properly, they end up ruining the spells they are given, their intended reality warping powers ended up being gravity distorting powers. The priests of Ericidal can strengthen and weaken the gravity slightly around them. They are given the mark of Ericidal

>>21271525
The Sren are a scourge to Edora, they take everything and give nothing. It is true that there is a limit to how intelligent such a small creature can get, they will have to get larger, develop brains...But as of yet they are doing just fine by using their psychic power to form a hivemind, some Sren are showing a peculiar habbit. Some Sren are combining to form bigger individuals, such specimens have double the psychic power than before, and show some signs of independence from the hivemind. Nonetheless the Sren show more focus in their attacks, colonies are starting to become larger as specimens combine more and more, this continues until finally watermelon sized Sren exist, entire colonies fused togehter to form one individual...One creature, with one will, with one mind, yet made of many. These creatures have the capacity to become more intelligent if they could adapt and form better body, their advantage was their small size, with that gone they are easy prey, however not as easy as they might seem.
>cont.
>>
They aren't exactly edible afterall, when bitten into they merely seperate into small Sren that quickly digest the predator...The Sren are becoming a plague, a combined colony of Sren can easily digest an adult De'renai in 1 hour, if that, if the colony is determined it can digest one in a few minutes. The De'renai, aswell as all species in the cryptic jungles must learn to fight these nigh invincible foes if they wish to advance.

You imbue a meteor with your divine magic and hurl it into the jungle, a few frogs stumble upon it and become magic frogs, they glow white, any who eat the frogs will have the power of a god inside them, but their life span will be reduced to a few weeks.

Rise and become the dominant species on Edora!!

>>21272029

(I appreciate the roleplay and creative writing, but what exactly are you evolving these things from? You are a god, and you have the right to simply plop down a sentient species, but i'd much more prefer if it actually came from another non-sentient species, makes more sense.)
The giant ants that lived in the underground caverns were ruthless, life down in the dark depths was cruel, they would often have to eat their dead and their enemies alike to survive. From the chaos the Oer'Sadou were born, in a primitive state, but they were quite ingenious for a primitive tribe. They were creative, quite possibly the most inventive of all the races on Edora, and most of all they have a undying desire to live...Crimson dot representing the Oer'Sadou, keep in mind that they are underground.

Fertile grassy plains are born among the dead wasted of Edora.

>>21273487
The sickening creatures rose from the black ooze and began to exist on the island, why were they here? What purpose could they have? All that was for certain was that they would play a pivotal role in the years to come...

>>21273518
The moles begin to consume the the near cooled magma of the underground expanses, however it would be hard on them, many died, but soon they became resistant to heat, their skin turned slightly red, it thickened and became increasingly dry. But still, it would not be easy to forge a creature resistant to even the fiery hot magma of the earth itself.

>>21273524
The land is filled further with beautiful expanses of grassland, however it intrudes on the cryptic jungles expansions, the De'renai's begin to flock to the grassy plains, it is free of predators and rich with soil and promise, despite this it is difficult to adapt, they are used to navigating impossible geometry, finding their way through unending foliage and such, perhaps if they are guided, a tribe might move to the grasslands?

>>21273549
Your angel leaves the tree, the protective barriers quickly breaking once her pressence is gone, the cold overtakes the tree quickly, it begins to die...The bottles fog up as the cold cracks the glass...A great age is ending..The angel lingers in the skies above the village, the De'renai are mesmerized by the pretty lights the angel gives off, however since no direct contact has been made they have yet to realize it is the agent of a loving god, they only see a strange light in the sky.
>>
>>21273556
The fungals infest the island, making the island a place of poison, slime, and general evil. The worms take root immediatly, rapidly reproducing, they infest the island now, they are about the size of a baseball bat and can easily kill a grown De'renai. The fearsome golems and the dreadful worms coexist on this fungus infested island, surely there is no place more dreadful, this place of pure evil is named Karthus by your divine will.

>>21273563
An epic range of mountains is created, but not finished, nor is the marble structures finished, your godly powers were not enough this time...Perhaps if you were to convert some of the De'renai tribes, or maybe the antmen tribe. When tribes worship you, you gain more power as a god.

>>21273620
And so rivers were built to perpetuate the acidic goop, fueling the growth of fields of sharp blades of grass, not ordinary grass, no, this grass would cut those who tread on it, the blood only serving to provide nutrients for the blood hungry fields.

>>21273757
From the sky came fire, rocks from space gathered and molded under your divine will, they created a giant pillar, ontop the symbol of the fabled bat.
>>
>>21274484
Do not sway the balance of power. The planet would weep. Our creations would tremble. Edora would curse us.
>>
>>21273715
The Oer'Sadou are terrified at first, but soon that fear turns to curiosity, and that fear to wonderment as they found they could control the rock they tread on, however by doing so they lost a bit of their life force, each time losing a year. Still, they persevered, and they used this power to further their cause, evolving around this new power, they became smarter, using it to create better housing, they used it to mine into the rock walls and create complex nests, and eventually tools, they were well on their way towards a better, brighter civilization. To you, Hokoth, they worship, they erected a shrine in your name, bearing your symbol, they summoned you with their pleads.
"Divine one!"
"Our God!"
"How may we venerate you?"
The Oer'Sadou are at your command, Hokoth.

(EVENT)
Due to the angel leaving the tree undefended, it died, shrivelling up. It's many bottles containing dimensions fell, breaking on the ground, infinite possibilities, lost all in that one moment. The tree remained as a dead husk, a warning to all the price of carelessness. The garden of deceit remains now, the shades have turned into weeping souls, wallowing in sorrow that their beloved tree has died, they now only wander the dead garden and bellow, crying into the stale cold air. They don't attack passerbys, but those that enter the garden are doomed to a life of sorrow...
>>
>>21273885
Such a strong demand, to disregard the laws of gravity for milleniums would require considerable divine power, which at the moment you do not have...

>>21274092
The fungus seems to take to the land about as well as butter would take to a sun, it simply dies off with a few minutes, strange, maybe it requires some sort of liquid to grow well?

>>21274152
Perhaps your action was too descriptive, fecal matter pours from the sky in the north, soiling the good pure snow and annoying the ice demons quite a bit.

>>21274213
It stands proudly for about ten minutes before a thunder storm utterly wrecks it and pounds it to dust, then an unknown force sucks it into the eternal oblivion of the void itself.

>>21274257
Some sort of strange radioactive liquid is spewed onto the planet, while it doesn't nearly cover the entire planet, it does screw with the DNA of some local creatures, causing many amphibious and fish monstrosities to be born...

The fungus forms together, producing colonies. The colonies are capable of movement on land or water, and have the ability to produce spores. Rolling for the pillar o' power:

The pillar is imbued with otherworldly strength, making the island glow upward. The light reflects off of the ocean smog, and creatures from miles away can view the bat-signal. He sent a divine being, an Angel on dark wings, a twisted tentacled being to the Black Lake, to appear to his creatures there, to give them purpose, to give them a deity to follow, to fight and conquer for."

"I seek a race to serve me. If you grant me creatures to aid me I shall wholly deny the molten rock to Marmo. I will not actively participate in this war, but that does not mean I will not profit from your petty feuds. Besides, Marmos suggestion of the Burning Earth kindled a desire to make a bargain within me, and now I offer the same to you. Do you complain now Master of the North?"

YEEEEESSS!!!

Also, I think we're autosaging, so there's that.

Content to ignore the bickering of It's fellows, It turns towards the calloused planet below. Edora lives in chaos and pain. It cannot allow this to continue. And thus, it wills that the Lo shall be manifest.
The Lo are a curious breed. Ever changing to suit their environment and utilizing the smallest fractions of It's power to bring balance to the world by slow mending and minding of the worlds scars.
They simply ignore the life-forms of the planet, should one be destroyed, they are replaced through It's power.

You never did roll...Roll so I can add it into the update before I post.

Let's do this, motherfucker.

"I seek to draw the De'Renai to the North and use their worship to finish the construction of our pantheon. I could easily split their affections with another God. More importantly, wit their worship we shall have a domain and a presence in this world. I can always create constructs, but creatures of ice and snow fair poorly in the heart of the world. Perhaps a workshop above the crust would be more well suited for my gifts."

"Bring the Den'renai to me and none shall interfere with the workings of the deep. This I swear, yet, if Marmo can deliver his fire-moles unto me first, I shall accept his deal. Or at least I would if that did not strike me as unfair, so I give you two turns of this world (two update posts from Angry after this) to deliver the Den'renai to me. If you do not do so within that time, I will accept Marmos firemoles, if he offers them. If he does not, he shall not have his molten earth"

speaking of such, may i borrow some mountain stuffs? you know, golems and the like?

i have had a long standing friendship with he who dwells in the north and i will stand by him in the wars to come. do not think me disrespectful, i mearly hold to a pact made long ago.

"If you grant me golems, you too may partake of the Earth. This does not prevent Marmo and the He who dwells in the North from acquiring servants for me though"

The Black Lake curdles and bubbles, perhaps it senses the discord in the Divine Pantheon of Edora, and knows of the war to come
>>
"Instead of tearing the world asunder we could try settling this like civilized gods. We need not draw party lines. Instead, we could find a fitting environment for the moles, or use arcane powers to split the North in two, and contain two entirely different biomes. I'd gladly offer my hand in restoring some of your... disgusting molten lands."
>>
>>21276179
"Excellent. Take what you need from the surface. I shall turn towards earth itself now, particularly that rift in the east I failed to create..."

>>21276153

>I seem to have stirred up a hornets nest. Cool

"I am enemy to none. I merely seek servants upon Eldora itself to enact my will, and I see no reason to create servants when so many creatures exist upon Eldora already."

We're auto-saging? Guess we need to wrap it up :( Or we could continue in another thread if you guys want to, fuck sleep am I right? Hahaha /twitch.

The Urangen have not yet fully harnessed the magmas of the earth, after dozens of generations they finally manage to grow skin physically immune to heat, however this also means they cannot easily gather heat from outside sources, they will have to live deep within the earth, near magma at all times, otherwise they will freeze. Nonetheless, they begin to consume magma and expell it as both a weapon and a tool to dig, this new behaviour shows some signs of intelligence, whether it's just instinct built up over dozens of generations or actual intelligence is unknown, nonetheless the moles are successful in living and building nests deep underground, but what shall they eat? Food is sparse, worms are about the only thing to eat, and not many of them exist this deep down in the earth.

>>21274642
While they made the grassy plains beautiful, tending to plants and allowing more advanced plants to grow, Edora is a cruel and hostile planet. The atmosphere has been ignored for so long, why do you think so many of it's inhabitants live under the cover of jungles, soil, rock, sand and water? Anything that isn't a magical construct or extremely durable is stricken by lightning out in the open, Edora's atmosphere is extremely thick, and vast thunder storms destroy many life forms. The great butterflies are quickly eradicated from the world, lightning striking each one down as it flies high into the air.

The De'renai were fearful of the angel, which to them appeared as a great light with humanoid form. They flee'd, unknowing of what the strange creature was, but somehow it spoke their language. They asked it many questions, the angel asnwering, finally the De'renai (this tribe now known as the Oc'Shami) decided against worshipping Ardarvia, stating that they will find their own path in the world, they will not depend on any gods!

The seed was tainted however, the shades of the garden of deceit planting evil into it before it dropped, even so, noone came to claim the seed, and it was left to rot in the dead soil, never to grow.

Somehow many colonies of Sren get together and form a bacterial drill, through fierce teamwork and a singular will they dig deep into the earth for many years, eventually uncovering the hidden power deep within the earth, it is found that it is a strange small metal sphere sat upon a stone pedastel in an ancient underground temple. The Sren, being guided by unforseen gods, took the metal sphere, it opened up, uncovering a velvety red inside, a small perfectly cubed clear glass-like object was inside, the Sren held the strange object and it exploded in light, and then...Then...The Sren were sentient. They broke up their formation, the colonies were no longer colonies, they were individuals, through some magical and divine power, they became self-aware, they returned to the surface where they formed not just a tribe, but a city of Sren, hundreds of them gathered, and through teamwork they found that they could accomplish great tasks. Their city was built from jungle trees, cut and placed to form a structure hundreds of feet tall and wide, there they rested and consumed their victims. After many years the individuals combined to form greater being, larger than before. They ate and ate, eating away at the wildlife in the cryptic jungle, including the De'renai. They were on top of the food chain.

>Buckle up boys, this is a long one...
>>
>>21276279
also, what about my "birds" they are the stuff of mountains should they too die of the lightning?
>>
They bred, multiplying on the corpses of their kills, the city expanded until the Sren were at six hundred strong, each the size of an adult De'renai, soon their intelligence lead them to vanity, they no longer wanted to stare upon their shapeless forms, they wanted to take shape, and so they did! The Sren became humanoids, hands, feet, torso, waist, head, neck, everything, yet utterly featureless. The Sren were now somewhat of a master race. They had stone tools and a decent language, a written language, writing and parchment, hell they even had leathers in which they created many things from. They were a threat to all of Edora, they had to be stopped...

While the fungus starts to produce hive colonies in which they conglomerate and reproduce, they still cannot move. The worms grow a bigger brain at the expense of some jaw strength and end up with decent intelligence for an animal, they can work out problems fairly well now, they can communicate primitively through scent and hormones. The worms end up eating fungus or each other now, their intelligence not proving to help much against cannibalism. When they try to swim in the acidic waters they burn up quickly.

>>21274768
An amphibious monster is born, similar to godzilla but without a tail, hunched forward, melting green skin and deadly acid spit. You appear before it and impart divine power into it, making it intelligent and more powerful, Bobsy is it's name, destruction is it's game.

You crash into the world in your physical manfiestation, turning the local grassland into pure Kermal, a metal about as strong as iron, but has chemcial burning agents in it, it takes on a yellowish color and is quite hard to mine.

>>21274784
And so your avatar was born among the De'renai, he looks just like them, but in him you have planted the divine seeds of wisdom.

>>21274815
The pillar fails to glow, but instead periodically charges with divine energy and releases it, empowering nearby creatures and fungi.

>>21274831
The golems and worms aren't sentient nor intelligent, thus communication with them is minimal, they simply seem curious to your avatars pressence, they don't seem to follow any of your orders. Perhaps they need to be forced?

>>21274834
Explodes.

>>21276324
>The lightning bolts on this planet are so large and powerful that they can literally carve canyons into the ground. You tell me.

The construct arrives at village #4, the De'renai there are frightened and try to destroy the construct, but soon find it is useless, they study it and listent to it's words. Finally they apologize to the construct and accept it's gifts, using the crystals as spearheads. They seem open-minded and agree to worship the one in the north in return for aid in their battle against the Sren.

>>21274862
Those afflicted by the god's tears are grief stricken, many wander into the wilderness and die in the dark, alone. Others push past the pain and use their new found wisdom to help their kinsmen. Among these only three, the Sren leader Aultrec, who ended up permanently damagin himself by blinding himself in grief, the chief of the Oc'Shami, and the chief of the Oer'Sadou.

>>21274864
Your divine power fails you once more...

>>21274871

>>21274874
Despite all of this aid, the De'renai are at a lost, all of this new knowledge flowing in so fast, they end up learning nothing.

>>21274938
The message is recieved, and a few take it to heart, but most shake it off as a bad thought.

>>21274979
Sadly your archaic messages end up sounding like farts once they've traveled to the ears of sentient beings.

>>21274966
Everyone and their grandmother understands what the book means, though subtle the message is persistent, they understand they must stop this great evil, and pray to you, asking how they can do such a thing, they have no weapons that can destroy immortals.

>>21274958
The rift is so small it's not even worth mentioning, it's only big enough to fit a truck, perhaps if you convince a tribe to worship you, maybe you will gain some divine power that will allow you to perform greater feats?

>>21275141
Some colorful flowers and medicinal herbs grow around the world, but nothing too special.

Somethings happening...Lord Bronze knocked Merrdon out of it's orbit with his terrible roll! Wait, somethings happening...What is...Oh no, the tides are shifting! With only one satelite the oceans are unstable! They're moving!...The narrow pass has been created, two oceans formed into one. Islands have sunk, and some have rised.

>>21275978
The Lo are created, efficient in every sense of the word, they serve Ge with deadly precision.

>>21276067
The beast is huge, no doubt, but without enough divine power to fuel him he simply sleeps on the barren soil, the birds that are summoned are quickly exterminated by lightning bolts from the sky, this planets atmosphere is extremely thick, any creatures out in the open are at risk for electrocution on a grand scale, flying creatures have literally no chance for survival.
