>In the practical science of war, the best thing of all is to take your objectives whole and intact; to shatter and destroy them serves no purpose and drains your strength. So, too, it is better to capture and surround enemy troops than to destroy them, for they may yet serve other purposes. As we could see during early stages of the Great Crusade, Primarchs quite often used xeno slave labour to rebuild ruined worlds and reconstructed their fortresses to house Terran troops. General who...

Your vox-caster crackles to life and you are forced to put the book down.
"Chapter Master, this is Captain Arcon, I have just spoken with Nerial, our Master Astropath. It seems that you have received four soulwords from the Capitolis Sectorum, one of them from the Lord Sector Governor himself. Would you like me to send a servitor with transcripts to you or would you like to continue your meditation?

It takes a few minutes, but finally old buzzing one-eyed servitor rolls into your cell. His model doesn't seem to have voice simulation capabilities, so a screen on his chest lits up:
>Grand Master, Servitor 342 has brought you package from Captain 3 Arcon.
Servitor unfolds it's mechanical tentacle and offers a small courier box that is closed and secured with a genelock. You take it and touch the small blade on the side, letting it draw a drop of your blood and taste your DNA. Box unlocks with a hiss and you take out messages that you read one by one.

First soulwords was sent by Lord Sector Governor Larion Ursus, he seems to have changed his opinion about you, or at least he wants you to think so. The message is invitation to his daughters wedding on Tachion Primaris in three months. On the other hand, he might be just paying respects for the custom to invite all the lords in the Sector... You think that you could use this visit to advance your political agenda. However even not going there could have serious implications...

Next letter is from Inquisitor Faceless.
>Dear friend, I am in great need of your help. There's a certain sticky situation here that can be solved only by thrones, lots of thrones. I would appreciate if you could send me 10 000 000 thrones. I will not forget this. I am staying in Tartarus space station at the moment. Just please, send the money through non-Imperial ships, things could get ugly if space marines would show up. Yours, F.
[10 million thrones in this case would be about 10 wealth]

We got a space station STC that van be used as a cargo handling facility. Swap the design to the Admech for a completed Space station that we staff completely with out-system immigrants with no contact with the surface. Freighters will only interact with the space station personnel. Any attempt to contact the surface directly will be met with blamming. All shuttle flights to and from the surface will be done by specially selected Chapter Serfs.

Post from last thread:
>Make sure to make it clear to the governor that the inq would burn the planet to "prevent contamination". They've done it before, over the objections of chapters far more powerful than us, like the space yiffs.
Kerius Dermont, governor of Mormark, grudgingly accepts the situation. However the problems remains - there is a serious threat of massive famine in the world that you come to view as your own.

Also, Nestorian tech-priests are already working on the former battlefields all around the planet... Please roll d100 to see how successful they are.

Third letter is from Merchant League, they are asking for a permission to come to Varda with commission to check up on your progress regarding implementation of infrastructure to exploit natural resources like gases and fuels. If you were a human, this request would probably make you sweat, as no works that were promised have been done so far and it doesn't take a genius to realise that by now it's almost impossible for you to finish the project by 330.M41 deadline.

Last letter is from the Lord Admiral Tyrel, he is sending you his greetings and requesting your help in fighting pirates who have become increasingly daring in Sub-Sector Tyranus. He even mentions a possibility that Imperial Navy might be willing to reward you for such help, because this would make them look good in front of High Lords of Terra.

Magos Architectum Archeomedes, who first visited Mormark when he was commissioned to build your Fortress-Monastery, Tombstone has now returned with over 20 thousand strong Nestorian Exploration Force. They set up around two dozen camps across the planet and collect various examples of Dark Technology, while destroying those that could be dangerous to locals. He estimates, that they should finish cleaning toxic and nuclear waster in about 2 years, however hunting down every last one of feral mechanical beasts might take centuries, so they will leave this task to the locals.
>Machines are no longer under control of their A.I. masters, now they are nothing but mindless automata, they pose phusical danger to lone humans or small isolated settlements, but they will never threaten your planet again. I suspect that they could make a good target practice for your initiates.
Also, apparently techno mages managed to gain access to some more data from which they will be able to develop new STC-based designs, however it will take more time.

Both of them are happy with the plan you have suggested. Regon, who participates in your conversation through instant-relayed astropathic messages asks:
>So how would you like to call this station..? From what I can estimate at the moment it will cost around 100 Wealth, naturally we are charging only for the materials as you are our best allies and contractors. Nestorium is very happy to receive this STC from you and the once in a millenium opportunity to research Men of Iron technology... Also, would you like to upgrade this station anyhow? This might increase the costs involved.

Your attempts at spying went unnoticed, your Revenants reported that techpriests have indeed hidden some things from you, but not much. However it is true that they are trying to capture functional Men of Iron remnants and ship them off-planet. This is both a heresy, betrayal of your friendship and breach of Mormarkian isolation treaty. Geron looks at you as he gives you the tapes with video footage and asks:
>What are we going to do with this, Master? This tape... It can have great implications.

Well we would need to think about how long to fast forward and what we would do in that time. Plus I seem to recall we have an issue with the Seer that we keep forgetting to do anything about.
Anyway, things to do during the timeskip:
1. Build the Space station.
2. Get that industrial initiative back on track.
3. Help out the Imperial Navy.
4. Deliver that STC to the Raven Guard for lots of monies.
5. Get our chapter back to reasonable numbers.
6. Make the Codex:MoI that details tactics when facing these rare enemies. (First rule, get more marines)

Finishing Colossus will cost around as much as building a space station, between 70 and 180 Wealth. However when finished it could alone fight against a few Emperor Class Titans... Also, you'd need a very skilled engineer for that.
>>21224895
Messiah, or SEED, as you came to know it, seems not to be interested in world beyond it's vault. However something made it go completely crazy and dangerous. Probably the strangest occurence was when a squad of brothers guarding the vault heard strange noises from inside and went in to check it. They were attacked "by the walls and cables" and sergeant Fraktus was nearly ripped in half. His squad had to retreat to the entrance, mourning death of their leader. However just a few minutes after they announced his death, an automated bed rolled out from the Vault, with sergeant, fully healed lying unconscious on it. No one knows what to think of it, but Vault now is a very dangerous and hard to explore place...

Also it would be a good idea to delegate the tasks mentioned to our commanders to see how the handle things aside from their forces. When CM died we had no idea who would be a good replacement, let's see what our men can do without us micro managing. CM himself needs to deal with SEED. so far we are the only one it hasn't flayed and rebuilt. This thing living beneath our monastery is either an immediate problem or untapped potential asset. Do you know how powerful a single chapter fucking is?

Doesn't matter if it was minor they'd NUKE THE SHIT OUT OF THAT PLACE.

I've done it before in Inquisitor when I came accross a single squad of the fucking renegades.

Didn't even bother me that I was killing 5 million innocents with them. There will be more for the Golden Throne.

He watches the tape, then responds:
>Thank you for sharing this with me, Chapter Master. Those responsible will be found and executed, you may worry not. Is there anything else you wish to discuss?
It is a rare sight, but you think that you have for the first time seen an openly emotional techpriest. However it is hard to say whether he changed topic so quickly to hide his frustration at being discovered or shame for being shown the crimes of his colleagues.

We are in desperate times.
We need every marine we can get, If you can find a more suitable punishment aside from execution that would perhaps work better for us.
At any rate, have you heard about the MoI super titan they were constructing?
I would like if possible for this to be finished by your people.
And what sort of upgrades could we consider for the Space Station?

How does meexecuting heretical followers of the Machine affect your numbers?
>At any rate, have you heard about the MoI super titan they were constructing?
I did not. Super-Titan? Where is it? I assume that it's incomplete, if you want us to finish it... I'd need to see it first. For what purpose, do you need a Titan, Grand Master?
>And what sort of upgrades could we consider for the Space Station?
+Ship-building facilities(you will be able to construct other ships or space stations, might generate income)
+Habitation/Trading port facilities(will generate income depending on the contracts you have)
+Orbital-defence focus(immobile defensive station)
+Space fortress(capable of slow warp travel), good for outer system space battles, may be upgraded further with Exterminatus capabilities or repair facilities, imagine space aircraft carrier
+Colonial station(good for colonising new planets, can transport huge amounts of people and help new colonies to sustain themselves until they become autonomous)
+???(we can do many things, just give us ideas of what we should implement)
>>
>>21226884
Isn't it already basically a trading port?
>>
>>21226884
>How does meexecuting heretical followers of the Machine affect your numbers?

>I did not. Super-Titan? Where is it? I assume that it's incomplete, if you want us to finish it... I'd need to see it first. For what purpose, do you need a Titan, Grand Master?
If we had a Super-Titan stationed here, before we the war, fully functional.
I believe the war would have taken a path much more in a favor, I hope that next time we face an enemy here we'll have a major weapon against them, aside from force in numbers
>+???(we can do many things, just give us ideas of what we should implement)
I would, if possible like a long-range cannon capable of firing on any planet in the sub-sector, a large demand but it will help us.
>+Ship-building facilities(you will be able to construct other ships or space stations, might generate income)
>+Habitation/Trading port facilities(will generate income depending on the contracts you have)
How much would these cost?

We should contact the Order of Bloody Tears.

"Though we currently feud over personal ideology, the Emperor-worshiping citizens of Mormark have watched their world burn as a Xenos assault cut off contact with the wider Imperium. Though our chapter triumphed with the support of the world's brave citizens, an Inquisitorial quarantine is preventing the world from bringing in much needed food. Without immediate assistance, the faithful blood spilled upon Mormark in the name of the Emperor and those unable to defend themselves will have been in vain.

As a loyal servant of He on Terra, I beg of you that we put aside our differences to assist the faithful of Mormark so they might survive the dawn of their darkest hour."

2. Drop the whole "don't kill the hertecks" bit, learn some discresion. Also, we don't have the money to rebuild the titan and do everything else we need to do.

It works like this - basic station is one of the options(except for space fortress, this one costs around 250W+), then you may add additional upgrades to it, a few dozen wealth per upgrade. Also, multi-functional station will be less good at performing some of it's other functions. For example a starfort that is also a trading station and a shipyard, might lose it's mobility or require additional investment to make it move again.
>>21226951
>It effects how many people are working to help our people, but do as you wish.
Archeomedes makes a strange face and does not respond. There is no indication what is he planning.

I assume, that project of such kind would have to be dealt directly through the official Nestorian channels... However there's no greater passion in me granted by Omnisiah than engineering. I would like to take a look at it, not officially but from a personal perspective...
>I would, if possible like a long-range cannon capable of firing on any planet in the sub-sector, a large demand but it will help us.
More than possible. Should it be an Exterminatus class weaponry or just something to support the troops? Torpedoes would be an obvious choice, but restocking ammunition will be a constant bother... And they are expensive. However if you would invest into proper energy reactors and fit the station with an energy-based cannon, for example Grandlance system, it could last for eternity. Similar weapons like this were recently deployed in Kaurava by the Tau... If someone would ask me, galactic warfare is returning to positional doctrine, space stations and powerful armaments will play a big role in the next millenia.

I would, if possible like it to be an energy weapon, not quite something as fantastic as an Exterminatus Class however not something as weak for accuracy to matter.

Right now, the station needs to have the trading/habitation section and the shipyard section, with the ability to add more later.

This particular station does not need to be mobile, as that would be horribly inefficient.

Obviously the station doesn't need to be mobile.

Please roll d2 now. On 1 it will be detracted from the cost. On 2... Also, as I remember you have no dedicated engineer or architecture related techmarine serving your chapter, so you will get no bonus for that. And what station was this? Shipyard or Trade hub?
>>21227268
>Sorry, I was never really into the whole Sector/sub-sector crap. You were right at this part, I meant inter-planetary.
I'll clarify this for all of you:
Planets are in the system, they are relatively close on cosmical standarts and revolve around sun or suns.
Groupings of systems are called sub-sectors. They are close enough to jump through warp from one to other in a few days or weeks, so on cosmical standarts they are still quite near. Finally, sub-sectors compose a Sector. These are the main blocks of Imperium, bigger ones being only Segmentum-scale galactic territories.
>>21227296

Seran, your Forgemaster, has no skills or specialisation in either planning, architecture, engineering, spacecraft or any other relevant skill. That's why it's useful to build up your Chapter's assets and hire specialists, sooner or later you will need them...

It's the same for both of them, as building wharfs and docks for merchant ships to anchor themselves are quite similar, so most of the difference between shipyard and trading port is inner planning and facilities. Either one of these will cost you 91 Wealth. Unfortunatelly, I don't remember anyone with suitable backgrounf from your subordinates. You may take a look if you wish, however...
>>
>>21227809
Alrighty then.
Also, shouldn't it cost less than 91?

Damn, just got a break and I'm sad to see it end. Few points for future. Nestorian learners are under the watchful eye of mars due to past beliefs. This super titan could be a great show of knowledge and skill for them at the future trial, but if it too far into MoI tech it could reinforce Mars' assumption of them leaning away from doctrine.

Speak with head magos about our need for ship building, but not wanting the sub par ships we would produce and step on their toes of sector production. Instead we would prefer to sign a contract with them for exclusive rights to produce our naval assets.

Depending on super titans possible heretek we may not need to build the space defense station and instead devote the entire station to supporting the planet and trade wealth. In future we may want to build a separate station for colonization or the mobile defense. Share schematics with nestorian ad Mech so they can produce it as well. In trade for schematic they supply or chapter with a specialist as well as help seran re fit his body with high grade cybernetics since SEED re fleshed him. I'm sure the loss of his true flesh is causing him some mental damage and we need to help him.

As for sisters we need to be cautious, but not to the point we lose the contact for war relief while the planet is quarantine.
