Last time on Mobile X Destiny, Anon-kun organized a day of rest for the girls and himself. When Sayuri and Roslyn arrived, content to skip school on Miyuki's behalf, Anon-kun began making breakfast. Following that, he and the group made their way to the game center/arcade, the idea to lose themselves in video games and fun. As everyone broke away to find a game of their choice, Miyuki found herself a bit confused and lonely, so she decided to tag along with Anon-kun. Knowing Miyuki isn't as fluent in games as he is, Anon-kun started off by showing her a claw game, where he attempted to get her an orca whale plushie. After failing, the two of you browsed around yet again, but he felt the draw to the claw game. Forking up the money for it, Anon-kun attempted five more times, defying all logic by grabbing two plushies at once, then two more before finally calling it quits. One plushie per person, Anon-kun handed out his gifts for everyone. Everyone except for Roslyn, that is, who was nowhere to be found.

Deciding to search for her, Anon-kun stumbled upon a Mobile Suit Gundam: Bonds of the Battlefield tournament, where some of the onlookers are talking about a female contestant that is dominating the battle. To pass the time, Anon-kun decided to join in as well, figuring he'd find out if Roslyn was the topic if conversation or not.

With the gundam straight ahead of you, you can tell it's primarily a long-ranged type by the gun it's holding. You also know the Wing Zero model you're piloting has two primary methods of combat: the beam saber and the twin buster rifle. The rifle is far stronger than the saber, but bother are equally fearsome. You're facing down the opposite gundam when it opens fire. You manage to bring your shield up in time to block any damage from the opponent, leaving you with a few moments. You realize you have your rifle already equipped, so you fire a retalliatory salvo back at the other gundam, but it dodges the attack easily.

You frown, unsure of where to go from here. You look around and see the other gundam up in the air, aiming down its sights, directly at you. You know you only have a few seconds before it opens fire again.

The rifle requires precise timing if you're gonna land hits on an enemy. Assuming our target's not constantly moving, we could possibly land a few hits, then retreat to somewhere safe (provided we're playing on a map with ample amounts of cover).

That being said, it'd be pretty stupid to try and rush with melee against someone in the air, in my opinion. I dunno, I only started playing Gundam VS Gundam last night.

You level your rifle at the gundam and open fire, three shots heading up at an angle to meet your opponent. Two of the three shots fired connect, and you grin as you see the gundam toppling back. "Yes!" That's when you notice the gundam righting itself. You panic for a split second as the rifle in its hand aims at you, then squeezes off two consecutive shots. You try to block them with your shield, but you aren't fast enough as the bolts of energy collide with your gundam's frame, sending you sprawling back.

You sluggishly get your gundam up, but not before you see the gundam rushing you along the ground, its thrusters propelling it forward with great speed. It has its rifle aimed at you again.

You brace yourself, shield in hand, and wait for the perfect moment. The shield is covering you, for the most part, so you should be fine. As soon as you think that, two bolts of energy splash against the shield, saving you from any more structural damage. Hazarding a peek around the corner, you see the gundam is just about within range. Seizing that opportunity, you lash out with your shield in attempt to at least throw it off balance, but you swing wide, missing completely.

You wince when you realize that tactic left you wide open for attack, and that's when the cockpit vibrates as you're pelted with another bolt of energy. Alarms start going off in the cockpit, and a warning shows up on your HUD that you're past 50% damage. What the hell can you even do at this point? This pilot is just dancing around you. It's a bit further away from you now, so you have some space to line up a shot with the rifle if you wanted. Then again, you could always charge with your sword, since it's not too far off.

As you're considering everything, you remember something that the Wing Gundams, Wing Zero included, have: Search Eye. It's supposed to gather data on an opponent and instantly calculate the precise position, movement, and weak points of an opponent. "Why the fuck not?" you mutter. You glance aroudn the HUD for the appropriate activation, and when keyed, you see your HUD change with a green hue as you face down the opponent's gundam.

A few reticles appear on your HUD, hovering over different areas of the opponent's gundam. Small view screens appear, giving you a closer look at the joints and other such areas. Clearly they're weak spots, and there's a good chance you'll do extra damage if you target those. You look at the entire gundam, and from the looks of things, it's going into sniper mode. The forward crown of the gundam lowers, covering the primary optics, and reveals a large mono-ocular sensor on its forehead. The rifle is aimed at you again, and you imagine you have only a few seconds before you have to act.

Putting the rifle away, you switch to your saber and dash toward the rival gundam, making sure to move left and right, doing your best to avoid any incoming fire. One shot manages to leave the sniper rifle barrel, but by the time it's mid-flight, you're already on the far right side of it. You close the gap and slash at the the joints in its knees and at its shoulder. You're rewarded with small explosions arcing across the gundam's frane, and you jump back to watch your handiwork as the gundam lists left and right before catching itself. It turns to you, and you see its face shift back to normal, taking aim at you once more.

It fires, and the round connects before you can do anything. More warnings flare, and you growl in frustration. You can't just sit there and watch the pretty fireworks; you have to constantly move in preparation for another attack. You start dancing around the gundam, saber still in hand. It looks fairly damaged, so you might be able to finish it off if you strike at its last few weak points.

You grin, pushing the thrusters to the max to close the distance with this pilot. It fires another shot, and you move to dodge, but you're clipped on your left side, and you lose your shield in the process. Undeterred, you move past the gundam, slamming your saber into the gundam's face, then pulling it through completely as you land on the other side of the gundam. You turn around in time to see it crumble to the ground and explode, knocking the pilot out of the game. "Hell yeah," you say to yourself.

You glance at the warnings flashing on your HUD. You sustained over 80% damage in that fight. You aren't sure if that's because you're just that good, or if the other pilot was that determined. You scan the battlefield and see other gundams stiill locked in the heat of battle, and as you swap back to your rifle, a stray shot from a nearby fight streaks toward you, connects, and overloads your gundam. GAME OVER flashes on the screen, and it ejects your card for you to collect, which you do. You step back out of the pod and sigh. You look around to see if Roslyn emerges from any of the pods, and to your delight, she does. When she climbs out, people start crowding around her, asking her questions and generally praising her for her battles.

You both configure it to be two people only, and then you arrive at the Gundam menu. You see Wing Zero there again, but there are some others as well.

You're unsure of what kind of gundam she might employ against you, but if it's anything like her Gear's mech form... It will probably have guns. Big guns, at that. You're unsure if you want to keep rolling with what you've used before, or if you want to try and adapt to the situation.

Deciding to change it up, you select Gundam Deathscythe. If anything, it will enable you to avoid any of her attacks, since she won't be able to attack what she can't see, right? The game starts to load up, and you find yourself on a large, sprawling city, full of buildings all over the place. You quickly get yourself acquainted with Deathscythe's features.

It has its signature Beam Scythe, a Buster Shield, dual machine cannons, and dual Vulcan Guns. The scythe is the strongest, and the Buster Shield provides you with extra defense capabilities. The Machine Cannons are decently strong, but not overly so; the Vulcan Guns are shell-firing weapons hidden in the head of the gundam, used against missiles and up-close enemies.

Besides that, it comes equipped with a Hyper Jammer ECM Suite, used for jamming enemy sensors and disrupting missile locks, as well as a self-destruct system. You look across from you and see a red and white gundam, carrying a large rifle. She's using a gundam most like her Mobile Gear. Gundam Heavyarms.

You activate the signal jammer and ready your gundam to move at the slightest provocation. You wonder if she's trying to lock on to you with some of those missiles of hers. You see exactly that, as two homing missiles come spiraling toward you, but they lose direction and smash into each other, harmlessly exploding in a cloud of red and orange fire. You see her level her beam gatling gun at you, and you wait a heartbeat. She opens fire, and as the energy rounds streak toward you with blinding speed, you attempt to dodge out of the way. Unfortunately, you don't move fast enough, and some of them still catch you on the side

You're still holding strong, though. You're moving now, doing your best to keep her from hitting you.

You close the distance from her flank and manage to land two precise slashes across her back, dealing serious damage.

She turns around and throws a punch with her free arm to move you away, which succeeds. You leap back, your scythe at the ready, and she opens fire with her Chest Gatling Guns, scoring direct hits. You stumble back and dive behind cover of the buildings, and you resume your ghost-like movements. You know you can't win in a fight against her in ranged combat, so you have to make sure you stay up close. As you're flipping over her in the air, you take aim with your Machine Cannons and open fire. Rounds tear through Roslyn's gundam like a hot knife through butter, and then a small explosion erupts from one of her shoulders as you detonate one of the Homing Missle launch bays. When you land gracefully atop the other building, you start jumping from rooftop to roofop, keeping out of her line of sight.

You catch a glimpse of movement out of the corner of your eye, and you turn around to see a salvo from her Beam Gatling Gun heading for you. With a quick dodge, though, you evade all damage. That's when you see her open fire with the Chest Gatling Gun as well. You make a leap in the air toward the next building, dodging the first, but you catch rounds from the second salvo. The impact from the blow throws you off balance, and you stumble to catch yourself.

Deciding to keep it fresh, you look at the building you're standing on. It could definitely put a dent into someone, if aimed right... With this idea in mind, you run to one end of the building and jump off, dragging your scythe down at a steep angle, aimed at Roslyn's gundam. You land, and you look up at your handiwork, and the crease you made is torn into by a salvo from her Beam Gatling Gun, then by chain guns. You hear explosions from inside the building, but the building doesn't start to move, leaving you completely open to an attack from the girl in a gundam not too far off. You see her rifle leveled at you, and it looks like it's about to fire.

We're at good health and she's been battered. We also have a convenient shield.

We need to get back out so she doesn't know where we are. Going behind cover gets us pinned, and charging in at this point is still likely to come out worse for us than for her. She's battered, but no so much that I'm willing to put faith in an all-out assault

totally agree here, we havent really reduced her munitions down.

You turn back and dive through the building, using your scythe to cut another hole out of the other end. You you escape the confines of the building, you heave a sigh of relief as you turn around. That's when you hear it.

The sound of missiles.

You check to make sure your jammer is still on -- and it is. What is she doing...? That's when several bolts of energy tear into you, but do little damage. Warning alarms start going off inside the cockpit, and you realize your sensor jammer array was taken clean off. You hear the sound of multiple missile locks on your gundam, and you notice the warning on your HUD: 62% damage.

She plans to let either the missiles destroy your gundam, or let the collateral damage do the dirty work for her. You look up and you can see the missiles coming. There's almost too many to count... And then you realize she unleashed all of her missiles at once. Now that your jammer is gone, they've all got a lock -- on you.

[ ] Try and shoot them down with Vulcan Guns and Machine Cannons
[ ] Use your thrusters to move through the buildings to try and shake the lock or lose them in tight areas

You spin your scythe around to the front, ready to go. With the way things are looking, those missiles will destroy you. You sigh and relax for a moment before throwing the thrusters to max, pushing your gundam forward, directly for her. You start jumping in a diagonal fashion to try and throw the missiles off a little bit. It doesn't do anything. You see Roslyn lining up some more shots, and you start to panic, but you push it away. When you're within range, you leap, bringing your scythe down in an attack, the missiles directly behind you. If you miss, the missiles will take you both out.

It's as if time slows down, and you see the scythe about to cleave into her gundam, when you hear "GAME OVER -- TIE GAME" over the speakers. You see a schematic of Deathscythe appear on screen right next to Heavyarms. Both sit at 62% total damage. The game ejects your card, and you take it reluctantly. When you crawl out of the pod, you see people standing there, gathered around the view screens, and they burst into applause. You glance over and see Roslyn climbing out of her pod, and you notice her tightly holding onto the plush you gave her.

"That was amazing!" one of the guys shout. "Were you the one that was piloting Wing Zeroe earlier!?" "Oh man! You and Reinhardt-san were SO CLOSE!!" You see Miyuki in the crowd grinning at you.

You stroll over to Roslyn and gesture for her to go with you, and she does. The crowd starts getting a bit anxious, andyou push through to Miyuki. You let Roslyn go first, and once they're both clear, you step through and slip your arms into theirs, and the three of you walk off to find the rest of the group. Roslyn looks up at you. "What do we do now?" she asks. "We never had a tie-breaker clause for the bet."

"Good question," you say. "I haven't any idea, to be honest."

"What are you two talking about?" Miyuki asks. "You've got a bet going on?"

"Er... yeah," you say awkwardly.

"Is that why the two of you were playing each other in that game?" When you both nod, Miyuki rolls her eyes playfully. "Since you tied, why don't you split the prize down the middle?" she suggests.

Roslyn looks at you, confused. "Six hours each?" she asks so quietly, you can barely hear her.

"Sounds good to me. Though all major orders must be vetted through an independent party to avoid things like me telling you to go to school with your underwear on the outside and you telling me to walk on my hands and cook with my feet. I suggest Miyuki as arbitrator in this case. Roslyn, do you not agree that Miyuki would make a fair and impartial moderator?

Now due to my win on the first round I would request that the arbitrator grant me another six hours in addition to what I have already won ."

>>21203761
Understandable. Though having Miyuki as arbitrator could be useful. It'll keep us from doing anything overly stupid, and restrict Roslyn as well. Besides she's more likely to take our side on a judgement but Roslyn still sees her as a trustable judge.

"Sounds good to me," you say with a shrug. "That way we both still kind of win."

"Alright~" Roslyn says. "Who should go first, Miyuki?" she asks.

"You," Miyuki says.

"Awesome!" Roslyn grins up at you. "You can start by buying me lunch, Anon-kun."

"Are you sure?" you ask. "I mean, we had breakfast not too long ago... Plus, I got you that cat plush..."

"I don't mean now, i-idiot," she stammers angrily. "But later on, okay?"

"If that is what you wish." Of course you'd get the first six hours. Part of you is happy for it, really. It gives you plenty of time to come up with ideas for her when your time comes. The three of you eventually find Sayuri, who walks in front of you happily.

You feel a tap on your shoulder, and you turn around to see Chiyo directly behind you. "What's up?" she asks cooly.

"Eh, just thinking about a change of scenery," you say off-handedly. "Did you all enjoy yourselves?"

"I did," Sayuri says. "And I got this puppy~" she says, holding up the plush you gave her.

"It was fun," Miyuki says calmly. "I should've tried other games, though," she adds with a chuckle.

"It was a lot of fun," Chiyo agrees.

"Yeah, it was an interesting experience," Roslyn says slyly as she casts a sidelong glance at you. "I enjoyed myself a lot. It's much different from what I'm used to."

"Well, I'm glad you all enjoyed yourselves," you say. "I figure we could head home, maybe play some party games or something." When you say that, thunder rumbles in the sky, and you feel a droplet of rain hit you on the face. "Damn."

"We should head back quickly!" Sayuri says with a giggle.

"Yeah, let's go!"
