You are Sir Daniel, an old hero long dead, or were, until Erik the Lich resurrected you to be his helper.

Fortunately, Erik is the laziest man you've ever known, and only wants to read erotica. But you're a good servant, and want to help your master by clearing the ladder to the top.

Last time you and your apprentices went out across the Sea to find Mark.

On your way you found Gerald at the docks, having created a business empire from the money he made selling the swords you found.

He gave you a small infiltrator ship, which you named the Dancing Knight.

You arrived at a port in the Eastern lands.

You heard from an innkeep that Mark had been made a commander for the war, and was actually waiting for you.

With this information, you joined a caravan to find Mark. It wasn't hard, as the caravan was traveling to Mark's Church's encampment outside the city.

After a little search Mark was found staring out over a battlefield, and all the men he'd led to their deaths.

He and you had a little talk, and he told you that it was his intervention that got you out of the Time Loop.

Mark asked you to do something he should never of even had to think about. He asked you to kill the pope.

Which you did. Though a heart attack.

During the night a new man was elected to lead the church, Pacata the first. A former Knight of the order, now the leader.

He brought you with him to talk to the Patriarch of the city, Hominis.

A new pact was set, and the army was sent home.

You are standing in the City, with Mark and your apprentices, Steve, Gary and SpiderDan.

What do you do?

You ask Mark where Adrian and Clarice have gotten off to.

>"Adrian went off to an Eleven city, Sileo. Clarice followed him to learn some new magics."

If you find Adrian, you find Clarice.

>>21196560
>"I ain't seen 'em fight. But if they're your lads, well, they're probably damned good. The spider fellow, he could be a real game changer. He's got the shock and awe factor, and if he's like his dad, then that web stuff."

>>21196574
You get the lads formed up with you and tell them they're to accompany you to Sileo.

>"I've always wanted to go there, sir. Me ma used to tell me stories about it. Houses built into trees, and a restfulness that no one has ever seen."

Steve seems adamant about it.

>"Sounds alright, but elves, sir? I know you didn't have the best experience with that one elf."
Gary adds.

SpiderDan just looks giddy.

>"I might not be as strong as Daniel, but I think I have more combat experience. Maybe. But I do have far more combat styles, less unorthodox, I've never known anyone but him to weaponise dancing... But I can show you hundred of sword stances."

The lads like the sound of that, if they have many styles of combat they can counter others easier.

You return to the docks, and board your ship.

Mark, the lads, and yourself all board and check for break ins. None found.

>"Oh yes, Adrian gave me a map for when I had finished with the war. It's in my pack."

Mark drops his shoulder pack and roots around in it.

>"It's in here somewhere..."

Mark's tossing things left and right, just dropping them on the deck.

>"Ah ha! Found it!"
Mark lifts a piece of cloth over his head and waves it above him.

You go to your cabin and lay it out on the table, holding the corners down with a knife.

>"See, we're here,"
Mark plops a finger down.
>"And our destination is here,"
He traces it along the map.
>"So we follow this current, and it'll take us right to them."

Sounds good.

"Alright, let's go. There's a few weeks worth of food in the hold, and I'll just grab food from the seas."

You man the helm of the ship as Mark shows the lads new fighting styles, how to counter and parry, how to riposte.

You watch as you steer, as Gary gets faster and fast with his strikes, while Steve learns to move and attack, and while SpiderDan learns how to use those natural abilities of his.

Before long Steve and Gary are immobilized under a thick web of silk.

Mark is trying in vain to cut them free, and before long you have to leave the wheel and tear it apart.

You see a little dot, and it quickly becomes a big dot.

"I fell like having a bit of cruel fun."

You send SpiderDan up the mast to fly the Black, showing that if you capture them you'll show quarter.

>"Daniel, are you sure this is morally right?"

"Yes, we're not going to take anything, this is basically a Public Service, showing the dangers of unprotected sailing."

>"Well, if it's just a lesson..."

"Oh it is."

You put on your three cocked hat and grin.

You sail in close, your dainty little ship is almost nothing in comparison to the massive galley next to you.

"Dan, send up a few silk strings. Give us a way up."

>"Yesh shir."

SpiderDan fires off 5 silk shots that you and your crew climb.

When you board the vessel, the Pearly of Profit, you're greeting by a hoard of men and women, all of them in the finest clothes you've ever seen, and all of them sipping champagne.

"I don't think you understand what's happening right now."

You continue on to the Eleven port of Sileo.

The docks are a bit empty, but there's still trade. You dock in at the end and leave.

"Where exactly is Adrian's family?"

You decide to be as polite as possible, as to increase the creepy factor.

"Well then, Mark, lead us on."

>"Righty ho, off we go."

You, Mark, and your lads walk off along a cobbled street into the city of the Elves.

After a day's walk you begin to hear the sounds of city life through the trees, and know that you're closing in.

>"Daniel, before we go in there, know that these people practice restraint. They have a way of controlling their emotions and what not. So if they ask to check out yours to help, say no, I know what your anger is like."

>>21197517
>"I was out on the docks on day when I was no older than your boys, and I didn't know what to do or where to go. And Adrian comes along and asks if I needed a hand. We traveled together, him searching to restore honour, and I a knight errant. Oh the joys of youth... As for Clarice, she was a slave, a soothsayer that Adrian and I won in a tournament. We set her free and she decided to join us. The rest you know."

You've arrived in the city center, there's a great market square, every type of fruit or vegetable is being sold. Beyond it is the town hall, carved out of the biggest tree you have ever seen.

What do you do?

>>
>>21197570
None of your money has value here, so instead you have to trade with silver chunks and pieces.

You grab a plethora of items for the feast you're going to create without telling them.

"Do you know where I can find Adrian?"

>"I assume you mean the Atopado? It means the Returned in your tongue. He'll be up at his father's villa, follow the red stone road."

The merchant points to a road, that is, infact, Red.

>>
>>21197604
You straighten your hammer and sword, fluff your hat, and polish your helmet.

Then your group walks in formation down the road to the villa.

>>21197609
All around is covered in massive trees, there's enough wood on them to keep a family warm for 10 generations.

But soon they begin to clear, and you see fields stretching out across the flat land. Elves of all sizes are walking along, harvesting the crop.

You can see a large house, it must be the villa, over looking the fields.

>"That's his house, I know the sigil that flies above it."
Mark comments.

You are standing infront of the villa, with a sack of food.

You clean your boots on a bristle mat.

What do you do?
>>
>>21197636
Knock politely. Introduce yourselves and companions and show that you brought the makings of a feast.

>>21197636
Knock clearly and loudly, and then ask about Adrian. Tell him his friend Mark is here.
>>
>>21197652
You knock thrice upon the door.

>"I'll get it."
Comes from a familiar voice inside.

Adrian opens the door, he's no longer wearing his hair braided. He looks up at you.

>"No, no, no no no no no!"
He tries to slam the door shut, but you step forward quickly. Adrian feels like he's trying to push a mountain.

Mark moves past and into the house.

>"Mark? I thought you were in a war?"

>"I was, but Daniel ended it."

Adrian scoffs.
>"How? He murdered the entire enemy army in one night?"

Mark bristles his mustache.
>"Not at all, it was a peaceful solution. Daniel ended it with a few words."

Adrian glares at you.

Before he can give you an essay on why he hates you, another elf walks into the foyer.

>"Oh Adryboo, you're friends! You never told me they were coming!"

>"Only one is my friend, mom. The others are people I know."

>"Oh, Adryboo, don't leave them out there. Come in, come in!"

Adrian's mother ushers you into her house.

"Adrian said that it would be impolite not to, and I didn't want to impose."

>"Oh my... Such a... Gentleman."

>>21197742
>"I've been fine,"
Adrian grates his teeth.
>"Daniel. How have you been?"

"Oh, same old, same old, saving the world, helping the needy, you know. Now about your wonderful mother, her name, perhaps?"

>"Never!"
Adrian hisses.

>"Oh please, Adryboo, you can tell your friends my name. It's Ubera."

"Such a nice name, very distinctive. May we enter?"

>"Oh yes, please, take a seat in the lounge."

Ubera shows you to the lounge room, it's bigger than Erik's library.

You and your crew take a seat on a massive sofa.

Adrian glares at you through unblinking eyes.

You ask if you can help in any way, she tells you that if you want, you could go and fetch a drum of cider for the dinner.

You go down into the larder, and bring a drum up.

>"Thank you, just put it down on the table."

"Tell me about Adryboo's childhood, please?"

>"Oh well, since you asked so nicely... Adry was always a strange child. While the other male-bodied kids were out practicing with swords and shields, running about and climbing trees, Adryboo was writing poems about sunflowers and daffodils."

Oh this is gold.

>"When he went out on his test of valour, he didn't go out and fight monsters or a war, he went out and became a traveling Bard, who liked to fight. I'll admit it was pretty funny, but he used it to his advantage."

>>21198082
>"Oh Daniel, Adry said you could dance, but I never expected that. You move like a water nymph... It reminds me of my childhood, when I'd spend the long summers down at the lake."

>"Tell me, why do you keep your helmet on indoors? Surely it's hot in there."

"Have you ever heard of Don Quixote?"

>"No."

"Well, I'm having the same problem he had."

What do you do?
>>

Ask about how she met her husband, or failing that ask about their stance on non-humans.
>>
>>21198150
Well madam, I wear a helmet for the same reason I became a paladin of Hydra. Sadly to say, it unnerves most people, and I would prefer not to spoil the evening.
>>
>>21198150

"Skin condition. I'm abit selfconcious about it, I hope I'm not being rude by keeping my helmet on?"

"Also what do you think of Clarice? I think she's very pretty."
>>
>>21198209
No no, no Clarice stalking here
>>
>>21198150
Adry's been talking about us?
>>
>>21198150
"I tend to keep it on in deference to people's sensibilities.

I admit I'm caught in a bit of a predicament, keeping a hat or helmet on indoors in quite rude, but my visage is not something meant for polite company such as yourself."
>>
>>21198193
>"Oh, it was so long ago... But I was walking through the woods, gathering the ingredients for blackberry jam. And some rapscallion jumped me and took them. My husband heard me crying and came to my rescue. I've been in love with him ever since."

>"As for non-humans? Takes all sorts to make a world, like a fruit salad. As long as they wipe their feet, they're fine by me."

>>21198199
>"Ah, another time then, you should have nothing to hide in this house, Daniel."

>>21198209
>"She's a nice girl, but she's awful twitchy, and she screams in the night, shouting about the "Winking"."

>>21198224
>"Oh yes, Adry's been nattering on about you, how you and he stormed Kerm and killed Janus, and how the two of you went back to back in Roland's keep. I do hope you looked after him."

Adrian's got an infatuation with you. Aww.

What do you do?
>>
>>21198243
I think we should explaain the winking to Clarice. Perhaps an explanation would help her sleep better
>>
>>21198243
I knew it. I knew the elf was tsundere. I am the romancemancer. It is me.
>>
>>21198243
We should discreetly take our hydra form to join them to dine. Also, invite Clarice.
>>
>>21198243
Ask for some elfish recipes to share with the folks at the manor.
>>21198267
Nah a little trauma makes for stronger mages.
>>
>>21198243
"You're a truly kind person and by the looks of things a magnificent cook. I do my best to look after Adrian when I can.

If you don't mind me asking where is your husband currently?"
>>
>>21198288
Overcoming that trauma makes for stronger mages. And we've put her through a lot, probably more than she could handle as a mere fledgling mage.
>>
>>21198243

Hang on, Adrian really is tsundere for us? I thought it was something we made up as a joke!

We are anonymously getting him daffodils and sunflowers in the morning.
>>
>>21198299
I think the husband is dead dude, better not ask that
>>
>>21198304
If she gets San loss because of blink how does she expect to have her way with reality? Letting her overcome this will make her stronger, and telling her the trick will only hamper her growth.
>>
>>21198355
Yes, but we don't want her going crazy and blowing herself up. She's still a frenemy.
>>
>>21198288
>"I have a big book on them, feel free to copy some down."

>"Looks like it's time for dinner. Help me move some of this stuff into the dining room."

You lift the food and drinks and carry them to the table. You help Ubera set the plates and cutlery.

>>21198299
>"My husband is out on an a political job. Setting up trade routes. He'll be back in a week or two."

Ubera calls everyone into the dining room.

Everyone sits down and takes a bit of food for themselves.

>"Daniel, are you not hungry?"

"Hm, oh, no, but I have two faces, neither are good to be seen at dinner."

>"Believe him mother, I've seen them."

>"Come now Daniel, you're a guest. We can accommodate a little quirkiness. There's a spider knight at the table eating a rack of ribs for goodness sake!"

"Well... Okay."

You activate your Hydra from, feeling the skin and muscle grow, and organs fill your torso. You remove your helmet to the table.

Your apprentices don't actually care, and stuff their faces, Mark's seen it before, along with Adrian.

Ubera looks at you with curious eyes.

>"Lizard man, got it."

"Actually, no. Undead with a gift from his god."

>"Your god gives you the ability to eat dinner? Pretty nice God, I say."

>>21198309
You make a note to order flowers for Adrian.

What do you do?
>>
>>21198309
Fuck anonymously. Leave them on his nightstand with a note. A sincere note.
>>
>>21198374
Pleasant dinner conversation. Ask Adrian what else he's been up to these past 3 years. Should be a bit more civil with his mother at the table.
>>
Just look at these threads.
No wonder we're all sorts of insane.
>>
>>21198367

But if our quest is to kill crazy mages we can make her insane and kill her to make Eric happy!

This is a joke btw.
>>
>>21198374
Talk to Adrian about his days as a bard. Just how did he traverse a possible deadly tower to gain his father's sword back.
>>
>>21198390
Well, our ultimate goal is to have Eric at the top.

We must be prepared, nonetheless.
>>
>>21198374
"Usually I''m just a human skeleton, but I couldn't really eat the lovely repast you have provided should I be in that form. Hydra has blessed me quite a bit. He's a rather kind god.

Thank you very much Ubera for insisting I join you in this manner. It means quite a bit to me.

So Adrian, what have you been up to for the past 3 years. I'm sorry for not being in contact, I was trapped in a forest by a entity that twisted time and forced me to relive the same day hundreds of times."
>>
>>21198416
I thought she was researching clerical magic?
>>
>>21198374

Tell him that his mother told us about his time as a bard and politely ask Adrian if he could grace us with a poem for some nice dinner entertainment.
>>
>>21198437
Adrian can sing, we can dance. Awesome.
>>
>>21198423
Eric is a lich and a necromancer. Albeit not a very active one.
What do you imagine a practitioner of clerical magic has against undead?
>>
>>21198461
They smite EVIL, not undead. We've dealt with this with Mark trying to smite us. Clerical and paladin powers both come from gods, and so far we haven't seen anything that smites anything other than alignment.
>>
>>21198461
Nothing if they know what's good for them. If they want to start something we can negotiate via applied force.
>>
>>21198386
The courses go by as you make pleasant dinner conversation with Adrian.

"So, Adry, remember when you and I took on Janus, together, like with Roland?"

Adrian swallows his food hard and looks a tad flustered.

>"Yeah..."

"I think we should do it again, I've gotten a tip about one called Umbra, no connection to your lovely mother, and you and I should team up like old times. Whadda you say?"

>"I-I-I'll have to decline, Daniel, it's your quest, afterall..."

He glares at his mother.

>>21198405
>"I was a traveling musician, courting fair maidens far and wide. I got into the tower under the cover of night, using my daggers to pick the locks. I used my sneaking skills to move past the guards like a shadow, and I reached the top. Once there I dueled the lord of the tower, and I bested him and took my father's sword."

You know damn well that's a lie.

>>21198437
"How about a poem on some nice daffodils?"

>"How about you go fuck yourself."

>"Adrian! Be nice to our guest! Your poems were always so nice, just one, one for mummy?"

>"Yes mother...
>"I wandered lonely as a cloud
>That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
>When all at once I saw a crowd,
>A host, of golden daffodils;
>Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
>Fluttering and dancing in the breeze."

You wipe away a fake, crocodile tear and clap.

"So moving... Hnngg"

>"I'll end you."

What do you do?
>>
>>21198474
Make a note to ask him in private about what happened. We may need to assist in some revenge on behalf of that fucking elf.

>>21198504

I don't know how I could have managed not to hear his verse before. You must recite more some time.

Ubera, you have my sincerest complements on the stew and the cider is the best thing I have had to drink in over 153 years."
>>
>>21198511
Its more religious than magical for clerics. Although I'd imagine that in this setting they must have some common ground. Maybe with mages, the power driving the spell comes from the caster, but with clerical magic it comes from their patron deity? Would explain how we summmon leviathans and shit.

There's no way in hell he dueled anyone and won, but no need to demean him infront of his mother.
As to the poem I think he's trying to say he wants to come with us.

>"I wandered lonely as a cloud
Lonely as a cloud. Surround by similar things, yet not able to touch them.
>That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
Elves= thinking they are better than others.
>Fluttering and dancing in the breeze."
Dancing. This is pretty clear.
>>
So why do we hate this twerp again?

>>21198557
Because the alternative is to love him?

>>
>>21198606
You allow Mark to finish, and then you ask to tell them a story of your own. You start off with your first ever battle, when you went out to defend the good people from a large band of wargs. From there your tales get darker and darker, you just can't seem to stop.

"Then after I killed their god down below the mountain,"
Your skin recedes and your skull shows through.
"I slaughtered them all. Man, woman, child. All of them fell to my steel."

Before you realize it you're staring into the fire place.

"Then I knelt down and told him it'd be alright, Salin looks relieved, but the wound was fatal. With a single touch I blew him apart and scattered him across his house. I've seen some shit."

You look up and around, no one's saying anything, and a few are holding their breath.

"Oh, right, carry on. I'm going out for some air."

>"But you don't even have lun-"

>"Adry, go with Daniel. He needs company. He's our guest."

>"Yes mother."

You're standing out in the gardens, looking out into the night as Adrian walks up and stands next to you.

>"I never knew you did those things, really. I just thought you killed monsters and stuff."

"I do, not all monsters look like monsters. Nomad, for one. In the end I always show up and kill them."

Adrian says nothing.

What do you do?

"So what really happened with your father's sword?"

"Every single guard?"

>"Yes."

"All of them?"

>"Yesss."

"Damn..."

>"I know."

What do you do?
>>
>>21198689
we do things in this life that we arent proud of, but we know they are the right thing to do, and someone must, the hard choices are what defines us, but sometimes, they are worth it, for the child's life you saved, and the gratitude you see in the mother's face, but those moments are coming less and less.
sure i have my fun, but you have to , to keep a grip on the last shreds of sanity that keep me on the path of justice.
but enough about me , how did you really get your fathers sword, because there is one thing i have learned, lying never works out well

Have an awkward silence.

"Adrian. Am I a monster?"

Adrian does not like killing, I don't think we should pressure him into coming.
>>
>>21198725
"And that's why people like you and me should lie about our stories. I'm just too fucked in the head to lie about it any more. When I was all fleshy I lied my ass off, didn't tell any of the pretty barmaids or shepardesses about what really happened.

You know, you're one of the few people who I consider a friend and you hate me most of the time. I literally tore someone's soul apart and scattered it so he would never rest in peace.

Am I a monster? Does the fact that I only go after bad people actually make me any better than them? Hell I seek them out so I can kill things and not feel bad about it.
>>
>>21198774
I was suggesting he come in case we need the skills of a thief.
>>
>>21198784

We can also train him to a be a fighter, perhaps teach him a variety of stunning blows or something.
>>

Or we could use his skills as a bard to bolster our dances.
>>
>>21198797

When I'm near you all I feel is hatred, anger and depression. The anger most of all, if I had the option of having a bath in lava, or being on the receiving end of /that/, I'd take the lava."

Adrian sighs.

>"Yes, Daniel, you are a monster. But that doesn't make you evil. You do things that no other man would even think about, but you know they need to be done. And for that I thank you."

>>21198764
>"If you could see yourself the way I see you, the way your soul looks, Daniel, how can you even stand your own existence?"

Night Op. There was a lot of development today. Adrian's character seems really interesting and stuff instead of just a comic relief we get to mess with. I'm sorta looking forward to Clarice's arc but from that slavery comment I'm guessing it'll be very sad.

>she'll get over it
Phew, was worried for a moment there
>>
>>21199350
No. Would you like to know why?

I have the accent you lot cream yourselves over.

>>21199359
Really powerful Bandit made himself a king, tried to forge a kingdom. You stopped him before he could take down any more towns and villages.

You both died with each other's swords in you.
>>
>>21199364
>>21199366
We've been over this, we're not going to seduce her. We must woo the lady to get that die down from a d10000. And anyways, you heard Adrian. He/she fucked an entire guard tower unconscious.
>>
>>21199376

Our last words?

"No homo."
>>
>>21199395
More like;
"Oh you cunt."
>>
>>21199376
In each other's places, we both have dat foreigner charm.
>>
>>21199376
I wonder if we're going to run into that fucker again.

>>21199366
>>21199364
Don't try to seduce Clarice, we've caused enough damage. We apologize, ask how she's been, make sure she's doing okay, and see if she wants to go kill someone with us.
>>
>>21199404
>He thinks he'd have foreign charm here in Old Blighty
>As an American

Oh man, that is so wrong. Well, depends on the state.
>>
>>21199417
Its simple, I just have to not be a complete twat.
>>
>>21199429
Which state are you from?
>>
>>21199417
I'll never have foreigner charm. I'm from the area of the US where we have no accent. Our accent is a lack of accent. Everything is enunciated properly, no weird lilts or drops of tone, we sound like news reporters.
>>
>>21199433
I'm from all over the place. Montana, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Mississippi, Texas. Didn't spend much time in the last two. They're all vastly different places, and it did a good job of teaching me how to be well-liked when I'm out of my element.
>>
>>21199451

I know that feel bro. I live up in the Northwest and was originally from California. No accent whatsoever.
>>
>>21199464
>Texas

Oh good Lord you'd be torn apart here. Even visiting that place is ground for a verbal duel.
>>
>>21199475
So don't mention having set foot in Texas, got it.
>>
>>21199482
The rest is fine, California is a good conversation starter, use that. Then wake up covered in wenches.
>>
>>21199417
I don't need no accent. I got dat maple syrup, eh?
>>
>>21199497
>Canadian

We like you guys.
>>
>>21199486
Perfect. I take it I should avoid the unholy hell out of mentioning anything gun related then?
>>
>>21199508
No, actually. Guns are pretty popular. There's several political movements to allow guns again in the UK, and you can actually own them providing you have a licence.
>>
>>21199230
time marches silently on never forgiving or forgetting. it creates forgotten memories and lives in endless entropy forever continuing onwards, marching towards infinity.
>>
>>21199522
I don't think you realise some of those words shouldn't be in that sentence.
>>
>>21199519
Should I just confess to owning one or two back home offhand then?
>>
>>21199541
Yes.
>>
>>21199541
Only one or two? Pleb.
>>
>>21199563
All of them, serf.
>>
>>21199550
Perfect. Now, in return, all you really need to know about american girls is to be a bit of a douche and sound as accenty as you possibly can.
>>
>>21199563
I have 5 in total, I just don't want to come off as being TOO into them. Just enough to be intriguing, not enough to be scary
>>
>>21199539
i am a verbal contradictory of existence!
>>
>>21199602
Once again... There's something wrong with that sentence.
>>
>>21199583
pistols, rifles, shotguns, other?
>>
>>21199611
I'm good at other stuff though, like prompting bad/good ideas
>>
>>21199504
We like you too.
>>
>>21199615
Rifles, picking up a shotgun soon. Under 21, so can not into pistols yet.
>>
>>21199633
awesome, i would get a pistol but im a lazy/poor person
>>
>We get 2 litres here in america for $0.99. You know you're jealous.
It's even cheaper up in Canada but it's all made with corn syrup which is gross.
>>
>>21200481
that "mexican" brand is tasty made with 'cane sugar' supposedly.
>>
>>21199486
How do you feel about Washington?
