You are Sir Daniel, an old hero long dead, or were, until Erik the Lich resurrected you to be his helper.

Fortunately, Erik is the laziest man you've ever known, and only wants to read erotica. But you're a good servant, and want to help your master by clearing the ladder to the top.

Last time you journeyed out to find your frenemies. This resulted in you meeting up with Gerald the Green, to hitch a ride on his ship.

Before setting off you went on a sea looting mission, you found a weapon crate and looted it, giving you a nice new warhammer and sword, and the crew a good amount of money.

You left the boat and traveled over the desert to a mountain valley.

The little town didn't want anything to do with you, and they sent you off without much help.

In the woods you found a ginger bread house, and a witch that didn't have the decency to obey social norms.

You left her house and found the Dragon's lair. The dragon, Libro, was a dragon that valued the written word as his treasure.

You didn't fight him to save your frenemies, as they were playing chess with him.

Your blood lust was slaked, though. In the form of another champion of some god. A perfect example of lawful stupid, and didn't bother to talk.

He was abandoned by his god for failure, and you decompressed him.

You are standing out in the mouth of the mountain, the armour of the opposing champion having turned to stone, along with his sword.

Adrian is bitching at something, and Clarice has gone to challenge Libro for another game of chess.

You feel the fire grow behind you, spreading out of control and onto the ground. Eight different patches of flame are slithering around and lighting all the touch. The creatures in the dark try to get away, but the fire is too fast, even for them.

They all burn to cinder, the only reason you live through it is because there's nothing on you to burn.

You see tree roots connecting to each of them.

What ever evil is controlling this place, it's controlling those corpses too.
