Strider is a blur of motion as his cypher slashes into the corrupt form of Chaosbringer again and again, increasing in speed until he seems to split into many different copies of himself, hurling the torso half of the SUE into the air and slicing through it many times. The devastating attack fails to slay the monster due to Chaosbringer's incredibly resistance to all forms of damage save holy, but it does leave him open. Cheryl telekinetically grabs the torso half and slams it down to the ground in front of her.

"I've been practicing a new trick," she says, grinning. "Think I'll test a focused blowout on you!"

Cheryl screams and a cone of noosphere energy, the raw stuff of creation blasts from her to rip into Chaosbringer, pulping the torso half until only a slimy dark goo and shadows are left. Whatever she was planning, it doesn't work. Venus whirls around and catches the spear deftly, twirling it around before throwing it back at Sonya. The weapon impales her through the chest. Ringil shears off the tentacles on his left side and leaves him open for yet another followup attack as Strider moves in with his Cypher, and Finalon dances in with the Nameless Blade.

"Heaven's wish to purify minds..." Agrias intones as she raises Gurthang. "Holy Explosion!"

The blast of purifying energy channeled through the Time Cleaver explodes from underneath Chaosbringer, erasing him from existence as a last anguished howl emits from the many mouths that bubble up and melt away on his last form.

As the dust from the last attack clears, the cost of that last attack becomes clear.

Of your forces occupying the city, 15 Baneblades have been slagged beyond any hope of repair, and a further 20 have been heavily damaged due to their proximity to ground zero. The Al'Kesh carrying BLU Sniper was torn apart by the attack, as were the Mad Cats. 2 Tomahawk Destroids were lost as well, though the remaining 4 survived with heavy damage. The Zombie Hunters were wiped out to the last man. The MI squads survive with serious damage, but used their jump jets to maximum to leap to the very edge of the effect, where it was not as strong. They take no casualties. The X-COM forces lose 4 normal squads to the attack and a full half of the Dystopian Squad was slain. Finally, the Knights Inductor lost a full Devastator and a full Tactical Squad.


Those who escaped the devastation with only severe injuries are Bruce, Regina, Strider Hiryu, Douglas, Okku, Darius, and Shepard.

Tosh managed to throw up his psionic shield in the split second it took for Hotaru to charge her attack, he is moderately injured.

Only Cheryl makes it through with light damage due to her TK-Field.

Agrias, Elaine, Lyla, Finalon, Sonya, Alicia, Lavian, and the Starfox team are dead.

Spike lingers long enough before dying to whisper a single word to the sky.

Basically if we are trying to buy time to get ourselves back into something resembling a fighting stance, those are the closest things on hand to act as a buffer. They probably won't do much damage, if any, but they will at least hinder the remaining aberrations. Plus there were literally billions of them. In the off chance even 99 percent were wiped out, we still have more than can fit in this room.

Cheryl stares Mercury down and clenches her fists. The blue sailor scout grimaces and chokes in pain as her heart is crushed by telekinetic force.

"Oh no you don't!" Usagi shouts, activating her Star Sapphire Ring to counter Cheryl's telekinesis. The will of the Nightmare Queen and the survivor of Silent Hill contend for a few tense moments before Cheryl pulls a dirty trick. While the Ring focuses on countering Cheryl's telekinesis, she reaches out and manipulates Mercury's body to throw her into a massive series of spasms and convulsions, overloading her body and making her own muscles tear herself apart. Her heart explodes from a massive aneurysm as Usagi screams in terror.

Tosh fires first, a steady burst of gauss rifle fire that Mars summons a yellow shield to block. Injuring her was not its purpose though, as Bruce and Regina move to her flanks.

"Target locked!" Regina calls as she fires her missile launcher.

"Eat this!" Bruce hoots as he fires the bulky lightning cannon he always has on him. Sailor Mars turns to catch the missile on the shield, but leaves her back exposed to the bursts of lightning. She lets out a feral yowl as her back is scorched and her muscles spasm. Then a stream of machinegun rounds slams into her as Shepard charges, firing his SAW. The modified M249 rounds pulp and tear apart a gory hole in her torso as the soldier closes the distance to point blank. Mars lashes out with her tail to grab the machinegun from Shepard's hands, but he lets it go, smoothly drawing his desert eagle and emptying the magazine into Mars' chest. The corrupted cat-scout yowls and hisses, lashing out at Shepard, refusing to die. As her claws impact uselessly against the PCV's power field, Shepard drops the gun and instead lunges forward. Eyes maddened, Shepard grabs Mars by the throat, ignoring the claws that were slowly draining his protective field until finally slicing deep lacerations into his arms. Mars gasps and chokes as Shepard silently tightens his grip. Finally an audible crunch is heard, and Mars goes limp. Shepard drops the corpse and steps back to retrieve his weapons.

The remaining YVH droids attempt to dogpile onto Jupiter, and predictably, she sends a wave of lightning to meet them. The droids are destroyed to the last robot, but the detonation of their armaments catch Jupiter in the blast, severely wounding the thunder wielder.

Neptune summons a watery tide of energy from the ground to smash into Darius and Star-Lord, knocking them back. Peter breaks a few bones from the impact and Darius' armor is cracked in several places, but neither fall.

Sailor Moon screams as her fur and flesh is burnt up by Cheryl's power, telekinesis clamping down on her to prevent her from moving. Vitun's Energy Drain spell strikes her at this moment, sucking away a great deal of her vitality. Usagi attempts to use her power ring, but with the intense pain she is under, she finds it impossible to summon the love needed to get the ring to function.

The healing spell repairs Hiryu and Ryu's flesh only for it to be torn open again as Saturn drives her glaive into the ground. A massive wall of crackling energy erupts towards the two, dissolving into many slicing ribbons on contact. The wave continues on to cut deeply into Shepard and Spike, blood seeping from almost bone deep wounds.

Still dazed from the explosion of the droids, Tosh, Shepard, Spike, Douglas, Regina, and Bruce fire everything they've got at the thunder warrior. The salvo tears her apart, but not before she manages one last lightning strike which gives Tosh and Douglas a nasty burn.

Okku bowls Venus over, managing to inflict several deep gashes with his claws before she recovers and rolls away, gesturing with her hand.

"Venus Wink Chain SWORD!" she shouts, her chain reforming into a shimmering sword of light that buries itself in the bear. Okku roars, but continues on despite the burning blade stuck in him. Venus growls.

"WHY WON'T YOU DIE?!"

The ground begins to shake around the battlefield as the AUH detects a space-time disturbance in the area.

She erects another Silence Wall to deflect the gunfire attacks, but when the Wall fades. Ryu and Hiryu are there, laying into her with ninja blade and plasma sword. A Stasis Sword from Agrias slows her down even more, while Star-Lord fires a burst that catches her in the side. Finally, Ryu knocks her into the air and slices her to bits with a spinning jump slash attack. Her glaive clatters to the ground and vanishes as her body disintegrates.

A dark shape suddenly bursts up from the temple rubble. Huge wings, a hulking figure, and a sinuous tail emerge as crimson eyes look over the ruins.

"I am bidden to kill," the giant red and black winged demon rumbles as he sends a wave of dark energy over the battlefield. Crushing gravity pulls everyone down to the ground with immense force, breaking bones, tearing flesh, and causing pain.

Venus reaches Sylph and attempts to bite through the gown on her front, but her fangs break upon contact with the flimsy looking material. Sylph laughs lightly as the demonic scout falls back, clutching a bloody mouth.

"Well, this isn't just any old rag," she says, sweetly. "It's meant for combat, my own design."

Venus snarls and attempts to bum rush Sylph again, but just before she reaches her, a tower shield and sword materialize in the merchant's hands. Sylph blocks the charge with the shield and then lunges forward with the blade, forcing Venus back yet again.

"Oh my, can't have someone like you trying to steal my precious store!" she cheerfully says. "But I've got a ton of buyers who'd pay top dollar for Sailor V relics! I hope I can take you down without damaging that get up of yours any further..."

Aeshma and the White Mages heal as many people as they can as Vitun manages to open his own Gate, producing a pair of Solars whom he swiftly directs at Diablos.

Diablos roars with rage as shadow boil over and cascade onto Tosh. The Spectre lets out a blood curdling scream as the life leaves his body, falling to the ground. Then Elaine and Lyla catch him with a Holy and a Slow, the beast's movements reduced in speed enough for the pure light to sear him badly. A Holy Explosion adds to the damage as Darius, Star-Lord, and Finalon circle the enemy and slash at him with their magical swords. Diabolos lashes out and wounds Darius and Agrias, but they remain standing, having faced similar foes before.

"What... What is this... You cannot..." the demon suddenly roars as he freezes in place. Cheryl grimaces.

"He's pretty tough, dunno how long I can keep him pinned!" she calls out.

"Long enough," one of the Solars replies in a deep, golden voice.

The Solars draw great shining bows that create burning arrows of pure light when drawn. The pure projectiles sail through the air to sink deep into Diablos' hide, causing the demon to roar and slowly disintegrate.

Venus comes at Sylph yet again, desperate to reach the possible exit the shop offers. Sylph leaps into the air as a gigantic robotic fist rips through a short-lived space-time gate to punch Venus full in the face. The scout is sent sailing right before Okku, who chuckles darkly.

"Your flesh is so corrupted and reeking of darkness I can barely stand to sink my teeth into you, nor stain my fur with your blood. Still. As needs must."

Venus' last words are more of a scream as Okku mauls her, finally able to bring the brunt of his strength against the formerly agile foe.
