In the tragic beauty of the 41st millennium, there is only angst.

What if instead of being designed with the stereotypical male geek in mind, Warhammer 40K was designed for stereotypical female geeks (you all know the type: anime t-shirt, vampire fangirl, claims to be pagan, self-diagnosed bipolar instead of asperger's, the deal)

Let the pale effiminate space marines and poetically bloody roses begin.
>>
Sisters of battle gain there power from embracing there inner darkness in a way only a female can
they are also the most powerful things in the universe
>>
If in this universe the space marines look like eldar... what do the eldar look like? What do eldar WOMEN look like? How feminine can you get?

What about the 'nids and orks? They're too ugly and un-romantic to exist in this universe. Unless you turn the orks into native american expies who are actually deep and one with the land and are just brutalized by the cruel patriarchal imperium...
>>
You guys are dumb. 40K for women would just have everyone be gay and all the females be Mary Sue or geek self inserts.

Not that much really changes - Nids and Orks stays the same, so does Necrons - they are the bad guys to defeat and destroy.

Eldars and Dark Eldars gets molded into one race together, the dark, mysterious and extremely dangerous - codexes claims they are evil right and left, but in a way that puts them into "bad boy" territory - they are exotic, tempting kind evil.

Space Marines comes in different body types, they probably don't ook so dam ridiculous (no shoulderpads), some chapters may not exist (Space Wolves), some might have been given to Sisters of Battle (Grey Knights), romance between Marines and Sisters is either common and accepted or treated as tabu, probably on chapter to chapter basis. Some shit like Khornatine Knights never happened.

There are far more women on every position, including among Inquisition and Tech-Priests. Some Primarchs could have been female, I can see Horus as a woman, with story putting more emphasis on her doubts and reasons for betrayal, making her more ambigious and tragic figure. Her Heresy put an end to female primarchs and space marines, they wouldn't let women on any position at all if it wasn't for Roboute Guillman, either last female Primarch OR Primarch who saw it necessary to employ women en masse and wrote some laws to make sure it will be so.

God Emperor is still male, seen as sorta father figure by Sisters of Battle. Or, if you want to go Zimmer-Bradley, God-Emperor is female but Starchild theory is very true. Starchild is male and WILL turn into Star Father (who read Shape Of The Nightmare To Come knows what I'm talking about).

Chaos is more subtle, preffering to win by manipulation, all gods play games with each other and everybody else (even Khorne, who now sets up his own servants against one another so the strongest will survive). To fight it's infulence you don't need to be stick-in-the-ass fanatic, but you need to understand the darkness in your soul and work on improving yourself. What that means vary from person to person, some may need to become as horrible ans our 40k's Inquisitors.

Also, it's not battle game, it's bunch of RPGs, more akin to Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader.

There may be also, that's gonna suprise you, some Straw Feminist chapter, probably among Inquisition - dunno, group of Sisters that hate all men, seen by other chapters as fanatics and maniacs. I noticed that some women really like this trope, even feminists (Fiovannar Tapestry has one of the most obvious Straw Feminists I seen (at least in The Summer Tree, maybe she gets better later) and recommendation from Marion Zimmer-Bradley, who wrote feminist bible "Mists Of Avalon", on the cover)

In Warhammer Fantasy:

Empire becomes even more anachronistic, with fashion and culture progressing some two hundred years forward so there can be fabulous balls and masquerades.

Noblemen are all beautiful and have perfect teeth and hair, though no less treacherous. Peasants have a 1 in 10 chance of being ruggedly handsome and also having perfect teeth.

And there would be werewolves in the game, because there are vampires and how can you have vampires without werewolves?

>>
>>21106896

>>
>>21106964

No, the male equivalent to fantasizing about being beautiful is being powerful. Hence space marines.

It's why people consider Eragon the "male Twilight". Instead of allowing a fat, insecure girl who's mocked for being an ugly bookworm to imagine that she's beautiful and has a great boyfriend, it allows a fat, insecure boy who's mocked for being an unathletic bookworm imagine that he's an invincible dragon-riding swordmaster killing monsters.
>>
>>21106992
There is one thing redeemable about Eragon:
I like the magic system, the idea of spellcasters basically being restricted by how much energy is in their own bodies and how well they can access that energy is a pretty cool concept.
>>
>>21106992

Except that one is sexualized and the other is a male power fantasy. Realistically both are male fantasies. Nice try though.
>>
>>21107015

I don't know, if it was a male fantasy, surely there would have been more guys reading Twilight, rather than one creepy dude for every ten thousand squeeing ladies? SOMETHING about Twilight appeals to them.
>>
>>21107028
The self insert. The protagonist in Twilight has absolutely no persona of her own, so everybody has easier time to imagine themselves with these perfect boyfriends.
>>
>>21107028

SPACE MARINES are a male power fantasy. Eragon is a male power fantasy. Women wanting to be beautiful to meet your standards of attraction/general male attraction is a male sexual fantasy (and also bullshit.)
>>
>>21107015
But most girls want to be beautiful. Being a pretty girl means guys want you, other girls are jealous of you and your life is easy.
>>
>>21107036

So why are women the predominant readers of Fifty Shades of Gray Knight and Twilight? Do they read it because men have decreed it so, and therefore they must please our sexual fantasies by lapping up every last line about Fabio's magnificent gilded penis and how his burning eyes ravished Frizeldaninagesha's pure, virginal body?

Yeah, no, my grandmother burned through more than enough Harlequin Romances in her time for me to buy that shit.
>>
>>21107051
>>21107036
>>21107035

That's the thing. You may call it a male fantasy, but ultimately that's what easily influenced, insecure little girls want. You can't really deny that. They fantasize about being beautiful as much as weak boys fantasize about being strong. It's what society tells them (or at least, what they hear it telling them) they should strive to be.

Okay...okay. All this sounds very, VERY familiar to me.

And I have the really, REALLY strong feeling that the...damn, I'm not sure how to articulate this.

Why does steriotypical female writing suck so much? I don't think I've ever read any "male" literature written before 1950 that's quite as bad as what's being described here.

All these examples, and the two women I've gamed with, have this extremely strong sense of...serious, un-self-aware egotism. Everything you write and do is awesome and people should care about it because YOU wrote it.

to take a 40K example, Ciaphas cain is full of cool and interesting female characters who do in fact exist as something other than sexual conquests for the main character, and even then, he's not exactly the dominant one (he's kind of Amberly's bitch).

To make a character interesting, you actually need to give them interesting traits, not just SAY that they're dark and mysterious.
>>
Can we get more funny female warhammer ideas, and less serious discussion of social roles and whatnot? I can already see this starting to go in a bad direction, and this thread's been good so far.

As far as I see, this is all a parody or however you'd like to call it anyway. I doubt anyone here actually thinks those things about women or men. So why not just be friendly?
>>
>>21107132
Because, while women can detect and appreciate humor, they often can't produce it themselves.
>>
>>21107132

>Who is Lord Byron and why are all his heroes so dark and mysterious
>>
>>21107223
It's because when writers start doing works for women, they just try to make something that will make girls swoon instead of making a compelling story with good writing. When they try the latter it's pretty much as good as male fiction.
>>
>>21107184
>>Written before 1950

Of course there's tons of really, really shitty "male" fiction, but I never personally encounter much of it; I read stuff that's...you know...Good, "male" or otherwise. But, whenever I encounter anything popular solely among women. it's almost always really, really shitty.

OOOH, wait, I have it:

the average Woman reads more than the average man. But, most people are stupid and have terrible taste. So, while stupid men just don't read anything, stupid women read twilight.

But they didn't reconcile. At the end of it, the two families are fighting over who gets to set up the cooler and better memorial for the two.

Which will, inevitably, lead back to other problems, causing more murder, causing more shit.

I'm a little shocked this hasn't been brought up, but consider the following:

Sisters of Battle are women, possibly young women who put on heavily decorated outfits and team up with a group of their fellow young women to battle evil, or possibly injustice. Furthermore, when they put on their very ostentatious uniforms they gain the power to perform miracles, but only if they believe in themselves and their cause hard enough.

I'm saying that Sisters of Battle are one adorable mascot away from being magical girls, with all of the associated tropes.

New Chapter: The Twilight Watchers.

Their geneseed flaw causes them to develop an unhealthy obsession with certain people, resulting in them spending hours stalking them and climbing up their bedroom windows to watch all night long. They also sparkle.

Actually we could probably do 40k like the Avengers movie and bitches would love it.

First make one dark pretty boy who turned to chaos for reasons that will give him pity points.

Then you make a mixed team of Space Marines, IG, a psyker, and a Sister of Battle that the main focus is on. The men in the team are snarky attractive older men while the SoB is sexy in a less cleavage, more catsuit way who is smart and somewhat good in a fight.

Play up this team as the sort of "main story" of the new 40k, and have each of the characters backstories delve into the lore of the individual factions.

Rome fell because it didn't conquer enough later on in its lifetime and its legions were watered down too far with foreigners. OC, up in this motherfucker.

It was another grim, dark day on Terra. In the tragic beauty of the 41st Millenium, after all, there is only angst.

Angst would be one of many words to describe Abadda's emotions that morning as she woke up. Her eyes, limpid pools of emerals, were red, the result of yet another sleep-deprived night. She was getting worse, after meeting that... that -other- Primarch. She had yet to tell Roberta about him, even though they were best friends, each other's true confidants, bound by their mutual bashfulness. She clamped her eyes shut, as glimpses of Roberta flooded her mind.

Their first meeting, after she the blue-clad girl dropped her pauldron. They had spent hours talking, and for the first time in her life Abadda felt she had met a kindred soul. She never managed to find words to describe the way her gene-seed was a-flutter after that first meeting.

That time when Roberta had come crying to her, after that bastard Sanguinius stole her favourite picture of the Empress, and how she consoled her sobbing friend, and reminded her that she was a strong, confident woman, who didn't need no man.

I know, it sucks, sorry about that

>>21124452
You asked for some help on WH40k lore. I should pitch in with some:

Abbadon is not a Primarch. His Primarch was Horus. I do not recommend feminising Horus' moniker.

Sanguinius was the prettiest of the Primarchs and the Emperor's favourite. This should be useful.

Bob-Billy (no idea why people use "Girlyman" when you can just translate him) was a notorious martinet.

One way to avoid the canon would be to write about the Sisters of Battle. Very little is done with them compared to the Space Marines.
>>
>>21124551
Oh. I could use Cora (from Corax) instead of Abadda.
I don't know ANYTHING (as opposed to "bits n pieces" that I know about Mehreens) about the Sisters though, and I kinda like them so I'd feel bad about writing shitty stuff about them (similar reason why I won't use Vulkan or Rogal Dorn).
About the martinet thing, I dunno... Maybe Leona (from Lion El Johnson)?
>>
keep Lionell Johnson a dude just make him gay like his namesake chicks dig that stuff. As for sisters there is not much, they were founded in the age of strife( era between the hours hearsey and now) after a civil war in the church. the church still wanted an army after there defeat and because a loophole allowed the church to keep "no men under arms" they made nuns with guns. sisters are highly devoted to the god emperor and hate psykers, mutants, and heresey, They view the guard as weak and the space marines as no better than abhumans (acceptible mutants), and themselves and by extension the church as true servants of the emperor.
>>
also the sisters are well trained, equiped, and fanatical rather than superhumans like marines

>>
>>21126629
So, how do we fix that?
>>
the war wouldnt be one of great big titans and war machines and space marines. it would be smaller factions, rather than armies who battle for supremacy using magic, and occasional sword fighting. chicks like the self insert of being able to win a fight without being physical.

the horus heresy would be more like this; the emperor is a female, and horus is her dad. the dad was absent throughout the empress' childhood, but feels compelled to try and stop the empress' ascension to the throne because he feels a girl cant handle the responsibility...the ensuing war is fought between those who believe the empress has the right to rule, and those who believe horus was right to take the throne on her behalf. the warbands in support of the empress arent exclusively female; dark, edgy, brooding males are the muscle of the warbands, while witches and sorceresses are the main characters. and female foot soldiers are needed to "power" the sorceresses abilities.

horus' warbands are made up of dad figures and rebellious looking guys you would want to go out with to piss your dad off. they dont have magic or conjuring powers, but have superior weaponry.

magic is overpowered in the game, horus can never win a scenario convincingly.

eldar and other races remain marginally unchanged, but serve as "support troops" that can be taken as mercenaries or allies.

apologies for poor writing, im still asleep.

captcha; the ahoroc. sounds like a xeno race.

It was another grim, dark day on Terra. In the tragic beauty of the 41st Millenium, after all, there is only angst.

Angst would be one of many words to describe Cora's emotions that morning as she woke up. Her eyes, limpid pools of emeralds, were red, the result of yet another sleep-deprived night. She was getting worse, after meeting that... that -other- Primarch. She had yet to tell Roberta about her thoughts, even though they were best friends, each other's true confidants, bound by their mutual bashfulness. She clamped her eyes shut, as glimpses of Roberta flooded her mind.

Their first meeting, after she the blue-clad girl dropped her pauldron. They had spent hours talking, and for the first time in her life Cora felt she had met a kindred soul.

Their feminine bond had grown that day, and she realized that Roberta was her first true, actual friend.

Slowly, she managed to force her eyes open, overcoming the momentary dread. The deep jade of her irises was still framed by branches of red, as usual. She performed her habitual morning rites with familiar reverence, then went off to the Academy, where she would find Roberta... And, she realized suddenly, Lionel. The other Primarch. Empress, she couldn't stand the sight of him, no matter how easy on the eyes he was.
>>
>>21134953
The day had been going reasonably well, until it was time for the post-lunch free-time. As was their habit, Cora and her friend slinked off to a corner, their backs turned to the other 'cliques' of Primarchs. They were engaged in a hushed discussion, ehen they were quite rudely interrupted by a voice they both knew all too well.
"Whassamatter, Man-girly? Avoiding us, are you?"
Even before Cora turned around, she knew whom she would see. The usual gang of Lionel, Sanguinius, Alpharion and Leman Russ. Troublemakers, each and every one of them a bad boy, under the 'leadership' of Lionel 'the Lion' Johnson.
"Shut up, Johnson. Why don't you fuck off back to your bromance?"
"He wasn't talking to you, Crowface.", spat Alpharion, his ugly mug twisting into a smile.
"Leave her alone, Alph. She's not worth your time."
The men ignored her growl and turned back to Roberta, who was struggling to maintain composure.
"So, Sang here was just talking about you. Do you want to know what he said?"
"Ng... No. Go away." Then, to the pretty boy. "Why are you doing this? Are you that much of a petty bastard?"
Everyone could guess what she was referring to. It had been a bad idea from the start, and Cora didn't want to remember.
"Yes, yes I am. Especially to girls like you, who won't give what they owe me. I found some stuff of mine, but you won't retirn my calls. Fucking disgrace..."
The girl sighed, and hung her head in defeat.
"Fine... I'll vox you after supper... Bloody magpie..."
>>
>>21134966
Luckily, the rowdy men were too busy laughing to hear that last one. They wouldn't have acted on it, even if they had. Rogal Dorn and Vulkan had positioned themselves nearby, as a subtle warning to the boys.

Leman Russ gave them a slight nod, and turned to walk away
The others followed suit, with Lionel being the last to depart, after he let his eyes linger on Cora for just a heartbeat too long. It was very peculiar, especially when she realized that his cheer had been lost.

The girls went up to the two boys and thanked them, ignoring their humble nonsense about coincidence, and asked about Ferrus Manus, who usually was part of the group. They could squeeze no more information other than the fact that his plans were with Magna the Red.
They kept up the small-talk between themselves, but something was amiss. The signal for the end of the academic day was a relief to Cora, who wanted to do nothing except think, and get her feelings in order.

The wight of her home was always a welcome sight. The silhouette of a man outside her front door, however, was not.

This last part (from the laughing thing until now) was re-written in a haste because of a save issue, I'll work on it after I get done with a thing.

As far as I can tell from my own experience a lot of girls aren't very kin on "Always Chaotic Evil" races who are just guys to kill. Obviously their implants would be a lot more subtle, or maybe even aesthetic, in away. A lot more focus on nanotechnology, probably. Alternatively, they could become even more obviously villainous, because they are both ugly AND harm the environment on their forge-worlds.
>>

bad boy greaser types focused on tuning their machines and racing.

Well, geeze. If the disguised women are better/more powerful knights then men, wouldn't that mean that every grail knight is a woman in disguise?

Though, I can see the... connection. The Lady of the Lake can not be fooled... into thinking that you are not a free bretonnian woman.

on the other hand, I could see it being tragic for that every questing knight that is a man is on a fools errand.

Did the Tyranid just drop a love letter in front of the Pretty Marine?

So are Slaanesh daemons now Incubus that are manipulative handsome shapeshifters that used to be Eldars but they were taken by Slaanesh?
>>
>>21142012
Or that really annoying slutty preppy bitch who always steals your man.
>>
>>21142068
The Eldar would be the preps, the daemonettes are just man-stealing sluts.
>>
In the tragic beauty of the 41st Millenium, there are only Eldar, persecuted and fading.

To maintain this, they are persecuted by OTHER beautiful, fading Eldar who are, themselves pesecuted by - well, you see where this is going.
>>
>>21142094
It's just a vicious circle of pretty, waifish, Eldar persecuting one and other over their level of pretty waifishness.

Truly they are much too beautiful for this world.
>>
>>21142094
Makes sense to me. The Harlequins are persecuted by the corsairs who are persecuted by the craftworlds who are persecuted by slaanesh who is really just the misunderstood chaos god of love and desire and fertility
>>
>>21142489

They are so beautiful, it's a curse.
>>
>>21140627

Basically, Brettonia would be Mists of Avalon on tabletop.

>fertility

You know, a GLARING absence in Slaanesh's capabilities is fertility and creation.

Like, Tzeentch and Khorne are overall pretty standard concepts for gods, but you'd usually envision a Slaanesh type god to have fertility and procreation in there. But this isn't a notable part of Slaanesh at all.
>>
>>21107007
do you mean... everybody muscle wizard?
that's pretty cool, I'd read it.
>>
>>21147778
Probably because Slaanesh never consumed the fertility godess Isha. Seeing as he ate most of the Eldar pantheon he technically encompass a lot of virtues that are flooded in excess.

In Lovedagger I suppose Nurgle would be the god of love but he is so ashamed of his apperance and nature that he rarely grants requests. His wife of convenience Isha loves him but he is afraid to fully invest himself with the godess of fertility.
>>
>>21148335
I kinda want a love triangle with Slaanesh, Nurgle and Isha.
>>
>>21149021

Will she choose the hideous but kind family man who just wants what is best for her, or the beautiful, seductive bad boy?
>>

You know they're based on a poem about homosexuality, right?
>>
>>21149718
They have a dark secret that they don't want anyone to know about. Their base of operation 'The Rock' is also named after a British gay club.
>>
>>21149718
>>21150217
That's not saying much... marines in general have had an underlining gay-theme for a long, long time.
>>
>>21150231
Their primarch is named after the gay poet who wrote the Dark Angel.

Dark Angels is pretty much a gay joke by GW meant to go over peoples head.

I say archive this shit.

What about the various Chaos chapters? Especially the Nurgle serving ones - how do you make them fit? "Beautiful on the Inside"?
>>
>>21152208

Only guys like Nurgle anyways.
>>
The Tau are going to be a lot more obviously weaboo - girls dig that shit - and likely a little less ugly. They are also far more likely to start using more melee combat (katanas, especially), since That's What Asians Do and it's sexy and empowering.
>>
>>21152741
Fire Caste is all a bunch effeminate ninja dudes being led by the sexy, empowered all-female Ethereal Caste, because a woman's true place is to lead.
>>
>>21152208
Nurgle marines are pale, gothy males that are tragically wasting away from a not icky disease, like hemophilia or something.
>>
>>21152841

THIS IS BRILLIANT. Nothing gets those motherly juices flowing like the image of the strong, noble guy suffering tragically from some romantic disease that causes him to cough blood and doesn't otherwise deform him at the slightest.
>>
>>21152788

Girls like effiminate ninjas? Huh. I always thought it was buff manly ninjas. Maybe that's the guy version.
>>
>>21151844
Why not? This is the best 40k thread on /tg/ at the moment.
>>
>>21152979
I guess it depends on whether or not they're gonna be making out with chicks or with each other.
>>
>>21153191

It's the bishie effect. Girls like feminine looking boys - there's no explanation for that. Guess it might be similar to how some guys like tomboys, right?

I guess. And lesbians. The fact remains that since tau are already weaboo bait, they'd logically be yaoi bait on top of that.
>>
>>21153899

Just replace "Sempai" with "'O" and "-kun" with "'la".
>>
>>21153810

But I don't like tomboys. They're gross. Unless they don't look like a tomboy. Tomboyish personality is fine, but not preferred. Tomboyish looks are no-go for me.
