Almost there...

Stay on target!

Almost there....

TG QUEST!

When last we left our heroes, they had managed to breach the outer edge of the Quarantine Zone, and therein found a world bereft of men with magic everywhere. It seemed suspiciously familiar to some, and plans are beginning to bubble and form in the minds of our unlikely transpatial saviors...

At least, I HOPE so.

Last Thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/21061278/

Day 19, late.

((Thanks for the drawing, Rynex.))

Have the All Under Heaven and Indefatigable's sensors all concentrate on the dimensional gateway that we detected, and attempt to find trace frequencies that can tell us where the gate leads to.
This planet is just a satellite fief of the Arch-SUE that the Quarantine Zone was meant to contain, and we shouldn't do anything that will tip our target off that we're coming for it.

Also, as a precautionary measure, have the Delta Greens Esuna'd by Lyla and Elaine, and magically scanned by the Aurors.
>>
>>21086720
Make sure that Aeshma is prepared to go with Team Amazon. She should disguise herself as an elf though so she doesn't look as out of place as an Astral Deva walking around.

Also, an unrelated question. Across the D&D canons (including Pathfinder) is it one set of gods ruling them all, or different copies of the same gods for each canon?
>>
>>21086745
I know that we had the Delta Green's magically and technologically scanned when they were put in quarantine, but we're dealing with a magical plague here; we should double-check everything, just to be sure.
>>
>>21086720
Get the Psychics and Abjurers to srcy and attempt to find two people on the planet.

In the original story there was a Female Goliath Fighter or Barbarian who helped kill the SUE.

And then, since this seems to be a 4e world look for a man named "Kenshiro Cascadero "Rattata" Orcuslayer." You may have to scry for the Rattata on his hat, but he's the only man minmaxed enough to survive and stay hidden on a world without men.
>>
Hm.
If this is a DnD style world, can we attempt some Planewalking?
Because I'd like to visit Mechanus if so.
>>
Since this is a Dungeons and Dragons world, does that mean there's an increased chance of seeing Azalin Rex again?
>>
>>21086827
Not a DnD nerd, what's that plane (?) all about?
>>
MetaOP, quick question: was a Salarian scientist able to fulfill our earlier request to put together an "Omni-tool for Dummies" and "Hard-Suits and You: Quick Start Primer" for our troops and get them acquainted on the technology?

>>21086845
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mechanus
Clockwork and LAW.
Don't break the LAW on Mechanus.
>>
>>21086845
>>21086845
It's the embodiment of Lawful Neutral, and specifically the home of the Inevitables, Clockwork Angels who punish mortals who transgress too far, from oathbreaking to extending life unnaturally, to even messing with time.
There's an Inevitable for every one of those, and if you slay the Inevitable pursuing one, you've just gained a slight respite, because another one will be created to pick up when the previous one left off.
They will never stop pursuing their goal, hence the name "Inevitable."
I figure that if there can be an Inevitable for those who abuse time travel, why not at least attempt to commission the creation of an Inevitable subtype for those who cause Reality Distortions?
>>
>>21086720
>>Outer edge of Quarantine Zone

Sorry but our APB target is deeper into the zone. We should GTFO, and look to diagnosing the Delta Greens of the "kill all men" magical disease they just caught.

Floor it guys, we have an arch-sue to kill and this planet ain't it.
>>
>>21086910
Careful, though. Some might view OUR operations as transgressions that go too far. That could come back to bite us in the ass.

>>21086939
Yes, our target isn't here. But there is a dimensional gateway with a reality distortion signature that might help us find our target. We should still see if it can give us any information before we leave.
Besides, we need a destination.
>>
>>21086939
The G-Man did say that destroying the Arch-SUEs lieutenants would weaken him.
I'd wager that cleansing the canons along the way would make him a lot easier to beat.
>>
Rolled 75

>>21086745
The DGs undergo yet more treatment just in case. The AUH begins scanning the gateway, attempting to get a trace on where it might lead.

>>21086783
It depends. Some rule multiple planes, some are limited to one. There are definitely multiple versions of each god/goddess, though. There have been a few recorded clashes between gods over which one is the 'true' Lolth, Bahamut, Lathandar, etc.

>>21086814
Your Abjurers and psions get to work.

>>21086827
You may.

>>21086843
Possibly.

>>21086888
Yes he did. The instruction manual wasn't as clear as you'd like given it was clear by Salarian standards and not human ones, but it was still very informative.
>>
>>21086939
But this place is a very good place to look for additional forces.
>>
>>21086827
I don't think Mechanus exists in the 4e Cosmology.

Also, don't fuck with the inevitables. I'd rather not have a visit from the inevitable that punshes shit we do.
>>
>>21086957
But he also said that we should take care of the leader quickly, before it has a chance to realize what's going on. And if we start killing its lieutenants, then it'll know that something is coming after it.
>"To stop the Zone's expansion, you have to kill the S.U.E. it was made to contain, and either kill or subdue and cleanse his lieutenants of the taint they carry. The best method balanced for all factors is to attack him in his lair before he has a chance to realize what you are doing or summon the bulk of his converts, then deal with his tainted minions one by one or in small groups."
>>
>>21086956
Yeah I would agree that that is the risk.
Another danger would be that I wouldn't be surprised if Mechanus is bureaucratic as fuck, so it might be until we've already fixed everything before we can even get an appointment.
...Vitun knows stuff about planes doesn't he?
I expect he'd be the most informed of our staff to make some kind of judgment.
Also out of curiosity, does anyone know the genders of our Abjurers? I know they're mostly men, but not sure if they're all-male or not.
>>
>>21086964
Well, I would like to have Vitun make a small offering of diamonds to Oghma in exchange for information on the great heroes of this world.

If we know enough about them, we can Rez them and hopefully get some high level D&D fighters, monks, rogues, or even some more casters.
>>
>>21086970
We can have the probe droids look fro people who might be dissenters against the local SUE here. People who might not wholly agree with her 'kill all men' plan.
If we can turn them to our side we can probably gain plenty of additional forces for this battle.

>I think the AUH has at least a few hundred probe droids on it. We can survey a good portion of major population centers with them.
>>
>>21086991
Oh, forgot that part.
...Well it's not like all the males on this planet are coming back.
Lets book it and come back later I guess.
>>
>>21086974
Yeah never mind.
Inevitables are a double-edged sword, now that I think about it.
Even if they do attack our enemies, they'd likely be just as unrelenting to us.
Because that's what they do.
>>
>>21086964
Your scrying teams manage to locate her in a black cell, deep under the palace.
>>
>>21087136
Nothing on Kenshiro?

Guys, beam her out? She may help with information, if she asks too much we just tell her we're spelljammers seeing as they're knowing for flying around space and having hightech shit.
>>
>>21086814
I'm all for finding this Goliath.
Virtun, you're home, or rather, 'a' world that emcompasses your powers, gods, races, each world shaped to the whims of the creator. We've a very good hunch of 'what' this world Is, so create of dossier of this world and the foes we may face.
Operation Gygax: Rock Fall SUES Die
>>
>>21087158
Vitun's from pathfinder, this is 4e.
Everything is different except some names.
>>
>>21087136
Any luck from the sensors on the AUH and Indefatigable?

Also, can we get a transporter lock on the Goliath? I'd be surprised if there are no anti-teleportation wards.
>>
>>21087158
Remember, this is 4e. Vitun is Pathfinder. Shit be different here.
>>
>>21087182
It's tracing, but it's taking a while.
>>
>>21087157
We've got to be careful. She is a damn good fighter, but the whole space thing could throw her in a loop. Luckily, in DnD canons, the more orthodox characters 'murderhobos' as they're sometimes incorrectly classified, take well to sudden genre shifts or contamination.
>>
>>21087136
How about any word from the God of Knowledge as outlined here?
>>21087014
>>
>>21087207
Like I said. We're spelljammers. That will solve all the problems.
>>
>>21087215
I thought it was implied that the Tiefling and her new master killed the old gods?
>>
>>21087267
That is it's own canon. The gate isn't.
>>
>>21087239
Solved!
Eitherway, i'm heading down to a replicator to get some Period-fitting clothes, I suggest we get Douglas, Virtun, and our FFT dream team ready, And get some goddamn food! She's been locked in a dungeon for who knows how long, she'd kill for some ale, literally, so lets give it to her.

No men in the primary away team, we want surprise and violence of action on our side, and that means no men unless absolutely mission critical.

So, are we teleporting the Goliath up, in order to get more information about the dimensional gateway? Should we beam down an MSE droid into her cell just to make sure that there isn't any funky SUE magic that could interfere before we trying beaming her up?

Quarantine and magical/technological cleansing are a given, of course. And we're using the Spelljammer story, it seems.
>>
>>21087215
What spell are you using?
>>
>>21087431
One or two i believe, i dont remember if the story went much father. The shame it, unfinished stories can let SUES, or Fixers fill blanks easily.

This one if he can use it to attempt the bribe. Hopefully, the God of Knowledge will be willing to share a bit.
>>
>>21087558

Vitun attempts to contact Oghma, but finds he cannot. A flurry of whispers and murmurs flood his mind and recede as the spell fails.
>>
>>21087674
Did he get anything particular? Did the whispers sound surprised or scared?
>>
>>21087674
Bitch got Vecna'd.
>>
>>21087674
That's not good.
Can Vitun try contacting Erathis or Ioun? They're both goddesses and might still be around.
>>
>>21087727
Let's not say that name.
>>
>>21087734
We could also attempt to summon a planar ally from this area. They would know what's going on with Oghma missing.
>>
>>21087767
Honestly, we may need to try contacting him. Dude is undead, so he should still be alive. (You know what I mean.) And as the God of Secrets, he'd know everything that's going on and this whole SUE and no men thing CAN'T be good for him.

The problem is, he's a G-Man level dick.
>>
>>21087734
He could try. Do you want him to?
>>
>>21087436
I say we just try to beam her up. Make sure she's plague free and get her some lunch. Use an Al'kesh to do it, their transporters can usually punch through most shit.
>>
>>21087806
I'd suggest having Aeshma contact them instead. Looks less suspicious if they're under SUE taint.
>>
>>21087820

Seconded
>>
>>21087806
As Codeki said, try having Aeshma attempt the contact first.
They're the goddesses of knowledge and civilization, they should be willing to help us.

Also, have an MSE droid beam down into the Goliath's cell, then back up to make sure there's no hidden anti-teleport wards. Then beam her up into quarantine. Give her the Spelljammer story as we decontaminate her, and give her food.
>>
>>21087840
All Hear this, All Here this
Male crewmen are to evacuate decks 34, 35, and 36.

Aeshma, If you would please?
>>
>>21087848
This works. Seconded.
>>
Rolled 74

>>21087848
Aeshma makes the attempt, and like Vitun, is forced back by a barrage of whispers and murmurings. They seem more forceful this time.

The MSE beams down, then back up. The Goliath seems startled by this, but is even more so as she vanishes into one of your quarantine rooms.

Who is your spokeswoman for this?
>>
>>21087899
Should we send some guys with? Or start with a chick and then surprise reveal that we have dudes.
Also, Cheryl.

And seems like we may have to try contacting the King Dick.
>>
>>21087899
I volunteer Aeshma. She's got that pretty high Charisma score, and as an astral deva, is close to the kinds of celestials that the Goliath could be familiar with.

Also, those whisperings are not a good sign. There might be a SUE-created field preventing contact and interference from the Canonical pantheon.
>>
>>21087936
>>21087922
Prep our resident Elf, Cheryl should handle mind readings, but a different woman should cover face to face diplomacy. I say Agrias or Aeshma fields this one.

Mouse, you're part nanobot, A magical penis seeking murder virus likely wont harm you. You be ready to be on the scene, go put on something to fit the period.
>>
>>21087899

I vote we set up the psi-matrix to investigate these whispers further. We need actionable intel.
>>
>>21087975
I don't think we should. They got more forceful each time we tried contacting a god, native or no. This could mean that the threshold for some kind of alarm is being reached.
The SUE apparently set itself up as a new god; it would not want competition, and is likely to come down hard on anyone trying to contact another god or goddess in its sphere of influence.
>>
>>21088003
You may have a point at the moment. However, I KNOW there's a way to contact the God of Secrets that's completely undetectable. It'd most likely be in the hands of Osterneth, the Bronze Lich. But we don't have time to go hunting down the Cult of Vecna.
>>
>>21088003
And this is a SUE we're dealing w-.

Fuck, the Goliath, she could be under it's influence as well. Virtun, Aeshma, our other magical troops, Do any of you know how to, Cut off someone from contacting their diety? Like some sort of cursed or concentrated ground spell? Harsh to ask you devout folk, but, the alternative...
>>
>>21087969
>>21087936
Sorry for the delay, a bit under the weather.

"It's OK. You're with friends now," Aeshma gently says, approaching the Goliath from the other side of the quarantine wall. "We're spelljammers based out of Sigil."

"How did you find me?" the Goliath croaks. "Why did you take me?"
>>
>>21088202
"Spelljammer magic. No, seriously, a couple scry spells. We heard a little about your story, that the tiefling had been defeated, and thought that we could come here for some trade. But when we started looking, it looked like she had succeeded. We wanted to talk with you to find out what happened."

As for how we heard about her story, some Primes that came to Sigil.
>>
>>21088202
Like i said, SUE influence, even to the worlds greatest heros, their saviors, can turn them. We need to cut off this deck, that room, or this whole ship from divine interruption.
Get her something to drink, and Cheryl, could you delve into her mind, try and see if you pick up the Whole story, parts we missed, parts not written?
>>
>>21088202
Have Tosh do a telepathic check of the Goliath, and check her for SUE contamination. He's felt it many times before, he should be able to tell if she's being controlled.
>>
>>21088237
>>21088238
>>21088269
Cheryl and Tosh work together and swiftly report they found no trace of tampering with the woman's mind.

Aeshma puts a flask of water in the quarantine airlock and gestures for the Goliath to drink. She does so, as Aeshma tells your story.

"She was killed, but some of her friends managed to resurrect her. We were well on the way to killing her again and exposing her madness, then..." the Goliath scowls. "HE came. The tiefling said she'd found a new god to worship, and built a gate in the bowels of the Star Palace. We battled her, but then he stepped through..." she shakes her head. "Some form of dark magic... I was the only survivor, and they confined me to that cell."
>>
>>21088303
Can you give us the names of your companions? We have a cleric that might be about to rise them. Also what can you tell us about him?
>>
>>21088303
..."He"?
That's a pronoun I never expected to be used in conjunction with that Bard's allies.
>>
>>21088303
Have Aeshma get all details concerning this new god, such as abilities and what he looked like.

Also, the Goliath was confined since her defeat? Any idea why we can't seem to contact any of the gods or goddesses while we're here?
>>
>>21088303
"The only Survivor? Of what?
Did, she complete the spell? Or have surviving men gone into hiding?"

Mouse, get over there, Cheryl, Tosh, see if you cant get a good picture of what this 'new god' looks like.
>>
>>21088303

Not sure if we can deploy ANY of our ground forces.

Magical sleeping plague for men, dick growing for our ladies.

A mass landing of our securitrons might be the our attack plan.
>>
>>21088364

Keep in mind that the G-man advised us to strike at the main SUE first, then topple his lieutenants. Unless we can get information or some direct way to reach the SUE from here, taking out underlings will certainly alert the SUE to our presence.
>>
>>21088364
If the AUH and Indefatigable sensors come through for us, we won't have to land any troops.
We'll make the Meta Transit to the target's world and eliminate him there.

We need to ignore the lieutenants and go after the head.
>>
>>21088381
So unfortunately we need to wait a couple days.
...We shouldn't have taken that Goliath by this point, we already set things in motion on this world.
>>
>>21088364

We need to find the main SUE first. The Goliath might have intel we can use, if not, we go deeper in and begin heavy training. As is, we'll need to clone a body of the Goliath and put it in her cell, as if she died from an aneurysm.
>>
>>21088394

No, we just throw a flash-clone inside her cell. Doesn't need to be sentient, just a clone that looks like it died of natural causes.
>>
>>21088397
Can't we put a clone or some thing in the place of the goliath or make it look like she finally died? Also regardless we should resurrect the adverting party because recruitment.
>>
>>21088397
If we're going to do that, we need to start it now so that we can get one of the blank clones on the Nocturne can be modified to look like her.

Also, about how long does Egon and Data estimate it will take to get Meta Coordinates from our scans of the dimensional gateway?
>>
>>21088462

Yes, we should.

Get those vats ready.
>>
Wait a sec, guys.
We have the capability to replicate mobile emitters.
Modifying a clone body may take a few hours.

Let's beam a mobile emitter down to generate a hologram of the Goliath in case someone comes by to check on her while we're getting the body ready.
>>
>>21088323
"I... I can't..." the Goliath's face twists in fury. "Part of the spell... I can't even remember MY name much less theirs!"

>>21088324
>>21088333
"I only caught a bare glimpse. A tall bald man with pools of ebon glass where his eyes should be. He struck us all down with a wave of his hand."

>>21088334
"You want me to do what now?"

>>21088462
A few more hours, should be ready by early Day 20.
>>
>>21088626

Then please tell us more of the plague. Is it still active?
>>
>>21088600

Good temporary solution.
>>
>>21088626
>get coordinates for our target in a few more hours
Alright.
Program a Mobile Emitter with the Goliath's likeness and beam it down to take her place while a clone body double is prepared by the Nocturne.

Have the Spirit of Triumph and Hercules begin resourcing operations in the asteroid belt. We still need to get the Storm fully operational.

Make sure that troops are training inside Elysium to take advantage of the time distortion.
Make sure that all troops are familiarized with the omni-tools, and have troops with power armor learn to use them to be able to do battlefield repairs on their armor.

What's the progress on getting the troops requested last thread familiarized on power armor?
>>
>>21088681

It is never the time for speeches.
>>

Wasnt that a speech against speeches?
>>
>>21089228
First, a speech is unnecessary.
Second, taking out a Tiefling like that would be the job for HK-50 and his platoon of YVH droids and Holographic Security Squad.
Or simply BLU using an exographic scanner and microtransporter sniper rifle to snipe the target from a cloaked Al'Kesh.
>>
>>21089257
...Maybe.
But the point still stands.
We're out of here when we make that fake corpse for whatshername, because we were told from a fairly reliable source that we want to sneak attack the leader, and then kill the followers one by one.
>>
>>21089279
>We're out of here when we make that fake corpse for whatshername
No, we're out of here once we have the coordinates that the dimensional gate leads to, and not any sooner.
>>
>>21089214

I should have been more specific. I meant reverse the brainwashing and selective amnesia.
>>
>>21089288
Fair enough.
But while we're here we should just sit tight and hope no one notices us.
>>
>>21089288

We need an actual corpse just in case. Far easier to fake with. Besides, do you have any idea how hilariously fast shit gets done in EVE? Entire regions of space change hands in a month.
>>
>>21089206
"Mmmmph!"

>>21089199
"I like that name better."

The SY-3 squadrons are underway, training people to use them is what's taking the longest. You've managed to train up about 12 Mammoth crews so far, mainly because you had a smattering of tank crews press ganged into ship service when Holtz was grabbing everyone he could to man your ships.
>>
>>21089302
"I shall have to study the effects first. Give me a few hours with the data from the Observers, please."
>>
>>21089325

We have the time anyways, so that shouldn't be an issue.

As for the tankers, well, at least we have spares. Also, given that mammoth tanks are purely tech with no weird-ass shit, shouldn't we be able to fart them out via replicator?
>>
>>21089342
I suppose you could if you wanted to blow the time on researching their blueprints to put into the replicator.

A few hours later, Vitun returns, looking grim.

"Sirs... I believe I have identified the ritual used to alter the minds of the women. We detected no active magic on them, and there is only one spell powerful enough to permanently warp a mind without an ongoing effect. A vile spell known only to a few by the name 'Mind Rape.' This appears to be a supercharged version to strike across the globe at once, a scale of magic I have never seen before save in epics."
>>
>>21089379
It's been brought to my attention that replicators can't create complete vehicles, so that leaves the Creation Engine instead.
>>
>>21089379

Effing A.

Any defences against this spell? They've used it once, they'll use it again.
>>

Because there are two completely different answers there.
>>

What manner of spell components would be required for such a task?

If we cannont defeat them, we could Starve them.

>>21089390
Technically, you probably could depending on the size of the vehicle. However, the energy costs of something large could be prohibitive, even for our task force.
Better that the replicators just be used for making spare parts, and the Creation Engine used to create whole vehicles.

"But, do what research you can while able, Vitun."

Have an EMH run ove the DG's and Sonya with a medical tricorder, and have Lazarus and an EMH go over the medical data. See if there's anything we should be concerned about.

>>21089590
I didn't conceive it. I FOUND it... in the darkest, foulest depths of the internets. What is seen may never be unseen.
>>
>>21089596
Alright, the Delta Green's and Sonya appear to be clean, but we're dealing with a magical plague. Until we can terminate the SUE or get a sample of the plague for analysis, I don't want to take any chances.

But keeping Sonya locked up in isolation doesn't sound exactly fair, either. She can be moved into Quarantine with the Delta Green's just so she's not in solitary confinement.

Continue production of SY-3 ships, and 6 Defense Frigates from the Spirit.

We have a few hours until the sensor data is ready. Send the properly doctored clone body-double as soon as its ready, and beam the Mobile Emitter up once it properly places the body.

So, how's Mordin fitting in with the R&D department? How're Data, Mustadio, and Cossack getting along with ZAX?
>>
>>21089714
Mustadio alternates from feeling completely useless compared to everyone else to being in awe of the sheer genius of the technology around him. Data and ZAX are getting along famously, and currently have managed to play a single game of chess that has lasted for four days so far. Dr. Cossack keeps to himself mostly.

Day 20.

ANON: "The trace is complete and we have coordinates."

A report comes back from Elysium. The Storm has full power again. They are now working to restore locomotion.
>>
>>21089751

Poor Mustachio. Can't be helped. The tech level is way over his head.
>>
>>21089751
Actually, can Mustadio help with the production of Aglaophotis-B?
The Techno-Wizards and the Gurus could help in producing that stuff, since it's more magical than pure chemistry, and they're not as needed in getting the Storm's systems back online.
>>
>>21089788
Yes he can.
>>
>>21089751
Now that we have coordinates, has the clone body-double been placed?

>>21089830
Good. Get him and the Techno-Wizards on producing as much Aglaophotis-B as they can, in dart and gas grenade form.

Have Elaine and Lyla, one of the Abjurers, one of the Psions, and one of the Aurors try out the light hard-suits from the Armory.
Since they're light, they should be easy to use, and not interfere with spellcasting, but I want to be sure before issuing them.
>>
>>21089830

Then lets put him to work.
>>
>>21089865
It has.
>>
>>21089885
Also, make sure that Cheryl's been issued another hard-suit, with a helmet and working omni-tool this time. Make sure both she and Douglas read the manuals on how to use their omni-tools and suits.

Also, now that we're ready to go, have the Spirit and Hercules return to the task force, have all ships assemble into transit formation.

Anything left to make sure of, guys, before we transit to the coordinates?

We're going into the enemy lair; let's actually try to come out 1 light-week away from Earth, just to be sure we're not detected.
>>
>>21089885
Well then onward I guess.
...It'll only get worse from here, won't it?
>>
>>21089910
>>21089920
Cheryl and Douglas are now familiar with the basic functions of their suits.

All ships assemble into transit formation and jump through transpace, snapping back into place one light week away from Earth, and long range scans confirm that it IS Earth.
>>
>>21089974

What earth? Deploy an array of optical camera equipped missiles or fighters and network them into a shared array telescope so we can see what that earth looked like a week ago.
>>
>>21089974
Alright, standard procedure.
Have the Indefatigable get long-range readings on power sources in space, and sensor nets.

Farseers, take a look at the space around Earth, very carefully, to see if there are magical or psionic alarms.

The Inde and the RVF-25 coordinate to collect light data to try to get an image of what was happening on Earth a week ago.

>>
Rolled 88

>>21090025
The Farseers attempt to peer into the mystical realms around Earth as your sensors deploy to get a picture of what Earth looked like a week ago.

You find the Earth seems to be a little depopulated, with people mainly clustered around the major cities. What precisely are you looking for?

The Indefatigable manages to detects an array of defensive satellites around the Earth.
>>
>>21090175
"Powerful presences inhabit the Earth, and there are many spells around one of its great cities."
>>
>>21090186
...New York or Tokyo?
>>
>>21090175
Signs of some kind of war, cities that don't exist on normal Earth, a huge monument to the new overlord, the oceans red instead of blue, you know... stuff like that.
>>
>>21090175

Can we get a visual of a satellite, or do we need more resolution? As for intel, check known mililtary bases and capital cities.

As well, see if there's anything big in the oceans or air that shouldn't be there. We can use any identifiers to find out da fuck.
>>
>>21090186
Can you tell us which city? It's usually New York City or Tokyo, anyway.

>>21090175
Looking for anything that wouldn't be found on a regular modern Earth, such as a space elevator, massive monument to some bald guy, defense networks.

For the defense satellites, can the Indefatigable get a good scan on them? If not, then have it activate its cloaking device and warp into the Sol system. Hide behind Mars and try to get some scans of the defense satellites and what they're capable of, and if we can hide from them.
>>
>>21090175
If there is severe depopulation we need to determine the cause.

Changes in geography. Anything that might indicate a large war. Nuclear weapons leave craters and plenty of radiation. Epic level magic can do the same thing.

Look for any deforestation or dead areas on the planet. Magical plagues tend to kill more than just people.
>>
Shouldn't we be able to intercept some radio signals or whatever?
>>
>>21090289
If they're still transmitting. They appear to have suffered some kind of catastrophe, though.

But the RVF-25 should be able to capture any radio pretty easily, and the Indefatigable will be able to get more information from radio transmissions as it gets closer to the system.
>>
>>21090349

We aren't moving SHIT until we're done preliminary scans.
>>
>>21090186
"Rome."

>>21090223
There is a gigantic building in Rome that shouldn't be there. In addition, there are bizarre stadiums in most of the major cities that look foreign.

>>21090247
The Indefatigable manages to determine that they are fairly simple detection and destroy missile satellites, likely created in a hurry.

>>21090253
The planet seems to be oddly pristine. There is absolutely no trace of pollution or damage.

>>21090054
You manage to intercept what appears to be a news program... A gorgeous woman with purple hair reports on "Unclean worlds that have felt the touch of our Savior and the Blessed Queens of Chaos."

She is completely naked.
>>
>>21090377
...I'm intrigued.
Did she just finish the report or is she going to talk more?
>>
>>21090377
Simple, huh?
Can Data, Mouse, the Sandmen, UNIT, Isel Yew, and the Deckers slice into the satellites, lift the IFF codes, and get the entire task force listed as "Friendlies, do not report"?

Also, have the Inde get some scans of those stadiums.

And have some analysts and ANON go over the news program, give us a summary of what they're doing on those worlds, and what this Savior is doing.
>>
>>21090377

Have the indefagitable start listening in, have the signals analysed in clean rooms by isolated systems, and keep the operators doing the analyzsing quarantined for possible memetic contamination. ANON and any AIs should stay the fuck out of that area.
>>
>>21090377
How close is this world to the center of the Quarantine Zone? And can we scan for any reality distortions from this far out?
>>
>>21090407
She talks a bit further about the tour of pop star Anzu Mazaki, who after a few years, "has completely adjusted to the new world she had been brought to."

Then she starts talking about some sort of annual blessing ceremony to be held at the Chaos Temple by High Priestess Setsuna Meiou

>>21090418
They can try. Do you want them to?
>>
>>21090443
This world IS the center of the Quarantine Zone.
>>
>>21090480
Holy crap!
>>
>>21090476
Yes, but first, they should check around the perimeter of the network, making sure that there aren't hidden levels of complexity within the system. Have the Indefatigable do in-depth scans of the satellites to be sure.

Make sure to use plenty of dummy firewalls and buffers, and make sure to back yourselves up before doing this.

Until then, we should try and get control of their satellite defense network. Their communications network would be a bonus as well. If we can stop their satellites from hitting us and stop them from organizing when we make our move, we can stop them much easier.

Replicate a couple rubies and some gold jewelry.

Have the Al'Kesh go to San Francisco, beam the team down. Have them pawn off the jewels for local currency (since we can't be sure that regular American dollars will work), and then go to a net cafe and start going through the Internet, and checking to see who this Savior is.

I'm voting for simultaneous, as the away team is going to a city with no reality distortions and generally is not of any interest to SUE's.

Is there any chink in his schedule where we might be able to get him alone?

Right now, the Arch-SUE's lieutenants are scattered across the planet. If we wait for the blessing ceremony, we'll have a known shot at Chaosbringer but he'll also have all of his allies with him.

We could attempt to hit the palace with our all-female strike team, but we don't even know the layout or the defenses of the palace, or even how to get in. But, it would be more likely for Chaosbringer to be alone or with minimal support.

A third option is to do a Kyoto Shuffle and use MechaGodzilla as a distraction again. But Su might be able to hack his control frequency.

Cheryl, Lyla, Elaine, Agrias, Alicia, Lavian, Aeshma, and I suppose we can ask Sonya and Regina if they want in on this mission.

They'll need Federation Universal Translators, to help them blend in, replicas of locals clothes.
Suitcases with their hard-suits and weapons.
A nice bag of photon grenades for Cheryl. One of them should probably carry the Ebon Lance, and another the Nameless Blade and Voiceless Spear. And Mk. II Reality Emitters for everyone.

Alright, we need to get a plan together.
First, to try to get more information concerning the Palace, and how we can infiltrate it.

Then, we need to decide if we want to attack the Chaosbringer in his palace, or at the main temple. Both bad choices, but we have to choose one.

MetaOP, OOC but... how in the seven hells did you stumble upon this monstrosity?
>>
>>21091862
We can already initiate a Base Delta Zero. But without a Reality Emitter field large enough to encompass the world, we won't be able to ensure termination of the target.

More importantly, we need Will-boosting enchantments or something.
It doesn't matter if we have the Reality Emitters if the Chaosbringer is still capable of casting regular Mindrape.
It only require verbal and somatic components, and the reality emitter will NOT protect against it.
>>
>>21091877
A long time ago there was a thread, I forgot in what board. In that thread someone mentioned this, and posted a link to the story with the warning that it had the worst SUE he'd ever read.

"How bad could it be?" I said to myself.

How bad indeed.

How bad indeed.
>>
>>21091797
Again, we need to start getting some usable intel about our target.

"Commander Data, can you have an exographic targeting scanner hooked up to a tricorder in order to have the scanner essentially scan a building from a distance of a kilometer, and store the floor plans in the tricorder's memory for analysis by other computers?"

We may need to send our team to Tokyo and camp out in a place where they can scan the Palace.
>>
>>21091897

BDZ requires AUH in close orbit above the target.

With the tac nukes we can hide bombs around the population centers...

Which I think is what we need. No normal warfare, time to do terrorist work.

If they act like a typical sues, we can bet on them attempting to rescue the populations and we can force them into traps with focused reality emitter beams and the work.
>>
>>21091933

Except our intel specifically states we need to AVOID collateral damage and take out the Arch-SUE in a decapitation strike, which means we need to find a way to kill a single man in a group with no warning instantly.
>>
>>21091947

They still rule this place right?

Rig a location with bombs, call it in to them.

Let them do our work for them and clear out the civilians and search for bombs in the prepared kill zone.

Then we let the hammer drop on the anvil.
>>
>>21091986

Except then they'd have defenses up that are proofed against orbital bombardment.

We could get a droid to go through the sewer system with the exographic scanner and tricorder, walk to where it would be below the Palace, and leave the scanner there to scan, with an explosive charge on the scanner and tricorder to prevent capture, and beam the droid out. The droid will also have a thermal detonator self-destruct in case it looks like capture is possible."

Data, can we use the transporters of either the Al'Kesh or the Inde to transport objects so they have velocity upon materialization?

Like, if we were to transport something say a hundred feet above a target, how fast can they move? Using the exographic targetingg/teleporting bullet scenario as an example?

I don't care if the Inevitables chase us until the end of time, this madness cannot stand.
>>
>>21092300
>>21092359
That...hmm...we'd have to build a completely new transporter module that could fit onto, say, a Mammoth Tank's railgun cannon, since we can't be sure that a rifle round would be enough, and we would want the projectile to be distant from the target enough to not be thwarted by an anti-teleportation system, but close enough to not allow for the target to respond.
It'll probably need a secondary power supply in order to provide the transporter module with enough power and to increase the range so that the tank itself would not be detected.
We might even need to equip the tank with an Incursion holo-emitter so that it looks like an innocuous tractor-trailer while we set it up.
>>

Even if we go with this, we should have a contingency plan in place, that can use this as a distraction to kill the SUE.

We can have two levels of contingency:
1. Teleporting railgun to the face.
2. If the above fails, initiate the Kyoto Shuffle with MechaGodzilla.
3. When the SUE's attention focuses on MechaGodzilla, have the Army of the Dead swamp the Chaosbringer and his Queens.
4. Team Amazon (seriously Mouse, do you WANT to get your ass kicked by all the women in the Task Force?) composed of Cheryl, Agrias, Lavian, Alicia, Elaine, Lyla, Aeshma, Regina, and Sonya are equipped with the Ebon Lance of Longinus, the Nameless Sword, the Voiceless Spear, a bag of photon grenades, hard-suits (pending confirmation they won't hinder spellcasting), and maybe some reality disruptors. They will use the confusion to get in close and engage the Chaosbringer.
5. All of the above will be a distraction so that BLU Sniper is able to line up a shot and headshot the Chaosbringer, with a micro-transporter module and exographic targeting scanner on his anti-tank rifle.
>>
>>21094833

The SUE cure might be worth utilizing here, or perhaps holding off until it is fully researched. It may not work completely on such a strong SUE, but it could be a potent weapon against it. It doesn't get much better than having something to counteract the very essence of the enemy that you're fighting.
>>
>>21094833
Sniper should perhaps be wearing Psi-Armor, the Al'Kesh he's riding on piloted by YVH droids, and the Al'Kesh itself protected by the same Psi Shield that was used to protect the Oncoming Storm.
It would slow down repair work on the Storm again, but it would make the Al'Kesh undetectable to psionics, and could make the shot from Sniper even more unexpected.

>>21094861
That would be nice, but the SUE-Cure has not yet been completed yet.
>>
Commission the Spirit to create 4 Hiigaran Gun Platforms and 4 Hiigaran Ion Beam Platforms.
Station them in orbit and have accurate dedicated orbital fire support.

add a series of habitat additions and turn it into a space station for a trap. evil Death ray space station is a classic.
>>
Would it be possible to actually travel to any afterlife dimensions this world might have?
If we want an army of billions of angry ghosts, that would make them easier to find.
>>
>>21094880

I'm just kind of worried that we're thinking a bit too much like Black Ops here. Remember, the G-man said that we had several factors going for us that would make Task Force 38 especially suited for a (relatively) bloodless solution to the SUE problem when compared to the Crusade. The Crusade has arms and armaments and reality emitter technology out the ass; there is no doubting their superior numbers, firepower, and reality-affecting technology. They probably have intrepid heroes of their own that have seen plenty of action.

If the Crusade kicks our asses on the combat-tech, reality-tech, and force of arms/numbers front, what's our ace in the hole? Our research and some unique artifacts. The SUE-cure is something that the Crusade may not have come up with, and it might be the key to successfully resolving this conflict. This SUE is worse than Sapph, and we couldn't beat her in a straight fight; what makes you think that we'll be able to beat this SUE, who was so comparatively worse that the TG and/or their predecessors thought it was a better idea to seal them up in an ineffective quarantine wall than to merely post a bounty for intrepid TG members?
>>
>>21095888
You make a good point.
This 'Chaosbringer' was someone that, whoever the authority was at the time, simply could not destroy.
Why would we do so better?
>>
>>21095888
>>21095918
Because we don't fight fair. Surgical strikes, sabotage, traps and trickery. we'll do it all to win. Victory has a different meaning for us. For us, its our duty for the betterment of all, not a personal grudge.
Besides we have no other option.
>>
>>21095918

The G-man hinted that the Crusade could simply steamroll over the Chaosbringer and his forces due to their overwhelming brute force and their profound understanding of the laws of reality (along with crazy reality-tech that our best minds can't even comprehend). We can't steamroll over this SUE, who we must assume has enough SUE-juice to casually cast epic-level spells at a whim and dominate so many lesser SUEs.

That's why we need to fight dirty, and in ways the SUE would not expect a typical assault on his forces to go.

Rallying the innumerable spirits of the dead that were wronged by this SUE is probably a good step in this direction. The SUE-cure may be another vital component to this.
>>
>>21095888
>>21096002
The SUE-Cure and the Mirror of Truth may work against this SUE.
But, the SUE-Cure isn't done yet, and we don't know how much longer it will take to complete, and the Mirror requires that we be right in the SUE's face, which would still require getting a strike team together so that the Mirror-carrier can get into position.

For the first, we would need to wait possibly days for results, with no telling how the situation may change.
For the second, we still need distractions ready in case the security or the SUE's focus on his surroundings is too tight to get the Mirror-carrier into position.

>>21096000
All of the things you mentioned, the Great Crusade can do just as well, and Black Ops has been doing since its creation.
You need to be more specific on why we are in a unique position to actually succeed where our predecessors failed, and why we can do this better than the Great Crusade, who's been doing this sort of thing for hundreds of subjective years.
>>
>>21096000
That's Black Ops thinking and you know it.
You really think the Crusade isn't capable of such strategies?
>>
>>21096129
Your not thinking it in the same way, We use Meta knowledge in ways they don't. We know who to truly target right from the get go, who to leave alone etc. Black-ops has shown to only try and kill us with overwhelming force, and we've only met crusade scouts. Based upon our interaction so far. They don't act like we do. Different doctorates and stratagems based upon what I've seen.

On a side note, it's easier for us to rebuild husks and wrecks then from scratch right?
>>
>>21096060

>>21096060

We could divert the lion's share of our research into the SUE cure, and ask for estimates. If it means delaying an attack for a few days to get a substance that will allow us to pierce a SUE's plot-armor or hamper their abilities more times than a reality emitter does (or even grant our troops protection from the worst of their SUE abilities), it might be worth waiting for it. Frontal assaults have a tendency to fail when it comes to SUEs, because that's the venue that they have the most experience in.

We *will* need weapons research for conventional foes and getting past the SUE's many minions in one piece, I'm not arguing that. But conventional arms have a tendency to fizzle against SUEs, even if they are ancient and powerful relics. We may need something that affects their nature a bit more directly. I don't want to see our heroes added to the list of people that the SUE has corrupted and transformed.

Right now, even if we wanted to go with a SUE-Cure (we don't even know how it can be delivered; we might still need a strike team with dart guns) solution, we can't because it's not ready yet.
So we can prepare for other contingencies in the meantime.

Now, on to issues we CAN influence:

Is Cheryl the foregone conclusion, or could there be an upset victory from one of the other ladies?

Aren't you discounting Agrias too easily?
>>
>>21096195
But right now we only have 3 projects:
Transpace Lance, which can pierce a SUE's sense of self.
SUE-Cure, which we don't even know what kind of delivery method or dosage is required.
And Noosphere Research, which is the building blocks of next-generation SUE-power cancelling technology.

All three are important, and I don't think we can say that the SUE-Cure is the complete answer.
For all we know, it could involve a treatment over the course of months with modified SUE-rum in order to cure the condition, rather than something like the Aglaophotis toxins that can be loaded into a dart gun.

I don't think that we can afford to put all of our efforts into a project that has so many assumptions about it.
